Thinking about how Andrew always grabs onto people’s necks and how we see Drake grabbing onto Andrew’s neck in trc. Since the book insinuates that this was used against him it makes sense that Andrew does this himself to gain physical control when people are near him, especially with Neil because he’s unfamiliar and unpredictable. In another post I mention how Andrew speaks less the more stressed he is, and instead we see him use a lot of physical cues like this. Even when he isn’t in danger we see him go for peoples necks (like when he chokes Kevin in the kings men) because it gives him a sense of control.

Knowing all this I think it was really interesting for Nora to add this neck stuff in tkm. It shows that Neil pays attention and wants to understand Andrew, and more importantly we see someone touch Andrew’s neck in a non-malicious way, which contrasts the scene with Drake.

I never saw people say stuff like this enough when I was a teenager, so I’m saying it now.

I’m in my mid-thirties and I have never had sex. I’ve thought about it and could have had one or two opportunities if I put in more effort, but I always decided against it because I just wasn’t into it at the time.

I can safely say that I do not feel I have missed out on anything. I was perfectly capable, by myself, of learning about my own body and boundaries without anyone else there to muddy the waters. The immense pressure that was there in my teens/twenties to Have Sex Just Do It is basically gone. I’m vibing. I’ve got my routine by myself in bed that I enjoy, and that’s enough for me.

And in the unlikely event that I ever decide to have sex with someone in the future, I don’t feel at all like I’m lacking some essential Knowledge or Skill that would “make it good” for someone else. I fully expect to ask my partner out loud what they like and to receive an answer clearly communicated and to relax and have fun. And if it’s a disappointing experience, I’m fine with that too. It is what it is.

Sex is just not that big of a deal. I suspected it as a teen, and I’m more sure of it now. It’s fine to have it or not have it. It’s whatever.

How funny would it be if for Halloween the Floozies take a vote and end up agreeing to dress up as their s/o’s?

Cat and Laila switch clothes and change the way they braid their hair to suit each other better. Ananya dresses like Cody while Cody dresses like Pat and Pat dresses up as Ananya complete with a skirt and a ridiculous wig. Xavier and Min end up looking literally no different because they dress the same anyway but that just adds to the joke!

Then there’s Jeremy and Jean, who aren’t together but they’re the only odd ones left, right? And so Jean loans Jeremy one of his blue shirts that he bought specifically for Jeremy’s attention and a pair of his jeans; it’s all way too big. Jeremy is laughing and pulling up the pants constantly and Jean can’t get over the sight of seeing Jeremy in his clothes. It’s alluring and sinful and it shouldn’t be, it’s just clothes—

Whereas Jean dressing like Jeremy means swapping his usual tees for a tank top and he wears a pair of Trojan shorts with USC lettering on the ass and it takes a lot of persuading but yes, he does have to wear the puka necklace.

Jean gripes but Jeremy and the rest can tell he isn’t having such an awful time because he’s participating, right? He’s hanging by Jeremy’s side all night, watching the way Jeremy tries his best to speak to everyone in French and French only. Even when Jean scowls at the others for nodding their heads and reciting back made up words to Jeremy, they can tell it’s half hearted.
