It being Elon's favorite game (or at least one so important to him that his biographer dedicates a lot of time to it) is.....really really funny.

Basically, imagine Civilization, but as a mobile game. So like if Civilization Revolution was even more dumbed down (that's a Civilization insult. That's devastating. It's devastated right now). For what it's worth, it's not a bad game. On the contrary, from what I could tell in the little bit of time I played it, it's a perfectly competent game with good design. But it's not a deep game by any means. I played through it once, won easily on my first go, then saw that the other playable characters had barely any differences between them.

Like, not to imply you can judge a book by its cover, but here's what it looks like

I used to dream of a peaceful life, completing my education, and getting a job, but the war has turned that dream into something impossible 💔😭. We have exhausted all our savings during the war. I know that I started my campaign very late, but that’s because there is no other way to help my family 🙏. I’ve been reached out to by so many people, so I’m going to get to work on a master list of fundraisers, though I can’t promise that I can get it all done quickly. I’m very occupied with college after all.

In the meantime, I’d like to spotlight the campaign of a Palestinian woman from Gaza who reached out to me on Bluesky. Her name is Eslam Mohammad, and she is 23 years old.

The Israel-Palestine war has taken everything away from her. She’s lost her home, her friends, her family, her job as a photographer, and her art. Her family of seven has been doing their best to persevere amidst the relentless bombing of Gaza, but they need support.

Eslam had dreams of starting her own business, but the war has left her and her family struggling to survive in tents among the rubble.

I’ll let her speak directly about the most painful part of her experience:

‏The most painful part of our ordeal is that my sister, who is only 12 and a half years old, was severely injured in a recent bombing, with life-threatening injuries. We have no access to the medical care she urgently needs. The situation in Gaza has become unbearable, and time is running out.

‏I had to convince my mother to sell her gold to fund our journey to Egypt, where my sister and I, along with her children, traveled hoping to find work and send money back to our family in Gaza. Unfortunately, we found no work, no shelter, and no food. Meanwhile, the rest of my family remains trapped in Gaza, suffering immensely.

In spite of all the hardship that she has endured, Eslam is nothing if not compassionate. While the Southern California wildfires were raging, she reached out to me to ask if I was safe. I cannot in good conscience simply leave someone who has shown such concern—in spite of her and her family’s circumstances—to die.

So I ask that we support Eslam and her family, to get them out of Gaza. Of the $39,450 goal, they have reached $37,165, or 94% of their total goal. They’re close to meeting their goal, so I urge that we show them support.
