i've been pretty good lately. Stopped seeing my therapist because she said some really hurtful things to me. So that's cool that i have finally learned to stand up for myself and see patterns and all that. I've been looking cute lately too. I hope you are okay and taking care of yourself.

Birthday

My birthday is May 11. I don't know where you are but for me that is going to be in less than an hour. I haven't celebrated my birthday since I was 14 and realized the way my parents were struggling with money. Also at 14, I took my first attempt. Since then, I haven't really found joy in celebrating my birthdays. Long days filled with compliments towards my parents, were both of them bask under the shine of my success and accomplishments. Days were my friends use me as an excuse to go out, see each other and have fun.

However, I stay back. I sit quietly as all these familiar faces make decisions for me (what are we going to eat, drink, dance to, do) and I smile and nod along because, here is the secret. Birthdays are not for you, they are for them.

I hate celebrating my birthday. The suffocating feeling of another year where I am still here. I was supposed to be in peace 5 years ago. Now it's 5 years of wandering numbly on this earth. If it's your birthday as well, I hope you get to spend it however you wish. And if it's not, blow a candle for me🤍
