Now that Underverse 0.8 Part 1 is finally out, it’s time for me to step back and take a break from the series. It’s a bittersweet decision... seeing the amazing reaction to this episode makes me want to dive right into animating the next parts. But I know if I do, I’ll fall back into the same cycle of emotional burnout I’ve faced over the years. To break that draining routine, I need to stop for a moment. Underverse will be on HIATUS FOR 1 YEAR AND A HALF.
HOWEVER! I’m not disappearing entirely! I’ll still be working on the XTALE 21 YEARS comic, hosting Ask the Xtale Gang events, and occasionally creating short animated content. This break will also give me a chance to focus on my original project, METADORA.
I’d be lying if I say I'm a little worried about people forgetting the series during the hiatus. But I need this break, and I can’t thank you all enough for your continued support and encouragement. Even during tough times, knowing that this project was born from a mix of improvisation and silliness, has brought joy and inspiration to so many people reminds me of my purpose in this world. And I want to keep doing that until the end.
I hope to return with renewed passion and strength to finish this journey that has taught me so much not only as an artist, but as a person as well.
Thank you for being with me.
See you until 2026.

UTMV DEAD CODE AU Ramblings
DEAD-CODE DEFINITION: A section of code in a program that is not used or accessed during the program's operation. It can refer to code that is never executed, or code that is executed but has no impact on the program's output. It’s a deceptive element that can be found in software projects. It can waste time and memory, and often goes unnoticed. Removing dead code can change the program's output and create bugs, so compilers are usually conservative when removing it.
AU DETAILS:
The Dead Code AU (or the DC) is a small pocket/“mini-verse” that is composed of unused, discarded, or thrown away code from other AUs/timelines.
The small pocket contains characters, music, objects, and backgrounds; which is glitched into the Dead Code area when the timeline is started, reset, or overwritten.
When things are transferred into the Dead Code, the effects can be mental or physical. The glitch will mainly affect actual characters and their souls/bodies, although music and objects can also be affected.
Some examples of the effects are: missing certain physical features, glitching soul/body, glitched magic (can have positive or negative effects), and insanity/negative mental symptoms.
Unused V.S. Discarded Codes
Unused Code— When code never ran in the timeline it was made for when the timeline started. Whatever isn’t used to begin with is an Unused Dead Code.
Discarded Code— When code is removed or replaced when the timeline resets or is overwritten. Whatever is no longer used is a Discarded Dead Code.
Unused Codes are a lot more stable, due to it never being in its timeline and never becoming physical. Discarded Codes are a lot more likely to be unstable and mentally unsound(if it even can be) due to being ripped away from its timeline without warning.
Environment and Community
The environment is very similar to the OG Undertale timeline, however some parts are more dangerous and glitchy than others. As far as the people who are in the DC know, the surface doesn’t exist.
The more dangerous parts include Hotland and The Core, as the unloaded chunks of magma and rock makes it hard to traverse.
Because The Core in the Dead Code is not functioning properly due to the transition to the DC, the ventilation system has been compromised. Any scientists who are able have been tasked with studying the area and fixing The Core.
More medically knowledgeable people are tasked with helping others who have been affected/disabled by the transformation. They are working on finding ways to restore others to their original forms, however no positive results have been recently reported.
As the Dead Code grows, so does its community. There has been a very simple government program established, with some laws and regulations to keep things orderly.
Most ‘citizens’ in the DC are assigned a patch or pin to wear that resembles an unloaded texture (pink and black checkered pattern), it symbolizes safety and stability for those who wear it. (Stable + Unloaded Patch, SLP)
For the more unstable and mentally unsound, the caution tape pattern is used. It can be shown in different ways such as jewelry, belts, clothing, etc. It symbolizes danger and power for those who wear it. (Unstable + Dangerous Patch, UDP)
Most people have a SLP, but it’s not uncommon for some to have both. If they do have both it’s most likely that they’re unstable but not that dangerous or powerful and vise-versa.

Hello!
Welcome to The Deadcode, a Undertale AU about unused or thrown away code! I’ve been working on this for a while so I hope you like it!
First, let’s go over a couple rules…
Do’s!
Asks!! The ask box will always be open unless specified! Feel free to ask any questions you have about the AU!
Art!! I’d love to see art of this project of mine! If you want to make an oc, go right ahead!! Get that creativity flowing!
Be Cringe!! We are all cringe in our own ways, do what makes you happy!
Inspiration!! I am a-okay with people using my stuff as inspiration, I understand what it’s like not being able to get your ideas onto paper. If you do use parts of my work, please credit me!!
Please, please, PLEASE be respectful to one another, the internet can be harsh so it’s good to have some peace once and a while :)
Don’ts!
NSFW! I am a minor and there are lots of minors in the UT community; I would like for this to be a safe space that everyone can use!
AI! I do not support the usage of AI nor the idea of it. As much as I love people expressing themselves, AI is not the way to do it.
DNI if you are/support racism, homophobia or transphobia, pedophilia, incest, or pro-shipping. This is a safe space, but not for you. Get out.
Do NOT steal or repost my work or others!
Do NOT be rude, especially to beginning artists. I understand the anxiety of posting things online, but you shouldn’t bring others down for what they’ve created.

I made a blog for it because I like being organized 👍
A Undertale AU Idea:
The Dead Code AU, where characters, assets, backgrounds, music, and all other unused or scrapped code resides.
When something or someone is unable to “load” into their timeline or is discarded from the code, they end up in what is essentially a small pocket/“miniverse” that acts as a hidden file in a computer. One way in, one way out.
I’ve been thinking and developing this AU in my brain but I was afraid it would be too much like the Omega Timeline. I’ve used it mainly as an AU for ocs of mine to take place in, maybe I’ll post art about it later.
Things I’ve thought about adding:
When a piece of code (character, background, etc.) is unable to load or is forgotten/unused they’ll glitch out of their original timeline and into the Dead Code.
When they glitch into the Dead Code, the effects can be mental or physical. The glitch will mainly affect actual characters and their souls if they have one, although music and objects can also be affected.
Examples of this would be things like: characters missing certain physical features or body parts, souls glitching and affecting the person’s abilities/magic, or just having a part of their brain/soul removed or missing.
Body Horror is definitely a major part of this AU, along with musical distortion and more darker themes
The Dead Code is not a very safe place, as most things there have missing parts and aren’t finished.
I thought about making the “caretaker/creator” of this AU being a puppeteer of sorts, my main inspirations being Caine from TADC, Simulacra, Monica from DDLC, and The Other Mother from Coraline.
I’d love feedback and suggestions! Feel free to create a character if you’re interested!!
