Amandla Stenberg gifted a billboard in Times Square to celebrate their birthday (10/23) and ‘The Acolyte’ renewal efforts.
Fans put in work to get this billboard up! The billboard reads, “Happy Birthday to Our Acolyte Amandla Stenberg. #WeLoveYouAmandla SaveTheAcolyte.com”
The background of the image has the words Beautiful, Successful, Brave, and Determined repeated in rows.

This was my first series of Rhea Drakos and Lycius Mavros in digital art exploring the default brushes and tips and trick of Procreate. This is a few years old and despite how much I've grown as an artist I still really love these three frames.
Lycius is in his head (as per usual), dreaming about Rhea who he hasn't seen for years. He's imagining himself drowning in the Underworld river Archeron (because he's a drama king) and being carried through it to the dawn by Rhea herself (because he's a hopeless romantic). She's pointing down at the lack of reflection. He's not sure he has her face quite right, whether he remembers her correctly. But in his long days of solitude he wonders about her, what it would have been like to not be cursed, to not be restricted and to have confessed that he still loves her.

it's good that we're saying "i don't feel guilty about pleasure im not Catholic" but we also need to start saying "i don't feel self-righteous about being overworked I'm not Puritan"

I feel as if I were a star blissfully unaware of its own demise, but that expansion becomes a blackhole, and the cycle continues.

Made a new book cover, I'm learning more and more about the importance of black holes as a symbol for my ocs...
The Colours of Darkness is a young adult version of Beauty and the Beast, if the beauty could command shadows and the beast was socially awkward.
Rhea is very used to the otherness as a young woman with shadow magic and a gothic sense of fashion. She tires out easily in the sunshine the more her powers develop and struggles to find any compassion from myths of Melbourne unless they are inherently nefarious beings.
Lycius is stuck in the family cycle of generational trauma represented through the use of the Curse of Lykaon—an ancient Greek king cursed by Zeus to be become a beast when he insults the King of Gods by serving human flesh. While werewolves have evolved since the ancient times and strengthened their own communities, the curse has suddenly erupted in Lycius’ famly line. A family that had no idea they had a werewolf gene to begin with.
I have been deeply entrenched in the tropes and scopes of the genres of romance, fantasy, and the paranormal for my entire life. Subsequently, when I write within these genres, I subvert the expectations so there may be gentle beasts and fierce, sometimes terrifying maidens.

Historical Fashion: Byzantine Dress
At the beginning of the Byzantine Empire (4th century CE - 15th century CE), togas that took after the Roman fashion was worn by the upper class. By the time of Justinian’s rule, togas went out of fashion and the tunica was worn by men and women. The tunica was similar to the shirt in that it was T-Shaped. Tunicas worn by women were longer than tunicas worn by men. Women dressed modestly, wearing fashions that covered most if not all of their bodies. [x]
Rich fabrics such as silk was worn by the upper classes, while the lower classes wore fabrics that were less costly and less vibrant. Court dress or formal dress is the most common image associated with the Byzantine style. This style is the illustrious headdresses with jewels, pearls, and gold, and the colorful garments with intricate patterns.

I am in despair till A Monsoon Rising lands in my hands so here is a rough sketch and colour of Talasyn and Alaric from Thea Guanzon’s “The Hurricane Wars”
“You've been fighting all your life, Your instinct is to strike first, before anyone can hurt you. But, sometimes it's the blow the molds us. Taking it. Letting it ring against our defenses, until we are assured in the the knowledge that, when it's over, we will still be standing.”
I don’t know how to design armour 😭

And then, she became legend…
“The Colours of Darkness” is a paranormal novel about a shadow-wielder who can see vibrant colours in the dark—and is depicted as a monster whenever she shares a part of herself. There is only one person in her life who ever saw beauty in her monstrosity and that is Lycius Mavros, a cursed and isolated werewolf struggling with the weight of his own generational trauma.
Rhea Drakos is a monster, but Lycius is a beast.
Together they could make a perfect modern myth of self-acceptance and love in the dark — or watch each other tear themselves apart.
Follow for more art and nonsense
