In Civil War, Team Cap and Team Iron Man are gathering their members, and according to the movie, Clint goes after Wanda. But this time...
Clint Barton had made that fire, knowing it would draw out Vision and give him enough time to talk to Wanda. He was ready to confront him, bringing his special arrows that would deliver an electric shock that could trap Vision in it. As he walked through the compound looking for Wanda, he heard a voice, Wanda, talking to someone else. But that was impossible, no one else should be here, all the intel told him that there was no one in the Avengers compound except Wanda and Vision.
Clint slowed down as a precaution and readied an arrow from his quiver. As he moved slowly through the darkness, he listened intently to hear their conversation.
It was a man's voice, a deep, strong tone and a faint accent that Clint wasn't sure where it belonged.
- Wanda, listen to me, these humans are getting ready to fight each other, They want to kill each other, they want to chain each other, they want to take away your freedom. Today it's just a piece of paper, tomorrow, they will put a collar around your neck and force you to obey them. It's something I've been warning everyone about for years. They blame you for everything my dear, they hate you for this, they want to put you on trial for this. Don't you understand? and for what? All those humans you saved in Lagos don't matter to them, only five dead Wakanda politicians and the whole world is after you. Stark doesn't care about you, Rogers doesn't care about you, one of them wants to imprison you in the house, and the other one just needs you for your power so he can save his childhood friend from the consequences of his own actions.
The man's voice was familiar to Clint, but he couldn't be sure where he had heard it before. From where he was hidden, he couldn't see the man's face or even his figure, But only a small part of Wanda's face. She was completely upset had her head down in a thoughtful somewhat embaresed position, as if she did not dare to look at the man eye. She didn't answer to his previous accusations just one sentence: They are my friends.
The man sighed, as if he had been struck by a sudden pain: "Your friends *a deep pause, as if he didn't know how to continue* want to hand you over to the government. Thay want you to You'll have to answer for saving all those innocent people. They want to put you under house arrest, they want to take away your every freedom of action. They want to blame you for everything that's happened in Lagos. And if you don't cooperate with them and don't bow to their every whim, they'll send you to Raft! Do you know where Raft is? These so called friend will do this to you. This same heroic, honest, ethical, and dedicated team that you are so very proud of.
He said each of these words with a low voice and a passion as if they were the worst kind of insults. And for him, perhaps they were.
- They wouldn't do that. You're paranoid. They would never do that to me. Stark kept me here for my own safety. I know, I'm sure.
She doesn't sound very sure.
At this moment, Vision returned: Wanda, there was a fire in the compound. I wanted to– augh, augh!
Clint couldn't see what was happening, but from the sound of it, it seemed like Vision was in pain. Wanda's anxious voice came: Please don't hurt him! Please. He's the only one I have here. Please! He didn't do anything!
The man said in an authoritative tone, "It's too late, Wanda, make your decision. Come back with me to where you belong, to the people you belong to, or stay here with these humans and their toys and share their fate!"
At this point, Clint decided that hiding was enough, he had waited long enough, it was bad enough to hear that some bastard had come and was questioning the entire Avengers, but he was damned if he was going to let him take Wanda with him.
While he put one of his most powerful arrows in the holster, he came out from behind the wall: "Well, you bastard, I don't know who or what you are, but don't think I'm going to let you come here and threaten this girl. She's like my own daughter, you understand? I adopted her."
When Clint emerged from behind the wall, the man's back was to him. All he could see was a tall, stocky figure with white curly hair that reached down to his shoulders. The Vision was kneeling at the man's feet, trapped in what seemed like an invisible death grip.
Wanda looked at him with a mixture of surprise and fear. But the man didn't move at all, and didn't show the slightest sign of acknowledging for Clint or the weapon that was pointed at him. Instead, in one slow motion, he raised his right hand and made a fist. And all hell broke loose.
Clint's bow was knocked out of his hand, his quiver was ripped from his back, all his knives and hidden weapons were pulled out of their pockets, and Clint was suspended in midair, and then one of his own arrows was wrapped around his neck. At that moment, Clint remembered where he had heard that voice, he didn't need anything else to confirm who this man was. Actions spoke for themselves.
The Master of Magnetism, Erik Magnus Lensherr, Magneto, with all his dignity and awe turned around and stared at Clint with his icy cold blue eyes.
He said in a voice dripping with venom:" If my daughter needs another father, I can find a better one myself."
Clint and Vision simultaneously muttered through clenched teeth: Daughter?
Wanda stood there like a deer caught in the headlights. She glanced at Clint and then at Vision and begged Magneto, "Father, please! Don't do this, they're my friends. Vision helped me a lot after Pietro died and Clint saved my life on Sokovia! FATHER!?
Magneto looked away from Clint and took two steps closer to Wanda, towering over her: "You WILL come with me. You may hate me for it. But I would perfer you live to do so. *Magneto took Wanda's chin in his hand and forced her to look at him, his eyes lost their hard expression and instead filled with pain and sorrow* I lost your brother, I don't want to lose you too. There is no mercy for you among these humans my daughter. Come with me. I am sorry for everything. I love you. Wanda!"
He said her name like a plea.
Wanda looked into her father's sad eyes: "Ich liebe dich auch, Vater." And threw herself into his arms. "But please let my friends go."
Magento slowly nodded and with a small gesture of hus hand he released both Vision and Clint.
Wanda stood there awkwardly next to her father، She looked at Clint and Vision with tearful eyes: I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.
Magneto put a protective arm around her shoulder: "For perfectly valid reasons, Wanda hid her and her brother's relationship with me from all of you, if they, the ones in charge of this contract, find out she's my daughter, they'll make things many times harder for her. You can have your civil war, I couldn't care less, but don't bring my daughter into it. *he glances deeply at Wanda* She's all I have left."
Clint could relate to this. He nodded in agreement. "Okay. Just for Wanda's sake." And he smiled reassuringly.
Wanda returned the smile and looked at her father: "I'm going to get my things."
In less than half an hour, they were both gone. Clint wasn't sure he'd made the right decision, but when he remembered Magneto's tired, pained look, he wondered how he would have acted if one of his children had been in Wanda's place right now. Now the only problem left was to come up with a plausible excuse for the captain to explain Wanda's sudden disappearance without arousing suspicion.
Wow, this was supposed to be really short, but I got carried away. This is the longest fic I've ever written, and I hope it's good. If there are any problems with grammar or terminology, It's because English is not my first language.
#omg this is exactly what I needed! a very well written Wanda and Erik ❤️#i read this at work hahah I was so curious!#(plz don’t fire me)#okay they won’t but I have to reread it at home i loved this so much#we need more magneto in mcu fics#wanda maximoff#erik lehnsherr#magneto#clint barton#hawkeye#vision#captain america civil war#mcu#avengers

My OG fandom, The Phantom of the Opera. Saw they were going on tour 2025 and I am SO EXCITED.
Fun fact: I became an artist because of PoTO! I watched the movie when I was 12, then the 25th Anniversary, and was so inspired I decided to draw the phantom. Ive been drawing ever since.
