Back when Chapter 3 of Poppy Playtime was released, I came to love the Smiling Critters, and could not help but think of how perfect they'd be as Animal Crossing Villagers.

What personality types do you think they'd have? There are four types for male and female villagers each, which so happens to fit perfectly with this situation, with there being four males and four females.

(I initially saw it as: DogDay = Jock, KickinChicken = Lazy, Bubba Bubbaphant = Smug, Catnap = Cranky, Bobby Bearhug = Sisterly, CraftyCorn = Normal, Hoppy Hopscotch = Peppy, and PickyPiggy = Snooty. Though to be honest the females are harder to pinpoint than the males.)

Some of the prototype concept art of Balan is....straight up just Ed, right down to the bowtie, and I don't know I feel about it. Had to color it to really see the vision.

I'm just really glad Balan ended up the way he is in the final design. 💖 And I'm totally down for David Gasman voicing Balan too.
