No, ao3 doesn't need a second kudos button or a kudos button each chapter, because you know what you can do each chapter? Comment. It needs your words, your comments, there is a comment draught, kudos is lovely, but it is a ping in a lonely chamber, a lecture hall where you can tell students are listening but no one ever raises their hands to speak or engage with the professor, if you love it so much you want to give a second kudos, you love it enough to type even just a couple words into the comment box, "love this," "neat fic!" It's just a couple more clicks!

why are time loops always only like 1 day long?

the real horror is a months or years long time loop. no speedrunning your torture here. you have to sit with the consequences of your actions for a loooong time before the release of knowing the consequences and actions have been erased.

but oh, all the actions and consequences are gone. those relationships you built? empty. you can never build them again without the constant guilt of knowing that it's not as real the second, third, thirtieth time when you already know all their secrets and they none of yours.

but you can't hide. you can't isolate yourself because what if this is the time the loop breaks and then what? years gone by of missed chances with people who have changed you a thousand times and now circumstances have changed. you can never build back what was washed away by your own inaction. they'll never be able to meet you like they did the first time if you don't choose to meet them the first time every time

Imagine you're in high-school and you have a huge crush on a teacher and you realize you're gay and you ask "do you think all gay people are terrible..?" And he smiles and says "there's bad straight people and good straight people, so why would I think all gay people are bad?"

Then you're outed against your will and he tells you you're disgusting. You go "but you said you didn't hate them!" And he says but it's different for YOU and kicks you out of school

Then you return to your high-school after graduating from college to show him see I ended up being a good educated person! You hate him for being so cruel but also want him to give you another chance... then you realize the trophy case has your picture and everyone says "you didn't know?? When you left he was so sad he fell into depression and he'd come stand in the hallway and stare at this pathetic shrine he made for you"

You try to talk to him but he runs away from you. Clearly he doesn't want to associate with a gay person like you - is what you'd think, except he's hanging out with your FLAMING father!!!!?

Unfortunately, I have too many works (most unfinished) that I love and adore, so this is off the top of my head and the most recent.

I swear these are a lot cooler and better than what I've described.

A paragraph detailing a drop of an ocean of gruesome crimes a character has committed.

My little precious sassy stalker demon baby saying, " My name is [REDACTED]" when the MC asks why he knows so much but not his own name (the name being a random one MC created for him like a minute ago).

MC: "You'll find there is no trace of the assassin's body." (Two of his coworkers/friends {at that point, not yet} exchanging unsurprised but uncomfortable looks.) MC's older brother (who is the leader of the group, people have the assumption that he's a normal guy): "Then there is nothing to clean."

A character reminiscing about his childhood, where his brother killed, cooked and seasoned his pet chicken (and fed it to him) and he got mad, so his brother got a pet chicken and named it (essentially) "Chicken Soup" so he could let him kill, cook and season it as revenge.

A series of letters where the two MCs kept having a consistent one line that included a 'stand' pun about one of them's drawings.

The MC regretting the choice of words he used when he rescued a child and the child's father is now confronting him. Flashback: I am kidnapping you. *Sarcastic* Present: Father, this man kidnapped me :D

MC being an oblivious man to the effect his smile has on others (namely a certain character).

The ending to a story where the surviving MC never finds out what happens to his brother, but it's very unsubtly hinted throughout that something specific happened. However, this information is not shared with that MC, and thus no one will ever realise the truth. A reversal of fates. If the surviving MC hadn't come back, his brother would still be here.

My outwardly mature mentor mentally an arsonist old (actually he's like forty) man and his weapon-making my-husband-died-once-so-now-I'm-actually-yandere-but-I'm-too-sweet-for-anyone-to-notice husband scenes.

(Experiences traumatising, horrible scene) Mangaka MC: I want to draw this so bad. (Does traumatising, horrible things) The Chosen One MC, receiving a headpat and a hug (most definitely affection): Is this... affection? No, can't possibly be. I'm an unlovable person who is too grown up (actually a child) to need such childish things like *affection*. My parents said so. Everyone said so. BUT I WANT MORE. No, bad human. That's bad. Also I just killed a person who asked me to kill them to end their suffering, my first kill, that's probably not good. Affection is an unneeded construct. 'Tis not a baby. Don't want or need it. (Makes people go through traumatising, horrible events) Almost-omniscient and omnipotent Side Character: This shows how much I love you guys.

It's fun to look back to the things you're proud of. I'll start -

"There on the ground lay Kudo’s head." - From this. I was very proud of myself for coming up with that ending.

Every single scene involving the sock puppets in my A Different Kind of Living Series.

Every time they burst into song in Moondrop. It was fun to write and fun to read back.

"As Tenko took his turn to run, he noticed a white-haired man standing in their neighbor’s backyard, examining the red flowers of the wisteria tree that grew there." From this. I loved putting in the small detail of Yoichi staring at red wisteria when they meet him.

The Many Different Instances in Which a Tattoo Can Occur. Writing this was really fun and I can't pick a favorite joke or scene. Really, I like the whole thing.

The first chapter for KudoIchi Week. I loved writing their battle against Dragon For One. Well, really the whole fic was fun.

When Hisashi kept blaming a literal cat for everything in The White Cat. That was very funny to me.

The first paragraph in A Normal Weekend. It was descriptive and fun to write.

The second chapter of Shigaraki's Monster. I loved giving Kudou and Bruce a more complicated relationship.

And finally, this paragraph from Not My Brother. "Yoichi was not his brother. He would not snap and throw tantrums at such obvious tactics. This was one Fumiya loved to use against him, throwing how much longer he knew Kudou in his face. He just seemed to know everything about Kudou. Little did he know, Yoichi knew more. Not just because of the instinctual “know” that came with being fated star-crossed lovers, but also because he loved Kudou enough to watch over him all the time, even when he was sleeping. Beat that!" It's just very funny to me.

What if the peak lords concluded that the most likely answer to the mystery of Shen Qingqiu's behavior is not that he's possessed now (because they checked and all the tests came out negative), but that he must have actually been possessed before?

No one thought to check him before, after all. They just figured he was an asshole. But then he suffers a qi deviation, almost dies, but comes back nicer. Only slightly lacking in context for his own past behavior and lifestyle, too.

It fits remarkably well, doesn't it? All this time the real Shen Qingqiu must have been trying to free himself from a demonic spirit that took possession of him in his youth! It was the demon who was the asshole, dragging his poor host to brothels, alienating his sect siblings so that they wouldn't investigate him too closely, abusing his disciples and probably weakening the sect from within as part of some nefarious plot!

But then the real Shen Qingqiu finally managed to beat back the demon himself, even being gracious enough not to point out what happened to his martial siblings and so save the sect's face. What a guy.
