Sometimes the universe aligns
My past week in France has been crazy, first I was able to do a private tour through le bon marché in paris, if you don't know it, look it up, it's an amazing place, where you can find some of the most luxurious brands. There I could ask important questions about my future career. Sadly I caught a cold there aswell.
So I was knocked out, not focused on my classes and in a very weird state of mind. I could not focus on any screens and my ears were blocked aswell, so I took a book from my shelf I read 1.5 years before: the cafe on the edge of the world by @johnstrelecky.
I read through it in the 2 days, where I was feeling the weakest and I started to question myself on the 3 questions proposed in the book: "Why are you here? Do you fear death? Are you fulfilled?"
I looked back at the answers I gave myself in my first read through, but this time it didn't seem as easy as before. I started asking myself why did I give these answers and are these the right answers.
Then today, I signed up for another school trip to @ericcharlesdonatien by accident. I thought I was signing up for a store visit or museum in the next week. But if it was by chance or some random power, I got to meet this amazing artist. He talked to us about his definition of luxury, arts and natur. And he reminded me of the story of the fisherman that was used in the book. Before leaving with my classmates, I could get a quick chat with him about it and he understood the fisherman's point. It was really inspiring to see somebody who is so at peace with himself and what he does. For myself and my journey, I realized that before anything in my worklife, I want to have a job I am passionate about, where I find my purpose.

Hello there
Tumblr media
Hi my name is Toby, I am from Germany and in September I started to study in France. In this block I want to share some experiences and challenges I faced before and since moving. In my studies Program it is mandatory to do a semester abroad. Coming from a business psychologie program, it was clear clear to me I wanted to go in a program that adds additional value to the field I want to work in fashion. After skimming through the partner schools I found two programs with tight connections to fashion one in Italy and one in France. After a talking with the schools advisors, I came to know I wasnt able to do the program in Italy only leaving one option.
After everybody submitted their choices, I came to know I was going to be the only person of my school doing the program at my partner school, on top I was the only person from my Campus and one of 3 students of my home university going to this particular partner university. #StudentLife101:
So I was Paris bound, into a country whose language I hardly speak, with no friends or family coming along. Just because I felt like it's a natural step on the career path I want to choose.
