“Lighthouse" --------------------------------------------------- I’ve always liked this location at night. The waves crash and the salt spray fills the air. The lighthouse illuminates the darkness every ten seconds. There are lots of different compositions even at night. Astrophotography is unforgiving and in the dark, in the early hours of the morning it is easy to make a mistake that ruins the shot. I’ve made mistakes at this site and I keep coming back with lessons learned to try again. This is my first time stacking multiple shots using star stacking software. “Sunset Sprint" ---------------------------------------------------- We finished a long hike to upper Yosemite Falls only half an hour before sunset. I ran from the hotel to this spot by a circuitous route including a river crossing. I set up my tripod and realized I was only a few meters away from a couple enjoying a picnic and some wine in a peaceful meadow now overrun with photographers. I apologized for intruding and they were kind enough not to chase me away. Ryan (@fullstackexplorer) & Chelsea even posed for a portrait.
