I did the English translation of a very well known song in Spanish. To tell the truth, I am not a professional translator, but I did my best to make it at least understandable.

I think what makes it worse is Nathalie is a grown woman. She should know better than to commit terrorism and abuse a child.

Is some of the stuff Marinette does cringey or over the top? Well sure. But she's 14. I'm sure we all knew someone who did a lot worse than babble a lot, flirt with a statue and have pictures on her wall.

I KNOW! Nathalie being an adult is the reason why I find her "notice me senpai" complex disgusting. But let's compare the double standards for Marinette and Nathalie in Chat Blanc alone:

Marinette: *entered Adrien's bedroom to leave the gift and went through his stuff, dates Adrien but decided to break up for his own future and because they made her do it, butterfly effect, apocalypse, got brutally killed, saved the world, didn't take credit for the gift, has permanent trauma, fandom hates her forever for this*

Nathalie: *helped Gabriel break up Adrien and Marinette aka break Adrien's heart, told Gabriel Adrien is Chat Noir, did both without a second thought, fandom is bending over backwards to defend her for both*

Seems right.

“You know, I completely understand that Marinette can be wrong and show “creepy” or “stalkerish” behavior towards Adrien, but I really dislike it when people take EVERYTHING she does out of context or do not read into the plot/subtext at all.

1). She’s a kid. If Chloe’s just a kid for being a bully who literally makes everyone’s lives with her cruelty and selfishness, then Marinette is also a kid for at best for being just creepy or a bit petty at times. Stop with the double standards just because Chloe “had it worse”. 

2). She learns her lesson at the end of every episode or at least feels some remorse for her actions and at least TRIES TO FIX IT. That’s literally what the show is about, even if I DO agree that it’s not handled as good as it should be.

3). Does anyone ever think that she keeps doing the things that she does because no one calls her out???  If what Marinette does is truly wrong, then wouldn’t (or shouldn’t) more people be calling her out on it then??? Sometimes people really aren’t going to realize what they do is wrong until someone tells them and they have consequences for said actions. 

4). People act like that she’s worse or the only one who does these bad or uncomfortable things. I don’t think I have to even sit here and tell you why Chloe and Lila are crappy people. And Adrien nor Alya is any better in that case either. Not even Kagami at times. There are other badly written characters on this show, why just keep throwing Marinette under the bus??? Why isn’t Marinette allowed to be flawed and mess up, but other characters are? I understand that Marinette is to protagonist, but she’s still a child and growing. 

5). Marinette has a schedule of ALL HER CLASSMATES, not just Adrien.

in defense of marinette dupain-cheng:

marinette is a girl who has always suffered from bullying by chloe, she also encouraged more people to bully marinette, most of marinette’s friends helped chloe before alya was in school (max, alix, sabrina, kim, etc).

it has been implied in the series, that made her have a super low self-esteem, and she was someone with very few friends, you will say that her parents are super loving, but in reality they ignored that marinette was a victim of bullying.

not only that, but it also seems that they do not pay attention to marinette, every time something very dangerous happens they never seem to go out to look for their daughter? and it has been shown many times that they are more interested in the bakery than their own daughter (obviously, it doesn't compare to the horrible treatment adrien, kagami, chloe (and even lila, i suppose) receive, but let’s not ignore that)

chloe made marinette a very insecure girl, shown in season 1 in the "origins" chapters. she had a very pessimistic perspective, and she was not sure of being ladybug since she spoiled everything, thanks to the fact that she began to hang out with people like her and that being a ladybug helped her a lot, since she saw how people appreciated her for the first time, that's why she finally raise her voice to chloe.

those problems that she had in the first season returned in season 3 and 4 (specifically in 4), she has mental breakdowns, when she was marinette but also when she was ladybug. she was no longer as sure of herself as before, she no longer believed in herself.

marinette has become a girl who does not trust people much, chloe sided with hawk moth and gave the box of miraculous to him, it took a lot of work to tell someone that she is ladybug, she witnessed chat blanc, lila has gotten her into a lot of trouble, which has caused her to be almost expelled from school, i don't understand how people say that lila's lies are not offensive ... marinette's antis pretend as if all that didn't cause trauma.

she is also a person who has a lot of stress and has symptoms of anxiety:

1. inability to stop thinking about current worry.

2. increased heart rate / slurred speech / hyperventilation.

3. anxious obsessions / hyper fixation.

4. feeling nervous, restless, or tense.

i understand why fans believe marinette is a mary sue, but let's remember something:

- chloe is popular being rude, not even fake like lila

- adrien has many occupations but has many time to be chat noir

- hawk moth is a criminal, why don't the police investigate him?

and much more ... it's sad how marinette, a character who is a minority, gets more criticized while felix, a sex offender, or chloe, a bully, are excessively romanticized and justified.

Not so sure when I salted on Adrien so much. I was a fan for pretty much all of Season 1. But idk, I guess with the fandom’s (and wrtiers’) misogyny influencing the writing, he just became a bit pushy and forceful. Marinette got issues too, but again the fandom’s misogyny just kinda goes overboard with it and excuse Adrien for everything

Ikr!! I hate how misogynistic and racist the fandom and the writers can be! This was the main reason why I became a salter. I can rant about it all day.

I have been learning more about sexism, racism and r*** culture and the ML fandom and Miraculous got a thousand times more creepier for me. The way some Adrien stans blame Adrien's harassment on Marinette, tell her to give Chat a chance, expect her to fix Adrien and get mad at her for thinking of chat as her friend and nothing more is so toxic and creepy.

I never once saw an Adrien salter scolding Adrien for friend zoning Marinette but Marinette salters always blame her for friend zoning chat and tell her to "give him a chance", which make zero sense because they are literally telling her to date someone who she doesn't have feelings for. Do they really want Marinette to take chat on a pity date, because then it would just make chat look desperate and pathetic.

They say that "Chat noir does so much for her and she should date him" which implies that boys should be rewarded for helping or caring for their female friends.

Girls are under no obligations to return boys' feelings or make them feel special for doing something or acting like a normal friend.

I am now beginning to find so many problems with the fandom and show smh. All of this is so frustrating.

People with critical thinking skills who aren't misogynists: Adrien is sexually harassing Marinette and that's not okay. He needs to face consequences for his behavior and the writers need to acknowledge that what he's doing is wrong.

Adrien stans: Oh my god you monster! You bitch! You [insert many ableist slurs here]! You're [insert ableist insults here]! You deserve to die! Why are you making Adrien seem like a monster?????

Adrien stans: *write fanfiction where Adrien literally threatens to rape Marinette to her face, where he stalks her and terrorizes her for months, where he kidnaps her and tortures her, where he traumatizes her and purposefully triggers her into panic attacks and mental breakdowns because it amuses him, where he murders her, where he murders her family to force her to be with him*

Adrien stans: oh my god this is so romantic!!! This is so hot!!!! I'm so in love with this story!!! I ship it so much!!! I love the way you've written the characters!!! I'm on the edge of my seat!!!! This relationship is so romantic!!!!

(I wish everyone who thinks this is an exaggeration a very I hope you never have the misfortune to read the fics I had to read before I gave up forever)
