I think tommy kinard wants to be buck and I think the show is going to explore that. I think he wants to have the relationship buck has with bobby but with gerard. I think he wants to have the closeness of bucks relationship with eddie. I think he wants to have the family buck has at the 118 that made coming out so easy for him.

and I think think that jealousy is going to play a lot into everything that goes on in the coming episodes with their relationship. just like buck is placing his misguided feeling for eddie onto tommy because he was jealous, tommy is only with buck because he wants to be buck.
