Shout Back Festival An anarcha-feminist, queer, radical, anti-capitalist DIY music festival for anyone who wants it or thinks they might want it. A celebration in smashing patriarchy, showcasing artists who are underrepresented. This festival is for everyone who is disaffected or disgusted by the current independent music culture, dominated by straight, white males. We refuse to adapt and accommodate this inherently oppressive, hierarchical structure.  Let’s break the binary and build a new space, one that is safe, and inclusive, based on solidarity. Music for everyone. We aim to affirm and encourage all artists doing it ourselves and empower us to keep moving forward, doing it together. Creating an environment where we break systemic barriers, help foster conversations and build relationships. Offering resources, workshops, and skill sharing. Solidarity in the struggle. Gender Liberation What we have is RADICAL and its time to party HarD.I.Y, shred, sing along, dance our hearts out, be heard, have fun and bring this to all things we do, every action. Because we agree that patriarchy hurts everyone!

Why we need your support This fest is volunteer-run, DIY and anticapitalist. All the money raised will go toward securing venues, feeding festival-goers, helping with gas costs for touring bands, printing posters, making merch. $2000 is the estimated amount to get the festival up and running. Any money remaining from the festival will be evenly split among performers. We are so excited to announce the release our friend Lori Goldston's Self Titled 7 Inch A two song 7 inch. 9 minutes of heavy hard drone and amplified wallowing cello lead. Lori Goldston is classicly trained and avant garde cellist and composer who has collaborated with Earth, Mirah, David Byrne, Nirvana, Jherek Bischoff, Malcom Goldstein, Matana Roberts, Cat power and many more. For this release she is being joined by Konako Pooknyw (Broken Water) on drums, Karl Blau (Earth,) on bass and Dave Abramson (Climax Golden Twins) on percussion. Limited to 300 copies Pressed on black vinyl. Available Fall 2013.
