I hc that Kaeya grew up on fantasy and romance novels but romance novels especially piqued his interest. He was a romantic at heart and he idealized this idea of falling in love too since his biological parents were so in love and he got to see them be practically inseperable. So when he read these novels of fair maidens and gentlemen finding happiness against all odds, can you blame him for being so eager to fall in love too? But things took a turn and soon the hope he had was gone and was instead replaced with burden and hardship. He still wants love but long gone were the days where he dreamed of longing glances and fairytale romance, he became more pragmatic about it. Walled himself up to hide the truth that he desired things, intangible things.

So when Zhongli steps into his life and offers him that same kindness he only read about in novels or had seen from his parents, it feels fake. He pushes it away and casts it aside because no how could it possibly be and besides life has showed him that it is impossible to be selfish bc the world will only hurt you back. He plays along with Zhongli, but when things feel too real or like they’re going too far he unknowingly pushes away someone who arguably wants nothing more than to be by his side—as a friend, as a lover, whatever it may be Zhongli would never push anything onto him that he would not desire. And that’s what scares Kaeya…the choice to love and be loved.

Since my main blog is kind of all over the place and a bit of a mess, I decided to make a side-blog for my art because I wanted to upload consistent content in at least one (1) social media, and even tho I tried with instagram, I’m very bad at it and I only seem capable of shitposting/memeposting on twitter artwise. I can’t promise I won’t stop making meme art bc I like it too much but I want to try and post something every day even if it’s a little doodle so what better place than tumblr where I feel like home in the fandoms I like.

I make sure to have a good experience when interacting in fandom spaces, so I trend to be very selective with who I interact, but I also want to contribute to the fandoms I like reasoning that it’s a way to meet new people and make friends with similar interests, and also because it helps me unwind and practice so I can get better with my art. It’s like a win-win situation (if we don’t focus on haters and stuff but I block people who just give me bad vibes and move on).

Vampires tend to love... uniquely, intensely, breathlessly.

In the majority of cases, they're prone to viewing other beings as nothing more than sources of sustenance or, in the off chance a human proves themselves to be more entertaining than the average — they're usually regarded as possessions. But when a vampire falls in love? The laws that guide the trajectory of their existence stumble from their axis.

Vampire!Alhaitham has never had to worry about these niche concerns, maintaining his peaceful (albeit dreary) life was his sole goal. Complications in his life arise not because of the fact that he's fallen hopelessly in love with a human, but because initially, he's unable to understand the nature of those thus-foreign feelings. Logically so, he was not supposed to end up in this predicament at all. Imagine if a tiger fell in love with a deer mid-chase and started seeing it as a potential partner instead of lunch ; the notion is ridiculous in every sense.

To further complicate things, Vampire!Alhaitham was supposed to get rid of your existence as ordered by the higher ups, you don't even qualify as a blood bag to them. All these preconditions confused and made him think more than he should've. Thus, unnecessarily tangling one single thread in many knots. Alhaitham's strength is keeping lucidity in dire situations, so he's able to identify the subconscious and treacherous pulls of his soul in the direction of something dangerous easily.

Which is why, he opts to try distancing himself after repeated failures in ending the beat of your life. But of course, this too backfires when someone else is appointed behind his back to finish the job and this time, Vampire!Alhaitham allows his feelings to lead him, for once.

His jealousy is quite apparent because it manifests in actions guised under protective measures. Though, he'd like to wholeheartedly believe he isn't jealous, because jealousy to him is an expression of insecurity, of the fact that he isn't confident enough in either himself or you. Ironically, this belief only makes it worse until he's patched up and got you nice and secure in his secrete residence.

Keeping you at a place he knows is safe gives him plenty of time and steadiness of mind to research and learn about these feelings. His aim is, after all, keeping you safe, content and happy. It is through that research that he realizes that jealousy is not just an expression of insecurity ; but of a significant quantity of love and care.

Think about it, why would one even feel insecure of their hold on someone if that person wasn't to a degree... precious to them? Alhaitham understands that, it's the weight of his love for you that makes those irritating and bitter feelings surface regardless of how much he tries to stomp them down. The realization might be faulty, but it pacifies a lot of his inner conflicts and reassures him that he needn't be ashamed of his emotions.

Although, now that he understands another facet of this enigma called ‘love’ and can now rationalize it, his jealousy takes a more insufferable turn — for others, that is.

I love the start of Arc V cause everyone except the main character is doing plot important stuff. Zuzu, Sora, and the Leo trio are off fighting Yuto and Shay, meanwhile Yuya is off doing entertainment duels trying to kickstart his career and we haven’t seen what is assumed to be the appointed rival character in like 10 episodes

I hate, hate when people decide that characters are bisexual instead of gay because they exhibit obviously forced, obviously fake opposite-sex attraction. I find it really ignorant, honestly, because comphet is a pretty universal gay experience.

Like, maybe Zuzu isn’t bisexual just because he had (1) girlfriend and went on a date with a girl (Jin) once. The latter example of which was accepted on his behalf, and he thought Jin consistently visiting the place he worked and looking at him meant she was trying to expose him as a Firebender. Maybe his extremely forced heterosexual romance is a sham, and he’s really into one of the two guys he breaks into a place with and actually has some chemistry with?

Maybe Mike isn’t bisexual, and is instead just a closeted gay boy in the 80s whose friends accidentally peer-pressured him into dating the girl he was keeping in his basement. Like, are you saying he’s just a shitty person? Because if he is attracted to girls as well, he’s just an asshole and kind of a cheater.

Maybe Jamie Kelly isn’t bisexual just because she decided she has a “crush” on the boy Hudson Rivers she consistently describes as just the eighth-cutest boy in school, whom she literally knows nothing about even though she’s apparently “obsessed” with him. Maybe she’s a lesbian and she’s actually interested in Angeline, the girl she has said:

“Angeline turned her cute up to about a seven, causing anybody directly in front of her to feel a mild, but pleasant, burning sensation.”

“My Superpowers of Boyishness have come with a super-weakness. Just like Superman is vulnerable to Kryptonite, my boy powers have made me weak and vulnerable in the way that Angeline makes ALL boys weak and vulnerable.”

those are lines taken directly from the book btw, and far from the only examples. but for concision I will refrain from talking too much about the things she has said about Angeline vs the things she has said about Hudson.

like what is the obsession with making characters bisexual? I mean, I know what the obsession is— they think it’s more progressive. Some people genuinely think portraying a M/F bisexual couple is just as important as portraying a same-sex couple, even though one of those examples will be dubbed into cousins or dubbed to be heterosexual, and one of them won’t.

There’s an idea nowadays that erasure / invalidation is some of the worst oppression you can face but not when homosexuals face it. It’s apparently biphobia to not want another bland straight romance because one or both characters is bi or commonly HC’d as such. It’s a “slur” to use the word “bihet”. I’ve even been told it’s racist to dislike a bland M/F romance because it was interracial and neither of the characters were white and as such, it’s progressive and must be applauded.

Don’t expect this to be coherent or have a conclusion; I don’t. I wrote all of this specifically because I was thinking about a fic I was reading had a bisexual Zuzu (and several other characters) even though they did not bother to tag it as such, and I was a tad peeved.

Adelinde & Kaeya

some fluffy comedy stuff ‼️‼️

So Diluc gives Zhongli the shovel talk (for those who don’t know it’s basically when you’re just like “hey don’t mess with my family you BETTER have the best intentions” blah blah) BUT consider Adelinde who also considers Kaeya her family and how she would react.

I like to think Adelinde is Diluc and Kaeya’s big sister and as one of their primary caretakers she would be aware of the different little signs/signals the boys give (things that others would overlook).

So when Kaeya shows signs of liking someone she gets really nosy but she’s coy about it like “Oh I know I’m just a lowly maid and it’s not my place to pry but—“ [starts prying into Kaeya’s business]. And so she starts playing matchmaker when she figures out who it is (because it’s Adelinde like come on she has a network of gossipers just as Kaeya and Diluc have their spy networks, she’s a smart lady and when she wants to know something SHE WILL FIGURE IT OUT).

She keeps tabs on Zhongli and Kaeya’s whereabouts and constantly insists on Kaeya going on “dates” with Mr. Zhongli even when he doesn’t want to. She even lowkey threatens him in that pleasant tone she has like “Sir Kaeya if you do not go on a walk with that fine gentleman let’s just say this holiday there may be one less delivery to make courtesy of the Dawn Winery”

And Kaeya just SWEATS like “oh dear… when did she get so scary”

But like I said Adelinde gets shit DONE and she knows Kaeya will be in denial of his feelings for years if she doesn’t come in to push him (lovingly of course). 💕
