Finished commission for the talented artist and storyteller @guildwuff2 of their character Zoxu! Thank you so much for allowing me to depict this character. I had a lot of fun!

Every so often, @guildwuff2 will bless me with a sketch of our OCs and brighten up my day! In order we have toddler-age Seffi holding wuff's baby-age Zoxu! The two grew up together despite being from separate families and were all but inseparable when little!

Next up, a tender moment in hard times between the same two. Zoxu was having a rough time and Seffi is always willing to be there with a resassuring hug for her 'cousin't'.

Third, Zoxu and my character Vrexxa shortly after deciding to get to know each other better. Seems one of these two is better with public displays of affection than the other!

Now that I’m back home where all my doodles are, have some more incorrect quotes! These ones, as before, star my partner @foresque’s Jana, and @kiqo-gw2-corner ‘s Muna, but they also feature Kiqo’s asura Yitu, @guildwuff2‘s asura Zoxu, and my other soft charr, Varius!

Won't include Zoxu in this since they're ex-Inquest, buUut I can talk a lil about Chief Security Officer Flixx maybe! This is gonna be mostly an overview of the whole Arc I'd been talking about a while ago, and it was in fact all roleplayed out! (hi im also late to the party shh)

An incredibly talented golemancer and weapons engineer, Flixx carved his way to a high position in the Inquest due to his brains as well as his brawn. He was known for his brutality, cunning, and genius, with an antisocial streak that found him relying on his own golems more than any asura. He was also known for his tenacity, accidents and altercations seeing parts of his body replaced and adapted with magitech over the course of his career. He had a spotless reputation with his inventions, supplying labs and personally guarding other high- value locations.

Until, that is, he encountered a break-in at an Inquest Archive he was tasked with guarding.

Zoxu, in need of the research papers associated with Mu's creation, initially attempted to break into the archive alone; they were discovered, shot, and seriously injured, barely escaping with their life. As this was shortly after they and Mu joined the Priory, several of their fellow Priory members stepped up to attempt a second break-in. This time it was successful!

They recovered Mu's papers, wiped them from the database, and during the break-in Flixx was attacked by a necromantic blood-magic spell that could have very well killed him had he not had a significant portion of his body machined. He was out of commission for several months as the Inquest saw to his recovery, protecting their investment in him.

This cemented a deep grudge for Zoxu and their associates.

His recovery was lengthy, and a few months pass. Flixx had already pulled a dossier on them after their first break-in, including information on Mu's lab, but then he hired an investigator to track Zoxu and gain information; the investigator tailed them, tapped their parents' phone, and eventually, attempted to kidnap them. The investigator was thwarted, and in exchange for his guaranteed safety, he told Zoxu and their associates that they had the full brunt of Flixx's wrath to contend with, more vicious now after his injuries than he'd ever been. The investigator was housed in a prison cell, as the easiest way to keep him safe.

Several months passed, and, now recovered, Flixx made his move.

He sent a specialized golemite to assassinate his former investigator and send a message, declaring his intent to kill Zoxu and steal Mu back, to turn her into a weapon once more. He laid a trap for the Priory, planning to kill them in a building rigged to self-destruct with attack golems deployed to impede their escape. (They escaped! But barely, some of Zo's associates were injured in the fight.)

Mu, frustrated with being forced to hide while her friends are injured, took a trusted friend to help her try to scout for where Flixx might be, and the two were tracked down and kidnapped. It took a week for the Priory to locate where they were being kept, formulate a plan, and make their move to break into Flixx's lab and save their friends and colleagues.

The final fight was brutal; Mu's friend, a powerful Warrior, was hooked up to a machine that directed her warrior magic to a room below, where Mu was being held. Mu wore a hasty proof-of-concept collar meant to control her, and was being imbued with her friend's magic when the rescue party arrived. The group split to save both of their teammates, and Mu was forced into a Rage and attacked the party.

Zoxu and their teammates fought valiantly; Mu was eventually subdued and forced asleep by a spell to end her Rage, and Flixx was whittled down as he and his piloted golem power suit both took damage. Several of the rescue party was injured, and Zoxu had been hurt by Mu and Flixx both in the attack...

In Flixx's final moment, he chose spite. He aimed his damaged suit's arm towards Mu's sleeping body and aimed one last devastating beam of energy. Zoxu, broken on the floor across the room, grabbed their pistol and fired, threading the shot through a gap in the broken suit's shielding, directly into Flixx's chest. His shot missed, and he died then and there.

Mu, her magic-drained friend, and the injured of the rescue party were brought back to their headquarters to recover, and Flixx's body was left in the ruins of his legacy in the Inquest.

awh bless ;; <3 and oh jeez poor vezz, i hadn't realized his exit from the inquest had such a body count,,, Mu could maybe relate to that? she carries quite a bit of guilt about killing people during her own breakout, and unfortunately thst wasn't the last time she's done so 😔

zoxu however! they're a bit wary of other ex-inquest, but they're starting to relax a little. they'd be a little slow to warm up, especially if "he quit his job by killing 50 people" was the first thing they knew about him, but they might start to chill when they figure out why he did it (and relate a smidgen).

@guildwuff2 he'd counter COUNTER adopt you, you know he would.

And honestly he has a lot of respect for anyone who manages to get free of the Inquest, because he knows how hard it can be... especially in the kind of situation Zoxu was in.

For Vezz, he only left with a kidnapped kid to return to her mother. Zoxu left with "Inquest property" (and I hope you can hear him scoffing SO INCREDIBLY LOUDLY from here at the very concept). That's a lot harder to slip out of.

He says, having massacred an entire facility of 50+ researchers AND its overseer when he "resigned."

But really he just. He knows how hard it is. Knows how stressful it is. There's threads there, even if you don't want to admit it. He doesn't know if Zoxu has that kind of sensation towards his old colleagues, but he knows it's something that can be hard to untangle.

TL;DR, he has a lot of respect for him. He gets it. And he hopes only the best for him and Mu.
