GOOD VIBES CHALLENGE: MRS SANTA CLAUS (1996)
@amalthea9 @thealmightyemprex @themousefromfantasyland @the-blue-fairie @goodanswerfoxmonster @angelixgutz @softlytowardthesun @littlewhitebird1904
Following my view of 1940's The Mark of Zorro, now I follow to the second film of the Good Vibes Challenge: The 1996 TV Movie Mrs Santa Claus, staring Angela Lansbury, recomended to me by my friends @amalthea9 @thealmightyemprex and @themousefromfantasyland !
The movie presents us to the grand dame Angela Lansbury as the heroine Mrs. Anna Claus, the wife of Santa Claus who, feeling a bit neglected as both wife and fellow worker in the toy shopp by her husband, who is taking all she does for granted, decides to take the sled and flying reindeer to go in an adventure so she can shake her life up a bit.
Due to getting caught by a bad wether, one of the reindeer gets a hurt leg, making Mrs. Anna Claus need to forcibly land in New York City during the 1910s, where the reindeer will get to recover for seven days in a stable.
As she waits, thanks to the help of italian imigrant Marcello Damoroco, Mrs. Anna Claus goes to get shelter in a little inn administrated by russian jewish imigrant Mrs. Lowenstein, who while always kind and helpful, is constantly stressed with concern for the safety of her daughter Sadie Lowenstein, who is a passionate sufragette ativist with dificulty to get herself heard without being seen as "an annoying nuisance" by most of her neighbours.
To get money to pay for the room in the inn and for food to herself and the reindeer, Mrs. Anna Claus gets a job as a supervisour of the toy shopp of the cruel and greedy Mr Tavish, who exploits child labour in the most harsh conditions and makes them produce bad quality toys so people keep buying more and more to enrich his pockets.
Thanks to her friendship with a little irish imigrant girl named Nora, who works in the toy shopp, Mrs. Anna Claus empathizes with the children's plight and decides to help them to improve their conditions, while back at the North Pole, Santa Claus is learning to value his wife by missing her deeply...
Despite being a TV Movie, you can see that the makers putted all the care in the writing, the production design for the sets and costumes, the photography, the casting and the music, rather than delivering a low qualit product.
The hearth of the movie is its title character: Mrs. Anna Claus is an inspirational and wholesome heroine, who shows that you will never be too old to be curious and have adventures to learn new things.
When she wants something, she goes out to reach it, and while she may not get it when and in the way she expected it, she keeps herself calm, thinks on new strategies and them gives another try. Overall, she is very kind, avoiding calling attention to herself and first resourcing to tranquil argumentation to solve conflicts. But when the oposite side acts too cruel and stuborn, than she does not hesitate in shouting at injustice when is needed.
A highlight I give is when she exchanges ideas with Sadie Lowenstein about reaching goals in activism: Sadie teaches Mrs. Anna Claus a bit about labour's exploitation and how to fight against it with slowing down the production and with strikes, while Mrs. Anna Claus teaches Sadie on how to comunicate her belief on woman's rights to vote in a way that is more gentle and without sounding like she is preaching down to people.
While this exchange dinamic happens, we also see a bigger world with the perspectives of Marcello pursuing an idealist romance with Sadie, Mrs Lowenstein overcoming her fears about the future, little Nora dealing with loneliness as her father works all day to buy tickets for her mother and brother who are still in Ireland, the children who must unite to get their rights, the Police Officer Doyle learning to show a soft side, Mr Tavish dealing with his cruelty and cynicism, and Santa Claus learning to be vulnerable about his feelings for his wife.
The movie is dynamic without feeling that is trowing too much information at the viewer at once, and you can watch it anytime of the year, not only in Christmas.
Its messages about the need of building a comunity to improve oneself and one another, and how we can always learn new good things to make the lives of everyone better, is one that always needs to be teached, and this movie does it very well, with Mrs Anna Claus's kindness and deep sense of empathy.

SPYRO THE DRAGON In The Style Of THE LAST WISH
Here I go again about PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH, a movie that is over two months old and is finally out on physical media formats. I snatched up a copy on release day, in the aftermath of a nasty snowstorm. It was the Target exclusive edition that came with a small 40-page art gallery book, much like the BAD GUYS release that they did. Too bad those editions didn't have the 4K disc. What's up with that?
Anyways, one thing that really struck me about PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH, more so than most of the aspects it has been getting heaps of praise for... Whether it's the themes of valuing one's life and realizing that those who care about you are more important than some perceived glory, or the filmmakers' willingness to go quite hard with a story that's suitable for most children to watch, or the absolutely cool look of the movie... The thing that struck me, personally... I pointed out in my Letterboxd review and another post on here...
There's such a lovely, airy, dreamy, borderline-ethereal tone to this movie that I feel is completely unique to this one movie in the SHREK franchise. It still keeps some of that old-school adventure movie vibe that the first PUSS IN BOOTS movie was going for (Zorro/Three Musketeers/spaghetti westerns/etc.), and it taps back into the SHREK movies' farcical fairy tale stuff (but executes it differently), but the vibe they go for here felt fresh and new. The SPIDER-VERSE-inspired visuals and animation techniques certainly add to that, as it does eschew the ornate detailing of the other SHREKs/PUSS IN BOOTS Uno - and most computer animation films made for a good 20 years, from TOY STORY up until this past decade - for something more like a painted storybook illustration. But no, by the middle of the movie, I was really wrapped up in this movie's feel. Like, even that final shot of Far, Far Away... It just felt so different from what we've seen and known, and if SHREK 5 looks/feels like this does? Hoooo mama.
It ignited so much of my imagination while watching, the way a really striking movie does. I've always loved the fantastical of all kinds, and the dreamy fairy tale aesthetic is one I've always had a soft spot for. The bright colors, magic being everywhere, occasional threat and darkness, beauty in the ethereal, stories operating on dream-like logic more so than a conventional plot. The latter example, I feel, is what separates this movie from SHREK 1-4 and the first PUSS. Those are more conventionally plotted, with fantasy characters and weird elements in them, THE LAST WISH veers more towards the dreamlike quality of a fairy tale. That's especially true of the entire block of the movie that takes place within "The Dark Forest", whatever that dimension may be. But even the scenes outside of that are a bit like that, too. Puss' battle with the giant in Del Mar goes from a Three Musketeers actioner to, like, SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS or something. The filmmakers use animation to transport us into Puss' mind, his feelings, how he's experiencing his "legendary" fight with a behemoth! Hence the flourishes like the dashing lines and effects, the anime-inspired action beats, and so on.
I'm tangenting here, in true form. But yes, the dream-like storytelling, embracing the unreal qualities... It's part of why I love, say, the early Disney animated films of the Walt years so much. Or something like Marcell Jankovics' SON OF THE WHITE MARE (a film that I highly recommend if you've never seen it, it will completely boom your mind open to what an animated fantasy film could look and feel like). It's refreshing to see fantasy like that still thriving...
So, this brings me to... Of all things... SPYRO THE DRAGON.
SPYRO THE DRAGON played an important role in my life as a creator and artist, and I'm not only talking about the original trilogy of games developed for the PlayStation by Insomniac in the late 1990s, I'm talking about the first game specifically.
The original SPYRO THE DRAGON indeed feels kind of sparse and minimal compared to its much-more involved sequels, but part of me really loves it for that... The environments are certainly less populated and feel kind of lonely, I do love and enjoy the company we get in SPYRO 2: RIPTO'S RAGE (GATEWAY TO GLIMMER for any fellow Europeans reading) and SPYRO: YEAR OF THE DRAGON... Yet in a weird way, that almost services everything else. Stewart Copeland's score is also minimal in a way, airy and less genre-buffet like the later games are. Like in SPYRO 2, you have levels like "Zephyr" where the soundscore goes from an acoustic piece with all this weird stuff going on in the background to a completely out-of-the-blue banjo solo, like *that is* great stuff... But in the first game, it's a lot more straightforward. For each and every home world and its individual levels, rather than one level having a wildly eclectic piece of music accompanying it. The Artisan world is cozy and inviting, as a more homey and first hub world should be. The Magic Crafters and Dream Weavers worlds feel so airy and magical, the Peace Keepers world is a little more assertive and harsher in its score given its militaristic desert setting and quite buff dragon population. The Beast Makers' world is shadowy and eerie, yet still effective and beautiful in a way I might not be able to really articulate. Other than that, there are fairies and magic all around, whirlwinds that take you places, all sorts of weird-looking enemies...
SPYRO THE DRAGON feels like a PlayStation One fairy tale. If something like CRASH BANDICOOT was an adventurous Looney Tunes/Tex Avery homage, then SPYRO 1 is a fairy tale. SPYRO 2 and 3 bring it more into fantasy adventure/cartoon territory. What with talking cheetahs and professor moles and more advanced worlds and such. Think levels like Robotica Farms and Metropolis and such. That isn't to say SPYRO 1 didn't have some of that, though. After all, the Beast Makers world was home to Gnorc enemies using electricity, and the final boss in that world was a giant robot using electrified poles to make it operate. But I feel that outside of those few elements, SPYRO 2 and 3 pushed further in a different direction. Again, you have characters like Hunter and the Professor and things like the roller coaster/carnival attractions in Dragon Shores, tech-based levels, silly things like farm animals with saucers and laser guns waging war on a robot city, etc. Like, SPYRO 2 and 3 feel like Disney TV Animation cartoons from the 1987-1994 period, and other such adventure cartoons. The likes of DUCKTALES, TALESPIN, etc. And I mean that in the best way possible. But for comparison's sake, SPYRO 1 is more SNOW WHITE and SLEEPING BEAUTY and early Disney animated films like those, SPYRO 2 & 3 are more Disney Afternoon cartoons. And yet, some of that dream fairy tale quality is not lost in the sequels. One level in SPYRO 3 that always stuck out to me was Charmed Ridge, like it could've very well have been plucked out of the first game if not for the absence of bigger dragons to rescue and the abundance of characters you just wouldn't see in the first game.
But then you strip away the dreamy feel of SPYRO 1, and you've got a stock cartoon set-up. In fact, the bookend cutscenes in the game show the adult dragons being interviewed, complete with boom mics and an offscreen voice saying "Ok, rolling-" It's not taking itself too seriously. Actually, I thought the REIGNITED TRILOGY version of SPYRO 1 did something clever by having Gnasty Gnorc be watching all of this on TV. In the original, he seemed to have overheard the dragons calling him "ugly" and such from faaaaar away... In REIGNITED, he's watching the live interview on an old-fashioned TV. The one element that clashes with the otherwise fantastical, medieval/fairy tale times setting of the first game. Going back to the PS1 version the first SPYRO game, it's understandable. This was Insomniac's 2nd ever game, and their first major success commercially. SUPER MARIO BROS., SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, and CRASH BANDICOOT are kind of barebones first installments when you get down to it, with the sequels adding more and more cool stuff and expanding the worlds/stories along the way, as their respective developers have learned more from their experiences making the first one. Lather, rinse, repeat. So yes, SPYRO THE DRAGON is quite simple: Evil guy with scepter freezes all of your kind and turns your world's treasure into bad guys, standard collect-a-thon set-up. It's 2 & 3 where things get fleshed out more.
So... SPYRO THE DRAGON... PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH... What's the connection outside of how I personally link them up based on some similar qualities?
Well, I would love to see an animated SPYRO THE DRAGON movie. Or a TV series. Anything.
It's a purple dragon with a bit of an attitude that torches bad guys and lives in a cool fantastical world, what's **not** to animate? It's shocking that even Crash Bandicoot doesn't have a feature or a cartoon series. I get it, these things are complicated. SUPER MARIO BROS. got a live-action movie adaptation in 1993 that did so badly, that Nintendo pretty much ruled out big-time movie adaptations of their properties, excluding POKEMON. That a big-time animated Mario movie is coming out now, in 2023, says a lot. Nintendo was super-protective of their IP for so long, and THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE's success (it's inevitable) could only mean more Nintendo movies and shows down the line. SONIC THE HEDGEHOG got the big-time movie treatment merely 3 years ago in the form of a live-action/animation hybrid, then a second movie last year, and now there's a third movie on the way. Lots of other video game adaptations were live-action movies, some with lots of VFX animation and some not so much... Most of them did either so-so or poorly. The 2020 Jeff Fowler-directed SONIC THE HEDGEHOG movie and this new SUPER MARIO BROS. film from directors Mike Jelenic and Aaron Horvath mark a major change in video game movies, I feel. This isn't merely a once-in-a-few-years modest success like the 1995 MORTAL KOMBAT movie or the 2001 LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER movie, or a video game-inspired movie like FREE GUY or READY PLAYER ONE, to say nothing of Disney Animation's WRECK-IT RALPH duology... No, I feel Mario and Sonic themselves have possibly... Broke the dam, and the flood is gonna flooooow-
But, I always wanted to see a SPYRO THE DRAGON movie... And I feel, post-SPIDER-VERSE, post-MITCHELLS VS. THE MACHINES, post-BAD GUYS, post-LAST WISH, post-ARCANE, etc. etc. We're now in this era of painterly, beautifully-stylized computer animation films... I would say CG or CGI films for short, but it's weird using the term "computer-generated" in a day and age of what... Ay-Eye is being used for. Ick. Anyways, we're past ornate detailing and hyperrealism, these films are pushing stylization and giving us illustrations, paintings, concept art pieces... But living and moving. THE LAST WISH is the latest in this train of super-cool movies... So then I pictured it... something like SPYRO THE DRAGON done like that!
I know I'd personally love to see it, I feel that style suits it so wonderfully...

31 and 49 for madwheeler pls? 👀❤️❤️❤️
Mike stretched his legs underneath the blanket, chugging the rest of his soda and throwing the can away, hearing it land somewhere between the table and one of the old shelves, stuffed full of Mike’s childhood toys and his books. They were in the basement, watching a random ad on Mike’s small TV while Max tried to decide on which movie they were watching next.
“Come on,” She turned to Mike. “We have Zorro and The Terminator.”
“Can’t we just rewatch Star Wars?” Mike rubbed his eyes.
“No. We’ve watched it like five times this week. I think I’ll go with The Terminator.”
“Fine. If I fall asleep, don’t wake me up.” Mike said, leaning back on the couch beside Max.
Things were going great between them. They were going more than great - actually, Mike and Max were practically best friends now. Practically. They still refused to say anything about it, but the amount of time they spent together only grew as the weeks went by. Max didn’t go a day without showing up at his house, and Mike called her countless times after she went home.
The party had given them a fair amount of odd looks and grins, and obviously- a fair amount of money had been exchanged between them. Dustin won all of the bets.
Mike realized, with a faint bitterness he had no use for, that things could have been this way from the get go, if only he hadn’t acted so unlike himself that whole year.
If only he didn’t act as if he wasn’t hurting like everyone else. If only he had been more welcoming, he could have had Max’s friendship ages ago.
If only…
He knew he loved Max, now. She was incredible - with her smart comebacks and her endless teasing, her kind words of advice and her loving gestures.
Mike wasted a whole fucking lot of good things he’d have if he hadn’t spent so much time resisting her. Max was a great friend. She, like the boys, knew what he had been through, she had witnessed most of it.
She tried countless times to approach him, to win him over, because she thought he was worthy of her friendship.
That thought left his chest swelling with an odd, uncomfortable feeling he had no idea what to do with. It ached, but in that distinct way when you knew you couldn’t have done any better, then.
Perhaps it was longing.
Mike didn’t really know.
Most of all, he was thankful they had opened up to each other now - and mad at himself for not accepting Max’s comfort sooner, when it would have made such a bigger difference.
Maybe, if he opened up at least to Max after that happened, he wouldn’t have-
“Earth to Mike,” Max snapped her fingers in front of him, startling him. “Care to enlighten me on which of your internal monologues you’re dwelling on right now?”
Mike scoffed. “You wish.”
“Whatever. The movie started. And I asked if you wanted more pop corn.” Max said dismissively, then eyed him from the corner of her eyes when Mike stayed still, looking vaguely at the screen. “Mike. What’s on your mind?” She asked softly.
“Nothing.” Was his immediate response. Then he looked at Max briefly. “It’s just… I don’t know. Things I think about out of nowhere… Then I’m focusing on them.”
“Bad things?”
“No… Not really.” Mike shaked his head, adjusting himself. “I don’t know. Just mistakes I’ve made.”
“Do you want to talk about them?”
“You already know them… I guess I just gotta let them go.”
“Well… did you make it right?” She asked, turning to him.
“Yeah,” Mike exhaled. “Took too long, though.”
“Oh Mike,” She chuckled. “Don’t worry about it, okay? If you’ve made it right, it’s all in the past. Leave it there.” She touched his shoulder, drawing his eyes to her. When his lips curved upwards, she muffled his hair. “Come on, Arnold is about to say the magic words.”
During the entirety of the movie, Max watched him. Mike was leaning into her, his eyes closed peacefully. Sometimes he would mumble, the loud sound of explosions disturbing his sleep. Mike pouted even when he was sleeping. It was oddly… endearing.
She felt him begin to get a little clammy, the dip between his brows beginning to grow wet with sweat. “You’re sweating on me.” She said, and Mike mumbled in response. “Give me your side of the blanket.”
“No.” Mike quipped.
“Then take off your shirt.”
“Leave me alone, Max.”
“You’re not sweating on me, princess. Go lay down on the other side.”
Mike opened his eyes, his face twisted with annoyance as he abruptly stripped his shirt off and got under the blanket again. “Happy?” He huffed, settling beside her again.
“Very.” She said, eyeing the screen.
Mike moved beside her, pulling the blanket down a little. “‘Feels gross.” He mumbled as he moved to rest against the couch, the blanket sliding down to pool around his hips with the movement.
He flinched away immediately when his back hit the couch, the feel of it making him cringe.
Mike was getting frustrated, and seeing that didn’t make Max happy and satisfied anymore. She wanted to give him an ice pack, or even start just blowing wind at him until he felt better. And that- that was scary. How the hell did she end up caring so much about Mike? Oh. Right. Cause it’s Mike.
Mike groaned and leaned against the couch again, closing his eyes. Before she could even realize what she was doing, Max touched his collarbone with the tip of her finger.
Mike didn’t move.
She followed the trace of it, watching him intently. Mike just laid there, breathing steadily as he melted against the couch. She repeated the movement on Mike’s other side, really touching him. If he asked, she couldn’t say it wasn’t what it was now.
Mike’s pale skin was warm and glistening under the dim light, and Max watched his calm intake of breath. She felt like there was cotton stuffed inside her head, her finger dipping down on his chest to rest against his nipple, and Mike’s breath hitched.
“Max,” Mike breathed, his lips parting as she slid her finger down an inch. “What- What are you doing?”
That seemed to break the haze.
“Sorry.” Max blinked, looking up at Mike and retreating, her frecklered cheeks gaining a rich shade of red.
“Max,” Mike repeated, frowning. He was still breathing shallowly, looking at her in sheer confusion. “Did you… Uhm.” Mike watched her.
She stayed in silence, looking down. So uncharacteristic of Max.
“It’s okay.” That was all he could manage to say.
He wanted to ask. He wanted to know what it meant. As Max went back to fondling the dvd caps in her hands, Mike realized he would never know if he let the moment pass. “Max.” He repeated. “What was that?”
“I don’t know.” Max didn’t look at him.
“I- please? Just be honest.”
“I am being honest, Mike.” She turned to him. She looked angry. Maybe a little scared. Like a wild animal caught in an ambush.
“Okay,” Mike said softly, keeping his voice even so he wouldn’t scare her further away. “I’m okay with it. It’s fine, ok? Whatever that was - if… if you meant it-”
“Jeez, Mike. Let’s just forget it ever happened.” She forced out a laugh. “It’s been a weird week.”
Mike swallowed hard. “Max-”
“What!”
“It felt nice!” He shot back.
Max flinched at the words as if they slapped her on their way out.
Mike took in a shallow breath, subtly taking a hand into his own hair and mouthing ‘fuck,’ with all the rage he had in him - his eyes shut tight as Max looked at him in confusion.
“What?”
Mike sighed and crossed his arms, refusing to look at her. “Like you said, a weird week.” He huffed.
“Did you seriously like that?” Max asked.
“What do you mean?” Mike just huffed. “I’m a guy.”
“I barely- Now that’s self explanatory.” Max said, a hint of humor in her voice. “Hormones and shit.” She added more quietly.
Mike felt himself loosen up a little. He smiled, scratching his brow. It took one look at Max for him to laugh, rubbing his eyes as he heard Max laugh with him. “We’re fucked up.”
“Yep.” Mike said, smiling. “I’m glad we know that now.”
“Can I kiss you?” Max asked.
Mike froze.
He dared to look at her. “Wait, really?”
Max’s bottom lip was quavering, and she had gotten pale. But she kept his gaze. “Yup. I want to kiss you. If you don’t want that, we can just forget this ever happened. Like ever.”
What the hell is happening right now-
“Uh, yes. Yes!” Mike gulped. “Why not.” He shrugged awkwardly, his heart thumping so hard on his ears he worried Max would hear.
“Doesn’t mean anything,” She whispered, leaning into his space.
“Doesn’t mean anything.” He repeated, parting his lips as he put his hand on her jaw.
With a soft sigh, he joined their lips.
Shit.
Mike traced her bottom lip softly with the tip of his tongue.
She swiftly parted her lips, burying her hand in his soft locks.
It doesn’t mean anything.
Mike felt her sigh into the kiss, pulling him closer by his neck and licking at the roof of his mouth.
Mike straight up moaned against her, feeling his cheeks on fire.
I’m screwed.
She only kissed him harder. Mike groaned, reaching down and lacing his arms around her waist.
Max was eager to take the hint, quickly throwing her leg across his hips and straddling him.
They both sighed at the same time, pulling back barely an inch.
We’re screwed,
What’s wrong with that, anyway?

Dashing Rose: A Finding You Always Vignette
Also on Fanfiction.net and A03
Chapter 4: The Resistance
What ensued that night, beneath the stars, cemented the bonds of true love between Rose Red and Fandral of Asgard, as they made love for the first time. Clothing was divested slowly, amid hot, passion filled kisses, until they were both bare.
"You are so beautiful…" he uttered, as he stared at her bare form, but he wasn't the only one doing the admiring. Her love was a strikingly handsome man; she had known that from the moment she lay eyes on him. But to see him bare like this ignited the desire in her even more. He was gorgeous, from head to toe, and everything in between. She didn't have much to compare his anatomy to, but she was positive that he was far above most men. His strong, powerful arms held her tightly, as he kissed her throat and she thrilled at the feel of his hard body against her. She explored his chiseled chest and carved abs with her hands and their eyes met, as he settled between her legs. She gazed below his waist and had to bite her bottom lip to keep a moan at bay. He was very aroused and she was as well and she knew it was time for the part that came next.
"Are you ready?" he asked in a husky voice.
"Yes…" she breathed, as he gently kissed her and then slowly pushed inside her. A sharp moan escaped her lips, as there was a bit of pain and he stilled to let her adjust to the feeling.
"Don't stop…" she urged and he began to move, slowly building a rhythm and gliding into her. Rose was soon beside herself in pleasure, as the pain faded quickly and was replaced by pure pleasure. It only got better from there, as she was soon writhing beneath her beloved and her first climax hit her. Whatever she thought it might be like was exceeded ten times over at that moment.
"Oh...ohhhhhh…" she cried loudly, as it hit her and she thrashed passionately amid his surging thrusts. He was beside himself as well and only his enhanced stamina kept him from losing control prematurely, for she felt incredible around him, so slick and tight that it was mind blowing.
He held her through her orgasm and finally reached his own, coming inside her, before they collapsed in a tangled heap. He gently covered their bare forms with a blanket and they cuddled together, exchanging soft kisses in the afterglow.
"Oh Fandral...that was...far beyond anything I could imagine," she admitted.
"For me as well…" he confessed and she blinked up at him.
"But...you have been with others," she said.
"But I have never truly been with someone I love with every fiber of my being. It truly makes all the difference," he replied.
"I love you, my handsome warrior…" she breathed.
"And I you, my sweet Rose," he said, as they melted into each other once again.
~*~
Screams of terror echoed into the night sky, as King John's army ravaged the small village and it burned brightly in the night sky. The carnage was enough to make anyone retch and bodies were strewn about, as the King took his revenge on his wayward niece. By morning, nothing but smoking cinders remained and soldiers awaited to ambush Rose Red and her love, for they knew they would hear and soon come.
~*~
After waking that morning, they ate the game they caught together and cleaned up in the creek, rather amorously, before dressing and moving on. An hour into their journey, an anxious bluebird found them and relayed his message to her.
"What is it?" he asked, as he saw the horror that was now stricken on his love's beautiful face.
"It's the village nearest the castle...it's gone. He has burned it and slain everyone!" she cried, as she collapsed into his arms, sobbing in grief.
"Oh my angel...I am so sorry…" he said, feeling helpless that there was nothing he could do to take her pain away.
"I need to see it…" she confessed.
"My love...that is likely a horrible trap," he said.
"I know...but they are my people. I must see it...I must let the other villages know that this will not stand! That I will never let my Uncle slaughter more of my people!" she cried.
"Then we will go...and we will fight," he promised, as he mounted the horse and reached down to lift her onto the animal as well. She held onto him tightly, as he took the reins and urged the horse to take them there as fast as he could.
"Is the ambush ready, Sir Hiss?" King John questioned, as he slithering adviser slipped into his Throne room.
"It is Sire...but our attack has angered the people, rather than beat them into submission. If Rose Red rallies them...then our objective could backfire," Hiss warned.
"I will not be usurped by that stupid girl and her Asgardian brute!" John snapped, as he stood up.
"This is my Kingdom!" he ranted.
"Send word to the other allied Kingdoms. Promise them whatever you have to for their assistance in our cause!" he demanded. Hiss bowed.
"Ye...yes Sire," he stammered, as he scurried away. Even if he couldn't get support from allied Kingdoms, he still had the dwarf working on something that he was certain would eliminate the problem of his niece and her Asgardian lover.
~*~
When they arrived at the village, Rose choked back tears, as she gazed at the devastation before them. The village was still smoldering and the air was filled with acrid smoke. She walked slowly into the rubble and felt something under her boot. She lifted her foot and noticed that it was part of a stuffed toy. The damn broke at that point, as she doubled over and cried. Fandral held her tightly in his arms and she sobbed against his chest.
"I'm so sorry, my angel," he whispered to her, feeling helpless since not even with all his strength and skill as a warrior could he have stopped this. She looked up at him with a tear-stained face and his reflexes were quicker than lightning, as they heard a twig snap. He unsheathed his blade and held her tightly around the waist with his other arm.
"Fandral…" she whispered, as soldiers emerged from the woods all around them.
"An ambush…" he realized, as he guarded her.
"Your time is at an end, Princess. King John has ordered your capture and the execution of your lover," one of the soldiers said.
"That will not be easy to accomplish at all," Fandral warned.
"You cannot duel us all and protect the Princess too," he goaded.
"Who says I need protecting?" Rose hissed, as she unsheathed her own sword and stood ready beside her beloved. The men charged them and they fought fiercely, taking over half of them down on their own. But the remaining soldiers slowly surrounded them.
"Surrender Rose Red...and we will spare you the pain of executing him in your presence. I am sure King John would enjoy witnessing his demise anyway," the lead soldier said.
"Fandral…" she uttered, as she realized their escape might not be possible.
"Stay close, my angel...this isn't over just yet," he assured, as he surprised the lead soldier and charged him, swiftly cutting him down. The other soldiers practically mauled him, but that was his plan.
"Run Rose!" he called, as a few of them tried to subdue her, but she picked them off with her arrows.
"I will not leave you, my love," she refuted, as she charged toward the soldiers and screamed, as one of them speared her beloved through his shoulder. It was a weak spot. He had told her of his injury in the same spot with a frost giant, during a foolhardy mission with the mighty Thor.
"FANDRAL!" she cried, as she hurried toward him, cutting down any that tried to stop her. He looked at her in awe, as she reached him and she examined his wound.
"It's minor…" he said, through the pain and she caressed his face, as the remaining soldiers surrounded them.
"Surrender now, Princess and make this easier on yourself," a soldier warned, but there was a thwacking sound, as he took an arrow to the chest and fell dead to the ground. Rose and Fandral looked at each other in confusion, as the remaining soldiers were taken down. They looked around and were ready to fight again if needed, as there would be rescuers emerged from the woods. Many of them looked to be commoners, armed with daggers, bows, and arrows. But their leader certainly stood out and Rose recognized him from stories she had heard in neighboring Kingdoms. He wore all black and was armed with a blade, but most noticeably, he wore a black eye mask over his eyes.
"Your Highness…" he said, addressing her with respect.
"I've heard of you...I didn't know if you were real. My library has many stories about you," she replied, earning a smirk from him.
"Rose...who is this?" Fandral asked.
"I am known simply as Zorro, a vigilante and fighter for the people, much like yourselves and I can no longer ignore King John's tyranny after he slaughtered this village," Zorro replied, as he and the other ragtag band of villagers bowed to her.
"I have gathered the able bodied and those willing to fight. It will not be easy, but you are the rightful Queen of this land and the people are more than fed up with your greedy Uncle," he continued.
"Fandral and I wish to take back the Kingdom from him...but it's a massive undertaking. I'm not sure I can ask my people to put their lives on the line for me," she said with uncertainty.
"You do not have to, Princess. King John must be dethroned and the people are ready to form a resistance," one of the villagers said.
"We just need your leadership," Zorro added. Fandral smirked.
"And you shall have it, for Rose is the rightful Queen and John must be dethroned," he said in agreement.
"My love...how can I be Queen? I...I am no Queen," she said dejectedly.
"That is your Uncle talking, because you, my angel, are the Queen that this Kingdom deserves," he replied, as he turned to Zorro and the makeshift band of rebels.
"And together, we will take back this Kingdom!" he announced.
"Excellent...the nearest village to here has rations waiting for us and first aid to take care of that shoulder," Zorro said, as they followed him and the other men.
"Are you sure about this? I do not know the first thing about being Queen," Rose whispered to her beloved, as they trekked along, hand in hand.
"You are kind and wise, far more than you realize. You knew who he was from your books," he pointed out, making her think for a moment.
"You rushed headlong into battle to avenge your people and when I was in peril, you let none of them stand in your way," he continued.
"You love your people and they love you. They want you as their Queen and I, for one, know that they have made the correct choice. You are willing to fight for them, which means they are willing to fight for you," he added.
"Your quiet, gentle patience and your knowledge reminds me of Queen Frigga," he said.
"Queen of Asgard," she recalled. He nodded.
"She was a great Queen...and you will be too," he said, as he kissed her tenderly and her heart fluttered. The heat rose to her cheeks, as they had arrived in the village and her romance had quickly become a popular topic. Many of the other women gave her knowing smiles and the younger girls seemed enamored by their love story. Word about them had certainly traveled fast and somehow, their love had inspired hope in her people, just as it had in her.
"Come...we need to look at that wound, my love," she urged, as she led him along to the cabin belonging to the local healer. The fight to take back the Kingdom had begun and King John's days on the Throne were numbered...

What is your earliest memory of a spirit, and did you know then, or did you come to realize later on? How did you know?
What a fun question--thank you!
My first spiritual experience was pretty intense. I’m going to describe it how I remember it, but I was an extraordinarily dramatic three year-old when this happened. They say that kids are more open to spiritual experiences than adults. I don’t know. I haven’t had anything quite so dramatic happen since, but, like I said, I was three. I also believed that I could grow up to be Zorro.
It was the middle of the night, and I couldn’t sleep. My family was being visited by a distant cousin who everyone loved but no one got to see because he lived far away, and I was too excited to sleep. So, I decided to get up and play my little toy xylophone. How I got away with this at like 4 AM in a bedroom that shared walls with my parents’ bedroom, I have no idea, but I did. I got away with it for so long that I got bored playing for myself.
I grew up in a very religious Evangelical family. By the time I was three, I was already fairly well familiar with the bare-bones basics of Evangelical theology for kids: There is a God out there who loves you and wants to be your friend. I figured, if my parents enjoyed my music, why wouldn’t God? So, I decided to make up a song on my xylophone for him and play it for him.
What I remember is like something out of the movies. The room filled with a soft white glow. I felt the intense feeling you get when someone is giving you their absolute rapt attention. I felt this warmth in the middle of my chest mixed with joy that felt like it came from outside me.
I had absolutely no doubt about what was happening. I tore out of my room and ran to my parents’ room yelling, “I have Jesus in my heart! I have Jesus in my heart!” My father muttered something it’s probably good I couldn’t hear distinctly and sent me back to bed.
In the morning, my parents brushed off the experience and shushed me for the sake of my clearly sleep-deprived, agnostic cousin (sorry, coz), but I spent the rest of my childhood and adolescence trying and failing to talk to “God” again. Even though everyone around me had candid conversations with God all day long (and tried to help me fix my inability to do this...I was the Evangelical equivalent of the non-magical kid in a wizarding family), I never contacted the Christian God.
I put God in quotes above because my current theory is that I called someone else. The image of God I had in my head when I was three was not at all like the God my family worshipped. I think I know who it was. No other spirit I’ve worked with has been able to make my chest feel warm like that, and he can, but he’s definitely not the Father, Son, or Holy Ghost.

the masks of Zorro (or five times Regina was Zorro)
because she was. That’s how it went.
Many thanks to @holdouttrout, who is the best fish with a pair of pom-poms.
Regina loves the Zorro story and dresses as the bandit to escape her prison in Leopold's castle. In the newly united realms, she's Zorro once again but Zorro is Lily's father.
What does that mean?
(fluffy dragon queen with some friendship with Snow and some Alice/Robin, as they are adorable)
also on ao3
Coronation -
Regina pulls her into the far corner of the room, behind heavy purple tapestries. She’s always had a talent for finding these hidden niches of castles. Maleficent smiles at her for a moment, then drops into a deep curtsey.
“Your Majesty.”
“Stop that.”
“Oh no, dear, I would never want to be the object of the Good Queen’s ire.”
“Stay down there and you will be.”
Mal tilts her head up and smirks. “I thought you liked it when I worked my way up from the floor.”
Regina rolls her eyes but the hint of pink in her cheeks suggests she does remember. “Are you here to tease?”
Rising to meet Regina’s eyes, Mal strokes Regina’s cheek. “I don’t know, you brought me here.”
“Well, you told my sister Zorro was Lily’s father.” Capturing Mal’s hand, she holds it in both of her own. “Zorro? Really?”
“You were wearing a mask the last time we--”
“Yes, yes, but-” Regina’s voice deepens, “she’s going to keep looking for Zorro. She can’t leave anything alone.”
Leaning close to her so that Regina’s pinned between her and the wall, Mal takes a moment just to breath in the scent of her. Curse after curse, Regina disappears, but she returns, and she always smells so delicious.
Regina catches her waist. “Or Henry, he loves a mystery.”
Mal kisses her cheek, just forward of her ear. “Zorro has never been found, that’s part of her appeal.”
Shivering, Regina sighs. “She could find you tonight.”
“Oh?”
“It’ll be hours before i can get away from this but if you’re patient--” Regina kisses her, pressing their lips together as she stands on her tiptoes.
She’d wait decades. Centuries. “All the castles of all the realms are here now, even mine. I believe Zorro knows exactly how to break in.”
Laughing, Regina strokes her waist, her fingers like embers through Mal’s dress. “Will she need to climb the tower?”
“Magic would be fine.”
Regina grabs her hands, turning her so Mal’s up against the wall before she kisses her again, hot and demanding. “Good. You might be patient...Zorro is not.”
The promise of later sends heat racing beneath her skin. Regina traces the letter Z on Mal’s breast, marking her. It leaves no visible trace, but it burns all the same.
2. Bedtime -
Daddy only sat on her bed next to her when it had been a very hard day and Mother was very cross. She wasn't sure what she'd done, just that it wasn't ladylike. (That was always the problem). Daddy would say that it wasn't her fault, that it was the kingdom or economics or other words that Regina was still struggling to put meanings too.
Mother did not want to be poor again.
Daddy didn't know what it was like to be poor. Mother constantly said he had no idea. He'd never missed a meal.
Regina lost her rights to dinner several times a month if she wasn't careful. She'd gotten to eat tonight because she hadn't been that bad, but Mother was angry. Her eyes were cold. Regina must have done something.
Daddy pulls her close to him and opens the book. "Tonight, I want to read you one of my favorite stories, from my kingdom. It's a myth, which means it might not be true, but what's important is that it's a good story. Full of heroism and hope, and a mysterious girl in a mask."
"A mask?"
"She has to hide her identity so no one knows that she is the lady of the realm."
"Why can't they know she's the lady?"
"Because she does very un-ladylike things."
"Does she get in trouble?"
"You'll have to listen to find out." He clears his throat and begins, "Once, not so very long ago, in the kingdom by the sea, there lived a wealthy nobleman, Don Diego de la Vega, and his only daughter, Elena. By day, Elena was a proper lady. She could dance and sing, write poetry and play several musical instruments, but by night she would wear a mask and sneak out of the estate, righting the many wrongs done to her people by a cruel and unjust king."
"She snuck out of her home?" Regina asked, staring wide-eyed at the illustration of a young woman wearing a black mask over the top of her face. She looked so wild and free. Her hair was even curly and messy, the way Mother hated.
"She did, under cover of darkness."
"Why? Didn't she get in trouble?"
"Keep listening to the story, and we shall find out."
3. Midnight -
As the queen, she rarely left the castle. On some special occasions she traveled with her husband (though he preferred the company of his precious Snow White). Most weeks could pass without her outside the walls, sometimes months.
Her prison was polite. Her servants tended her perceived needs (not what she actually wanted, heaven forbid she experience that particular pleasure). Pleasure was as distant as freedom. She'd perfected the art of distance with Leopold. She could go days without the touch of anyone but her maid, weeks without a caress, even an empty one.
That night she caught herself, looking too long into the fire, imagining how it would feel on her skin.
She had to escape, just for a night, a moment.
Donning the black leather and the mask made her as invisible she kept her own loathing of this wretched castle. The guards are laughable anyway, but sneaking past them without magic makes her heart beat faster.
She needs that. The rushing in her ears reminds her she's alive. She matters. The king ignores her and Snow treats her as another trick pony, but she can scale the walls with a whip and a rope, slip into the stable and steal Rocinante right from under their noses.
Then she's free, riding through the darkness, depending on his eyes, with just the wind and the stars. Rocinante knows the way as well as she does, but he avoids the castle itself and heads for the the stable. He can smell the dragon and nothing will convince him that doesn't mean death.
Mal jokes that she hasn't eaten many horses (too stringy), but that does not convince him. She leaves him here, removing his saddle and wiping him down. He'll be well fed, upwind of the castle.
The great, heavy castle door will open for her, sense her magic and let her in because Mal likes that better than guards and butlers. The few she'll allow as visitors have magic, so that's an easy enough spell.
However, it doesn't fit with the masked bandit mystique to walk through the front door. It's foolish, unladylike, distinctly un-royal, and Regina can hear her mother's disapproval as she aims the whip upwards. Mal's castle is old, and the stones are sturdy. Regina's whip sings upwards in the darkness and she climbs, fingers finding familiar holds on the cold stone.
Maleficent has her back to the balcony. Her skin steams in the candlight of her bedroom, and the soft black around her bare shoulders is just her robe. Water traces the skin of her neck, and Regina's fingers could follow those droplets down if they weren't cold and cramped from the climb.
She blows on them, alerting Mal to her presence.
Shutting her eyes, Mal smiles. "You can just use magic, you're quite welcome."
"It's hardly what a masked bandit would do."
"I doubt a bandit would just stand there, letting me stare at myself in the mirror."
"Depends on what she's after."
Turning slowly, Mal lets her robe fall almost open, exposing her bare stomach. "My hoard's deep in the dungeon but I don't know if that's what this bandit is after."
Regina chuckles, unable to drag her eyes up from Mal's nearly naked body. "If I had your hoard, I could buy my own kingdom."
"You might need more than one horse to take it all."
"That would seem to be an oversight on my part." She draws her sword, but sets it aside. "Suppose there's no point in threatening you then."
"I have a few trinkets you could take some baubles, some gold." Mal lets her robe fall from her shoulders and stands before Regina, bare and playful. "If that'll placate you."
Toying with the whip, Regina stalks closer. Letting the leather run over her fingers, she flips it out, wrapping it around Mal's waist like a dragon's tongue. "It might take more than jewels to placate me."
Mal's fingers dig into her shoulders, warm and strong. "I was hoping you'd say that." She leans in, their mouths only a breath away from each other, but she waits, letting Regina take the kiss.
She's a thief, after all. Regina stand on her tiptoes, pulling Mal's head down, her fingers wrapped in her wet hair. She's breathless in a moment, burning. Mal kisses her back, pulling her closer, pressing her skin against Regina's leather.
They break, catching their breath. Mal traces her mask with her fingers. "Maybe you should leave this on."
"Yes?"
"Oh yes."
4. Masquerade -
Regina had never enjoyed the balls she'd thrown as Snow's step-mother. She'd done her duty, planned and and smiled, but Snow knew now that had been farce. The misery she'd ignored as a young woman would be something she'd notice now.
But now Regina's smile is real as she greeted her guests, and the way she laughs has no trace of the old hollowness. This is peace. Regina is their good queen, all grace and power.
And the realms are prosperous and calm, at least, as much as they can be, considering they're sharing borders and territory in a way they never had before. There's so much magic in the enjoined realms that it thrums in the strones enough that even Snow's vaguely aware of it.
Regina's held it together, and Snow knew she would. She's who they needed, and she even seems happy.
Truly happy.
Snow straightens her own mask, white and feathered because she and David are a pair of swans. It made Emma smile, seeing her parents as her namesake, and David keeps joking about the feathers drifting over the ballroom. White is always a color she's felt at home in. Something that suited her.
Regina's in black, which Snow once feared. Black came with her false mourning and never left her, but this black comes with gentleness, with softness. Perhaps it's in her posture, how she holds herself, but this leather holds none of the malice Snow used to know. This costume isn't to intimidate the kingdom, or frighten anyone, but it is specific.
Regina chose this leather, down to the mask around her eyes. It's smooth, devoid of lace or other adornments. Snow's heard the stories that accompany this mask, Zorro is an ol folk hero of the southern regions, the lands where Regina's father was once a prince.
Maybe she misses him tonight, looking over all that they've built, or this outfit reminds her of a simpler time.
Still, something nags at her. Zorro, the sword-wielding bandit. There are more appropriate choices, brighter things that the good queen could have worn. She takes another flute of champagne and watches Regina speak to nobility while the bubbles tickle her tongue. It's not until the silver dress passes Regina, gliding by like a ghost of grey twinkling light, that Snow follows Regina's eyes with her own.
She covets, like a bandit or a thief, she wants something wrapped in grey chiffon.
Snow's distracted when Elsa speaks to her, pulled from her observations to make small talk and she never gets a glimpse of the face in the grey dress. Regina's gone as well, vanished as though swallowed by the mist.
It nags at her, like she's missing some kind of clue, forgetting something small preference, some story Regina told her years ago.
Zorro is famed for vanishing without a trace, and perhaps that's the joke tonight. As queen of all the realms, Regina is least capable of vanishing, most recognizable, most needed. Maybe she enjoys this moment of stolen anonymity. Stealing nothing of material value, but a moment to pursue the woman in grey that she might not have as the good queen.
Snow catches Regina later, standing beside the fountain, laughing while she shares a drink with the woman in grey. From this angle, Snow can see her mask, and the stranger wears the sparkling mask of some kind of fish. Perhaps an eel? Some sea creature Snow can't put her finger on. She's taller than Regina, her blond hair tucked up in an elegant knot of curls. Her bearing is familiar, and after a moment, Regina leaves with her, walking away from the rest of the party.
Something about Zorro tugs at her memories, something she's missing. David slips his hand into hers.
"Looks like Regina's found someone interesting." He kisses her cheek. "Good for her."
"Yes, she seems to be having a wonderful time."
"What?" David turns his smile on her. "What is it?"
"Have you heard Regina read Zorro to Neal?"
David blinks and takes a sip of his champagne while he thinks. "I know she enjoys the story, but I can't say I've paid that much attention."
"I haven't either, but I know she loves the story, and that's her costume."
"She likes it."
"Yes." That's not it though. There's something more to it than Regina's favorite legend. Snow can't remember what.
"She's having a good time. Being the Good Queen of all the realms hasn't worn her out completely."
"I didn't think it would."
"Uh-huh." David wraps his arms around her waist, holding her close. "She's found someone interesting, she's having a magical night. Be happy for her."
Resting her hands on his, she nods. "You're right."
5. Unmasked -
Regina's hands run up her neck, tangle in her hair and pull her closer. There's barely a breath between them; pressed bodice to bodice so every beat of Regina's heart echoes against her chest. Her lips taste of champagne and promises Mal doesn't want to believe in, yet does.
She can't help it.
Regina possesses her, commands her heart in a way that frustrates and enthralls her. Centuries of solitude and now she can't imagine that loneliness again. She strokes Regina's leather mask, smiling as their eyes meet and they pause for air.
"I've captured a bandit."
"Maybe that's part of the game."
Mal traces her fingers along Regina's wrist, then holds it to the wall. "You lull me into a false sense of security, then escape, taking all my jewels?"
Leaning in, Regina nips her neck, her mouth hot and tantalizing. "I wouldn't dare."
"So I'm safe with you, dear?" Mal suppresses a shiver, poorly, because Regina grins all the more.
"Maybe your jewels are safe." Regina insinuates her leg a little forward, forcing it between Mal's own and even against the wall, she's hardly trapped. Her skin tight leather gives her all the room to maneuver that Mal's skirts do not.
It's too public a place to ravage her here, and too early to leave the party s they fall back into kissing, deep and hungry. Regina's not riding off into the night, but they press themselves together as if it's the last time they'll be here, like this, for years.
Maybe it's because it's been years.
Centuries. Eons. Time immemorial since they kissed this way.
The throat clearing means nothing. Bells, whistles and trumpets would barely get through her concentration on Regina's tongue in her mouth.
"Auntie Regina?"
Regina continues to kiss her, as if her disguise could hide her a moment longer, the they have to break.
She hates everyone else at this party. Throwing a sleeping curse on the castle will hardly help because so many of the people here are already immune.
"Robin? Do you need something?" Regina slips from her hands, remarkably composed. She's always had that skill, even as a young queen.
Cooling her desire is more difficult, but Mal turns, reaching for her quietest thoughts and the reptilian stillness Lily gets so mad at her for. Beside Regina's niece is her lover, Alice, who will not stop smiling.
"Snow wanted to speak with you."
"But we see you're very busy with affairs of state."
"Quite," Regina straightens her mask, ignoring the jibe. "I'd like you to meet Lady Maleficent of the Northern Reach."
"The dragon," Robin whispers to Aiice, and Mal's probably not supposed to hear but humans whisper so loudly.
Alice's eyes grow wide. "I've read about you."
"All terrifying, I assume."
"The phrase 'mistress of all evil' was used a few times."
Maleficent traces her hand up Regina's neck, just out of sight of the young women. "Good."
Regina presses her lips together, but keeps her face smooth and calm. "She exaggerates, her kingdom is actually very stable."
"It's a dreadful place to live."
"Because of the weather, dear," Regina reminds her, ruining her carefully constructed facade of being a terrible ruler.
"Quite snowy up there?" Alice says, ever curious. Robin keeps staring though, as if she's realized something important.
"Nice costume, Auntie."
"Thank you. I always loved Zorro."
Robin nods. "I remember you reading the story." She grabs Alice's hand tighter, not subtly at all and something passes between them in looks and unsaid words. Something about Zorro?
Well, it wasn't that good of a secret anyway. Anyone with half a brain could figure out Zorro's not a dragon.
"Could you give us a minute?"
"Of course," Regina answers politely, ever gracious.
Maleficent would give them several minutes if it meant she and Regina could continue where they left off but they've been found now. It's only a matter of time before--
"Regina, there you are."
They're truly caught now. Snow White never lets Regina get away with anything fun.
"Did you need something?"
"I need you, naked but for the mask," Maleficent whispers into Regina's ear.
She blushes slight, as she rarely does, and her lips twist. This party will not be over soon enough.
Down the corridor, Alice and Robin's at all secret conversation involves Lily's name and Zelena and a not so secret may have revealed itself. It seems that has been guessed by the size of Alice's eyes, something Regina notices as well. Her fingers slip into Mal's, not to tease, but as a sign of unity.
Snow stares at them both, reading with her eyes. "Enjoying the party?"
"Yes, very much."
"You must have been dancing," Snow observes coyly. "You're all flushed."
"It's warm," Maleficent replies lightly.
"Especially next to a dragon."
Mal and Regina meet Snow's eyes together.
"Quite," Regina says, her fingers still wrapped in Mal's.
"You know, there's this story about Zorro that's been bothering me, because I wasn't sure if it was true, perhaps you'd know, Regina."
"I might."
Alice and Robin draw closer, wanting to listen to whatever Snow has to say.
"In this story, Zorro had a daughter, and couldn't be with her because of something terrible that happened. In fact, Zorro didn't even know about the child until she was grown."
"Sounds very tragic."
"It was." Snow's voice softens, and that's almost an apology. "I can't remember the ending, but I hope it's a happy one."
Mal squeezes Regina's fingers and shifts a little closer. "It might be."
"Everyone deserves a happy ending, right?" Alice pipes up. "We're all finding our family again."
"Maybe not finding with our mouths," Robin mutters but Mal has to smile at that.
She'll find Regina however she can.
"In the story I've heard," Regina finishes, "Zorro finds her daughter, and it's a surprise, of course, but a welcome one. Zorro's had to live a double life for so long, she can't trust that she could be happy, but, she's getting there."
"We all are." Mal kisses her forehead, right above the mask.
"Good!" Snow beams at them both, her hands wrapped together. "I'll let you get back to your dancing."
"And negotiations," Robin adds, winking. "Don't make her fight too hard."
"She enjoys it with me," Mal teases, and the sudden pink on Snow and Robin's faces is worth it.
Alice just grins. "Sounds like fun."
"It's a beginning," Regina says, her eyes liquid through the mask. "I hope it's a happy one."
"It is." They're well past a beginning to their story, but as middle's go, this is a pleasant turn of events. She has Regina again, the world is remade and full of promise and Lily has all the time she needs to get to know both of her mothers.
Mal follows Regina out onto the balcony, looking down over all the realms. "How do you think this story goes?" she asks, her hand still in Regina's.
"I don't know. So many that begin happily end in tragedy that I don't know how to trust this."
"But you'd like to?"
"I need to."
They kiss again, hungry for the promise of each other.
"Me too." Mal traces the leather mask and smirks. "I'm afraid a bandit stole my heart a very long time ago."
"She did?"
"I believe she's kept it safe."
"I didn't think bandits were sentimental."
"This one might have a soft spot for me."
Regina laughs and kisses her cheek. "Perhaps that the case. I guess you'll have to find out." She plays with the whip at her waist, just for a moment and again, the need to be alone with her, far from everyone else is nearly overwhelming. "Maybe I should just kidnap you, so no one else can interrupt."
"I think that's how the story might go."
"Well then."
A flick of Regina's wrist and they're gone, whisked away in smoke to Regina's chambers, where they can finally put that whip to good use. Mal tingles at the thought.

In extension warehouse, there exist different types of sketchup extensions or plugins and among them, some are most popular. In this sketchup article, you will be familiar with some of the most popular sketchup plugins due to their extensive FPS toolbox.
1. Selection toys: Selection toys belong to a vital extension for all modelers and for any type of modeling to facilitate the users to filter objects in and out of a earlier selection. The users will be able to both select and deselect only edges, groups, components or entities which contain some specific properties like hidden, soft or smooth etc.
This extension can be used for several purposes like concealing bounding edges, optionally employing materials and more.
2. Selection Memory: This extension allows the users in recalling the selections created in SketchUp in order that people never miss any selection for any model or size.
3. Weld: This extension includes the loose edges into a soft curve to be chosen in a single mouse click. This extension can be utilized to avoid unnecessary popping up edges at the time of working with Push/Pull tool on traced geometry. In fact, much long arrays require additional usage of the extension and weld is best fit for this.
4. Eneroth Camera Memory: This extension can acquire camera views from one model to another that facilitate recalling the users without difficulty. It will be perfect for working among versions of models and copying scenes. When the both models are open, it acquires the view from the first model and select “Put to Memory” option and in the working model, the users will be able to choose “Retrieve from memory” point out the view.
5. Fredo Scale: Orientate the selection box around a series of objects and interactively employ several geometric transformations, like Scaling, Tapering, Stretching, Plane Shear, Twisting, Bending and Rotation.
6. Architect Tools: It belongs to a series of tools which can easily deal with large models containing buildings and terrain whereas the “flatten selection” tool allows to track the edges easily. There are two other tools like the “Contour Tool” and the “Project Down Tool”.
7. DROPGC: It is a shortcut for dropping objects to a contoured surface and DropGC develops the PathCopy extension and fall cleanly onto a piece of terrain.
8. ZORRO: This extension can be utilized to cut the fat and simplify the process to chop off geometry around the edges of the model that don’t require entering into components.
9. Wire Tool: This tool facilitates the users to draw physically perfect wires and ropes (catenary curves) among two points with only two clicks.
10. Instant Terrain: It is used to produce simplified terrains over complex terrains, drape terrain meshes over objects. Any objects will work: Faces, Groups, Components, Terrain Meshes; devoid of exploding them.
11. Loose to Groups: This allows the users to obtain the geometry by ungrouping it and organizing it in something useful.

Apparently Star Wars is a Sitcom as hollow as Care Bears and Barney
http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2010/09/bygone-golden-age-of-kids.html
John Kricfalusi posts about old-school realistic toy guns (no G1 Megatron in there?) and that when they vanished, there was MORE violence. He was complaining that the generations who had Barney and Care Bears are more violent than those who had Zorro and Dick Tracy and whatnot. This doesn’t quite stand:
* He puts Star Wars in the same category as Barney, by showing a lightsaber as a dim featureless weapon.
* Didn’t those kids also have Shadow the Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat, Doom, Power Rangers, Dragon Ball Z, Digimon, Beast Wars, plenty of fresh and classic zany cartoons, Killer Instinct, Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer 40,000, pro wrestling, Evangelion, Gargoyles, etc? There was plenty of violent entertainment during that era, but they don’t count because they were both after he was born and don’t meet his tastes. (Seriously, Roger Ramjet was around the time in his opinion cartoons started to fall apart, but it fits his tastes, so he likes it even though it DOESN’T fit his standards, yet he disses films that do fit his standards and sometimes even tastes for being too recent!)
* And in the comments I had a bit of a laugh, but not before I ran into someone rational: “ So for once, screw you John. And yes, Star Wars was awesome and you’re just nostalgia raging because you never got to experience it as a kid. “
* And now for the laugh: “ I never thought that Barney, My Little Pony, nor the Care Bears were hip toys in the first place anyway, even as a kid. “ And a few MONTHS after that, MLP became hip.
* “ I was 20 when I saw Star Wars and thought I was watching Happy Days in space. Everything was brown, soft and without any design. Like someone’s home movie. So it’s not old-man grumpiness. I didn’t like the 70s because it was so bland compared to what came just a few years before. I watched it change overnight and was dumbfounded - when I was a wee lad. I wasn’t grumpy until 1969. “
Star Wars is a hybrid between Happy Days and Barney? WTF? Planets blowing up, skimpy outfits, death by childbirth, gruesome executions, and a side movie where EVERYONE DIED.
* And a second rational person: “When I was a kid, I wanted and received an actual air rifle that shot actual pellets into actual soda cans and targets. Luke Skywalker, his lightsaber and his adventures were what we watched at night, and then we woke up and watched Ren and Stimpy in the morning, and they were both all we talked about (my brother and I). Sometimes there’s just too much Old-man Kricfalusi grumpiness. Now Star Wars is ANOTHER reason why Bob Clampett is forgotten and the Director-based system is gone? Why everything is colored purple and pink? Why you can’t show a Hotdog man and a Bun woman meld together on TV? It’s another thorn in your side that the Star Wars toys didn’t look like Dream Pets? Who’s next on the John K. chopping block of “Things That Are Not Officially Fun”? Ray Harryhausen? The Matrix? Wheel Of Fortune? This place needs to lighten up. “
* Funny that after he stopped actively posting about his gripes, he started to become even more bitter. It seems he likes NOTHING after 2010. Literally nothing! At least decades prior had stuff for him like Madame Medusa, Beavis and Butt-Head, and his own work… And he’s also even harsher on things he already pointed out. Like in 2012, he replied “Is that a Filmation cartoon?” concerning HELLFIRE! HELLFIRE! He literally confused it for a Filmation cartoon and didn’t bring up any good points or reasonings.
* And then an argument about Power Rangers starts…

SketchUp Warehouse is full of different useful extensions that are used in modeling in SketchUp by users but there are 11 extensions which are used frequently.
About Extension Warehouse: It is an online resource with various plug-ins developed made especially for SketchUp and these extensions help to add some special tools and features to SketchUp. These extensions can be found for any particular application like drawing or 3D printing and some industry specified tools for architecture, interior design, construction and many more. So basically in this Extension Warehouse people can do the following things:
Users can search extensions by name or as per the functionality.
They can also install various extensions with a single click of a button.
Or users can also control all the extensions from easy-to-use location in the My Extension page.
The organization named Fat Pencil Studio uses SketchUp for their all works and among all the other benefits of SketchUp, the plugins which are generally known as SketchUp extensions make the work so great to do. There are lots of extensions or plugins in SketchUp which are used for different reasons and works but the team has chosen 11 great plugins which are best to use for their vast FPS toolbox.
This article will cover the plugins and their functions; the plugins or extensions are: Selection Toys, Selection Memory, Weld, Eneroth Camera Memory, Fredo Scale, Architect Tools, Dropgc, Zorro, Wire Tool, Instant Terrain and Loose to Groups.
Selection toys: Selection toys is a vital extension for all modelers and for any kind of modeling that allows the users to filter objects in and out of a previous selection. Users can both select and deselect only edges, groups, components or entities that have particular properties such as hidden, soft or smooth etc. the people of Fat pencil Studio, use this extension very much in a variety of ways like for hiding bounding edges, optionally applying materials and more.
Selection Memory: This extension helps users in remembering the selections made in SketchUp so people will not miss any selection for any model or size.
Weld: This extension adds the loose edges into a soft curve that can be selected in one click; Fat Pencil Studio uses this tool to prevent extra popping up edges while working with Push/Pull tool on traced geometry. Actually much long arrays will need an extra application of the extension and Weld is expert on this.
Eneroth Camera Memory: This is a wonderful extension that captures camera views from one model to another allowing remembering the users easily; basically it is a great idea while working between versions of models and wants to copy scenes. When the both models remain opened, it captures the view from the first model and choose “Put to Memory” option and in the working model, users can select “Retrieve from memory” to bring up the view.
Fredo Scale: It helps to sale normally with the help of native tools in SketchUp.
Architect Tools: This is a set of tools that comes in easy working on large models with buildings and terrain while the “flatten selection” tool helps to tracing the edges easily. There are two more tools like the “Contour Tool” and the “Project Down Tool”.
DROPGC: It is a shortcut for dropping objects to a contoured surface and DropGC will create the PathCopy extension and fall cleanly onto a piece of terrain.
ZORRO: It is a wonderful tool to cut the fat and makes it easy to chop off geometry around the edges of the model which don’t need to enter into components.
Wire Tool: It works greatly on drawing catenary curves.
Instant Terrain: It hangs a continuous, triangulated surface over everything; selecting into surface and using Selection Toys will garb the lines only.
Loose to Groups: This helps to gain the geometry by ungrouping it and organizing it in something useful.
