Thoughts/headcanons about Best Pup Zorox:

Personally I think he'd probably be adopted from the street. He was probably a tiny tiny puppy and Beta found him and started BAWLING when Delta tried being 'responsible' and telling him they couldn't bring a whole ass dog home. So what'd Delta do next? Accepted the new family member and brought that dog home, of course! (Color was surprised, to say the least lmao.)

Personally I think that Zorox would either be a Great Pyrenees or a Kuvasz, which would both be difficult to train into therapy dogs, and Delta and Beta would absolutely need to put in the work (and money) to get them trained properly. (And let's be real, it was probably Color and Epic's idea to have this dog become a therapy dog.) But Zorox is 100% worth it because now they get a very sassy therapy dog.

(Now, about the breeds. (This info is taken from both Google and the American Kennels Club.)

Great Pyrenees dogs are usually calm, well-mannered, devoted, good with kids and other dogs, trustworthy, affectionate, gentle, serious, protective, stubborn, fearless, intelligent, playful, mostly friendly, adaptable, and energetic. They shed and bark lots, though, and can be a bit aloof if not trained properly. They can also be quite destructive if left unattended to or bored for long periods of time.

Kuvasz dogs are intelligent, loyal, devoted, calm, attentive, protective, gentle, polite, wary of strangers, independent, sensitive, friendly to other people and dogs but might not make friends, funny/goofy, serious, playful, affectionate, adaptable, easy to train, energetic, and dominant. They don't shed or bark a whole lot.)

They all love playing with Zorox, but Beta definetly plays with him the most since he actually has time to. If he ever got a sugar rush and Zorox was around, those two would be going around playing for HOURS while the Epic Sanses took a much needed break from Beta's hyperness lol.

The image of Beta bawling over some dog on the street is very amusing to think about and I love that a lot..

I was thinking that Zorox was just the Toby Fox of some other, probably destroyed or abandoned AU, and he was just placed in the Omega Timeline. I think Delta and Beta finding him on the streets makes a lot of sense for that story.

anyway I don’t know a lot about dogs but the breeds you’re talking about are so silly oh my gosh 😭😭 I searched them up and I can see the vision, a Great Pyrenees definitely fits Zorox’s personality :3

Speaking of personality, I don’t think I’ve talked about that much so!! Zorox is a usually calm and well mannered dog, he just has separation anxiety and can get bad when people are away for too long (I’m basing this off of my rlly old dog I have)!!

I like to think he gets sassy and irritable when Delta doesn’t pay enough attention to him, so he just knocks stuff over or barks at him to let him know 😭

Usually they wouldn’t have that problem because Beta’s around, but yeah he can get a little silly.. :P

Who is zorox, is that name based on delta creator

Yes! AnimatedZorox is Delta’s creator.

However, Zorox as I and others having been using it, is to refer to the name given to Delta’s service dog.

Which was a HC created by @ozziethegreat, that Delta/Beta would eventually get a service dog with some convincing from Color to help with their PTSD, stress/anxiety/survivor’s guilt, and sometimes dissociation and ADHD depending on the HC.

It might’ve also been inspired by how Annoying Dog is supposedly Toby Fox’s self insert in the Undertale game.

Oh he absolutely would. That guy sees a very specific colored pebble out on his hikes, thinks “that reminds me of Epic,” and he’ll pick it up and put it in Epic’s hands like, “for you.”

He’ll see something like a cat video or something about weaponry and knives, think “killer would like this,” and immediately send it to him or tag him in it.

He sees a lion toy or anything Lion King related and picks it up for Beta, he sees like a tool kit or a particular type of tool that Delta offhandedly mentioned needing to buy weeks ago and immediately buy it for him. He sees a little toy or a particular brand of dog treat and he’s getting it for Zorox, he spots one of Killer’s cats favorite treats and he’s buying it.

He scrolls on TikTok or Youtube or any other internet site and comes across a meme or a quote or a video or a particular fanart that makes him think of his loved ones or thinks he knows they like and he’s sending it to them like, “it made me think of you.”

They’re just always in the corner of his mind.

(I know he spots various forms of puzzles in stores and his thoughts immediately jump to “Papyrus would like this,” only for him to remember that his Papyrus isn’t really around anymore.)

so I am usually terrified of these questions because of my crippling social anxiety, but I love Delta too much to NOT yap about him..

Alright so I’ve seen some other people (howls and sandee) talk about how he would have toxic masculinity and have difficulty dealing with emotions. I COMPLETELY agree with this, he absolutely would.

He would most definitely overwork himself in an attempt to prove his bravery and whatnot. He gets himself badly hurt in fights and proceeds to brush it off because he doesn’t want to look weak. (Loser)

So I like to headcannon that he eventually gets a service dog to help him with this issue, since the injuries were very inconvenient, and Epic and Color were worried for his physical and mental health.

If he ever overwhelms himself by running around and constantly helping people, the dog would do its job and force him to take a break :3

Anyway obviously he would be opposed to the idea of a service animal because “that’s stupid, service animals are for disabled people, I’m perfectly fine” but Color and Epic forced him to for his own good.

He grew fond of the dog after a while, and accepted the idea since it was actually helping him.

Anyway enough of the dog, I wanna talk about him and Color.. 😣

So basically I’ve drawn ship art of them and I’d like to say I headcannon them as exes. Howls at some point said they could have been roommates in the Omega Timeline and I’ve just stuck with that because I’m not original.

I think the isolation Color went through made him very touch starved, and he attached to Delta because he was one of the first people he saw after a long time.

Delta, on the other hand, in general is a very social and friendly person (in his own ways), so he was just nice talkative to Color as he is to most people.

Anyway I think they dated because roommates lore /j

It ended up not working because Delta wasn’t very good with relationships, and his personality and morals clashed with Color’s. They broke up and stayed on good terms as friends 😋😋

As for Delta and Bravery, the two are literally just besties.

I think Delta initially had a father/kid relationship with Frisk, and he was extremely crushed when he failed to save them. It was like losing a kid basically, and he probably forced himself to help people all over to make up for his mistakes.

He ended up exhausting himself, and Core found him when he was having a mental crisis due to all of the guilt and stress he was put through, and he was later relocated at the OT.

As for Bravery, as Delta was recovering from his little guilt trip, he got to know the kid better and learned about who they were, their backstory, how they died.

He felt bad at first, convincing himself that he was just trying to replace Frisk to get over their death, but Bravery urged him not to have those thoughts because he wasn’t being “brave.”

Whining about the past wasn’t something a brave person would do. He should move on because dwelling on it wasn’t going to help him get better, or stronger.

Poor Bravery accidentally convinced him to push down his feelings 😭😭

But other than that, they just act like father and kid all the time, like best friends. Bravery offers him battle advice, keeps him from falling apart when things go wrong, and they work as a team.

In return, Delta takes the kids places they always wanted to see, lets them try new things, basically just letting them experience being a curious kid again, as they died WAY too early.

Firstaval I rlly like the headcanon that Color goes on walks and hikes all the time, and I think Killer could tag along and they’d just be out for hours, doing whatever :3

I also think color would run around and pick up trash and he’d force killer to come with him to do something good for once (guys idk if picking up trash will make up for the many people he tortured and murdered but yeah)

They should also go on road trips by themselves or with their kitties. Maybe bring the rest of the epic trio or cross along as well.

one of my personal favorites is the idea of Killer fostering kittens (and also other animals perhaps).. it’d be good for him to take care of something that’s alive and not like torturing it to death /j he should babysit Zorox as well and do stupid stuff like putting makeup on him to make Delta angry . He’d probably pamper the hell out of that dog

Since Killer was rlly into collecting souls when he was with Nightmare, I think he could practice collecting other things as an alternative because obviously he can’t just run around and take people’s souls without permission. Either Color would help him find a way to do it safely or he’d just get him into collecting other things. Maybe he’d just get him a bunch of books to read on the subject of souls instead. Anything to stop him from being a little menace 😭

Besides that, I think Color would like arts and crafts, crocheting and knitting specifically, and I believe I’ve said before that he would make a lot of his own clothing. Maybe he and killer could go out scavenging every once in a while and he’d find fun stuff to use in his crafts.

Hmm..let’s see.

Once Color leaves their shared apartment, Delta often finds himself just..sitting alone in a messy apartment.

Color always had a tendency to clean up after Delta, because Delta frequently forgets to clean up and can tolerate most mess—Delta often lives in organized chaos. Everything has its place.

But sometimes Delta forgets to put things in their place, says he will but forgets, so Color just often did it for him.

I think Delta will eventually struggle to adjust to the changes in his life, with Color away with Killer and Epic away with Cross. He’d worry if this means he’s being left behind, or if their trio is starting to grow distant.

He’d often wonder the place, finding pieces left behind that point to a once lived in place, wandering around as if he know longer recognizes his home. Or as if the home doesn’t welcome him anymore.

Color’s old photos and journals left in boxes, his books and cameras. A reassuring sight, because it means that maybe Color will be back eventually. One of his jackets, a pair of Epic’s gloves, and maybe Delta will decide to wear them; to feel like they’re still here.

Beta’s drawings are still pinned to their tiny, busted up fridge; a drawing of them holding hands with Color and Epic, a tiny little drawing of Delta himself off to the side with an arrow pointed at him that reads “poopy head :(“. It gains a little chuckle from Delta.

I can Beta’s sadness that they don’t get see Color or Epic as much anymore blending into Sans, the two of them having to struggle to separate their blurry identities into distinct halves.

They start frequently losing time, forgetting to eat or shower, and are often plagued by nightmares (memories) of being trapped in a glass jar, frantically screaming and banging on the glass to try and gain dream Color & Epic’s attention. But they never hear the screams, and never think to look.

Sometimes they picture Color and Epic dying instead, either at the hands of a human or at their own hands; because Color and Epic were trying to capture them, and they had no choice but to fight back.

Beta and Sans’ memories mixing up in their nightmares, Color and Epic now taking the place of the actual people that were in these memories.

They often walk around in a daze most days, avoiding mirrors more than ever and struggling to tell what is and isn’t real.

Maybe this is even around the time and the main reason why Color recommends they get therapy, and perhaps Epic is the one who suggests a service dog.

Maybe the two planned a little surprise to come visit Sans and Beta one day, because they realized its been too long and they did miss their friends, but they weren’t expecting to come back to a trashed house and a dirty, starving, dissociated Delta.

And so while Epic goes to make them something to eat and drink, Color sets about cleaning up the house. It takes a bit of encouragement and help from Epic and Color to ground them back to the present and feed themselves, because they keep getting confused and forgetting what they were doing.

Once they eat all they can manage, Epic and Color then go about setting up a bath for them; maybe they even help them bathe themselves and get dressed into something cleaner and more comfortable.

After that it’s time for a cuddle session and a nap, all four them. Sans and Beta are beyond confused when they wake up in the middle of the night to Color and Epic cuddling them on both sides and squeezing them tightly.

They’re warm, clean, comfortable and safe; but confused, because they assumed yesterday was a dream. They’re relieved to find it’s not, however, lying back down to bask in the warmth of their friends.

The four of them have a lot to discuss in the morning, Zorox will be coming into their lives soon as well, but that’s for in the morning.

I also like to headcanon that Delta is the one who makes all of Color’s cameras and also the laptop he’d need to edit all his photos. Anyone else have any headcanons?

Hellooo I am in desperate need of Delta angst and I remember you saying that we could ramble about hc's we had so here I go :D

He has severe PTSD/survivor's guilt, and due to this he has intense nightmares, resulting in him never wanting to sleep. Obviously this isn't healthy for them, but they can't help it entirely.

And due to not sleeping very much out of fear, after 3 days he begins to hallucinate (the human body can go 3 full days without any kind of sleep before it begins to have a psychological and mental/emotional impact on them).

Their hallucinations probably revolve around their PTSD/survivor's guilt, but also the fear of not being able to protect his friends currently, which can lead to strong delusions and maybe even panic/anxiety attacks, overthinking, and body dysmorphia.

(I also hc that because Sans and Beta are sharing a combined body, sometimes they forget what they look like now, which can very easily cause imposter syndrome/another identity crisis, dissociation, and intense anxiety, though they will never admit it.)

It will also make him much more mentally and emotionally unstable, which might lead to him snapping at people over small things.

(I also hc that he has ADHD, and usually with ADHD comes sensory issues - from my own experience, at least - so he would be having much more sensory issues than normal, which might make him more irritable and aggressive depending on what the sensory issue revolves around)

As you have said, he's not the type to ask for help when in pain, but I feel like this would very quickly grab Color and Epic's attention and they'd help whether he likes it or not. Which I think would eventually end in fluff bc they'd be able to finally comfort and calm Delta down (and he might finally feel safe enough to sleep).

(And if we're rolling with the hc that he has a therapy dog, Zorox would probably alert Delta multiple times that he needs sleep. If Delta is having a panic/anxiety attack or flashbacks, Zorox would work on grounding them to bring them back to reality, and try to make them take a break. But when Delta refuses, Zorox immediately snitches to Color and Epic and have them help Delta.)

Thoughts?

My thoughts are that these are all completely real and canon because I say so.

I honestly love the idea of Delta having ADHD, I feel it’s fitting in the way ADHD Killer calls to me and Autistic Color does. They should all be neurodivergent buddies, it’s pretty common for neurodivergent divergent folks to flock together, even before they know that they or eachother are. I feel like Cross is Autistic too and Epic is maybe AuDHD (same as Killer maybe??)

And I can imagine that both Delta and Beta have severe body issues, same as Killer does, and probably avoids looking in mirrors on particularly bad days because it just severely confuses and distresses them. Especially on days when they’re particularly blurry or “co con,” having doing a double take when catching sight of what they assume is their reflection in the mirror. Like, is that supposed to be me—us? It’s so strange seeing parts of yourself looking back from another’s face, even weirder when a hand moves without your permission to touch at the face in equal bewilderment.

I also like to think that Delta’s the type to enjoy deep pressure, so Epic and Color often cuddle and squeeze him tightly, or Zorox will lay on his lap/chest to apply pressure. And it’s pretty easy for Delta to fall asleep like that, similar to way Color gets drowsy when he’s warm and Killer when feeling soft and fuzzy sensations like his fluffy hood or a fluffy blanket.

Epic and Color definitely look into buying him the best deep pressure blanket as soon as possible.

Going back to your post about Beta and X!Chara committing crimes together bc they were left without supervision, what crimes do you think they'd commit and how would Delta and Cross react to them (and finding out they committed the crimes)?

Petty crimes probably. Maybe like a chain of minor accidents leading up to crimes in increasingly ridiculous and hilarious ways on what was supposed to be a regular day.

Maybe they robbed a candy store. Maybe Zorox, who functions as Delta/Beta’s service dog (helps them both with stress and PTSD, but also Beta is still adjusting to having a physical body and being around so many people so Zorox helps with overstimulation), is with them today and the owner of the store won’t allow Beta in with their dog. And it’s far too hot to leave Zorox outside.

So Chara gets pissed and wants to do something about it, remembers the spray can that Killer gave them to encourage their vandalism last week that they hadn’t yet been caught for, and then the two get to vandalizing the back of the store.

Owner tries to chase them off, maybe the two of them + Zorox somehow run into the store through the back door and Beta nabs up some candy on the way out.

And then like 30 minutes later, they’re spotted by police cuz the owner called 911 obviously, and then a ridiculous Scooby Doo chase begins. It ends with the kiddos punching some cops but ultimately ending up in the station.

Zorox the bestest boy gets snacks and also gets to play with the police dogs. Chara and Beta refuse to let the cops talk to Cross or Delta, so the cops attempt to bribe the kids with more candy.

As you can guess, neither Cross or Delta are happy with the kids. At least at the police station. But Delta ultimately gives Chara a high-five and pays for his chocolate for an entire month.

Cross attempts to be the mature responsible one, but neither Chara nor Beta really care for his discipline.

So he attempts to get through to them that there were better less illegal ways to handle it, and stresses that they aren’t the only ones who’ll have to deal with the consequences of their actions.

Chara and Beta resolve not to go to that specific candy store for their sweet treats, but they do take every chance they can to be a nuisance for the shop owner. (Aka it becomes Zorox newest shit spot. Avoid the cameras and there’s no prove it’s them lmao.)

Maybe Candy Store Owner becomes their ultimate opp and lifelong nemesis.

No one has figured out where the spray paint came from.

Alright so the post about the idea of Delta being severely depressed and attempting su*cide by sneaking into a battle between the Stars and Nightmare, and tries to kill Nightmare by giving it his Whole Ass Everything has been living in my head rent free and makes me ask two questions.

1. If the "good ending" happened and everyone lived, how would Color and Epic react to Delta's attempt? (Especially knowing that Beta would have had to allow the body to die as well, meaning that the poor kid was ok with death?) How could they (Color and Epic) possibly attempt to cope with the fact that their best friend(s) was going to commit suicide and didn't want to tell anyone because they didn't want to be any more of a burden than they had to be, in their (Delta/Beta's) view?

2. If the "bad ending" happened, how would they react to his death?

(I was also thinking about how Zorox would be affected but then I decided it was too sad to put a dog through that lmao, so we're gonna leave him out of this one)

Zorox paws at delta’s bedroom door. sleeps in front of the door. will sleep on the bed if anyone opens the door, drags delta and beta’s old clothes out of the drawers and closet and whimpers when anyone tries to take them back (likely to clean them.) he whines all night at the closed door of delta’s workshop/garage.

whenever taken to their gravesites he just slumps down on the ground nearby and whines like hes been stabbed. He barks and panics whenever epic and color are gone too long and probably develops separation anxiety. he probably keeps trying to constantly linger around color and do specific things he only did for delta and beta (like lying on their lap or chest for deep pressure) and color suspects its because of the bravery soul he absorbed.

dogs cats and animals in general are said to be sensitive to the supernatural and the like. perhaps he sense the bits of colors bravery soul and its familiar.

can see a scene where zorox can sense epics pain and grief despite how epics constantly doing everything to pretend that hes not in as much pain as he is. hes constantly making his jokes and memes and trying to focus on avoiding the topic and changing the subject and avoiding sleep more often than not and forgetting to eat.

and zorox keeps doing his old alerts that he used to do for beta and delta for epic and color now and he keeps pushing and pushing epic to eat or sit or drink and color may be too simply because he shifted gears into full caretaker mode and is trying to avoid feeling the anguish—both his and epics—that he can feel building in his chest.

and I don’t maybe there’s a scene like from mockingjay, the one with Katniss and buttercup. This scene. with zorox and either color or epic.

as for if delta and beta survived (especially if they’re injured) I feel like colors gonna immediately turn on that therapist/mother henning instinct. i feel like hed be treating their injuries and hed have tears in his eye because the thought of how much pain they must’ve been in to make that decision, how he “didn’t notice,” is fucking painful.

and i feel like beta and delta are going to feel so guilty and ashamed and constantly avoiding looking color in the eye. (honestly i like to think that colors just the type of person no one really likes making or watching or listening to him cry (except for nightmare) especially delta and epic and beta.

especially not in this situation, where he could’ve lost two more friends to the likes of nightmare. fighting and struggling to save and protect killer from him was traumatic and stressful on its own. the thought of losing anyone else to nightmare is terrifying and makes him so angry.)

i feel like delta and beta might have an easier time meeting epics eye, if only because he has that ability to make people laugh. and because they dont have the added feeling of guilt of having made him cry (they did epic just knows how to hide it).

epic would probably try to hide any pain from this under a joke and a meme, expressing his worry and concern and care of course.

but i feel like he wouldn’t allow the two to see how deeply it effected him and colors probably the one who’s aware of it and holds him whenever he allows himself a cry or wants to have a serious talk about it. (please feel free to chime in and add more onto this i feel like my brain stuttered to a stop near the end 🙏)

(side note but do yall think killer would call color pretty and beautiful whenever he cries. and like when hes wiping away colors tears and probably nuzzles or kisses his cheeks. like hes a sadistic little freak would he find colors crying pretty in certain situations.)

You mentioned that Delta would have nightmares about having to fight his friends because in his nightmares, they were attacking him. When he wakes up to find them with him, would he freak out because he thinks that he might have killed them or have a panic attack or something? How would they react?

If Delta and Beta are still blurry upon waking up, I can see them panicking yeah. I doubt either of them are going to wake up from that weeks long dissociative/ptsd spiral doing completely okay, even if their body is feeling a little better and their friends feel solid.

Whenever one or both of them starts doubting themselves, worried they’re still dreaming and the calm will shatter again, I can see them doing some type of grounding technique that color taught them before—because they flinch away whenever Epic or Color attempts to touch them. Whenever it’s time for sleep, I can see the two of them needing time to readjust to the actual cuddling parts again, despite how comforting it is.

I’m sure it’s gonna take a few days to make things feel real and make sense in their head, and epic & color will likely try to stay and help take care of them. I doubt they’d be seriously considering options for service pets or therapists at this moment, mostly because thats a choice delta & beta have to make together. And they definitely aren’t in the right mind to make a choice on things like that right now.

I think Beta, similar to the way a kid mimics an adult, would eventually notice that Epic hardly sleeps. And they’ll try to force themselves to stay up with him all night, keeping an eye on both him and Color. Delta does it out of concern for his friends—even in the midst of his own episodes right now—and Beta is just scared that the other shoe is going to drop if they look away for even a second.

Sometimes this tactic works, sometimes it doesn’t. But staying up all night isn’t doing either of the three of them any good, so I can see Color trying to gently coax the three of them to get some rest, too. Promising that he’ll stay up this time, watch over them, wake Epic up if his nightmares appear to be getting really bad.

All three of them are reluctantly, but eventually convinced for a bit. I can see Beta and Delta crashing out for hours at a time, their body trying to catch up on lost sleep, whereas Epic is often in too much pain and vigilant to get more than an hour if he’s lucky.

Thankfully, Color never judges anyone’s lack of sleep or oversleeping. Instead he just focuses on quietly talking to them, perhaps some late night reading, maybe muttering some reassurances to the three of them. Maybe he pulls a page out of Killer’s book and takes to gently petting their heads (or, for awhile, just Epic’s head, to avoid disturbing or scaring the other two who don’t want to be touched.)

And then once Epic wakes back up, he and Color switch roles; one sleeps, the other keeps an eye on their friends and does whatever else they want to do.

Once Delta and Beta are feeling better, is when they start seriously talking about therapy and a service pet; because Epic and Color cannot unfortunately spend their every hour besides Delta and Beta.

I wonder how exactly they’d get Zorox though, and what kind of breed he is. Was he a recommended dog, a gift? Was he found on the streets or seemingly appeared out of nowhere as if by magic? Shelter dog that Delta and Beta adopt?
