aaaah. man. anyone remember that discussion a while back abt how ingo and h.zor have a lot in common actually.
like, i think it'd make total sense actually for him to become a zorua were he to die on mount coronet rather than being found by the pearl clan. but at the same time, i also think it might make sense for him to not become a hostile one. because h.zorua/zoroark are broadly said to be unilaterally malicious towards humans, but they're also the product of a terminal abandonment by the world, and their malice comes from resentment over that fate. and ingo... was abandoned on mount coronet, in a sense. lost and alone completely removed from anything he could call a home or that held any safety or comfort.
but unlike the zorua in canon, it wasn't an abandonment with a face to it? there was no direct hatred or fear, nothing said begone, monster, etc. he might not even remember why it happened. all he knows is he's suddenly alone.
so like. malice. possibly? but it can't really be a resentment specifically towards humans, can it, so much as it would be just a general grudge against the universe. and that's if it exists at all and he isn't just sort of... constantly mourning himself, which is the other option.
alternately: he retains knowledge of how it happened somehow, and reincarnates as a zorua who doesn't hate people but really really specifically wants to fucking kill god. that would be fun.

Just out of plain curiosity, how many different aus do you have with the silly train boys? I know about the possession au, apocalypse au, dragons au, vampire Ingo au, therapy au, elderwritch Ingo au. Are there any more or is that all of them?
That’s most of them I think! The comprehensive list would be this:

- apocalypse au
- twin dragons au
- ingo and the zoroark au
- freight train au (which I really need to expand one day sksks)
- vampire au
- cowboy au
- therapy emmet au
- eldritch abomination au
- soul eater au
If you press the tags directly on this post, all the posts from each au should come up in chronological order! :D

Ohhhh, Anon's perfect apple ask is now giving me blessed imagery of Dusknoir cutting apple slices into bunny shapes. Maybe for Opal, maybe for him to show off, either way.
The soft, the dexterity, the GENTLENESS after such a prolonged period of violence he had undergone. Opal called him her gramps for a reason, after all.

Hey how does it feel to have given me a prompt that had me tearing up all throughout the process of drawing it because of how unbearably heartfelt and endearing it is?

About two or so months ago, I sent an idea about the Zoroark Possession AU where Emmet was also a Zoroark, but no one (including himself) realized because he had none of the physical tells. I wanted to add to that after I learned a bit of trivia. Namely that it’s possible for oviparous species to have more than one child per egg (but it’s very rare, and usually fatal for one or both of them). Maybe it’s viable for Pokémon or just ghost-types specifically.
So to add to that idea, not only is Emmet still Ingo’s brother as a Zoroark, he’s his twin brother as both a human and Zoroark. Would Ingo think his angst over not telling Emmet about being a Zoroark was for nothing considering Emmet had no idea he himself was also a Zoroark?
Actually, if you wanted to make that scenario more dramatic, then let’s say Ingo gets rifted not long after… along with Emmet’s human body sans Emmet. Something more comedic would be that happening significantly later. Later enough for them to find some privacy and calm down to the point Emmet is comfortable joking that one upside to this is that he’s the big brother now, and Ingo (still not wanting to admit he’s been lying to Emmet their entire life when it became clear his brother had absolutely no idea he was a Zoroark) has to suppress a very slight sibling instinct to exit his human body to see if himself as a Zoroark is bigger or at least as big as Emmet to deny Emmet his small victory.
anon, this is SO funny. Emmet just having a time with Ingo's sudden disappearance and the fact that he's suddenly? A giant Zoroark now? But has apparently also always been a Zoroark and just hasn't known it? Wild times. Absolutely rollercoaster of emotions. But he's definitely rubbing this into Ingo's face when he gets back, for sure. Who's the big brother now, Ingo?
(He is. so very, very disappointed when it turns out to still be Ingo. This is verrry unfair, brother. You must have cheated!!)

Master post
Happy day of hearts and chocolate. I give you chapter 22. this one was kind of fun to write, gotta admit.
Chapter 22
A sigh escaped his lips as the commander slowly stood up from his desk, and made his way to the stairs. Grabbing one of his swords and an oil lamp as he walked past.
Today had been a grim day, indeed. And with what he was about to do, it would only get worse.
They were sorely mistaken if anyone believed he had taken any pleasure in banishing Akari. She had been one of the best they had, and if things had gone differently he would have taken her under his wing and truly brought her into their ranks. But sadly things did not pan out that way.
There had been too many Strange occurrences since she fell from the sky, and Kamado wasn't a firm believer in coincidence. Things were not adding up and Akari had to be the cause or at least one of the causes.
Deep down, Kamado hoped that he was wrong. Hoped that Akari would be able to fix the sky just as she had quelled the frenzied nobles of the clans. And feared that he had made a fool of himself, and was still making a fool of himself.
But even if Akari did fix the sky… would that not prove she had the power to do all the things he accused her of?
Slowly he descended the stairs, knowing full well he was merely prolonging the inevitable.
This was another thing he was not happy about.
No one wanted to be known as the man who imprisoned children, let alone a whole family. Yet here he was doing just that.
But the Warden was another anomaly. One who had arrived even before Akari had, around the same time the Space-time distortions were said to have started. His ‘sons’ had also appeared sometime between the frenzy and the quelling of the Noble, Electrode.
Once was strange, twice was suspicious, three times… well, clearly there was more going on than meets the eye.
While Akari had at the very least worked to help Jubilife and gain their trust, Kamado at least allowed himself to give her the chance to clear her name. But he could not in good conscience extend the same courtesy to the Warden and his family, nor could he simply allow them to roam free.
Irida and her clan may have been blind to the dangers, be he was not.
Sure it was risky to imprison not just a member of the Pearl clan without their consent, but one of their Wardens and his family. But he was sure the clan would not dare make a move against the village, not while the Rift was widening and the sky remained red. With any luck by the time, Irida came to question his choices he would have evidence to prove this claim. Besides, he was sure the Pearl Clan did not have the resources or the ability to start a war let alone win a war against the Galaxy team.
Captain Zisu waited at the bottom of the stairs, standing at attention next to the door that led to the prison level.
He sighed, as he was forced to push down another pang of guilt.
Just like the rest of the Galaxy, Zisu had lost much to Pokemon. In fact, she had lost her entire family to rampaging pokemon. Yet, slowly she had been willing to trust pokemon once more.
He was aware of how she felt about those kids as she had not once denied those rumours. She had found a companion in the old Warden and family in the man’s children. Perhaps, seeing this as a second chance.
He held no illusion that she hated him for what he was making her do. A mother Ursaring always fights to protect her young after all. He just hoped that then she finally saw the truth, that it would not completely crush her.
“Commander.” she saluted like a good soldier, the look on her face as hard and old as stone.
“Zisu…” Kamado nodded in acknowledgement before taking a deep breath. “Captain…you have a Zoroark on your team, do you not?” he questioned.
Without a single word, the woman pulled a Pokeball from her belt, her grey eyes glaring at him like daggers.
Yet still, he continued…
He had to be sure.
“Show me.” He hated that he had to do this, to make her prove her loyalty to him, but sadly he had no choice. She was too close to the prisoners after all.
Without even missing a beat, the captain flicked open the clasp and released the pokemon inside. As the flash of light died down, the Commander breathed out a sigh of relief as he saw the baneful fox form in front of him.
He felt both happy that he was wrong, and shame for doubting one of his own captains.
Zisu was a good soldier and loyal to a fault.
“Apologies, Captain Zisu.” he bowed his head slightly toward her. “But given the circumstances, I felt it necessary.”
Necessary to prove that the prisoners below were in fact who they appeared to be.
To Prove that the Captain of the Security Corps had not put her own feelings first and replaced them with shapeshifting Pokemon.
Quickly Zisu recalled the pokemon back into its confines, before stepping up to the door and wordlessly unlocking it for him.
“Thank you, Captain.” he took a step forward, pausing at the door. “I am aware this is hard for you, you were close to them. So you are dismissed. I will not force you to witness any of this.”
“Sir,” she saluted once more, turned her back to him then paused. “May I speak freely, sir?”
“You may.” he expected a biting retort from the caption, maybe an emotion-driven rant. But he was not about to hold it against her once this was all over, she would come to her sense.
“What happens… on the off chance that you are wrong about this?”
That was not something he had expected.
There wasn’t much in the way of doubt in his mind, that he was in fact right. Everything pointed to it. There was no way he could be wrong, and if he was then it was only a tiny chance.
But…
If he was wrong…
Then he had just made a horrible mistake.
“If, by some chance I am wrong…” he told a deep breath as he tried to sort his thoughts.
If by chance he was wrong then he had not only just unlawfully imprisoned three members of the Pearl clan but Warden to boot. Even worse, he had imprisoned children and that alone would be remembered throughout history. He would have disgraced both himself and the Galaxy team.
If he was willing to shoulder that blame himself, was willing to beg forgiveness from both Irida and the family he harmed, and accept whatever punishment they had for him. “Then I, and I alone will bear that burden.”
But he wasn’t wrong.
It simply was not possible.
Zisu sighed, shaking her head as she started to walk away. “Whatever you say, sir.”
He waited silently by the door until he knew she was far enough away before he started to descend into the depths. Closing the door behind him.
It was dark, the only light that could be seen was what little came from under the door, and there was a dampness in the air that made the musty smell all the more noticeable.
Kamado paused at the top of the steps to light the lamp he had brought before continuing lower, Lamp held high in one hand and his other hand resting on his sword.
There was a noticeable chill in the air that sent a shiver down his spine the closer he got to the far cell of the prison. But he merely shrugged it off as merely the dampness that crawled up through the earth with no sun to chase it away. So he continued down the hall, ignoring the groans and cries coming from the other cells.
He stopped in front of the cell, turning to see, two sets of glowing eyes looking up at him only to flinch away when he raised his lantern up.
Kamado took a good look at the prisoners within the cell, as this was the first time he had ever seen the Warden’s children in person, and it was only fair to commit their faces to memory if they were to be imprisoned.
The first thing he noticed about the boys was that they were identical, which was not a surprise as others he’d questioned described them as such. If he had met them before he was not sure if he would be able to tell who was who. a fact that unnerved him greatly, as who knows what kind of mischief that could cause.
It was hard to tell what kind of body shape the two might have had, as they were currently bent low to the ground and most of their propositions were hidden under the layers of the Pearl clan tunics. But the Commander guessed they were built the same as most nine-to-ten-year-olds, if not slightly scrawnier.
The two stared up at him, the exact same fearful expression, their golden eyes squinting hard against the light of the lamp as they crouched down next to their father. Their wispy grayish-white hair fell into their faces as they attempted to shield their eyes.
Then there was their father. The Warden.
The man behind the bars turned his attention towards him, patting the shoulders of his two boys gently before standing up and dusting himself off; as if doing so would make the strange tattered coat any less disrespectful.
“Warden.” Kamado snorted as he look down at the hunched man standing before him. There was no point in pleasantries here best to get his answers now so she could better decide the fates of the three, less the Pearl clan try and make a move. “I assume you have seen the sky and are not blind like you believe the rest of us are. Now, tell me your part in all this, Warden.”
But the Warden just stood there not looking up at him, before sneering. “Hah.”
Behind him, there was the sound of giggling, like two children, laughing over some small joke they had overheard; but it was quickly silenced as the Warden turned his head towards his boys.
“Answer me, Old man!” He barked, leaning in toward the bars, his rage starting to build as he felt the strange old man was not taking this seriously. It was odd, not once had he ever witnessed Ingo act like this, the man was always serious but then again, it just made it all the clearer that the man had been hiding his true intentions. “You will answer me! If you ever want your children to be free, you will give me the answers I seek!”
“Hah, hah”
Kamado watched the man in shock as the warden continued to huff slightly, his shoulders shaking and that horrible mocking smile never once leaving his face.
Was he…
…Was he laughing at him?
The Commander’s rage grew tenfold and without warning he reached through the bars and grabbed a fist full of the man’s tunic and pulled him closer, causing the man’s body to smack harshly into the iron bars. “You think this is Funny Warden! I am not some Pearl clan fool you can trick with your claim of Amnesia! You Will tell me What You Are Planning! Or perhaps you would prefer if I tore the answer from one of your sons!” Kamado roared, holding fast to the man’s tunic and leaning in close to the bars.
Yet the old Warden only seemed to laugh harder.
Had the old man finally lost his mind?
“Do you truly think this is funny? Or maybe you do not believe I will do it.” the larger man hissed towards his prisoner, dragging the fist full of tunic upward, nearly dragging the warden off his feet and forcing the man to meet his eye. “I will do anything to protect this settlement from the likes of you! And that includes Tortu-”
It was then that Kamado noticed that his hand had started to go numb and there was a painful chill that was slowly creeping up his arm.
He tried to release his grip on the old man but his hand felt frozen to the fabric.
The Warden had stopped laughing and was staring right at him with a wide grin on his face…did he always have those red marks by his eyes… Slowly he raised a hand and grasped the commander’s arm tightly with thick bloody red claws.
“What are you…” he could see his breath in front of his face.
It was so cold…
…so very cold.
The feeling started to return to his hand, but it burned like a fiery hot poker was being placed on his fingers.
He could hear sound all around him, like a child’s laughter, but he was unable to look away from the warden to see where it was coming from.
He couldn’t look away from those piercing golden eyes.
His heart raced, as he demanded his body to move, to do something anything, but he couldn’t move.
It felt like his head was underwater.
He had to do something.
He could hear screaming all around him. Panicked and desperate cries for help.
The fire behind him casing everything in an orange glow as the fire burned his skin, the village behind him burned.
Yet he could not, could not look away from those yellow eyes.
He had to do something or the village would be destroyed.
He had to do something or everyone would die.
He had to move!
Finally, he managed to break the spell enough to reach for his sword, forcing his eyes closed as he prepared to strike out blindly…
But his hand never touched the hilt, grabbing nothing but air.
Quickly Kamado opened his eyes, only to see that his sword was not where it should be.
It was gone...
But that wasn’t right…he remembered taking it.
He brought it just in case something like this were to happen.
So why was it not there?
“Hah Hah ha.”
Slowly, the commander turned back to look at the old warden as the man started to laugh once more.
But Ingo was no longer looking at him, but at something just over his shoulder.
There in the corner of the hallway stood the twins. One of them holding the Lamp that Kamado had brought with him and the other was standing just behind the other holding his sword.
The man’s mind raced once more.
When had they escaped? And how?
How did they manage to not only take his Lantren but also his blade without notice?
His eye was slowly drawn to the looming shadow behind the boys, detailing something that had been far from human.
The boy holding the lantern smiled, his eyes squinting in delight as the Light from the flame highlighted the blue along his eyelids.
“Zorua.”
At that moment the boy extinguished the flame and drowned the room in darkness.
Emmet sighed as he sat with his back against the cliff, staring at the empty Pokeball in his hand as his brother and father worked to set up the temporary camp.
It had been earlier this morning, verrrry early in fact, that Ingo had woken them all up with his cries and shouts about the sky being wrong. Upon seeing the problem their father had quickly urged them to pack up their things and help him grab what was necessary to relocate. But when Emmet had gathered up all of his Pokeballs, he had found that one of them was lighter than it should have been.
“I’m sure Zoroark will return to you once more Emmet.” their dad broke through his thoughts as he gently set drown several heavy logs within the temporary firepit they had created within the Fabled Spring. “He was probably just spooked by what is happening and will return to your station in due time.”
“Then how come it was only my pokemon that ran away.” the younger twin pouted, curling in on himself dejectedly. It was hardly fair, Zoroark had finally seemed to be coming around and then when the sky goes all weird the fox just runs off the first chance he got. Maybe Zoroark had just been waiting for a time when Emmet would not be able to go after it to run away?
“I agree with dad, I heard Zoroarks can be kind of funny like that, or at least the ones back home are,” Ingo added, as he continued to clear a space for the tent to be pitched, running back and forth to move sticks and rocks away. “I’m sure Zoroark will come back, if not I’ll help you catch another one…you know… once it feels like the world isn’t going to end. Now hurry up and help us set up camp!”
Emmet wanted to call his brother out for being overly dramatic in his word choice, but as he looked up to the sky he couldn’t help but agree.
The sky was a harsh red colour and there was a crackle in the air that sent shivers down his spine. Worse yet, space-time distortions were popping up everywhere across the highlands, strange bubbles that seemed to bend Space and Time inside of them causing normal pokemon to become completely frenzied while inside.
According to their father, this was far from normal.
So maybe, Zoroark really did get scared and run away.
So far the Fabled Spring had really been the only safe place for the time being.
It really did seem like the world was trying to rip itself apart.
And if he hadn’t been so exhausted it would have been terrifying.
He really wanted to be home right now, with his brother and uncle, drinking a nice cup of hot chocolate rather than deal with this.
With a groan, Emmet slowly pushed himself back up to his feet and went over to join his family in the work. At least it would help distract from the looming threat that was currently the sky.
“Warden Ingo!”
Emmet paused in what he was doing, looking up toward the voice that had called out. He looked up just in time to see Lady Irida stepping into the Fabled Spring, followed closely by Lady Sneasler and a rather fancy-looking man with blue and green hair tied into a ponytail.
“Lady Irida. Lord Adaman.” their dad spoke up, stepping forward to greet the two adults. “What brings the two of you here? I am afraid the highlands are far from safe at this moment.”
“Warden Ingo! thank Almighty Sinnoh you and the boys are alright.” Irida smiled running up to them as quickly as she could and grabbed his father’s arms, pushing up the sleeves of his jacket and checking his arms for something. “I had just gotten a message from Lian saying you and the twins had been arrested, I’m glad to see that he was incorrect,” she explained, satisfied by what she saw of their father, she then bent down and did the same to his brother and then himself.
“While it’s good to see that your alright Warden, I have to know if you have seen Akari around here?” the tall man with the ponytail asked as he stood next to Irida, hands on his hips as he addressed their father.
“A-arrested?” Their dad stuttered as he simply stared at their clan leader in utter shock. “I am unsure as to where Lian has gotten the idea that I, let alone my sons have been detained in such a way.” Emmet could hear the shakiness of his voice growing stronger with every word, and his volume starting to raise. His brother’s voice did the same thing when he was trying to hide the fact he was scared of something, so hearing the same tell in his father’s voice put the youngest twin on edge. “And I have not seen Akari for the past few days. In fact, I and the boys have been put up since before dawn trying to locate a safer station. Why do you ask? Does it have anything to do with the way the sky and the rift have been acting?” he looked from the Pearl clan leader over to Man in Blue with peeling eyes. “Please, tell me what is happening so that I may conduct myself and my family appropriately.”
Irida sighed as she stood back up, looking back at the man with the fancy hair before meeting his dad’s eye. “Earlier today, Adaman and I went to Jubilife Village to speak with the Commander about the current…crisis. It was during this meeting that the Commander-”
“Akari was banished from the village.”
“What?!” their father’s voice echoed off the cliffs, causing everyone to flinch at the volume, and Irida sent a sharp glare over his shoulder at Adaman.
“I’m sorry Irida, but there’s no point in beating around the bush about this.” Adaman sighed, rubbing at his ears.
“But why?” Ingo joined the conversation from where stood next to his brother, his eyes bouncing from one adult to the next in search of answers. “What did she make a bad drawing too?”
Irida could only shake her head as she stared at the ground, not even able to laugh at the slight joke his brother made. “I’m afraid that the Commander is in the belief that Akari is somehow responsible for the current situation.” she sighed, sadly looking up at their father. “We came looking for her with the hope to offer some kind of help.”
“Irida thought that maybe she had come looking for you for help until she got Lian’s message,” Adaman added, filling the shocked silence with an explanation. “Look, we’re gonna keep looking for Akari. But Ingo, you and your kids should probably get out of here. Lian may have gotten mixed up in his report, but that doesn’t mean The Galaxy team isn’t looking for you guys.”
“Yes, if Commander Kamado is willing to blame Akari for all this simply because she came from the rift, I do not doubt he would be willing to do the same to you and the twins, and I do not think he would be so willing as to let you all walk away.” Irida continued. “Maybe head back to the Coastlands, or even the back to the Icelands as I doubt the Commander would be so bold as to march into our settlement to arrest one of my Wardens. But you must stay clear of Jubilife Village and The Galaxy team. Leave Akari to us.”
“Did someone say they were looking for Akari?”
Just before Emmet’s mind even began to process the information they were given, his thoughts were suddenly derailed as a new voice added itself to the mix.
He knew that voice.
Every so often he would hear it in his nightmares.
Slowly the boy turned his head to look passed Lady Irida, and so a tall man with blonde hair walked towards them.
“Are you really trying to hold a candle to the might of Gi***ti*a?!”
“Get rid of these pests! And with any luck, we’ll have fixed our last mistake!”
Emmet didn’t remember when he had stepped in front of his brother, shielding his twin from the man as he approached, but he remembered clearly that thing targeting Ingo directly. He wasn’t about to happen again.
He was trembling, and he wondered if Ingo was too.
The man continued closer, all smiles as he walked up to the clan leaders. His hair was pinned back in a bun, and his bangs covered one eye, dressed like one of Ginko Guild.
He opened his eye and then opened his mouth to say something, only to stop when his single visible eye looked towards Emmet and his brother.
The smile fell away for a split second, and Emmet saw the recognition in his eyes.
His chest felt tight, making it hard to breathe as his heart hammered in his ear… and then…
A wall of black fabric stepped in front of him, cutting off his view of the man. Suddenly Emmet could breathe again as his father stepped in front of them, shielding both he and his brother from the man’s view.
Never was he so happy to see the back of his Dad’s tattered coat before.
“Volo… What brings you to this station?” Emmet couldn’t see his dad’s face as he spoke, but he could hear a slight bit of irritation in his tone as he spoke.
“Apologies, Warden Ingo, Lady Irida, Lord Adaman. I didn’t mean to interrupt. I just happened to overhear you all talking about finding Akari, and thought I could lend a hand.” The man, Volo, replied. sound of his voice causing Emmet to lean heavily into his twin as Ingo wrapped his arms around him in a tight hug. “Akari told you had Kids, Warden, though I have to admit I didn’t expect to be running into them today. They look a lot like you.”
“Indeed…” The Warden hummed, his voice sounding curter than Emmet had ever heard it before. “I am assuming you are aware of Miss Akari’s location then?”
“Oh yeah! I found her earlier and brought her to a secret location.” the man stated proudly. “I can take you all there if you like.”
“Yes! That would be most helpful, Volo, thank you.” Adaman cut in and moved to join the man along with Lady Irida, only to pause a step later.
“Are the Warden and his…um…children joining us, or-?” the man questioned looking back at the three as they had yet to move.
Their father was silent for a moment, looking back a the twins before turning his attention back to Volo.
“Yes!” Lady Irida’s voice cut through the silence, speaking up before their dad could even get a word out. “He and the boys will be coming with us.” she looked back at the three. “The Galaxy Team plan on trying to arrest them for the same thing they banished Akari for. If this place you speaking of is so well hidden then it should be safe for the Warden and his family.”
The Warden sighed, bringing a hand up to touch the brim of his hat before nodding. “I suppose it would be safer to join you along these tracks.” he turned slightly holding his hands out for each of the boys to take. “Come along you too, try not the become uncoupled from me.”
Zisu stood outside Cyllene’s office waiting patiently for a sign. Leaned up against the wall, with her arms crossed over her chest.
It was only when she heard a loud bang and the sound of rattling metal did she pull herself away from the wall and entered the office. The blue hair woman glanced up at her curiously as walked passed and opened one of the windows behind her desk, but ultimately said nothing, not even when Zisu tossed the Pokeball containing her own Zoroark out the window.
Within a few moments, there was a loud bang of a door being thrown off its hinges, followed quickly by heavy footsteps pounding up the steps and a chorus of screams as passersby flung themselves out of the way by whatever was steamrolling its way up the stairs. Within moments ‘Warden Ingo’ came barreling into view as he came flying up the steps with two little ones in tow, stopping for only a second to look for a way out.
Quickly Zisu stepped out of the way, just as the ‘Warden’ flew past her, jumped on Cyllene’s desk and launched himself out the open window, sending paperwork flying everywhere.
Close behind the two ‘children’ ran by, though not as fast as their ‘Father’ could.
the one with a slight blueish tint to his hair clearly sporting a fluffy white tail, while it helped its ‘twin’ get out the window.
“Your tail is showing.” Cyllene muttered as she stood up from the desk and grabbed the ‘boy’ under the arms and helped ‘him’ out the window. The ‘child’ let out a little ‘Zorua’ in thanks, as it and the other followed Zisu’s Zoroark out of the Village.
The captain of the survey corps sighed, as she reached up and shut the window, looking back at Zisu with an annoyed frown, unable to miss the complete mess her office had become in only a few seconds. “Was it really necessary to use my office for this?”
“Sorry Cyllene, but you kind of had the best Window for the job.” the Captain of the security corps laughed, looking around at the mess that had been left in the Pokemon’s wake. Emmet’s Zoroark had really made a mess of things. “Sides didn’t want to risk anyone in the medical bay getting spooked.”
Quickly she turned to one of her men, who was poking his head in through the door, clearly startled by the fuss that had just happened. “You! Head down to the prison and check to see if the Commander is alright, take a few others with you in case he requires help and bring him to the medical bay,” she order and the man snapped to attention before running off.
She really hoped that Zoroark had given him the scare of his life. Sinnoh knows he deserved it after what he did.
Though she was just glad this little scheme worked.
She knew there was no way her men would have been able to so easily arrest the Warden or the twins. Not without a major fight on their hands. Not her boys.
Of course, she had recognized the disguised fox pokemon the moment she laid eyes on it, and she knew just by the way it moved that it was Emmets. That Zoroark was fair to cock to be able to get humble Warden of the highlands just right, at least not to someone she knew so well.
The two Zorua had been a shock but even they weren’t able to fool her, mostly because their illusions made the twins either two identical or not enough.
“By the way, do those two Zorua also belong to the twins? I was unaware that the twins nor their father had any Zorua under their command.” the blue-haired captain questioned as she started to slowly gather up the paper that now covered the floor.
“Don’t know. They might be Akari’s but this is honestly the first time I’ve seen them.” the redhead shrugged.
She had no idea who had planned any of this, but whoever they were were as clever as the foxes they had sent.
She was just glad to have been able to do her part, and hopefully, this would scare the Commander away from pursuing the Warden as his twins any further.

Ooh! An idea with any Poke-Hybrids of your choice, how do you think they'd react if (through whatever shenanigans) S/O was changed into the same hybrid species as them? (Permanent or temporary is up to you)
cw: pokehybrid au, temporary transformation
characters: Ingo, Emmet, Larry, Grimsley
Somehow, you were not sure what had happened, but a very upset Zoroark with oddly coloured fur had done something to you. What had happened was truthfully far beyond you, but something was obviously off with your body. It took a minute until you found a place with a public restroom and mirror. When you had, however, it all quickly became clear. You had to take a step back in panic before reaching for your phone to finally contact your partner.
▲Chandelure Ingo▼
● At first, Ingo had not believed you. It seemed fantastical and not bound by any kind of logic. His main concern was that a Zoroark had used Confuse Ray on you. Yet, when he found you waiting outside, he knew instantly what that eerie purple glow that ruminated from you in the low light of the evening was. Your eyes held a familiar yellow iridescence. Ingo was shocked. Yes, he had met a few other Chandelure hybrids in his time, yet you… Well, you had always been a human. You ran over to him and clung to his body while asking for answers. He only wished that he knew. The older twin rubbed your back as he debated his next moves.
● First, his concern was nutrient changes. Chandelures... They had a very specific dietary need that humans never exactly had to worry about. Teaching you how to responsibly absorb life energy was a must so that you could go without incident while you were stuck as a hybrid. His next concern was behavioural. While he was more than used to suppressing whatever urges entered his mind due to his upbringing, he imagined it would be a bit harder for you. The urge to spin needs to be rejected. He felt odd going through the list of ways he pretended to be human with you. Especially when you gazed at him with a strange look in your eyes. Those feelings were forced down. Your safety was most important.
● Though, he did relax a bit when you two were alone. There was no way to describe the feeling he got as you both spun together to just show your joy or seeing how your flames burned brighter in each other's presence. He hummed for you and felt eager when you joined – an eerie harmony achieved. Part of him felt awful for enjoying these things more than he should. He loved you no matter what, after all. Yet… Indulging these parts of himself without feeling like a bother or strange to you was simply too much. The feeling of having so much deeper understanding of how he was… Ingo cherished those moments entirely.
● Ultimately, however, whatever trick had been done to you wore off, and you were back to yourself within the week. Ingo lamented it for a moment but understood that it was for the best. To have such a sudden, unexpected change brought to you was difficult… He certainly could not have imagined handling it well. The moments of harmonising and dancing with him stayed. The experience had at least given you insight into how to better meet his needs. You did not particularly feel like joining him on “food” runs again, though, alas.
▽Galvantula Emmet△
○ While he did not much like leaving his den (your shared apartment), he felt obligated by how simply distressed you had sounded. It was difficult getting to where you were, but when he found you, he blinked a few times. Then, he screamed and tried to run away. You chased after him, demanding that he help you understand. Needless to say, the instinctual fear of being eaten by a mate was still very much present inside him – Even if he loved and adored you. When you turned to stare at him with six eyes and scuttled around on your legs… His mind just registered panic and fear. You did eventually manage to catch up to him. He calmed down finally. Then, he realised that something serious had happened and called Ingo.
○ He does not know what to do. Emmet is completely and utterly bewildered by your state. You were almost certainly not a Galvantula hybrid when you had departed from the apartment this morning. Now you undeniably were. He then realised something terrible. Your diet! He had already been concerned over human nutrition… He instantly was eager to impress you by hunting more bug types for you to eat. And all to make sure you were well-fed. He verrrrry much did not want to be eaten. Another part that occurred to him was web making… Excitement bubbled up inside him at the thought of teaching you. His fears almost faded instantly at the thought of spending time with you in the ways only Galvantulas could.
○ Building a web with you was definitely a strangely romantic experience. It was mostly learning on your part, but teaching you was something he deeply enjoyed. His gasp when you had made your own hammock made you smile, too. The living may have been filled with many previous attempts, but he felt excited that you finally had done it. There was only more giddiness to follow when you somehow caught a Weedle all on your own in one of your webs. Granted, you still were not a fan of eating bugs, but when told that you might start attacking Emmet, you felt swayed to try. The younger twin felt a sense of contentment with the situation.
○ Yet, it ended. A few days later, you woke up in the web hammock back to normal and able to return to the comfort of human foods. Emmet had been a little sad at first, but the relief that you would no longer be tempted to eat him was something greater. And, well, as much fun as it had been living with another hybrid, he loved his cute human mate way more. You were nicer about his webs, too, having come to understand how complicated they get and their importance to him. The experience was overall a good one, he thinks.
💼Staraptor Larry🏢
🍙 The salaryman nearly hung up. It sounded illogical. The entire story and climbing that you had wings like him. Then, he considered it for a moment. Why would you lie about that? He got up and headed to where you were. His astonishment about your condition was masked by his usual facade. Your panic was clear as day as you rushed towards him, asking him to confirm that you had not been hallucinating. He brought a hand out to your wings, feeling the soft feathers and warmth coming from them. They were real, without a doubt. He felt tired just thinking about how to go about handling this.
🍙 He basically informed you to not really change anything. There was no need to learn to fly, even though he rarely used his wings. There was no need for you to hunt, either. Your diet should fulfil the nutritional standards for a Staraptor. Essentially, he wanted you to remain as you and barely acknowledge the wings and talons. After a bit of pestering, however, he does relent to teaching you how to fly. You kept alluding to it and pushing it – There really was no way to escape how much you wished to learn to fly. He was fine relenting to you.
🍙 Teaching you to fly was a strange experience. You were not a Starly hybrid, after all. Most Staraptors had already long since mastered this skill, yet… You were not really a Staraptor. Your struggles were obvious, certainly looking like hatchling with how you took to the ground, but Larry worked you through everything with detailed instructions, making it clear what you needed to do. Eventually, you both took to the skies together. The experience was odd to Larry yet… It was deeply charming to some instinctual part of him. Flying with a mate was an important part of getting to know each other. You both were long past that stage, though. There was also an unexpected song call between you both. His heart felt oddly light and free from its cynical prison in those moments. Of course… He knew somewhere deep down that they were not meant to last.
🍙 You were back to being your normal self soon enough. Everything was gone. Larry almost felt disappointed, but he had expected it. This was the natural order of things. You seemingly noticed his slightly down turn in mood as you hummed the mating song back at him. He unconsciously returned it. A sigh left him. Well, you really were his mate now as you both had gone through every step on his side of things now. He was grateful the song remained a common thing between you both in the end.
♠️Liepard Grimsley❤️
♤ The gambler actually hung up. Though, when he thought about what you claimed for a moment, he called back and apologised. Well, if you were lying, he supposed he could claim he called your bluff, but… If you were not. He did feel a bit lost on what to do from there. His familiarity with dark types made him wonder if you were under the effect of some Zoroark's illusion and only thought you had those traits. But, well, the illusion of those pokemon are very convincing and almost lifelike. His suspicions remained even when he saw you like a familiar pair of ears and a tail. Though, he let out a chuckle. You looked utterly adorable with Liepard hybrid traits, and he loved how you clung to him and begged for answers. He wished that he knew.
♡ There was little to teach you about being a Liepard. Grimsley supposed if you were not eating meat before, you might have to for now, but he could arrange an appointment with a doctor to figure out what supplements could keep you in good form. He did warn you that your teeth were much sharper now and to be careful if you intended to bite anyone, but there was no reason for you to be biting anyone anyway. Though, you did manage to sneak up on him once or twice and make him hiss at you while puffing up. He then iterates that your steps are unconsciously more controlled.
◇ Part of him quickly grows attached to you being a hybrid like him. Curling up with you while purrs unconsciously erupted from the both of you was simply one of the best things he had in his life. The few times you curled your tail around his waist got a chuckle out of him, too, clearly imitating what he usually did to you. There was also something so enjoyable about being able to scratch at your ears and introduce you to that feeling. Your purrs in response to his touches made him all the more eager. His mind even rushed to more intimate things related to Liepard's biology but…
♧ One morning within that week, you both woke up to your return to normalcy. The ears and tail were gone, alongside any other additions. Grimsley felt mildly annoyed, but he had suspected it was a temporary state from the beginning. Part of him wanted to know about what caused it, yet he was aware that information would simply be too difficult to obtain. He would miss your purrs greatly, and the cute way your tail would betray whatever your emotion your face held. Now, however, you seemed easily to notice when he was creeping behind you. He felt annoyed about that. Fun ruined by that Zoroark. (He enjoys the thrill of it even more, though.)

HELLO HI
God I love the Submas fandom, all of you are so nice <3
In any case, I have a silly Au for y'all to munch on.
Allow me to introduce you all to Covalent Twins :]
Tumblr media
Covalent
Adjective
- Relating to or denoting chemical bonds formed by the sharing of electrons between atoms.
Or in this case, the sharing of Emmet between 2 Ingos from different timelines NSNDNNDDD.
This Au is essentially the answer to the question: "doesn't being sent to the distant past inherently mean you are also now long dead in the future you just left?"
The answer is yes and no btw
The explanation for this involves a lot of time nonsense that I'm very bad at explaining but the Tldr is basically this:
When Ingo gets sent to the past, this creates a connection between the past and the future. This makes time get all fucky and split into two separate timelines (Timeline A and Timeline B)
Timeline A:
Time in this timeline runs parallel to the future as long as Ingo stays within it (essentially, if Ingo stays in the past for 2 years, then 2 years pass in the present).
Due to this connection, Akari (aka Dawn) gets sent to this timeline (But not Timeline B) and the game events of PLA play out (+ a lot more Ingo bonding because uncle Ingo supremacy)
Akari manages to get her and Ingo sent back home with the power of Arceus, causing both timelines to merge back together again into one cohesive line with only the events of Timeline B being remembered by history.
Ingo and Emmet get their happy ending.
This Ingo got sent to Hisui when he was 29, stayed there for 2 years, and went home when he was 31.
And Timeline B:
This timeline was created as a cannon fodder timeline so Akari and Ingo can keep doing time shenanigans in Timeline A without disturbing the space time continuum even more.
This timeline is therefore not connected to the future the same way Timeline A is.
The Ingo of this timeline (Nicknamed "War" or "Warden" for simplicity.) lives through the PLA game events but with Rei taking the place of Akari.
War doesn't bond with him the same way Ingo does with Akari because Rei isn't a faller.
The events of the game are the exact same (minus the Arc phone, Rei taking the place of Akari, and catching Arceus).
Despite Rei calming the nobles and catching Palkia and Dialga, he is still not the chosen hero. Warden is unable to go home or regain his memories.
Warden lives in Hisui and serves as a warden for the Pearl Clan for a total of 7 years before dying alongside his partner pokemon, Gliscor (nicknamed Nimbasa), while protecting Lady Sneasler from a Zoroark attack at the age of 36.
Warden drifts as a ghost for many years, with only Nimbasa the Gliscor as company. He watches his friends grow old, and eventually die. They pass on to the afterlife, but Warden stays on earth, wandering the Alabaster Icelands and Mount Coronet, searching for people from a life he can't remember even in death.
Warden watches as Hisui changes into Sinnoh. Jubilife Village becomes Jubilife City. Pokemon species die out and new ones are born.
As the world slowly becomes more and more familiar, the great Sinnohs, Palkia and Dialga, take pity on the lost warden, and decide together to lead him home.
It may take 150 years, and many miles of travel, but Warden is pulled by an unknown force towards the Unova region. Though he is unable to touch anything or speak to anyone, it's all so painfully familiar.
He is pulled towards Nimbasa city, (ah! That's where he got the name from!) and eventually to an apartment.
There, he is greeted by a young girl, barely 17. A man in black, who looks exactly like him, give or take a few years and a few scars.
And a smiling man in white. The man he has been searching for for over 150 years...
And they're staring at him, truly staring at him, not through him.
Why is the man in white crying?
*evil laughter.mp3*
So yeah! The twins have an older brother now :D
I mean he's dead and also Ingo just 5 years older and from a different timeline but still!!!
If you've made it this far I believe you deserve a gold star ⭐ and also some art for your troubles.
So here's War and Nimbasa ↓
Tumblr media
And some fluffy interaction between War and Emmet as a bandaid.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you guys have any questions regarding how this Au works, or are interested in seeing more of it, don't hesitate to shoot me an ask :D
I hope I enjoyed reading about my silly Au, even if it was a bit long lol.
*fades back into the void of Submas fics.*

After spending most of the day just drawing for it, I am excited to introduce my take on the Zorua/Zoroark submas au concept!
I haven’t decided on a title for it and the Google doc is just called “Zoro-character ark” but I do have many thoughts about it. The ways it differs from other Zoroark aus is that a) it is one of the ones where both twins are pokemon and b) they are an incredibly rare phenomenon where their human appearances aren’t illusions but are instead actual fully developed forms that are indistinguishable from a regular human in almost every way. They were found in the forest as human children and taken in by Drayden and had to learn how to access and control their pokemon forms later in life.
Tumblr media
Emmet was the first to accidentlly discover what he actually is but Ingo proved that neither was fully human not long after. They have three kinds of forms as described in these VERY quickly made guide sketches
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Other than that, which just outlines the base world the au takes place in, any of the au I write would focus on Hisui and/or post reunion. In Hisui, during a terrible storm near the cliffs that overlook the sea, Ingo ordered his Pokémon to prioritize getting themselves to saftey and ends up dying. His pokemon find him as a Hisuian Zorua very quickly, before he is really conscious, and take him in. When he becomes strong and healthy enough to regain access to his human form (he thankfully still has one) he excuses the many months of absence as getting caught up in bad weather. Only Akari ever learns that he isn’t only human in Hisui and she meets him a months after he has already convinced everyone that he never died so she doesn’t know that hewas ever different. The only other creatures he speaks to in Hisui, his pokemon and charge, already know the story- knew what happened to him before even he did. Due to this, he never had to really think about or explain what happened to him. When he gets back to modern day and his family, he avoids as many situations where he would otherwise shift as possible before finally running out of excuses (and his pokemon’s patience). He didn’t want to acknowledge what happened and he feared that learning of his fate would make it harder for his family to look at him but being able to be himself around them again and gaining help on carrying the burden turns out to be verrrrry much so worth it.
Here are the rest of the sketches/information pages I have so far, focusing on their adult designs/life. I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at this au and hope to write or draw more for it in the future.

AU where Ingo lands in Hisui, but his memories remain intact. He's still found by the Pearl Clan, and it takes him a while to realize hey wait this isn't just some isolated clan in the middle of nowhere, this is like. The Past.
Anyways, having his memories, Ingo actually... finds himself butting heads with a lot of people in the clan, even if he's doing his best to be perfectly polite. Their superstitions lead to unhealthy practices and it's driving him insane. Where's the safety checks?!
It actually comes to a head when Ingo sees firsthand how people treat twins. Him being an identical twin suddenly feels very fucking unsafe in this settlement when he hears them talking about taking the firstborn twin and literally murdering them. They're NOT a Zorua! Holy shit, Zoroark illusions can't trick you into feeling like you gave BIRTH, what sort of ridiculous thought process is this?!
Ingo takes the baby and runs.
Doesn't end up getting very far. Nobody follows, of course, like, they're gonna die out there anyways, no point to caring. Meanwhile Ingo ends up right in the middle of Zoroark territory and he's just. Not really afraid of these guys?
"Terribly sorry for invading your territory, but could you direct me to where I may go so me and my passenger can rest our cab for the time being?"
The Zoroark are like. Hey this guy is weirdly nice. Also he's got like a literal baby, they're not MONSTERS. Hmmm sure follow us pal.
Ingo and his new baby gets adopted by a Zoroark pack.

AUs in the running!
(Not in bracket order) (Going to be slowly updated over time as I send out more messages and get more responses)
But first! The tagging system!
🐶 Ingo or Emmet are something non human (like a cretur, ghost, pokemon or some other non human thing)
🔥 This AU features intense emotions that may not be suitable for people who are looking for a more easy going experience (sometimes people can’t handle strong angst or horror- and that’s totally okay! This tag is to show that this AU may not be for them)
📚 This AU has a comic or fic you can read! (Purely organizational tag)
Every AU is tagged by the author according to what they think is best. Use these tags as guidelines when looking for new AUs and not as hard and fast rules.

Hmm, why go for the wardens and nobles and not Volo specifically? I feel like Volo would be... tainted? in some way, maybe. Or somehow otherwise spiritually affected, by doing weird shit with giratina. Probably a ghost pokemon could sense that, especially since giratina is a ghost too. I feel like Hisuian zoruas would probably be pretty sensitive to sensing malice in other people too, and I'm sure Volo has a lot of it tucked away. I feel like Ingo would probably hold more of a grudge against giratina anyway, since that was what took him, rather than arceus who stole the protag
the last part is the question! since i do generally think that it was giratina's intervention that brought ingo to hisui, BUT i've also seen some ppl propose that he was an initial attempt at arceus summoning a champion that it fucked up even worse than the protag's, which i think is also a fun idea, and since he obviously has no idea which one it is in canon i feel like you could go either way here.
so like, if it were giratina's doing, he'd totally be targeting volo (and i think also trying to cure the nobles of frenzy alongside the protag, since it's also giratina's influence and he hates to see anything unwillingly touched by it). CONVERSELY, if he was killed by arceus, he'd more likely be after the nobles in general, and either he'd be also targeting the protag or he'd be sympathizing with them and trying to free them from arceus' grip. any and all options are fun imo lol

you should do a submas fic rec post o7
Ooo good idea! Here's a few fics I adore to pieces and have reread more than a few times:
we'll build a bridge (An incomplete collection of unconnected one shots)
Summary: The only constant is this: they find each other. The how might change, but the why doesn’t, and the why is what matters, here. (The why is this: one never stops searching, and one never stops hoping.)
(Made me cry multiple times. Happy endings and heartfelt reunions: it's got everything you need to feel good inside. My favorite chaoters are 3 and 8)
Ounce of Prevention (incomplete)
Summary: If one suspects strangers of causing the apocalypse, one generally should not allow them to continue to roam free. They should ideally be restrained until their innocence (or guilt) can be proven. Even if one of them is a child and openly sobbing at the thought of her only family hating her. Even if the other one's absence is probably going to be noticed by a very large, very dangerous Pokémon.
Elsewhere, the rift spits out a man in white. He's not her Warden, but Sneasler will take all the help she can get in finding him.
(ABSOLUTELY INSANELY GOOD like this is one of my favorite submas fics. Just thrilling and had be binge it in a frenzy. Awesome action scenes, cool plot, and badass Emmet, like seriously Emmet's characterization here is god tier and I think about it constantly. I actually drew a comic based on a scene from this fic here. )
In Tandem (Incomplete)
Summary: Or in which Arceus calls upon two pairs of twins to stop two doomsday plots simultaneously.
Ingo and Emmet are summoned to two different Jubilifes, to two different teenagers to aid them in their seemingly innocent journeys for reasons they do not fully understand. Dark machinations are at work though, and if everyone wants to get home safe at the end of the day it will take every ounce of strength, conviction and courage to brave the trials set before them.
(A verrrry good story: good plot (like you'll get invested), good action, good pacing, and good characterization! I haven't read many fics with Lucas and Dawn and this ones just amazing. I wait patiently for its updates)
The Hand (Complete)
Summary: It was something Ingo always wondered about.
(Unexpected premise but I really like it for some reason and have reread it multiple times)
Give Not Into Sorrow (Complete)
Summary: Something strange is going on in Hisui. There are reports of a man in white roaming the wildlands while leading a pack of Pokemon . Some say they're a mix of Pokemon, some claim they're a pack of zoroarks. Some swear that the man is none other than the amnesiac warden of the Pearl Clan. One thing is certain. Those who meet the man in white all report the same thing: He is looking for his brother. And he will not rest until he finds him.
(Absolutely beautiful and heart wrenching. Deal with grief, with anger and with holding on and letting go. Drew a comic for this just yesterday too)
Conductor of Stone (Completed)
Summary: Ingo was not alone when he woke up in the region of Hisui.
There was a man next to him who shared his face. With a body as cold as ice.
Who are you?
A Land of the Lustrous au! Cool concept and excellent writing that sucks you in. This is actually part of a series which is also very good. The author, PerpetuallySleepy, is a favorite of mine too and they have a bunch of other ones shot fics I recommend checking out!
Intermittent Retention (Complete)
Summary: In theory, the space-time distortions should not overly effect Ingo's daily routine. They certainly wouldn't, if he could remember what happens after he steps inside of them. Even that could be overlooked, reluctantly, if Ingo weren't overwhelmingly drawn to them despite their amnesia-inducing properties. Or if anyone else had this problem. Something happens to Ingo when time and space break down around him, something that leaves him with fierce joy and crippling grief he cannot find a source for, and he's going to figure out what in the world is going on.
(Sweet and sad and beautiful.)
Diamond Crossing (Complete)
Summary: So, here’s the thing. Elesa’s best friend is a little…weird.
She means it in the nicest way possible. But there’s no getting around the fact that Coop is weird.
Their mood swings are all over the place, very serious at one moment and unhinged child at the next. They sprouted train facts at the drop of the hat, insisted on not only being in charge of Gear Station but taking it a step further and turning Gear Station into the Battle Subway. They’re honestly crazy for that alone.
Elesa does her modeling career on top of being a Gym Leader and a lot of people think she’s crazy. She will argue that it’s nothing compared to Coop running the entire transportation system for Nimbasa City on top of being a Battle Facility.
She adores Coop though. She really means it when she says Coop is her best friend. And no matter how crazy Coop comes across as, she knows Coop won't hurt anyone.
("Well, there are exceptions, of course," Coop says, tone serious and expression set to a frown. "We don’t allow unruly passengers for starters." They then smiled, brightening. "And anyone who makes Elesa cry will be tied to the train track and run over." )
(A super interesting concept and I love fusion aus! It's actually part of a series that are loosely connected together. Fun times galore)
Emmet wasn't scared (Complete)
Summary:
Emmet knew his brother will be alright since they were fourteen.
Or: Emmet wasn't scared when his brother went missing. He already knew he would
(Short and haunting)

What pokemon do you think the sanses would have?
OKAY SO
(This is so long I'm so sorry, readmore for sanity)
Because I’m utterly insane, I’ve split this into 2 categories because I have different thoughts for both, but the first one is what you’ve actually asked which is what pokemon they would have if they were in some kinda pokemon trainer au. (I’m not gonna do them whole entire teams cause that would make this even longer, I’m just gonna give one or two)
For Nightmare I could see him gravitating to poison or dark types, because y’know, that’s on brand for him and he needs to be scary lol Something like muk would be a good fit with his goopiness, but what I find fascinating is that there’s a legendary pokemon that fits him like scarily well and that’s darkrai. It’s a mythical pokemon known for causing never-ending nightmares and it feeds off of them, and it also has a counterpart that helps ward off the nightmares and keep it in check. AND it’s design only has one eye showing and the shiny colours make that eye cyan. So like, that would be a perfect fit for him lol
I also think he would have a noctowl just because it scares Dream
Dream I feel like would be very grass or bug type, like he was raised in nature and I feel like he would still want that around. Especially since a lot of grass types know healing moves, it seems like that would be his kinda vibe in picking up after Nightmare’s damage. Maybe something like cherrim since that reacts to the sun or even sawsbuck since it’s also kinda tree-adjacent. And he would also be perfect to get cresselia, which is the counterpart to darkrai! It doesn’t really fit him as closely in design as darkrai does for Nightmare but it basically lives near darkrai to keep an eye on it and shows up after it’s been somewhere to help ward off the nightmares and bring people good dreams, so it’s weirdly them-coded lol (They're literally called the lunar duo)
As for the others, -Killer has a liepard to me. They’re a big majestic cat that loves to sneak up on people to steal or attack, it’s perfect for him. Also possibly a weavile would be good since they’re very quick and slashy. -I think hisuian zoroark fits Dust really well, since it’s whole situation is about dying and coming back to life out of spite and killing everything and driving others insane, it feels like it would slot into his situation nicely. -I feel like greedent would be good for Horror, maybe moreso once he’s out of his au, since they love to gather food and store it in their tails. It would probably be kinda comforting to basically have a snack buddy with you at all times. -Cross is never escaping the dog influences on his character so he gets a mightyena or maybe a mabosstiff, they’re very well trained in battle and also he loves them more than life itself he would do anything for them. -I love associating Ink with ferrets now so he gets furret, they can both hunch over together while he’s drawing lol but also maybe a grafaiai for him? They like making graffiti and colouring in the trees in the area they live in which feels like a good fit for him.
Now. Here’s where I go truly insane lol I have different answers for if you’re asking what pokemon would they be, like if this was an au where everybody is turned into a pokemon.
Nightmare and Dream are complicated because like.
There’s a pokemon called malamar which is a big evil squid that uses dark magic and one of the pokedex entries says it was even involved in history-changing events. That’s completely Nightmare right?
And there’s a pokemon called decidueye which is a big grass type owl (which I love to call back to your furry Dream) that wears a cloak/cape and shoots arrows at people. That’s totally Dream!
I feel like those two are great fits for them but the problem is if they’re two completely different pokemon they can’t be twins, so I have an alternative suggestion which is to make both of them eevees, which eventually evolve into espeon (Dream) and umbreon (Nightmare). The way to evolve eevee into those two is friendship, so it would possibly have to take place during a truce to make it the most meaningful but I think it would be cool.
Anyway, Killer is houndoom coded to me. I don’t know why, there’s just something about him that my brain cannot disconnect from this hellhound. He takes orders and he has red prominent in the colour scheme. Also the pokedex says if you get burned by a houndoom the pain is with you forever and I bet Killer would love to have that effect lol
I know people hate the rabbit association for Dust but just hear me out. Raboot is very him. It looks annoyed all the time, it has a little pocket to shove it’s hands in like his hoodie and it’s got red fur around the bottom of it’s face like the scarf he wears.
Obvious choice is a bear pokemon for Horror because everybody does that, and I could definitely see him as ursaluna with the big intimidating energy, but for some reason I get a real vibe of tyranitar about him. Just like with Killer it’s based on absolutely nothing, but I can really picture him as this big towering dinosaur with some spikes missing on one side of his head
Again, I want to make Cross lycanroc because big fierce loyal puppy with a limited colour palette, but y’know what I think is a great fit for him? Absol. It’s black and white and it has red eyes and it’s wrongly blamed for things it didn’t do so it lives in isolation, plus the mega evolution gets wings which just feel like they fit him (looking at dragon furry Cross not gonna lie lol)
They literally have an Ink pokemon and it’s smeargle. He’s a little artist who uses his tail as a paintbrush and can change the colour of the paint coming from it, they also can steal any move from other pokemon mid-battle which feels like something Ink would do lol
Anyway I need to spend the next 16 hours drawing pokesonas for skeletons now thank you <3
