1, 12, 27, 34 and 38 for the writer's ask game 😊🌸
1. Do you listen to music when you write?
Not really! I listen to music to get inspired but I rarely have anything on when I actually write. Sometimes I have had. But music is important to my writing process, I have a lot of song references in my fics.
12. Describe your perfect writing space
One where I feel safe and not too distracted. The space can be my home, our office when it’s empty, even a parked car if the weather is nice enough to have windows open, a public space if I can set myself so that nobody looks over my shoulder. Perfect? Utter perfection? Clean home where I’m alone and I have tea and candy.
27. Favourite line/scene
I think I have many that I really like but right now I think I’ll mention the beach walk / camp fire scene in Jussi at Jussi’s/ Jussi Jussilla. I hope you know what I mean.
34. What was the hardest scene you ever had to write?
It might have been two: there’s a rope bondage scene in camera ready where I really had to pay attention to the continuity and it still slipped out with a stupid error that I had to fix. (Chapter 31, country style rope bondage)
Or then it is a bar fight scene in the beginning of Midnight in Paris / Minä suojelen sinua kaikelta. Action is really hard to write and I have so little experience with fist fighting or in general any physical violence that I had a hard time setting the pace and the mood and the physical feel for it.
(Or then it is the one that I am stuck with, I’m second guessing every detail in a small domestic mundane action of getting Nepalese takeout food because I only have experience of Nepalese restaurants in Finland and I’m not at all sure how universal it is, I have spent an disproportionate amount of time reading menus of Nepalese restaurants in different countries. Writing is HARD!)
38. Weirdest story idea you’ve ever had
I’m a pretty realistic writer, and I think that the idea for my football rpf fic Father Cristiano’s Redemption started out as weird crack fic, Cristiano Ronaldo is this failed catholic priest who serves in a small Welsh village to redeem himself and there is an angel that he talks to like Father Camillo talked to the Jesus on the crucifix in his church, and there would be all these villagers.
Out of the story ideas that I never wrote, I think using the plot of Cars to have Linus Torvalds and Zlatan Ibrahimovic bonding over cursing in Swedish was weird. Winnipeg Jets as Ice Road Truckers would have been much more normal.
39. Weirdest character concept you’ve ever had (sorry you didn’t ask this! I mixed up this and the previous one and wrote a long ass answer before I noticed and I’m not deleting it.)
I don’t have any characters that would be like “a five-dimensional entity that communicates through smells” so maybe it is James Rodríguez as an angel that has taken his human form from a painting in a church and has parts of that painting (like flowers and a face of a child) imprinted on his skin. (I was inspired by his tattoos)
He has wings, duh!
Thank you for the ask!

Growing up, Ronaldo didn't have the catchiest of nicknames. Suggested Reading : The 5 Most Iconic Athletes in the History of Sports and Their Inspirational Stories 3.
