A SUPER RARE FIND! It's not expensive though... Shortened versions of its A-side "Green Light" are scattered over numerous late nineties compilation CDs but this; its B-side was not anywhere to be found except on the vinyl itself. It's groovy, tribal(ish) and kinda straight forward despite its clumsy tunes and hi hats, but it's naughty enough! Cheers!

Quite sure this one doesn’t need any introduction or prologue… And yet here I go:

After James Wan & Leigh Whannel’s high school project (the first Saw film) was a wrap, it was inevitable that a major movie studio would hook its teeth in this project for an even greater profit.

So, Lionsgate placed its sabertooth beek into the carotid artery of the hows, whats and whens of the notorious Jigsaw killer.

Despite all sequels being inferiously horrendous after Saw III, this movie franchise revealed itself to be a multi-million dollar industry, guarded heavily by an exponential fanbase who along the way even converted to the philosophy and prophecies of the movie’s main antagonist John Kramer (Jigsaw).

Without intention or premeditated intent a new genre was blown back to life: torture porn! (For my youngest of readers: the first Saw film was released in 2004, way before we were abhorred by the sudden appearance of Art The Clown and we had to make do with that, believe it or not!)

Ex Nine Inch Nails band member Charlie Clouser was asked to also score Saw II, this time for director Darren Lynn Bousman who ultimately directed the franchise up until Saw IV (the most disgusting, over hurried, underdeveloped and nauseating piece of film ever released in my opinion) *The hair puller scene!!*

Where Charlie Clouser introduced his skills and craftsmanship over combining industrial disruptive music with storytelling, yet pitch black & dark hearted ambient music in the first Saw, he reinvents the exact formula as described above but he ‘takes the music out of the horrific bathroom with Lawrence & Adam and guides it down a more time warped journey where time is of the essence, more than ever as a group of victims wake up in an abandoned house only to discover the only way out is to locate an antidote hidden somewhere inside the house and administer it to each other before the timer runs out, since they are slowly breathing in a deadly nerve agent. Yet to obtain the antidote, each victim soon realises the journey is not done without a deep look inward… Oh yes, there will be blood!’

Cool thing is: the whole soundtrack is the actual length of the film, it’s actually one big suite! Best Charlie Clouser track of the whole Saw franchise is without a doubt ‘I’ll Take You’ as featured on this soundtrack.

Very excited to finally own a copy of the complete Zillion series boxset from Funimation. Sadly this is a North American exclusive so you have to import if you live outside that region. Zillion features a SEGA promotional cameo by Opa-Opa from Fantasy Zone and SEGA even modelled the Master System Light Phaser on the iconic weapon from the show
