Habits to Pick Up in a Month
I never thought that all this postgraduate preparation would last a lot longer than I expected. I thought this month would be my final endeavor, where I would submit my resignation letter to my office, wait for the one-month notice period, and then go back to my hometown to live with my family before flying to London for school this September.
But as time keeps moving forward, the next phase of my preparation is now approaching.
This has been the current and temporary timeline.
I am currently waiting for the response from UCL, I really have a big hope to this application as my plan to apply the second term of LPDP registration with Unconditional LOA in hand.
However, there is a slight uncertainty here, first the response might be coming very closed to the closing of LPDP registration which would be in July 18. Second, I am applying for conditional LOA where I still need to catch up for a better IELTS score, that is where this first phase of preparation begins.
However, what makes me most anxious is that, according to testimonials I found online, some people waited almost two weeks to receive the final unconditional offer from UCL after submitting all the required documents. Since I applied to UCL in early April, I might receive the final response in early July, very close to the registration deadline. Right?
However, I can't control all these factors except by praying to God that I receive the unconditional offer before registering my LPDP application next month. But to be frank, let alone I am really afraid I could not make it to get accepted to this university.
But right now, my priority is preparing for the IELTS again. I plan to retake the test on June 30th. I have two weeks from today for preparation, which is quite short, but I hope to achieve a better score.
Following that, I need to revisit my essay and make it more solid. During the first phase, I noticed several mistakes and weaknesses in my arguments that I must improve in the next cycle.
Since I have a 10 to 5 job every weekday, here's how I've structured my learning plan:
04:00 - Wake up, pray Tahajud, engage in Zikr, Subuh
05:00 - Prepare breakfast
06:00 - IELTS practice (Continuously practicing all four aspects of the test, as I understand the importance of adapting to the continuous pressure of testing without breaks)
09:00 - Read various topics to enhance vocabulary and sentence structure
10:00 to 19:00 - Work
19:00 to 22:00 - Read books and listen to English-based content
22:00 - Sleep
That's the plan—I hope I can stick to it and achieve improved results and confidence afterward.

I’m writing you bc I haven’t talked with anyone about this. I had a 6y relationship with a non-Muslim (literally nobody knows, not even my friends. Only his and his family) & even though I knew it’s a sin, I couldn’t let go. I broke up with him almost 1,5y ago due to finding out that he’s been doing drugs almost the whole relationship & also bc he admitted that he doesn’t think that islam is the right religion for him (he used to insure me that he’d convert and that he doesn’t drink, one of many lies). I know that our breakup is a relief since I’m not sinning anymore but I’m in so much pain. I still love him the same way and I feel like I won’t be able to love s/o after him again. I don’t even feel attracted to the middle eastern men at all. What if I never get over him & end up alone? I’m already 25. Even if I learn someone, what if they leave after finding about my sinful relationship? I’ve been crying myself to sleep almost every Day since I broke up. The only reason why I haven’t killed my self yet is because I know I’d end up in hell.
Salam alikum sister. Sorry for the delayed response. I hope inShaAllah this answer finds you in the best of iman and health.
Allah is the one who mends the broken hearts. He can mend your broken heart and make you fall in love again with the right man. Allah can fix you. But you need to turn to Him first fully, heart, mind and soul.
The waswaas of never getting over your ex, never falling in love again, never being able to find someone like him, these are all from shaitan so that you return to a sinful practice.
You're not already 25; rather, you are only 25! You have a life ahead of you. There are soo many sisters that are older than you yet still single. Dont let your fear of getting old without a partner by your side make you revert to a sinful act or choose the wrong partner.
Marriage is a lifelong commitment. You will find the right one when Allah has written for you to find him. Be at peace knowing that the name of your spouse was written next to yours more than 10,000 years before you were born! Things will fall into place when its best for you so don't worry about these things for now.
Try to move on from what has passed. Make lots of istighfar. InShaAllah Allah will forgive you for your mistakes of the past and grant you peace of heart (Ameen).
Also, please do not ever reveal this sin to any of your friends, family or future/potential spouse. It is only between you and Allah. He has chosen to hide your sin. So do not reveal it to anyone. This practice of telling a potential spouse (or even your spouse once your married to them) about your past relationships or sins is NOT ISLAMIC! Allah does not want us to reveal our sins to anyone. He only wants us to ask for forgiveness so that He grants it to us..
Just focus on healing yourself for now. Cry it out if you need to; its ok to cry if it makes you feel better.
Some tips to make yourself feel better:
Do not keep any pictures, chats or memories of your ex. Discard and dispose them permanently. Do not look at his social media accounts. Block if required
Try to take on a new hobby: example workout a few days a week, try to learn a new language, invest in some good islamic books and start reading, cooking, writing, join a class (possibly online) (could be religious knowledge), go back to school to study further.. whatever you are interested in. Keep yourself busy!
Do alot of istighfar and always always keep your tongue moist with remembrance of Allah. Pick your favourite zikr and hold on to it in such a manner tha you will never let go for the rest of your life. My favourite is sending salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ :)
If you feel sad and miss your ex before going to sleep, play quran recitation or ayat-e-sakina before going to sleep. InShaAllah they will help you sleep better. Play it through out the day as well. It will give your heart coolness and peace.
Add tahajjud to your routine. Start with 10 minutes before fajr and a short 2 rakah and gradually build up. It makes a world of a difference. Speaking from experience: nothing in this world brings the peace that Tahajjud brings
Remember that suicide is a sin. If you need, speak to a counsellor; there's no harm in it. It is a waswasa from shaitan. So each time you have this thought, seek refuge from shaitan.
Lastly, my duas are with you. It will take time to heal. The damage has been done. Now is the time to fix it. Do istighfar and give yourself time.
And trust that Allah can fix you and your broken heart. Turn to Him with sincerity, He is waiting.. Maybe, He will open doors for you that you never imagined walking through. Use this time to reflect, repent and grow.
And please do speak to a counsellor or someone you trust. It will make you feel alot better inShaAllah. If you do not find someone to speak to, pour your heart out in Tahajjud and speak to Allah. He is the Wali (Protective Friend) of those who believe. He will turn the darkness in your life to light. But please take the first step. You have to want and try to move on (and you're already doing it). Just be patient with the process.
May Allah make ease for you. AMEEN.

Why we recite "TASBEEH E ZEHRA" (sa).? ❤️
The Tasbeeh of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (s.a.) is from the emphatically recommended acts of worship in the Islamic Shariat. It has immense significance in the eyes of the infallible Imams (a.s.) and the Shiite jurists.
It is a simple ,short yet very powerful act of worship from the aspect of performance; its effect, reward and merit are abundant.
This can be gauged from the fact that when the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) wished to impart this act of worship to his daughter Lady Zahra (s.a.), he declared,
‘O Fatima! I have granted you something that is superior to a maidservant and to the world and everything in it.
(Aasaar o Asraare Tasbeehe Zahra (s.a.) Pg. 7)
In this context Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) informs, ‘Allah is not worshipped by anything more meritorious than the Tasbeeh of Fatima Zahra (s.a.).
Had there been any worship superior to it, most surely the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) would have granted it to Janabe Fatima (s.a.).
(Wasaaelush Shia , Vol 4 Pg. 1024)
Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says about the dearness of this Tasbeeh in the eyes of the Imams of the Ahlulbayt (a.s.):
“Reciting Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) everyday after every Salat is liked by me more than reciting one thousand rakats of (mustahab) namaz”.
(Al-Kafi, Kitabus Salaat)
Reciting this Tasbeeh results in forgiveness of sins. In a tradition , Imam Mohammad Baqir (as) says:
“One who recites the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) and then seeks forgiveness, will be forgiven”.
(Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1023)
It also results in driving Shaitan away and in the satisfaction of Allah as tradition from Imam Mohammad Baqir (a.s.) says:“(Reciting Tasbeeh) drives away Shaitan and makes results in the satisfaction of Allah”.
(Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1023)
Reciting Tasbeeh regularly delivers the reciter from adversities in this world as well as the hereafter.
One of the graceful effects of the regular recitation of the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) is that it delivers the reciter from adversities and hardships in this world as well as the hereafter.
Thus one should not ignore its benefits and effects and should not be careless and lazy in its recitation
In this connection, Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says to one of his companions :
“ You do adhere to it and be regular about its recitation, for surely one who is steadfast upon its recitation will not encounter adversity.”
(Al-Kafi, Kitabus Salaat, Pg. 343)
How to recite Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra s.a.🌹
According to a tradition from Imam Jafar Sadiq, one should recite Allaho Akbar 34 times, Alhamdolillah 33 times and Subhaanallah 33 times.
(Behaarul Anwaar Vol 85, Pg. 334)
Reciting Tasbeeh immediately after Salat ❤️
Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) should be recited immediately on completion of Namaz. This entails that as soon as the reciter has finished the Namaz, he should remain seated in the same position of Tashahud without moving his feet and doing any other thing, immediately he should commence the recitation of the Tasbeeh.
The reciting of Tasbeeh immediately on completion of Namaz has a special excellence, which is not there otherwise.
The above statement can be evidenced by the following tradition of Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) wherein he states: “One who recites the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) before even moving his feet, Allah will forgive him..”
(At-Tahzeeb of Shaikh Toosi (r.a.) Vol 2 Pg. 105)
Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) has said :
“One who recites the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) after a wajib namaz before he stretches out his legs ( i.e. he recites the Tasbeeh while he is in the posture of Tashahud) , then Jannat becomes wajib upon him”
(Falaahus Saael by Ibne Taaoos (r.a.), Pg. 165)
A tradition from Imam Sadiq (a.s.) says: ❤️
“One who glorifies Allah after the obligatory prayer through the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.), and then follows it up by saying ‘Laa elaaha illallaho’, Allah will forgive his sins.”
(Al-Kafi, Kitabus Salaat, Pg. 342)
Reciting the Tasbeeh of Syeda Zahra (s.a.) before sleeping ❤️❤️
Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says :
“One who recites the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) at the time of going to bed, he will be accounted amongst those who have remembered Allah a lot.”
(Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1026)
In the book ‘Wasaaelush Shia’ there is a tradition from Imam Mohammad Baqir (as) which says that at the time of going to bed, Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.)and then Maoozatain (Surah Falaq and Surah Naas) and Ayatul Kursi should be recited.
Teaching the recitation of Tasbeeh to the children ❤️
In this connection, Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says : “ O Abu Haroon! We order our children to recite the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.)in the same manner as we order them for the performance of Namaz ”
(Al-Kafi, Kitabus Salaat, Pg. 343)
Reciting Tasbeeh made out of the Turbah of grave of Imam Husain (a.s.) ❤️
It is better that the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) be made of the pure Turbah (soil) of the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.)
It has been narrated from Imame Zamana (a.t.f.s.), “ One who just holds the Tasbeeh made out of the soil of the grave of Imam Husain (as) and does not do any Zikr, even then for him will be written the reward of having recited the Azkaar”
(Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1033)
Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says : “One zikr or Isteghfaar recited on the Tasbeeh made out of the soil of the grave of Imam Husain (as) is equal to 70 such zikr recited on any other thing.”
(Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1033)
Some noteworthy points: 💯
1. One of the conditions of worship, rather the most important of them all, is being attentive in its performance. This is specially so in the recitation of Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.).
2. There should be continuity in the recitation of the Tasbeeh without any interruptions. This has been the practice of our holy Imams (a.s.)
(Al- Kaafi, Kitaabus Salaat, Pg. 343 )
1. In case one has a doubt regarding the number of Azkaar that he has recited, then he should start again. This is according to a tradition from Imam Sadiq (a.s.)
(Al- Kaafi, Kitaabus Salaat, Pg. 342 )
Thus, by the grace of Allah and the blessings of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) , we have come to realize the importance of reciting Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) and its merits. We pray to Allah to grant us the Taufeeq that we may be regular in its recitation.

What a productive friday morning!
Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.
Perlindungan dan pertolongan Allah itu benar sekali adanya.
As you know, It was hard for me to get up early. Even do the fajr prayer before 6. I often miss my morning routine and hurry to go to the campuss :'(.
But last night is different.
I didn't feel sleepy until about 2 am. Then I was a bit anxious, how if I can't get up early to do fajr prayer on time? I'm afraid that my bad habit would be repeated.
Then, i do the steps before go to sleep. Based on a writing in draft ugm and nussa rara video. Lol.
I set the alarm(just once), I took ablution, I swept my bed, I recited ayat kursi, tri qul, and spreaded it all over my body, I recited dua before sleep, I tried to purify my heart and mind, I asked Allah to give me ability to wake up at 04.30, and I did affirmation to myself that I truly believe Allah will give me ability.
Then I tried to sleep with my face on the right side. I could not sleep, but I kept my zikr.
Taraa! Surprisingly I really get up at 04.30. Without falling asleep again :').
Masya Allah, rasanya mudah banget kalo udah ngikutin "SOP" nya Allah dan ngelibatin Allah. Ini berlaku untuk hal lain juga ya sal :")
See ya on the next productive morning!

Jumu'ah Khuthbah: 1 April 2022
Let's begin with a dua'a for your Auntie Gadija's Abbu/Dad who's critically ill in Uitenhage:
Ya Sabur Ya Latif Ya Shafi
(Yearning for Allah's patience and ease with the healing)
#1. As such, Shaykh Nishaat as the son-in-law warily reflected that when we look at our earthly lives, we experience both good and bad - as they had just experienced the bad. We are told in Islam that the only way forward, is to surrender our ego or nafs.
Even though we struggle with politics to gain social unity - especially in the Muslim world - and the hopeful acquisition of an alternative financial system than the one that we're in, that has caused gross poverty and inequality. It is all dependent on transforming ourselves, but we struggle with this and oppose it with our nafs! Whereas, Prophet Muhammed SAW's followers were ready for the social transformation which he brought. We are told by Allah, those who purify themselves are the successful ones.
#2. We were then reminded of Naf-e Mardhiah.
Nafs-e Mardhiah (The Pleased Soul) - At this level, the soul is completely pleased with the Will and Purpose of Allah. This was the level achieved by the Companions of Prophet Muhammad-SAWS as a result of direct exposure to his sacred heart.
http://www.owaisiah.com/spiritualsystem.htm
The transformation in the spiritual system happens in small pieces and not suddenly as a lightning strike. How we are offended by others can easily be the way they feel about you, as I learnt a few days ago. Out of a dreadful, sleep-deprived interaction with a person of my past.
We are on 7 levels in our spiritual system. The Muslim is one who has surrendered but Islam is not easy. The path is hard and will get harder, is the truth. Sufism is the path of Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. We have to understand, reflect and slow down, which is my biggest impulsive downfall, especially post-accident. I guess it's because our accident happened so suddenly, I am always in a rush to enact my future as the moment. However, the very next moment leaves me with dread - so it's as Shaykh Nishaat reflected. We must always look within ourselves first.
And as your Rehbir Abbu said we must go beyond our fixation with proving right and wrong, and ensure that our intentions and actions are scrupulously right.
#3. Shaykh Taner remarked on a simple truth which our faculty of seeing and hearing could appreciate, within virtual reality. However, he casually asked can someone see another without the internet?
In our spiritual system; we believe in rabita or heart-connection through our spiritual lineage which serves as a dynamic link to Allah. It is an unseen and unheard but palpable reality, and as an accident survivor that was brought out of a 2-month coma - I am proof of it. However I wish to cave to my struggles and strife, I am kept here to grow!
https://www.aqrtsufi.org/sufism/rabita.html
#4. Was an admirable declaration that Shaykh Taner himself as our spiritual mentor made. That he wouldn't be able to call himself truly Muslim until he dies. I guess that's why declaring shahada (a declaration of faith) near your time of death is held in high Islamic esteem.
How will I know that I will pass the next test; as Ibrahim AS had done.
#5. We have to see Allah's blessings and not be shortsighted!
I will leave that as the writing on the wall that Shaykh Taner painted, so it's loud and clear...
Now Alhamdulillah your Abbu is here with us to perform our Jumu'ah proceedings. With a bismillah we commence to his Arabic Khuthbah. As an enactment of our holiday Zikr; Bismillah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akber which completes our trio before the start of Ramadan!

🍃🌹🍃 The Secret Of The Tasbeeh Of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (sa)
📿 Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (as) said:
“One who recites the Tasbeeh of Sayeda Fatima al-Zahra (sa) Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (as) said:
“One who recites the Tasbeeh of Sayeda Fatima al-Zahra (sa) after a wajib namaz before he stretches out his legs (i.e. he recites the Tasbeeh while he is in the posture of Tashahhud), then Jannat becomes wajib upon him”
Falaah Saael by Ibne Taoos (ra)
(page. 165)
📿 Another tradition from Imam al-
Sadiq (as) says:
“One who glorifies Allah after the obligatory prayer through the Tasbeeh of Sayeda Fatima al-Zahra (sa) and then follows it up by saying ‘Laa ilaaha illallah’, Allah will forgive his sins.”
Al-Kafi, Kitabus Salaat
(page. 342)
📿 Reciting the Tasbeeh of
Fatima al-Zahra (sa) before
sleeping Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (as)
says:
“One who recites the Tasbeeh of sayeda Fatima al-Zahra (sa) at the time of going to bed, he will be accounted amongst those who have remembered Allah a lot.”
Wasaaelush Shia
(vol. 4, pg. 1026)
📿 In the book ‘Wasaaelush Shia’
there is a tradition from Imam
Muhammad al-Baqir (as)
which says that at the time of going to bed, Tasbeeh of Sayeda Fatima al-Zahra (sa) and then Mauzatain (Surah Falaq and Surah Naas) and Ayatul Kursi should be recited.
📿 Teaching the recitation of
Tasbeeh to the children In this
connection, Imam Jafar al-Sadiq
(as) says:
“O Abu Haroon! We order our children to recite the Tasbeeh of Fatima al-Zahra (sa) in the same manner as we order them for the performance of Namaz”
Al-Kafi, Kitabus Salaat
(page. 343)
📿 Reciting Tasbeeh made out of the Turbah of grave of Imam Hussain (as) It is better that the Tasbeeh of Fatima
al-Zahra (sa) be made of the pure Turbah (soil) of the grave of Hamza (as).
📿 It has been narrated from
Imam e-Zaman (atfj)
“One who just holds the Tasbeeh made out of the soil of the grave of Imam Hussain (as) and does not do any Zikr, even then for him will be written the reward of having recited the Azkaar”
Wasaaelush Shia
(vol. 4, pg. 1033)
📿 Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (as) says:
“One zikr or Istighfaar recited on the Tasbeeh made out of the soil of the grave of Imam Hussain (as) is equal to 70 such zikr recited on any other thing.”
Wasaaelush Shia

Home is where my heart is, always.
Because going home is a luxury travel not many can experience, so here goes, my journey home Bismillah!
9.5.2021
I had the privilage of coming home after the longest i've been away from home. I actually couldn't sleep the night before. Hahaha. I think if i could, i would've stayed at the airport overnight LOL! Woke up even before my sahur alarm rang and I was amazingly full (maybe because of the giddyness in the thought of going home! Hihi)
Arrived at the airport pretty early, 6.30am already sampai weh! HAHAH And my flight was at 8.05am. I'm living in a small town, plus it was a sunday so traffic is non existance, one can imagine how early i was at the airport🤣
Anyhow, i checked in. Dropped my luggage (yes, i had to because i can no longer lift heavy item after the nerve & muscle issue on my lower back. Also because its full of kuih raya and chocs i bought for the fam😆) and I filled the health declaration form then straight to check in clearance. Twas actually nerve wrecking (not literally tho haha) because i may be denied flying but alhamdulillah i went thru pdrm checks and custom clearance smoothly. P/s: i was praying and reciting zikr the whole time its like im sitting for an exam lols!
My first flight in 9 freaking months! 9 months Ya Rabb! Crazy! Can you believe, i was air sick? I dont know whether it was bcs i was fasting and it was almost that time of the month (iykyk haha) but i felt dizzy and almost throw up) had i not been fasting, i probably already did!😂 but despite that, i didnt sleep at all. Im such a sleepy head 24/7 i literally can sleep anywhere and anytime, but i thought i should savor the view outside. I literally fly home almost every week before the whole pandemic thing so i didnt care at all to look out the window bcs in the back of my mind i know that i'll see this view again. But with this pandemic, even looking out the window from one's seat in airplane has become such a luxury. I appreciate what i've seen and the blessing Allah has bestowed upon me more than ever. No picture was taken bcs obviously a. I was in a flight, b. I tried to capture it in my brain and hopefully whenever i miss flying, i'll just close my eyes and remember that very blissful moment😆
Touched Down!!!!
Allahu akbar! No words can describe my feelings. Hello Home!!!! Custom clearance was easy breezy. But yknow whats funny, after i got my luggage, i couldnt find the main exit door LOL! The KKIA have reroute the exit! Hahaha thats an evidence that i've been away too long😅
That evening, we went for iftar at my grandmother's house. I hugged my nenek so tight and was feeling grateful that i get to see her again alhamdulliah.
And i met my aunt after her surgery for the first time. Allah when i hugged her, i cant help but to want to cry but i hold it in because i dont want her to be sad. I can see her eyes got watery too but i quickly brush it off by making my lame jokes haha
But yes, with hardships come ease. I have the privilage of going home with my aunt's hospital letter. Passed all the checks because of it. But i was coming home with a huge amount of emotional baggage and sad reality. Cried quietly in the sight of my aunt. Whos now lost the ability to walk. Allah. How crazy it is that when i last left my family in october, everyone was healthy. Kept telling myself its harder on them and it could have been worst but Allah still shows His mercy to me and my family. Alhamdulillah. Wish i'm home more often to ease their burden. May Allah grant my mom and dad the strength to take care of my aunt and my nenek and may Allah reward them abundantly in this world and the hereafter aaminnn.
So im gonna document my holiday at home, so i wont forget every single feeling during this trip.
Till next update, annyeong!😘
