In case anyone forgot, Sentinel was Zeta's apprentice! I made a little tweak to Sentinel pre-Primacy design. Thought it'd make more sense that he just had normal jet wings.

Okay, but like, what if the Primes can't actually die? They just pull an avatar and are reborn via the Matrix and whoever is carrying it. Poor Optimus not only died, lost his BFF, became God's favorite, and watched the beginnings of a war take root, but is now a father of thirteen.

I’d like to think that in this AU Sentinel was an aid/advisor first then maybe he becomes an apprentice to Zeta, I don’t know whichever one comes first

I’m just imagining Sentinel having most of the Primes co-mentoring him, on top of still being an aid/advisor (probably) It’s frustrating and tiring being dragged and passed around however there’s perks to it.

Most of the Primes are fond of him and like having him around, whether it’s a personal or professional preference. With that in mind, he can hypothetically get away with a lot of things and position wise he’s second under the Primes. As a someone that works closely with them he like their shared firstborn son.

Chances are he would be more likely to become a Prime if by his merits in the battlefield and in the political & social sphere as he’s savvy that way. He’d oversee the apprentices like an older brother looking after the younger ones, doing it as an obligation and also having growing interest in what they have to show for their potential as a “Prime.” Who knows, there doesn’t have to be just one Prime.

Anyways, I really like this AU you cooked up; it’s been an interesting find after the watching the movie cause that movie put me back in my TF hole indefinitely. Thank you and welcome to TF.

I like the idea that Sentinel was a apprentice considering he's not among the Thirteen

At the time of the story he's already a Prime with his own students (though he's not good at the whole mentor thing). I think he harbors disdain of not being among the originals and people don't take him as seriously, hence his need to overcompensate

I don't think the Primes are particularly fond of him, just Zeta. Some are on okay term with him, some completely ignore him

A messy little comic featuring Zeta's first ever interaction with his fellow Primes.

Before his fall, Prima was quite the formidable fighter and leader. He led his fellow Primes for an undisclosed length of time and was, for all intents and purposes, viewed as infallible. Zeta looked up to him as a father figure more than anyone else. But after Prima fell and Zeta took the Matrix, things changed. He was never able to look at his guardian the same way after raising him time and time again as Prima's deaths started to stack up.

baby OP has a favorite and is not afraid to let everyone know about it. prima thinks he just likes that zeta lets him chew on the matrix sometimes. solus thinks prima's just salty he's not the favorite :/

and zeta is carefully neutral on the discussion but privately he wonders if maybe prima is onto something. if maybe primus has let their baby brother in on a secret he hasn't told the rest of them yet.

he supposes time will tell.
