official title: the darkest fairytale (named after a line from Gabrielle Aplin's song Salvation)

the premise:

AU contains a mix of magical and non magical beings who coexist peacefully. Parents don’t have to be magical to produce a magical child. No schools like Hogwarts but it is the responsibility of the parents to teach or provide a mentor. 

Witch!Eddie: born to magical parents. Learns most of what he knows from Abuela because his parents are too busy being... well, Them. Marries Shannon when she conceives Christopher. Pretty much canon except magical. 

The Wars are a period of fighting between the magical and non magical. Eddie doesn’t like using his magic after he comes home. 

Christopher: magic but his abilities don’t present when he’s younger. Eddie tries to teach him but it’s not as effective as he thinks it should be at first (he’s wrong of course. It’s more to do with Shannon being gone)

Buck: Born to non-magical parents. Maddie and Buck both have magic but Daniel didn’t. Maddie was forbidden from telling Buck about his magical abilities. He figures out he has them by accident when he gets upset and transforms into a cat one day as a teenager after Maddie announces she's leaving with Doug.

The time period is somewhat ambiguous. It's somehow modern and not, and the story itself has tried to convince me it should lean into the Fantasy genre. We'll see.

A snippet (occurs just before teenage Eddie and Evan meet for the first time):

Evan is- well, he’s a lot of things right now. Scared. Confused. Pissed off. Cornered. Not human. Maddie isn’t around, having moved to Boston six weeks ago, and their parents are worse than ever. If that wasn’t all bad enough, he’s stuck as a goddamn cat.  It’s not the first time, but the whole transitioning phenomenon is still new enough that he hasn’t figured out the trigger – or how to turn back. The first change was about four months ago, right around the time Maddie said she was moving away with… well, with him.  One moment he was himself, a thirteen year old boy, angrily pacing back and forth, repeatedly listening to Welcome to My Life on his Discman. The next, his headphones were in a heap with the CD player and his clothes. The music became overwhelmingly loud and he assumed the volume got bumped when it fell. Until he saw himself in the mirror and realized the reason was because he didn’t have ordinary hearing anymore. Because he had four legs, paws, black fur and a tail.   The dark coloring is helpful for hiding, the way he spends most of his time until he changes back. Staying tucked away is his most useful asset because otherwise all he can do is helplessly meow or hiss. No surprise that apparently not a single soul can understand him. And, at the moment, that’s a big fucking problem.

Okay, Lemon is getting …a little zesty this week!! 🍋 Tell me what you think.

Back at the loft Carlos crowds TK up against the wall inside the elevator, kissing him passionately while TK’s fingers curl in the gaps between the buttons of his shirt. He deepens the kiss by licking into TK’s mouth, savoring the taste while their tongues caress each other, lips moving together in a symphony of desire as Carlos runs his hands down TK’s sides, finding purchase on his perfect ass.

“Mmm baby, what was that for?” TK asks when the elevator dings and Carlos backs up.

“You taste good.”

“I taste like flan,” TK jokes as Carlos pulls him out of the elevator and down the hall.

“I didn’t get any flan because you ate it all,” he says, voice laced with feigned admonishment, while he unlocks the door and ushers TK through it.

“Not true!”

“Uh huh.”

“I want a lawyer, this is an unfair accusation!” TK cries, silver eyes dancing with mirth under the soft light of the living room’s floor lamps. He’s got a dopey lovesick smile on his face and he walks backwards towards the bedroom, pulling Carlos by the hand. Carlos follows easily, dipping his face into the crook of TK’s neck when he gets close enough.

Once they’re up against the bed he pulls his lips away from TK’s neck so he can cup his head in his hands and say, “Thank you for being so sweet with my family.”

He pulls TK’s shirt off over his head and makes quick work of his pants and underwear while TK replies softly, “You don’t have to thank me for that, baby. You know I love your family.”

“They love you too,” he pushes TK down on the bed and climbs over him, straddling his legs. “You’re a bonafide Reyes now.”

TK hums and begins unbuttoning Carlos’s shirt, “I think that was established when they threw that blow out party for my birthday a couple weeks ago.”

“Before that,” he says, complying when TK pushes him back so he can get his pants off.

Once he’s fully naked he crowds back over TK, who’s gone completely soft at Carlos’s words, and begins to kiss his neck again. “You’ve been my family for a long time now, baby. They all saw how special you are the first day I brought you around.”

“Carlos,” he breathes his name softly. It falls from his lips devoutly, like a prayer. TK places both of his hands on either side of Carlos’s head and pulls him up so their faces are inches apart. “Baby. I love you.”

I will get back into my wips this week, but for now this is from Como Te Quiero Yo (how I love you) Lemon is getting a little zesty 🍋🙈

TK loves it about him. He pretends to find it annoying, having to wait for Carlos to make sure everything is just right. But it’s another way Carlos provides for him like nobody else ever has. Nobody has ever put his needs first, has cared enough to make sure he’s well taken care of, that he’s not going to be inadvertently hurt. It’s sweet and it’s sexy and it drives TK absolutely wild.

“I’m ready, baby,” TK purrs into Carlos’s ear, biting it softly and pulling back so his teeth drag across the lobe. Carlos moans and turns his head to capture TK’s lips in a messy kiss. He moves his fingers and finds the sweet spot deep inside, applies enough pressure and begins to tease him over and over. “Carlos,” TK pulls back from the kiss, his mouth falling open around a panting whimper, “baby that feels so good. You feel so good.”

Hi Zesty!!!!! Thank you for your patience while my beans rallied and helped me make some words for you. Eddie's having a *moment*, but never fear, he has some very fun things to look forward to.

His gaze travels up, up, up to an equally brilliant blue, paired with plush pink and berry red.  Arsen quirks an eyebrow, a clear invitation to whatever Eddie might want to ask for. It’s simple yet heady and overwhelming, his brain swimming with images that he’s kept locked in a mental box for exactly this reason. Because he wants everything, he wants nothing. He doesn’t know what he wants or is even supposed to, only that he does. Desire and shame curl around him in equal measure, flashes of heat for very different reasons, wrapping around his wrists and ankles, binding him to his chair like ropes. “Hey.” Arsen’s voice is surprisingly gentle, coaxing Eddie from his internal spiral. “It wasn’t- I didn’t mean to- what I’m trying to say is you’re allowed to say ‘no’. No hard feelings.” Arsen smiles, easy as anything. “I’ll move along and maybe catch you another time.” As Arsen winks before moving through the crowd, to someone who is no doubt eager and open, something inside Eddie screams. A wretched, disappointed thing that balks at his own self sabotaging freeze response. That he let Arsen believe he wasn’t interested, or ready, remaining mute instead of saying ‘stay’. Or anything at all. Eddie pulls his bottom lip between his teeth, biting down to make sure he can still feel anything at all, grateful for the abrupt sting that tells him he can. He squeezes his eyes shut tight, determined to silence the judgments in his head.

It was never meant to be like this. They were supposed to have more time. Eddie doesn’t care that he told Chim tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone. It was supposed to be different for them.

Eddie said I love you and Buck said it back. He said he loves Eddie, too. There were tears and kisses and promises for the future. There’s a ring, that Eddie bought after their first date, sitting in a drawer. He’s got all of that. But he doesn’t have Buck. Because, as it turns out, lightning does strike twice. And ‘do more’ only gets you so much.

Alternatively:

Buck has tried. He has tried so damn hard. He’s gone through therapy and sat patiently, just waiting for his turn to be happy. But he can’t anymore. Not here. Not when Eddie grabbed him by the collar at Maddie and Chim’s wedding and kissed him like he was being paid for it. Like Buck was the thing he’d been waiting for, too.

Not when Eddie avoids Buck like the plague for days and backs down. Says it was all a mistake and he’s back together with Marisol and she’s moving in with him.

Nope. Buck’s got a full tank of gas and a transfer request with his name on it. He told Bobby to find him one as far away as possible. Buck loves the family he’s built, but this is too much.

He turns the key in the ignition and drives. He doesn’t look in the rear view mirror as he thinks ‘fuck love and fuck Eddie Diaz’.

🦖 favorite extinct animal

I don’t have a lot of knowledge on extinct animals so i went searching for some. Turns out there was a Madagascar Pygmy Hippo! They weren’t really aquatic but supposedly more of a forest dweller. They were approximately 6.5’ long, 2+’ high and about 550 pounds.

💎 what’s your most prized possession?

A wooden toy chest I’ve had since I was a baby. It’s sky blue and has my name painted on the top, every letter is a different color. My Pop Pop (who was an excellent woodworker as a hobby) made it for me when I was born.
