Did myself a little badge for CFz. What you're seeing is the front and back design. Scifer on one side and one of his alternate selves, Zephyr, on the other. The theme is alternate universes and comic books, so I thought I'd make something pulpy and sci-fi just for fun :)

They're done! I really want to try and make prints again as it's been years and I've never felt like I was very good at making whole posters. Dipping my toe back in with these silly chibis of each Papa with every Ghoul they've had. Perhaps they can also work as a guide for those wanting to learn all the characters? I added in a fair amount of little references with the Ghoul's poses so it'll be interesting to see what you guys figure out and notice!
The prints are on pre-order and won't ship out until November. I've put up 25 of each to start with but if they get low on stock I'll keep adding more until I have them printed and then it'll be a set amount in stock.
Also a reminder about the stickers of every Ghost Papa and Ghoul that I made earlier this year that are also available as customisable badges! Thank you so much to everyone who already bought them and got Etsy to list them as a 'bestseller' for a while. They're still up and in stock.
EDIT: someone informed me Delta was not in Secondo's era so sorry little water ghoul but he got edited out of that drawing.
Characters featured on the prints and are also available on stickers and badges: Papa Emeritus I / Primo, Papa Emeritus II / Secondo, Papa Emerirus III / Terzo, Papa Emeritus IV / Cardinal Copia, Aether, Air, Alpha / Fire, Aurora, Chain / Water, Cirrus, Cowbell, Cumulus, Delta, Dewdrop / Sodo, Earth, Ifrit, Ivy, Lake, Mist, Mountain, Omega / Quintessence, Pebble, Phantom, Phil / Special Ghoul, Rain, Sunshine, Swiss, Zephy.
I can’t link to my Etsy without risking Tumblr hiding the post from tag search results, but the link is in my pinned post, my carrd, I’m emptymasks on Etsy. Reblogs help support artists more than likes ❤️
[ID: Four landscape drawings, one for each of Ghost's Papas and the Ghouls that were in the band with them while they were the lead singer. Each Papa is in the center with each of their ghouls standings to their sides. Every character has their name written above or below them, on brightly coloured backgrounds for each Papa's robe colour. Also, individual pixel art chibi drawings of 69 characters from various European musicals (listed above) that are available as stickers. These drawings are also available as badges where they are placed inside circles to show what they will look like as physical button badges, some of them with plain colour backgrounds and some with 1-3 different pride flags as examples of how you can customise the backgrounds.]
For those who want to know what the little references in the prints are and don't want to guess, they're under the cut:
Omega can be a stompy boy when he's playing guitar, Alpha likes to throw up peace signs, Air is very found of the rock horns hand symbol, there's one close-up photo of Lake out there where you can clearly see his black sclera contacts and he's doing double 'horns' hand symbol, Mountain infamously takes his shoes off when playing the drums and leaves them on the stage at the site of his drumkit, Dewdrop likes to like.. most things including his guitar and his picks and sometimes his own hand, Pebble liked to hand out his drumsticks at the end of shows by dropkicking them into the crowd, Omega wore a flower tucked into his guitar strap during one show and Terzo constantly flirts with him more than other ghouls, Delta is suspected to be the ghoul that attempted to kick an audience member off stage when they climbed onstage and attempted to kiss Terzo, Zephyr was the only band member and only keyboardist who sat down while playing, the special ghoul played by Tobias wore a nametag 'Phil' in an interview, Swiss constantly is showing all his teethies with his smiles and always wiggling and moving around, Aether and Dewdrop often interact with Dew teasing/bothering Aether, Dew and Rain also often interact with Dew constantly reaching to grab his neck and attempt to kiss him, aaaand I think that's everything I intentionally included other than just generally tried to get the poses and expressions to match the personality we've seen from each ghoul.

Some quick impressions of translations of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
I fell in love with Marie Borroff's translation just from reading the preface, which is very insightful (definitely do read it, whatever other translation you pick!) and also unusually useful for the reader. We don't crucially need a translator's thoughts about what the themes of a story are because we can read it ourselves first, but Borroff talks about the tone (elevated, ironic, playful?) and that is really useful, since it is so easily obscured by time and translation.
Borroff's biography is extremely impressive: before even starting the translation, she spent a decade of her professional life reconstructing the pronunciation and meter of each line and the provenance of each word. Unsurprisingly, the translation is excellent; by the usual standards (accuracy, fluency, transparency/"invisibility") it seems hard to improve on.
Simon Armitage's translation seems to consciously reject fluency and transparency, creating "choppiness" as a deliberate aesthetic effect. Consider for example the use of modern colloquial English here:
and in the other hand held the mother of all axes, a cruel piece of kit I kid you not: the head was an ell in length at least and forged in green steel with a gilt finish
"Piece of kit" and "I kid you not" date the translation to the last few decades, while the "ell" unit has not been used for 400 years. By dragging the reader back and forth in time like this, the translation draws attention to itself. But it is not only a matter of choice of words, we get a similar effect from the ways Armitage breaks up or enjambs lines:
Gawain […] so bore that badge on both his shawl and shield alike. A prince who talked the truth. A notable. A knight.
This was a single sentence in the original, which got "chopped up" into four, including a full stop in the middle of a line.
George B. Pace's translation is the subject of a very charming story somebody posted on tumblr. It is abridged (12k words, versus 21k in the original), and translated into modern-sounding English prose, but if you are interested in the plot rather than the poetic devices it seems like a reasonable approach. I mostly didn't miss the parts he cut, although I do wonder about his focus when he e.g. omits lines of dialogue between Gawain and the Lady but leaves in the decorative filler about the zephyr warming the lands.
I have no particular thought about Burton Raffel's translation, except for one interesting pitfall. He translates most of the poem into prose (although it is kept divided in lines), but the four rhyming lines at the end of the stanzas are translated more loosely in order to make them rhyme. In theory this makes sense: for a modern reader the rhymes and iambs are very salient while we are not very attuned to alliterative verse, so translating just the bob-and-wheel into verse preserves most of the poetic effect.
But in practice it doesn't work so well. First, Raffel just isn't that good at it: Borroff and Tolkien manage to make their translations rhyme while sticking closer to the sense. But more interestingly, the rhyming couplets obviously draw the attention of the reader, and the author uses them to highlight the most load-bearing words, which are often chosen to be nicely ambiguous. The tale is written in 'lel' letters, which could mean that it's true, or only that it is composed in valid alliterative verse. King Arthur waits 'stif'ly to hear a tale or see a wonder, which (says Borroff) could be a heroic "resolute" or an ironic "stubborn". The lady enters Gawain's chamber and banteringly offers him 'my cors', which could mean "myself" but of course literally means body. And what were they doing to that deer? Actually these lines are the parts where you need to be most careful about the meaning.
J.R.R. Tolkien's translation is interesting because he seems to try something different. While Borroff and Armitage try to approximate the effect the poem would have on a 15th century reader by translating into current English, Tolkien uses archaic syntax ("him" for "himself", "we come not" for "we don't come" etc) and archaic vocabulary (the book includes a glossary, which you need to use to understand the translation at all). I think the idea is to capture what it is like for a modern reader who knows Middle English to read the Middle English original, with the particular pleasures of puzzling through a text as a non-native speaker.
Reading this (and even more his translation of Pearl in the same volume) I was surprised by how skilled Tolkien was at verse—he carries over a lot of the formal aspects, and I think his version sounds the best.

closed starter for @tobias-the-legend
Zephyr sat outside of the Pokemon League, swinging his feet as he waited for someone to show up. Wyatt had just left for... whatever it is he was doing. Nat protested immensely, but their words fell on deaf ears. Zeph decided that Wyatt would probably be fine. He was wrong, but that's another story.
Zeph, instead, was waiting for Tobias and his roommate to show up. Mostly the former. But Jackie would be nice to meet too.
Oh, there they were now! Zeph waved excitedly, offering a high-five to Toby as they approached.
"It's nice to meet you in person!" he said. "Here, c'mon inside, both of you. Normally you'd need eight badges, but I can make an exception, haha." He beamed.

for the speak now prompts,
The team or philindaisy to Long Live 👀
you got it love. made myself tear up a bit ngl 🫶
~~~~
Long Live
They said remember this moment.
Daisy’s hands shook as she took a seat on her bunk. Next to her sat a box of memories — disposable camera photos from throughout the years, her very first badge, letters from Jemma, May, and Coulson. The few trinkets that she saved when all went to hell (she couldn’t quite remember which ones came from between which disasters, though). A mixtape CD from Jemma titled ‘Space Jams’.
She smiled, sorting through the box. There wasn’t any one thing she was looking for, not really. What she was searching for, she wouldn’t find in the box.
You held your head like a hero.
Newspaper clippings surrounded her, scattered around the floor like confetti. The pictures were clipped to the wall with string and clothespins — Coulson posing with his Captain America baseball cap and May making her ‘mom’ face; Daisy and Jemma napping on the floor after a mission; Hunter standing on Bobbi’s shoulders and Daisy on Mack’s, racing to screw in lightbulbs on a maintenance day; Daisy, Fitz, and Jemma hanging upside down from their beds during their time on the bus.
She watched the clouds pass by the window, stretching farther than she could fathom. The sky was dusted with stars. She could almost pick out the distorted shapes of her own constellations, even as they stretched further and further out of familiarity. May used to watch the stars while flying. She could remember the first time May let her sit with her in the cockpit.
Long live the walls we crashed through.
Daisy flopped onto her bed, exhausted. It had taken two showers to get all the alien goo out of her hair, and Kora was still working on washing the dust from their suits. Daniel had run comms for this one.
The strange, adrenaline rush she got during a fight had faded, leaving her limbs feeling like jelly and her mind filled with static. Daisy glanced at her nightstand. There was a picture of the team, posing in the lab at the Playground. May and Coulson’s arms were around her. She missed her family.
There was a time when she lived in a van with her computers, a hot plate and a hula girl. She held the small figurine, watching her wobble as the Zephyr 3 took off. She used to tell herself that she liked being alone, but now she felt like she couldn’t bear to be without them. She had spent so much time in her room at first, avoiding the rest of them. They opened up the door. They crashed into her life and she crashed into theirs and, for some reason, she felt like she should have known they would never be the same.
Please take a moment, promise me this.
It was part of her job to be silent. To stay hidden. To protect from the shadows. She wouldn’t trade it for anything.
But she did hate how difficult it was to get in touch.
Kora tapped her shoulder from her place in the co-pilot’s seat. "It’s almost time."
Daisy nodded and swallowed hard. Daniel squeezed her shoulder and took her place in the cockpit. She made her way back to her bunk, pressing the cool metal device to her temple and watching the scene materialize in front of her.
"Seems we’re early."
Daisy smiled, wishing she could get up and knock May over with the tightest hug in any timeline.
"Seems so."
"Starting the party without me?" Coulson appeared.
"It’s not a party if you aren’t here," She grinned. "I know we’re supposed to wait for everyone else, but how are you? Tell me everything."
May shrugged at Coulson in a gesture of ‘I’m not going first.’
"Things are good. I’ve got a flying car. Costa Rica is beautiful," He summarised. "I miss my kid."
Daisy felt tears well up. Damn it, she was not going to cry this early.
"Send me a postcard," She joked. "What about you, May?"
"Students are exhausting. I hate grading papers," She grumbled. "The coffee isn’t as good as the kind you used to buy."
"C’mon, there’s nothing good going on?" Coulson asked.
May gave Coulson a hard stare. "I’m not in space. Or a computed reality."
He chuckled. "At least there’s that."
The others came in soon enough, and the room seemed to shift. They were all good. They all promised they’d do this again soon. Daisy and Coulson were the last ones, after everyone else left.
"[insert their dialogue from finale],"
"I hate that this is all we get," She whispered. "We beat fate before."
Coulson went to grab her hand, then paused. They both knew she wouldn’t feel anything.
"I think," He said carefully, "We won’t ever really say goodbye. We’ve fought too hard together to be forced apart."
Daisy nodded. "Hey, AC…" She trailed off.
"Yeah?"
"I need you to know that you gave me everything. A home. I had the time of my life with our team," She let out a shaky breath. "I won’t let anyone forget you, even if you decide it’s time," Daisy choked out. "You’re family."
Coulson smiled sadly. "Stay safe out there."
She disconnected, the empty room replaced by the cluttered walls of her bunk. Her books, photos, letters all stared warmly back at her.
"They’re good," She murmured. "We’re good."
We will be remembered.
{GREY COURTIAN INFO DUMP}
Lord: Fiddellier, The Ironformed
Region: Valierne
Soul Servant: Sliverknight, Hischbael
Current Court Master: Artephin Giel
Current Royal Mage: Stetsire Hignguard
Magich theme: Metal
Symbols: Swords, Military, Armour, shields, Hawks, knights, marble statues
Colours allowed to be worn: (grey must be worn) Black, Golds, Any shade of Grey, brown, white, cream
Rank: High Court
Attire: Military Suits, Military Hats, belts, holsters, badges, long dramatic coats, oversized collars, small pieces of armour, epaulettes, shorter tied up hairstyles, gloves, tends to hold swords even in informal situations, Heavily Regency Era inspired, Tends to be very orderly and very well tailored. Uniforms are commonly worn in casual situations.
Physical appearance: grey, blond, white and black hair, pale skin (even duller) , must have grey eyes (can be different shades), taller average height than other courts (except pale), Usually has muscular statuesque physique, broad shoulders.
Common jobs: infantry, generals, Cavalry (police) tacticians, blacksmiths, tinkerers, mechanics
The Grey Court is the third of the High Courts, ruled by The Grey Lord, a steadfast stoic god of the art of weaponry and armoury. silvery blond hair flows like a cape behind him, face shielded by a iron mask, cold. Unfeeling in appearance. He is oppressive in look from his large frame, covered with an overwhelming cape, to his large hands covered by hefty leather gloves. He is never seen acting too brash, nor expressive. He is a foundation of stoic unmoving strength, a figure of grounded pride and loyalty, sword in hand, eye on the fight to be had, determined. Some have whispered that he isn’t just a statue behind closed cathedral doors. He has been rumoured to be rather outburst-prone and rage filled. His calm stoicism flipped on the dime to a fiery, passionate wail of anger. But this could just be apocryphal. His people hold this ideal of emotionless stoicism to high regard, their lord being the figurehead of said ideology. There is no place for such a rumour of emotional for him nor his people. This, in turn, is their biggest flaw. Idealizing this uncanny image of their people being unfeeling, zephyrs of Justice and order, thinking that their emotion muddies their judgment, causes their foundation to crack
in many places due to that repression. But they soldier on despite it. Just like their lord. Despite their uncomfortable cast moulding, they are reliable people. Tough. Strong willed, never back down from what they must do. You will be hard pressed to find a grey courtier who would back down from what they promise to do and what they hold most true.
This stubbornness does aid their strong, almost divine military. They are the bastion of Militial exports and ideology in phangoria. It is an unspoken truth that all other courts look to the Grey lord and his court for guidance and order when it comes to any war or military issues. There is an almost religious, artful way that they treat the idea of battle and war. The sword is not just a weapon it is an extension of the self. A partner to dance with. It is obvious when you see the beautiful way their sword spells are casted. It truly is art. Armoury IS their culture. Grey courtiers often get passes to bring swords into places other courtiers cannot, wear pieces of heavy armour despite having no purpose and in dance, their moves are as if to mimic drills.
The Grey and Navy Court often share seats when it’s comes to their military. One of the land. One of the ocean. Their ideals and economy definetly bleed into eachother at times and their lords are particularly fraternal in nature from an outside perspective. Much of their inflow of wealth comes from sharing their infantry with other courts. Generals being posted to other courts, infantry sectors being hired for specific jobs, so on so forth.
They do not only use their magich and influence for military. They are the biggest exporters and manufacturers of mechanical production and engineering. Factories, functioning machinery, new technology for the courts mainly come from the Grey court, another high valued asset that funnels wealth into the Grey courtian Pocket. The Haugiel steam train wouldn’t function nor exist if not for the Grey court, their spells and mechanical exports creating the thing that allows phangorians to fast travel at all. Even simple little metal parts like doorknobs, hinges, tools and cutlery can be often exported from the Grey court.
Region: Valierne (vah-leer-nn) is known for their sharp, cloud piercing mountain ranges. Cold, striking and grim landscapes that reach for the heavens. Pine trees and snow cover the landscapes, never a truly sunny day. It is often cloudy with a grey look to the world. But don’t let that fool you that their cities are sad and cold. Rather the opposite. Warm, bustling towns filled with hearth ovens and warmly lit streets. The cities are often built around and inside the mountains, incorporating the terrain to mend into their cities. Not many cities are built on flat, plane grounds. Their architecture could be said to be rather Nordic in look. A mix of Victorian gothic and old Nordic. Deep dark woods with logs as pillars. They are immensely imposing but warm on the inside
"…For pity's sake! My dad's cherished bird Pokémon… But a defeat is a defeat." The blue-haired Gym Leader shook his head, a sigh of resignation following. "Alright, Take this official Pokémon League Badge, the Zephyr Badge. With that Badge..."
The Gym Leader's words quickly became barely audible to the small Pokemon, the loud ringing in his ears still roaring on from the heat of battle. Though his challenge was a basic one, he'd still been pushed to his absolute limits, his tiny form breathing raggedly as a blank-yet-triumphant smile shone through the pain. The battle was hard-earned, the freshly-inflicted wounds from the opponent's Pidgeotto still stinging with every breath the Ralts took.
Luckily, the journey back to the Pokemon Center was uneventful, with his trainer even using a Potion to ensure her partner's safety. The trainer holding her Pokemon close, the duo made their way toward the next destination.
"You did a great job out there, ▇▇▇▇▇!" The girl's voice rang out cheerily, hugging the Pokemon tightly. "I bet you're even gonna evolve soon! You'll make a very pretty Kirlia!"
Evolution? He'd never even considered that, in all his brief time he'd been conscious. To think he could become so much stronger! And prettier, too! He admired the sheer physical prowess and the heroic appearance of Gallade, but he shared the same desire as his trainer to become an elegant Gardevoir, with immense Psychic power to match!
Thinking about the wonderful future they'd have together, he couldn't help but smile.
A new Life & the Beat of Young Hearts - Part 1 (Epilouge to the Pregnancy Troubles Chapters)
The sun was setting over the mountain peaks of New Berk, casting everything in a rich golden light. Astrid was now eight months pregnant and already quite tired from the long months of carrying her third child. With a good book that Hiccup had given her for her thirty-first birthday. It was a beautiful book in a beautiful leather strap with the Deadly Nadder's mark on the cover and filled with everything that reminded Astrid of her wild teenage years on Dragon's Edge up to the time when Zephyr was born. She traced over a heart of cobbled-together onyx and sapphire scales of Stormfly and Toothless that framed a drawing of her engagement necklace and above it was a small note:
Entry 23
Today is the day I can finally give Astrid her engagement gift, I hope she likes it. It's hard to believe that I asked for her to marry me two weeks ago and she actually said YES.
She smiled to herself and thought back to the many adventures she had spent out there with the love of her life and their mutual friends. She felt the baby moving in her stomach. She gently stroked her round belly and felt the little human inside her stirring. “Well, what do you say, my darling, are you as hungry as I am?” She felt a gentle kick against the skin of her stomach and she smiled. “I’ll take that as a yes.” She clumsily pushed herself up from the sofa and walked towards the kitchen. “Let’s see if we can help your daddy prepare dinner for your two siblings.” Astrid leaned against the doorframe and watched as her husband served the soup and then took care of cutting four slices of bread. Zephyr and Nuffink sat at the table, which was already set, and painted small dragon figures that they tried out for the badge from the Book of Dragons. Astrid put an arm around Hiccup's shoulders, she immediately saw a smile on his lips as she snuggled up to him. “Can I help you with something?” He stroked her back. “I have everything under control.” Astrid gave him a kiss on the cheek and tickled his beard, making him giggle while she nuzzled him a bit. “It needs some trimming again.” Hiccup smiled. “The few centimeters. But if you really want to? As long as you don't cut it off completely." "Don't worry, you look really sexy with that beard. I just don't want it to look like a possum died on your face." Hiccup could only grin at that. Hiccup took the soup spoon and stirred the freshly seasoned vegetable soup, giving his wife a conspiratorial sideways glance. Astrid walked over to the table and picked up the soup bowls so Hiccup could fill them with the freshly made soup. As she put the soup down, she stroked Hiccup's soft fabric of his tunic and listened to the beating of his strong heart beneath her fingers. Their eyes collided. "I hope everything will be okay," Hiccup whispered to her, his hand resting on her stomach. Astrid sighed: “I hope so too. I'm so tired already." "I know you're tired, Honey. Just hold on for another week, then the baby should come according to your mother." Astrid nodded and she and Hiccup sat down on the table where their children were already waiting impatiently so that they could finally eat. After dinner, the family decided to sit outside for a while every evening and enjoy the beauty of the warm summer night. But thousands of stars glittered above them in the deep black of the night like glistening salt crystals in mines. Zephyr jumped up and down excitedly as a shooting star flashed through the night. “Look Nuff, now we can make a wish for a shooting star!” “Oh, I wish for a shield for the next Snoggeltog,” gasped the little boy. “And what do you want?” Astrid asked curiously and nudged her husband on his biceps. "I'm not allowed to say birthday wish rule." Astrid rolled her eyes with a smile and leaned back. “How long have we been married now? And you don't tell your wife, who you've lusted after since we were little children, what you want." Hiccup laughed and stroked her thigh. “You know I’ll tell you everything. But...if I say it out loud, it usually doesn't come true." "Sure," Astrid said, watching carefully as Hiccup proudly smoothed his beard and looked at her with that conspiratorial look again. “But what if I want my beautiful wife to dance with me now?” He was immediately on his feet and held out his hand to her, of course Astrid couldn’t say no and let him pull her into his arms . "Hiccup, I'm not sure if dancing is right, I feel like a whale." He leaned closer to her, hugging her waist protectively. "And whales can sing beautifully." "Hiccup, darling, I can't sing," she corrected him with raised eyebrows. “Then you’re much more like a killer whale. Strong, intelligent, social and an unpredictable warrior of the ocean." Astrid laughed: "Fishlegs' new hobby of finding out everything about sea mammals must have rubbed off on you a bit." Hiccup sighed. "I'm just glad Snotlout has to listen to most of it now that they're married."
Sequel will follow…again
Sry for doing This again But I Haven’t figured out yet how to make more space in the document.
Waltz of the Snowflakes
[a video, titled "Dekilou gym battle: Challenger Nika "Squid" vs Leader Augie - Jan 26, 2024. Winter field, 4v4"]
After a brief league intro card, the video begins. Some info pops up in the video layout, including current temperature and weather, just above freezing but raining. The camera is focused on a small frozen pond. On either end of the pond is a pontoon platform, frozen in place. Sparsely populated spectator stands can be seen, many people not wanting to be outside in the poor weather.
Squid is on one platform, wearing her cowboy hat and a light winter coat. He's bouncing one leg slightly as a sign of nerves, or if you know them well enough, to focus through the pain of her bad ankle.
The other platform holds Augie, the Dekilou Gym Leader. He looks to be in his early thirties, sporting a dark beard under a cap. He's wearing cargo shorts and a light rain jacket with league branding on it. A fishing rod is mounted to the platform, line dangling into a hole in the ice.
A drone camera flits past, gathering aerial shots and zooming in on Augie. "So you're the one Zephyr was talkin' aboot, eh? Now, I knows it's your first gym battle, but given your experience we'll give 'er a bit more challenge." He smiles.
"Wouldn't have it any other way." Squid replies. Hovering a hand over their first pokéball, the battle begins.
Given analysis of past battles against challengers going for a second or third badge, Squid was betting on his first opponent being Abomasnow. Thus, Shortgrass hit the field, the small fire rodent using its claws for traction on the wet ice.
The temperature dipped as Abomasnow appeared. Rain shifted to sleet and then to snow, giving the ice-type a boost to its defenses and moves.
Squid's strategy is to have the Embrush get in close, hit it with Incinerate, and slide out of its range. This works once, dealing massive damage as an Ice Punch misses Shortgrass, sending out energy that freezes the slush on the court.
Augie laughs, a mischievous glint in his eye. "You're fighting a gym leader here, y' should figure I got something to deal with fire-types." Squid registered this a bit late, yelling for Shortgrass to get farther away as the leader gave his next command. "Channel that failure into a Stomping Tantrum!"
The Abomasnow roars, slamming its arms down on the ice as Shortgrass scampers away. A wave of energy pulses out through the ice sheet, causing water to spray upwards as it cracked. The little fire-type squeaks as she gets hit by the move and sent flying. "Shortgrass!" Squid cries, as the Embrush lands unconscious nearby.
They recall her to her pokéball. "You did good, bud. Take a rest."
Taking a moment to think of a new plan and regain her balance on the now floating platform, Squid sends out Humus. The Skiddo hops across the ice flows, able to deftly pick safe landings. "Humus, Take Down!"
Leaping across the battle court, the grass-type cloaked itself in energy before hitting Abomasnow. The large pokémon was pushed backwards, tipping the iceberg up out of the water. Humus managed to get a foothold, but fell over when the ice hit the water again. A Powder Snow struck while he was getting back to his hooves.
Humus stood, shaking from the ice attack and cold water soaking his fur. One more Take Down finishes off the Abomasnow, but Squid is getting worried. It took almost two of her pokémon to remove the first opponent.
Augie sent out Avalugg next, the large pokémon shoving ice out of the way to land in the water. "Alrighty then! Charge ahead and use Ice Fang!" Barreling forward, the Avalugg readies its jaws to clamp down on the goat pokémon.
"Jump onto its back with Bulldoze!" Humus leaps up as the ice turtle snaps at where he was. Dropping back down, energy pulses out from his hooves, directly into the icy shell. Cracks spread out across its back and Humus hops to a nearby ice flow, wincing as the Frostbite continues to damage him.
The Avalugg swings around roaring, readying another Ice Fang. "Give it your all! Take Down!"
Humus' horns met Avalugg's jaws, both imparting their energy on the other. When the mist settles, both pokémon are completely worn out. Their trainers recall them. At this point the weather returns to rain.
"Uffda, that was powerful! Let's see how you deal with this though." He sends out his third pokémon, a Quagsire. It lands in the water, swimming through the path Avalugg made.
"Orpheus! Your turn!" The Procezant takes to the sky, circling the pond.
"That's the pokémon Zephyr told me aboot then? Good. Quagsire, use Chilling Water!" The salamander ducked underwater, drawing in frigid pond water and spitting it up at Orpheus.
"Ominous Wind, build up your squad!" Ghostly winds whip across the water, kicking up the waves and making Squid take a wider stance for balance. Several Spirit Doves form, flying around their leader.
The Quagsire began launching an Avalanche attack up at Orpheus. The chunks of ice fly wildly, aiming for quantity over quality. Two Doves take hits in place of the flock leader, but one does strike true. As they splash back into the water, the surface refreezes from the excess ice energy.
"Air Slash! Take 'em out!" Orpheus swooped low, gathering his troops to launch the attack. This proves enough to take Quagsire out of the fight.
Augie laughs again, grabbing the fishing rod. "Got me down to my ace, eh? But this battle isn't over yet!" He casts it into the pond, the pokéball at the end sending out a rocky fish pokémon. The Sturgeode slid forward into an open section of water, the gems along its stomach scraping the ice.
Now under the ice, it silently repositioned itself as the Procezant tried to pinpoint it from above. "Orpheus, send the spirits in for an Aerial Ace!"
The Spirit Doves dive, phasing through solid ice to try finding their target. Augie nodded to himself. "Interesting... The two of you fight well together. And with the little ghosts too. But let's reel in this battle here. Sturgeode! Rock Blast!"
Crash! Crash! Crash!
Large rocks smash through the ice, seemingly from all around the arena as the Sturgeode kept in motion while attacking. The first dissipates the flock of ghosts and the other two strike Orpheus, who drops from the sky. Calling the bird back to his pokéball, Squid sends out his final pokémon, Remmi. The remoraid dives into one of the holes in the ice, beginning an underwater battle.
The camera switches to a submerged view, dim light filtering through the ice sheet onto the plants and driftwood at the bottom. Sturgeode and Remmi are face to face, circling each other in the water column, listening for their trainers commands.
The battle resumes as Sturgeode uses Psychic to slam Remmi into the ice. A Bullet Seed breaks the bigger fish's concentration, freeing the remoraid who takes to the weeds to hide.
Sturgeode starts glowing as it builds up more psychic energy in its crystals, prepping for a powerful attack when Remmi reappears.
Thunk thunk from Squid's platform.
The aboveground camera catches the flash of orange from Remmi's Fire Blast before it blows apart the ice with steam. The Sturgeode was also thrown into the air, flipping tail over tip.
"Remmi! End this with Aqua Jet!" The remoraid burst from the pond cloaked in water, flying straight up to collide with her opponent.
Both splash back down into the water, but the armored fish is too tired to continue fighting.
"YEAH! Remmi we did it! That was so cool!" Squid celebrates, her pokémon leaping out of the water and into their arms as the video ends.
Hiya!!!!
I’m Nikita, I’m 15 years old and I’m a Senior Camper!
My troupe is on its off season, so I decided to move to Johto for a bit and try on the Gym Challenge!
I’m originally from Sinjoh! Lots of ancient buildings and ruins there. My troupe and I love to visit them from time to time and see what we can discover.
I moved to Johto bc Sinjoh doesn’t really have an established Gym Challenge or a Pokémon League. Most “gyms” are just veteran trainers having some fun with newbies to test their skills, no fancy buildings or badges.
My best bud is Buddy (She’s an Urufuman). We met when I was scouting a forest in winter. She was hurt, so as a good Camper, I nursed her back to health! We’ve been inseparable ever since.
I hope I can earn all my badges, beat the league and become the next champion!
Current Location: Mahogany Town, Johto
Team:
Pelipper (Delibird) Mail and Union Circle are on, everything else is off.
//The person who runs this account is an adult, but Nikita is a child
//In-Character hate mail is allowed, but I will in-character cry if you send any
//The only sentient Pokémon that may interact are those who could reasonably be sentient in-canon, like psychic types, humanoids and some legendaries
//Hello! It’s me! Eddie (he/they)!
You know the gist
