Drew another panel today. I love the fact that Percival calls Zeldris "Uncle Thell" and the relationship that they have so I wanted to draw where they meet again.

Like I will tell y'all right now. The worst older brother should not be up for debate.

It's Meliodas (I wouldn't say Gloxinia but I am confused as to why he didn't use the moon drip on his sister unless he thought she was already dead since her wings where cut off, her legs where cut off, and her eye was cut off)

We could literally argue about this all day but I have the evidence to back up why Meliodas is the WORST older brother on this list. Like I like Meliodas but I not his D rider. Give credit where it's due. Meliodas is the worst older brother on this list and we can argue about this if you guy's want. .

Just to be clear I do understand why Meli did what he did but damn Zeldris was locked away for 3000 years not knowing why all this happened and why his brother betrayed their race.

Lmaooooooooooo this is great, I love it. As horrifying as it is to consider the possibility that just being your own person might be considered treason under the Demon King, it does make for some very funny jokes.

Also thanks to this I am actively coming up with possible ideas for a “Five Times Meliodas Committed Treason and One Time He Didn’t,” which is probably going to turn out angstier than the title would suggest.

So far I’ve got:

A Robin Hood-esque situation where Elizabeth Number ?? is the Robin Hood figure and Meliodas is the sidekick supporting her and her band of merry men rogues in her quest to overthrow the king and save the common folk (featuring Meliodas getting captured and almost hung before Elizabeth saves him, both of them getting captured and actually hung, or both)

Literally Just Dishonored (basically: Meliodas as the bodyguard of an empress and her daughter (Elizabeth); empress gets assassinated, her daughter kidnapped, and Meliodas gets accused of treason and thrown in prison. Eventually he escapes and proceeds to rescue little Elizabeth, bring down the people responsible for everything (thus debatably committing actual treason), and restore Elizabeth to the throne. Or she dies again for some reason.

…She’s probably going to die in most of these, isn’t she.

At least there would be cute platonic Melizabeth feat: baby Elizabeth?)

The story of Diarmuid and Grainne but it’s Meliodas and Elizabeth instead (iirc: Diarmuid was one of the greatest of an ancient Irish king’s warriors, but was too beautiful for his own good, as the king’s fiancée, Grainne, fell in love with him. Diarmuid and Grainne run away for the sake of love and go into hiding, pursued by the rest of the king’s warriors. Grainne gets pregnant only for Diarmuid to die protecting her from a wild boar and also because his friend and leader of the king’s warriors refuses to betray his king by helping Diarmuid). I’m not entirely sure this counts as treason, but like. It could. Also not sure how I feel about Elizabeth getting pregnant prior to her curse getting broken. Or how to avoid this ending in a demon-goddess hybrid baby several centuries too early.

OOH WHAT ABOUT PIRATE MELIZABETH! Okay, so Meliodas is a ship captain turned privateer, tasked by the queen of such and such kingdom with fighting off pirates. Meliodas goes after the most famous one of them all, only to discover it’s Elizabeth! He then betrays the kingdom to join her. This probably also ends in both of them getting executed, just for piracy this time.

…Okay, I’ve actually checked the definition of treason now, and I don’t think the Diarmuid and Grainne idea would count as treason, but the other three probably would.

You know what would be really funny? The Sins/Zeldris/both somehow hearing all these stories about ancient traitors, figuring out that they were all Meliodas/Meliodas+Elizabeth, and just going up to him and going “What the fuck”

Anyway if you have any ideas (that you would be willing to let me use) or thoughts on my ideas, please do let me know! This is fun hehe

Zeldris definitely still looks up to Meliodas since, being the god of war, he's pretty important in the middle of one.

What would Zeldris be the god of exactly though? His commandment in canon is piety, a kind of naive loyalty, which could fit, since he is very loyal to the demon clan. Less his father, but he did want to become the demon king in order to live with Gelda and he also expressed a desire for the demon clan to flourish in the cursed by light movie.

Unique Magic: Ominous Entity

With Ominous Entity, Zara is consumed by demonic energy completely and her powers are unleashed to their fullest potential, as well as her bodies abilities being pushed to their highest limits. Her UM is usually a last resort tactic because when she activates Ominous Entity, she is unable to focus her attacks solely on her targets and once Ominous Entity is deactivated, it takes a severe physical toll on her body, and she must rest for a long duration period.

Backstory

Being the younger sister of Maaike was never what it was cracked up to be. Cold, Violent, Uncaring, Zara was said to be the Executioner of their home, and the black sheep of the family. She was often over looked or treated coldly by their father which hurt her terribly until it started to only make her angry. Using it to push her, Zara made it her mission to become the best to try and finally gain some recognition beside her sister instead of being overshadowed by her. But there are still other sides to Zara than what the others see to her. Besides her rough prickly exterior, she genuinely is curious about the world that her sister escaped to even if she won't admit it. And she wishes to hopefully find that same freedom that Maaike found. Though she's going to go through one hell of a road to get to it.

Piety and Pacifism

Grand Cross mentioned that at some point in the past, Zeldris was in the Commandments at the same time as Meliodas. We already know some examples of people shuffled around in memories thanks to Gowther ( i.e. Meliodas replacing Ludociel in some of Mael’s ), but I believe it's less obvious that at least some of Mael’s memories are based on Zeldris’ own to fill in some gaps.

Given the brief flashback of a young Mael with the Ten Commandments, and we know he was never really there, it stands to reason that this was in fact Zeldris. He didn’t have Piety at the time ( Calmadios had it ), so he likely had Pacifism and served in the Commandments until he took on the role of Executioner.

While Meliodas decided most of the members of his original incarnation of the Commandments, the only one he didn't have the final say on was Zeldris as the Demon King's decision to place both sons in the group superseded his own. Zeldris was only 87 when he was conscripted.

When instated into the Commandments as their leader, given the recent actions of Meliodas, it was only fitting he be granted the Piety. A curse of devotion for the loyal son that remained.
