Tumblr media
Over the course of this year I have developed a bit of a fascination with the fox kids programming, not big enough to do extensive research and watch them all, but enough of an interest to want to do that in the future (but not right now.)
due to the following
A lot of it seems to be lost media
The block failed (even tough I feel like it should've worked)
And most importantly the programming not just because I like some of it, but also a lot of it is in this weird were it feels so distant from the time period it's from but also I don't think it could exist in any other time.

Zazoo U Review
In the Fall of 1990, Fox Kids launched and the first show that aired on the block was Zazoo U. This is a show that I had never seen before doing this blog, due to a lack of interest. However, since I am doing this blog, I might as well check it out. This show was created by Shane DeRolf and was produced by Fox Children's Productions and Film Roman. It has voice actors/actresses like Brian Cummings, Tress MacNeille, Dorian Harewood, Danny Mann, Scott, Bullock, Susan Silo, and Neil Ross. The show is about animals who go to school. The main characters are Boink, a chill and cool guy, Tess, a sweet and optimstic girl, and Griz, a pig who loves to eat. As for my thoughts on the show, I think it's an ok show. At times the show does bore me though. I think it's because at times, the pace is pretty slow and can take time to get going. I also am not a fan of Boink, the one that has a chill voice, as it can be kind of grating. However, sometimes the show can have its entertaining moments and it does have good voice acting (for the most part). While I didn't care for Boink and Tess (I found Tess a little annoying honestly), I did like the Pig character, he was entertaining. I also liked the teacher who is played by Tress MacNeille, she did a very good job and she has a similar voice to the teacher in Animaniacs (another character Tress played). The art style is pretty unique and artsy as well. Overall, I had on ok time with it. Sometimes, I enjoyed it and sometimes the stories were interesting, but other times I was bored. There's some good characters like the teacher, but other characters I wasn't a fan of. However, it is a unique little show. Not something I would watch again, but its a neat little show for what it was, if a little boring. I will give this show a 6/10 for uniqueness and the fact that it can be entertaining and interesting. It was pulled from the lineup after 11 episodes and it was replaced by a show that was already airing on Weekdays during that time.

Welcome
Welcome to my Fox Kids and Kids WB blog. I am going to review every Fox Kids and Kids WB show that appeared on the channel. Even ones that just aired reruns. I am going to do it in chronological order starting with the 1990 season of Fox Kids. I love animation and Fox Kids and Kids WB are a really important part of my life. I didn’t watch them through their run, but my dad did and he introduced me to Animaniacs in 2011, which lead me to other Fox Kids and Kids WB shows, including ones I did watch when I was younger (like Tiny Toons, Bobby’s World, and Pinky and the Brain). I am going to start with Zazoo U in 1990. and work my way up all the way to World of Quest in 2008, since that was the last Kids WB show

(a tad bit more serious) ship thing: steel x seventh (not that serious though xD)
Will Bibi stop with the ship memes DONT THINK SO
{Accepting}
who’s the cuddler: Steel when they want to piss Seventh off
who makes the bed: NOT Steel xD
who wakes up first: Seventh because they have to be on the lookout since Zazoo will often come to shit on their face in the mornings.
who has the weird taste in music: Definitely Seventh. They listen to rap battle songs are u kidding me?
who is more protective: Probably Steel.
who sings in the shower: Steel sometimes to piss Seventh off because their voice is horrible
who cries during movies: No one. Steel laughs at all the tragic stuff honestly.
who spends the most while out shopping: Uhh I don’t know, probably NOT Seventh x’D
who kisses more roughly: No one because Steel thinks kissing is gross and will only do it if they 1. truly fall in love with someone or 2. want to piss of seventh as revenge for something they did
who is more dominate: Both of them? In their own way. I think Steel is a bit more dominate though generally because they really don’t appreciate people trying to push them around. They might let Seventh bully them but it’s only because they’re planning a grand revenge for it
my rating of the ship from 1-10: 20/10 hot dogs

Zazoo x Steel
SHIP BAZAAR 2K17 -this is your chance send THEM IN
{Accepting}
The ship is my: OTP FOR LIFE TBH
I consider this ship’s feelings: Mutual | It’s that feeling when you find an old and grumpy parrot that’s been rejected by the world and you just go like: you know what im gonna keep u my fellow reject :^) | Mixed | Strange | Awkward | Platonic | Sibling-like | One-sided | They don’t really like each other |
I’d consider the relationship: Healthy!!! | Very deep and meaningful tbh | True love right there | Awkward | Abusive | Doesn’t work properly | They’d never get together |
Children: No | Yes | They’d think about it | Zazoo works full time as a fire station mascot he doesn’t have time for family, he’s devoted himself to his career >_>
General Opinion: I love them and I hope Zazoo lives a good many years by Steel’s side and grows old with them and just sleeps with them every night and knows he finally found a forever home where he won’t be abandoned and he can be Steel’s partner in crime too because you know damn right there’s nothing more useful than a parrot that knows how to flick a lighter

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Review
DThe next show on the lineup was based off of a horror movie that was a parody of B-Movies, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Now I have never seen this show before so I went in with an open mind. Let’s go.
This show was developed by Richard Mueller, composed by Haim Saban, Shuki Levy, and John Bello, Executive Produced by John Bello, J. Stephen Peace, and Joe Taritero, Produced by Boyd Kirkland (Season 1) and Richard Trueblood (Season 2), produced by companies Marvel Productions and Fox Children’s Productions, and featured the voices of John Astin, S. Scott Bullock, Cam Clarke, Kath Soucie, and Maurice LaMarche.
The show is about a young boy named Chad and a tomato turned human named Tara and they have to stop Dr. Gangreen and his sidekick  who is trying to rule the world and has a gang of tomatoes.
So what do I think of this show? Well, it’s enjoyable. The mad scientist villain is pretty fun and I like his determination and charm. His gang of tomatoes are also fun to watch and they did keep me entertained. The plots can be fun too. However, I found Chad and Tara to be kind of boring and generic characters. Another problem I have with the show is that I don’t find it to be that memorable honestly. It’s one of those shows that I have fun watching, but it is nowhere near one of my favorite shows.
Even though it’s not a favorite of mine, Killer Tomatoes was a fun time while it lasted. It has it’s own charm, humor, and personality. I’m glad I got to watch this show. I will give it a 6/10
The show aired on Saturday Mornings for the first 2 seasons on Fox Kids before getting pulled from the lineup in September 1992 being replaced by a show being produced by The Jim Henson Company. That might have had to do with the fact that Season 2 was different in that it was animated in a different style, it now had an ongoing storyline, the show being more serious, and changes to Tara’s character that condradicted Season 1 such as the fact that everyone knew Tara was a tomato and that she could move anywhere and talk in her tomato form. The show eventually returned on April 20, 1996 replacing a certain big blue superhero. However, it wasn’t new episodes as it was just reruns. Those reruns lasted for the rest of that season. On September 7, 1996, it was replaced by a second showing of a certain spooky anthology show based on a book series and on September 14, 1996, a certain Marvel show about a group of superheroes returned to the Saturday Morning schedule replacing the show for good. It’s last appearance on Fox Kids was on October 26, 1996 where it aired for that Saturday replacing a certain show about a kid and his bear companion for that day only.
Rankings
1.Bobby’s World (7.5/10)
2.Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (6/10)
3.Zazoo U (6/10)
4.Tom and Jerry Kids (6/10)

Tom and Jerry Kids Review
Continuing the first Saturday lineup for Fox Kids we have Tom and Jerry Kids, which premiered when Tom and Jerry turned 50 years old. Tom and Jerry is a classic and a master of slapstick. I remember enjoying this show years ago, so let’s see how it is. The show was produced by companies Hanna Barbera and Turner Entertainment, composed by Tom Worrall and Gary Lionelli, and featured the voices of Frank Welker, Charlie Adler, Don Messick, and Dick Gautier.
Tom and Jerry Kids was following a trend at the time where popular characters were children. That trend started with Muppet Babies. This show had 3 segments. The episodes would consist of 2 Tom and Jerry Kids cartoons and sandwiched between them would be either a Droopy and Dripple cartoon or a Spike and Tyke cartoon.
First off are the Tom and Jerry Kids cartoons. These cartoons feature Tom and Jerry....as kids. Tom chases Jerry, but gets hurt in the process. Like the original. However, because of censorship, the slapstick is watered down nowhere near as good as the original Tom and Jerry. Still, sometimes there’s good slapstick and they are enjoyable to watch. Overall, these cartoons are fun, but not even close to the Hanna Barbera Tom and Jerry cartoons.
Next is the Droopy and Dripple cartoons. These cartoons revolve around Droopy and Dripple, who go to many locations and there’s a wolf that’s up to no good and always fails. Now, I really enjoy the MGM Droopy cartoons. However, I am not a fan of Droopy in these cartoons. I just don’t think he or Dripple for that matter are likable, funny, or interesting in these cartoons. Now does that mean I don’t like the Droopy and Dripple cartoons? Not entirely. I really enjoy the wolf character. He’s very entertaining and the animation on him is very expressive. I love how crazy he can be. The slapstick in these cartoons are also very enjoyable and well animated too. The slapstick is honestly better in these cartoons than the Tom and Jerry Kids cartoons honestly. Overall, the Droopy and Dripple cartoons are flawed, but the wolf, the animation and the slapstick keeps it afloat.
Finally, we there’s the Spike and Tyke cartoons. These are my least favorite of the 3 segments in this show. These cartoons follow Spike taking care of Tyke and showing him family and life values. I honestly found them kind of boring. It can be funny sometimes, but the cartoons aren’t that interesting honestly. I also don’t find Spike as interesting or funny as he was in the Hanna Barbera Tom and Jerry cartoons.
Overall, Tom and Jerry Kids was an enjoyable series, but it’s not one of Fox Kids’ best shows. The Spike and Tyke cartoons weren’t that interesting and the Tom and Jerry Kids cartoons and Droopy and Dripple cartoons were flawed, despite being enjoyable. I will give the show a 6/10.
The show was aired on Fox Kids’ Saturday Mornings for the first 3 seasons and the first month of the 4th season and was on Weekdays for the 3rd and 4th season. On Saturday Mornings during its 4th season, it was replaced by a spinoff of this show (we will get to it later) and in the beginning of the 5th season of Fox Kids, it was replaced by a show that was on Saturday Mornings previously, but left that part of Fox Kids to join the Weekday portion (again, we will get to it later).
Rankings
1.Bobby’s World: 7.5/10
2.Zazoo U: 6/10
3.Tom and Jerry Kids: 6/10
I am going to take a break. On Sunday (or Monday) though, I will get back to reviewing with the next cartoon, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. A show I have never seen in my life.

Bobby’s World Review
The second show to be on the Fox Kids Network was Bobby’s World. I remember watching this show in the late 2000s and I enjoyed it. My mom even liked it as well. Anyways, now it’s time for the review.
The show is created by Howie Mandel, with the music composed by John Test (1990-1993) and Mark Koval (1993-1998), executive produced by Phil Roman, Lee Mendelson, and Howie Mandel, produced by Mitch Schauer and Gary Conrad, and produced by the companies Film Roman, Alevy Productions, and 20th Century Fox Television. It also has the Voices of people like Howie Mandel, Pamela Segall, Debi Derrberry, Gali Matthius, Frank Welker, Edie McClurg, Gary Owens, Rob Paulsen, and Tino Insana. The show was about a young kid named Bobby Generic (Gen-uh-ric) who has an overactive imagination and tends to blow stuff out of proportion with his mind and also tends to misunderstand stuff. His family included his dad Howie Generic, who is the straight man and is modled upon Howie Mandel, his mom Martha Generic, who speaks with a North Central American English accent and says stuff like Doncha Know, his sister Kelly Generic, who is a sassy teenager and has a valley girl accent and does tend to tease Bobby at times, his brother Derek Generic, a sarcastic kid who likes skateboarding, horror movies, and video games and tends to tease and insult Bobby, and the family dog Roger. There’s also Martha’s sister Aunt Ruth, who is caring and loving towards Bobby, and Martha and Ruth’s brother Uncle Ted, who likes to give Bobby noogies and likes to go on adventures with him.
As for my thoughts on the show, I enjoy it. First off, the theme song is amazing. It’s cheerful, imaginative, and catchy. Seeing Bobby ride his tricycle into different areas is very interesting. It really feels like you are going into the imagination of Bobby and it captures the imagination of the show. The references are also nice. There’s references like Godzilla, The Wizard of Oz, and The Little Mermaid. They tend to be in Bobby’s imagination which is pretty neat. The show also puts me in a good mood and is very pleasant. The characters are also fun. I enjoy Bobby’s positivity and curious nature. He does tend to get nervous about stuff, but learns that things will be fine in the end, which I like. I also enjoy the imaginations that Bobby has. They are very entertaining and interesting to watch and they have very good writing. The imaginations are one of the high points of the show. I like seeing Bobby in different senarios. From being on a game show to being underwater as a fish, the imagination are a lot of fun. I also really like the beginning and endings of each show where the live action Howie Mandel interacts with Bobby. It’s very sweet and I enjoy their interactions and them being good friends. Last but not least, Uncle Ted is amazing. Every time he’s on screen, I smile. The voice acting for him is amazing and he takes Bobby on exciting adventures, as well as having some funny lines. Overall, Bobby’s World was a fun series. Is it one of my favorite Fox Kids shows? No. But I do still like it. It’s not one I come back to often, but it’s still an enjoyable and pleasant show to watch. I will give it a 7.5/10. The show was on Saturday Mornings for its first 4 seasons. Then, it moved to Weekday Mornings for the 5th season, all the way up to the 9th season, where it was replaced by reruns of a Science show that came from PBS. During its 8th season, it aired on Saturday Mornings as well as Weekday Mornings for about 5 months. It was the longest running Fox Kids show....until the fall season of 2001 when a certain pop culture phenomenon of the 90s beat it making it the second longest running Fox Kids show. Next, I will do a review of Tom and Jerry Kids.
So far
1.Bobby’s World (7.5/10)
2.Zazoo U (6/10)
