Ruaidhri Lavellan, unshaded formal wear at Halamshiral because why not. Also, of course, he came in with a fucking dueling sword. I’m 98% sure some asshole asked if his vallaslin was actually blood and if he painted it on every morning and Ruaidhri, also an asshole, absolutely said yes and that it specifically needs to be the blood of shems who have displeased him.

Wanted to do a twist on the regular uniform while it was still recognizable. Really disappointed that the basic Halamshiral uniform wasn’t slightly desaturated and it didn’t even come with coattails. 90% of the ARMOR comes with some variety of coattails but God forbid we put it on the thing that’s supposed to look nice.

I’m a sucker for coattails.

Random fact: The blood condition rh- often results from giving birth to a child with the opposite blood type as the mother and will cause all following pregnancies to fail without medical intervention, and King Henry VIII’s second wife, Anne, was thought to have become rh- after giving birth to her daughter. Also I caused my mother to be rh- so that’s kind of cool. I have A+ blood and she has A- and I think that’s fascinating. (It’s all good, two kids was plenty for her anyway.)

1. What is the favourite item of clothing you own?

I have a black coat that is almost floor length and with a large hood, but still quite thin so I can wear it anytime I feel like looking menacing and mysterious. Other than that, I have a really worn out Dropkick Murphy’s t-shirt that I wear always.

2. Tell me about the first time you watched your favourite movie?

Oh boy I actually have a story for you. Pretext: my whole childhood I loved boats, Navy history, sailing, water, everything maritime. And most importantly: I wanted to be a pirate more than anything. I saw the first pirates of the carribean in theaters with my brother Adam, and I remember so distinctly feeling so excited as the movie started that I felt sick to my stomach. It was a surreal experience, and the following 2 movies were so great because Elizabeth got to be captain and NFUDLSNFJGIHL. The whole journey was so satisfying. I don’t really know how to explain it, but at the time, it really felt like the movies were made for me. I was extatic. Watching the first pirates is one of the few distinct memories I have; and I could probably quote the whole black pearl movie to you. Alas, the latest movies are such a bummer for me; I don’t know if I’ve lost some enthusiasm or if the movies are actually bad. I feel this with most movies, idk. They feel so forced.

3. What was the last book you finished?

Jan-Phillip Sendkers ‘The art of hearing heartbeats’. Meh.

4. What is the next book you want to read?

I’ve been waiting for Tender Morsels to come in at my local library for too long, and last week I decided to just order it. Fingers crossed for monday delivery! @galadrieljones recommended it to me and I read the first chapter online; I was hooked. Everything about it seems appealing, especially the style of the writer, Margo Lanagan. I’ve never read any of her work before.

5. When is your birthday, and what do you want for it this year? (If your birthday has already happened this year, did you get what you had your heart set on?)

10th of January. I share my birthday with my 11 years older brother, Aleksander. I dont really expect anything but the usual; huge family gathering and all that comes with it. And we don’t really do presents for the adults, we do stuff together; taking trips and such. I like it that way. This year it was skiing.

6. If you were given one month and $10,000, where would you travel to? 

I really want to go to the states and visit all my new friends. But I also want to go to Australia and visit my old ones.

7. Cake or pie?

Pie!

8. Name 3 things you think you’re really good at.

1) Adapting

2) gosh I’ve been staring at this for twenty minutes. I really don’t know.

3) it always needs improvement, and I am not scared to learn more, but I do thing my writing is good. At times. Other times, it makes me cry.

11. If you had to dye your hair, what colour would you dye it?

Back in 2012 or something, there was a dye from Maybelline?(actually I’m making that up, I have no idea what brand it was, but it was a big name brand) that had this pink pearlescent dye that would turn my white hair into the inside of a seashell for two weeks. It was still pale, but in the right light it reflected blue/purple. I loved it. I loved it more than life. So of course they cancelled it.

Hogwarts House: I am, and always will be, proud to be a Hufflepuff!

Height: 5′5′ and three quarters! (the three quarters are very important) - about 1.7. metres

Ethnicity: Full Irish on both sides, though I’m informed there’s a Levite great-grandmother on my father’s side somewhere.

Favorite fruit: Raspberries, dragonfruit, apples, grapes.

Favorite season: Winter. The season of my birth! Snow (if I’m lucky), but otherwise lots of sitting inside watching the dreary weather, with a good book and a hot cup of something.
