Now that we're a week away from Neverafter dropping can I just propose my theory that it's an oops ! all warlocks season ?
#neverafter#dimension 20#d20#now here me out#it sounds unrealistic for an intrepid heroes season#however... it just feels right to me idk#but basically rosamund is a warlock druid or sorcerer multiclass#zac's character is a warlock rogue multiclass#ally multiclasses with wizard#emily multiclasses in fighter#lou and murph are bardlocks#half the cast is hexblade#but everyone has a level in warlock for some reason#and what would be my wild guess is that EVERYONE has the same patron#and the goal of the campaign is to escape said patron and the story#it would be a banger campaign methinks#and if it doesn't happen i'll do it myself ig

as the fhjy premiere is upon us, i'm back with another edition of thisisnotthenerd's d20 stats. it's just the updates that are relevant, since relationship tracking is taking so long to do and i got sidetracked by polls for a few months. this will be sorted by the categories i have data for--you can look at the spreadsheet to find data for all d20 seasons. or you can read it on ao3. anyway:
player data:
runtime and episode data:
before the start of junior year, we have spent 88 hours, 40 minutes, and 14 seconds with the bad kids on-screen, including in oneshots. this is about 3 days, 16 hours, 40 minutes, and 14 seconds.
that's 41/221 d20 episodes, 22 of which were battle episodes.
we've spent 125 hours, 37 minutes, and 32 seconds in spyre as a whole, or 5 days, 5 hours, 37 minutes, and 32 seconds.
that's 57/221 d20 episodes, 32 of which were battle episodes.
cast appearances:
brennan at the top of the list, with 19 d20 appearances, 15 of those as a gm/dm.
next is lou, with 11 seasons as a player; 8 intrepid heroes seasons, 3 sidequests.
followed by ally, zac and siobhan, each with 2 different sidequests under their belts
second to last is emily, with 9, with acofaf
and in last is murph, with only 8. if aabria is in 2 of the 2024 d20 seasons, she's in the running to beat him.
seating preferences:
junior year tipped a lot of the intrepid heroes into a distinct preference, simply by setting them on one side of the table.
emily axford: strong left side preference (6/8), most commonly in L1 and L2. paired next to zac 5/8 seasons, and across from murph 5/8 seasons. fig sits in L1.
zac oyama: strong left side preference (6/8), most commonly in L2 and L1. paired next to emily 5/8 seasons, and across from ally 7/8 seasons. gorgug sits in L2.
siobhan thompson: weak left side preference (5/8), most commonly in L3 and R3. paired next to lou 7/8 seasons [doubled across 5/8], and across from emily 3/8 seasons. adaine sits in L3
lou wilson: even split preference, most commonly in R3 and L3. paired next to siobhan 7/8 seasons [doubled across 5/8], and across from murph 2/8 seasons. fabian sits in R3.
ally beardsley: strong right side preference, most commonly in R2 and R1. paired next to murph 6/8 seasons, and across from zac 7/8 seasons. kristen sits in R2.
brian ‘murph’ murphy: strong right side preference (7/8), the strongest of the intrepid heroes, most commonly in R1 and R2. paired next to ally 6/8 seasons, and across from emily 5/8 seasons. riz sits in R1.
character data:
given what the bts's have shown, there might be some changes to these that i'll update during the premiere, but as of now, this is a quick summary of the bad kids' data, including dnd race, class, level, highest stat, feats, and age. you can go through the thisisnotthenerd's d20 stats tag for my previous commentary on this data, or check out the spreadsheet.
i'm putting them at level 9 for now because that's what we left off with, but more than likely they're starting at level 10 or higher. we know about riz's respec, but there may be others that crop up during the season.
fig faeth: tiefling. lore bard 8, hexblade warlock 1. CHA. actor, lucky. 17-18
gorgug thistlespring: half-orc. berserker barbarian 8, artificer 1. STR. orcish aggression/fury. 18
adaine abernant: high elf. divination wizard 9. INT. spell sniper, war caster. 16-17
fabian seacaster: half-elf. battlemaster fighter 6, swords bard 3. DEX. sentinel. 18-19
kristen applebees: variant human. twilight cleric 9. WIS. human determination, inspiring leader. 17-18
riz gukgak: goblin. arcane trickster rogue 9. DEX. healer. 17
all of the bad kids have some magic now--the ladies are all full casters, while fabian is a split multiclass, gorgug is a 1/2 caster multiclass, and riz re-subclassed into a 1/3rd casting progression. still an even split of multiclasses and pure classes, though that may change. riz's re-spec has bumped arcane trickster up to the most common rogue subclass, with 6 arcane trickster characters, 4 of whom sit in R1.
and that's it! all of the intrepid heroes/bad kids data that i have updates for! see you all at the premiere of fantasy high: junior year tomorrow!

RAVENING WAR LIVE BLOG THOUGHTS
I was crying before the epsiode even started bc I was so excited to go back to Calorum
Seeing the epsiode is almost 3 hrs tracks. I was wondering how Matt was going to do with 2 hr episodes compared to CR (I'm not complaining! We only get 6 episodes so I want them as long as possible)
WATER (a reference to Brennan EXU: Calamity)
Aabria is such a good actress (and the editor's use of sounds and visual effects are top tier!)
I thought maybe Than's arm was darker because he got into an accident and it was cooked, but being mixed with Cerisan is cool
We got Norm/Skip'ed again of hot character art and Zac making a silly little guy and I both love & hate it
SIRLEY!!!
Also, some pissing and shittting already! Colton has Limon energy, im happy
(Just now hitting the 30 min part)
Can I just say, I love how fast we met all the characters and Matt putting them into 2 groups
BARD/WARLOCK IM NOT OKAY
Also 5th level to start!!!!
Pickled creamy blueberry
COLIN IS AN AUTOMATIC FAVE (I'm partial to Zac & Dairy Islanders, I had no choice)
ROGUE BARD these MULTICLASSES - also rogue bard bishop named raphaniel - gives me Ian Prescott vibes and I miss him
6 CON - that's like -2 HP per level (here for a short time not a long time)
1 hr mark
First tears- THE QUEEN 💜 PRINCESS CITRINA 💛💛💛💛💛
Heart of the realm!!!
I want more of Ariana gémelli, I feel like we never had enough Alfredi
GRANDFATHER
Zac is such a good comedian!
BELIZABETH!!! (Please Matt can we have the NPC's interact! Any morsel of Sweet Religion pleaaase)
Matt's doing so well with literally the entire party separated
Y'all this religion talk is all I've ever wanted. Idk why but I love the power dynamics and it really feels like we never got to go into it once Lapin died
"Water does stuff to sugar" BREENNAN
(1 hr 30)
Is Ariana his mother or aunt or love interest? Aabria makes a face at 1:41 and SAME!
ARE THEY RELATED OR NOT!? What is this energy!?
Wait she was a lesbian but it was another Cerisian?
DISGUSTANG SLAM IT DOWN BIG STYLE !?
Lou's "oh fuck" !!!!!
Zac play something other than rogue challenge (I'm kidding!!) but he's doing that 6 charisma so well it's endearing
WAIT LUCAS FONTINA!? ZAAAAAC (i love thé dairy iles)
A carrot finger!? Corn ring? Oh her boss
Everyone is having so much fun being in person, I love this table
Full martial fighter Lou again in Calorum ( I love him playing this character without it being Amethar)
Everyone's face at "good and ambitious boy"
1 why is everyone telepathic 2 why does the queen only have 4 levels (I love it being rogue tho)
POISON
Blue flames- I want Saphria to show!
Honestly the episode could at them getting the letters but now everyone meeting at the pyramid is so funny
(2 hrs)
3 rules lawyer DM's fighting it out on this nat 20 three way is WILD
Matt did an old lady voice- one of them has to be chutney right!?
They didn't roll much this episode & half were natural 20's
I love tomato bullshit! (Everytime the boys said he rules/sucks all I could think is of the avocado boy)

Where is this going now?
I love the queen giving Crown of Candy run from the castle
I love this forceful Than & so ready for more Colin no matter what

here's a thought: fighter and/or barbarian gerard. murph finally combining his two great loves, "weird little guy" and "party tank"
Yes!!! I’m hoping for this as well. I love that Murph exclusively plays Liddle Creechers and Himbos I hope he never changes.
My current class theories for the PCs classes are:
Gerard - Fighter, Banneret/Purple Dragon Knight. Has elements of fighting, royalty related features and a built in animal handling proficiency
Ylfa - Barbarian, either Totem Warrior or path of the Beast & maybe a Ranger multiclass. Both barbarian subclasses have aspects of turning into/channeling animals and of course fighting which plays into the wolf ears the character has
Pinocchio - Rogue, Thief & Warlock, Genie or Archfey. Pinocchio is known for being very mischievous as well as having been brought to life by the blue fairy. The former gives immediate rogue vibes, and the latter makes me think there could be some sort of warlock pact involved. The trailer has Lou saying that his character stole 40 pennies from a witch, which makes me think thief specifically.
Puss in Boots - Cleric, Death OR Rogue, Mastermind. This one is complicated because it really depends on which version of the Puss in Boots story Zac is pulling from. The original story doesn’t frame the cat as a trickster, but instead as someone who is helping to make his owners life better. However the much better known version of the story is the one where Puss in Boots is a rapscallion who causes trouble. This is the one I have the least confidence in. I picked death domain cleric because in the character portrait he has a cane with a skull on it.
Rosamund - Warlock, the Undying &/OR Paladin, Oath of Ancients. I think she will be either a warlock, as the sleeping beauty story (as told by the brothers Grimm) features the princess being put under a protective spell to keep her from dying. The idea for her to be an oath of ancients paladin is purely due to the channel divinity that the subclass has of restraining people with vines.
Timothy Goose - Bard, Lore &/OR Wizard, Scribes. Both of these classes have ties to learning and manipulating information, as mother goose does. I do really hope Ally plays a bard though, because I think it would be fundamentally hilarious.

so for fun just guessing the classes for the new season of d20, using their fairy tale names, not their real names. no multiclassing or subclasses for now
Zac -Puss in Boots- rogue based off the story of puss in boots, but is holding a cane so I’m thinking a spellcaster. maybe a wizard or darker cleric sublclass to fit the genre of the campaign. Fitting the story of making other people great, I could also see him being an artificer, which I don’t think we’ve seen in the dome before and it would fit a tricky character like puss in boots is supposed to be.
ally- Mother goose- based on the book being the only thing we hear ally talk about in their little short, I’m going to say warlock, probably pact of the tome if it’s obvious. I could also see a wizard who has a cursed spellbook with an order of scribes subclass
Murph- Frog Prince- has a sword in his picture, so I’m thinking paladin or fighter, even though Murph has played those classes before in the dome, I think he likes them. Maybe a totem barbarian who got his totems reskinned like Kugrash got his shepherd spirits fitted to new york.
Emily- Red Riding hood- She seems halfshifted or at the very least has wolf ears so I’m thinking bloodhunter, since Matt is a friend of Brennan and some of the other cast members I could see them using his homebrew class. She has an ax which isn’t the biggest hit of anything, but I could also see her playing a cute but psycho barbarian little red riding hood
Lou- Pinocchio- not much to go on, Pinocchio was a naughty child in the original story and the only thing we have to go on is him stealing from a witch so I’m going to say rogue. I also think warlock with a fey patron given the story behind his creation with the blue fairy, though I also feel like that could be any character in a horror fairy tale setting. I wouldn’t put artificer out either, it could be a creation where Gepetto was an artificer and Pinocchio took after him.
Siobhan- sleeping beauty- because she’s the princess and they’re usually associated with beauty as either good or bad, I’m going to guess charisma caster. Like a sorcerer or warlock, both would fit the fucked up fairytale horror genre. Since she’s sleeping beauty though I could also see druid as a twist on the thorns that grew in her sleep.
I’m excited for the new season, even though it sucks we have to wait until november 30th. That’s more than a month away. I know they deserve time time to rest and recharge their batteries, but it feels like it should have been an october game, since at the end of november will lead them to christmas time and beyond which doesn’t really fit the mood.

NADDPod PC Classes as of Most Recent Appearance
The newest player characters, as of Eldermourne 33, got me thinking about the spread of classes and subclasses we've seen across all of NADDPod, so here's the list so far, with statstical analysis under the cut:
BAHUMIA
Hardwon Surefoot (C1): 20 Champion Fighter
Beverly Toegold V: 20 Ancients Paladin
Moonshine Cybin: 19 Spores Druid / 1 Barbarian
Stunkbug: 4 Eldritch Knight Fighter
Tonathan Tinkle: 1 Arcana Cleric / 15 Divination Wizard
Apple Scrumper: 14 Totem Barbarian
Deadeye Cybin: 3 Assassin Rogue / 7 Gunslinger Fighter
Jveliin: 10 Zealot Barbarian
Mavrus Bombora: 14 Draconic Sorcerer
Yugo Boss: 3 Assassin Rogue
Cormac "Mac" Darkstout: 6 Beer Cleric
Davenaxius "Hungry Dave" Gilderfang: 6 Arcane Archer Fighter
Tread Nevers: 6 Lore Bard
Balnor: 20 Purple Dragon Knight Fighter
Solum “Sol” Bufo: 12 Long Death Monk
Calliope Petrichor: 3 Redemption Paladin / 9 Swords Bard
Calder Kildé: 12 Eldritch Knight Fighter
Hardwon Surefoot (C3): 10 Battlemaster Fighter
Frankie Vantasmo: 3 Mastermind Rogue
Penny Vantasmo: 3 Arcane Trickster Rogue
Mavid Vantasmo: 3 Thief Rogue
TRINYVALE
Jens Lyndelle: 16 Swords Bard
Onyx Lumiere: 16 Hexblade Warlock
Nyack of the Rana'For: 16 Hunter (Jampion) Ranger
Wilton the Party Ape: 10 Ancestral Barbarian / 3 Battlemaster Fighter
WINTER SOLSTICE (MIXED BAG ONE-SHOT)
Ulfred Bannebjorn: 6 Moon Druid / 1 Barbarian
Girl: 7 Shadow Monk
Shiloh Creed: 7 Grave Cleric
Jatteson Blix: 7 Rune Knight Fighter
ELDERMOURNE
Fia Boginya: 1 War Cleric / 11 Chronurgy Wizard
Zirk Vervain: 12 Alchemist Artificer
Henry Hogfish: 12 Echo Knight Fighter
Jabari Hightower: 11 Kensei Monk
Tarragon Snakeroot: 6 Dragon Monk / 5 Peace Cleric
Corbeau Babineaux: 11 Mercy Monk
Brimstone Billie: 3 Arcane Trickster Rogue / 7 Battle Smith Artificer
Kragin "Krissy" McDuff: 5 Mastermind Rogue / 5 Battlemaster Fighter
Run-Down Johnny: 10 Soulknife Rogue
The most common class is Fighter, with 10 characters having fighter levels. Rogue takes second with 8. Barbarian, Cleric, and Monk are tied for second, with 5 characters each. There are 3 characters with Bard levels, and Artificer, Druid, Paladin, and Wizard are each represented by 2 characters (interestingly, both druids are multiclassed with barbarian, and both wizards are multiclassed with cleric). The classes with only 1 PC (to date) are Warlock (Onyx), Ranger (Nyack), and Sorcerer (Mavrus).
Going by number of levels, Fighter wins out again, with 96 total levels (only counting Hardwon once), 47 levels of Monk (those Hexbloods), followed by 36 levels of Barbarian, 33 levels of Rogue (the Endo-Friendos + the Vantasmos), 31 levels of Bard (Jens + Tred + Callie), 26 levels of Wizard (late-game Tonathan), 25 levels of Druid, 23 levels of Paladin, 20 levels of Cleric (generally the highest utility multiclass) and 19 levels of Artificer (Zirk+Billie), Warlock and Ranger both have 16 (Onyx=Nyack), with Mavrus' Sorcerer bringing up the rear at 14.
Given the high number of repeat classes, it's interesting to note that there are only five repeated subclasses: Battlemaster, Eldritch Knight, College of Swords, Mastermind, and Assassin (not that Yugo ever used his subclass features).
The player with the most characters is now Jake with 9 followed by Caldwell at 7, Emily at 6, then Murph with 5. Of guests, Nathan Yaffe, Brennan Lee Mulligan, and Siobhan Thompson have each played two characters, while Adam Conover, Zac Oyama, Amir Blumenfeld, and Lou Wilson have played one.
In conclusion, NADDPod is a land of contrasts.

have any of the other d20 cast members multiclassed other than emily and lou with fabian?
a bunch! it’s more obvious w fig, sofia, and fabian bc they were very plot relevant/had big moments to indicate their multiclass, but lou multiclassed w both fabian and amethar (barbarian/fighter), zac w gorgug (barbarian/artificer), siobhan w ruby (rogue/sorcerer), and ally w liam (ranger/rogue). as far as sidequests go, theres only krystina w bob (bard/cleric)!
emily has multiclassed literally every character she’s ever played in d20 though so thats a fun tidbit (fig is bard/warlock, sofia is monk/warlock, jet was rogue/fighter that eventually turned into full fighter, and saccharina is sorcerer/cleric)
also, murph now remains the only main cast member to have NEVER multiclassed in d20. couple goals, i guess.
