I said in my tags today that I wanted to see if maddie really had been on top of the pyramid more than all the other dancers combined, and since I apparently have nothing better to do, I used the dance moms wiki to find out. below the cut for extreme length and also for how very, very sad my life is that this is what I just spent roughly a half hour doing on a saturday night.

but there’s really no competition. maddie was, by far, the leader of the pyramid.

(edit: somehow forgot jojo in the final tally, but since she was only on the top of the pyramid once, her addition does not drastically change the final counts)

(edit 2: I mistakenly put kalani at the top of the pyramid for return of the rotten apples, when it was actually brynn and kendall. because of this, kalani’s total count is actually 16, and kendall’s is actually 13.)

LUCY AND PHIL HARRIS STRIKE UP THE BAND

S6;E21 ~ February 25, 1974

Synopsis

To drum up business for the Unique Employment Agency, Lucy replies to an ad in the newspaper to supply musicians for Phil Harris' orchestra. The candidates she brings Harris are all of different ethnicity, creating a multi-cultural musical act.

Lucille Ball (Lucy Carter), Gale Gordon (Harrison Otis Carter)

Lucie Arnaz (Kim Carter) does not appear in this episode, although the final credits do state “Lucie Arnaz Wardrobe by Alroe”. The character is mentioned by Lucy in the dialogue.

Guest Cast

Phil Harris (Himself) previously played soused songwriter Phil Stanley in a 1968 episode of “The Lucy Show.” Harris was known as a bandleader who became a comic radio star as a Jack Benny sidekick in the 1930s. Although his fondness for booze was largely a creation of the Benny’s writers, Harris played the part to the hilt. Harris was mentioned in “Lucy Gets Jack Benny’s Account” (TLS S6;E6) when Benny made a reference to Harris’ persona as a lush. In “Lucy and Joan” (TLS S4;E4) Joan (Joan Blondell) says she’s been in pictures so long she saw Phil Harris take his first drink! Harris was married to movie star Alice Faye from 1941 until his death in 1995 at age 91.

Tommy Farrell (Fred, Phil Harris' Arranger) was on Broadway in three plays between 1942 and 1947. He was seen on “The Lucy Show” twice. This is the last of his six episodes of “Here’s Lucy.”

In the final credits Farrell is billed as “Freddie” although Harris never calls him anything but “Fred.” The name is probably a tribute to Lucille Ball's brother and grandfather, both of whom were named Fred.

Marl Young (Marl Young, Pianist) was the “Here’s Lucy” musical director and often appeared on camera when episodes included music.

Young (as the character) says he's been working as an accountant. His last gig was with the Boston Philharmonic.

Michaelani (Mr. Yamoto) makes the third of his four screen appearances here.

Mr. Yamoto plays the clarinet and says he speaks several languages.

Anthony Ortega (Ooka Lanooka) was a professional saxophonist (although he does not play the instrument here) and is making his screen acting debut.

Ooka Lanooka plays the whale bones and is number one in his field. Back in Alaska, he worked a couple of one-night stands, which Lucy calls “working steady” because the nights in Alaska are six months long!

Henry L. Miranda (Pancho Rodriguez)

Pancho is a trumpet player formerly of Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass.

Jack Kelso (Saxophonist in Harris' Band, uncredited) worked as a studio musician between 1964 and 1984, in addition to recording with Mercer Ellington and Mink DeVille, touring worldwide and appearing in "The Concert for Bangladesh" as part of Jim Horn and the Hollywood Horns.

Ted Nash (Saxophonist / Clarinetist in Harris' Band, uncredited) was a saxophonist with Les Brown and His Band of Renown. In addition to being a studio musician for many films, he worked on the series “Peter Gunn” (1958-59).

The other members of Harris' orchestra, including ‘Hawaiian’ guitarist Malikalua, are played by uncredited musicians.

Two days after this episode first aired, February 27, 1974, The New York Times broke the news that Lucille Ball had decided not to continue with “Here’s Lucy” and that the show would finish production at the end of its current season. This came as no surprise to anyone, including viewers.

The the book “Lucy A to Z: The Lucille Ball Encyclopedia” by Michael Karol, it is noted that Anthony Ortega was a professional saxophonist who was cast by “Here's Lucy” Musical Director Marl Young. Ortega remembers nearly stepping on Lucille Ball's foot while crammed into the booth to pre-record the music for this episode. Afterwards, Ball complimented him by kissing him on the cheek and saying “You did a good job. I hear that you are a very fine saxophone player.” High praise, considering that all Ball's TV characters were amateur saxophonists. Ortega shared the booth with fellow sax players Jack Kelso and Ted Nash who also appear in the episode.

The script was dated January 9, 1974, meaning there was very little time between filming and broadcast – a mere seven weeks.

In her DVD introduction to the episode, Lucie Arnaz reminds us of her mother's early advocacy for hiring minorities, including Lucie's own father, Desi Arnaz, whom CBS was skeptical about portraying Ricky Ricardo. She also states that Marl Young was the first African American Musical Director of a major television show. Lucie calls this episode “Music for Everyone's Ears.”

Lucy says she was at the Wilshire Bowl the night Alice met Phil. This is a reference to Phil Harris' second wife, movie star Alice Faye. Faye herself was mentioned on “The Hollywood Unemployment Follies” (S3;E22) when Lucy and Carol Burnett discover a rack of costumes worn by Faye and Betty Grable. Harris and his orchestra had a regular engagement at the Wilshire Bowl, a restaurant in Hollywood located on Wilshire Boulevard which operated from 1933 to 1943. The building was demolished in 1982. Harris married actress / singer Alice Faye in 1941. Lucy says if she'd gotten to the Wilshire Bowl five minutes sooner she might be Mrs. Phil Harris!

“Phil Harris, popular star of stage screen and television, is taking a sentimental journey back into the music business. Between Las Vegas engagements, Phil is organizing a big band to encourage the increasing popularity of this kind of music. The former maestro has been engaged by the Club Internationale to inaugurate a big band policy for this popular night spot. He is looking for musicians with big band know-how to augment his orchestra now in rehearsal.”

Lucy's morning paper of choice is the Globe-Record. “Here's Lucy” propmaster Kenneth Westcott probably got this newspaper from from a small prop company called The Earl Hays Press, one of the oldest newspaper prop manufacturers in Hollywood.

As the series draws to a close, it might be a good time to mention the ubiquitous blue report covers used at the Unique Employment Agency. The use of this color cover dates back to the Westland bank offices on “The Lucy Show.” These are probably bound scripts recycled as props – but always with the blue cover. Blue was a good color for Lucy!

To drum up business, Harry arranges a lunch meeting with the Northshore Insurance Company. In many episodes like this one, Gale Gordon's character is in the set-up (generally the first scene) and then disappears from the narrative.

When Lucy arrives at the nightclub, Phil Harris is finishing a rehearsal of “Is It True What They Say About Dixie?" a 1936 song written by Irving Caesar, Sammy Lerner and Gerald Marks.

Lucy tells Harris that they have met before. She had Harris autograph her program during his performances at the Frontier in Las Vegas the previous summer. Lucy says she took the bus to Vegas. Frontier was the second resort that opened on the Las Vegas Strip and operated continuously from October 1942 until it closed on July 16, 2007 and was demolished. The Frontier's sign was glimpsed in the opening montage of “Lucy and Wayne Newton” (S2;E22).

When Mr. Yamoto (who is of Japanese descent) continually bows instead of speaks, Lucy reassures Harris that he's very good. Harris replies “Must be. He ain't hit a note and he's already taking bows.”

When Harris questions Lucy about the number of minorities she's brought to audition, he admits that he is Native American himself, but he doesn't let it get around because “they might cut off my whiskey.” He adds if it wasn't for [Equal] Opportunity, he might be “stringing beads at Wounded Knee.” I reality, the idea that Harris was Native American is as exaggerated as his penchant for spirits. Harris' birth name was Wonga, which is Cherokee for “speedy messenger” but the name is in honor of a friend of his parents' who worked in their circus; nothing to do with his heritage.

The only candidate that doesn't get to perform solo is named Malikalua. He is a Hawaiian guitar player who Lucy claims works as a plumber during the day but sometimes subs with the Les Brown Band at night. In the final performance the guitarist on the bandstand wears a Hawaiian shirt and many colorful leis around his neck. This is Malikalua.

Phil Harris: Look, honey. Are you from the employment agency or the United Nations?

To appease a women’s lib group picketing the nightclub, Lucy is quickly recruited into Harris' act. She provides the obligatory clapping for “Deep in the Heart of Texas.” In “Lucy and the Used Car Dealer” (S2;E9) Lucy Carter disguises herself as ‘Laredo Lucy’ and sings a bit of “Deep in the Heart of Texas,” a 1941 song by June Hershey and Don Swander.

Harris sings his hit song “That’s What I Like About the South” by Andy Razlaf and is joined by Lucy and his recently hired musicians. Specially written lyrics are sung by the diverse musicians and by Lucy. Her's seem particularly applicable to her character in Mame, although it is not overtly stated:

“Men have names like Beauregard

Tip their hat when they pass your yard

They act so cool but they fall so hard

That's what I like about the South”

In the about-to-be-released film, Southern gentleman Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside (Robert Preston) “falls so hard” for Mame Dennis (Lucille Ball) that the two get married.

During Harris' performance at the Club Internationale, the orchestra members stand up and take solos:

His trombonist plays in the style of Tommy Dorsey. Dorsey appeared with Lucille Ball in the 1943 film DuBarry Was a Lady. The uncredited musician riffs on “Marie” by Irving Berlin.

His trumpeter plays in the style of Harry James. James appeared on “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour” with his wife, Betty Grable, in 1958. The uncredited musician riffs on "Ciribiribin" written by Alberto Pestalozza in 1898.

His clarinetist Ted Nash plays in the style of Benny Goodman. In “The Publicity Agent” (ILL S1;E31) Lucy reads that the Shah of Persia has a standing order for all Benny Goodman's records, which inspires her disguise as the Maharincess of Franistan. Nash riffs on “Let's Dance” by Fanny Mae Baldridge, Gregory Stone, and Joseph Bonime.

His drummer plays in the manner of Gene Krupa. In a 1960 episode of “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour” Ernie Kovacs called Desi Arnaz “the Cuban Krupa.” The uncredited musician riffs on “Sing, Sing, Sing” by Louis Prima.

Pianist Marl Young plays in the style of Duke Ellington, riffing on"Take the 'A' Train" by Billy Strayhorn. It was the signature tune of the Duke Ellington orchestra.

As the finale, the entire Phil Harris orchestra plays in the style of Count Basie performing Basie's signature tune “One O'Clock Jump” while Lucy does the jitterbug.

In “Lucy and Sid Caesar” (TLS S6;E23), a starving Frankie the Forger (Sid Caesar) orders pork chops, a squab stuffed with oyster dressing, a turkey, lasagna, black-eyed peas, candied yams, corn pone, Virginia hams, hot bread, turnip beans, fat back, and lima beans! He is paraphrasing the lyrics to the song “That’s What I Like About the South.” Interestingly, the song was not performed by Phil Harris when he was a guest star on “The Lucy Show” just a month earlier.

Bob O'Brien also wrote “Lucy and Phil Harris” (TLS S6;E20), Harris' first appearance with Lucille Ball on “The Lucy Show” in 1968. It was O'Brien's idea to highlight ethnic diversity in the “Here’s Lucy” script.

The costumes Lucy provides for the new band members are reminiscent of “The Black Wig” (ILL S3;E26) where Lucy Ricardo and Ethel Mertz disguise themselves in a random assortment of theatrical costumes to fool their husbands. Lucy replies that Ethel looks like “An ad for a trip around the world.”

In “Little Ricky Gets a Dog” (ILL S6;E14) on January 21, 1957) his parakeets are named Alice and Phil, named after Alice Faye and her husband Phil Harris.

You Break Me Up, Pastel! Harris' punchline “they might cut off my whiskey” makes Lucille Ball laugh in a way that suggests it was an ad lib by Harris. He mutters something under his breath to Ball along the lines of “Cut off his whiskey. You like that?” They try to return to the script, but Harris adds “You like that, eh Pastel?” before Lucy regains her composure and continues the scene.

Lucy and Harris have a very relaxed rapport on screen. The ‘big band’ medley is one of the best musical segments of the series. And that’s what I liked about this episode!

Other:

Modern AU: V1. Nasir Azmeh was orphaned a young age with his little brother. In some versions, he grows up with said brother, and others he is separated by adoption at a young age. Either way, he has a rough childhood. He struggles in school, gets into fights more often than he should, and uses drugs occasionally. He began to heal through creating art, starting in his teens. In college versions of his modern AU, he studies painting and psychology, and wants to become a successful painter. (tag)

Modern AU (V2): AKA Sex Worker Verse, a closer to canon version. Nasir Azmeh was severely neglected as a child until he met an older man who took him in and actually cared for him, not recognizing the man as an abuser at such a tender age. This man, Quint–short for Quintus Batiatus, for my Spartacus peeps–eventually manipulated Nasir into sex work in his teens*, which he was unable to break free of until his early 20s. He has very little formal education, but he’s smart and is good at reading people. He is a skilled artist and painter, and generally a gentle soul once he lets you in. However, if he is still immersed in the world he shares with Quint when you meet him, he will resist intimacy strongly, and may lash out if he feels vulnerable. In this verse, he usually lashes out more with words than fists. (*In spite of headcanon, mun does NOT write underage sex/rape.) Let me know if you specifically want this verse! (tag)

Daddy AUs: A collection of several verses with @provemyselfalone and @nothornlessroses. Nasir has either “adopted” a reincarnated version of Duro as a son after the war, is actually reincarnated Duro’s biological father due to unusual circumstances, or helped raise Gwyn (daughter of Sibyl and Gannicus) after the war. I am open to other daddy AUs, if chemistry is right. Nasir loves to be a dad.

Single Daddy AU: (This verse is highly selective, and available to only those I’ve established strong ships with, romantic or platonic.) Having no strong role models and not knowing any openly gay men, Nasir stayed closeted in his teens. He had a couple girlfriends, and wound up getting one pregnant. The mother didn’t want to keep the baby, and Nasir wound up a single dad at 18. He struggled to clean up his act (reigning in his temper and getting away from his occasional drug use). Instead of pursuing fine arts in school, he pursued graphic design, and later got a job as a web designer to support himself and his little girl, Kalila.

Reincarnation AU: A variation on modern verse, where Nasir often dreams of being a wild, little warrior dog. He also has a fascination with the ancient Roman slave rebellions, but won’t tell you why, lest you think him crazy.

Seriously! I think we’re all missing the happy medium. It’s somewhere around here, I’m sure we can find it.

Am I the only sad sap that not only understands that this season’s arc is not only completely 100% justifiable and w/in his character as a reaction to stimuli in S6/7, but also excited to be seeing it unfold. And not in a character development way, but in a I want to see Daryl kill people on screen kind of way.

I know that we all like to over psycho-analysis this show and the characters reasons for everything that they do. I LIVE FOR IT! But can we all just realize and appreciate the fact that if this was any other show or movie (Z-Nation or Zombieland) where we weren’t trying to humanize all the characters, the entire audience would be cheering Daryl on. Everyone of you would be jumping up and down with every bullet or arrow he put in someone’s head, regardless of the person or motive to do so.

Idk I just think we’re taking this all a little too far...

Daryl’s not too far gone. He’s reacting. Something else will happen along the way and he’ll change his mind or bounce back. All the characters go through their ups and downs at times. If you don’t like it right now just ride it out till we park at the next bus stop in Daryl’s storyline because I promise you there’s more to come of him. Just you wait. And you won’t be disappointed that you did!

You are fucking joking right?

Do we really have to remind all of you assholes out there calling Daryl ‘Dirtyl’ that he was tortured, given dog food, encaged on a black hole naked, beat up and humiliated because of these people?! I get why Daryl is like this because, I’m gonna be totally honest, that Daryl that I saw today on TV wasn’t the Daryl that I always know, I wish I could see you being on his shoes Because I know you’ll be doing the same exact damn thing that he’s doing. Daryl is consumed with rage and revange, he’s a killing machine…he is traumatized for god sake! I get what he wants to destroy everyone, but let me remind you that when Rick mentioned the workers and the families that where on The Sanctuary Daryl proposed not to bomb that building but the other one. He thought of those people because he knows that those people have nothing on what the other shitfaces did to him. Right now we’re looking at how someone has gotten to be so broken by the inside and so devastated that he is apt to do things that he would never thought he will be doing. Rick gets that, I don’t know if he ever got to ask what happened to Daryl when he was basically kidnapped and brought to The Sanctuary, but in the way he gets why Daryl is like this and yes, they are still brothers, brothers get to have arguments sometimes and just like every other man they will fight with fists to solve it. I was really worried that this fight will split h them up but it didn’t because that truck was going to explode and Daryl took Rick’s hand to help him getting up, and they run their lives. They will be fine. So please for those fuckers who are saying that Daryl should be dead a long time ago please stuck your fingers up your ass because Daryl is one of the most strong characters that there has ever been on the show and as far as I know he is the half of stronger you assholes will ever be in your entire life and suck it if you think otherwise.

Phương tiện di chuyển, đi lại

1. Di chuyển từ Hà Nội/HCM đến Bangkok

Để có thể di chuyển đến Bangkok bạn có thể lựa chọn các hãng máy bay của Việt Nam như Vietnam Airline, Jetstar, Bamboo Airway hay Vietjet Air… hoặc các hãng máy bay khác như AirAsia, Nok Air, Thai Airways,… Giá vé tùy từng thời điểm sẽ có mức giá khác nhau, thường dao động từ 2 triệu đến 5 triệu khứ hồi.

Một kinh nghiệm giúp bạn có thể tiết kiệm chi phí chính là săn vé rẻ đối với những hãng hàng không giá rẻ và nên đặt vé máy bay trước ít nhất 1 tháng. Tại Bangkok có 2 sân bay chính là sân bay Don Muang (sân bay cũ) và sân bay Suvarnabhumi (sân bay mới). Sau khi hạ cánh tại sân bay Thái Lan bạn có thể dễ dàng đi về thủ đô Bangkok với những cách di chuyển sau:

+ Cách di chuyển từ sân bay Don Muang về Bangkok

Taxi: sau khi nhập cảnh bạn di chuyển đến sảnh ga đến để bắt taxi về trung tâm thành phố. Bạn có thể bảo tài xế bật đồng hồ để tính tiền theo km hoặc có thể trao đổi với họ một mức giá cụ thể. Tuy nhiên, bạn cũng nên mặc cả xuống một chút nhé! Bạn cũng nên hỏi cụ thể về việc trả phí cầu đường là mình trả hay họ trả. Nếu bạn lựa chọn đi cao tốc (highway) thì sẽ phải trả thêm phí. Tiền đi taxi từ sân bay Don Muang về Bangkok khoảng 300 – 400baht.

Xe bus: ở sân bay Don Muang có hệ thống xe bus để bạn lựa chon di chuyển về trung tâm. Xe buýt sân bay thường có giá rẻ và sạch đẹp hơn rất nhiều so với xe buýt địa phương. Các tuyến xe bus ở sân bay Don Muang như sau:

Route 4: Airport – Silom Rd

Route 29: Airport – Victory Monument – Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong)

Route 10: Airport – Victory Monument – Southern Region Bus Terminal

Route 13: Airport – Sukhumvit Rd. – Eastern Region Bus Terminal

Xe bus kết hợp với tàu điện: theo như kinh nghiệm du lịch Bangkok tự túc của nhiều người thì việc kết hợp di chuyển xe bus với tàu điện trên cao sẽ giúp bạn tiết kiệm thời gian bởi giao thông ở Bangkok thường xuyên trong tình trạng kẹt xe.

Nếu lựa chọn theo cách di chuyển này bạn có thể di chuyển đến cửa Gate 7 ở nhà ga quốc tế sân bay để đón xe A1 di chuyển về Chatuchak Park (giá 30 baht). Từ đây bạn tìm BTS Mo Chit hoặc đi MRT Chatuchak Park. Hoặc lựa chọn Bus A2 để đến trạm BTS Victory Monument. Từ hai trạm Mochit hay Victory Monument bạn có thể lựa chọn di chuyển về trạm BST/MRT ở gần nơi bạn ở nhất. (Cách di chuyển bằng BST chúng mình sẽ hướng dẫn ở phía dưới nhé!)

Thuê xe riêng: nếu như bạn đi theo đoàn đông người thì có thể lựa chọn thuê xe riêng di chuyển trên các ứng dụng như Klook, KKday… Việc thuê xe riêng sẽ thuận tiện tuy nhiên chúng sẽ tốn nhiều tiền và chỉ thích hợp với những gia đình hay nhóm đông người vì khi chia ra sẽ rẻ hơn rất nhiều.

+ Cách di chuyển từ sân bay Suvarnabhumi về Bangkok

Taxi: sau khi nhập cảnh bạn di chuyển đến cổng Entry ở tầng 1 cửa 4 và 7 của sân bay để xếp hàng bắt taxi. Các nhân viên sẽ đưa cho bạn 1 tờ giấy để điền tên điểm đến và cung cấp các thông tin cho tài xế. Di chuyển bằng taxi về Bangkok sẽ mất khoảng 400 baht.

Airport Rail Link: đây là tuyến tàu điện di chuyển từ sân bay Suvarnabhumi về thủ đô Bangkok và ngược lại. Giá vé 45 bath/chiều và (nếu đi đến trạm cuối) hoặc giá 15 bath/trạm, đi qua các trạm BTS có đường màu xanh hoặc đỏ (trong sơ đồ BTS phía dưới). Thời gian di chuyển là 30 phút. Đây cũng là một phương án lý tưởng trong kinh nghiệm du lịch Bangkok tự túc giá rẻ đó!

Xe bus: có 2 tuyến xe bus để bạn lựa chọn di chuyển về trung tâm như tuyến 551 về Victory Monument hoặc tuyến 552 về trạm Skytrain On Nut BTS Station. Xe bus hoạt động từ khoảng 4h đến 22h.

Airport Express Bus: tuyến xe bus chạy thẳng về các trạm Silom Road, Sukhumvit Road, Khaosan Road, và trạm BTS Hualampong với thời gian 45 phút, giá vé 150 baht/lượt. Bạn có thể mua vé tại quầy dịch vụ ở tầng 1, Gate 8.

Thuê xe riêng: tương tự như ở trên, bạn có thể lựa chọn thuê xe riêng để đi về trung tâm nếu như bạn đi đông người nhé!

2. Các phương tiện đi lại ở Bangkok

Một số phương tiện đi lại trong trung tâm Bangkok có thể kể đến như sau:

+ Tuk tuk: đây là một phương tiện di chuyển thuận tiện ở Bangkok và thường được nhiều du khách nước ngoài lựa chọn. Ưu điểm việc đi Tuk tuk chính là nhanh chóng ngay cả khi giao thông ở Thái thường trong tình trạng kẹt xe. Tuy nhiên, nếu đi Tuk tuk thì bạn hãy mặc cả giá nhé bởi họ nó nói thách khá nhiều đó!

+ Taxi/grab…: phương tiện này sẽ thích hợp với gia đình có trẻ nhỏ hoặc những nhóm đông thành viên bởi đi lại bằng taxi tại Bangkok thường có giá khá cao. Hơn nữa, vì thường xuyên kẹt xe nên sẽ rất tốn thời gian đó!

+ Tàu điện trên cao BTS hoặc tàu điện ngầm MRT: đây có lẽ là hai phương tiện di chuyển bình dân thường được nhiều người lựa chọn nhất. Dưới đây mình sẽ hướng dẫn cách di chuyển bằng BTS/MRT ở Bangkok, note ngay lại trong kinh nghiệm đi Bangkok tự túc nhé!

Hướng dẫn cách di chuyển BTS/MRT ở Bangkok

Nhìn vào sơ đồ trên bạn sẽ thấy có 4 tuyến đường chính: BTS là tuyến Silom (xanh lá), BTS Sukhumvit (xanh lam), tuyến tàu điện ngầm MRT (xanh nước biển nhạt) và tuyến Airport Rail Link (đỏ và xanh than).

Cách di chuyển BTS ở Bangkok:

Tuyến BTS Silom sẽ xuất phát từ trạm National Stadium (W1), kết thúc tại trạm Bang Wa (S12) và ngược lại. Một số trạm gần những địa điểm nên đi ở Bangkok như:

Trạm National Stadium (W1): dừng tại sân vận động quốc gia, gần trung tâm mua sắm MBK, Trung tâm nghệ thuật văn hoá Bangkok (Bangkok Art and Culture Centre), Jim Thompson’s House.

Trạm Sala Daeng (S2): nút giao với tuyến tàu điện ngầm MRT, gần khu ăn chơi Silom Road, khu Patpong, khu phức hợp mua sắm Silom Complex.

Trạm Saphan Taksin (S6): gần cầu cảng Sathorn, từ đây có thể đi thuyền miễn phí đến khu mua sắm Asiatique, gần cầu cảng Si Phraya nơi có nhiều du thuyền ăn tối trên sông Chao Phraya.

Các tuyến còn lại thường có ít các địa điểm du lịch ở Bangkok.

Tuyến BTS Sukhumvit sẽ bắt đầu từ trạm Mo Chit (N8) và đến trạm E14 Bearing, đi qua một số trạm có nhiều địa điểm du lịch như:

Trạm Mo Chit (N8): gần sân bay Don Muang nhất, kết nối với sân bay bằng tuyến xe buýt A1, nằm cạnh công viên và khu chợ Chatuchak. Là điểm giao với tuyến tàu điện ngầm MRT, bến xe Mo Chit Bus Station…

Trạm Phaya Thai (N2): điểm giao với tuyến tàu điện Airport Rail Link (đi sân bay Suvarnabhumi),

Trạm Ratchathewi (N3): gần khu Pratunam, cách khu mua sắm Platinum, chợ Pratunam khoảng 1km.

Trạm Siam (Central Station): nút giao của 2 tuyến BTS Silom và BTS Sukhumvit, gần các trung tâm mua sắm lớn Siam Paragon, Siam Centre và Central World, bảo tàng sáp Madame Tussauds Bangkok, thuỷ cung Sea Life Ocean World. Trạm này bạn cũng nên lưu ý trong kinh nghiệm du lịch Bangkok tự túc bởi chúng rất thuận tiện và gần nhiều địa điểm tham quan.

Trạm Nana (E3): nơi có nhiều các quán bar, pub….

Trạm Asok (E4): nút giao với trạm tàu điện ngầm MRT, gần trung tâm mua sắm Terminal 21, khu Soi Cowboy với các quán bar

Trạm Ekkamai (E7): gần bến xe Ekkamai, từ đây có thể bắt xe đi Pattaya

Trạm Udom Suk (E12): nơi gần nhất để đến trạm bắt shuttle bus đi Mega Bangna.

Tuyến BTS Airport Rail Link sẽ đi qua một số trạm để kết nối từ trung tâm Bangkok về sân bay Suvarnabhumi, trong đó có trạm Raychaprarop để đến toà nhà Baiyoke Sky Bangkok, gần khu phức hợp King Power.

Hướng dẫn cách mua vé tàu điện trên cao BTS:

Bước 1: Đến quầy vé để đổi tiền giấy thành tiền xu

Bước 2: Mua vé tại các quầy bán vé tự động. Tại đây bạn xác định trạm muốn đến sau đó nhập tên số của trạm, lúc này ở trên bảng tự động sẽ hiện số tiền mà bạn phải trả. Nhét xu vào ô số 2 (số tiền phải lớn hơn hoặc bằng giá vé bạn cần trả). Nếu thanh toán đủ thì vé sẽ rút ra ở ô số 3. Nếu có tiền thừa thì sẽ được trả lại ở ô số 4.

Bước 3: Đưa thẻ vào khe sau đó nhận lại thẻ ở mặt trên, cửa sẽ mở để bạn đi vào. Bạn phải giữ thẻ trong suốt hành trình. Đến lúc ra bạn làm tương tự nhưng chỉ cần đưa thẻ vào, máy sẽ giữ lại thẻ.

Bước 4: Xác định hướng mình cần đi. Đứng xếp hàng sau vạch vàng, nép về hai bên, nhường đường cho người xuống rồi hãy lên tàu nhé!

Cách di chuyển bằng MRT ở Bangkok

MRT là tàu điện ngầm bắt đầu từ Bang Sue đến trạm Hua Lamphong. Một số trạm phổ biến như:

Trạm Chatuchak Park: ngay gần công viên và chợ cuối tuần Chatuchak, nơi đón xe buýt A1 ra sân bay Don Muang

Trạm Thailand Cultural Centre: gần nhà hát xem Lan Siam Niramit, gần bảo tàng 3D Art in Paradise Bangkok

Trạm Phetchaburi: điểm giao với Airport Rail Link (trạm Makkasan) ra sân bay Suvarnabhumi

Trạm Sukhumvit: điểm giao với tuyến BTS Sukhumvit, gần trung tâm mua sắm Terminal 21

Trạm Silom: điểm giao với tuyến BTS Silom

Trạm Hua Lamphong: gần khu phố tàu Chinatown, phố ẩm thực Yaowarat.

Hướng dẫn cách mua vé tàu điện ngầm MRT

Bước 1: Bạn có thể mua vé tại quầy hoặc mua tại những máy bán vé tự động. Đối với mua vé tại máy bán vé tự động bạn cần xác định trạm muốn đến sau đó bấm vào tên trạm hiện ở màn hình. Máy sẽ thông báo cho bạn số tiền cần phải trả. Sau đó nhét tiền xu hoặc tiền giấy vào khe ở ô số 2. Nhận lại tiền thừa và vé tại ô số 3.

Bước 2: Vé MRT được xuất dưới dạng hình xu nhựa. Bạn quét đồng xu này để mở cổng kiểm soát và giữ chúng trong suốt chuyến đi.

Bước 3: Tương tự như khi đi BTS. Xác định hướng mình cần đi. Đứng xếp hàng sau vạch vàng, nép về hai bên, nhường đường cho người xuống rồi hãy lên tàu nhé!

Bước 4: Khi ra khỏi trạm, bạn sẽ nhét đồng xu vào khe. Máy sẽ giữ lại thẻ.

Nhược điểm: giao thông thường xuyên trong tình trạng đông đúc. Cách trạm BTS gần nhất khoảng 10 phút.

Khu vực Siam

Khu Siam Bangkok được xem là một kinh đô của các trung tâm mua sắm và đông cư dân sinh sống. Hơn nữa, Siam cũng có trạm BTS thuận tiện để bạn di chuyển đến các địa điểm du lịch ở Bangkok.

Ưu điểm: gần trạm BTS trung tâm giúp việc di chuyển được dễ dàng. Xung quanh có nhiều trung tâm thương mại mua sắm lớn như MBK, Siam Paragon, Siam Centre, Siam Discovery…

Nhược điểm: không có nhiều hoạt động về đêm. Giá phòng khách sạn cũng đắt hơn so với những nơi khác.

Khu vực Silom

Silom là khu vực tài chính lớn của Bangkok, là nơi có những trụ sở công ty lớn. Tuy nhiên vào ban đêm tại đây cũng rất sôi động và tấp nập với khu phố “đèn đỏ” nổi tiếng.

Ưu điểm: nhiều nhà hàng, khách sạn từ bình dân đến cao cấp. Gần khu phố “đèn đỏ” Patpong, gần nhiều trạm BTS, MRT

Nhược điểm: thường xuyên kẹt xe, không có nhiều nét đặc trưng của Thái Lan.

Khu vực Sukhumvit

Sukhumvit là trung tâm mua sắm, ăn uống và cuộc sống về đêm ở Bangkok. Tại đây là sự kết hợp giữa văn hóa bản địa trong những ngõ ngách khu phố với hiện đại, tiện nghi ở những tòa nhà cao tầng cũng như hệ thống nhà hàng phong phú, đa dạng.

Ưu điểm: nhiều nhà hàng, quán ăn. Có nhiều sự lựa chọn về khách sạn. Ban đêm sôi động, tấp nập.

Nhược điểm: các địa điểm tham quan, mua sắm thường cách xa nhau.

Khu vực China Town

China Town không chỉ là một con phố người Tàu mang đậm phong cách văn hóa Trung Hoa mà nơi đây còn được xem là một thiên đường ẩm thực của Thái Lan cũng như có nhiều hoạt động hấp dẫn.

Ưu điểm: thiên đường ăn uống với những hàng quán vỉa hè bình dân nổi tiếng. Khung cảnh tấp nập và rất lung linh khi về đêm.

Khu vực Riverside

Ưu điểm: không khí trong lành, cảnh đẹp. Nhiều nhà hàng, khách sạn sang trọng.

Thái Lan vốn nổi tiếng với nhất nhiều ngôi chùa cổ kính khác nhau, một trong những ngôi chùa được nhiều người yêu thích nhất có lẽ phải kể đến Wat Arun với tên gọi Tiếng Việt là chùa Bình Minh. Ghé tới đây bạn sẽ được chiêm ngưỡng lối kiến trúc độc đáo và không kém phần tinh tế của ngôi chùa cổ kính nhất tại Thái Lan này. Tuy nhiên, theo như kinh nghiệm du lịch Bangkok tự túc thì bạn nên cẩn thận khi mua sắm không sẽ bị lừa và nói thách đó!

Cách đi: đi BTS đến Saphan Taksin, tìm Exit 1 sau đó ra thẳng bến tàu rồi chọn tàu nhỏ di chuyển đến Wat Arun với giá chỉ khoảng 15 baht/người.

2. Chùa Wat Pho

Nằm ngay đối diện chùa Bình Minh là ngôi chùa không kém phần cổ kính mang tên Wat Pho hay còn gọi là chùa Phật Ngọc. Không chỉ nổi tiếng bởi công trình kiến trúc kì vĩ và hoành tráng mà nơi đây còn nổi tiếng với việc sở hữu pho tượng ngọc bích vô cùng ấn tượng và mang nhiều ý nghĩa đối với người dân Thái Lan. Đặc biệt, ngôi chùa này còn là nơi ra đời massage tại Thái đó!

3. Hoàng Cung Thái Lan

Một trong những điểm du lịch ở Bangkok nổi tiếng tiếp theo chính là Hoàng cung Thái Lan. Nơi đây được xem là một quần thể kiến trúc với nhiều công trình khác nhau được thiết kế mang đậm phong cách của nhiều nước như Thái, Hoa, Ấn… Mặc dù được xây dựng khá lâu song đây vẫn giữ được vẻ hoành tráng như thuở ban đầu. Ngoài việc phục vụ cho du khách tham quan thì Hoàng Cung còn là nơi thường tổ chức những sự kiện của hoàng gia Thái.

4. China Town

Không những vậy, chính khung cảnh lộng lẫy với những công trình kiến trúc đậm phong cách Trung Hoa xưa chính là điều mà nhiều du khách yêu thích tại đây.

Cách đi: đi MRT đến bến Hua Lamphong rồi đi bộ khoảng 10 phút là tới trung tâm China Town.

5. Phố tây Khao San Road

Ở Bangkok cũng có một khu phố Tây giống như ở Tạ Hiện hay Bùi Viện. Phố tây Khao San Road vào buổi tối thường rất đông đúc và nhộn nhịp, sầm uất với những quán bar hay quán pub. Không chỉ được cảm nhận một bầu không khí sôi động, đến với Khao San bạn còn có cơ hội thưởng thức những món ăn đường phố mang đậm nét của người Thái. Nếu còn đang không biết đi đâu ở Bangkok vui chơi về đêm thì Khao San Road chắc chắn là điểm dừng chân lý tưởng.

Cách đi: đi MRT đến bến Hua Lamphong rồi đi bộ khoảng 15 phút là tới Khao san.

6. Công Viên Safari World

Công viên Safari World được biết đến là một vườn thú tự nhiên lớn nhất Châu Á. Đây chắc chắn là một trong các điểm du lịch Bangkok cực kì thú vị dành cho những gia đình có trẻ nhỏ. Ghé tới đây bạn sẽ được tìm hiểu cũng như tận mắt chứng kiến rất nhiều loài động vật khác nhau như khỉ, vượn, hươu nai, cá heo…vô cùng thân thiện. Ngoài ra tại đây cũng có rất nhiều trò chơi hấp dẫn nữa đó!

Cách đi: đi BTS đến Mo Chit Station, ra Exit 1 hoặc 3 rồi tiếp tục đi bus 26 hoặc 96, xuống tại trạm Fashion Island Shopping Mall, đi qua cầu vượt bắt taxi đi thêm đoạn để đến Safari World.

Các địa điểm mua sắm ở Bangkok

1. Khu chợ Pratunam

Nơi đây được xem là một thiên đường mua sắm quần áo, phụ kiện bình dân với mức giá chỉ từ 200Baht là bạn có thể tha hồ shopping xả láng rồi. Mặc dù là một khu chợ thế nhưng chúng được thiết kế bên trong một tòa nhà rộng lớn với hàng trăm gian hàng khác nhau cho bạn lựa chọn. Khu chợ này gồm 2 tòa nhà chính, bên trong điều hòa mát rười rượi cho các bạn tha hồ đi ngắm đồ. Theo kinh nghiệm mua sắm ở Bangkok thì nếu mua với số lượng từ 3 cái trở lên bạn sẽ được tính giá sỉ đó!

Đặc biệt, bên trên tầng 4 của chợ Pratunam còn có một khu Food Court với cực nhiều món ăn ngon tuyệt vời cho bạn thưởng thức nữa đó! Theo như kinh nghiệm du lịch Bangkok của nhiều người thì giá các món ăn tại đây cũng rẻ hơn so với nhiều trung tâm thương mại khác.

2. Khu trung tâm thương mại Central World

Nằm ngay kế bên chợ Pratunam là trung tâm thương mại Central World – đây cũng chính là một trong những điểm đến lý tưởng mà bạn không nên bỏ qua khi tới Bangkok đó! Vậy Central World Bangkok có gì mà lại thu hút đến vậy? Ngay từ bên ngoài phía sảnh của trung tâm bạn sẽ bắt gặp một không gian rộng lớn dành cho những hàng quán với vô vàn những món ăn nhìn thôi là đã thấy thòm thèm rồi.

Bên trong tòa trung tâm thương mại là nơi hội tụ của các nhãn hàng thời gian, phụ kiện nổi tiếng với mức giá bình dân cho bạn thoải mái shopping. Hơn nữa, vì tọa lạc ở ngay trung tâm nên việc di chuyển cũng rất thuận tiện.

3. Siêu thị Big C Bangkok

Nằm ngay đối diện trung tâm thương mại Central World nổi tiếng là siêu thị Big C, đây cũng là siêu thị Big C lớn nhất ở Bangkok. Bên trong siêu thị này có rất nhiều mặt hàng khác nhau từ đồ ăn, thức uống cho đến những món đồ như dầu gội, sữa tắm, đồ gia dụng… Nếu như bạn không biết du lịch Bangok nên đi đâu mua quà cho người thân thì hãy ghé tới ngay siêu thị Big C Bangkok nhé!

Cách đi: đi BTS đến Chit Lom Station, Exit 1.

4. Chợ cuối tuần Chatuchak

Chatuchak là một khu chợ cuối tuần lớn nhất Đông Nam Á với diện tích hơn 1.3km2. Nơi đây tập trung hàng trăm gian hàng với nhiều khu vực khác nhau cho bạn khám phá từ quần áo, mỹ phẩm, đồ thủ công mỹ nghệ, cây cảnh hay đồ thú cưng…Tuy nhiên, chợ chỉ hoạt động vào 2 ngày thứ 7, Chủ Nhật cuối tuần từ 10h sáng đến khoảng 19h thôi nhé!

Cách đi: đi BTS đến Mo Chit station, ra exit 1 rồi đi theo đoàn người

5. Chuỗi trung tâm mua sắm Siam Centre – Siam Paragon – Siam Discovery

Nếu đã tới khu Siam thì nhất định bạn phải ghé thăm chuỗi trung tâm mua sắm Siam Centre – Siam Paragon – Siam Discovery lớn nhất nhì thủ đô Bangkok. Siam Discovery vừa mới được xây cách đây vài năm bên trong bạt ngàn các thương hiệu mỹ phẩm khác nhau. Siam Center thường tập trung các nhãn hàng thời trang nổi tiếng còn khu Siam Paragon lại có nhiều thương hiệu thời trang cao cấp. Ba khu trung tâm này nối liền với nhau chính vì vậy mà bạn hãy kết hợp đi nhé!

Cách đi: Đi BTS đến Siam Station, ra exit 1, ra exit 3 để vào Siam Paragon.

6. Trung tâm thương mại Icon Siam

Là một khu trung tâm thương mại mới mở ở Bangkok, ngay từ khi đặt chân tới đây bạn sẽ phải choáng ngợp trước vẻ đẹp hoành tráng, hiện đại và sang trọng, chính vì vậy mà còn chần chờ gì mà không bổ sung ngay Icon Siam vào danh sách những nơi nên đến ở Bangkok nhé!

Cách đi: đi BTS đến Saphan Taksin, tìm Exit 1 sau đó ra thẳng bến tàu và chọn tàu Icon Siam miễn phí di chuyển.

7. Chợ đêm Ratchada

Chợ Ratchada thường mở cửa vào những ngày cuối tuần từ 5h chiều cho tới 1 giờ đêm. Đây là một khu chợ đêm nổi tiếng nhất ở Bangkok. Theo như kinh nghiệm du lịch Bangkok tự túc của nhiều người thì bạn nên ghé tới đây từ khoảng 6h chiều lúc này thời tiết cũng khá mát mẻ và các gian hàng cũng bắt đầu mở nhiều. Không chỉ có những quầy bán quần áo, phụ kiện, đồ mỹ nghệ mà nơi đây còn là thiên đường ăn uống với những món cực ngon mà giá rẻ bèo đó!

Cách đi: đi BTS đến Ga Asok sau đó chuyển sang MRT đến Thailand Cultural MRT Station ra exit 3.

Ngoài các địa điểm mà chúng mình giới thiệu trong bài viết trên, ở Bangkok còn có rất nhiều khu trung tâm thương mại mua sắm nổi tiếng khác như MBK, Terminal 21, khu phức hợp Asiatique hay rất nhiều khu chợ ăn uống, mua sắm như Artbox Bangkok, chợ đêm Patpong…không cần phải suy nghĩ Bangkok có gì chơi nữa nhé!
