I'm most familiar with Huion! Their driver is pretty easy to understand. Only issue you'll have is finicky cords, but depending on the model and your attention to taking care of it, should last you a good bit (my cord rn is about 6 months in the running- amazon basics sells the model of cord for about $7 USD so isn't too big of a deal)

I have a screenless one, so I can't say anything about screen quality. I've only had to buy 3 pens, but only one of those was because it broke- other two was because I lost the one I had already. Overall I think its pretty good!

My sister has a wacom (the little one) and it's worked well for her for a good bit! however it's having some issues now (bout four years in) but it was $80 so not terrible. I think she's good with the driver too.

Its also aimed at what you're going for! I won't be doing huge animations (usually) and I don't draw on my tablet all the time (i switch between digital and traditional) so its very preference based! Additionally, I don't use any of the buttons on my tablet- I prefer command keys (Ctrl + z, Ctrl + w, Ctrl + t, etc!) so I have my tablet sat on my lap or a table (or sometimes in a car, a folded seat) with one hand holding the pen, the other on the keyboard. Only button I use is the one on my pen for an eyedropper for color (highly recommend!! )
