Yuu into dump

Yu is based on both Mickey and the Blot due to the relation of the Epic Mickey game to the “Into the looking glass” animated short. Also, for those who did not play the game, the blot was accidently created by Mickey and was meant to look like him but Mickey had 0 idea how to use the magic paint brush. 

Also, in terms of the Epic Mickey games and Twisted wonderland, there are a lot of parallels. Obviously their is the blot but there is also the fact that the Blot Phantoms have bottle heads and in the game, the blot was trapped in a giant bottle and phantom blots suck the magic from the host, similar to how the Blot in Epic Mickey sucks the magic from waste land.

Also, the blot creature that attack Yuu, Grim, and Silver looks like concept art of phantom blot

A theory that I am a fan of is that after Persona 2, Philemon split himself into the Velvet Siblings, whether it be because he was guilty about the bet or thought he could better understand humans is anyone's guess. Seeing as how him and Nyarlathotep are symbiotic, this would also mean he split as well. This would explain why Kagatsuchi from persona 4 arena was so similar to Nyarly. Maybe the gods who are similar to him are his fragments/avatars . What do you think?

To me the Velvet room siblings are supposed to represent animus/anima.

In the P3P opening you can see animus/anima in the intro right before Elizabeth and Theo appear.

It would also make sense that P3 male MC, Yuu, Ren/Akira all get female spiritual figures from the unconscious and FEMC gets Theo.

And of course the Velvet room siblings all shares ties to Frankenstein due to their names.

Philemon is semi-watching the protagonists from P3 onwards in his butterfly form. To me he retreated since Nyarly was banished during the EP ending and since they are two sides of the same coin as long as Nyarly is not active again Philemon holds back as well.

We will see how this will change now that more Lovecraft references returned with P5R.

As for Kagutsuchi:

I always thought that it was strange that he copied Nyarly‘s way of talking. Kagutsuchi barely has characteristics in his mythological version. Izanami died while giving birth to him and Izanagi killed him for it but nothing is said about his character.

In Nocturne Kagutsuchi makes more sense as the avatar of the Great Will since the birth of Kagutsuchi ushered the contrast between life and death into the world.

I just think they wanted a figure from Japanese mythology as a villain in arena since the Persona series at this point was very P4 focused.

Nyarlathotep does have countless avatars in Lovecraft sources but I am pretty sure that they did not have an intention of tying the Kagutsuchi depiction in arena to him. P5R showed if they wanted to start adding Lovecraft stuff again they will return to adding it especially since turning mythological figures into Nyarly expies did not work on a longlasting basis.

I really hope that one day Nyarly is able to make an actual comeback (this would pretty much automatically make Philemon return as well).

I watch the beast from a distance, behind guarded eyes. He stirs in his slumber, occasionally he whimpers as any cub would. With  dawn’s ray intruding, he rises and in return-watches me. Tell, what are we caging? Who is-the real beast? “Mind telling me what ding-dong-dash you were doing?” I inquire him. “Mind explaining to me what you’re doing in the witch’s gingerbread house?” Shiori-senpai retorts back. “Mind-da-both-of-yuu-quit-yapping?!” Jounetsu-san strikes like a real python and collapses back to sleep. My senior chuckles and I remain motionless.

After our ‘reunion’ yesterday, Obaasan decided to ‘keep’ Shiori-senpai and Jounetsu-san in another, heavily guarded magic section of the house. Essentially, a glorified bird cage. Of course, they receive the necessities of food, water, as you may. But my family and I can’t enter their room. Likewise, these two can’t step out until the barrier’s put down.

He catches eyes with me once again. “I’m not the one who put you in this,” I quickly defend. “From a rational mind to a lunatic of a person, ah, of course,” leaning his shoulder against the wall, he hangs his head low. “Oh, of course, you two just ‘happen’ to be around these parts.” “Hey-that is the truth. Besides, how could a  mere zombie such as I have a plausible tracking device on you?” “I wasn’t even considering that, but thank you for throwing yourself under the bus-” “-now you listen, I do n-” “And it’s not that my mage bloodline is a ‘secret’. I’ve told you upfront I had family business this summer. You’re in your final year of middleschool, why are you roadtripping in the middle of nowhere?”

I raise my head and steal quick reassurances. I gesture for Shiori-senpai to come closer, “Most of all, why is he here?” “Ouroboros, why are you here!?” Shiori-senpai nonchalantly shouts at him from across the room, Jounetsu-san shoots back bloodshot eyes. “Kid-I-still-don’t-know-what-the-bloody-hell-that-is!” he falls face-first into his pillow with muffled cries, “And pleaseee-leave me alone!” “We’ve got our own negotiation,” Shiori-senpai partially answers, I can feel him watching me , “Why should it bother you? You’ve wanted nothing to do with him.” “Now that holds water. I snap. I’ve snapped.

I’m realising I lost it, Shiori-senpai continues to watch my eyes.

“Why? What’s so wrong with getting to know someone?”

He gave me a moment to reopen the scars of yesterday to make room for tomorrow’s skin. He’s two years my senior, I don’t know his story nor can I claim he has no horrors of his own. But for me at least, I’ve had enough to realise I can’t handle anymore...or at least the risk of it.

I haven’t lost hope, I’m just being realistic. Many a time, people have told me God doesn’t set anything for his people that they can’t handle. I have faith that as his people, we should at least recognise when the red flags are unfurled. That’s our warning for the unbearable, our chance to survive.

“Call me selfish, and I realise this is very much a professional issue. But I know enough of people to not risk my mental health.”

I begin and try not losing my consciousness.

“I know I’m not a stable person. Trust issues as much as the demons that live through me. I’m rather pessimistic about relationships and what little compassion we claim to have, could say I loathe it and try my best to avoid any contact with it. So you could say it’s suicidal when I fell in love and knew from the start there wouldn’t be a future between us.”

“Us?”

“The human who has claimed my heart so much he became my everything and there isn’t anything I wouldn’t have done for him. And that’s exactly why he had to leave me.”

He only watches my eyes; and I’m partially with him.

“It’s not an exaggeration to say each breath I took was clouded tenfold by misery. I saw no reason to stay and death seemed all the more...comfortable...or at ease, than living with the pain or disappointment. The place that should have been home suffocated me, there was absolutely no escape.”

I’m gasping for air that pollutes me.

“I’m a naturally paranoid person too. So coupled under those environment, I narrow down my chance of hope. Or at least focus on something, someone rather...to be the beacon of hope when I myself am only worth nothing.I know well the dangers of making someone the centre of your universe, yet I still gave him my all without any clarity of what I meant to him.”

I’m tending open wounds with blood-soaked cloth.

“It took what little humanity I had left to love him.”

Before I let him paint my crowded canvas of emotions anymore, I half-heartedly excuse myself and escape to another portion of the house. I continue running away on an unstoppable hamster-wheel.

(Later on during the day)

“How you holding up, Dik?” my brother joins my side, I continue fidgeting with the grass. “-I’m not sure how to feel…” staring at my feet and these fingertips, but I can’t focus. “You’ve been suppressing, repressing, distracting-” “-subtracting, multiplying, add-” He immediately messes with my hair and I can almost laugh, just almost. He  waves a paper, pen and messily envelope right under my nose.

“No, Bang, it doesn’t smell weird,” he gives a weak flick on my head, but still strong enough to feel the impact. “Silly goose. A lil’ something for you to channel all of that… ‘maths’.”

He leaves me alone with a blank piece. I wish my heart could be this clear of passion and empty of feeling.

It doesn’t hurt as much when I say your name.

Like a broken recorder, I can replay the first moment my name fell of your tongue. The way your voice synced with sunlight washing over me, how our eyes met and my heart was instinctively reincarnated as a busy hummingbird. I continue to waltz with worries and be whipped by sorrows; but that first moment among a thousand others brought its own earworm. One of which was telling me to find the sweetest nectar from within, and favour myself before saving others.

I compare that to the last time I even spoke to you and received a humane response. All around me were enriched meals, joyous company, twinkling lights and the promises of fresh chapters- all I could do was not forgive myself as I lingered on your goodbye.

I tell myself this is part of why I can’t forget and move on , why I still live in my memories and my present is torn apart.

They don’t tell you how original faery-tales are pretty; pretty infectious and dangerous. They tell you to focus on ‘once upon a time’ and the glorified happy endings. I experienced both sides of the coin with you, with no deceptions or glorifications. It was all real, all so painful  yet necessary to be in Wonderland; which is why it mattered so much-which is why I still beat for you.

It still does hurt when I remember your name though.

Taking breathes knowing well I’ll choke, I give myself the strength to openly say what I’ve kept safe and sheltered; but never cultured.

“I could run these blood-soaked fingers across any page, your name would always drip out and spill all over.  I can be carrying my first child with the autumn sun-rays basking my skin, your eyes will appear and hearten his smile. You’re no friendly ghost, I still walk by my grave in hopes you’ll finish burying me.”

It’s silly how my own emotions can have me this overwhelmed. Liar-you’ve been running away from them.

“ After all you put me through; I do hope you’re on your way of finding some semblance of happiness.But guess two negatives can’t make a positive. Your eyes of hopeful life gave birth to my numb heart. Fate isn’t tied in red if you went to depart.”

“He’s not the villain-he’s not the dragon-I am the beast.”

I chant and chant, is this another distraction? “We’re all with our layers, shades; each thorn and rose.You could never blame someone for only trying to save themselves. Especially if your heart beats for them, when you can painstakingly feel the same soul crumbling. We had so many parallels, but never meant to cross paths. So once we did, the universe died a bit on the inside. He took measures into his own hands of re-adjusting the balance, bringing all back from that sweetened nightmare. What could be my paradise is his torment, and likewise.”

I have to soldier on..for him?

Yes-No!

Here I am back again, justifying and tracking back from any to all of my actions to him.

“He was voluntraily the sun as I shadowed after him. Did the Devil know what that meant? He lost his warms days as I was burnt as  a sacrifice. Then there were the hues of comfort and trust. All of the hope and belief that could foster any orphan. With him, even cruel winters had slivers of compassionate spring’s blossoms. Perhaps this is what I chose to view those moments as, through my rose-tinted glasses. Funny, I can just imagine his response to that revelation-just the perfect mixture of realism and solace. He wasn’t perfect and never had to be, he’s not what dreams nor fantasies are conjured from and he needn’t be. He embraced his duty as the sun, and that only made him more human. Especially after he decided to stop shining over me, and it was time I left Neverland without Pan’s shadow.”

I didn’t want to love him with the false side-effect of ‘being happy’. He was as much of a thorn as he was a faerytale’s rare rose; while I as much of the fastest creature as I am a fable’s faintest hare. I did come to love him as a result of safety. Albeit, risky. Trust was as guaranteed as the Moon and Stars arrive alongside nightfall. Despite them being soul-reaching factors, they shouldn’t hog up the Sky; and sometimes I believe I never should have become a part of his days.

It wasn’t as much ‘forbidden’ as it was simply never meant to be. Whenever the Sun and Moon cross paths, it’s an eclipse.Although it was my darkest hour, and we were both equally existing in the shadows: he allowed me to have my time and sacrificed his duty to shine.

Bookmark this if you’d ever want to return and understand- I still do love him, but now I have to wake up for dawn and go to rest after dusk. I can’t be the Moon if he doesn’t want to be the Sun; this is a real story that has had its runtime.
