Hualian Microfic

We are glad to present Hualian microfic, a place for all writers and readers to share their love for Hualian through writing and reading.

~Pick a prompt from the monthly posted prompts list, write a microfic and tag us!.

Rules:

~The fic should focus Hualian

It could be any form you like. Canon relationship to happily married hualian to unrequited hualian to parents hualian to friends hualian to implied hualian to a gist of hualian to an AU. you pen it down..

~Must be tagged appropriately

This relates to triggering subjects and/or nsfw content that needs to be tagged. We don’t care if you write about these subjects, but it is your responsibility to tag it properly. We also ask that you add a content warning at the top of the fic that includes any potential triggers.

~Format

There is no specified format. Just make sure to mention the prompt used, the word count of the fic (which would help us to categorize the fics) and simply tag us.

~Should be a microfic

While we do not have a defined length for a microfic, you should be aiming for a microfic. A 10k words fic would not pass as a microfic.

FAQs:

~What if my fic exceeds what can be counted as a microfic?

We understand sometimes you flow with the flow and the microfic turns into a not-microfic. Does that mean your hardwork in writing is waste? No!, in that case post the fic to our Ao3 collection, the compilation of microfics that turned into not-microfics.

~Do I have to write all of the prompts?

Definitely not. Write only one in a month. Skip several months and come back. Write every other prompt. Write the ones that you want to. Write all of them. Whatever you want to do. 

~Do I need to write the prompts in order?

Nope! Write them in any order. Just make sure you tag which prompt you use in any post. 

~Can my fic contain other ships?

Sure!, as long as it has hualian as the primary you can include gist of other ships and relations in your fic too.

~Is nsfw ok?

Ofcourse!, as long as it is tagged appropriately i.e. an nsfw warning is included.

~Can it be Wu Ming/Xie Lian instead of Hualian?

Yes!.

~How much long would it take for my microfic to be reblogged?

We'll try to reblog it within 24 hours but it may take 24-48 hours.

~Why has my fic not been reblogged yet?

As said above, if tagged properly, your fic would be probably reblogged within 24-48 hours but in case if it is still not reblogged please send us an ask linking your post so we can look into it.

@kamoteqeater asked me about my opinion on Ling Wen/Yushi Huang and my answer got too long for the comment section lol so here it is.

I think they're pretty wary of each other bc their choices are so baffling to each other's approach to life. They respect each other's skills and have no interest in interacting more closely. Ling Wen is committed to trying to have what power she can within the rigid social hierarchies of heaven, using her administrative skills and broad reach to influence things and have her fingers in every pie. Yushi Huang is committed to saying FUCK THAT to heaven, and doing what she thinks is right no matter the cost to her personally.

They're the only two major female heavenly officials* within TGCF and honestly given how much TGCF is about gender, I think it's like....telling. that the two of them are in such positions that they aren't collegial with each other. Heaven is so male-dominated that to make it as a female god is by its nature rather isolating.

So I genuinely have trouble seeing the two of them getting together (either romantically or sexually) for any reason! Which of course means it would be very fun to shove them together in a scenario where they have to interact, lol. But it's hard to condense this down into something pithy, and I don't think they're particularly viable as a ship with many possibilities.

I would absolutely read about them Being Forced To Work Together on some mission or goal though!!! Work enemies (cordial).

*unless you count Shi Qingxuan, who IS having a whole gender thing going on, but who most of heaven wouldn't count as a female god

- their fucked up friendship is weird and delicious

- they're important to each other, and also neither of them would ever say anything positive or emotionally affirming to each other

2. Ling Wen/Shi Qingxuan

- the GENDER of it

- lw friends with sqx's creepy domineering bro, knowing what swd did and is willing to do, while sqx is oblivious

- sqx always aware and thinking about swd's opinions on sqx's actions

- lw & sqx seen so differently by the rest of heaven, but neither is taken seriously

- so many unspoken undercurrents of connection between them!

3. Ling Wen/He Xuan

- lw is basically living the "good end" version of hx's life -- getting revenge and total control over the one who wronged you

- and it kind of sucks! the good end is bad!

- mash these characters together and play with those themes. yummmm.

4. Ling Wen/Jun Wu

- lw is one of the few gods who sticks with jw after the mask comes off

- interesting to explore her degree of loyalty

- and, tbh, how little her loyalty means to jw, because jw is obsessed with xie lian only, and doesn't care about anyone else

whoops this one should be #5, the next one is actually #4!

4. Ling Wen/Bai Jin

- lw's backstory is all told second-hand!

- how much of it is true, or correctly interpreted? she's not telling

- bj is clearly important to lw, despite whatever went down

- a complex relationship between the two of them. fun to explore!

6. Ling Wen/Xie Lian

- their friendship is cute!

- and they both genuinely respect each other!

7. Ling Wen/Shi Wudu

- swd has bad vibes, but so does lw

- come for the friends to lovers, stay for the "but eugh who else would even want to be friends with these assholes"

- they deserve each other!
