in Tokyo, a boy named Nobita Noby (Megumi Ohara) struggles with school, family, and his crush, Shizuka (Yumi Kakazu). his future looks bleak until a robot cat named Doraemon (Wasabi Mizuta) appears from the 22nd century. sent by Nobita’s descendant, Doraemon’s mission is to make Nobita happy and fix his future. using magical gadgets and endless patience, Doraemon helps Nobita overcome challenges. but the question remains - will Doraemon stay with Nobita forever?

as a Doraemon fan since childhood, Stand by Me Doraemon feels like a warm hug from an old friend. I remember watching the TV series after school, sitting on the floor with snacks, laughing at Nobita’s silly misadventures. my parents also bought me a huge collection of its translated mangas. this movie brought all those memories rushing back. from the very first scene, I felt like I was reconnecting with a part of myself I hadn’t thought about in years. it’s nostalgic in the best way, and yet, it still feels fresh and new. Doraemon has always been a special character to me. he’s more than just a robot cat. he’s the friend every kid dreams of having. his pocket of gadgets is magical, but it’s his kindness and loyalty that make him unforgettable. in this movie, his relationship with Nobita feels so real, like they’re family. Doraemon is sometimes strict, sometimes playful, but always supportive. watching them together made me wish I could go back to simpler times when all I needed was a little hope and imagination. the animation is simply stunning. I grew up watching the classic 2D version of Doraemon, so seeing this 3D version was a treat. it’s like the characters jumped off the page of a storybook and into my world. the details are incredible. Doraemon’s fur looks soft, the city feels alive, and even Nobita’s messy room feels so real. the colours are bright but not overwhelming, and the animation adds a modern touch to this timeless story. it’s like watching my childhood come to life in a new way.

the story itself is emotional and full of heart. it’s about friendship, courage, and believing in yourself. watching Nobita struggle and grow throughout the movie made me reflect on my own childhood. like Nobita, I wasn’t the most confident kid, and I often wished for a Doraemon to guide me through life. seeing how Nobita changes with Doraemon’s help is inspiring. it’s a reminder that even if we stumble, we can still stand up and move forward. there are so many moments that touched my heart. one that stands out is when Doraemon helps Nobita realise he has to fight for his own happiness. it’s such a simple but powerful message. and then there’s the ending. it had me tearing up, even though I already knew what would happen. it’s a story about letting go, but also about holding onto the memories and lessons that shape us. this movie is more than just a kids’ story. it’s a celebration of childhood dreams and friendships that never fade. even as an adult, I found myself laughing, crying, and cheering for Nobita and Doraemon. it’s a movie that stays with me long after it ends, like a treasured memory I keep revisiting.

"The "Pierrot Anime Fair 2002" was held at TFT Hall (Ariake, Tokyo) for two days from Sunday, May 5th to Monday, May 6th, 2002! At the fair, there's artwork from Tokyo Mew Mew and tables selling Mew Mew goods, so fun… but this time, I will be introducing everyone who plays the voices of the five Mew Mew characters. Then, Rika Komatsu, will sing the opening song, I got to rush, everyone's so busy!"

"While Komatsu was singing, everyone worked together to get into the rhythm. There were so many enthusiastic fans shaking their penlights! Everyone who came to the venue was able to feel "Doki★Doki" (enthusiastic, lit tl- heartbeat / heart racing, referencing the song lyrics)! After the song ended, so did the first day of the event and it was finally time to say goodbye. Komatsu's performance ended with cheers from the fans. Komatsu-san, thank you for everything and for your your hard!"
