1. How many works do you have on A03?

18 as of a few days ago!

2. What's your total A03 word count?

157,937! Which is. Only a fraction of the word count in my Docs folder. Be prepared.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

I mainly write for The Legend of Zelda; specifically Linked Universe! In fact, that's all that's posted on my Ao3 currently, since my fall into that fandom began with me uploading there! Pre-Ao3 I wrote for Black Cat (Anime/Manga), Megaman NT Warrior, various Pokémon things, Assassin's Creed, Yugioh, Final Fantasy XIV and Octopath Traveler! Some of these I still write privately, but I haven't gotten around to re-posting any.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Whistling on Deaf Ears - My longest fic on Ao3, focusing on Wild and Twilight's friendship and how good intentions can lead to disaster.

Iconoclasm - Warriors deals with the room full of portraits in Cia's palace. The Chain also deals with it, but with a bit more fire.

Deserving - Twilight finally tells Rusl that he was the wolf in the village during TP, but that also means dealing with some heavier topics. Colin half overhears them and forms his own conclusions.

Something Greater - The start of the "Hyrule can see magical auras" series! In this one we deal with Legend and his many rings.

Ocean Magic - Mermaid Legend and Zora Time have a race and then fight one of the Big Octos from WW! Fun times.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Every single one!! I love comments, they give me an excuse to ramble about my fic more!! I am always down to ramble about every single insignificant detail of any line and/or section. If you ever want more background info about one of my fics, look to the comments!

So please, I adore comments, I treat them like treasures, not responding to them would be a CRIME.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

There's no contest; Inevitable, my (so far) only MCD fic.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Hmmm, that's hard to quantify. I usually try to end fics on a hopeful note regardless. I'd say possibly either Deserving, where Twilight reconnects with his family, or Shimmering Blue, Striking White, where Time meets the Fierce Deity settled down on Satori Mountain and they both get closure.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Thankfully, no! I've been blessed with mostly amazing and patient readers, even when my upload schedule isn't the best.

9. Do you write smut?

No, not really. I've attempted it, but I'm too asexual for it lol

10. Do you write crossovers?

Very, very rarely. Mostly privately, and only very specific ones. Only a single one has had an actual plot, so far (more on that one in question 15!).

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nope!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Also a nope! I tend to write for smaller fandoms, where these things don't tend to happen a lot!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have! But it's been a while. Over a decade, in fact! I tried to find the fic to link it here, but it was on the German fanfic website fanfiktion.de, and my friend who posted it back then must have deactivated her account, because it's nowhere to be seen (I still have the Word file though!). It was a Multi-Crossover that started as an RP in a forum, and we took turns turning the RP into prose one chapter each. "If a Hero Turns to Dark" was its title. We were edgy teenagers.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

Hissssss. Bad question. Shoo. They are all equally important!!

But it's probably TenRose from Doctor Who.

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

One of the very few crossovers I've ever worked on; a crossover fic between Assassin's Creed and Doctor Who, that I have mapped out in both chronological and timeline order, and yes, those are different. I only ever wrote about a quarter of it, since my primary audience of it disappeared when we graduated. I doubt I'll ever pick it back up properly, and if I do it'll probably go through heavy rewrites first since it's so old. Finishing it is a nice thought, but realistically, after 9 years it'll never be high priority enough for it to actually happen.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue, especially arguments, and emotional impact. I've been told I do really well making characters feel alive and believable! Also I like to believe I'm decent at setting a scene and giving it the vibe I want it to have!

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I struggle with dialogue tags when nothing much is happening besides the talking. I always feel it's too bland, and fall back on the same phrases. My scene transitions could use some work too.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I've done this with Japanese phrases, because I was a massive weeb. Usually I followed them up with their own translations, though; I'm not the biggest fan of footnote translations, unless they are properly linked to. Simple dialogue tags are my favourite way of indicating a language switch.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Black Cat the Manga/Anime! It's a series about an assassin turned bounty hunter trying to live a life separate from his murdery past, but getting dragged back into things by still wanting to avenge his best friend's death. The series has a special place in my heart and my bookshelf, it left an imprint on 13-year-old me that will never leave.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Probably Jailbreak, uncharacteristically enough! It's one of the only fics I never got stuck in once. Writing it was a great feeling from start to finish. I love writing all of my fics, but that was a special few days.

On YouTube? 28 years ago was 1996. FoxKids/FoxBox (then 4Kids, then CW4Kids, then Toonzai, then Vortexx) started airing in 1990 and continued well into the 2010s. Other networks also had some big shows (Yugioh was everywhere lol). I'd be kind of shocked if 28-year-olds managed to avoid an entire childhood of network-aired anime and not see their first anime until their teen years. I wouldn't be surprised if people might have forgotten some of these English-aired anime tho, so let's dive into some history/fun facts! When a current 28-year-old was a preteen, this was on network (non-cable) TV:

I'm also including this real, actual ad that aired in 2006 to promote 4Kids because it's a treasured part of dubbed anime history lol. This is a great example of how cringe anime marketing used to be, and also of what YouTube quality used to be like:

Here's a list of some of the anime airing on Fox and WB in 2000-2010. Needless to say, this isn't all the anime that aired on network TV in North America at the time, but I'd be surprised if an adult over 25 hadn't seen at least one (like One Piece?). Pokemon gets an honorable mention since it's specifically excluded from the poll; it started airing in English in 1999 and hasn't stopped. Cardcaptors Dragonball/DBZ (another one that started before I was born and went for decades) Digimon Digimon Adventure 02 Digimon Tamers Digimon Frontier Every generation has a Pokemon, a DBZ, and a Digimon haha

Sailor Moon (please note this could be confusing some of y'all: it originally aired in NorthAm in 1995, but also re-aired in 1997, 1998, and 1999-2002, so that's why people in different age groups remember it lololol)

Another fun and little-known fact: when Sailor Moon first came over, NorthAm tried to give it the Power Rangers treatment. They made a more Western-style animated pilot and paired it with live action sequences (and merch, of course).

A lot of non-cable channels stopped licensing anime by 2010 since cable networks had picked them up, and since YouTube had come a long way by then.

Some YT history: YT launched in 2005. In 2007 they added text on screen (like for translations). In 2010 the video length limit was raised from 10 minutes to 15 minutes, and quality was upped significantly. This created an explosion in (illegally) uploaded shows, since a typical TV episode would now fit into just 2 parts. Between this and the expansion of anime to US/NorthAm cable channels, regular non-cable channels kind of bowed out of the anime licensing game (although there was a last gasp in the form of CW Vortexx from 2012-2014).

To place this in the timeline, 2011 is when The Amazing World of Gumball started and that Thundercats anime reboot happened.

Also just as a fun fact, anime started broadcasting in the US all the way back in the 60s (the original Astro Boy in 1963)!

so while sorting out my yugioh card collection, as i was looking for cards for my nearly finished Shiranui-Zombieworld deck. i found THIS!

seeing as Battle Network FINALLY gets its legacy collection, i believe i'll share some of the cards i owe from this failed card game for the anime. the card game is pretty awesome. not gonna lie, its pretty fun. but of course never took off. i have a Bass to share after all~

Mayhaps the gods had decided to grant him a modicum of mercy in this unfortunate situation. Either he was doing a good job of ignoring the spirits, or tsuki could see them but just didn't care. Either way, he could hopefully avoid any unnecessary exposition.

It took him a bit, but eventually he found something his father had made for him years ago. Sort of a skeleton key. It was made in case he ever lost the keys to his lockbox, but it was never really used.

With a bit of effort, and minimum fumbling, he managed to get the handcuffs unlocked.

"There... Free at last, mr. Tsukiya."

Wait

Tsukiya?

No, that couldn't be-

But the hair

Oh dear

While he wasn't one of the headmaster's students, he had heard enough from a few online friends that were.

Somehow, he had avoided the man's fury, at least, he hoped.

He cleared his throat, and adressed the shorter male

"Again, i apologize for this rather... Unsavory situation. Now that we are freed, you may leave at your leisure." He said, a bit more stiff, upon realizing who the man was.

Hoping to avoid any further mishaps, he gave a nod to the headmaster and went to tidy up his living room. Mother wouldn't want to come home to a messy house anyway.

“Possibly, but it might take me a while to find something in my father’s old tools.” He said with a sigh

Great. He had hoped he would be able to avoid being reminded of his late father, but then again, he completely understood why this tsukiya wanted to be free as quickly as possible. It wasn’t exactly the most ideal situation.

He motioned for tsuki to follow him into the garage. It was quite obvious that the room hadn’t been touched for a while, as it was covered in a few layers of dust.

“I apologize for the mess. My mother and i don’t really go in here that much.”

As if to make things worse, two brown, canine like duel spirits with bandanas around their necks and horns on their foreheads, materialized and began whining curiously at the two. They were mila and milo, missus and milus radiant.

Great. Hopefully he could just ignore them and explain later. He didn’t want to have to explain why he was talking to himself, unless this man could see duel spirits. And even if they could, he really didn’t want to tell the highly personal story behind them to a complete stranger

He opened up a drawer and began rummaging through it to find something to pick the lock, or cut the chains. He tried his best to ignore the two spirits, who had become increasingly vocal, not liking that they were being ignored.

“…”

Tsuki remained silent, not really caring to pry or respond. He wouldn’t really gain anything, after all. What was important was getting out of here. 

With a scowl, he glared to the side. He’s going to have to fight something the moment he’s freed. This pent up frustration was hard keeping in.

Duel Spirits were something he could always see, so it was no surprise spotting one or two. The headmaster rolled his eyes, tapping his foot impatiently as he waited for the boy to find whatever could break them free.
