YUGI TWINS HCS!!
( All photos from Pinterest )
On their 12th birthday their parents got them keychains for their keys, because they were growing up and they thought they should have keys to their house. Amane got a rocket ship keychain and Tsukasa got a beetle.
Amane likes vanilla flavored cake because it’s simple and Tsukasa likes chocolate because it’s flavorful. But both of them don’t like birthday cakes that much so they have donuts.
Amane autistic a** just likes plain sweet donuts.
Tsukasa audhd a** likes flavorful things ( Sometimes, but more often than Amane ).
When Mitsuba figures out what a birthday is he asks Tsukasa what’s his birthday, it takes a while for Tsukasa to remember but he answers.
Then Mitsuba, Sakura and Natsuhiko plan a  little surprise birthday party.
They keep Tsukasa busy enough to stay out of the broadcasting room for a two days so they can get everything set up.
Then on his birthday he comes to the broadcasting room, turns on the lights and,
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TSUKASA!”
It’s not so loud, even though it’s the Broadcast club and a lot of Mokkes because Sakura doesn’t think Tsukasa likes loud out of control and sudden noises so it’s at regular volume.
Tsukasa stares blankly at everything for a few minutes, the decorations, little pile of presents in the corner and table with food and donuts.
They start to doubt if he likes it or not until he finally says something.
“What is all of this..?” - Tsu
“It’s your birthday, isn’t it?” - Mitsu
They say it’s his small birthday party they set up, and he still doesn’t react any way, but subtly shocked.
“…. Do you like it?” - Saku
It’s takes a few minutes, longer than expected for Tsu to look around again. But then he mumbles, “I like it..”
“But.. Why..??” - Tsu
“Because it’s your b-day.” - Natsu
“Yeah, when was the last time you even celebrated?” - Some rando Mokke
Tsu shrugs because that’s too many years to count.
Then they just have a good time, and Tsu has a good time which is great.
Saku gives him a short beetle locket necklace, that reminds him too much of the beetle keychain he once had
Tumblr media
Mitsu gives him a promise bracelet to match with his.
Tumblr media
Natsuhiko gives him a sketchbook, because i’d be better to stop drawing on the walls.
And the Mokke give him boxes of candy.
Plus they all give him a matching friendship pocket charm. Tsu puts the charm in his locket.
Would Tsu be lying if he said he wasn’t internally emotional and felt like crying?
Hanako also has a surprise party, but since the bathroom isn’t as big it’s just decorated and they hang out as usual while giving him his presents.
He’s also really really shocked but rolls with it.
Nene gives him a starfish necklace. It’s a fish, and she loves fish and marine animals, but he likes stars and space stuff so it’s perfect!
Tumblr media
Kou gave him a book about astrology and crystals that he thinks he would like ( He kind of doubted it a little but was relieved when Hanako was so happy )
And Aoi gave him a matching heart necklace
Tumblr media
Hanako almost cries.
Also, matching Toilet Squad locket necklaces
Tumblr media
Nene and Aoi have the heart, Kou has the circle, and Hanako has the star.
PLUS! Tsukasa got Hanako a present! Because why wouldn’t he give his dear twin brother a present?
He gives him a box with a plain donut ( Like how their mom used to make them ) and has a self-made matching bracelet and note.
“Dear Amane, just wanted to wish you a happy birthday this year. You must have been lonely the last few years, or not? I was. Doesn’t matter now! Happy Birthday big brother. I love you.
The tears he was holding in finally slipped. But he quickly wiped them away.
He felt too sick to eat the donut, but he’d feel even more guilty to not eat it. So he did. And put the bracelet in his pocket.
He would feel way too guilty about not giving Tsu a present back, because that is literally the least he can do, so he got him a card saying happy birthday back.
Tsu was overjoyed but also very melancholic.
For their birthday they used to always make donuts with their mom and dad. The special ingredient being cinnamon and vanilla abstract.
Every birthday their dad gives them a new toy to add to their playroom.
On their 7th birthday Mr. Yugi tricked Tsu into thinking he was getting a koala plushie ( He hates Koalas bc they beat him up ).
The twins always sneak some birthday food into their mouths before their birthday. ( Sometimes without their mom or dad knowing )
But half of the time it’s always Amane’s idea.
“Hey Tsu, want to eat the birthday food?”
Tsu always agrees.
Criminal big bro, convincing little bro to engage in committing crimes.
When they both died Hanako never thought about their birthday ever again.
HAPPY BDAY HANAKO AND TSUKASA!

dysfunctional
Hello! I am once again thinking about the yugi twins. Don't mind as nanabansama rambles on...
Specifically, I was thinking about how rough their relationship has been since the beginning! The relationship becomes very tragic when you step back and examine the entire situation.
(Before we go any further, note that I am a "Tsukasa Truther" meaning that I believe almost every Tsukasa is the same person. This means I believe 4th Birthday Tsukasa, Red House Tsukasa, and the one that came back are all Tsukasa. The only one I'm willing to bend on is "Tsukasa-kun", the one haunting the school in the changed world, but even then I'm inclined to believe it's still Tsukasa.)
anywho... the earliest Tsukasa we know was always resented by his dying older brother.
Tumblr media
I find this really interesting. Amane is jealous and thinks Tsukasa is the "lucky" one, which is kinda true, isn't it? He lucked out and wound up with zero health complications. If I was Amane, I might feel frustrated, too. Not that it's Tsukasa's fault either, but...
I really like how, even when Tsukasa and Amane were alive together, and there was no doubt either was a fake, it wasn't going right! It's possible it's never once been going right, at least not since Amane was old enough to realize the innate difference between himself and Tsukasa.
You could maybe argue they were happy on the night of their 4th birthday, but Tsukasa still left that night thinking Amane hated him and was happier without him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even the instant Tsukasa came back from the Red House, Amane wasn't sure if he was real. While he had good reason to doubt it was Tsukasa, I think it's interesting how he couldn't wholly enjoy his brother coming back without feeling like something was...wrong.
Tumblr media
Then Amane is burdened by this suspicion up until and after their deaths, while Tsukasa has firmly believed Amane hates him since he was 3-going-on-4 years old. And it's impossible to say how long that actually is at this point, haha.
There's something really sad about how Amane longs for the past, back when his relationship with Tsukasa didn't seem all that complicated, yet Tsukasa is on a completely different page because of something Amane did that he might not even remember anymore. And on top of that it doesn't help that Amane killed him, almost cementing Tsukasa's suspicions that Amane hates him...
I feel I don't need to touch much upon their strained relationship as ghosts, so I want to jump to the changed world. This Amane grew up without Tsukasa and is clearly miserable because of it. His preoccupation with making everyone happy by exploiting the supernatural proves this: no one happy with their life would do that unless they miss someone dearly. Yet we saw what happens when he gets to grow up with Tsukasa: they both die. Amane can't accept Tsukasa as he is and Tsukasa doesn't think he'll ever be loved. They're completely dysfunctional and every single scenario ends in ruin.
...well, I guess we still haven't learned what happens in a world where Amane Yugi died before he turned 4. Somehow I get the feeling things might've gone better there, but nonetheless very tragic. There's a good possibility Tsukasa might've eventually found some other way to use the supernatural to bring Amane back, though.
Tumblr media
Looking at the photograph in Ch. 119, the parents both look pretty pleasant. They both appear to be smiling while Amane isn't, implying they took it better than he did. You could possibly argue Mrs. Yugi is wearing a neutral expression, but it looks more like a smile to me. Personally, this tells me that they both took Tsukasa's disappearance better than Amane, so the only ones Amane is really making happy are himself and arguably Tsukasa. It isn't difficult to imagine a brotherless Tsukasa meddling with the supernatural too, especially since he already did that in the original timeline.
Anyway... am I really here to argue that the Yugi Twins are completely hopeless? No, of course not!! Even though that is basically what I'm doing. BUT I really do believe they might eventually work this out, just as of right now it's looking really bleak. As we can see by the fact we are at 119 whole chapters now, it's taking a long time to mend their relationship and will probably take a lot more, if it ever works out.
While the changed world feels like Amane going a few steps backward, it might actually be progress. And even before the world changed, when Amane believed Tsukasa was a fake, I think that was an important step towards mending their relationship, too. If they can just confront their issues with each other properly, maybe they can finally move on with their lives and find peace. Who's to say! 👻 Thanks for reading.

Tsukasa and normalized violence
Today I was watching a video about JSHK's iceberg and I ended up on the topic about Tsukasa again, the same as always.
It's about the "Tsukasa is Tsukasa" theory. Given that, I thought of another argument that proves this theory, and I want to discuss it here.
My argument is that violence was normalized in Tsukasa's mind, and not only that, I also wanted to comment on the trauma he suffered while he was in the Red House.
(It turns out that this analysis was kind of told as a story, but I think it turned out more interesting this way :))
Without further ado, let's go!
(Long text ahead)
It's indisputable that Tsukasa suffered a lot throughout the story, and that he had many traumatic moments throughout his life (which not even he himself considers as trauma), and the main one for me is his time spent in the Red House.
Tsukasa Yugi, a 3-year-old boy who lived happily with his family. His mother, his father and his older twin brother. A healthy and cheerful boy who had endless energy, so much energy that he seemed to have sucked all of his brother's energy.
Amane and Tsukasa were born as twins, and unfortunately Amane was born with medical complications that the medicine of the time could not treat. He was going to die.
Tsukasa, however, did not know this yet, and wanted to make his brother happy at any cost. Any cost. And on a day of playing, he found something hidden beneath his house. Something sunken and forgotten, something impure and evil. An entity, a god.
Tsukasa was afraid of losing the ball that Amane had lent him, thinking that his brother would think bad things about him. A child of that age was already certain that others would curse him for the slightest mistake possible. Where is that normal?
Continuing, Tsukasa learned to make small deals, exchanges with the entity. They were friends! Tsukasa taught it to speak, perhaps it even imitated his voice. But the price of the wishes could increase, and would.
One day, little Tsukasa heard that his brother's condition was very advanced and that it would not be possible to cure him. What should he do upon hearing such tragic news? Play with his brother until they got tired? Spend all the remaining time together? No, Tsukasa had other plans.
Exchange his life for his brother's.
And so it was. On their 4th birthday, both twins were fine, their parents were happy to see them both alive and healthy. Tsukasa knew it was his last moment with them, he made the most of it and in the end, he wanted to hear from his brother's mouth one last "I love you". A confirmation perhaps?
Did Amane ever say that he loved Tsukasa? Or was it so obvious that it didn't even need to be said?
Perhaps to a child who suffered unintentional neglect nothing would be obvious.
Tsukasa heard a voice calling him, coming from a dark room - the light was just off - but why did it seem so gloomy with that hole in the floor and the sinister voice coming from it?
Silly, it was a voice similar to his, wasn't it? After all, he was the one who taught that thing to speak.
The wish had been granted, Amane was healthy, and now Tsukasa had to pay the price. Without regrets the boy agreed to let himself go, he had gotten what he wanted. His brother was well and healthy, and alive. And most of all, happy. What more could Tsukasa ask for?
The boy then jumps into the hole, having some certainties in his head, and one of them was that his brother hated him. It was okay to leave, Amane didn't like him anyway, maybe his parents thought the same. It would be better for everyone, wouldn't it?
---
Tumblr media
The shuffling of time makes everything uncertain. At some point Tsukasa just found himself alone, lonely, a half of a mirror lost in the immensity of his own house, which was completely empty.
Maybe not always empty.
The supernatural was taking over the surroundings as well. And at some point before, that child had been beneath it all, seeing lost, fallen women and a young man who feared the same fate.
Somehow he left that place, and he carried with him the reason for that suffering.
Tsukasa was alone - not so alone actually - in a giant house.
Over time, some people would come to live in the House, and they would get there and soon die, but they would never leave.
The price of desires, the thirst to have something accomplished.
Tsukasa saw all of this. He saw the thirst for desire and all, all the brutal deaths.
How would this affect the mind of such a young child? The development of a child of this age is usually rapid, they learn things in a short time.
Now think, a child is constantly seeing violence, what can he take away from this situation? That violence was common.
Violence was common and was the consequence of human actions, and of course, a way to get what he wanted. Created by a megalomaniac entity who wanted to perhaps have control over humanity again, using that boy as an escape valve and also protection.
Tsukasa saw deaths with a worrying frequency, an amount that no one would like to see.
Not only that, who knows what insanities were going on in his thoughts fused with the entity. Tsukasa was never a child with conventional acts, one false act and he could go down a bad path.
Combine all of this with insecurities, low self-esteem and worrying altruism. The result was little Tsukasa Yugi who was alone in the house and served as bait for the mouth of a deep well.
---
Tumblr media
One day two teenagers broke into the house, chasing a child's voice. Kou Minamoto and Nene Yashiro entered the Red House in search of a (possible) lost child.
I won't go into detail and explain what happens in this arc. The point is that Tsukasa discovers that his sacrifice had been in vain, since Amane was going to kill him and die afterwards.
Silly Amane! Always ruining everything by himself!
Imagine spending 6 months in isolation, seeing constant deaths, human greed, suffering and terror, only to discover in the end that it was all in vain. That's what Tsukasa felt.
And besides that, he felt an enormous desire to know more about Amane, how and why he acted like that? We still try to decipher what goes on in that boy's head to this day.
What did Tsukasa take away from all this? The normalization of violence.
Deaths were no longer scary or grotesque, they were common and part of life (a part of his life). How can you be afraid of something you have become friends with?
Tsukasa Yugi, the boy who comes to befriend death.
Tumblr media
---
Tsukasa merged further with the entity over time, and lost his humanity. He was a supernatural now.
But he was still Tsukasa.
He just grew up with a trauma instilled in his head, and death by his side. We don't know how his family treated him after all this, but apparently it wasn't very good. Besides Amane treating him controversially, imagine the confusion.
And when he was killed, it was the moment he saw his brother show feelings the most.
And there he learned that people reveal what they really feel when they stop holding back. He learned that violence was normal after seeing so many deaths in that house. He knew exactly what to do to get what he wanted. And he was also friends with death.
That's why Tsukasa is the way he is. Tsukasa Yugi has always been Tsukasa Yugi, he just grew up traumatized and experienced absurd things that led him to think and act like that.
It's still possible to see moments of humanity in him, what Tsukasa learned as a human was still present in his being. He is a kind, selfless and caring boy above all, and even if in a distorted way, he never stopped showing it.
Tsukasa is Tsukasa.
Tumblr media
Ohh boy that was long. I hope I managed to prove some point after so much writing, I'm horrible at organizing my thoughts.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it and can share your own opinions too :)

HANAKO * ˚ ✦
"happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you!" you said, while holding a box of donuts as you gave them to him.
the girl's bathroom was sunlit and warm, as warm as hanako felt when you greeted him.
even a simple 'happy birthday' from you was already okay for him, but with donuts too ?! hanako felt so, happy.
"a-ah! [name]?! you got this for me?" he questioned while you nodded a yes with a smile, pushing the box further into him in hopes that he would finally accept it.
"yes! just for you, since it's your special day after all." you answered him.
he finally accepted the box, fuzzy feelings felt in his heart. you remembered his birthday and spent it with him..
"thank you.." hanako said while lowering his hat, attempting to cover his reddening face.
taking notice of this, you giggle. "no problem! i need to get going now, happy birthday again!" you said while going out the bathroom, flashing one more smile leaving hanako speechless.
he wishes for more memorable moments with you.
extra: behind the door of the bathroom, kou and nene were hiding and once you came out you immediately told them everything that happened. except you weren't being secret at all. your voice could clearly be heard by hanako.
TSUKASA * ˚ ✦
"happy birthda— mmf!" your greeting was cut off by tsukasa immediately hugging you so tight, you were losing air!
you quickly pushed him off, catching some air while tsukasa stood there quite confused.
"h-happy birthday, i hope you enjoy your day and please, don't hug do tight." you greeted him with a tired smile. "awh! but i wanna hug you tight! so you won't go away!" he whined
"why would i ever go away? i'll always be here for you." you giggled while embracing him once more in your arms.
buutt, he still hugged you quite tightly, softer than before.
it was evident he would never want to lose you.

I can’t do this.

Why can’t we ever be happy? Why can’t THEY ever be happy? Why can’t HE ever be happy???
Literally yesterday ago I saw the very sweet and innocent Yugi twins bday twitter banner and everyone was going wild over it, omg Yugi fluff we needed that.
And just this morning I wake up, go to Twitter and see everyone celebrating the Yugi twins’ very happy and fluffy bday, no angst attached except for the Hanako icon. ( He’s always angsty )
I walk away for a second, come back, pick up my phone go to Twitter, and see this.
Aidalro has canon interfere with everything.
On the twins’ birthday? Really?
Plz, give us a break. A break from angst. 😭
I cannot even make sense of this banner.

He looks even moodier than before bro.

Idk if anyone has asked for these headcanons before, but ok. Do you have any headcanons about the Yugi family and what the twins' relationship was like back then and with their parents?
Am I finally answering this? I think I am
First off I wanna say I am sooooo sorry that I took so long to get around to this one, as I’ve said before I’m not rly an expert on all the Yugi lore (like I’ve read the Red House arc but I was primarily focused on Kou and Katakuri lol) and I was a bit worried abt mischaracterizing them. But it’s not uncommon for my headcanons to stretch canon, that’s part of what makes headcanons fun. So walk with me here and we’re gonna get silly (actually it will probably be angsty bcuz it’s the Yugis but walk with me nonetheless)
Tumblr media
• Starting from the very beginning, I imagine the twins were born prematurely which eventually led to Amane’s health issues
• Tsukasa was able to tough it out but Amane never quite recovered, he came out with more complications and had to be taken into special care immediately
• For children aged 0-2 with chronic health problems, you’re supposed to give them the max amount of attention and reassurance, namely with physical contact
• I like to think this is what led to the twins being so physically affectionate with each other and with their other friends later on. Amane’s parents absolutely smothered him with affection to help him thrive and they naturally did the same with Tsukasa to ensure he stayed healthy, and so he wouldn’t feel left out
• Therefore the twins grew up viewing physical touch as the ultimate way to express love, it’s their love language
• That scene during their third birthday when Tsukasa asks Amane if he loves him was the first time Amane ever told Tsukasa he loves him, he thought it was obvious so it never crossed his mind to say it out loud. Later on, Tsukasa’s need for direct reassurance gave Amane issues with verbally expressing his feelings. It’s much easier for him to show than tell, and his feelings towards Tsukasa became very complicated after The Incident™️, so putting his thoughts into words became a struggle. I am a firm believer in the autistic Amane headcanon so I think that plays a role here, along with him abruptly having to hide his deeper feelings once Tsukasa came back. Even if he were able to verbalize his feelings, it wouldn’t be appropriate to since the situation was so complex and he wasn’t rly decisive on whether this new thing was his brother or not
• I’ve seen the headcanon that their parents were high school sweethearts and I absolutely love that, I also see them as a girlboss x malewife ship (I know I slander that trope a lot but in this case I mean it in a Gomez and Morticia Addams way)
• Amane gets his autism from their father and Tsukasa gets his adhd from their mother
• Their mom would make them homemade donuts a lot which is why they’re Amane’s favorite food
• They never had any proper pets but they did have several yard cats. Unfortunately most of them turned into sacrifices for the entity ://
• Their household became very tense when Tsukasa returned. Their mother began to struggle with mental illness and would lash out a lot, scolding Tsukasa for very basic things (like if she even thought he was looking at her weird she would yell at him)
• Their father tried to make up for this by devoting extra time to bonding with Tsukasa, unfortunately he also had an off-feeling about the whole situation but he tried to push it aside and focus on being a good dad (which caused a lot of arguments between him and Mama Yugi)
• This led to Amane being somewhat ignored, which was an abrupt change as he was the one who used to get all the attention with his illness. His parents would take him out every now and then to do things without Tsukasa but that just made him feel awkward, and most of the time at home the only person to pay him any attention was his brother
• He grew up to be a massive introvert because of this combined with his autism already making it hard to connect with his peers. While Tsukasa gained a lot of popularity for his loud personality, Amane easily fell into the background. He didn’t mind it all that much but it made him very lonely
• They stopped having family dinners around the time the twins hit age 5, after that they only had them for birthdays and holidays and they were very tense and uncomfortable. Amane would always ask to be excused early
• The twins would share a bed a lot up to age three because Tsukasa was very clingy, ofc they couldn’t do it all the time tho bcuz of Amane’s sickness. After Tsukasa came back though, Amane became scared to share a room with him. He would never turn him away, but he’d stay up all night watching Tsukasa to detect any unusual behavior
• As the years went on, Amane’s paranoia became less convenient. He eventually had to give in and just sleep whenever his brother wanted to stay over. Subconsciously, he began to view Tsukasa’s presence as a comfort, and when he became a supernatural he was unable to sleep without his brother in the same building. Seeing as supernaturals don’t need sleep, this went on for decades until Tsukasa returned. Their reunion was terrifying, but Amane slept like a abt that night
• They shared their whole lives together, it would be impossible for Amane not to have some attachment to Tsukasa. But he knows something hasn’t been right with his brother since he came back. Because of this, he feels guilty every time he catches himself laughing too freely at one of Tsukasa’s jokes or stacking up extra pillows for their sleepovers. His love for Tsukasa feels like a betrayal to the brother he lost all those years ago
• With their parents so dysfunctional, it was only natural that the twins clung to each other. They tried to get out of the house a lot to avoid their tense home life, going to festivals and movies (unfortunately Tsukasa and movie theaters do not pair well together)
• I know their dynamic is far from sunshine and roses but on a lighter note, I imagine their more casual moments to look similar to the dynamic of Dipper and Mabel from Gravity Falls
• Amane: Tsukasa, do you believe in ghosts?
Tsukasa: I believe you’re a huge dork
• Like Amane being very serious and academic while Tsukasa tries to cling to their childhood. Amane just wants to get out of that house but Tsukasa is there to make sure he doesn’t rush the growing up process
• Now picture them with the Peanut Butter & Jelly Halloween costumes
• Yk that little thing Tsukasa does where he tackles Amane with a hug every time he sees him?? Yeah he definitely did that in the hallways at school. It was mortifying for poor Amane
• They strike me as one of those families where the parents have very intense front seat arguments every time they drive while the kids sit in the backseat like 🧍🏻🧍🏻
• Their parents were always very cautious of Amane overexerting himself or getting sick again so they wouldn’t let him go on school field trips or play outside a lot. Tsukasa, however, did NOT hold the same conviction and would regularly drag Amane into dangerous situations. It was kind of nice for Amane to have someone that didn’t treat him like he was made of glass all the time
• The twins never talked abt girls or anything like that growing up bcuz Tsukasa wasn’t rly interested in romance, so when he realized Hanako had smth going on with Nene there was a moment where he pulled him aside to have the very serious “I thought you were gay??” talk
• Tsukasa knew all of Amane’s secret hiding spots at their house and vice versa
• Amane preferred sport related games like soccer and baseball but Tsukasa liked to play with dolls so he could make up really convoluted backstories for them
• Sometimes they would play chef where Tsukasa would make the most disgusting food combinations he could think of and force Amane to eat it
• One of their fonder family memories is when Papa Yugi convinced Mama Yugi to take the twins to a carnival. They all had a blast tho Mama Yugi was a bit on edge. Tsukasa got on a sugar high and dragged Amane onto a rollercoaster
Okay I think this is all I’ve got for now, I know these were mainly abt the twins so I’m sorry if you wanted more for the parents😓 They give me rancid vibes idk how to explain it. At least they're hot tho. Thank you for the ask btw these were fun to make!! :D

The melancholy love of the Yugi twins
Tumblr media
I wonder why baby Tsukasa feels so rejected by Amane, hate is such a strong word especially for a child so young to have knowledge about her and believe that she is hated by someone she loves so much.
The love of twins is more intense than the love of ordinary brothers, there is a connection, a bond, born together and sharing the best and worst moments of life, discovering the world little by little, of course each of them in their own way. . It's like you were born with your best friend by your side. (Although unfortunately this is not always the case).
Tumblr media
Their love transcends and surpasses death, "I will remember you as long as I breathe, no, beyond when I breathe"
A 4-year-old child who gives up her own life because her older twin will no longer be by her side, even though he tried so hard to give him the best he could, what does Amane like? I'll look for it, I'll give it to him! And the room was slowly filling up with toys, plants, animals and books that talked about the adventures of space, because Amane likes the stars, one day he will look for her and I want him to do it, even if I don't be here to see.

Seeing his brother in agony, always in bed, always so discouraged, he committed himself to changing that, he decided alone. And he did what he could, for such a small boy, his gestures were so tender, it's a shame he didn't realize something
Amane didn't want any of that, he wanted to be with Tsukasa.
Why did Tsukasa think he hated him? Just because Amane was sad and finally managed to say what he felt? That he wanted to be able to run and play around like him?
Tumblr media
At what point did he feel so rejected by his brother that he decided it was okay to leave because Amane hated him, he would live happily without me. Why does such a little boy have to feel this way? Amane did her best to be with Tsukasa, whether reading the books he brought together, or being by his side even without having the strength to do so.
Tumblr media
He felt that way… And he decided that he wanted to celebrate his birthday for the last time with his brother, he wanted to hear for the last time, even if it was perhaps the first, that his brother loved him. It was the last thing he wanted to hear before leaving, knowing for sure that he wouldn't come back.
Tumblr media
How could he be sure that his departure would be more of a relief than a pain? He couldn't, he was just a child who felt rejected and did the best he could to show Amane that he loved him, even if Amane never knew the sacrifice he made for him.
He wouldn't know.
Tumblr media
So, after making that choice he believed he had done the best, but then Nene and Kou appear and tell him that his older brother, the one he fought so hard to make happy, killed him and took his own life in followed.
Tumblr media
It was there that Tsukasa received the first stab.
How could I? I did everything for him, I gave my life in exchange for his, and he took it from me again? Why?
Why?
Who was Amane truly? Did he really hate me?
Tumblr media
Maybe this gave him the certainty of the truth he wanted so badly to escape.. Amane hates me, but does he really hate me? What if I bring him his favorite ball? What if I give you a new book? Will he still hate me? Perhaps these were his thoughts.
Then suddenly
"Amane Yugi died at the age of 13 before killing his younger brother"
He really hates me. You don't kill someone you love, even Tsukasa knows that.
He came back, and he came back to understand Amane, he didn't come back because he believed he needed Tsukasa, or because he loved him, he came back understanding that his sacrifice had been in vain. And by that time, Tsukasa had already been influenced enough by that creature inside the house. A little boy who is discovering the world now, and whoever introduces him to this world is a monster who enjoys the lives of living creatures at his pleasure.
"Let's go back, I want to see how Amane is going to kill me"
Tumblr media
This phrase is more melancholic than disturbing, what many people say. A little boy who doesn't cry, but has strong resentments for the brother he fought so hard to have his love, and all he got was more rejection. The thing inside him just pushed him further and further, because maybe he was planning something and he clearly wanted to use the boy for it.
Then he comes back, but he's not the same anymore.
Who is Tsukasa now? He's still here, but why? He needs a reason to stay, to come back. He still wants to understand Amane, he still wants to feel loved by him.
Tumblr media
There is no way of knowing what happened between them for a long time as it was not shown to us, but even though Tsukasa is sometimes so cruel, his innocence transcends. Because is it half Tsukasa who lives there, and the other half? Well, he doesn't have a name yet, but that other half is that monster that took him from his brother. He is always happy to meet Amane, hugs him whenever he can, and is still so tender with him sometimes.

But does Amane think about Tsukasa?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I tend to think that the Tsukasa with the seal is just his yorishiro, while the real one is that other one who appears to Nene every now and then, always with such a tender look. It's as if this is really that same little boy, he's there still looking out for his brother even after having gone through all this, still with that melancholy look.

Tsukasa's love transcends, it is visible and palpable, he was not made to be the monster they force us to think he is, he became what he found necessary to be.
Tumblr media
Who is the person who cares about Tsukasa?
Maybe, all he needs is just a hug from Amane and the truth he wants to hear
"I love you Tsukasa, I want you to stay because you are the most important person to me, even if everything is destroyed, I want you by my side, as it should be"
Because none of this would have happened if Tsukasa felt loved by Amane
"I can't sacrifice myself, because he will be unhappy without me, because he will sacrifice himself with me, I want Amane to live and be happy, if he is happy with me around , so I stay"
