I have So Many thoughts about Scum Villain I have so many feelings I am overflowing with Them I am drowning in it I am dying
Shen Qingqiu telling everyone (including himself!) that he didn’t mourn for Binghe, okay? He did not mourn for him! He just repaired his first sword and buried it in his back garden so he could sit by it for hours at a time! He just felt so guilty that he concocted an entire elaborate ploy to off himself but still live so that Luo Binghe could get revenge on him! He just stopped eating because he didn’t have to eat in the first place and food tastes bland when it’s not made by Binghe! He called out Binghe’s name and compared Gongyi Xiao to Binghe and thought about Binghe at least once every three sentences, but he was Not mourning! He was just vibing, okay, you don’t get it-
The extra where Shen Qingqiu sees Luo Binghe during the five years he was dead. And Luo Binghe is working diligently and always busy and makes food everyday like he’s waiting for Shen Qingqiu to wake up. And he says he doesn’t know how much longer he can take it, but he takes it for years and would’ve taken it for even longer if he had to. And he holds Shen Qingqiu’s body to feed him qi and Shen Qingqiu recognizes it as the way he held Luo Binghe when he got hurt. And even though loterally everyone thought Luo Binghe was doing awful things to Shen Qingqiu’s body, all evidence points to him just holding it. Luo Binghe never touched Shen Qingqiu inappropriately and he was so sad and he was so broken.
The part where Luo Binghe says “Theoretically, how would someone go about showing another person that they have strong feelings for them?”
Mobei-jun: “Have you tried beating him up three times a day?”
Luo Binghe: “Mobei-jun, you are uninvited from answering.”
Shang Qinghua thinking about Peerless Cucumber everytime he gets insulted and getting nostalgic about it, but then pretending he only “just remembered” the username when he actually meets Shen Qingqiu and finds out he’s the one Shang Qinghua has been fondly remembering for literal years. You only remembered just barely, huh, Shang Qinghua? Yeah, okay, sure…
Shen Qingqiu was purposefully pretending to be stupid so that Liu Qingge would beat up his own Bai Zhan Peak disciples. Shen Qingqiu finds out they were bullying Luo Binghe and vows to get revenge, he was purposefully playing dumb so that Liu Qingge would volunteer someone to come up and then he’d go, “whoop, haha, silly me, you were right, Shidi :)”
Shang Qinghua comes back from a trip and everyone is talking about how weird Shen Qingqiu is acting and he’s like “What? What happened? How is he acting strange?” and Yue Qingyuan replies “He had a peaceful conversation with me for two hours” and Shang Qinghua immediately goes “He’s cursed, he’s definitely cursed, is he dying??”
Everyone else: “Shen-shixiong is being nice to us…”
Yue Qingyuan: “Is there any way to get Shen-shidi back to normal?”
Everyone else, internally: “Maybe, but I’m not looking for it.”
The entire Holy Mausoleum section. It’s stuck with me for two years. I love all of it. From beginning to end. The entire section, the moment Shen Qingqiu wakes up in a coffin to the moment Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe get out. All of it. Every single thing that happens is comedy gold and I will never get over it.
But of course there are highlights.
Shen Qingqiu, knocking on a coffin he can’t open, trying to hide from the things wandering around trying to kill him: “Excuse me, may I come in?”
Tianlang-jun, inside that coffin: “Sure.”
Shen Qingqiu just casually carting his boy Binghe around. Hanging out. Trying not to die. Getting stabbed multiple times and having plants grow out of his legs. The usual.
The Old Huan Hua Palace Master being a human stick. At first, Shen Qingqiu is like “omg Binghe is insane.” Then, after the Old Palace Master acts creepy towards Binghe and kind of implies creepiness about Binghe’s mom, Shen Qingqiu goes: “No, wait, yeah, this guy deserves this and worse.”
Shen Qingqiu: sits up in his coffin
Meng Mo: “I can’t help you wake up Luo Binghe.”
Shen Qingqiu: lays back down in his coffin
Meng Mo: “What are you- Are you going back to sleep?!”
Shen Qingqiu calling Zhuzhi-lang “Xizhi-lang” and Zhuzhi-lang tripping over his own feet then just sighing and letting him do whatever
Tianlang-jun: “Why do you know so much about the Holy Mausoleum?”
Shen Qingqiu:
Shen Qingqiu: “LOOK a DISTRACTION!”
Luo Binghe: “Why do you know so much about the Holy Mausoleum?”
Shen Qingqiu: “I read about it in one of Qing Jing Peak’s books.”
Luo Binghe, previous head disciple who has all of the books that have ever been on Qing Jing Peak memorised: “I see. I don’t recall that one.”
Shen Qingqiu:
Shen Qingqiu: “Oh hey look, a distraction-“
Tianlang-jun asking Shen Qingqiu to help him up and then his arm popping off.
Tianlang-jun just generally being the weirdest fucking guy. Tries to be a wingman for his nephew. Helped conspire with his nephew to bring a dead guy back to life. Has been stuck under a mountain and says it was for ten years, despite the fact that it was almost certainly longer than that. Sings the song about Shen Qingqiu fucking his son and then bluntly asks “Did you fuck my son?” Says “I was looking forward to meeting you” specifically because of the song about Shen Qingqiu fucking his son.
Tianlang-jun, just in general, is one of my favourite parts of Scum Villain. Like, he’s so… he’s my poor little meow meow. He is my scrungly. He literally falls apart and is just kind of like “Again? Dang.” A bunch of cultivators show up to thwart him and he’s like “I expected more of you.” He realizes that Shen Qingqiu, Zhuzhi-lang, and Luo Binghe were all in the same bed together and is like “Does Shen Qingqiu always need two others?” He walks in on that scene, only seeing Zhuzhi-lang and Shen Qingqiu, and says “Continue, please, don’t let me interrupt.” Finds out his wifey wasn’t apart of the plot to trap him under the mountain and even tried to save him and immediately melts like the marshmallow-hearted maiden he is.
Pre-trapped-under-a-mountain Tianlang-jun is a treat too. Finds his nephew and immediately says “You’re so ugly. Have a bunch of soldiers and land. Bye.” Meets Su Xiyan and becomes insufferable. “Zhuzhi-lang, am I ugly? Zhuzhi-lang, don’t you think my face is worth more than two silver pieces? Zhuzhi-lang, human women are so different than what I’ve read. Zhuzhi-lang, be honest, am I obnoxious?” He literally tries to barter over how attractive his face is and is legitimately pleased when Su Xiyan says it’s worth a gold coin. Zhuzhi-lang describes him as being the sugar baby and Su Xiyan being his sugar daddy, but Tianlang-jun not only doesn’t mind, he even seems to enjoy it. Zhuzhi-lang describes him as a pure-hearted maiden falling for a roguish cultivator. Zhuzhi-lang has the terrible realization that, in his own metaphor, he’s the handmaiden who follows her innocent lady around trying to keep her out of trouble.
My favourite part will always be the reveal though. The reveal that, after a whole novel dreading it, Luo Binghe is the antagonist. Luo Binghe purposefully led these cultivators and monks and priests to Tianlang-jun and let them all think Tianlang-jun was the one fuelling Xin Mo. Tianlang-jun says “I can’t even fuel Zhuzhi-lang’s human form, how could I fuel Xin Mo?” and everyone feels like they were thrust under cold water. Luo Binghe stands there and smiles and adjusts his sleeves and doesn’t care because none of these cultivators can touch him, most of them were taken out during the fight with Tianlang-jun, and Luo Binghe has basically already won.
He says that he hates Shen Qingqiu choosing others over him. Shen Qingqiu always chooses someone or something else. Shen Qingqiu always leaves when he asks him to stay. Luo Binnghe says that he’s going to make sure Shen Qingqiu has no other choice. If Luo Binghe isn’t his first choice, then Binghe will become his only choice. He’s willing to destroy the human realm and the demon realm both so that Shen Qingqiu will only be able to choose him.
One of the monks is like “That’s kind of fucked up. You’re just going to make him hate you.”
Luo Binghe: “Shizun can hate me all he wants, as long as he never leaves. And he won’t be able to leave.”
Luo Binghe is the ultimate villain. He is literally unstoppable. He is almost totally unkillable. He’s the final boss, but he’s a boss who’s always scripted to win. He’s more powerful than all of them combined and he’s gone actually insane because he can’t control Xin Mo. Xin Mo is feeding all his insecurities and Luo Binhe decided that the cure was to tie Shen Qingqiu to him with a leash too tight to escape.
He is absolutely terrifying, in this moment. He’s insane. He’s outright telling everyone that he’s destroying everything they love because if he doesn’t, Shen Qingqiu might choose one of them over him.
He’s - so - cool!
Luo Binghe is always cool, he’s so badass, but this moment just cements how absolutely unhinged he is!! He is insane!! He is manipulative and silver-tongued and adaptable!! He is grabbing the narrative with both hands and forcing it to be the way he wants it to be! He’s so cool, he’s so very cool, and I get chills when I read this part, he’s too cool!!
And I’ve already made a long post about how meaningful it is that Shen Qingqiu ultimately does choose Luo Binghe. Even out of a world-ending event, he still chooses Luo Binghe. Shen Qingqiu only didn’t choose him before because he didn’t know that was an option. For the rest of the novel and all the extras that take place post-canon, he seeks out Binghe. He’s the sticky one.
He says he hurt Luo Binghe’s feelings by saying he didn’t want to sleep in his bed and he’s upset because he was going to give in if Binghe just pushed a bit further! He thinks Binghe is in danger and takes him to Qing Jing Peak and tells everyone not to bully him and tells Luo Binghe that he can beat up the Bai Zhan Peak disciples as much as he wants, as long as they don’t die. He patches him up and just generally sticks to him. In the extra where Binghe shrinks, he takes baby Binghe everywhere. He holds his hand and he’s obsessed with how cute he is and he can’t get over how cute he is and he wants to show off to everyone else how cute he is. He’s having the time of his life, and only gets upset when everyone thinks baby Binghe is his child because Luo Binghe is at least eight, when would he have had him? And he’s a man, that too.
(Ming Fan: “I just assumed Luo Binghe was a demon and demons could do what they wanted.”)
Shen Qingqiu travels everywhere with Binghe and teases Binghe and likes admiring Binghe because Binghe is so handsome and charming and wonderful and-
The succubus extra where he goes to a succubus’ cave with Liu Qingge and is too flustered to look at the naked women everywhere and is very impressed by Liu Qingge’s disinterest in all of them. Gets his fortune read because he thought it might be fun and is like “…yeah, okay, sure, like this is true” and it turns out to be completely true. Thinks Madam Meiyin is weird because she never even officially joined Binghe’s harem, what a weirdo, who wouldn’t want to join Binghe’s harem? Pushes Liu Qingge into a pond to help him get over sex pollen.
Shen Qingqiu is such a madlad. He transmigrates and is like “I’m not going to be stupid and panic and make everyone suspicious of me 🙄” then becomes the most suspicious man on the planet by treating his martial siblings and disciples slightly better than dirt. He’s as obsessed with Luo Binghe as Binghe is with him, but pretends (poorly) that he isn’t. Agrees to do what Binghe wants to do while admitting that Binghe is definitely manipulating him, but Binghe is so cute, how can he say no? Thinks his little white lotus disciple is as pure as a maiden while Luo Binghe is over there desperately trying not to get a boner.
Shen Qingqiu never figures out that Luo Binghe messed up excersizes on purpose as an excuse to cling to him. It doesn’t even cross his mind. He thinks Luo Binghe was just clumsy. He thinks it’s a bit weird, since Luo Binghe is so good as everything else, but figures it’s just something Binghe was going through. Literally never crosses his mind that it was purposeful. Doesn’t even pop up as an option. He remains completely oblivious to that, even after Luo Binghe literally tells him he’s been horny for him since he was a disciple. Shen Qingqiu just does not realize.
I also really like MoShang, I promise, I find their dynamic to be honestly quite sweet, especially since Mobei-jun is just a spoiled princess who isn’t used to having to ask for what he wants. Luo Binghe and Mobei-jun respect each other and might even be a bit fond of each other, but good God, Mobei-jun, do not give me romantic advice, I swear. Shang Qinghua is constantly like “Cucumber-bro is so stupid, how can he not notice Binghe’s feelings?” and Mobei-jun is behind him slowly counting to five thousand in an attempt not to punch anymore holes through the walls. Great dynamic, 10/10, at least Shen Qingqiu eventually realizes that Binghe’s into him, Shang Qinghua doesn’t get the hint.
I like Yue Qingyuan being like “My sword is my life. Quite literally, it is my life. Accidentally combined my life force in my sword, whoops, now I lose a few years everytime I pull my sword out ¯\ _(ツ)_/¯”
Qi Qingqi is constantly like “Shen Qingqiu, the most annoying man I know. I would sell him for a half-eaten, unsalted tortilla chip. I hate this man’s guts. He is staring at my darling prized disciple but not even in a horny way. He is obsessed with Luo Binghe and never stops bragging about him. He acts like he’s delicate just to get out of having to ride a horse. He’s so lame, so cringe, a loser, the worst.” And near the end she’s like “I guess Shen-shixiong isn’t actually the absolute worst man ever- What do you mean he chose to date the heavenly demon disciple who not only caused him to die, but also threatened to destroy the entire world and everyone on it?! Shen Qingqiu is the stupidest piece of shit man I swear I’m going to murder him with my bare hands and no body will blame me, they’ll probably thank me-“
Mu Qingfang: “Shen-shixiong is being… kind to me? Shen-shixiong… smiled? Shen-shixiong is… being the most reckless man alive, oh no, Shen-shixiong, no!”
Liu Qingge, hanging up pictures of Shen Qingqiu: “I hate Shen Qingqiu.”
All of Luo Binghe’s wives are in sorry states. Well, all of them aside from Ning Yingying, who is living her best life as number two Shizun supporter (number one is Luo Binghe), and Liu Mingyan, who is also living her best life, but by writing porn about her brother’s closest (read: only) friend and a demon. Sha Hualing is in constant suffering because Luo Binghe is a tyrant and also had the gall to ask her for advice on getting into another man’s pants. The Little Palace Mistress was certainly very rude, but Luo Binghe threw her emotional support whip into acid. That’s a bit rude. The others are either dead or Luo Binghe just never notices him because he’s too distracted trying to woo Shen Qingqiu.
Ning Yingying and Liu Mingyan got off lucky. Ning Yingying, especially, really drew the luckiest lot. She went from an airhead who accidentally said things that got her buddy in trouble to a talented cultivator who purposefully says things that get her into fights. Love her picking fights with anyone who badmouths her Shizun. She tried so hard to share the number 1 Shizun fan spot with Luo Binghe, but probably decided that she didn’t want to die and backed off. She apologizes to Luo Binghe because she knows he likes to be the only one to clean Shen Qingqiu’s house. The bestest girl.
Speaking of Bing-ge, I love him. That should be obvious (I wrote a whole fic just to let him be happy) but I really like him. I like when he says “Is this about last time we met? It was on me, Shizun, I swear…” like he didn’t rip Shen Qingqiu’s arm off. I like when he’s fucking pissed that he’s losing and furious that it’s to this weaker, insignificant version of himself who is happy and in love and Shen Qingqiu cares about him and he got to taste that, just briefly, just barely he got to taste how it felt to be loved by Shen Qingqiu, only for a day, he got to feel an ounce of the easy affection and love that didn’t have to lead to sex and that was protective of him instead of expecting him to be protective of them. Shen Qingqiu didn’t expect him to be the strong one, didn’t expect him to be the powerful demon lord, had no expectations at all aside from expecting affection.
And he says “Come with me” like he’s begging for it. He doesn’t understand. He feels like it’s unfair that he didn’t get a loving Shizun. He wants that love. He wants to be chosen. And, ultimately, he leaves, but it just left an impact on me. The way he expected to find a catch but only found that Shen Qingqiu was willing to die for him.
Anyway, all that said, Scum Villain’s pretty okay. I only lie awake thinking about it occasionally. It’s alright.

Silly idea of the day: Shen Qingqiu grills the System for answers about how to avoid the whole Abyss scenario and save his little cabbage favorite disciple until the System very reluctantly offers up the option to transfer the protagonist halo - and all the trials that come with it - to someone else if he pays literally all his points. It's a risky endeavor, but he doesn't see any other way to save Binghe from his suffering/blackening, so he decides to take the risk. After some deliberation he decides to transfer the protagonist halo to Mobei-jun. Based on his memories of PIDW, Mobei-jun isn't the type to be interested in world domination and Shen Qingqiu figures if any kind of wild plot is going to happen to the ice demon, it will be limited to the demon world + maybe Huan Hua Palace and that's it.
The System checks in with Shang Qinghua about what kind of story he would have written for Mobei-jun if he had the choice (SQH is vary of the System and answers 'found family and slowburn romance, maybe with a touch of a coming of age plot' because there's no way the System can make something horrible from that, right?) and accepts Mobei-jun as an alternative.
The protagonist halo is transferred with the click of a button; Luo Binghe loses that special spark that designated him for greatness, but at the same time, he is free of the weight of his fate as well. He's destined to live a life as ordinary as a half-demon cultivator's ever gets.
However, Shen Qingqiu is not required for the new story and keeping a 'troublesome' transmigrator around is too risky for the System, so it decides to swap Shen Yuan and Shen Jiu back. There is a high chance of Shen Jiu dying of qi deviation when he's shoved unceremoniously back into his body (his soul has been fragmented and damaged when the System replaced him with Shen Yuan) which would be the best outcome, as far as the System is concerned, because it would be a natural-looking death that nobody would bother to investigate. It's pure luck that Liu Qingge is lurking around, looking for a chance to thank Shen Qingqiu for saving his life in the caves, and can step in and stabilize Shen Jiu.
At the same time Mobei-jun, in the first hour of being the new protagonist, stumbles into a patch of very specific magic weeds and passes out.
Shen Jiu now knows of the System and has some vague awareness of the person who, as far as he can tell from the incoherent hints the System gave him, was kidnapped against their will and showed into his body and fate for the sake of raising some prophecised emperor of the three realms to power, a plan that was foiled by Shen Jiu's return. He doesn't know why this person acted so strange while in Shen Qingqiu's role (coddling those brats, especially that brat?! What was the stranger thinking??), but the System's remarks make something clear: the stranger knows something about the prophecy and did his best to avoid it, much to the System's displeasure.
So clearly the best course of action is to get them back and question them, somehow. But first Shen Qingqiu is going to Yue Qingyuan and shakes him until he confesses why he left Shen Jiu behind, because if he has to deal with a demon (?) or being that can erase him from existence at a whim, then he wants to know the reason. He's facing almost certain death here, it's the least he's owed!!
While Shen Qingqiu is grilling his soon-to-be-beloved-again brother and trying to come up with a way to keep being a decent teacher despite himself, just in case, on Qian Cao a young, amnesiac rogue cultivator wakes up. He was found in the borderlands, almost ripped to shreds by a herd of man-eating boars. He doesn't remember his name or his past or even his cultivation, but Mu Qingfang estimates him to be in his twenties. He has a very well-developed fire root and a sunny complexion, but he is haunted by dreams of ice, so they decide to call him Beilun (悖论 - paradox) for the time being. When Beilun recovers he asks to stay in the sect so he can learn proper cultivation again and after some rigorous testing - a balanced nature between physical and spiritual cultivation, not much of a head for arts, but excellent instincts for politics, trade and strategy - Yue Qingyuan snatches him up as a personal, soon-to-be head disciple (also maybe brand new adopted little brother, because Yue Qi can't help himself). Shen Qingqiu is initially unhappy about having to share Yue Qingyuan's brotherly affection with someone new, but soon warms up to Beilun himself when he realizes how ruthless the young man can be. Second big brother acquired!
Time passes. Shang Qinghua privately mourns for Mobei-jun when word gets back to Cang Qiong that the Northern prince has been missing so long that they wrote him off. His mourning is tinted by guilt, because he keeps getting distracted by the handsome new Qiong Ding head disciple. Yue Beilun is tall and suntanned and scarred, even years later still not fully recovered from whatever befall him on the edge of the demon realm, but every time he smiles at Shang Qinghua it feels like the world comes to a standstill.
So for one there's the glacially slow falling in love between Shang Qinghua and definitely-not-Mobei-jun. There's the forming adopted family with the two disasters in charge + still-absolutely-not-Mobei-jun. There are Shen Qingqiu's persistent attempts at being a good teacher and a better martial brother (with inconsistent degrees of success, but Liu Qingge is discovering a lot of new things about himself as the primary audience of Shen Qingqiu's self-improvement). There's the long search for ways to get Shen Yuan back from the System, which leads to a whole, wacky side-adventure when they learn the truth about Tianlang-jun and set him free while they are there to get the mushrooms.
Of course this New Plot can't happen without some drama. Beilun is accompanying the masters to the Immortal Alliance conference when the Endless Abyss opens up. Luo Binghe almost succumbs to a sever qi deviation when his seal breaks and Beilun rushes in to fight off the monsters attacking the disciples and falls into the Abyss - which is just the thing needed to break the curse on him...
So Cang Qiong is in mourning over the loss of Yue Beilun who many of them assumed will be the next sect leader based on Yue Qingyuan's strong attachment. Luo Binghe is confined to Qian Cao, half under treatment and half under house arrest on account of being half-demon until they can figure out what to do with him. At least the System has relinquished Shen Yuan, now that the mushroom body is grown enough, and after learning how young he is, he becomes the new replacement little brother of the sect leader and the (ex) scum villain, which is weird and confusing, but not in a bad way.
Meanwhile in the demon realm Mobei-jun makes his return (as far as people know he was training all these years in the Endless Abyss and he is monstrously stronger for it), takes over as Northern King and starts solidifying his power base with Tianlang-jun's help (rumors have it that he was the one who broke the Junshang out of his prison, a feat everyone thought impossible). After all, only a fool goes courting when their court is in disarray and now that he remembers all the things Qinghua has done for him, he has eyes for nobody else.
All the while the Old Palace Master watches the shifts in the demon realm and plots a new war against the demons. With such a cold and ruthless rising Northern King looming on the horizon, not to mention the vengeful Tianlang-jun, it shouldn't be difficult to whip the cultivators up into preparing for conflict...

What's your favorite ship ((canon or noncanon) that isn't Kataang?
i have a love for all of the canon ships to be honest. kataang is my absolute favorite by a LONG shot, but i do appreciate and enjoy content for all the other canon couples, so it’s a little difficult to pick just one as my second-runner-up, so i’m gonna be a little extra in answering this and just rant about what i love about each couple (sorry!) 😭
sukka -> they are just so cute. i love the way in which sokka seems to love everything about her and how she appreciates all the silly ways he expresses his love for her. he truly admires her as a warrior despite feeling protective over her safety, and takes pride in the fact that she’s taught him not only combat but a new outlook on the world. they’re true equals with leveled respect for one another, seeing as suki is so quick to follow sokka’s lead in battle and he is quick to utilize her skills. also can’t lie, i love it when fictional boyfriends craft things for their girlfriends out of a genuine show of affection, so him making her a flower necklace and sculpting her out of sand was so sweet (despite how poorly made the sculpture was LMAO, but she still liked it)
yue x sokka -> their doomed lovers drama was done so well in my opinion. yue was a young girl with her whole life planned out for her. she had an arranged marriage set and was about to live the rest of her life confined to the restrictive rules of the northern water tribe. meeting sokka allowed her to experience a taste of freedom and true love before her physical death, and i truly think she was his first love. he loved yue, not the princess she was expected to be. he wanted to protect her not out of duty but because he saw her as someone so valuable and beautiful. and in the end he still has such a strong admiration and love for her, a respect for the sacrifice she made even if it hurts him to think about
maiko -> they make so much sense to me. they’re both emotionally stunted teenagers who grew up in fire nation nobility, and their relationship is put through some dramatic ups and downs as a result. mai had an early childhood crush on him, liking him despite all the ways he narratively “didn’t meet the standards” of the prince he was supposed to be. when they first get together, they’re at different points in their unlearning of the propaganda they were raised in. zuko’s just helped take over ba sing se, a huge win for him and his family, but he’s not content. so him and mai step on each other’s toes for a bit, trying to get used to this new reality in which the fire nation is on a clear path to victory and zuko isn’t quite present in the celebrations. his inner turmoil is something mai doesn’t know how to provide comfort to since he’s trying and failing to find balance between what he’s always wanted and these new morals affecting his perception of it
but as he starts settling in a little, trying to make peace with what’s happened, their relationship is able to get comfortable too. he allows himself to relax with her, momentarily get away from his stressors, and we see her do the same. she smiles more and speaks outside of that monotone pitch and boredom she’s known for, and makes an active effort to cheer him up when something sends him down a negative path, such as the mentioning of the war meeting. of course, she isn’t aware of what exactly is causing this turmoil and likely wouldn’t be able to relate to it herself seeing as she didn’t have her own uncle iroh, but she still tries to meet him there
so although they’re not perfect, largely because zuko is still so angry inside and mai has her own conflict due to her upbringing too, it’s clear that they do have a genuine care for each other
and despite their ups and downs and the fact that she may not fully understand zuko’s reasoning for switching sides in the war, she has enough love for him to not stand in his way. this is his choice and she’s going to allow him to make it, even if that means sacrificing her own safety and position in the fire nation. she saves his life and is thrown into prison, and it’s then that zuko sees just how much he matters to her. she’s not choosing azula. she’s choosing him. and even though she clearly has a lot to unlearn (much like zuko did), i think her being willing to turn away from her friends and, thus, her nation as well is a step in the right direction

Yayyy~!!! Loving this art style and already excited to see more of your version of scum villain~
Poor Shen Qingqiu is in the thick of it and coping as well as he can, but at least his boy is here! Surely this will not have any negative effects of the timeline!
Is Yue Qingyuan going to be constantly crying?
Sorry I'm a bit late to answering the asks! 😅 I'm glad people are enjoying these silly little comics. Yue qingyuan doesn't make a lot of appearances in the comics I have prepared, but since a lot of people pointed it out I decided to keep it as a running gag lmao.

now that In Blossom is over...
i'm going to briefly compare ju jingyi's version of yang caiwei versus zheng hehuizi's version (the first actress) to answer the question of 'is ju jingyi's verson in character according to what we know of yang caiwei in the first two episodes and in childhood flashbacks?'
why? because a lot of people have a reluctance to start this drama due to ju jingyi. i get it, she's not everyone's cup of tea. also, she has a harder task in this drama as the actress that plays the second version of female lead, and many think that she didn't step it up.
but i wanted to throw my thoughts out there in case anyone was willing to give her/the drama a chance. does ju jingyi's version feel in character, and thus, tolerable?
yeah, mostly.
zheng hehuizi's version is just, mature, and sensible. but we know from flashbacks that she wasn't just serious all the time; with her friends, she was cheerful and bright. even at the little kids who bullied her in episode 1, she played a prank on them--showcasing a silly sense of humor and ability to shrug off judgements after years of discrimination. the main reason why she was serious in the first two eps was because she was trying to push pan yue away. (and also she was worried about her sick master.)
ju jingyi's version also was pretty much the same. she was just, smart, and wary of pan yue (rightly so). the reason why she acted extra super cheerful was because she was trying to show to pan yue that she, shangguan zhi, had changed. by doing this, she was hoping to draw his eyes away from her so she could investigate. that's why i accepted the fact that ju jingyi's version could be almost too much with the quirky acts; it was initially for a good reason. once she believed in pan yue, her character wasn't so quirky anymore, because she didn't need to be over-the-top about everything. once the quirkyness disappeared, she felt more attuned to the first version we saw.
so, in terms of whether it's in character and coherent, i would say yeah, it feels enough. it's not perfect, but it's just enough to get through (though the last parts of the drama didn't give much to her character...i say more on this near the end.)
the reality is we really didn't get to see much of zheng hehuizi's version so we really don't have that much as a frame of reference. in fact, we barely get flashbacks to when yang caiwei struggled after her parents died, and her learning coroner skills from her master. because of this, i'm forced by the story to just accept that ju jingyi's version is accurate/correct.
which isn't all bad. ju jingyi's version have several shining moments. (one of my fav scenes of her is when she's drunk and confesses she's not "shangguan zhi" but pan yue doesn't believe her, so she stares at pan yue achingly with these wide regretful sad eyes. we know her conflict, we know why she can't tell him the truth yet! it's heartbreaking.)
but what i've noticed, especially toward the end of the drama, is that ju jingyi's version actually doesn't get that much time to show her character's interiority. we don't get to see her, just by herself, thinking and feeling. the most obvious example of this is when she's in jail! and has been tortured!! and we see NOTHING except she's leaning against the wall and ignoring the food and jail guards. no thoughts, no words about her situation or reminiscing about her family or her master or concerns about her friends or pan yue??? she might die, does she not feel regretful that she hasn't brought justice to her family???? she just silently endures. that might be a testament to her strength of character, but as a viewer, i'm scratching my head. i'm not that compelled by her just sitting there. i need her to say or do something.
now, with the drama all wrapped up, i can definitely say that pan yue has so much more growth and growing than yang caiwei. even his relationship with his father gets a little redemption arc. pan yue becomes the biggest main character. yang caiwei, on the other hand, kind of stops growing once she and pan yue gets together.
whether it's by writing or her own acting or editing, yang caiwei ultimately is an underutilized character. we could've seen more of her character's growth to perhaps appreciate ju jingyi's version more. but we didn't get that, for better or for worse. i liked both versions of yang caiwei in the end. just wanted a bit more for her.

Since jealousy is apparently the key to getting wukong to realize his feelings, and you said he didn't even realize at all in rin rin route; imagine that in saving Yue macaque kills her father, becomes the new heir cause he's Helen of Troy there, and (since I don't think Mac or Shanzha would go back to be heartbroken, but also macaque doesnt hate wukong so no reason to completely cut contact) ffm get informed by letter Yue is saved and about prince macaque. Wukong of course will visit cause he misses his "bestie" and see just how popular Mac is.
then he realize his feelings and that he missed his chance and also feel horribly guilty for feeling like this in front of his wife
To answer your question directly concerning the scenario you wrote out: yes. Wukong would be filled with a horrible mixture of jealousy/yearning/guilt. But hey, he’s not alone. RinRin would be feeling the exact same thing. What a pair they make.
But things wouldn’t exactly play out that way post RinRin Route.
(More below)
So, while the death of Yue’s Father is a certain thing after Macaque and Shanzha return to the Land of Eternal Snow, it’s a bit more complicated than that. Their intention was only to grab Yue and lead a quiet together in some corner where no one would bother them. Things happened which I won’t expand on since it’s a major spoiler to Queen of the Mountain. A lot of people died (including Yue’s Father).
After the dust settled, there were only a few members of the clan left and an empty clan head seat. And no, Macaque didn’t take it. Shanzha did. It’s her bloodline right as the oldest surviving member of the main line. Technically, it should be Yue who is next in line as the daughter of the Clan Heir, but she was too young.
Shanzha took the seat of power so she can clean things up for Yue to inherit. When other demon clans started to attack the very vulnerable Zodiac Monkey Clan, Shanzha and Macaque took arms and they led them to victory, accidentally expanding their territory. Shanzha was very, very good at fighting and winning, so she became known as a warlord - even though it was other demons attacking her and not the other way around????
Macaque took a role of an advisor since he knows what ruling is like and can see from a mile away that Shanzha was accidentally making an empire. He just wanted the best for their niece, who he’s terribly fond of and wants to give the world to her.
Since they were already co-parenting and have no interest in starting a romance with, well, anyone after their respective heartbreaks, the two get platonically married. It boosts Shanzha’s image anyways to have such a gorgeous mate who’s “devoted” to her and her alone. They make it work.
Now, Wukong - despite some changes - still somehow manages to get himself into trouble with Heaven (eats their peaches, drinks their wine, and steals all the pills) and gets thrown under the mountain. Maybe it’s a self-sabotaging thing. Or maybe it’s an effort to give RinRin immortality so she wouldn’t have to depend solely on his feelings since he realized that his love for her wasn’t as strong as he thought (lol it’s your guilt that’s keeping her there, silly).
Macaque and Shanzha respond when they hear of FFM’s burning. They give help, supplies, and troops to help defend the island as it recovers. Shanzha went directly there herself, reunited with RinRin for a time, before returning to her territory. Of course, there’s lots of unearthed feelings and pining but they leave it open ended since they have responsibilities.
Wukong, on the other hand, has his reunion with Macaque during his journey to the west. He and his pilgrim brothers come across the Land of Eternal Snow and are treated as important guests. No demon shenanigans. Just Wukong blatantly pining over his best friend. Who’s married to the warlord. And has an adorable child.
Zhu Baije: Brother, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but stop flirting. You’re going to get us kicked out.
Wukong: What do you mean? I’m not flirting. I’m just happy to see my best friend after all this time!
Everyone: …
Tripitaka and the other pilgrims are worried about Wukong offending the Warlord but nope, she’s too busy pouring her heart out on her most recent message to the Queen of FFM - updating her about her husband’s whereabouts, of course.
Macaque is doing well. He’s respected, loved, and lusted after by many. What do you mean he’s still not over Wukong? He’s the warlord’s husband. He’s the heiress’ doting guardian. What more does he want?
(Wukong, apparently.)
By the time Wukong has to move on, nothing is resolved aside from Yue getting the most powerful uncle in the world to support her claim to the clan head seat.
For the rest of the journey, Wukong is insufferable. He’s either waxing poetic about his “best friend in the world” or fuming over how Macaque still has demons throwing themselves at him despite his married status.
Whether these celestial monkey idiots resolve their complicated relationship or not is left open-ended. But there’s certainly a lot of pining. And doting over Yue because she deserves the world.

PENULTIMATE CHAPTER!!! READ MY ATLA SCREAM AU FANFIC WHERE EVERYONE IS A SUSPECT & NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS!
The teens of Lakewood (AKA the Gaang Feat. the dangerous ladies) are deep in it having suffered brutal losses & getting no closer to learning the true identity of the killer behind the mask - come read PSPSPSPSP
Look I even made a silly mood board for it -
Tumblr media
this time - A Twitter confession of murder. A killer trapped in a coma. The Red Flag Club is in the trenches with more questions than answers when Zuko admits to putting on the Ghostface mask, & claims Azula helped him slaughter their friends & family while locked in a trance. What is the truth? Just how many people have been masquerading as Ghostface & slicing & dicing the people of Lakewood? Angry, confused & unsure of what to believe Katara makes a deadly choice about who to trust as the seconds tick down & the bloody finale of this murder mystery approaches.
The most prominent ships in this fic are definitely Azula/Katara & Azula/Zuko - but also relevant are Jet/Katara, Sokka/Yue, Sokka/Suki, Jet/Ty Lee, Zuko/Mai & Jet/Yue. This is a horror/murder mystery/tragedy/slasher whodunit set in the Scream universe. The final chapter will be posted next week. No one is safe, & everyone is a suspect. Read at your own risk!

Yue was a beautiful woman, who some used to say was born from starlight and the call of a crane. But her parents were old and had no sons, so she had to stay in the village as a maiden to take care of them. The jewel of a small village, trapped in a golden cage.
One day, a young nobleman came to the village while traveling. When he saw her, he fell in love instantly, proposing to the stop. Unable to outright reject him, she said “Come to fetch me when you have retrieved a branch made of gold and leaves made of jewels; If you can do that, you will win the right to my heart.”
He did not return, but there came a second noble in his place. This time, she told him to get a holy lyre played by a wind god. He returned with a counterfeit. She turned him away, and two more like him soon followed.
The emperor came to visit her one day, asking her “Love, if you marry me, I will make your beauty known throughout all the land.” She refused, saying that she did not need her beauty to be known, nor did she need to be confined to the palace.
He returned the next day, asking “Love, if you marry me, I will make you the richest woman in the land, and you will have a palace in every city.” She refused, saying that if she left her family that would be the same as leaving her heart.
He did not leave that day, and he told her “Love, if you do not marry me, I will set the village alight, and you will not marry anyone.” And she could not refuse him.
That night, she went to the river, weeping crystal tears of sorrow. She heard gentle whispers, follow, “Why do you cry, my dear?”
She answered, “I must be wed to a man who will burn those who refuse him.” The whispers seemed to hum, and told her;
“Drink the river water at the source, and he will forget every thought of you. But if you get too greedy, you will get more than you hoped for.”
Yue nodded and traveled to the source, finding a spring with water clearer than crystals and shimmering like moonlight. She held the water in her hands, taking a gulp. But she thought to herself, she could only fit so much in her palm, why wouldn’t she bring some home in case it wasn’t enough? But she had no vial on her to carry any. In worry, she took another sip after sip, and she prayed that she would be forgotten by the man.
She went back down to the village and soon reached her home. She knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Knocking again, her hand passed through the door. She walked through the door slowly, edging towards her room, as though approaching a wounded animal. As she entered, it was full of not her bed and clothes, but instead was dedicated to the storage of bamboo stalks and her father’s old bows. She ran to the window and tried to open it, to see if the garden was as she left it, but instead ran through the wall into a field of brambles. As she started once more, she heard the whispers again. She sobbed and choked out, “And what have you done? Come to mock me?”
“You were told not to get greedy, and yet you drank handfuls upon handfuls.” The whispers responded, “But the river is generous, it only tries to give you what you want. Take a few gulps for something new, and take some for to be drank when you feel most lonely. But in return, you must give up something as precious as what you desire.” But again, she did not stay to heed the whispers and warnings, running to find the roots of the crystal river once more.
She ran to it and drank straight from the source, her tears mixing with the river as she began to glow and lift, far away from the world she called her home. As she arose, the whispers asked, “And why do you drink, but only to fulfill yourself? You wished only to be remembered.”
“Yes, I only wish to be remembered. But why does that make me greedy? I am nothing but a poor girl, and yet the emperor will erase me for my refusal. Why should I not be remembered if he can?” The whispers giggled at that and told her.
“Silly child. You are no longer a girl; You are like me. Rise to the moon, sweet one, and remember that even reflected light looks lovely on a pond.”
Name: Yue
Surname: Akatsuki
Maiden name: Gui
Main Inspirations: Princess Kaguya, Chang’e, and The Little Mermaid
Lore, the reality of the fable:
I understand that I’m going to be acting like I’m contradicting myself in this section versus in the earlier, but in my version of our world for TWST, I use Yue as an actual mythological figure, which will tie more into Yuri (my Yuu’s) lore later. All you need to know for context is that the fable heard above is just that; Folklore based off of events that happened in that world. It’s why there are a few details like her being told to save some of the water, there being storage for her father’s bows, or her being stuck in a ‘golden cage’; It’s meant to show the fact that this myth has been altered and changed over time, a little detail that fits well with the context.
So, what happened was that Yue was a very beautiful woman who started to get proposals from various people, but gave them all impossible tasks and then refused them. Unable to tell the emperor himself that anything he brought was fake, she instead outright refused him, but he continued trying for her hand. Eventually, he got tired of it and decided to force her into it by threatening to kill everyone in her village. However, before he could take her to the capital, she went to go find the fabled magical crystal buried inside a lake near her. It was part of a magic pen that had been “lost” there because it was sent away by someone right before their friend overblotted. However, being unable to use the magic or know what it actually was, Yue chose to eat the stone, believing that either she would be able to get away from her suitor or die trying. In the end, she wished for her to be remembered pleasantly by her family and that they wouldn’t be hurt by the emperor, causing her magic to trigger and send her to the moon, the only place where she could be sure he would never find her.
Once she came there, there were already beings living on the moon. They require a lot of context because they’re a different kind of being, but to summarize, they called themselves seraphs and were humanoid creatures that were reborn every time they died and could fly. She lived with them, fell in love with one, got an immortality potion, and eventually had three children, twin girls and a son. However, realizing that the children had no wings or magic of their own, she chose to go back down to Earth for a little while and pretend to be a normal human, eventually ending up marrying the man who she pretended was Yuri’s father and helping take care of his other kids from his ex-wife.
Now that her children have gone missing, she’s stayed on Earth, deciding to keep looking for her here and to take care of the kids until someone notices that she’s not aging.
That’s all for now :) As always, leave a comment or ask if you have anything to add or anything else that you want to know
Edit: I just changed the formatting :)

Hello, I am very new to Tumblr and social media as a whole. I just want to rant about a SVSSS fanfic that has captured my mind it is so good.
There will be spoilers for it so before I get into what I like about it I'm gonna pitch a non spoiler version for anyone who actually happens to read this. Then I will get into what is so great about it.
***The author is demoniqt***, I am only gushing about the fic, the story is 100% not mine. I'm sorry for how cringe this is I sware I'm an adult I'm just an adult with no friends.
THE LINK: https://archiveofourown.org/works/36698833/chapters/91545391
OKAY, SO.
It's called "The Hidden Flower" or "Yin Hua". The story follows Shen Jiu who has recently awoken in his third life right back where he began. After being reincarnated in the modern world and experiencing what it truly felt like to be loved, Shen Jiu doesn't stand for child abuse anymore! Since he can't change his past life, he has to start in this one. Only... he never meant to start his own sect full of orphans! Nor does he know why he has what seems like a whole cast of unlikely suiters asking for even a chance at courtship!
But why was he reborn like this? What about Binghe? Can he stop really that beast's rise to power?
Meanwhile, two others ponder what happened to a certain Qing Jing peak lord...
SPOILERS START!!!!! (Will sound like nonsense without reading fic)
Okay so this fic has it all. Ying Ying killing her husband, Tsundere Liu Qingge, Cool orphans, and really, really sad parts, and Yue Qingyuan simping.
So I'm not actually done it but honestly, when I realized Shange Qinghua was the one who found the knife, I was struggling not to yell. It all comes together so well and that is just great. I thought this fic would just be a silly time with some cute shenanigans but boy was I not ready for the emotional journey. There is one part near the beginning where Shen Jiu wonders if he would have turned out better in his first life if he were shown kindness and- THE ANSWER IS YES!! Living though his second life and being showed love made him kind and empathetic. The whole thing has this whole theme of kindness breaking a cycle of trauma and it is amazing. I have so many screen shots of emotional and funny parts of this fic.
The ocs are so top teir. Cheng Yi and Qi are the best sisters and the Songstresses- I love them. The relationship between Shen Jiu and the previous Qing Jing peak lord is really sweet, as well as just the interaction in general between him and the Cang Qiang peak lords.
I made some very rough fan art. I'm not finished yet, but I wanted to include it because if Shen Jiu with a veil doesn't make you want to read it, I don't know what will.

A letter to my general;
General, please come back safely. I've been overworked during your absence, yet my tent is always open should you return. I'm sure you've seen how much Jiyan has changed since your disappearance, as such, I wouldn't dabble on that subject much today.
Have you been eating well during your travels? Oh how I wished I could've ran after you the night you left to take down that Thorax alone. It pains me that the last thing I have is this silver ring you've promised me around my finger, and the earring you've gifted me... Please come back.
—Sincerely, Xing Yue, Midnight Rangers' Head Nurse.
(I’m going to admit I had this in my inbox, and was heavily debating on how to answer it— given that I am unsure if your intent was for Geshu to answer as a phantom (?) which would be difficult given he can’t receive physical mail… though if he’s supposedly missing, then he wouldn’t receive physical mail either even if he weren’t a phantom. Also mentioning the Ovathrax implies the timeline to be after fighting the Threnodian, so everyone assumes he’s dead (and likely technically is?) that being said, I prefer not to be unrealistic even if an ask is kind of silly or otherwise doesn’t make much sense, but this particular letter just sort of stumped me on how to go about answering it. I didn’t want to make assumptions, or try and create a scenario in which he would somehow obtain this letter as either a phantom or a physical person if that wasn’t your initial intention. But I also didn’t want to leave it unanswered…)
(Another thing, I’m assuming this is meant to be a plot where Geshu is already romantically involved with someone… I generally prefer to avoid established relationships right off the bat because it’s more difficult to not veer into OOC when romantic interactions don’t fit very well with a character’s personality. That’s not to say he won’t ever have romantic interactions, just that it takes work to get there, you are free to read through this blog’s rules again if something is unclear)
(As for this letter, again— I was a little confused on how to respond, so if you’d like to send another ask and tell me more in detail the plot you had in mind and specify if you’d like Geshu to be a phantom or not, that would help a little bit…)
(I apologize for my confusion and the small rambling, I just didn’t want to assume and end up choosing the wrong way to go about answering it)

Your english is great so don't be ashamed! Whoever told you that is an idiot!
OKAY THIS IS A PROVOCATION I WILL DO IT /j Actually, I wrote this the same day you asked, but I was embarrassed to post it... So yes! You have been warned about my bad English :D
Falken x gn! reader fluff
You sighed heavily and leaned on your forehead against the cold wall of the corridor. From the very morning you felt weakness. You wanted to believe that it was only yesterday's mission, just a tiredness after difficult battle with miramons and nothing more. But the truth was clear - you got sick. And now head feels unbearably hot and heavy. In a good way, you should immediately go to one of the doctors and open a sick leave, but several people from your team already were seriously injured and stayed at home, so you didn’t want to let commander Falken down even more. Therefore, you crossed your fingers and believed that you could hold up until the evening and lie down tomorrow, during day off.
Thats why now you were facing the wall, hoping to cool your aching head in such a stupid way, without attracting too much attention to yourself. Falken's office is nearby, so happyly there no one around. All members of the Union tried to avoid meeting him, moreover making noise near his workplace. You didn't share their opinion. Yes, commander Falken seemed cold, but for some reason no one even tried to get to know him better and understand that he is not scary at all. You were lucky to find a common language with him. Starting with awkward questions about weather or today's menu and equally awkward answers, step by step you started talking more in your free time. You gladly agreed to walk together to the canteen or library. Falken even smiled when you joked. At least, it seemed so to you, because the impenetrable gaze of predatory hawk eyes seemed so warm at such moments. Well, you really wanted it to be truth. You were in love with Falken and couldn't deny it.
“y\n?”
You flinched when you heard his voice. Oh no. Of course you didn't think that your crash could come out of his own office, which is two steps away from here. Great job, idiot.
“C-commander Falken?”
“You look bad.”
“You have the eyes of a falcon, commander” you tried to joke, but this time he didn’t even raise an eyebrow
“You are ill…” he didn't ask, he asserted.
He frowned, looking you up and down, his gaze was heavy and attentive, as if he was trying to pin you to the floor. Finally, he stopped at your painfully red face, squinting a little. Your head, hot with fever, considered this look as condemning. Feelings of guilt pricked your heart. More than anything, you didn't want to upset Falken any more.
“Excuse me commander! I know I'm letting you down. But I promise I'll be in better shape for the next mission!”
“Don't be silly, you'll only make things worse." Falken interrupted, shaking his head. “Immediately go to the doctor and take sick leave.”
“But…!”
"That's an order.”
Heart sank painfully. He is right. It's not certain that you'll be better in a couple of days, and like any other commander, Falken doesn't need a sneezing and coughing burden on a serious mission.
***
The next day, you just slept and took the medicine prescribed by Heng Yue. Headache and suffocating heat didn’t allow to rise from the bed, weakness fettered the limbs. Every muscle in your body ached painfully. It was as if you were crushed by a red-hot anvil, and your inflamed and restless mind kept returning you back to the corridor where you last saw Falken, repeating his words. And how did you manage to get sick at such an inconvenient moment?
A day later temperature finally subsided and you were able to walk unsteadily to the bathroom and bring yourself back to normal. A sudden call pierced the silence of the apartment. You walked towards the door in surprise. Maybe one of your friends decided to visit?
Falken stood in the doorway. You blinked.
“Commander Falken! What are you doing here?”
“I accidentally heard that your friends couldn't get through to you. When I tried it myself, your phone was off. So I came to check if everything is ok.”
His gaze no longer seemed as heavy as last time. Falken looked at your face, worry flickering in his eyes. Light eyebrows seemed to break, expressing sincere regret.
“Sorry, I should have sent you on the day off earlier. You've been working so hard lately…”
“I thought you were angry?”
“For what? It's my fault. I managed to get used to the fact that you are always there and help me, that I did not think about your health at all. I'm sorry.”
The sincere tone of his voice made you feel embarrassed. Falken… worried about you? And felt guilty? These thoughts excited your heart, which beat like a jackhammer, dispersing unexpectedly hot blood through your body. Unlike the temperature, this heat feels nice.
“No, it's not your fault!”
The voice sounded unexpectedly loud, repeatedly bouncing off the empty walls. It's only now that you realize that you're still keeping Falken at the doorstep of your apartment.
“Oh, sorry! Please, come in! I… oh, I wasn't expecting guests…” you mumbled absently, looking nervously around inside your house.
“Should I leave?” Falken asked calmly, stopping in mid-step.
“Not! It's just a little messy…”
“Don't worry about it, I came to check how you feel, not how you clean your house. Can you take me to the kitchen? I brought something for dinner.”
You escorted Falken in the right direction. Did he bring something for dinner? What could it be…? You haven't eaten for more than a day, so the thought of food involuntarily woke up your stomach, which immediately emitted a hungry rumbling. Falken set down a bag from ShrimpDog on the table.
"Your cheeks are red. Everything is fine?"
"It's great! Yeah, pretty good, thanks!"
May the gods save your soul, you're so excited.
Falken didn't seem to believe you. However, he did not say anything and only pulled containers with still hot food out of the bag. It was your favorite dish. You swallowed your saliva and stared at the food, surprised by such a lucky coincidence.
"Commander, this is my favorite dish! How did you guess?"
"But you told me about it yourself, didn't you?"
“When?!”
“A month ago. We were on patrol and we passed by the ShrimpDog, you said they make your favorite dish. I thought it would cheer you up.”
“Oh, so you remember it…”
“Of course. I really enjoy talking with you, you tell a lot of interesting things that I myself have never paid attention to.”
Your ears burned with embarrassment. It was very, very nice, but you never thought that one day you would actually hear it from him.
“I'm glad to hear it, commander”
“Just Falken.” Through the dark mask, you could see his soft smile. “You should eat before it gets cold.”
Fresh and tasty food from favorite restaurant not only filled hungry stomach, but also made you incredibly happy. Your lips curled into a gentle smile. A pleasant feeling of satiety and satisfaction spread throughout the body, driving away the remnants of painful weakness and fatigue after fighting the temperature. Now you really feel better. Thanks to Falken. He, in turn, silently watched you all this time, resting his chin on his palm in a strict leather glove with sharp golden claws. His eyes followed the expression on your face.
“Do I have food on my face?” you asked, grabbing a napkin.
“No, no, it's fine. Sorry, didn't mean to stare. You just look happy. It makes me happy too.”
You nearly choked in surprise. How can he say such nice things to you with such an impenetrable face…
“Yeah, I really like this dish. Thanks again, Falken.”
“I heard that many members of Union like this place.”
“Just heard? Have you ever been there?”
“No, never.” He paused, rubbing his neck. “Can I ask you to go there together when you get better?”
Your cheeks are on fire again. If it wasn't for the sore throat, you would have gone there with him right now.
“Sure, with pleasure!”
Falken smiled softly again, nodding his thanks.

Note
1-8 for the deep fic writers ask >:)
yue 😭😭😭 <3
1. what's the fic you're most proud of?
my maroon fic, probably. i worked really hard on that one and it was a little out of my comfort zone. i read it (or at least what i had written for it) before bed basically every night for a month before i published it (but haven't read it since 😅).
2. what's a fic that took you to an emotional/dark/hard place?
tbh i haven't really explored any darker themes. the 'angstiest' thing i've written is the maroon fic and even that i don't think is really that angsty. i really admire writers that can effectively craft works with darker themes in a compelling and nuanced way because it's definitely something i'm not naturally inclined to write. maybe one day.
3. what fic are you emotionally attached to?
....all of them? lol. maroon fic for sure. my longer natelehky wip too because it was my first real foray into hrpf. it still holds a really special place in my heart, which is part of why i haven't finished it. i'm scared i won't be able to do it justice, i think.
4. what fic of your own do you read for comfort?
for a while it was my cribbage fic! i really liked writing cale's pov for that and i think the story came across the way i wanted, if that makes sense? rn though any of my little established relationship one shots! they're relatively quick and easy for me to write and meant to be quick and easy to read :)
5. what fic of your own won't you read?
my maroon fic 😭😭😭. i think i put so much work into it and had so many expectations for myself for it that i'm afraid if i'll read it again that i won't think it's good or something?? idk it's silly and stupid and i've gotta get over it but yeah.
6. what's the hardest part of the writing process for you?
long answer here. short answer: endings.
7. how does receiving or not receiving feedback/support impact you?
long answer here. short answer: it can put me in a funk sometimes but for the most part i'm grateful for every interaction ever <3
8. does anyone in your personal life know you write fic? if not, would you tell anyone?
depends on how i define 'personal' i guess. i have a lot of online-friends-turned-real friends from twitter, most of whom know i write fic. then my best friend irl also knows. my family does not and i will not be telling them (i probably would if i wasn't writing rpf but having the whole rpf discussion with my fam sounds horrendous lmfao).
