What kinda characters would you like to see more of?

hey there! we have a good balance of characters here at the moment, so as far as personalities go, the world is your oyster! below i've listed a few ideas to hopefully get you started.

i would love to see more characters filling subplot roles, namely se3, nw2 and nw4. i feel like these characters could be taken in very interesting directions.

transplants who relocated to work at hanwha resort yuseong belvedere from another one of hanwha's resort or restaurant locations; maybe a chef from one of the restaurants who feels like they were "demoted" in a way by being placed in a resort's kitchen, or other employees who were given the ultimatum to relocate or lose their position with hanwha company.

forest rangers. did they choose to work in yuseong bay or were they placed here by chance? are they passionate about the wilderness, or do they feel uneasy with the ominous energy of the deep woods?

fishermen or children of fishermen, as these are the people most directly affected by hanwha resort's construction. are they willing to change with the times and make do with what they've been left with, or are they petitioning for a compromise?

speaking of petitions—small scale politicians, or aspiring politicians. people who are always fighting for positive change within the bay. people who believe that it's worth the fight.

people who are at a stand-still in life. maybe they're from the bay and thought that they'd have made it out by now; maybe they moved here thinking that a change in scenery would be the inspiration they needed to do something. would love to see characters who are figuring it out as they go.

as a final thought, our ages skew quite young right now, so anyone born in or before 1995 would be nice to have around.

hii, would you perhaps consider switching to a rolling acceptance instead?

hi there! the admin team has discussed and we would be willing to switch to a rolling acceptance, however the activity checks would remain the same. so muns who join with a character later in the two week activity period, would have less time to make their two posts and will be put on the warning list if they fail to do so! (though they would not be dropped, unless they are listed on the warning list twice in a row.) this isn't unlike the muses who are already accepted in week two of an activity check already but just so you are aware! the second thing to address is of course, members should be aware that a rolling basis will be on admin's time. we will try to at least accept at the same time each day (at 8pm est) but cannot guarantee that we will be available to accept muses everyday. if members are okay with this change and like this idea, we are happy to change our acceptances.

Will you be doing any more prompts or events soon? And will there be any new subplots introduced other than the ones you guys currently have?

hello! we do have an event planned to drop very soon, and we’re open to adding more subplots in the future. if there is a certain theme/loose idea you were wanting to see, feel free to let us know and if it’s something we can see fitting in the rp, we’ll keep it in mind!

what is the ratio of residents and visitors like? if you choose to be a visitor, you don't need to pick a job?

out of our current applications, only four are visitors. so it’s skewed towards residents, but we don’t mind this at all so don’t let it discourage you from bringing a resident if that’s what you’d prefer! to answer your second question, that’s ultimately dependent on the character. someone who is in yuseong bay for an indefinite amount of time without intentions to stay & consequently reluctant to commit to anything too permanent could be classified as a visitor, and in that case, they could have picked up a job in the meantime. whereas if your character is on vacation, they (probably) wouldn’t want to do any labor during their time in yuseong. you could also have someone who works remotely, someone who freelances, or someone who picks up odd jobs around town without actually pursuing anything too serious. there’s a lot of freedom to craft your character’s individual story & motivations, so it’s up to you to decide whether or not they would have a job currently.

why do you advertise in the krp tag if you are accepting all faceclaims?

thank you for your concern(s). since it seems to be garnering some confusion, we will no longer use the tag for all our posts. we do want to add that our effort to promote our rp to a wider audience was not out of malice, but in hopes of finding more people to hopefully join the group. furthermore, we do hope that it didn't make anyone uncomfortable in the process. from today onward, we will no longer tag every post as such, nor will we answer any more asks about it in hopes that we can put the seemingly contentious subject to rest.

hi there! here are some ideas for the application free form area:

ic muse diaries, a list of items that are significant somehow, grocery lists/other sorts of to do lists (provided you add some context to these), letters/notes from your muse to someone else (either a family member or some sort of professional letters) or from someone else to your muse, if it works better that way. a short biography, either written out fully or within bullet points, a timeline of your muse's life/significant milestones, etc.

your muse is moving house/apartment and finds significant items from their past that they had some how forgotten or cleaning out a room/box of discarded items from their childhood or a family member.

your muse's first experience in yuseong versus how they fit in to the town now. why are they in yuseong? do they feel stuck? are they hiding from something?

your muse is being interviewed about a local yuseong bay event and is prompted to give some insight to the town and how they view the area, ie. how did you come to be in yuseong? are you a resident or a visitor? what do you think about the hanhwa resort opening and buying property on the shoreline? are you afraid of tourism changing what you know and love about yuseong? or do you think that the boost to the local economy is a good thing?

your muse participating in or witnessing some of the local yuseong lore, ie. walking through the forest and getting lost, experiencing one or more paranormal hotspots around the area, feeding the many cats that seem to thrive in a massive unchecked colony, watching the meteor shower or carving something under the wooden bridge, maybe even searching for the lost time capsule.

feel free to use any of these ideas or a variation of them in your application! you really could write anything in the application freeform that is significant to your muse, as long as it provides some context and allows us admins to have a clear picture of the character you are bringing!

hi! could we submit locations of our own, perhaps businesses our muses own/work for? <3

hi there! thanks for your interest in yuseong! currently we are not accepting member made businesses be added to our list of canon locations. we felt like this would be a little hard to keep up with going forward and unfortunately, as a team, we decided against it. on the other hand, you are welcome to have your own semi non-official businesses or jobs that your muses work for or own themselves. the only thing is, we won't be adding them to the main blog or official yuseong bay lore. we do want this to be an interactive roleplay though, so as a solution to this, we had prepared to have the ability for members to submit their own farmer's market stalls for businesses, farms, and artisan goods. we will make a more official announcement upon opening, if you are interested!

while we are set in south korea (jeju island), we are not a krp. we allow muses of all ethnicities and nationalities, as long as they abide by our rules. we will be using the krp tag only to promote our rp.
