Summary:

Jafar was a YouTuber dealing break-up by proxy AU.

In this modern AU, Jafar, a YouTuber, found his world empty and hollow after his peer, dormmate, and mentor, Hades, disappeared without a warning. All he left was two golden casings of YouTube Creator Award and a cold and barren bed next to Jafar's. One day, a mysterious new dormmate, Frollo, entered Jafar's life.

Hey, Descendants fandom, quick question, do any of you have Headcanons for the VKs other patents? You know, the people who the villains had their kids with? Because i was watching a Disney villains retrospective on Youtube and the poster of the video mentioned thinking about the villains spouses... So yeah, i've been thinking a lot about that. Like, who tf was brave enough to have a kid with CRUELLA DE VIL of all poeple?. I'm pretty sure that Mal is the only VK that has both parents confirmed (at least in the movies, idk about the books).

I know that the other parent doesn't really matter all that much, because at the end of the day we all only care about the Villain parent, not the random they had a kid with. I mean, is "Jay son of Jafar" not "Jay son of Jafar and that random lady'". But... I don't know, is kinda weird (?) to see every single villain in the saga as a single parent and it makes me ask a lot of questions.

The logistics and timeline don't make sense, specialy with the villains that had to be revive to be traped in the island. Asuming that all the VKs are the biological kids of the OG villains, how did they got their kids in the first place? Asuming that all the villains had their kids after being traped in the island, wich would be the case with the dead villains that had to be brought back to life like Ursula, Grimhilde, Maleficent, Facillier, etc wouldn't that mean that they had kids with eachother? Mal's parents are Maleficent and Hades so pairings between the villains are not out of the question, but guess Disney didn't want to push the shipping between their villains too much.

And what about the villains who didn't die at the end of the movie like Cruella? Did they had their kids before or after being traped? I'm asuming after, because i doubt they would send an entire family to the island or meybe she was already pregnant with Carlos when they traped her?.

The more i try to rationalise it, the worse this makes King Beast/Adam looks, lol.

Anyways, i want to make an Descendants AU and i want to know if anyone else has any headcanons for the VKs second parents, i think there is a good deal of angst potential there, so far i only got Gil's mom and Carlo's dad picked.

Gils mom is one of the Blonde Gaston Fangirls that we see in the movie, the red one. Not a very original choice, but is the one that makes the most sense to me.

Carlos dad is Lars, that one artist that shows in 101 dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure. I liked his interactions with Cruella and since Descendants is an alternate universe, i'm going to change the context of their relationship a little bit.

I've been a bit busy this last few weeks and I just discovered, toy absolute shock, I overlooked The Villain's Lair on YouTube by PattyCake Productions. I have no idea why (or maybe I do but won't tell 🥺), but the song from "That's All" is my favorite so far and I thought of this idea while hitting replay - replay - replay - replay:

This is Great 7 AU + Ambiguous Villain Resurrection Plan + A Yuu that's not above seeing them as family, but isn't afraid to call out BS (but can be gullible).

Basically, the idea that came from this song is sorta coinciding with a Yuu that is known to have visions / hear things, and the other students just see it as a reason why the mirror chose them. They think they're a medium, but definitely it's much less that.

You can insert what you like the Great 7 to be here but I'm also taking a bit of "everybody knows somebody that owes Ursula something" and "Ursula deserves a power creep because she's kinda a demi-god". Basically: Maleficent would physically have no wings if she returned because of Ursula's assistance with the potency of the sleeping spell, The Evil Queen owes her because her original demise was stopped by Ursula seeing use in her, etc cetera. Scar and Jafar like: nah, no thanks.

Definitely, working together can lead to an alliance of sorts, but no matter what beginning the Yuu has with them, they all do still have that underlying animosity and, well, fear. Hades, Maleficent, and Ursula would be big threats to the others if they did succeed, and this world is also not the same as it used to be: Malleus and Crowley definitely hold a threat, Grim is very clearly an unknown variable only probably the powerful know how to use (I can see Hades going: "oh that guy... what? no, i didn't say anything at all..."), and of course the current magic state of things.

I can see The Evil Queen definitely getting easily agitated, and probably Jafar or Scar as well, that maybe resurrection will be more trouble them it's worth if the debts and power creep are so evident. This can lead to a meeting of Evil Queen and Maleficent in the chambers of Yuu's mind palace (Persona 5 YOINK) about why the queen is not as helpful anymore with driving Yuu to research. She had been go ready to be free, she forgot who else she'd free too (and if your Gunhildr likes Yuu: who she'd be potentially hurting/worse in the process of somehow resurrecting them).

All of this to say... They duet in Yuu's head and Yuu can faintly hear the emotional bouts of it (because it's their head, and even with the other's blocking themselves, they're emotional singing loudly), and tap their foot to the beat. A bit of mumbling of words they don't process as they study.

Ace, confused: "What song is that? Sounds like a cat fight from a musical."

Yuu: "Oh? Uh... I don't know. It just came to me. But I don't understand it."

Ace: "Ghost music?"

Yuu, keeping the Great 7 a secret: "Ghost music."

No no dude u don't understand I would listen to Pattycake to write the seven. Like it fits them so well.

And I always imagine them singing these songs to yuu whenever they ask about their past and they make themselves to be the better person and manipulate Yuu to their will before they end up loving them.

They make being bad look super good and stuff and encourage Yuu to be evil like them. Listen to Evil Like Me from Decendants and imagine Maleficent herself singing that Yuu idk I love the concept so much bro

Though my great 7 is more fluffy I do debating writing a toxic 7 with Yuu as they all work together manipulate and use them. Maybe once I finish my regular fic idk.

so I ended up listening to annapantsu (on YouTube) covers of Prince Ali and Arabian Nights, and this idea came to be in my head of an au where somehow Kalim after the events of Scarabi arc tries to make things better and ends up finding a book in the library that can alter reality in a way (don't ask how) and Kalim thinking it can fix or at least help with things between him and Jamil, uses it and it ends up turning time to a week after or around Azul's overblot but something is different in the Scarabia dorm Kalim and Jamil switch roles, Jamil now the housewarden of Scarabia and coming from a Royal family weil Kalim is the Vice-Hausewarden of Scarabia and Jamils "Servant". (Jamil and Kalim have more of Princ Ali and Genei type of relationship instead of the Sulten and Jafar)

And Nobody realizes till a week later when Yuu and Grim start feeling like they have done this before and so that story arc begins.#

Woulf Kalim overblot in this au...yes. would it be because of trauma...kinda of The reasoning would be more because of him overusing his magic, like to make sure the spell is working he must have his magic activated at all time

Movie buff asks !! (Where I also recommend movies)

‘1. Favorite action film?’

Mine is Hardcore Henry (2015), a movie that’s very interesting in the fact that it’s entirely filmed in first person ! I found it very fun for when u want to turn your brain off and have something exciting to take up your time (also I think the full thing is available on YouTube ? Or at least last time I checked).

‘34. An underrated movie?’

Housebound (2014) is a movie I think is very underrated, about a woman who becomes increasingly convinced that her mothers home is haunted after strange things begin to occur, tho because she is staying there due to being put under house arrest, she cannot leave.

OOOOH good ones... hmmm...

For the first... gonna have to go with Everything Everywhere All At Once tbh. the only other times I've really seen where the fighting is also a metacommentary on one of the themes actually being portrayed by the film is The Dark Knight, or The Matrix, and honestly it's just too damn good that one. It's what more action films should strive for tbh and it will never stop exploding my mind.

34. god I have a whole pocket full of underrated movies. first one that comes to mind for me is The Fall- because literally it's so underrated they don't even make copies of it on physical media anymore- and my dad had to pay like 70 bucks to get an old blu-ray copy on ebay for me for christmas a couple years ago. seriously one of the most incredible films I've ever seen and absolutely nobody knows about it anymore (for the lee pace girlies as well- this one is a MUST). But also I feel like I should show my chops as a film major with deep cuts... so lets go with Jafar Panahi's The Mirror- seriously the most insane meta/use of cinematic form I've ever seen (trust me- not a film that can be explained. just has to be seen to be believe. you will literally not expect anything of what happens tho and that's the point). And also I have to shout out to Mike Flanagan's Gerald's Game which I think is probably his best feature-length to date (discounting Midnight Mass, the outlier- and yes Hush is also insanely good but Gerald's Game fucked me up WAY more tbh and is still one of the best horror films I've ever seen- which on that note A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night is great btw). OH!!!!!! And some low-key faves of mine from my dad's old movie marathons: The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (woman talks to an old sailor ghost who is haunting her house and falls in love with him. no I'm not going to project ANOTHER lady terror and francis au onto this one for sure). Also The Court Jester starring Danny Kaye, and The Petrified Forrest (one of Humphrey Bogart's first films ever- and it's GREAT)

This is a very weird thought but I have been thinking about Watcher AU Claude Frollo.

So Watchers are essentially a demi-god like creature within Minecraft fan lore, more specifically Minecraft Youtuber fan lore, stemming from Grian. It’s also interesting that Watchers’ Biblical reference implies that Watcher!Frollo is a sort of fallen angel.

Watchers created a world in which people have three lives. (Yes this is a 3rd Life SMP series AU lol) When people are on their last life, they become bloodthirsty and hostile. Watchers created the world to prey on the anguish from all the betrayals and all the bloodshed. Watcher!Frollo, craving human connection, decided to go against Watchers’ code and joined the world himself (watchers are forbidden to interfere their own creation).

So in my little Minecraft YouTube series rip-off AU, Frollo met other Disney villains there. The villains have no magical powers other than anything Minecraft mechanics grant them (including Frollo, who was one of the creators of this cursed world). Frollo accidentally shot Jafar (on his 1st life) to death when Jafar was chased down by a pack of skeletons. He felt guilty over this, deciding to “serve his life” to Jafar until Frollo loses his first life as well.

……then Jafar accidentally jumped off an cliff and there goes his second life. Frollo is forced to become a mercenary of rampaging Jafar (last life curse), thinking to himself every day that creating this cursed world and joining it himself is the worst idea ever while doing all the killing, torturing, and burning with Jafar. The duo is chaotic and unstoppable despite Jafar foolishly threw his first two lives and Frollo is basically his reluctant sidekick and they secretly hate each other and it’s toxic relationship at it finest but they can’t leave each other.

When Frollo eventually lost his own first life with an arrow to his heart at a worldwide war, his first reaction is not “screw it, I finally lost my first life so by my own promise, I am FREE from Jafar”……NOPE he goes straight back to their base in the desert for another mayhem and more tnt minecarts.

Thank you again for my weird fan fic idea. I know your blog normally don’t do non-romantic ideas here, but still want to share with you.

Thanks for sharing! It's very interesting, even though I am not a specialist in terms on Minecraft (I'm more a sims person and recently I made Frollo a serial killer in my little sims world but nvm)

Also... Frollo and Jafar is literally my favourite duo. I have them both on my wallpaper. I don't know what do they have in common (old evil men?) but I always like to think about them working together... or just annoying each other

Fashion isn't my biggest interest, but I do like cute clothes for sure! I usually wear t-shirts and jeans or shorts, just anything comfortable. I want to experiment more with clothing as it relates to my gender identity and mix my more feminine side with androgynous clothing.

I don't wear makeup normally. I'm going to be a bridesmaid (forced to present fem) at a friend's wedding in a couple months though, and I got some fun limited-time Sesame Street makeup for the big day. Abby Cadabby lipstick for the win!

I'm not actively watching any shows right now. I do watch YouTube a lot though, just silly videos and speedrun documentaries.

I've seen a few of the Precure seasons, a few episodes of Sweetness and Lightning, Chi's Sweet Adventure, and more assorted G-rated anime.

My favorite kind of art medium is animation, especially 2D animation. I don't know how to animate very well, but I really want to learn! I would definitely recommend this FANTABULOUS animation by SAD-ist that's a sort of AU take on the Stanley Parable. Also "Yellow Zone".

Seeing as I finally plunged into the first part of your Rakepick ficlet and can’t wait to read the second part later, how do you design scenes and as graphic and action filled as incorporated there? What’s the writing process?

I need to reply to your comment on the Good!Rakepick AU fully (because seriously, MY HEART IS SO FULL, you are too wonderful to me, chere 😭), but in the meantime...

When I made up stories as a kid, the visual component always came first for me. When I started writing stuff down as a preteen, I even wrote in screenplay form, rather than in prose, so I tend to see the events of my stories in my head before figuring out the words to try to describe those images to someone else. I'm afraid it's something that's kind of second-nature to me, so I don't know how much advice I can give, but I'll try to break it down in a way that makes sense.

For me, I'm a rather visual learner. Everyone has their own style of learning, whether it involves watching/reading something (visual), listening to someone talk about something (auditory), or by physically doing something (kinetic), and I think that quality can also extend to how your brain interprets, translates, and internalizes information in general instead of just in the classroom.

If you're a visual learner like I am, then taking that time to visualize your settings and characters might make it easier to write a scene that other people can follow.

If you're an auditory learner, maybe speaking the scenes out loud can help. I actually do this too, using the auditory element to help me visualize the characters and check the scene's pacing. ASMR videos on Youtube could also help you place yourself in a certain location: I used one for the first time while writing my Disneyland-centric story TrueMagic, and it ended up helping me visualize the environment better and even inspired some details I included in the description of the location too.

If you're a kinetic learner, perhaps acting out the scene physically or being in an environment kind of like what you're trying to get across can help. I'm not really a kinetic learner, but there's one scene I wrote for Lack of Lamb Sauce that had to feel very physical and raw, so I actually waited until my apartment was empty and all the windows and doors were closed and then went into the living room and proceeded to physically mime and act out this one scene I was writing, lashing my arm out with an imaginary wand and screaming, as I tried to place myself in this character's shoes. Having that physical exhaustion in my limbs and tapping into those intense emotions by lashing out at no one actually helped me visualize that particular scene better so I could write it.

My interest in theater arts and film sort of helps in all three of these cases. Visually, I imagine the blocking of a scene the way a director might for a play, TV show, or movie; I try to hear how the characters deliver their lines in my head; and then like an actor, it's sometimes helpful to actually do what the characters are doing or otherwise "get into character" by dressing the part or immersing yourself in the environment.

When dealing with fight scenes in particular, in the real world, stage or film combat is often referred to as "fight choreography," and the word "choreography" is important, because like a dance, there is a rhythm to it. It's good to narrow down how the fight starts and ends and what the combatants on each side want (which should have some point of conflict). Then one can focus on pacing, starting simple and then growing more complex and raising the stakes bit by bit. For the first part of the Good!Rakepick AU, this thought process could work thusly --

The fight starts because Rakepick attacks; Tulip, Tonks, Liz, and Barnaby fight back; and Ismelda, Diego, and Chiara and later Carewyn, Talbott, Bill, and Ben come to help them.

The fight ends because Carewyn refuses to give Rakepick what she wants and Jacob arrives to violently disarm Rakepick.

Carewyn's goal throughout the scene is to protect her friends. Most of Carewyn's friends' goal throughout the scene is to prevent Rakepick from accessing the Vault and capture her. Chiara's goal throughout the scene is to heal Barnaby and the others.

Rakepick's goal throughout the scene is to push Carewyn far enough that she kills her. This directly opposes what the others want because the Circle of Khanna capturing Rakepick would make it so she can't make Carewyn do what she wants and paragon Carewyn would only purposefully hurt Rakepick if her loved ones were in mortal danger.

I remember one of the filmmakers behind Disney's Aladdin (the real animated one, for the record) once talking about how the climax between Aladdin and Jafar "raised the stakes" so well by showing Aladdin and the others come up with possible solutions, only for each one to be counteracted, therefore taking more and more options for success off the table and making things worse and worse every minute. Aladdin tries to snatch the lamp -- Jafar spots him reflected in Jasmine's crown. Aladdin tries to hold Jafar back while Jasmine runs to grab the lamp -- Jafar traps Jasmine in a giant hourglass that's slowly filling up with sand. Abu tries to grab the lamp -- he's turned into a wind-up toy. Carpet tries to grab it -- they get magically unwound. Aladdin tries again to grab it -- Jafar brings down a cage of swords around it. Aladdin grabs a sword and prepares to fight -- Jafar breathes fire and turns into a giant snake...and so on and so forth. In the part of the Good!Rakepick AU you read, something similar happens with Rakepick and the Circle of Khanna. Talbott and Carewyn arrive to help, with Talbott landing a blow on Rakepick and Carewyn helping Chiara get to Barnaby and the others -- Rakepick lands a curse on Diego that physically tortures him. Tonks tries to retalliate -- Rakepick casts a circle of flames around Tonks, Chiara, Barnaby, Tulip, and Liz to trap them. Talbott, Bill, Ben, and Carewyn all try to fight back individually -- Rakepick blocks their spells and enchants the statues to contain Talbott and Ben. Bill and Carewyn team up and actually end up giving Rakepick some trouble -- Rakepick picks them apart and makes Carewyn panic by trapping her BFF in an enchanted sinkhole she can't pull him out of...and so on.

I hope this both makes sense and is helpful? 😅

Jafar/Reader Halloween Fanfic AU Idea

This idea just came to me while I was binge-watching the Addams Family on YouTube, and I’m happy to say that I’m seeing the new movie tomorrow.  Though, I have to admit, I don’t care of Gomez’s new look.  Anyway, I came up with a modern AU idea that takes place in the same universe as Addiction where you and Jafar go to a Halloween party dressed as Gomez and Morticia, with Jafar dreading it, and you discovering a secret that makes you reconsider your marriage.  There’s just two problems.  One: By the time I finish the fanfic, it will be past Halloween and posting a Halloween fanfic in November would look weird.  Two: This feels like a rehash of my Lorax Halloween fanfic, where Once-ler and Kat go to a Halloween party and Kat has an attack of conscience.  Plus, I’m pulling a 24-hour right now.  So, at best, I can write a crappy rough draft.
