For new years, I was out, wearing my oakleaf, and this dude from my youthmovement came up to me and was like 'is that a silver oakleaf?' And I was like 'omg yes, you read RA?'

And then we discovered were both still at the same book (early years 2) and I lowkey had an awesome fangirl moment with this very drunk random dude who I keep running into

Also, enjoying things you're not good at. When I wanted to play a new sport (one I really like, but never really did within the 'sport' setting (only in youthmovement)) my mums first reaction was 'but you aren’t good at it'

Thats not the point I enjoy it, thats the point I don't want to become a professional

I think it’s incredibly fucked how capitalism discourages learning for learning’s sake. People will have interests they’ve spent years researching then say it’s “useless knowledge” bc it didn’t go towards a college degree and isn’t part of their job. Learning is never useless! Your brain is growing and developing throughout your whole life! People would never have epiphanies or sudden lightening strikes of creativity if they weren’t learning new things! That goes double for topics like science, politics, and history, which inform your understanding of the world you live in!

Its only a Journey.

..said that returning voice, to myself. How come things don't go well or according to plan because its a journey of learning or a catapult of crazy lessons that, one will have to learn along the way.

My inner consciousness is a constant therapy session with myself. I read, watch and listen to some of the most talented people and the most precious people in my life but I still have not found the answer to my inner most thoughts and desires. Helping people has been the most successful part of my life but now I find myself an adult struggling to find a me to help me!! 

Am I the only one out there who can encourage others but can’t seem to encourage themselves. 

Story of ones life. I suppose.

Where can I find the source of creating my dreams an how do I find it.

The world needs more youth movements, I want to encourage and hold on to these endless possibilities.

it's very easy to find a lot of young people with knowledge and information but very few wise people. It's also very easy to find cheap talk, young people think and feel that they are the leaders of tomorrow, so they feel they can talk against anything because they would be the leaders tomorrow. That's not wise at all. I would never say someone never did anything good but I would say where a man seems not to understand is where his shortcomings begin. Everyone has limits and so it's with our leaders, they can only do as much as their knowledge can take them, so it's very important to understand the power of collaboration and partnerships, because it reduces and widens our limit, but doesn't remove the fact that we all have limits. Hi everyone! We are GENSALIM (Generasi Sadar Iklim/Climate-Aware Generation), a community who stands on the cooperation between Indonesia and Germany since February 2019.

GENSALIM is a community consists of young people from numerous schools in Malang, Indonesia. The number of members is around 100 more and continues to grow, considering we often do socialization to young people and the community that focuses on mitigating climate change and providing education on strengthening children's rights. GENSALIM members have completed the initial training for 2 days at ngalup.co Malang by the facilitators and learning about climate change mitigation and strengthening the children’s right that we have not known at all.

Armed with this knowledge, we can carry out climate strikes and direct socialization to the public at Car Free Day (CFD). Not only to the adult community but also invite children and young people to join in our activity by participating in a game that we prepared. The games are in the form of Lego games where they have to make an urban arrangement based on Eco Mapping (environmental-based mapping). In this activity, a lot of community response that we did not even expect before.

Our next activity is ‘Inspiration Day’. In this activity, we were appointed directly by the Head of the Malang City Education Department, Mrs. Zubaidah. After the inauguration, we were invited to fill 2 stands at the 2019 Indonesia Green Growth and Sustainability Expo. The event was attended by the Ministry of the Environment and a number of officials. In addition, we can also meet with other communities even among students. In addition to filling the booth, we were also asked to advocate and greet the invited guests who sang Javanese songs and speeches.

In between these activities, we were mentored by EQuIC to form a spirit that loves the environment and solidarity among GENSALIM members. From February to October, we were mentored by 14 tutors with different themes. Among them are peer tutoring, event management, movie making, team building, critical thinking, resource efficiency, climate changes, photography, hydroponics, public speaking, responsible consumption, sustainability lifestyle, marine litters, and leadership. Thanks to our high solidarity, we have also managed to create an open season sharing event with some of the important communities, such as Ecoton, Zerowaste Indonesia, Marinelitter and Plastic-Free Profauna. This event is the peak of GENSALIM's mentoring.

In this event, we applied zero plastic principles. The committee consisting of members of GENSALIM and GENSALIM AMBASSADERS also provided gallons and cups that could be used by the community. We also provide some space for the outside community and some cafes to sell products to visitors, but with a note, they must not use packs of items to be used. We also urge those who sell some food and drinks to reduce packs containing paper plates and or glass cups or melamine cups that are not disposable.

In addition, we have also been invited to fill in a talk show live on Kosmonita Malang radio. We have also been interviewed by several mass media such as Malangpost, urbanasia, tempo.com, and other media

For our latest activity, we were invited to participate in an international event, Advancing Children’s Rights to a Healthy Environment. Which in this event our activities are more based on strengthening children's rights to a healthy environment. Here we can meet with friends from other countries such as Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Fiji, Cambodia, Samoa, the Philippines and Vietnam. For our friends who are from Indonesia, we met with several communities engaged in the environmental movement. From Medan, Jambi, Bandung Bogor and Lombok together we represented Indonesia for this International event.

Why do we really care about the environment and even willing to take up personal time and school time, and what's in it for us? The environment is the place where we live and if it's damaged, all the living things will receive the impact without exception. That's why we care so much about the environment that we will do everything we can to protect it.

When I tell you I'm mad about tiktok, I am mad about tiktok

Now, I don’t have the app, never have, partially bc I'm not a very active social media person, sans tumblr. I do have a lot of the apps, bc I have friendgroups and activieties that only communicate via a certain one.

I also suffer horrible executive dysfunction and am quite easily triggered into a panic attack, due to a long history of them.

So tiktoks, are the worst. They are horribly addicting, and without fail they get me stuck. I'll be bored, open instagram tiktoks out of habit, addiction, whatever you call it, and I'll be stuck for hours on end, in the same position scrolling.

I want to stop. But I can't.

Yesterday I was stuck like this for nearly 3 to 4 hours, even though I was freezing cold and the blanket was just next to me.

I couldn't move to grab it.

When I texted Hubby to ask for help, I immediately went back to tiktok, the youtube ones this time. I didn’t want to.

I just couldn't stop myself

It wasn’t until they called me I managed to get unstuck, after they asked me to do something, a thing that generally works.

After I had a mental breakdown for another hour or so.

I have a timer on my instagram, 15 minutes a day. Really, it’s just enough to answer messages and post an art piece, bc that’s what I use it for. Used to use it for. I tried installing an older version without the tiktoks, but then I literally couldn't post anymore.

Now, when my timer runs out on my instagram.

I have youtube left. I didn’t put a timer on youtube because well, I like the long videos, and don't usually consider them as wasting my time, bc they're artsy videos.

But now I've been on there for hours and hours and hours.

I can't turn the tiktoks off,

I can't install an older version of the app. It's a built in system app of my phone, and therefore can't be deleted. Same as facebook.

Out of the 7 socialmedia apps on my phone, only one doesn't have tiktok (bless you tumblr please stay as you are)

I find it horrifying, that there is a media I don't whish to see, that triggers me every single time to be stuck for hours on end, and I literally can’t avoid it.

If I would delete all the apps, the extreme version, the thing people always tell me to do 'bc if u don't it really is your own choice'

I would also delete my tv (Netflix) , my only connections to my friends (snapchat) my family and youthmovement communication (Facebook) my inspiration picture collection (pinterest) photos of my friends (instagram) and videos I use mostly for research (youtube)

Then you aren’t asking me to delete tiktoks from my life

Then you are asking me to pretty much delete every aspect of social media I use and their effects.

Please. If I would want tiktok, I would download tiktok. If your money eating app is not about that, give us a toggle button.

I already gave instagram a timer. Then I fell into youtubes trap. I now deleted (disabled y t) both of them

And I am just scared that I'll fall into the next spiral of horribleness

The first political music video of Kazakhstan: the view of youth

The clip-making industry in Kazakhstan is developing very quickly. Although it becomes difficult to surprise the audience, the clip "5000" by Irina Kairatovna (IK) (see at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk7Ff9s2nkw), a young group from Kazakhstan, after its release, lasted more than two months on the trending tab of Kazakhstani YouTube. This is because the clip is much like the documentary film covering the events associated with the struggle of ordinary people for basic human rights from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present day.

The film begins with a scene featuring a kerosene lamp in the center of the room, which represents hope and was like the light in the darkness. The person holding the lamp is Alikhan Bokeikhanov, the leader of the “Alash”, Kazakh national liberation movement in the early 20th century, who fought for the freedom and political rights of the Kazakh people. However, in the next shot, we see how the NKVD officers beat him: due to the strengthening of Bolshevism, the regime in the country became more repressive, and since the interests of the state with the Alash party were different, the party members were taken under special control. Additionally, we see him standing against a wall that bears evidence of gunfire, reminding us that Alikhan was not the first person to be shot on this wall. This is accompanied by a shot demonstrating how contemporary officials dislike recalling historical incidents and simply demonstrating how Alikhan's body is covered by a grinning man.   Further, you can observe the corpses of people symbolizing the repressions of 1927, when, as a result of the condemnation of the Soviet authorities, more than 25 thousand Kazakhs have shot under the articles "treason, armed uprising, and anti-Soviet propaganda." The corpses are being replaced by the current generation, who are watching a humorous video in TikTok with Alikhan's last photograph before his death, which caused great condemnation from the Kazakh society.

Further, the frame changes to the image of a modern official who sits in a luxurious office. An interesting observation is that there are pictures of beetles on the wall which means "I wish you luck with robbery" in prison words. The official sucks money into the pipe, which symbolizes the theft of budget money in the amount of 5.8 billion tenges allocated for the construction of the Light Rail in Astana. In the video, the moment in which an official gives his son a box with a toy, on which “Astana LRT” is symbolically written, is a reference to the real events of the money theft scheme.

The last narrative part of the video is also a reference to the scandal associated with the use of a photo banner with a Filipina by the authorities, calling for wearing masks during a pandemic. But having removed the mask, the participant of the IC acts as an official who speaks to the people with a congratulatory speech for the new year. At the same time, the lyrics of the song say: “My word is repeated by the whole people, but nevertheless everything is fine with me because I have 5000tg in my pocket (the average amount of a bribe in everyday corruption) and therefore there is only one gang in Kazakhstan - this is Kazakh propaganda.” At the same time, he turns to the window and watches the fireworks arranged in honor of the birthday of the first president of Kazakhstan. This part of the video, in my opinion, is the most painful for the Kazakh people, since the salutes from the bodies of people symbolize the peak of the coronavirus pandemic when many people died choking from lack of ventilation in hospitals, while the city celebrates the president's birthday. Also, fireworks in this context give the impression that these are the same bullets that were used to shoot members of the Alash movement.

In the last frame, we observe how the current youth, represented by the participants of the IC and the past generation, condemn and stop the current corrupt officials, whom we later see scattered on the map of Kazakhstan, which is painted over with white paint symbolizing hope for a brighter future. In my opinion, this shot is the strongest and most hopeful message for today's youth. The video ends with a segment of an archival video with Dinmukhamed Kunayev, in which the people express their gratitude to him for the fact that during the period of his leadership of the Kazakh SSR from 1960 to 1986, there was no hunger or war in the country.

The clip has a more educational and inspiring context and is considered as visual and auditory art that gives an impetus for Kazakhstani society to raise their heads and start fighting for their rights and future with the current regime.
