Obessed obsessed Obsessed with my hc that Tav as a sorcerer has never had anyone teach her magic by definition. Over the course of her life/adventures she had to sort of figure it out and go with whatever and sort of learn from whoever she was around that could do magic (which I think is actually a lot rarer in Faerûn than many a dnd character would have us believe) so its like a hodge podge thrown together mess of spells and weird words and gestures that don’t really make sense (because sorcerers cast with charisma so its more about belief that the spell will work) and then Gale mister ‘composer of the Weave’ himself who loves illusion magic because it lets him be whatever he wants and do whatever he wants putting his hands over hers and moving her fingers in the correct way and teaching her the words to say so little illusory butterflies float across the camp and telling her why these specific things have this specific result and finally letting her learn magic just for the fun of it instead of for survival-

thinking about how the only reason sunny started reconnecting with the world and realising he deserves love is because kel never gave up on him. even though sunny isolated himself from everyone kel still called him and tried to reach out. and it’s so pivotal it’s literally the key choice that determines whether or not you get the good ending. the path to healing and contentment depends on whether or not you take the hand kel offers you. and sunny learns to forgive himself because he keeps making that choice. he opens the door for kel, and therefore chooses reconciliation and personal growth. it’s why he’s able to save basil in the end. because kel is strong and resilient and kind. because kel is lonely and has grieved in silence for years but still looks for sunny everywhere he goes. because they’re both invisible. because everything that sunny needs, kel has.

A lot of “behind the scenes” stuff really colored fandom sentiment towards certain characters, Winn is hit hardest because the actor said some pretty off key stuff during one of the cons (Mon els actor too) so it’s pretty clear that’s the reason, because let’s call a spade a spade, Alex was way more “problematic” than anyone could ever claim Winn to be (which was not very). The thing about 2x09 is that I genuinely don't think Wilford realises Ruth is going to say no. Of course he sets it up that he wins some sort of power play either way but there's just a hint of confusion on his face, disbelief. Something he forgot to factor into his calculations when he carefully crafted how it would all go. I think he thinks that, reminded of her desire to be by his side, Ruth will capitulate. A high profile defection and proof that people will fall back into him. And people would have followed her, that's true. But he missed something, something I believe Alex had worked out by this point...
