You’ve been feeling… lost. The trees keep secrets from you and the clouds mix together like egg whites. You wish you knew what kind of pill you need to be on, you wish you knew what was wrong with you. You’re paranoid and seeing blank eyes watching you through the brick and mortar of your apartment. Your skin burns hotter than hell and sometimes you think that there are claws grabbing at your ankles when you sleep.
Church hasn’t been something you’ve bothered to attend since you were a kid, but you yearn for it now.
You pull your tattered coat around yourself as you step into the ancient building. The Church of Caladan is the oldest church in the country, if not the world. You hope you don’t look silly when you take caution with how hard your feet hit the stone. ‘You break it, you buy it’ must apply to old churches too.
Your unease rolls off you in waves, and a couple nearby priests seem to sense it in the same way that horses can sense fear. For a second you imagine bursting into flames, but there are hands groping your flesh through the great hellfire.
They’re about even in height, though one is clearly older. The gray hair weaved into his temples suits him more than it shows his age. The younger man has the same dark and wavy hair, but his gaze is a touch more haggard and rife with burden.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn't have burst in here…. I'm just looking around.” You rush to explain so they would go away, internally cringing at yourself.
“No, we want newcomers to feel comfortable enough to ask questions. I’m Leto,” He says and shakes your hand. “And this is my son, Paul. He’s recently started working here at the church with me.”
Paul steps up to shake your head as well, his mouth doesn’t move but you swear that the corners twitch. The stained glass windows cast a multicolored hue on his eyes and you find yourself lost in the swirling pools of light. Then black holes swallow the brightness in the irises, cosmic cannibalism.
You blink in alarm and awkwardly take a step back from the two priests. Father and son share a look between them that has the hairs on the back of your neck standing them.
Leto clears his throat and pointedly grabs your hands in both of his, encapsulating them in his warmth.
“You’ll have to forgive him, Paul’s never dealt with a lamb as darling as you before. He’s never dealt with one at all actually, you two can go through this together.”
Paul smiles but it fits all wrong, with teeth that should be fangs and with a tongue that appears forked. You blink again and all is well, the man before you fits his human skin like a glove. Maybe you should give them the benefit of the doubt, you’re convinced you’re going crazy anyway and Priests would never be capable of hurting someone. Ghosts aren’t real and Demons are just a crazed mother’s bedtime story.
“Um, okay. Thank you for accepting me.” That’s all you want, deep down, and they know that. “I felt moved to be here, I can’t explain it.”
Leto nods and Paul rubs your shoulder in sympathy. They would hiss that they know full well what called you here, but you might bleat and scurry away. You make a sad picture, abandoned and half insane, but that’s what they are for. To soothe and to serve you, to purify you from the inside out.
“Then all the more reason to stay and sit for a moment, don’t you think?” Paul finally speaks, the boyish tone surprising you.
“Paul’s right, let’s get this jacket off you, poor lamb. You must be freezing to death.” Leto coos, shushing your protests and carefully pulling the cheap thing off of you.
They take you on a little tour of sorts, pointing out the architectural details of the building itself as well as passionately delving into its history. Centuries of worship and service to the community, strangely never having sustained any kind of property damage. The priests speak of the church as if they were wandering through the halls all this time, and they chuckle when they tease you about how relieved they were that you didn’t suffer from a nosebleed. They’re quite common apparently.
“I think that should do it, i’d hate to think that we’ve been talking your ear off, dear.” Leto says, rubbing the inside of your wrist and directing you towards the large piano on the stage at the front of the church.
He must notice the sudden spark in your eyes at the sight, because his crow’s feet wrinkles deepen as he pulls the black piano bench out. Leto’s palm spreads out wide and he gives the leather seat a firm pat, signaling for you to sit down. Butterflies swirl in your stomach with anxiety but you feel too shy to refuse the clearly eager offer. You take a seat in front of an onyx grand piano far grander than you’re used to seeing in a church.
Leto soon occupies the space next to you. The bench is small enough that your thigh is pressing against his, warmth bleeds through your clothes and the indication of muscle really makes you wish you were alone in your room with a rose toy. You place your fingers on the pristinely polished keys and clumsily play some hodgepodge of a melody that you remember from your childhood. A mix of tchaikovsky and children's church songs.
You jump and play the wrong note when you feel thick fingers slide up your thigh. Your cheeks burn with heat but you focus on the music. Leto sighs with sugary sweet satisfaction but doesn’t move his fingers any further. He also doesn’t try to play, it’s almost like he only wants to bask in the domesticity of watching you perform. You think you hear him whisper “That’s it, who knew such a talented lamb would be gracing our doorstep?”
You get a flash of riding him on the piano, gasping into his hair chest when it breaks under the weight of your passion. Thin fingers come from behind to caress your ass as it moves, much colder than the cock you’re bouncing on. Then it fades away, and you’re back to making a fool of yourself with your little song.
Paul watches from the pulpit, eyes drinking in the way your curves expand and move as you squirm. His grip tightens on the bright wood but you’re none the wiser. You almost forget that he’s even there, something which he realizes because he strolls to stand behind you and his father. The music stops once you feel his breath on your neck and he bends down to tenderly pull your hair off of your shoulder, getting himself acquainted with the texture as he rubs his fingertips down the strands.
A distant voice calls out for Leto and he stands, smiling apologetically and thanking you for the performance. You feel adrift as you watch him walk away, reminding yourself that a man like him has other things to do than coddle you.
Paul slides a hand down your back and guides you down to the pew right up front, with a view of center stage, sitting right beside you with a wink. Once Leto returns, you spot the silver tray of communion wafers in his hands. The tray is set on the pulpit by his side.
The older man's eyes darken as he puts one in his mouth, and your brain shuts down when he snatches your face in his rough palms and kisses you sense no less. The wafer cracks as his tongue passes it into your mouth, the salty crumbs oddly making you crave something even saltier. There’s a sticky sweet sensation traveling through your body as you exchange saliva with him, your brain feels so foggy.
You break away, curling your hands into the collar of Leto’s uniform.
“Wait, what are you doing?” Your voice is small and not completely filled with disgust, you’re honestly too desperate for some form of human contact to make good decisions.
“We’re helping you, honey.” Leto purrs into the seam of your mouth, shaking his head in apparent fondness.
You’re too cute for your own good, at least they don’t have to worry about covering their tracks. Any incubus or succubus would be glad to get a hold of someone as lonely as you, but they wouldn’t love you like you deserve. You haven’t been watched by anyone as long as you’ve been watched by them. He hopes that Paul doesn’t shove his foot in his mouth and let it slip that he wished you gave them the opportunity to take you by force. His son carries a torch for a bit of predator and prey action, he likes playing with his food too much. You’re different from the scrambling mice that get torn to bits, though, you’re forever.
Plus, if you don’t get it now, he has no problems with explaining everything when you’re too weak to get up and try to run away.
Paul buries his face in your neck, spilling the vial of wine he had in his pocket down your shirt. It soaks the tank top underneath and though you try with all your might to wriggle away, the desire to resist gets brushed away under a heavy fog.
It’s nice to be touched, to be wanted after a lifetime of feeling the exact opposite. Perhaps this is why the lord guided you to his grandest home, so you could take his prophets into your body.
The black vanishes from Paul’s eyes and you sink against his chest, making out with his father as your eyes roll back into your head.
No words are uttered verbally as Paul shuffles to the side and pulls you to lie back on the pew’s cushion. Leto deprives you of his tongue and gives you a chance to breathe, which both men do with you in sync, resting their foreheads against you.
The nectar on your tongue tastes divine, little lamb, a voice whispers in your mind.
Let us give you purpose so you no longer need to roam, another begs.
You’re crying from the relief of having your mouth filled, Paul tilts your head up by your chin as he slowly slides his cock into your mouth. The ridges and bumps of what feels like piercings sends a jolt of arousal through you.
“Fuck-” He hisses and rubs your neck, watching you adjust to the stretch. “So warm-”
Leto tuts and clamps his hands around your hips, you’re already too fucked out to register sharp black claws taking care of your clothes. Leaving you bare. A shiver passes through your body as he drags his huge hand down to your pussy, being mindful not to accidentally scratch you. He intends for there to be no blood, this time, not a lot.
You gag on Paul’s length when Leto slams your hips against his pelvis, grinding not one but two large cocks against your cunt. If you were looking at his face, you’d see pitch black eyes and intimidating fangs, but all you can focus on is the hazy candle light and what must be someone playing an organ.
You catch a view of one of the stained class windows, a pair of angels cradling a lamb. It’s the only damaged part of the church, with cracks running along the angel’s wings. You’d think it’s a sneeze away from shattering entirely. Your view of it is blurred by Paul’s quick thrusts, gagging on it again. Drools drip onto the red carpet.
Leto grabs one of Paul’s curled horns and yanks his head to the side, scolding at him to be nicer to you. You’ve clearly never taken three cocks inside you, the one you’re servicing is proving to be overwhelming enough. Again, Paul’s new to this experience as well, just in a different way than you are. In a sense, it’s like he was born yesterday. The older man relays this to you through your choked moans and tears, assuring you that he’s taught Paul how to clean up his messes and be grateful. Something like this will be no different.
“Hush, beloved. I would have gladly speared your mouth but you would be dead before I could cum inside it.”
You see God in the sky when Leto slaps the tapered tip of one of his dicks against your slick entrance, God sees you when he gets the tight walls of ass to wrap around the other. Unbeknownst to you, it’s funny how so many things are, your blood pools around his balls. You’re in pain sure but you’ve never felt as much pleasure as you have in this instance. Both “Priests” smell your blood and well, only your body can tell the rest of the story. Later you’ll wake up to find that the building around you has ruby walls and it seems to be breathing. The shooting pain in your left hand is the result of two iron rings being chiseled into the bone of your ring finger.
The four leathery wings protruding from your back, with spikes poking out from the joints, are waiting to be discovered. As are the nubs sprouting out of your hair.
For now beads of sweat highlight your bouncing tits, Paul gropes one and Leto runs the edge of his claw along the side of the other. They’re hissing words that string together and disappear in the blink of an eye, voices slurred and sticky. Their babbling stops and starts again as you reflexively swallow around Paul’s cock when he skull fucks you without warning. They laugh too, but you can at least pretend that Leto’s tone is kinder.
“Alright, alright. That’s enough teasing.”
“But father-“
“I said no. And don’t think for a second that you’re getting anything else but their mouth.”
“Why the fuck not?”
“You lack self control, it wouldn’t be suitable for conception to occur like this. As delectable as their quivering cunt is, demons shouldn’t abstain from courting.”
“You’re saying that as you’re balls deep inside of them.”
“Don’t start with me, Paul.”
All while you’re making gurgling sounds in between the younger priest’s thighs. You hear growls that sound like a mountain lion’s emitting from both men, and the heavy thumps of something flapping in the air gets you holes clenching around Leto. Both men feverishly scratch up and down your limp body, but you’re so enraptured by the chorus of angels happening outside. You have no sense of time, it’s minutes or it’s hours before their cum spills inside of you. There’s too much to possibly keep it all inside, a good amount of it leaks from your cunt and your throat. Leto feels like Christ incarnate when you squirt all over him and yourself with the dumbest expression on your face. Multicolored pieces of glass fall down around you with the loud chime of an invisible bell.

Hello there, I just read that you do ouran high school host club yandere request. I just love that anime it reminds me of my childhood. And I love your work too especially the angsty cheater ones, they’re my favorites.
So actually going to the request: Yandere Tamaki x fiancé reader but Tamaki is neglectful of them and cheats on them with Haru (angst heaven). Basically Tamaki and Reader where engaged when they were children by their wealthy parents . Tamaki hated this and by extension he hated the reader too. Despite the reader trying to be to be the perfect fiancé and supports him from the sidelines, the reader even make sure that the mansion runs smoothly and even learned how to cook his favorite food and cater to his whims. Tamaki still being blinded by his distaste for the arrange marriage carelessly ignores all of reader’s hardwork and flirts with every woman in the host club. Then comes Haru and Tamaki just falls in love and in the back of his head, what better way to get back at his father than to marry a commoner. Reader finally having enough of Tamaki’s cheating and intentionally humiliating them in public, rebels against their parents and cancel the engagement. The reader just leaves Tamaki behind and goes into the countryside to live a peaceful life.. but surprised Tamaki goes full on delusional Yandere, he misses the reader’s devotion to him and wants to continue on with the marriage. When reader left Tamaki felt empty and he started to realize his mistake, He tracks reader down to beg for their forgiveness and so that they can get married as intended. Tamaki still think of you as his fiancé and he doesn’t realize that reader doesn’t want anything to do with him anymore.
Sorry for the long request, I just got excited when I found out that you write for Ouran High school host club. Thanks for reading!

Title: Blind
Pairings: Tamaki Suoh x Reader
WARNINGS: Yandere themes
Summary: Tamaki’s behavior proves too much for his fiance.
Part 2: here
blind
/verb/
deprive (someone) of understanding, judgment, or perception:
Sometimes, you wished Tamaki would just open up his eyes and see you. You, and not the engagement your families had forced upon you both.
You could tell from day one that Tamaki hated the idea and, subsequently, hated you for representing the ball and chain that attached itself to his ankle. You couldn’t blame him for being angry that his future freedom had been taken away, but you wished he wouldn’t blame you for it.
You weren’t much happier than him at first, but you decided to make the best of it. Tamaki was handsome, you could even appreciate that when you both were children forced to play together. He also had a soft side that you rarely got to see under all the silly dramatics. If only you could unlock that part of him, surely you both could be happy!
Then the host club started.
It’s easy to smile and say that you aren’t bothered, but it’s another thing to actually not be bothered with your fiance flirting with girls all the time. You could never help the twisting of jealousy in your gut anytime you heard or saw anything to do with the host club.
You’d tried to visit before. Make the best of things. But he’d blacklisted you as a customer, said with a careless tone that maybe you’d prefer one of the other boys. That stung.
“Make the best of it” became a mantra in your head, a desperate goal and coping method all in one. Eventually, Tamaki would either come to love you or accept that his future was predetermined by a piece of paper with his father’s signature.
Did you want a potentially loveless marriage? No, of course not. But that’s what happened to most people of your stature, so it wasn’t a surprise. If you could just make the best of your situation, you could be happy. Probably.
The changes in Tamaki really started when a new boy joined the club. You could tell right away that he was naturally a girl, but wouldn’t out him to the school if that’s what he chose as his path. You began to suspect that Tamaki knew this truth as well, because he always seemed so flustered around the boy.
Haruhi. You numbly repeated his name in your head. Even in the beginning, you knew, this relationship would be the downfall of your own.
Numbness overtook you as you caught the pair kissing and holding hands, looking happy and carefree, even outside of the club where there were no requirements for them to act like a cute couple or something.
They were trying to be secretive and, at first, you wondered how you were the only one catching them in the act. Then, it hit you like a speeding train.
Tamaki wanted you to see.
Your daily trips to the mansion were mostly in lonely silence. You cleaned the place like his maids probably should, made him his favorite meals, ran hot baths for him, and sometimes left him notes around the house to boost his self-esteem and cheer him up.
As time went on, it began to feel like empty actions. Duties without reward or even so much as acknowledgment. Things you did just because that tiny voice still cried “Make the best of everything!”
Well, you were getting sick of that voice. That hapless fool inside your head that didn’t seem to realize that things were speeding out of control. How could you make the best of anything, when he continually gave you nothing to work with.
You cried as you did those little things- what had once felt like happy little jobs became heavy chores that you couldn’t figure out why you continued. The tears blurred your eyes as you made each gift for Tamaki- gifts that would no doubt be cast aside and forgotten.
What was the point?
When Tamaki called a crowd together in the school’s entrance hall, standing atop one of the highest steps with his hands intertwined with Haruhi, you knew it was all over.
“Haruhi is actually a girl- and she and I have started dating!” His eyes seemed to dart to yours to gauge your reaction, but you didn’t dare show anything on your face. You were still a regal person, determined to not put your family’s name to shame.
“What? Is that true, Haruhi?” One of the girls in the crowd shrieked.
You didn’t need Haruhi’s answer nor the shy smile on her face to confirm the truth. You’d already known well before that this was the future you’d been helplessly barreling towards.
The crowd had mixed reactions. Some people were supportive and found the couple cute, others were jealous of Haruhi, and many people were confused on the whole matter. Those were the ones whose words shot like daggers into your heart.
“Doesn’t Tamaki have a fiance?”
“What will his father think?”
“Does that mean his engagement is canceled?”
Struggling not to break down, you pushed your way through the crowd, looking for an escape. The crowd was too thick and it was quickly too late.
You broke down crying, your large tears blinding you as little hiccups left your lips. Finally, the sea of people parted and you ran through it. You risked one look at Tamaki and were upset to see him looking concerned. How dare he be concerned when he was the one that hurt you?
You skipped your classes, opting instead to head straight home and confront your parents. The moment you were in front of them both, you broke down once more. They wanted to know who’d hurt you right away and, when your story of Tamaki was revealed, they vowed to rip the contract into little pieces.
They let you stay home the next few days. If you could, you’d stay home forever. How could you show your face after you’d been humiliated and cried like that in front of everyone?
You focused your thoughts and feelings into gardening. Today you cut the stems of flowers and placing them into your basket before bringing them up to the house. The chores you did were fit for the family’s gardener, but he was on vacation and you needed something to distract yourself with.
You heard your name called. Furrowing your brow, you raised your head and shielded your eyes against the sun. Was that…?
It was, a certain blonde boy was speeding towards you at the speed of light. Had he jumped the tall fence or broken the gate’s lock? Either method was concerning, to say the least.
You let out a feeble “hey!” when he kicked up some of the flowers in his path to you, but you were more afraid of what he had to say than of losing a couple of flowers.
Finally, he stopped in front of you and dropped to his knees. You stood, watching in shock as he kneeled in the dirt, in a motion that you’d expect a man begging the queen to spare his life.
“I’m so sorry, (Y/n). I- I was so stupid, so blind! I didn’t know how much I’d miss you when you were gone. Please come back, please! I’ll do anything!”
You stared at him in shock, “What about Haruhi?”
The man raised his head, his eyes glazed over as they met yours, “I took care of her.”
It wasn’t so much the words he said, as it was the chilling, lifeless tone in which he said it. You took a step back, nearly tripping over the small mound of dirt behind you.
“What did you do to her?” Your voice came out shaky and unsure. Tamaki would never hurt someone, would he? That thought was laughable, wasn’t it?
Tamaki grasped your ankles and began to cry, looking more pathetic than you could have ever imagined him. You never thought that Tamaki would ever beg on his knees to anyone, much less you.
“I’ll do anything.” Tamaki murmured. Somehow you knew.
He would definitely hurt someone, if they got in his way.

The girl stared at the ceiling once again, This scene was almost too familiar to begin with.
She sighed as if she’d gone threw this a million times which she had, this being her fifth life by now.
In each life she’d take her own after her twin sister would get executed, See y/n truly did adore her twin so much so that she couldn’t live without her.
In her first life she’d let it happen, then realized there was no meaning if she wasn’t around.
In her second life, she tried defending the princess, she’d gotten put in jail for trying to frame the imperial family. Then she committed suicide
In her third life she tried running away it didn’t work, it got repeated and she committed once again.
In her fourth life, she committed after she found out.
it was the same cycle again and again, the only thing she was thankful for in those lives was she got relive the happy moments with her sister over and over again.
the girl never once thought of blaming her sister for her own death, in fact in every life she’d blame her father, someone who was okay with murdering his own child over one who isn’t his to begin with.
She knew he probably laughed at her when he looked at her grave, If he ever even went. She knew he probably even laughed when he found out that she committed.
Saying that the princess hated him would be an understatement, she wished he’d burn suffer threw everything she’d been forced to go threw. Only then would she try to forgive the man.
“Athy stop running!” The blonde begged chasing after her sister, her short legs were getting her nowhere at this point.
from exhaustion the girl fell to the ground crying in her head mentally, she heard footsteps, “Y/n what’s wrong?” She tilted her head helping up her sister.
“You’re going to fast!” She cried, she clung onto her chest, Athanasia stared down at the girl.
“okay then we will walk!” She declared holding onto Y/ns hand and moving forward.
Athy at first was quite irritated by how clingy y/n was but she had gotten used to it, she’d adjusted her plan into the two of you running away when you two were older instead.
As usual you were looking out incase anyone was wondering why two toddlers were out.
“Athy do we go no-” for a split second you turned your attention to your sister who was biting gold, quickly you ran to her and scolded the blonde but before you could finish.
A shadow was cast upon the two of you upon looking at who it was, this hadn’t happened in any timeline prior to this.
You wanted to run away no you could, but your body wasn’t allowing you in the slightest, all you could do was stare at the blonde man who’s name was Claude de alger obelia, Who had gemstones for eyes, who was also your father the emperor.
What’s he doing here?, the girl though anxiously, this had never happened before, nor was her sister acting like in the past timelines but she never questioned it.
In fact she’d never actually seen the man, she’d heard about him, but she’d never seen him face to face.
“What is this?are they bugs take them away” the man demanded, y/n peered at her sister nervously realizing she had the same expression as her.
The gold coins and diamonds quickly fell to the ground make loud noises as they hit they hit the marble floor, it was noticeable in the silence making it even more awkward.
after a while he finally spoke again, “those faces I’ve seen them before” he sneered, “was it that dancer from siodonna?, you look like her” he added in the same tone.
When that scene ended, you could barely remember what happened or how you ended up in the emperors office seated next to your sister.
The blonde glanced around the room in suspicion, was he planning on murdering you in front of your sister? Why were you infront of him.
“Athy can talk” Y/n heard her sister speak she turned her attention back to her, right she wasn’t paying attention so what was this conversation even about? Was he about to murder Athanasia because he thought she turned out mute?.
after a while, y/n knew this was all an act from the way her sister was acting. But she didn’t bother speaking not like he was speaking to her anyway.
“I ordered them to bring out something kids would like” he spoke, noticing either of you were eating the food. “If you don’t eat I will have no choice but to punish the cook” he threaten his eyes trained on the two of you like you were animals.
“Thank you for the food!” Athanasia yelled stuffing her mouth with the deserts on the table. You swore you saw a tear fall down her face.
“And you why aren’t you eating?” He questioned, “I’ll eat later…” the girl responded, “thank you for the food your majesty” she added, She could feel Athanasia stare at her with a confused look.
it was left at that, the rest you erased from your memory, once the two of you returned you clung onto one of the maids legs and started crying.
Later that night, Felix came and informed the maids that you two would have tea together every day.
Claude soon found out the difference between the two of you, though you were twins you had shorter hair than her and more quiet, your existence was barely noticeable unless people payed attention.
Athy called claude her father, while you couldn’t even look at him without feeling disgusted in someway. The only thing anyone other than Athanasia was able to coax you into saying was “okay or thank you”. Anyone who wasn’t aware would assume your the older twin based on how you’d act, but Athy knew it was an act.
Everyone shrugged it off as you liking Athanasia more due to you two growing up together.
Once the emperor decided to give you a gift, Exactly to test your reaction. But it was the same. you’d thank him and never use the gift or wear it again. To say that he was irritated would be an understatement, this was the first emotion he’d shown other than his creepy smile.
He’d tried to find an answer as to why his youngest hated him with a passion, but he couldn’t find one he’d let you be and never irritate you once.
Every once in a while he’d ask her the question.
“Why won’t you call me father at least?”
“Why don’t you call me papa I thought younger siblings like copying their older siblings”
Once he resorted to some sort of begging watching your normal expression change into shock.
To say you’d had enough was an understatement, Each and every movement of his every word he’d spoke was irritating.
So the last time he’d opened his mouth and muttered out the saying you finally lost it.
“Why do you care” the girl asked her voice lower than a whisper, “what?” He responded clearly asking you to speak up.
“Why do you suddenly act as if you care do you think buying all this jewelry and junk would make us happy after you blamed us for our mothers death knowing she’d want us to be here you broke your promise with her all because you couldn’t handle losing her! You took it out on us and now you want waddle your way back into my life and bribe us with gifts? You want to kill Athy again like you always do you wanna murder her and make her regret being born when she did nothing! You’d probably laugh at me after I die again wouldn’t you? Life was better when you didn’t even know our names nor our looks I hate you I hate you so much words can’t describe it you’re not my father and you’ll never be! I hate you Claude I hate you with my entire soul”
the emperor was confused, Shocked maybe he stared at her speechless, he turned his attention to one of the servants in the room.
“Call the physician my daughter isn’t well” he spoke, the servant quickly scrabbling around.
“Your daughter seems just fine, your highness just make sure she drinks more water” he reassures leaving the room.
Still even with the rpm doctor confirming it, he couldn’t shake off this feeling that there was something off. From the way you said those words to be exact.
So he ordered Felix to bring him every book known about magic or sickness, he soon found out the reason.
Reincarnation, something that was told to be a myth, he believed a hundred percent that was what happened to you, it was uncanny because you aren’t dead, nor is your sister dead.
Although he doesn’t know how many lives you’ve had or how you even reincarnated, he knew that all of his past lives were why you were so wary of him.
He’d made a promise with himself that day, a promise that till the day he dies he’d keep you safe.
“Where are you going?” The blonde questioned his daughter, “Garden” she responded, without a word he picked her up and drew further away from the garden.
“Your hi-”
”From now on.. The second princess of obelia will only be allowed when requested if I find her out her room without it being brought to me first I’ll hang your heads on the palace walls. The same goes for the first princess” he declared his eyes fixated on the girl.
“Because as long as I’m alive nobody will be allowed to hurt you”
Tumblr media
I had a lot of fun writing the request ntg‼️‼️Hope u enjoyed reading pookies 😍💕💕

My Durge's stats pre-tadpoles are absolutely insane so I've been thinking what it'd look like if Orin failed to lobotomize him... Like the fight with him a Tav would have to win?
It'd be a bitch but there'd be fun options to make it easier and winnable
Him and Gortash would be working together still but what'd complicate things would be that Bhaal would've grown impatient and reduce Durge to a mess that would've dragged hinself in his temple and stay there. When Tav talks to Gortash, Gort has a massive fresh scar over his neck where Durge nearly killed him last time they were together. Gortash sends Tav to the temple but he fully expects/hopes they would die and that that could bring Durge back to his own mind.
If Orin would still be alive? Tav could make a deal with her that she'd help them find the temple, where she'd eventually need help in the combat with Durge, but if Tav would've helped her, that'd initiate a fight with the entire temple and with Orin, who'd be furious that you intervened.
Then, fight with Durge would be a bitch to win, but there would be some ways to get around and make it easier. Most of all would be useful a Persuasion or Deception proficency, and also going around Baldur's Gate and finding information about him - what would be Tav's best option would be to provoke Durge to a degree that he loses his already fragile cool and Bhaal forces a Slayer form on him - that way he loses his spellcasting abilities and also the double attack he gets from his fighter levels, and his paralysis weapons!
Options for that would get him to lose his shit would be
- [Deception] Gortash has sold you out, you mad dog. You've grown too unpredictable after what happened, we're here to put you down.
Has Advantage if Tav found notes between them or used Detect thought when talking to Gortash and asking him about his injury. He lies to Tav's face but thinks about how Durge mauled him last time they fucked and Gortash had to fight him off of him
- [Persuasion] Look at what you've became; Chosen of Bhaal, yet fighting His gifts? Your own Kin died for what you're rejecting so.
Only available if the above mentioned Orin thing happens. Durge stares at her corpse for quite a while, then proceeds to sort of... Give up. Accepts the Slayer and surrenders himself fully to his Father.
- [Persuasion] [Unholy Assassin] You think you know better than your own god, Chosen? You, who has failed him so in every way?
He starts to yell at Tav that he didn't fail, then as if something hit him, clutches his head and starts begging Father for forgiveness (reciting some parts of Prayer of Forgiveness). While he prays, he cuts himself, the blood drips down his arms and draws itself into the circle of Summoning for the Slayer.
When Tav wins, Durge lays there dying for just a bit longer, stares into nothing and clutching at his wounds and begging Father to forgive him because "im not done yet, Father, please, I can do better, plea-!" And then his eyes roll up suddenly and he dies in a moment, when Bhaal chooses so. His body falls apart and leaves behind only the Stillmaker, his Netherstone, and a half-writen letter that's like Prayer of Forgiveness, but adressed to Gortash and one Durge never got to finish.
The idea is very rough but essentially I love the thought that Bhaal is the one who fucks it all up because he can't be patient for two minutes, and Gortash is still delusional enough for him to hope Durge can go back to normal. If you win and kill Durge, Gortash will be upset and surprised, but will kind of shut off the grief in the moment to focus on dominating the brain. If you would've lost, the canon ending would be that Durge pulls through with the stones, him and Gortash get the Brain under control, and then Durge almost immediately slaughters both of them, leaving Toril to the Brain's mercy.
Another bonus option in the dialogue would be to tell him that you killed Gortash, but if you lied or didn't have Gortash's head to prove it, he would just laugh at you. That option wouldnt be a good idea in any way, because if you wouldn't pass the deception check (DC20) or wouldn't have the head, the laugh would clear his mind enough for him to focus on the fight (not as a Slayer) and if he WOULD believe you, he'd get so angry that he would start a fight with an extra feature that would be an absolute bitch to deal with.

my tears ricochet but its jason grace and his 'lover' that he cant be bothered to give attention to
"even on my worst day, did i deserve, babe all the hell you gave me? 'cause i loved you, i swear i loved you 'til my dying day" but its his lover knowing she wasnt perfect, but also knew she didnt deserve the way he treated her.
"i didn't have it in myself to go with grace and you're the hero flying around, saving face" but its his lover watching him be everybody else's hero and prioritizing people he hardly knew.
"and if i'm dead to you, why are you at the wake? cursing my name, wishing i stayed" but its his lover watching him at her funeral from elysium and seeing how pathetic he's acting, saying he misses her, as if he didnt once tell her in an argument she was the last thing on his mind at the time.
"you know i didn't want to have to haunt you but what a ghostly scene, you wear the same jewels that i gave you as you bury me" but it's the way he can't think of anything else but her, no matter how hard he tries, after she's gone. but it's the way that he had the audacity to wear the necklace he gave her when they started dating to the funeral.
"'cause when i'd fight, you used to tell me i was brave" but its their 'honeymoon phase' where he used to treat her as if she was the only person he'd ever care for.
"and i can go anywhere i want, anywhere i want, just not home" but it's the way he infiltrated her home that once adored her and made it all about him. the way camp half blood was once the only real home she ever knew, but now it wasn't. the way that jason once served as a home to her, only for a very short amount of time, but she was incapable of reaching that home as well.
"and you can aim for my heart, go for blood, but you would still miss me in your bones" but it's the way that he now realizes and regrets how much and badly he hurt her. the way she'll forever haunt him. the way he refuses to ever forgive himself and knows that apart of him died in shame that day.
"and i still talk to you (when i'm screaming at the sky)" but it's the way that when she was alive, his lover would beg all the gods for a way out. the way she wouldn't allow herself to leave but begged for the strength to continue fighting for his love that simply was no longer there.
"and when you can't sleep at night (you hear my stolen lullabies)" but its the way that jason can't stop replaying the one video he has of her singing by the campfire and the way he can't fall asleep without listening to it.
"you had to kill me, but it killed you just the same" but it's the way that jason could've saved her from dying, but chose to help another camper in need, thinking you'd just get hurt and would heal eventually. the way that decision is the reason why he can't get out of bed in the morning, the way that decision is what causes him to lose himself.
"you turned into your worst fears" but its the way that jason realizes that he's no better than his father, the man he hates most, for being so careless and heartless when it came to somebody who loved and adored him in a way nobody else could.
"look at how my tears ricochet" but it's jason grace and his lover who both lost themselves for each other, but at different times. one of those times, being far too late.
Tumblr media
his lover died in battle against an invasion of monsters in the woods of camp half blood. jason saw here just minutes before she passed, knowing he couldve helped her, but instead decided to help the camper who was only a year younger than her and who's name he didnt know. he figured she'd be fine and accepted the fact she'd get hurt, but knew she would heal later. years later, he's still killing himself from within for being unable to answer the question, if he knew it all then, would he do it again?

Elain and Lucien knew they were mates from the moment they locked eyes.
They both felt the link between them when he reached out through the bond.
It's confirmed their bond is able to be scented.
Based on everything we've been given that means Elain and Lucien are bound on a biological, molecular level, something that cannot be undone.
I'm not saying Elain has to accept Lucien for this reason but it does not make logical sense for her to forever ignore Lucien because he is (in canon) an actual part of her on a molecular level. Two souls sharing one thread.
The only way for Elain to have growth, the only way for her to know herself as she now is, is to embrace Lucien. Not embrace him as her lover but embrace him as someone who will always exist inside of her because he ALWAYS will, jut like Rhys told Feyre in ACOWAR.
She doesn't owe Lucien her time or attention but she owes it to herself to discover why fate, the Mother, decided that she would always be connected to him because it's not something that can be undone even without a romance. From the moment of their bond snapping the Elain of the future was never going to exist without that link to him.
Does that seem unfair to some? Maybe but since when is anything fair to these characters? Was it fair that Elain's fiancé rejected her? Was it fair the King of Hybern killed her father? Was it fair that Feyre was kidnapped by Tamlin or manipulated into a bargain with Rhys or Nesta was forced into training with Cassian when she didn't want to be or that Lucien had his lover slaughtered in front of him?
Fantasy books aren't about what's fair but about a character learning to embrace the path fate has set them on.
Knowing that fate has set into motion something that Elain can not escape (any anti's trying to magic away her bond so she can be free and clear of Lucien are making Elain's journey a cop-out, it's too neat and tidy to say "no worries! You don't need to deal with your bond because I'll conveniently magic it away for you!) it's logical to assume that Elain will have to eventually face that which she's hiding from. She will have to truly confront Lucien and their bond because it's the only way for her to finally come to terms with who she is now and that fact should scare anti's because there's not much that Elain could dislike about Lucien. He loves nature as she does, they share a similar sense of humor, they try to avoid violence, prefer to forgive rather than seek revenge, apologize for their mistakes, are both wise, both enjoy making friends and being social. These are clear reasons the mother felt they were equal to one another, why they were made mates. The author may have given Elain a little fling on the side after her broken engagement but do you know what she was also doing while laying those "cute" little E/riel moments? Building up the narrative that it is Elain and Lucien who are most similar, who share the most in common, that Lucien is the son of the HL of Day and Elain wants sunshine, reminding us time and again that mates are special.
Sure, Sarah could go a different route and give us a rejected bond even after Elain is ready to face the person who now shares a link to her on a biological molecular level but when the author has done nothing but remind us how well suited Elain and Lucien actually are I'm not getting the vibe that's what will happen in their story. Facing her bond with Lucien means finally facing all that she is, something that she's clearly been hiding from when you consider Rhys's words in the Feyre bonus, that maybe she's acting a certain way for fear of disappointing others (and consider that her mate while also kind and good, is also capable of getting his hands dirty when necessary).

Yandere!Daemon Targaryen x darling!wife would include:
Tumblr media
Daemon is already a dangerous person due to his possessiveness, arrogance, and love of violence. However, his yandere tendencies accentuate those traits even further. Once he sets his eyes on his darling, nothing can stop him from persuading her. Known to be impulsive, he deals with most of his issues with brute force, and if it means securing you, so be it.
He makes it no secret that he is interested in you and wants to marry you. Daemon becomes quickly irritated when his brother reminds him of his marriage to lady Rhea Royce. More so when he denies his offer to take you as a second wife. If killing his bronze bitch is what he must do, then fine. Surely a lot of ladies fall off their horses. It’s not as if anyone is willing to accuse the brother’s king of murder.
In the event that his brother still refuses his approval after everything, Daemon will proceed to take his next course of action. Daemon will seduce you; constantly bombarding you with gifts, from jewels so valuable that they can buy an entire army to the most heartfelt letters. Your maidenhood will be taken as soon as you become vulnerable and open up to him.
 During your intercourse, Daemon left hickies in the most noticeable places and tightly gripped your waist or leg. Fearing someone would catch you, you begged him to leave, which he eventually did, but not before a servant entered. And while the servant was standing there awkwardly unsure what to do, he had the nerve to kiss you goodbye. He also took your bed sheets, which was the most bizarre course of action.
He will meet with your family (specifically your father) the next day to discuss his plans to marry you. Using the bed sheets for evidence, he’ll tell your father that he took your maidenhood and show him the marks that he left on you. More so, the servant was also a witness. All of this forces your father’s hand and eventually the king. Even though Viserys was furious that his brother would do such an abhorrent thing, there wasn’t much one could do as no other lord would ever want to marry you after this.
Daemon wouldn’t be as bothered if you resented him. It was your choice to lie with him. And eventually you’ll have to forgive him, as he’ll be your husband soon. Fight all you wish. You will still be dragged to the altar in Daemon’s arms. After the wedding vows have been exchanged; you silently accept your fate seeing Daemon’s triumphant smile. You were fully his now.
Daemon may be violent and impulsive, but he won’t hurt you. He may, however, grip you tightly if you anger him, but those instances are merely warnings for you to behave. It does not mean, however, that he will not harm those who surround you. That’s where Daemon’s possessiveness really shines. In the event that you were to flee or avoid him, he would ensure that your family and friends suffer the consequences; he is the king’s brother, after all.
Unlike most men, he may not find the idea of having children appealing. It’s not out of duty that he has children, but to control you. When you married him, you may already have been pregnant, so you will probably want to avoid drinking moon tea in order to avoid Daemon’s wrath. Daemon knows you don’t love him, but he’ll expect you to love his children. As you come to love his children, you will come to love him too, and it will be harder for you to leave him; basically your children will be used as guilt trips.
He’s also not the worst husband out there and he’ll constantly remind you of this. Sure, he might have baby trapped you and forced you into a marriage against your will, but have you seen what other men do to their wives? There is nothing better than receiving gifts from Daemon. He spoils you by giving you the most luxurious silk out there and jewelries made out of diamonds. In case you enjoy rare fruits, he is sure to send you cartels and cartels of them. No other husband would do what he does to satisfy his wife.
Because of his possessiveness, few in the court rarely see you without him. Daemon dresses you in Targaryen colors and makes you wear dragon-embodied items to show everyone who you belong to. Many lords and ladies find it quite challenging to converse with you when Daemon is constantly glaring at them. In his absence, he expects you to be in your shared chambers; only leaving when he returns. In rare cases, he will have you ride with him on the back of Caraxes.
It can be quite easy to get into Daemon’s good graces. Still, Daemon isn’t anywhere near stupid. He can tell when you try to manipulate him or are plotting to escape. Sometimes he’ll act along out of amusement only to cut the act just so he can see your shocked expression. Serving this as a reminder that he’s in charge.

🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘 🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕
Aemond makes a choice. YN thinks about her choice
🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘 🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕
Masterlist
Aemond didn’t know what was going through his mind when he saw his mother’s face. He knew when he walked into the room of his sister that something had happened to his father. Later as he sat in his mother’s room he contemplated what he was to do. He knew his grandfather and mother meant to plant his brother on the throne and he had to decide what side he would be on. He knew what his mother wanted of him but he couldn’t bear the thought of again siding against YN. He had once before and had lost her for years, now he had the chance to have her at his side but he also had a duty to his side of the family.
He barely acknowledged Cole’s entrance in the room as he thought about what he was going to do. As his mother talked about Aegon, Aemond gave a mental sigh.
‘Forgive me, YN,’ Aemond thought.
“I’ll come with you.” Aemond said, solidifying what he was to do. His mother protested but he stood up and looked down at her. “Cole needs me, mother. Ser Erryk isn’t the only one who knows Aegon’s doings.”
With that he left the room with Cole and started to make his way out. But something was telling him to check YN’s old room. He made a turn and entered, not knowing what he was looking for, till he saw it. A letter left with his name on it for him to find. YN knew he would come to her room and left this for him to find. As she used to do when she and he would sneak through the castle and leave notes for each other. He picked up the note and his heart stopped at the contents.
I’ll accept your offer.
Don’t disappoint me.
-YN
So she was going to accept his marriage offer after all. Had his father been alive then YN and he would have officially announced their betrothal in weeks time. He regretted so many things but he swallowed his regret and tucked the note away. Cole asked if anything was amiss and Aemond turned to him and said nothing. Going to leave before sparing a glance at her old room once more. He chose his family but now he said nothing.
‘Forgive me, YN’ He thought once again and went to find his brother.
~~~
YN sat in her room, wondering about the note she left Aemond. She wondered if it was a mistake. It wasn’t anything official but it was a promise between the two and YN always kept her promises. She knew her brothers would hate it and probably demand that YN choose another husband, she knew her family might cry at the sight of her with Aemond but YN needed to see the family together again. If only for her grandfather whom she loved so dearly. She felt he didn’t have long left but she couldn’t imagine causing him more strife. She didn’t want to disappoint her family but she felt that this was the best course of action.
What she couldn’t understand is why Aemond hadn’t sent her a letter yet in response. She knew he would’ve gone into her rooms by now and she left the letter in an obvious place so why hadn’t he sent a raven for her? YN finished unbraiding her hair and setting oils in her scalp and hair. YN sighed and stood up. She needed to get out of this room and wander.
She eventually found her way into the same room as Luke and smiled somewhat at her younger brother. He was looking down at the table map specifically at Driftmark, his face looked troubled. YN didn’t say anything but she made her way over to him and held his hand in her soft one. He still looked troubled and YN must’ve reflected that back to his face before she kissed his forehead. She loved her little brother and never wanted to disappoint him .
“What troubles your mind?” He asked before she could ask him the same.
“I’m thinking about my marriage offers. Whether I should officially take Aemond or not,” YN sighed and brought her hand to his cheek. “Nothing you should worry about. I just have a lot to think about.”
“I can’t help but think of grandsire. About what’ll happen to me when he dies,” Luke sighed. “I wish you were to inherit Driftmark. You are the better sailor and they would accept you more.”
“I know. I know you feel upset but this is how things are. A woman doesn’t inherit the driftwood chair,” YN stroked her thumb on his cheek. “Grandfather would want you to inherit Driftmark.”
Lucerys still looked troubled, YN could tell that wasn’t what he wanted to hear but it was what he needed to hear. YN tried to smile at him to cheer him up but it was to no avail. Lucerys always felt inadequate compared to his sister. Though their mother never compared the two, others would always bring up YN when talking about the Velaryons and Luke’s place amongst them. He knew that YN would’ve been more suited to Driftmark
“There you are.” The two looked and found their mother walking into the room. YN pulled away from Luke and smiled at her mother. Luke just looked more troubled. He gave another glance at the place of Driftmark on the table before he decided to speak.
“The Sea Snake is going to die, isn’t he?” He asked. YN furrowed her brow at him and bit her lip.
Their mother looked at the ground and sighed. “Luke-”
“I can’t be Lord of the Tides.” Luke interrupted. “Grandsire was the greatest sailor who ever lived. I get greensick before the ship even leaves the harbor. I’ll just ruin everything.”
“Luke. It’s your birthright. You will have Driftmark-” YN tried to ease him.
“I don’t want Driftmark,” Luke interrupted once again, his gaze still on their mother. “It should’ve passed onto Ser Vaemond. Or onto YN, not me.”
“We don’t choose our destiny, Luke. It chooses us.” Rhaenyra tried to explain.
“Grandsire let you choose whether you’d be his heir. You let YN choose whether she’d be yours.” Luke stated looking at YN who tried to give him reassuring looks.
“And do you want to know the truth of it?” Rhaenyra asked, making her way closer. “I was frightened,” Rhaenyra brought a hand up to stroke her daughter’s shoulder length hair. “I was.. four and ten. Same as you are now, Luke. I wasn’t ready to be Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.”
YN brought her hand up to hold her mother’s, feeling comfort at the touch. Rhaenyra smiled at her daughter before turning back to Luke. “And, in time, I came to understand I had to earn my inheritance.”
It didn’t seem to convince Luke.
“I’m not like you,” Luke shook his head. YN looked to him.
“In what way, sweet boy?” Their mother asked.
“I’m not so… perfect.” He sighed.
Rhaenyra smiled and stepped closer to him, placing kisses on his forehead. “I am anything but. My father looked after me and helped to prepare me for my duties. Your mother will do the same for both of you.” Rhaenyra smiled at her two children.
Ser Lorent stepped in the room greeting Rhaenyra. YN looked at the man and let go her mother’s hand. She wanted to walk around some more but decided to wait till her mother dismissed her.
“Good morrow, Ser Lorent.”
“Princess Rhaneys has just arrived on dragonback. She urgently requests an audience with you and Prince Daemon.”
With that Rhaenyra turned to her children once again and bid them farewell for the moment. YN turned back to Lucerys and gave him a hug. He buried his face in her neck as he used to when he was younger. YN pulled away after a good few minutes and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“No matter what happens. I love you, even if I did get mad at you a few nights ago,” YN reassured him.
“You promise?”
“I swear it,” YN said and gave one last kiss to his forehead.
She walked out of the room, intent to find a wall overlooking the harbor. She stood there for a while thinking about everything before her grandmother came to her saying that her mother needed her.
YN was not given the chance to greet her grandmother before a guard came and whisked her away to her mother. Presenting YN with a sight she would not forget.
Part 1: Welcome to Hawkins
(Slowburn) Billy Hargrove x Reader
...Part 2, ...(Masterlist)
A/N: I would like to say that I have recently tested positive to Covid and will be out of work until the 17th of July. This sucks, kind of, because I love my job. But, it also means that 98% of my time will not be dedicated to this fic… It has kind of spiralled out of control and I have written so much already. I hope you guys like this and although the main character's eventual pairing will be with Billy Hargorve, this is a SLOW burn, it is going to take a while because the reader knows how valuable they are and would never settle for the abusive asshole Billy is when he is first introduced. We are here for the DEVELOPMENT. No matter what, I enjoyed writing this. I hope you enjoy reading it.   Word Count: 2,472 Warnings: mentions of death, trauma, guilt
Tumblr media
Billy Hargrove was an asshole. There was no way around it. He was rude, crude, drank like a fish, and smoked like a chimney. He had his mothers eyes and his fathers temper.
In a seemingly random series of events you found your fate tangling with his. It’s hard for you to say exactly when this convergence began. But, it was most likely around the time your world turned upside down.
When Will Byers disappeared in November of 1983, you were one of the first people questioned. You were 17 at the time but you had been babysitting in Hawkins since you were 14. It was just your mom and you for as long as you could remember. Your mom was a nurse at Hawkins General Hospital and worked the night shift. She always made sure you had enough but that didn't stop you from helping with the bills where you could.
You regularly worked for the Wheelers, and even got paid extra on campaign nights. Normally it wasn’t a bad deal. Mike, Dustin, Will, and Lucas were always well behaved. All you really had to do was watch them, feed them, put them to bed, and make sure they didn't die. Sounds simple, right? Unfortunately, Hawkins was cursed.
Will didn't make it home that night and your life would forever be altered by the madness that ensued.
You had been wracked with guilt when you heard one of your kids had gone missing. Nancy tried to reassure you that there was nothing you could have done. You had been watching them all day and when you had left that night, they were still playing D and D. There had been plenty of people in the house, including Nancy. She even tried to invite you to come along with her and Barb to Steve’s party. She said it would help get your mind off things and just relax, like the three of you always did. You almost accepted. Almost.
You would never fully forgive yourself for turning them down. Even when Barb had called you that night, begging you to come so she wouldn’t have to be the fifth wheel. You refused, giving her some half baked excuse about having a headache.
That would be the last conversation you had with her.
You planned to apologise to both of them the next day, after school. You would make it up to them. Rent a sappy romantic movie, eat popcorn, and they could tell you all about the party. Those hopes would soon die when Nancy explained what had happened at the party and how she hadn't seen Barb since the night before. The two of you went over to the Harrington’s place, looking for any sign of your lost friend. That afternoon in the woods would be your first brush with the paranormal.
Going to the police got you nowhere. The guilt ate at your insides until you were desperate for answers. So, when Johnathan Byers  told you about monsters coming out of walls, you believed him.
That night in the woods, when Nancy disappeared, it nearly broke you. How was it possible for you to lose so many people. It just wasn't fair. You cried when Johnathan pulled her from the hole in the tree. Your relief would be short lived. When Nancy described the other side it turned your insides. Just imagining Barb trapped in a place like that… you would have done anything to rescue her.
You had never had many friends but Nancy and Barb were the best friends a girl could ask for. The three of you had become instant friends when you first met as children. They were a year behind you in school but were so smart and always helped you to understand the subjects you were weaker in. They were the only reason you were passing pre-calculus and that you had any socialisation outside of babysitting. Whatever that thing was, you were going to find a way to beat it and rescue Barb.
You, Nancy, and Johnathan made plans to lure in the monster and kill it. There was a slight snag in the plan when Nancy saw what Tommy H. had written on the theatre board and Johnathan ended up in handcuffs. Luckily, Jim Hopper was the closest thing you had to a dad. Well, more like a drunk uncle. You were thankful he believed all of you when you explained what was happening. Having Hopper in your corner mady you feel a million times better. Unfortunately, the feeling was not mutual. Hopper made it very clear how he felt about you being involved in all this. If you weren’t as stubborn as him, he would have made you go home.
When he saw how determined you were to save Barb he couldn't help but smile, pulling you into a tight hug. He grumbled that it was no use, that you were just like your old man. It always made you weirdly happy and sad at the same time when he said things like that. You couldn’t remember much about your dad, he had died before you got the chance to really know him. You knew that He and Hopper had served together in the Army. But, Hopper didn't like to talk about it much.
When you were all on the same page, you managed to contact Mike on the radio after you remembered it was how the little group liked to communicate. Seeing the kids all together again made you happy they were safe but you couldn't help but feel the void left by Will. You knew Nancy felt it too. There was something unspoken between the two of you. Like you couldn’t look each other in the eye without thinking of Barb. It made your heart ache.
When the time came for El to find Barb and Will, you could barely breathe. Then you heard the young girl murmur a single word.
“Gone.”
Gone. Barb was gone, and it was all your fault. It felt like someone had scooped out your insides. All you could think about was Barb and how you should have been there for her. But now it was too late, she was gone forever. You didn’t realise you were crying until Hopper pulled you into his arms.
“It wasn’t your fault, kid.” he had said, squeezing you tightly. His words fell on deaf ears. You felt numb, like the world wasn’t really there. You watched him leave with Joyce, on the way to rescue Will…
You sat alone in the empty halls of the Middle School, drowning in your own thoughts, until you felt Nancy sit next to you. She didn’t look at you, only taking your hand and stating, in an eerily calm voice, “We’re going to kill it.”
Then the numbness inside of you gave way to a new feeling. It was a hot feeling that spread through you, burning. Vengeance.
You, Nancy, and Johnathan gather your supplies, set the trap, and slit your palms. Then, you waited. There were a thousand things you thought could happen that night. But, Steve Harrington showing up was the last among them. And it only went south from there.
After the first attack you were shaken. You would have run out of the house with Steve if it weren’t for the thought of Barb alone. That thing was the reason you felt this way. It was the reason your friend was gone. You were going to kill it, or die trying. You gripped your father’s colt .45 and stood with your back against Nancy and Johnathan.
It all happened so fast. The gun in your hand jerked as you fired round after round into the monster. You turned around and for a split second, your eyes locked on Nancy’s. You saw the fear there an instant before sharp claws raked through the flesh of your back. You felt the warmth of your own blood gushing down your back, then the pain. That’s the last thing you remember about that night.
You don't remember Steve coming back, saving you with the spiked bat, Jonathan setting the thing on fire, or when all three of them hauled your limp body into the back of Steve’s car.
You wouldn’t be there for the reunion with Will or for the celebration of his return. You would miss Christmas and New Years. You wouldn't regain consciousness until the second week of January, 1984. Sometimes you would get flashes, little pieces of that time. Nancy’s voice, someone squeezing your hand, the beeping of monitors. But mostly it was your mom crying.
When you woke up you were alone. It felt like your mouth was made of sandpaper and when you opened it to speak, nothing came out. It took you a moment to realise you were in a hospital and when you moved to sit up, pain shot down your spine. Every bone in your body was aching and each movement sent new waves of pain along your back. Before you had another second to think, you heard a gasp from the doorway. Your mother dropped the coffee she had been carrying in her rush to your side. Her eyes were filled with fresh tears and she was rambling a million miles a minute. Asking you questions, looking you over, making sure you were actually awake. You were happy to see her but little did you know that this would be the norm for the coming months.
You were never alone. There were always nurses, or doctors, or men in suits. Everyone had questions. How were you feeling? Where was the pain? What do you remember? After a week it got old and after a month it was downright maddening.
As far as anyone knew, you had fallen victim to a bear attack. It would have been simple, if it was only the flayed flesh of your flanks that needed to heal. Unfortunately, the infection that set in made things complicated. The government sent specialists to look after you and keep things under wraps. They kept you in a facility, only allowing certain people to care for you.
The fevers were hard to shake, they were treating you with so many different drugs you lost track. When your fever broke, you always started to feel better, but somehow it always came back.
They concluded that it was most likely some type of virus that had been transmitted to you via the creature's claws. There was only so much they could do. As the weeks went on, the time between flare ups grew longer. When you were finally well enough to have visitors, all interactions were closely monitored.
Your most frequent visitors were your mom, Hopper, Nancy and Steve. Jonathan stopped by sometimes, but not often.
When school started again you were still unable to sit up on your own. Nancy and Steve undertook the task of keeping you up to date on your school work. With not much else to focus on, besides your pain, you had a lot of time to study. Your grades weren’t half bad, all things considered.
When you weren't doing catchup work for school or visiting or being poked and prodded by doctors, you wrote. It had always been a passion of yours and more recently it had become a means of escape. Being trapped in that sterilised linoleum prison was driving you mad. So when you felt the walls closing in around you, the only way out was with a pen and paper.
Before everything, you would write about fantasy worlds and romantic adventures. Stories where the heroes triumphed and love conquered all. But now, you couldn’t seem to conjure up those scenarios. The tales that came to life on your page now were darker. There were no good guys or love stories, there were only tales of fear and those things that haunt us when we are alone at night. Stories about the horrors hiding in the shadows all around us.
No one read these stories but you.
After 6 months of treatments, recovery, and rehab, you were finally discharged. Going home somehow made you feel even stranger. Things were the same but somehow profoundly different. Your mom had taken a couple shifts off work to look after you when you got home. You were thankful for her but there was no hiding the amount of stress she had been under while you were in the hospital. She had always had circles under her eyes but in the past few months they seemed to grow darker.
You tried to go back to the way things were. You hung out with Steve and Nancy, listened to them talk about their lives and plans for the future. You were happy for them, it seemed like they had really grown. But for some reason, it left a sour taste in your mouth. You felt like all they wanted to talk about was the future but all you could think about was the past. You eventually stopped going with them, always giving excuses about headaches. And eventually, they stopped asking.
You found yourself alone a lot. Not that you minded. After having 8 months of constant supervision, you could use some alone time. The walls in your home started to remind you too much of being stuck in the hospital. So, you liked to be outside. You would go for long walks almost every day. It felt good to be outside. Freeing.
You would leave your house early in the morning, after your mom got back from her shift. You would take a small bag, packed with a water bottle, a book, and your journal. You would pick a new direction every day, always finding new places you haven't walked yet. When you got tired you would find a quiet place to sit and read or write or just think.
You thought about Barb often. You tried to think about all the good times you had together. How she always managed to explain things so you could understand. All the sleepovers the two of you had. She was so smart and kind. You missed being able to call her just to talk. You avoided thinking about how her last moments must have felt. How alone and scared she must have been. Each time your thoughts turned to it you could feel yourself recoil. It felt like touching a hot stove.
Sometimes you couldn't help it. You would think about that last conversation you had with her. How you had been so selfish and dismissive of her. Then you would cry as you walked.
That's the way things went for a while. Then, one day in the middle of July things changed. You would never forget the first time you met Billy Hargrove.
The victim's father expressed compassion for the young defendant, who stood to the side of the courtroom in prison garb, with his hands cuffed.
Alan Faynzilberg, New Jersey inmate 821030E, born 1997, incarceration intake December 2017 at age 20, released November 2023
Vehicular Homicide -- Reckless Driving, Manufacture/Distribution/Dispense of Controlled Substance
In October 2017, a Belleville New Jersey man was sentenced to eight years in prison for a drunken head-on collision that took the life of a young father of two in May 2016.
During a somber afternoon hearing in Superior Court in Newark, the judge said he had seen other victims' family members express forgiveness toward their loved one's killer. But none, he added, had ever done what Pietro Davila did following the death of his son, 33-year-old Luis Davila.
"I've never had a victim's family member come before me and request that he be put on the defendant's visitation list," said Superior Court Judge Ronald D. Wigler.
And while Wigler wished defendant Alan Faynzilberg, 20, success in eventually turning his life around, the judge was not as forgiving as Davila's family, and refused to reduce the 8-year sentence recommended by prosecutors in a deal that led to Faynzilberg's guilty plea earlier on June 26.
Faynzilberg was jailed for 10 months following the incident, then released, but has been back in custody since the prior week, when he turned himself in on what was supposed to be his original sentencing date.
Pietro Davila, 59, of Jersey City, was one of three people who made victim impact statements. But rather than condemning Faynzilberg, DaVila expressed compassion for the young defendant, who stood to the side of the courtroom in prison garb, with his hands cuffed.
"I feel content, because we are Christian," Davila said through an interpreter. Turning to Faynzilberg, he added, "This young man, Alan, on my behalf I forgive him."
The victim's sister, Giselle Davila, was equally compassionate, telling Faynzelberg, "I hope that when you complete your sentence, you change your life for the better."
Assistant Prosecutor Betty Rodriguez said during the hearing that Faynzilberg admitted using alcohol, marijuana and the tranquilizer Xanax prior to the crash. She told the judge that in that and prior arrests for drug-related offenses, Faynzilberg had repeatedly shown "a complete disregard for the law."
With his lawyer, William Fitzsimmons, at his side, Faynzilberg made an emotional plea for leniency.
"Let me express my deepest and most sincere apologies for May 27, 2016," Faynzilberg said, sobbing at that point and others during the hearing.
"I'm sure it was sincere," said Wigler, the presiding criminal judge in Essex County.
That said, Wigler told Faynzilberg that, under his plea deal, the prosecutor's office had already agreed to downgrade the vehicular homicide charge against him from first degree to second degree, sparing him several years in prison under sentencing guidelines.
Wigler added that Faynzilberg's prior record included two drug arrests, one in which he avoided a criminal conviction by being accepted into a pre-trial intervention program, or PTI, on April 15, 2016 -- just six week before the drug-fueled crash that killed Luis Davila.
"What's concerning is you don't learn from your past mistakes," Wigler told Faynzilberg. "And a family was destroyed."
A friend of the Faynzilberg, Alexandra Roth, made a statement on his behalf, assuring the court that he would have the loving support of his family to help him overcome his drug dependence and reintegrate him into society upon his release.
"The level of remorse that he felt was not of the kind, 'What's going to happen to me?' but truly of the magnitude of what happened," Roth said.
Acceptance — Carlos Sainz x Leo McTavish (mentioned max at the end)
Fluff
word count— 1k
Summary— Leo comes out to Carlos and learns that no matter what happens his best friend will always be there for him
Tagging— @allphatauri @the-ghost-lovwr @toasttt11
This one is for the boys
At a young age, Leo had always been aware of his sexual orientation, never denying that he was gay. However, it wasn't until he turned 24 that he fully embraced and understood his sexuality. The turning point came during Carlos's 25th birthday celebration, a moment that solidified Leo's acceptance of himself.
Growing up, Carlos and Leo were like brothers. Both of their fathers had been rally drivers, but Leo's dad left his family when he retired from rallying. Despite this, Carlos and Leo remained close, having been karting teammates for many years before eventually parting ways as they ventured into the world of Formula One racing.
Leo wasn’t one for parties but Carlos somehow managed to convince him to join him for drinks with a couple of the other drivers on the grid. With a few drinks in his system, Leo managed to have a great time celebrating his best friend's birthday.
Carlos had always been the more outgoing and sociable one of the two, often able to coax Leo out of his shell with his charisma and infectious energy. Tonight was no exception. Carlos' birthday was a milestone, and he insisted that Leo join him and the other drivers for some celebratory drinks. Leo had initially demurred, preferring the solitude of his thoughts over the noisy, chaotic scene of a crowded bar. But like always, Carlos managed to persuade him otherwise. With a few drinks in his system, Leo's inhibitions began to slip away, replaced by the warm, familiar glow of drunken relaxation.
They found a quiet corner booth in the back of the bar, away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the party. Carlos slumped down onto the plush seat, a cheeky grin plastered on his face. He turned to Leo, who was already several drinks deep and beginning to feel the effects of the alcohol coursing through his system. "Come on, man," Carlos teased, nudging Leo with his elbow. "Loosen up a little. It's my birthday, after all. Can't have my best friend brooding in the corner all night."
Leo rolled his eyes, but a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "I'm not brooding," he protested weakly. "I'm just... quietly observing." Carlos let out a bark of laughter. "Observing? More like sulking." He wrapped an arm around Leo's shoulder and pulled him closer. "But I'll forgive you since it's my birthday and all." Leo leaned into the touch, his annoyance melting away beneath the comforting weight of Carlos's arm around him. He knew Carlos was only teasing, but there was something about the easy way Carlos touched him that stirred a familiar but unwelcome flutter in his stomach.
"You know," Carlos said, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "I haven't seen you with a girl in ages. What's the deal? Don't tell me you've given up on the ladies." Leo's cheeks flushed at the question. He took a sip of his drink, buying himself some time to come up with a believable lie. "Uh, no, no," he murmured. "I've just been...busy. Focusing on the racing, you know."
"Right," Carlos drawled, not buying it for a second. "Because all F1 drivers are celibate monks, right? Come on, man. We may not be kids anymore, but I still know when you're lying." Leo sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "Alright, fine. I haven't been seeing anyone, okay? I just... I've been figuring some stuff out, that's all."
Carlos's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Figured out? You're not planning on quitting racing already, are you?" "No, no," Leo reassured him quickly. "It's nothing like that. Just... personal stuff. I just need some time to figure things out, that's all."
Carlos studied him intently for a moment, his eyes searching Leo's face. "Is it a girl? Did you get your heart broken or something? You can tell me, you know."
"No, no girl," Leo repeated. He took another swig of his drink, the alcohol coursing through his veins, burning his chest and loosening his tongue. "It's... complicated. It's not something I can just... explain. I haven't even told anyone yet, not even you."
Carlos leaned in even closer, his interest piqued. "What do you mean, you haven't told anyone? We've been friends since we were kids, mate. You can tell me anything. You know that, right?" Leo fiddled with the edge of his coaster, avoiding Carlos's gaze. "I know. I just... I'm not ready to talk about it yet. I don't even know how you'll react when you find out."
Carlos's expression softened, a hint of concern creeping into his eyes. "Leo, come on. You're starting to freak me out here. Whatever it is, you know I'll understand, right? We've been through everything together. What could be that bad?"
Leo took a deep breath, his chest tightening with a mixture of anxiety and fear. He knew he couldn't keep this a secret much longer. He needed someone to talk to, and there was no one he trusted more than Carlos.
"Promise you won't hate me?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. "Of course," Carlos replied without hesitation. "I could never hate you, man. You're my best friend. Nothing you could ever do could change that." Leo took another shaky breath, summoning up the courage to reveal his long-held secret. "Okay, just... promise you won't judge me, alright? And no matter what I say, you have to remember that this is who I am. And I can't change it, no matter how much I wish I could."
Carlos placed a firm hand on Leo's shoulder, his expression serious. "I promise, mate. Whatever it is, I won't judge you. And I'll support you no matter what. You're my best friend, my brother. That's not going to change." Leo nodded, swallowing past the lump in his throat. "Okay. Here it goes."
He leaned back against the booth cushions, his body tense with anxiety. His mind raced with a thousand different scenarios, each one worse than the last. But there was no turning back now. He had to do this. He had to tell Carlos the truth.
"So," he began, his voice trembling. "You know how I've always been a bit... different from other guys, right? Like, I never really talk about girls, or dating, or relationships, or any of that stuff."
Carlos nodded, a hint of understanding starting to dawn on his face. "Yeah, I guess I have noticed that. I never really thought much about it, though. I just figured you were... I don't know, picky about who you date? Or that you're just private about that kind of stuff." Leo shook his head. "No, it's... it's not that. It's not that I'm picky or private. It's just that... I've never been interested in girls. At all."
Carlos's eyes widened in surprise, but he didn't say anything. He could see just how difficult this was for Leo, and how much courage it was taking for him to say the words out loud. So he kept quiet, letting Leo continue. Leo took a shaky breath, forcing the next words out of his mouth. "I'm gay, Carlos. I... I like guys. That's why I've never talked about girls or dating or any of that stuff. Because I've never been remotely interested in girls. It's always been guys, for me. Only guys." There. He said it. The words hang in the air between them for a few tense moments. Carlos's expression was unreadable, giving nothing away. Leo's heart was hammering in his chest, his mind racing as he waited for Carlos's reaction.
Carlos was processing the information, trying to make sense of it all. He had always known that Leo was different from other guys, but this was a revelation he had never expected. But more than anything, he could see just how vulnerable his friend was at this moment, how terrified he was of his reaction. And that fear pained Carlos more than anything else.
After a few tense moments, he finally spoke. "Alright," he said simply, giving Leo's shoulder a gentle squeeze. "I'm proud of you for telling me, man. I know it took a lot of courage."
Leo let out a shaky breath, his body sagging with relief. He had expected a lot of things, but acceptance was not one of them. Even after all these years of friendship, he was still afraid of how Carlos would react to his secret.
"You... You're not disgusted? Or repelled?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
The rush of relief that flooded through Leo was almost overwhelming. He had been so afraid of revealing his secret, so convinced that it would change everything about their relationship. And yet, here was Carlos, accepting him without a second thought, without hesitation.
"You don't think I'm a freak?" he asked, still not quite believing that Carlos was being so calm about everything.
“Oh no you're a freak alright but you’re my freak” Carlos jokes. Leo couldn't help but let out a snort of laughter, Carlos's words breaking through his lingering anxiety. "Gee, thanks," he said drily, feigning offense. "I feel so loved." Carlos chuckled, grinning at his friend. "You know I'm kidding, man. But seriously, I just want you to know that I don't care who you like. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters to me." Leo felt a lump form in his throat at Carlos's words. He had always known that his friend was accepting and supportive, but hearing it confirmed so casually like this was still a bit overwhelming.
"Thanks, man," he said, his voice rough with emotion. "That means more to me than you could ever know." Carlos patted him on the back, his smile warm and genuine. "You don't have to thank me, bruv. That's what friends are for, right? To have each other's backs no matter what."
Leo nodded, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He still couldn't believe how easy Carlos was taking this whole thing. He had expected shock, maybe even disgust, but here was Carlos, still treating him the same way he always had.
"Yeah," he said, his voice strengthening. "That's what friends are for." Leo raised an eyebrow, wary of where this was going. "Depends on the question," he said suspiciously. Leo felt his cheeks flush as a wave of embarrassment washed over him. Of course, Carlos would ask about his love life now that he knew about his sexual orientation.
"Uh...there's no one," he mumbled, avoiding his friend's gaze. Carlos let out a snort. "Bullshit, man. You expect me to believe you've never had a crush on anyone in all these years? Come on, I know you better than that."
Leo sighed, knowing that Carlos wouldn't let this go. "Fine, there might be someone," he admitted reluctantly. "But I'm not saying who it is, so don't even ask." Carlos raised an eyebrow, a sly grin on his face. "Ooooh, mysterious, eh? But come on, man. You can tell me. I won't tell anyone else, I promise."
Leo shook his head firmly. "Nope, not happening. You're gonna have to guess because I'm not giving out any hints." Carlos groaned in mock frustration. "Come on, mate! You can't just drop a bombshell like this on me and then refuse to give any details. It's not fair!" Leo chuckled, his mood lightening a bit at his friend's dramatics. "Life's not fair, man. You're just gonna have to deal with the mystery." Carlos let out a melodramatic sigh, pouting like a child. "Ugh, you're no fun. Fine, I'll just have to figure it out myself. But mark my words, I will get it out of you eventually."
Leo rolled his eyes, but he couldn't help but smile at his friend's determination. "Good luck with that, mate. You're never gonna guess who it is." Leo replied, his eyes landing on Max who was Standing across the bar laughing at something Daniel had said.
I think one of my biggest grievances with ACOTAR is how the family dynamics is written and how the author offers no explanation at all, just expects the readers to move on. Feyre's father not even acknowledging the existence of the youngest daughter who was keeping them all alive, nesta's general cold indifference to feyre's life and an obvious preference for elain (we honestly don't see any prove of that aside from some words, typical of sjm) should've been explained by now yet we still don't get an answer for any of it and if we do the books as well as the fandom gaslights you into thinking you're just "hating" "move on" or "feyre forgave so it's okay" like idc about forgiveness I just need answers! I think the readers totally deserve to know why the main freaking character was treated in such an abusive way as by her family when their treatment of her is what shapes her and her falling for the first man who took care of her, a direct consequence of their treatment. Your MC's backstory is too important to just brush off like that.
Nesta's strained relationship with Feyre was such a huge part of her character like she was almost defined by that so it absolutely boggles my mind that she and feyre don't have a single meaningful conversation that gives the readers some answers and of nothing else then a resolution (kind of what we got in book 1 before sjm destroyed it). I feel like it's the lack of resolution between the sisters Nesta & Feyre in particular, that has made the fandom so divided.
But their relationship isn't the only such thing, SJM has a habit of mentioning things that absolutely should matter and then forgetting about them just because wasn't feeling like it. For instance: the weird triangle between Cassian/Mor/Azriel, how Cassian was pissed that Mor never went back to him after one time and her telling him to not "be her keeper" in acomaf (or was it acowar?) none of it is ever explained. As soon as Cassian as a new shiny mate all is forgotten and we're all supposed to move on to without getting any proper answers. It's so frustrating to read a book like that yk. No wonder the fandom is ready to implode.
It’s not just a lack of resolutions because there are resolutions to the emotional conflicts between the Archerons, the issue is that Maas consistently rescinds the development that occurs throughout the story to instead write indulgent and gratuitous retreads of emotional beats that already happened.
But the true issue at hand here, is that it just doesn’t make any sense.
Sure, if we take the family dynamic in ACOTAR at face value then yes, it’s horrendous for Feyre who is essentially running herself ragged to support a family of spoiled and ungrateful individuals. Taking it at face value would mean accepting the plausibility of Feyre, a young illiterate amateur huntress, supporting 3 other adults for 5-8 years with her efforts alone. But I don’t believe that scenario to be plausible, and Maas does not do a good job of convincing me that the Archeron family dynamic is believable.
The family dynamic is manufactured for the deliberate purpose of serving ACOTAR's wish-fulfillment narrative. Feyre's suffering is supposed to be indulgent and gratuitous because it makes the eventual reward of luxury and power in Prythian that much sweeter. The problem though, is that Maas expands upon established characters later on in a manner that contradicts her initial characterizations of them. So, she doesn't consider that readers actually remember previously established concepts and characterizations and feel the friction of the story's retroactive continuity. So even when Feyre DOES forgive her sisters, readers feel frustrated because the conflict never stays buried for long (because Maas constantly retreads the same plot threads) It’s not surprising that many people cannot let go of Nesta’s previous mistakes when the narrative is still grasping onto it with a cold iron grip for NO REASON.
Also, Nesta’s obvious preference for Elain is not only nonsensical, but never truly explained. I could believe it if maybe Elain was sickly and Nesta took on the role of her protector, or if they had a degree of separation from Feyre like a significant age gap, were half-siblings or if Feyre was adopted, but there’s nothing like that in the text. I just find the idea that Nesta would treat her youngest sister like chopped liver while prioritizing the elder to be unrealistic and unnecessarily frustrating.
You’re right about this lack of resolution being a factor on the division of the fandom. People debate and argue over what information they’re supposed to take seriously and remember and what can be disregarded due to its inconsistency.
Love Like the Galaxy: trauma and vengeance done right
a.k.a forgiveness is overrated
So, we all know that Chinese dramas, especially historical ones, love to traumatize their characters in all kinds of ways: they are wrongfully accused, betrayed, killed, their family is killed, etc. You know, all the good stuff. And I'm all here for it, but.
The problem that I think many of these kinds of dramas run into is - they don't tend to portray how that kind of trauma can and will affect the characters. I'm sorry, but when you as a child witness your whole family's execution, there's no way that the only consequence of that will be the mild fear of blood, which then you can easily overcome once your love interest hugs you like one time, you know?
And I love my traumatized characters as much as the next guy, the more trauma - the better. But when it doesn't affect the character in any meaningful way, then what's the point? Where's the catharsis in that? Needless to say, seeing this kind of thing slightly upsets me.
And here is when Love like the Galaxy comes in.
We have two main characters:
Tumblr media
Cheng Shao Shang, a girl that was abandoned practically since birth by her warrior parents and left in the care of her aunt and grandmother, which then treated her like crap. Her mother and father return from war eventually, but unfortunately things don't get much better. While left to fend for herself, Shao Shang has developed a vengeful and cunning personality. She's resourceful and creative, extremely petty and will fuck up anyone who dares to cross her, no matter who that is. These kinds of traits are not approved by people around her and especially her mother, who attempts to mold her into the more acceptable version of what is considered "a lady from high society";
Tumblr media
Ling Bu Yi, an Emperor's beloved foster son and a general of like the coolest army ever. He's feared by everyone, and for good reasons - he's good in combat (this actor is amazing in action scenes), cold and absolutely brutal, be it in a battle field or in court. His purpose in life is to get to the bottom of the conspiracy that led to the massacre of the whole city and his clan when he was a child.
So, these two meet, and slowly develop a relationship (the guy falls for her at first sight by the way, while Shao Shang is terrified of him for like a good third of the drama, which was pretty fun to watch). And besides their love, one more thing that they have in common is - they don't forget and don't forgive.
And while they seem to influence and make each other better in some ways, this vengeful streak in both of them doesn't diminish in the slightest.
Cheng Shao Shang continues to resist her mother, the methods of which become more and more extreme, other people in court and seemingly the rest of society in their attempts to change her. She wants to preserve her sense of self no matter what. She retaliates every action against her tenfold, and would rather break than bend.
Tumblr media
And Ling Bu Yi, while getting softer around Shao Shang and the people he trusts, in matters of dealing with the conspiracy seems as if possessed by something very dark that is eating him alive. He deals with most problems that arise without hesitation and with ruthlessness that seems almost sociopathic.
Tumblr media
The climax (I'm trying very hard not to spoil anything, appreciate me)
And as we slowly uncover what really happened with the massacre, suddenly Ling Bu Yi's behaviour starts to make sense. What he had experienced was absolutely horrific. He had to hide his trauma behind a mask for years in order to get closer to his goal. All that fucked him up completely, made him who he is now, and it shows, and it matters to the story! Finally!
There is a choice that he has to make, a peaceful life with a person he loves the most, or revenge, no matter the consequences. The fire that has been burning within him makes that choice for him.
This all culminates at a certain birthday banquet. That whole scene, the fight, the reveal, the look on the dying man's face!!! No forgiveness. Absolutely delicious. MOAR BLOOD, MOAR!!!
Tumblr media
Oh, but we're not done yet! Not only do we have the revenge, we have the aftermath!
The General made his choice, and Cheng Shao Shang, while still battling with her own demons, holds him to it. This scene, which I desperately want to call a Wedding one, even if it technically isn't, is also amazing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Cheng Shao Shang meanwhile, parallel to Ling Bu Yi's bloody bender, does something which involved much less murdering, but which completely blew my mind. She does not. Forgive. Her mother. She just doesn't. And holy shit.
No matter in what part of world you live and what kind of parents you have, filial piety is considered a given. Does not matter if they are just not great or outright horrible, you have to understand and forgive them, because tHEy arE FAmiLy (I'm projecting in case you haven't noticed). And in this Chinese historical drama, a girl who was abandoned and then abused by her mother, who is spiteful and always pays in kind, disregards all that. And she does not forgive people that wronged her, no matter who they are.
Anyways, watch this drama, it's great
hii! hope you’re having a good day! i was just wondering how maria would have reacted with tommy after knowing that he abandoned the reader??? love your work btw❤️
hi my lovely!!! not sure if i can like. fully write this out at the minute but i’ll definitely give you my thoughts on her reaction!!!
this is about this fic — find the second part on my masterlist && see all warnings on part 1 + 2 of the fic
to start with, she would DEFINITELY be more angry about the fact that tommy left reader with joel than the fact he left at all
i mean maria has made her thoughts on joel miller perfectly clear, so she is beyond angry that he could leave a kid with that man!!!
(yet another one of tommy’s flaws is never defending his big brother)
but maria would for sure still be furious that tommy left full stop
i’m saying, he was on the couch for WEEKS
long conversations (arguments) about whether or not tommy was to be trusted with being a dad to the child maria was carrying
after her initial anger about r being left with joel, however, she’d be more angry at r’s entire situation
this is a mother who LOST her son (rip kevin)
so for her husband to have just … given away his child? just left his child behind? she can’t bring herself to justify it
it remains a sore subject for them the rest of their lives
maria would absolutely try to form a bond with reader, try to apologise for what tommy did, but reader wouldn’t be interested
and maria cant blame you
i also think it would let maria and joel bond, almost
her opinions of him were formulated all from his brother’s side of things, which she has now seen isn’t a good side to hear from
and she’s … glad that joel stepped up, once she gets over her initial resentment towards him
tlou part two spoilers below!
so we know just how angry maria was when tommy left to avenge joel, right?
imagine how much worse it would be in the setting of that fic.
he’s already abandoned his first kid, so when he and maria eventually made something close to peace with his past, she’s the angriest she’s ever been when he leaves a second time
it was a suicide mission, we knew that from the START
and while she does consider the fact that tommy might’ve left to avenge joel for reader’s benefit, given how much the events would’ve destroyed them, she can’t accept any excuse
he abandoned her, AND abandoned their child
she can’t forgive that
half of her wants to stop tommy from even being let back into jackson, to stop him from ever seeing their child again
but she can’t bring herself to deprive her kid of their father, as much as she wants to
but essentially, both of tommy’s children grow up to resent him
