Attention everyone
Hello everyone, I guess this needs to be said there is a series of accounts lead by a person that is harassing artists and people within the community under the guise of altruism and white knighting to seem as though they are in the right. but in reality all they are is a bully who will degrade and name call any and everyone who doesn't do exactly as they say. This kind of harassment will kill fandoms and force people to quit being artists and we here at SU-Revived do not stand for this. below are the 4 accounts we know of that this person uses to harass artists
@aspirationatwork @imageprescription @stevenuniverse-described @sideblogcatalogueanalog
but I highly recommend immediately blocking anyone that comments on your art or posts with this
Tumblr media
as it is most likely one of their alt accounts.
Update: Bro literally said I do it because no one can stop me lol
Tumblr media
YOU ARE HEREBY EXCOMUNICATED FROM THE SU FANDOM! All of the artists you have harassed have had enough of you and we are banding together to end this.

I’ve been cautious about posting art here again.
At first it was because I want my images to be accessible and I want to use alt text on them. But then I got it in my head that if I wanna start doing that, I should go back and edit all my previous posts to include them. And that task put me in this paralysis.
Then I started thinking about how much of my art I post. As much as I preach that what I draw is for me, I upload most if not all my art. At least the art I think looks good. Yeah it’s normal to show folks stuff I think looks good, but I gotta remember to draw shit just for me to look at.
I wanna be experimental. I shouldn’t be worried about wasting paper by drawing something ugly. Not to say I don’t like how my art looks right now, but I wanna use different mediums. I drew something pretty sick with a standard pack of crayola crayons the other day. It was personal and it felt amazing. I may post it someday, but I don’t have to.
Right now, my art is mine.

Compiled some basic information I know about drawing fat characters for beginners since I've been seeing more talk about absence of really basic traits in a lot of art lately.

"I should draw Māori Miku!" I said to myself. "Just a fun sketch, it shouldn't take me long" I said to myself. Six hours later I come to with this in front of me and a wrist begging for mercy but holy fuck worth it. I love this trend this was so much fun
PLEASE DON'T REPOST ON OTHER SITES!!! ASK ME FIRST!!!!!
DISCLAIMERS AND NOTES ETC.... I'm Pākehā, meaning I am not of Māori descent. I hold so much respect for Māori people, for their values and traditions, and for the fierce pride with which kapa haka is performed. I thought if I was going to design a Māori Miku, it makes sense to dress her in a kapa haka kākahu, as her whole thing is singing and dancing!!! The moko kauae is not based off any real person's. I referenced the temporary moko kauae a lot of kapa haka performers wear!! Was tricky finding out whether or not depicting her with a moko kauae was a good idea, so I went the safe route- showing an aspect of Māori culture without stepping over any boundaries!! Brown eyed Miku is everything to me shout out brown eyed Miku.... I referenced like seven different outfits to put hers together!! I really hope this looks accurate or at least passable. Thanks to adorkastock for the pose ref!!

I Have Found A Solution!
So, obviously classic wizard robes aren’t wheelchair friendly. (Alright, admittedly this isn’t common knowledge and also this definitely isn’t a problem for most but listen, this is a problem for me and I’m pleased to present a solution for it nonetheless.)
The issue is in the sleeves and the length of the robes. The traditional trumpet style allows them to get snagged, dirty, and caught in the wheels.
Tumblr media
This is distinctly not an issue with other mobility aids such as canes and crutches, these wizards are fine to carry on with their trumpet sleeves simply rolled up if needed.
Tumblr media
Now, one solution might simply to shorten the sleeves and hem to be out of the way, but that looks rather silly so I won’t do that. Instead I propose the more elegant design of a hanging sleeve to maintain that flowy magical feel while allowing for better range of motion.
Tumblr media
Honestly I just love the look of hanging sleeves in general and think more people should appreciate them, wheelchair user or not.
Tumblr media
In conclusion…

comics as an art form make me insane. they’re so difficult to do well. there’s so many different ways to make sequential art work and most of them are deeply unintuitive. onomatopoeia that feels completely ridiculous to put down often reads seamlessly. panels on a page become a fractally nested image composition challenge that’s only possible to lose because if you do a good job no one will notice. you have to direct the readers’ eyes on a specific path across the page but also account for the fact that they won’t follow it. comic time isn’t linear. if the order of events isn’t crystal clear the story becomes incomprehensible. sometimes you need to do this on purpose. all this for a medium almost universally considered less effective than animation and less respectable than plain text. even its own name doesn’t take it seriously

Just to make a point, every time I finished a panel of this I would export it as a PNG on the perceptual setting and use it as a color reference for the next panel
IT'S BAD
PLEASE CHECK YOUR COLOR SETTINGS
EDIT: If you're still having problems, it might help to switch from "Save/Save as" to "Export (as a) Single Layer". Just. Make SURE the box labeled "Expression Color" is set to RGB. I've been messing with this all day, and it looks like this combination of settings will allow exported PNGs to maintain their colors perfectly. To you. So far both Discord and Toyhouse still only display desaturated images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why
