The Progressive Conservatives hold the largest lead recorded for a party since “the turn of the century,” a new poll has found, with Doug Ford well out in front of the rest at the start of Ontario’s snap election campaign. The survey, conducted exclusively for Global News by Ipsos Public Affairs, suggests if the election were held tomorrow the PCs would form a third consecutive majority government, with greater support than both the NDP and Liberal votes combined. Fifty per cent of decided and leaning voters said they would cast a ballot for the Progressive Conservatives, while 24 per cent would choose the Liberals. The Ontario NDP polled at 20 per cent, with the Greens at six per cent.

In what case litigants are calling the first time an American jury has held a U.S. corporation legally liable for atrocities abroad, federal jurors in Florida on Monday found that Chiquita Brands International financed a Colombian paramilitary death squad that murdered, tortured, and terrorized workers in a bid to crush labor unrest in the 1990s and 2000s.
The federal jury in West Palm Beach, Florida found the banana giant responsible for funding the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC) and awarded eight families whose members were murdered by the right-wing paramilitary group $38.3 million in damages.
EarthRights International, which first filed the case—Doe v. Chiquita—in 2007, called the verdict “a milestone for justice.”

RFK jr is regurgitating racist, ableist, antivax rhetoric, but dressing it up in pseudo-scientific “studies” to make it sound more palatable. It’s dehumanization. It’s old school white supremacy in an expensive new suit. This will lead to (already existing) medical racism, but on steroids. Please believe me when I say that we are one slip away from a slope where the Republican controlled federal government will justify hospitals not using anesthesia on Black patients during experiments operations because we (Black people) allegedly don’t feel pain.
A pox on anyone who votes to confirm this racist assclown.

‼️A Call for Partial Reconstruction of Our Home‼️
(art by theflowerpaw)
Dear friends and supporters, After more than a year of suffering and resilience amidst the harsh conditions of war, our home is in urgent need of partial reconstruction so we can regain stability and continue our lives. The damage to our home has greatly affected our daily lives, especially as I live with my 68-year-old mother, who suffers from chronic illnesses and requires special care in a safe and stable environment.
I am reaching out to you with this appeal, hoping for your support and contributions, no matter how small, to help rebuild our home and secure the minimum necessities for living.
Every contribution, whether financial or by sharing this post, means the world to us. Together, we can overcome this hardship and reclaim a part of the life that war has taken from us.
