By the way, has anyone else noticed the similarities between these three ships?
BECAUSE I HAVE AND I CANNOT PRETEND TO BE NORMAL ABOUT IT ANYMORE
(unhinged gay screaming and rambling below the cut)
You know, "serious, deadpan gay has their heart melted by a nerdy, chaotic disaster bisexual with childhood trauma." Alternatively, "not enemies but initially on opposing sides before sun-coded breaks down moon-coded's walls and then subsequently become best friends that are closer to each other than most other people."
To start, the similarities between Lan Zhan, Cas, and Shouto:
Deadpan, cold, aloof, serious, intimidating, takes things literally
Initially driven by rigidly-defined principles/goals before having their world view altered by the other half of their ship, which in turn causes them to become more uncertain of themselves and what they want, but recognizes that they are happier and better-off for it now than they were before
They were raised in an unforgivingly strict environment where there was no margin for error, causing them to become cold and jaded in a way that covers up the fact that, at their core, they are fundamentally kind and good in a way that they don't even realize but desperately want to be
Socially awkward introverts that hate everyone but This One Person
Come across as very intimidating but are actually very soft
Surprisingly good with kids
Familial issues/trauma
They can also be identified as the "fell first" half of the relationship, and most likely fell within one of their first few interactions with their love interest
Youngest siblings
Has an obsession with a specific animal (Cas likes bees, Lan Zhan likes rabbits, Shouto likes cats)
The undisputed powerhouse of their respective series that everyone recognizes as one of, if not the strongest members of the cast
Everyone thinks they're super wise and mature, but they are actually the pettiest bitches you will ever meet
Gay and entirely obsessed with This One Person
They all have small, private conflicts about allowing themselves to Feel. They were raised to compartmentalize, repress, and conceal-don't-feel; push everything down until you are perfect and untouchable. Then their love interest comes along and upends everything and finally allows them to Feel, but because they were taught to repress everything, they don't entirely know how to do that yet, so, with the help of their love interest, they slowly heal and learn how to be more human and less like the image of untouchable, god-like perfection they were raised to be (metaphorically for lwj and Shouto, but literally in Cas's case)
(I was gonna say, "they all belong to the mile-high tall club", but then I realized that only applies to lwj and Shouto because Cas is technically shorter than Dean, lol. Though, I guess you could argue that his true form (without his vessel) is taller, but, like, c'mon)
Incredibly dry, niche sense of humor that's only really funny to This One Person
Lan Zhan and Shouto both have mothers that they love, but who were forced into an unwanted, loveless marriage by their father that led them to be increasingly isolated from their children until resulting in a psychotic break that ultimately destroyed them and drove their husbands to imprison them (Rei in the mental hospital and Lan Zhan's mother in the Jingshi)
Unrepentantly earnest and blunt with their thoughts
Completely whipped for their partner
Now! To the disasters! Wei Ying, Dean, and Izuku:
Friendly, excitable, extroverted, sunshine-y/always smiling
Near-unparalleled geniuses in their fields of interest that like to experiment and test things
Childhood trauma
The powers that be have decided that they are undesirable in some way or another, that they are a waste, disposable, an acceptable sacrifice to make in the grand scheme of things. They have all struggled with feelings of worthlessness, and have all arguably struggled with self-hatred at least once in their lives, and even if they don't actively hate themselves anymore, by and large, they do not recognize that they have value just as they are, that the only value they have lies in what they can do (or sacrifice) for others. None of them have much in the way of self-esteem or any sense of self-worth.
At their core, they want to save people.
They all have themes of being different from the negative characatures that society tried to make them into.
Extremely talkative and come across as annoying to most people
Likes kids
Reckless and jump head-first into danger at the drop of a hat
Carry feelings of guilt, have a tendency to cast blame onto themselves, takes responsibility for things that aren't their fault
They want so badly to do good, and they choose to be kind in a world that deemed them unworthy of it
Good relationships with their respective maternal figures/caretakers (Dean and Izuku with their actual mothers, and Wei Ying with Yanli)
Wise-cracking smartasses that give off dumbass energy
Bisexual
Inadvertently ends up adopting a small army of children
Deflects their traumatic experiences with jokes
Has that one female best friend that is definitely a lesbian (wwx and Wen Qing, Izuku and Ochako, and Dean and Charlie)
"Oh my God, (Cas, Lan Zhan, Shouto)! You can't just say things like that!"
They are the caretakers, the protectors, but they so rarely let themselves be cared for by others. Their respective love interests are some of the few people they feel comfortable being truly vulnerable with and will let take care of them
Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms™
In particular, I noticed a lot of uncanny similarities between Wangxian and Destiel specifically, especially in the themes and arcs that exist in both the couples and the individuals

Come Over (2/7)
Summary: You’re new to New York City. Fresh out of post-grad and wanting a change of pace, and this change comes in more ways than one.
Pairing: Neighbor!Bucky Barnes x fem!Reader
Chapter Warnings: None
Notes: Thank you everybody for the amazing feedback on the first chapter! I don’t think I’ve ever had that much response from the get go on a new series. Anyways, this part’s a bit longer. Feedback/comments/reblogs are always appreciated! ♥ P.S. - Not sure how many of you saw my recent post regarding tag lists but I figure I’d mention it here: I am not longer doing tag lists. Honestly the work to payoff ratio is so off there’s no point in my doing them anymore, coupled with the fact that Google docs is unreliable. More than half the people on these lists don’t interact with the stories they’re tagged for anyways, so I’m just not doing tag lists anymore. Please don’t ask me for tags.
Series Masterlist // Main Masterlist
Your first day at Stark Industries goes perfectly. Tony is a little ...out there for lack of better terminology, but overall he is the perfect boss—not too needy except in his caffeine addiction. He doesn’t go easy on you, firing off press conferences and meetings and so many other events at you in some funny attempt to get you to slip up. You surprise him by repeating each event, date and time included, in perfect chronological order. Behind his sunglasses, his dark eyebrows raise.
Your lunch is taken at your desk as you fill in your new planner with all the events Tony had given you. Your entire month of September seems to be filled to the brim with meetings you’re required to sit on, presentations of new tech, and luncheons with other big conglomerates in the industry. It’s overwhelming, but you didn’t plunge yourself into massive student debt for easy.
You even get a chance to meet a few of your coworkers when you step out for coffee for both you and Tony. Unsurprisingly, he takes it black with two sugars. A brunette woman and a tall man with glasses stand in front of you in the coffee shop on the bottom floor of the building, and when she notices you, she smiles and turns around to fully face you.
“You must be Tony’s new assistant,” she says. Returning her smile, you nod and throw out a hand.
“Y/N.”
“Wanda. And this is Vis, he works in Finance for Stark Industries.” The tall man smiles too and instead of shaking your hand, he kisses the back of it. Wanda giggles at the surprised look on your face and lightly slaps Vis in the chest.
“Vis, don’t scare the poor girl on her first day.”
The two of them step up to the counter and order, and Wanda waits while you do the same. She pulls you into a light conversation, asking how your first day is going, what it’s like so far working for Tony, where you moved from, and you answer them all easily. Wanda seems to be an easygoing person, one you look forward to getting to know better. Vis is quiet, but he interjects here and there for clarification on some things or to ask you questions of his own.
Wanda works in Marketing for the company, a huge duty in your opinion, but she seems to like the responsibility. She’s funny and sweet, and the three of you get into the elevator together once you all have your coffees. After exchanging numbers and a promise for a night out together soon, you part ways. Tony’s on the phone when you step into his office after knocking lightly with your knuckles, and he waves you in while telling the person on the other line just where he can shove “such a bullshit offer”.
Your face must show your slight shock at Tony’s mannerism because he smirks and accepts the coffee you hold out to him, downing half of it in a single gulp. He jiggles the cup idly.
“Sometimes you gotta play a little hardball. I’m expecting his call back in about, oh, twenty minutes,” he boasts, spinning on his heel to saunter over to the workstation set up in his office. “So, new blood, why me?”
You’re momentarily surprised by the question; most of your day had been spent following Tony around and scribbling down notes, and now you find yourself put on the spot by his suddenly asking about you. Mentally you fumble for an answer, your confidence a little wobbly after the surprise wears off.
“Where else am I going to be part of the greatest technology to ever exist?” is the response you settle on, if only to stroke Tony’s wild ego a bit. He grins cheekily and sips at his coffee.
“I like you,” he mutters, as if to himself.
He asks you a few more personal questions about yourself, questions that weren’t answered in the interview he regrettably, so he says, could not be present for. It feels rather odd having this kind of rapport with your boss, but it definitely doesn’t feel like a bad thing. Your previous employers only cared about your being on time and getting your work done, but Tony seems to take an honest interest in your schooling, your experiences, and where you see yourself headed in the future.
“Yikes,” he yelps when he checks the Stark Watch on his wrist. “I didn’t mean to keep you so long. I’m sure you have some work to finish up before you go home.”
He says it with an apologetic smile behind his sunglasses, and the responding smirk you send him feels natural.
“Of course, Mr. Stark—”
“Ah, ah, Tony, please. Mr. Stark makes me sound old and cynical.”
You snort. “Very well, Tony. If I don’t see you before I leave I’ll see you in the morning for our seven AM meeting with AIMTech.”
Winking quickly, you spin around and head back to your office, humming lowly but happily. Your first day at Stark Industries has gotten much better than expected and it puts a small spring in your step as you head back to your office. Office. You can’t even believe that as a personal assistant you’re entitled to an actual office as opposed to just a desk out in the open. But, from what you could gather from talking to Wanda, working for Stark Industries won’t feel like work at all.
You finish keying in changes and adjustments to Tony’s schedule that you’ve received via email. Fortunately, your meeting the next morning remains unchanged, but you feel secure in staying on top of everything. There’s a comfort and a calmness that comes with strict, almost obsessive organization for you. Things feel complete, in their proper places, and so you spend the last fifteen minutes of your work day organizing and reorganizing your desk in a fashion that seems most efficient and less hectic. Your planner is within easy reach, and your computer calendar is pinned to your taskbar. You feel good, at home here, where you can keep someone else’s life perfectly organized.
You take the subway home, earbuds shoved in your ears and streaming the latest episode to the My Favorite Murder podcast. Your feet are a little sore from your shoes, only slight relief when you shift your weight and readjust your feet inside them. The couch, a blanket, and some tea are desperately calling your name as you step off the subway and walking stiffly back to your apartment building. Your first real day in the city had been spent familiarizing and memorizing the routes to and from work so as not to be late for your first day. Now you know it perfectly and you greet the doorman to your building with a tired smile.
Your day was invigorating, but man, are you exhausted. Now that the pressure to be professional and keep focus is off, you allow your shoulders to drop with a sigh. The rickety elevator doors open with a squeak and you step inside and lean against the cool metal of the back wall.
Bucky is in the hallway when the doors open on your floor, looking like he’d just gotten home from work himself and on the phone. Your steps falter a little at the look on his face; it’s pinched, brows furrowed low over his eyes and jaw muscles jumping. You can’t hear him from the elevator where you wait, his voice is low and hurried and sharp. He’s arguing with someone, that much is obvious.
Carefully you step forward, acting as if you weren’t assessing him and his body language, and busy yourself with unlocking your door.
“Oh, hey.”
You look up and over at Bucky, who has ended his phone call apparently but still holds the device in his hand. His smile is faint, and you give him a small, tired one of your own.
“Hi Bucky. Long day?” He catches the quick glance you give his phone and huffs, shoves it roughly into his pocket as if he wants to forget to conversation that’s just taken place.
“Somethin’ like that. How about you? You look tired, doll.” You swallow at the pet name, the way it rolls off his tongue lighting something warm in your belly. It’s forgotten though when Bucky’s face brightens with realization. “Oh! Today was your first day with Stark wasn’t it? How’d it go?”
“It went very well actually. Tony Stark is...not who I imagined he’d be when I first applied to work for him. He’s better, but he’s definitely way more out there than I’d expected.”
The two of you shoot the shit back and forth for a few minutes longer, Bucky’s previous phone call nearly forgotten until it rings again and his face falls when he checks the caller ID. He wags his phone in the air as it continues to shriek.
“I should take this. Hey, um, maybe this weekend you can tell me all about your first week?” He looks shy when he asks, and it only serves to make your face flush crimson. “O-Only if you want to, that is. I’m sure you’re still trying to get settled in.”
“I’d love to,” you interject before he can go off on a nervous tangent. “Maybe you can come over for coffee and help me assemble some furniture?”
“Sure,” he replies softly and with a grin. He seems to have forgotten about his phone until its ringing shatters the small silence again, and he frowns. “I’ll see you, Y/N.”
“Bye Bucky.” You just get the words out before his door closes and the lock flips.
Sighing, you enter your own apartment and kick the heels off your feet, wiggle your toes to get some feeling back into them. Through the walls of your apartment, you can hear Bucky’s raised voice, though it’s still muffled enough that you can’t make out the words.
Truth is, you’ve heard Bucky arguing a lot the past few days. Despite only been here a week, you’ve come to enjoy having Bucky as a neighbor. He’s a tattoo artist, you’ve learned, which explains sometimes why he’s home or away at weird hours, and you’re not surprised to learn he designed his own tattoos. And aside from the recent conflict that seeps through your conjoined walls, he’s quiet and doesn’t do anything untoward that would have you calling the landlord. He says hi to you when he sees you in the hallway or at the mailbox, asks about your day, and goes on his merry way.
And because of all that you may have developed just a teensy crush on the guy, for which you’ve scolded yourself because how could you possibly like a guy you’ve known, barely, a week?
With a small grunt, you head to the kitchen for a hefty glass of much deserved wine.

You Have Me (Yandere Rung/Fem!Reader) SFW
Thank you to the user who ordered this- it was Good(tm).
Warning for: Obsessive behavior, emotional manipulation, power imbalance, inappropriate doctor/patient relationship
You still couldn’t believe where your life has gone. You still don’t remember how you got into that… fucking pod, but now you’re here. On a ship. So far away from Earth that you have no idea if Earth even exists anymore.
Oh yeah… there’s also robot aliens. That’s another big issue, here.
You’ve only talked to a few, thanks to your time spent in the medical area. Your doctor- Ratchet- said it’d be too stressful to introduce you to too many people at once. You’ve only met him, First Aid, Rung, Rodimus, Drift, and Megatron. You, briefly, saw someone called Ultra Magnus, but he didn’t stay long.
You mostly talked with Ratchet, First Aid, and Rung. The first two mostly speak to you about your health, although First Aid is more friendly. Rung, however, is a mix of therapist, and your first real friend on this place.
Well, you may be projecting onto a professional therapist a bit, but… look, you’re alone here, okay? You need someone to consider a friend, and he’s around the most.
However, Ratchet has finally given you the signal that you’re good to leave the medbay. Rodimus had set up a special habsuite, just for you. It was located near Rung’s own, as per Rung’s request. He pointed out how you were unstable, and in need of familiar faces nearby. Rodimus, seeing no problems with that, moved some bots around to let you be neighbors with your therapist.
Rung was certainly happy with the idea- he was the first to tell you about your new living situation. He told you that he can help you adjust to living here, and- as long as he wasn’t with a client- he could help you at any time. You had smiled, liking the sound of that idea.
When you woke up in your own room, you almost panicked. This wasn’t your home, nor was it the bed in the medbay. You nearly forgot where you were, until you took a good look around. Rodimus had found some dumb sheets and decorations to make your room more “homey”, as he put it.
There was also a Rodimus Star hanging on the wall across from your bed. “For being the best human on board” was his reasoning for giving it to you. When you joked that you were the ONLY human on the ship, he just laughed it off.
The only human… ugh, you need something to take your mind off of this.
Your habsuite was stocked with food, thankfully, so you didn’t have to leave to make yourself breakfast. A knock on the door interrupted your cooking.
“Sorry to bother you,” Rung said as he entered. “I heard you moving around, so I wanted to check on you”. You could’ve sworn these rooms were sound-proof. Maybe yours wasn’t, for some reason? Maybe in case you need help?
“How was your first night in here?” You thought about it for a moment, sitting down while your food heated up.
“It… was alright. The bed was comfortable, it was just… really quiet”. You were used to the hustle of the medbay. Spending the night in a silent room was a big change. “I also woke up really confused”. Rung hummed, sitting nearby.
“Perhaps I could find a spare datapad, and put some white noise on it for you- have you something to listen to while you fall asleep,” Rung suggested. You smiled a bit, nodding. That sounds like a good idea.
He sat and chatted with you while you finished cooking, and began eating your small breakfast. He switched from regular conversations, to asking about how you’ve been feeling since the move.
“I’ve been… fine. I guess it’s just… hard to get used it,” you said, purposely being vague on what “it” was. Rung knew you were holding out on some information, but knew you weren’t in the mood to talk about it at the moment. Rung reached over, gently patting your leg. You ignored the… awkward feeling in your chest at the touch, knowing he was just trying to comfort you.
“That’s understandable- getting used to a new way of life after such a traumatic event will take a long time. Just know that, whenever you need to discuss these issues, I’m here for you”. You smiled as he sat back. You swallowed your food, nodding.
“I know… thank you, Rung,” you said, before pausing. “Do… you think you could show me around the ship, today? I… want to see more of it, and meet some of the other bots”. He nodded happily, letting out a small mhm”.
“I’d be delighted to! I’ll let you finish getting ready, and I’ll be back in a bit,” he grinned, standing up. You waved him off as he went to his habsuite.
You finished off your food, moving to get ready for the day. You cleaned up and got dressed, ready to go exploring.
Exiting the habsuite, you found that Rung was just leaving his own. He smiled down at you, reaching down to pick you up. You let him, knowing you could be crushed under some feet if you were to walk around.
You won’t admit you were a little embarrassed, though.
Rung walked through the halls, pointing out various rooms and places to you. He also introduced you to a few bots as you all crossed paths. Whirl threatened to squish you if you did something to “Eyebrows”, so that was fun.
You two met with Drift. Yep… Drift was still hot.
The two of you walked around all day, stopping back by your habsuite to let you both eat and rest.
“I heard some people talk about “Swerve’s”,” you mentioned around your sandwich. “What’s that?” Rung internally sighed.
“Swerve’s is a bar- a nice enough place, although people get drunk very fast”. You fidgeted slightly, a little excited at the idea of a bar.
“Can… can we go, when it opens?” Rung, slowly, nodded his approval.
“I don’t think we should stay too long- I don’t want you to get too overwhelmed- but yes. I’ll take you after we finish eating”. You smiled, going back to eating. Rung had to remind you to slow down, so you don’t get sick. You rolled your eyes a bit, but complied.
Putting your plate in your little sink, you went back over to Rung. Once the two of you were ready, Rung picked you up again to go to Swerve’s.
The halls were pretty clear, as everyone was either at Swerve’s, or in their habsuites- or work spaces, in some cases.
Swerve immediately waved Rung over, when he spotted you two come in. He motioned for Rung to place you on the counter- there was a special set up just for you. You hopped off of Rung’s hands, sitting in your chair. Rung sat in a stool next to you. You examined the glass already on the table- the liquid in it was bright blue. You found it smelled like a mix of strawberries and grapes.
“The juice is safe for you- Ratchet’s tested all the drinks I stocked up for you”. You took a small sip, nodding appreciatively when you found you liked the taste.
“He did?” “Yeah! I wanted to make sure you wouldn’t get sick, so when I went to get some organic drinks from the planet we were near, I asked Ratchet to look at them for me”. You were flattered that this stranger went to all that trouble for you.
“Where are my manners! I’m Swerve- the fine owner of this establishment”. He did an extravagant bow, making you snicker. He reached out, using a finger to carefully shake your hand. It was a little awkward, but you can tell he was trying.
You gave him your name, saying it was nice to meet him. Swerve went on to talk about the bar- how he found it, what happened the day he found it, and how Rung almost died because of the Sparkeater.
“What the fuck is a Sparkeater?” “OH man that thing is horrifying,” Swerve said, describing the monster to you. And how its body was stuck in an engine. He laughed at your loud “WHAT”- which drew stares from other bots nearby. You shrunk in on yourself a bit, apologizing for your outburst. Rung patted your back, assuring you it was fine.
You don’t know how long Swerve talked, but more and more of it was beginning to be lost on you. He had to change topics just to explain his stories multiple times. A few bots had come over to see, and meet, their new ship-mate.
They were all nice enough, but… you were starting to get overwhelmed. Rung seemed to notice this.
“Would you like to go back to your habsuite,” he asked, once the latest meet-and-greet was over. Hesitantly, you nodded. Rung stood, and you told Swerve you’d visit another night. He waved you two off, telling you that you were welcome at the bar any time.
“Did you have a good time?” You didn’t answer immediately, so he looked down at you. You were lost in thought, and he gently nudged you with his free hand. You blinked, glancing up at him. He repeated the question, knowing you didn’t hear him the first time.
“Oh… yeah, I… I did have fun- everyone there was nice”. “Yet something’s troubling you,” he pointed out, setting you down to open your door. You let out a small sigh as the doors opened.
“I’d… rather not talk about it, Rung. I promise, it isn’t too much of a big deal”. He didn’t look convinced, and crossed his arms. A gentle, yet stern look caused you to look away.
“I… really don’t want to talk about it right now, Rung”. He sighed, a small smile on his face.
“Alright, I understand… Just know that I’m here for you, whenever you need me”. You gave him a smile of your own, nodding in understanding.
“I know, Rung, and I appreciate it. This is just… something I have to think about myself, for a bit, first,” you assured. You went into the room, shutting the door behind you. Rung stared at the door for a moment, placing his hand on it. He didn’t know how long he stayed there, but he finally forced himself away so no one gets suspicious.
He’ll get it out of you, eventually.
Over time, you began to get more and more reclusive. Rung hadn’t thought much of it, at first, as he was still one of the only bots to see you. Then, he began to notice you didn’t want to leave with him, or get out of bed much, anymore. He had to make you eat, at times, as well as bathe.
“My dear, please talk to me,” he finally said, one day. You two had just been sitting together, watching a movie Swerve had lent you. He had been watching you just stare, blankly, at the movie. He knew you weren’t really listening to the program.
“... I don’t belong here, Rung,” you sighed, running a hand over your face. You felt tears pricking your eyes, and you slumped against the back of our seat. Rung kept quiet, letting you speak your mind.
“I’m a tiny, insignificant human among a race of non-organic aliens, far away from my home”. You stared out the window, watching the stars go by.
“I don’t know what to do with myself- all of my hobbies are… long gone, or long dead. I’m alone, with nothing to do, and nobody to talk to”. You heard Rung’s form shifting. His mass-displaced hand settled on top of yours, and his other hand turned your face towards his. He wiped tears off of your cheeks- ones you didn’t even know you had shed- and looked at you sternly.
“You always have someone to talk to,” he said. “Whether it be me, or Swerve, or any of your new friends on this ship”. He hesitated, before continuing.
“I… can’t say you’re not alone here- obviously, you know you have me, but… being the only human will take its’ toll on you. I can’t take that pain away, but I can help you manage it”. You were quiet, before you felt a hiccup escape you. You wanted, so desperately, to hold it all in. Yet, you broke.
Broken sobs left your lips, before they turned into harsh wails and shaking breaths. Rung wrapped his arms around you, pulling you against him. You cried into chest plate, the foreign feeling only adding to your despair. You knew Rung was trying to help, you really did, but… an unyielding metal chest wasn’t the same as a fleshy shoulder to cry on.
He used a hand to pet your hair, playing with the tips of the strands. His chassis rumbled, both with happiness and comfort. Miraculously, it actually began to calm you down. Your wails turned to small hiccups and deep breaths, interspersed with quiet coughs.
You finally moved back from Rung, grabbing a box of tissues. You grabbed a few, wiping your nose and eyes. Rung took one, as well, to wipe the water off of his chestplate. The tissues were thrown away, and you took a moment to steady your breath.
“Better,” Rung asked after a moment of silence. You didn’t answer at first, knowing you weren’t feeling any better. You finally shook your head.
“The cry definitely helped, but… nothing’s any better, Rung”. He put his hands on your tender cheeks, making you look at him.
“I know you won’t be better, for a long time. I can help you manage these feelings, though”. You stared at him, before smiling slightly. You hugged the bot again, less desperately than you were holding him before. He’s ashamed to admit he wants the desperate clinging back.
“Thank you, Rung”. “No thanks needed- it’s my job,” he laughed. You snorted a bit, pulling back again to lean against the back of your seat again.
The two of you decided to watch the rest of the movie, even though a major scene passed during your episode. You were completely lost, but were trying to piece together the plot anyway. Rung wasn’t even paying attention to the movie, anymore. He was simply watching you, out of the corner of his optic. Thank Primus for his glasses.
So small, and vulnerable… Rung swears he’ll keep you safe, even if he isn’t really made for combat. He’d take down the DJD if it meant you’d never leave his side. You needed him, and he’ll make sure you’ll always need him.
Your future sessions began changing. You expressed more of your fears and emotions to him, all of which he would record- either just to hear your voice again, or to keep for… a later date. Your fear of isolation was… particularly interesting.
He helped you manage your feeling of inadequacy, and how you didn’t belong here. You began to leave the room again, and he’d take you to Swerve’s every few days. It became routine, and your favorite drink was always ready on your table, by the time you got there. Rung’s drink was always next to your table, showing that Swerve finally remembered that he was always in tow.
Some bots would sit with you two- usually Tailgate, or Rodimus. Occasionally, Whirl would join you two, as well. Usually, just to stare at you intimidatingly as he talked with Rung. You still weren’t used to Whirl’s optic staring into your soul, so every time he came over, you turned your attention to Swerve the entire time.
With every visit, a deeper, more hidden part of Rung would surface. He’d watch you talk with the other bots, none of them really acknowledging he was there. Rodimus would flirt, as would Drift if he ever came by. Tailgate would hog all of your attention, with Cyclonus looming behind the mini-bot, glaring at Rung as if he knew what the psychologist was thinking. Whirl would make you uncomfortable, but Rung knew it was his way of testing to see if he’d like you, in the end.
All of them took your attention away from him. He, sincerely, doesn’t like that. He does want you to get better, he truly does, but… the idea of you not needing him? It drives him crazy.
He’s got to find a way to fix this. Not undo all of your progress, of course. Just… send you into a small dip, for a bit.
He took you back to your habsuite at your normal time, putting you in front of your door so you could open it.
He followed you inside as you tossed your shoes into a nearby corner. You flopped onto the couch, and he took his usual seat in the cybertronian-sized chair in the room. He stared at you with an unreadable expression, not that you were looking at him. Oh, but he was always looking at you. Delicate, vulnerable you…
“Hey, Rung?” Your voice snapped him out of his small trance. He hummed in reply, moving to get more comfortable in his chair. You sat up, turning to him so you could properly talk.
“I… want to thank you, again, for helping me with my recent, uh… problems,” you said, smiling slightly. “I think I’m… starting to get in a better place”. That’s… great.
“That’s good,” Rung said, masking his disappointment easily. “I’m glad to be able to help”. Perhaps he needs to speed up his thought process on this idea.
“With how… severe this subject is, I was afraid it’d be a lot longer before you would reach this point,” he explained. “You’ve bounced back relatively quickly, surprisingly”. He could already see the gears turning in your head.
Had you just brushed off everything so fast? Did you, basically, just remove the entire situation from your thoughts?
“... Yeah, I… I guess,” you said, unsure. Rung gave a small smile, seemingly encouraging of your recovery. In reality, he was happy his planted thought took hold. He better give you some time to… think on that.
“I’ll be heading back to my habsuite,” he said, standing. You looked up at him, a look in your eyes that said you didn't want him to leave. Primus, he wanted to stay so badly.
“If you need me, send me a message,” he said, his usual ‘goodbye’, as he left the room. The door slid shut behind him, and he stayed outside for a little bit. After a while, he heard quiet sobs from the other side of the door. A smug smile crossed his lips.
He’ll keep his datapad nearby. Just in case.
He ended up not getting a message that night, and he was worried you just ended up getting over your episode by yourself. Rung went to your room, knocking quietly before letting himself in- as your best friend, and therapist, he knew the code to your room in case he needed to come in.
When he saw you laying on your side, staring at the wall, he knew you were still thinking about your issues. Good.
“Did you sleep at all?” You sighed as he mass-displaced himself, before sitting down near you. He rubbed your back, and you let out a hoarse hiccup.
Against his better judgement, he picked you up. You didn’t struggle as he placed you in his lap. He ran his digits through your hair, chassis rumbling in a faux-purr.
“I’m here for you, my dear,” he said, quietly, his other arm going around your waist. He held you tightly. A voice in the back of your mind told you that this was out of line- he was holding you too tightly for a therapist, and too close for a friend. You chose to ignore it, needing the comfort more than your common sense.
“Talk to me, sweetheart”. Your head was propped on his shoulder, and you held onto his arm with your hands, trying to ground yourself to the situation.
“I thought I was over it, but God… I’m so fucking lonely. I know I have… all of you. I know I have you, Rung. But…” Another broken sob escaped your throat. “It’s not the same”.
“I miss my home,” you continued. “The ship is nice, but it’s not home. It’s not made for humans. I miss home, I miss my friends- my family…” You let go of his arm, rubbing your eyes.
“I don’t want to be here”.
Rung felt his spark tearing in two- not because you were upset, but because you didn’t want to be here- with him. He’ll change that quickly, though.
“Now, don’t say that- if you weren’t here, you really wouldn’t have anything,” he said carefully. “You have me, you have Swerve and Tailgate. I know it isn’t the same as humans, but you have friends here”. He grasped your chin carefully, pulling your head up to look him in the eye. His thumb stroked your cheek, “accidentally” brushing along your lip a few times.
“We aren’t the same as your people, but we can be your friends. We can be your family,” he assured. “We- I- can make the Lost Light your new home”. He pulled his glasses off, letting you see his pretty optics.
“We all love having you here… We love you, my dear. I love you,” he said. “We can take your mind off of Earth, and help you find new ways to spend your days with us”. He leaned forward.
“Let me give you an example”. He kissed you deeply. Sirens went off in your head. This was unprofessional, Rung was your therapist. Yes, he was your friend, but he’s said he was your designated psychiatrist.
Yet, you didn’t care. You needed something- someone- to help ease your upset, touch-starved mind.
You wrapped your arms around Rung’s neck, and he gripped your hips tightly. You could feel the skin being bruised, but you didn’t care.
You pulled back to breathe, and he smiled at you. One of his hands came back up to your cheek, stroking the skin gently. The other stayed on your hip, massaging the skin and muscle.
“... Can… you stay with me for a while,” you finally asked, feeling tears prick your sore eyes again. He nodded, letting you move to lay back down. He got up, grabbing a spare blanket to wrap around his chassis, before sliding into the bed with you. It creaked under his weight.
You lay on his cushioned chestplate, feeling a bit better with someone to hold you. The voice in the back of your mind still screamed at you to get away- that this was a horrible idea. But you couldn’t bring yourself to listen to it. You needed someone to hold you, and Rung was the best person for the job, at the moment.
He knew you best, and knew just how to calm you down. You’re sure Swerve or Tailgate wouldn’t mind taking his place, but… you didn’t trust them, the way you trusted Rung.
And that’s just how Rung wanted it.
You slowly fell asleep, leaving Rung sitting there with the tv softly droning in the background. When he was sure you were asleep, he chuckled to himself. He stroked your hair, trailing the hand over your head, down your back, and back up to your scalp. Long, slow strokes of a long-time lover that Rung definitely didn’t deserve to do. Yet, here he was.
He knew it wouldn’t have been hard to get you like this. The psyche is a fragile thing, and one as nearly shattered as yours was easy to manipulate.
He stared down at your sleeping face, knowing the privilege of looking at it was all his. No other bot would get the chance to see this for themselves.
He looked at the wall, a smug grin on his face as you, instinctively, curled up against him.
He figures he isn’t going to be moving for a while- so he might as well get some recharge, as well. He’ll sleep easy, knowing you’ll be next to him the entire time. Just as he planned.

i really loved sam as a boyfriend! that was SO GOOD i just died inside. can you please write a fanfic where sam falls in love with an international fan when he met her at one of the concerts and theyre the same age and everything? THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤
thank you so much! and thanks everyone else!! Now i would like to apologize for how long this is… idk what got over me. I hope everyone enjoys! The next request is in the works~
im glad I met u (Part1/5)
You graduated high school a bit ago and things have been working out smoothly for you. Your parents decided to let you go Korea University for the summer program. You were ecstatic and started organizing your plans. You would be staying with another transfer student who you happen to know from online, so you won’t have to worry about that. Your parents provided you with money, but you decided that you would do some english tutoring on the side.
Now you really liked kpop, like who doesn’t? You were sooo hype that you’ll be able to attend shows and fansigns. Sam Kim was a special one though. It would be an understatement to simply call him your fave. But it’s not like your were obsessed with him in an unhealthy way. You just really appreciated his music and all the intricate skills. And yes, okay, it didn’t hurt that he was extremely good looking. Summer time was the best time for outdoor events, especially for acoustics, so you’ll have plenty of times to see him. You would leave for South Korea in the morning. That night you had blissful dreams about adventures to come.
After 2 weeks, you got used to your schedule and how things worked. It was time for you to to attend a performance. Sam was doing a set for some sort of anniversary for a brand. When you arrived the seating area was pack so you decided to sit under a tree in the back. You had a wide scope view of everything, it wasn’t too bad, plus you got some shade. It was a local area so people were walking by going about their daily lives.
Few minutes later you heard fangirl screams, you stood up in excitement while cheering as Sam walked on stage. You couldn’t help but smile. He looked so adorable! He smiled sheepishly to the fans reaction. He introduced himself with the usual, “Hello, I’m 20 years old Sam Kim, from Seattle. Nice to meet you.” And of course somewhere in there he apologizes for his “bad” korean. Yours isn’t too well either but you can understand most of it.
He starts off with ‘No Sense’. Everyone is singing along and doing the fanchants. People stop to watch and listen. It’s a nice experience for you. You embrace the music, the people, the environment, and Sam. He continues to play other songs, you watch as he plays his guitar so passionately. As he sings it’s strong, yet gentle. And even if he slips up once in awhile, he smiles and keeps on at it. A true musician, performing with all his heart.
For his last song he plays “Think About ‘Chu”. It’s one of your favorites, you’re listening and jamming. During that last verse..
“And every single time that would happened, we would listen to this song
look into each other’s eyes and smile
the memory makes me feel our love again”
..you could swear he was looking in your direction. But you couldn’t tell exactly. When he finished he said his goodbyes; him and his band walked off stage.
As you were walking, you thought to yourself, ‘Did he really look at me? There’s no way!’. When you arrived at your apartment you told your roommate everything. The both of you squealed together and thought about different scenarios. What would you even say to him if, when, you met him in person? Would you keep your cool or freak out? You thought about his gorgeous smile and fluffy hair, his voice and his guitar playing. You realized your cheeks were killing you, You’ve never smile this much before! Lucky for you, you were going to head down to Busan that weekend for an Antenna Angels concert.
You take the KTX to Busan. “Train to Busan” you think. You laugh out loud a bit for that stupid little pun. You put your earbuds in and listen to the latest kpop songs on your ride there. The weather is lovely, not too hot and not too cold. You felt such elation and simply couldn’t wait. You loved all of the members of Antenna Angels. They have such diverse skills and when they come together it’s like magic. Once you arrived at the concert only a couple people were there. You picked a decent spot in the front section. You recognized some of the fansite masters there and greeted them. Everyone was really nice and the vibe was chill.
After a hour and a half seats began to fill up and the crowd was buzzing. The MC asked if we were ready and called them out. They came on stage and waved and smiled at the cheers. You made eye contact with Sam for just a second. ‘Probably a fluke,’ you thought. But you were excited to be there and couldn’t wait to see them perform. They did some songs together, some duos, some english covers, some solos, and a little dance here and there. Everyone was filled with glee. Different types of people in the audience you noticed. Guy, girl; young, old; Korean, foreign. Music brought everyone together. The energy just rushed through your body.
Sam started playing “Touch My Body”, one of your favorites for sure. The lyrics made the girls swoon. His voice was just perfect. Then his rap verse comes, which you absolutely love.
“You burn me up
i like you so much that i hate you
you know sometimes i go crazy because of you, you the best
when i -oh-oh- see you in a hoodie -oh-oh- i get dizzy
I wanna give you to the bed in my room, i wanna give you my everything
to be honest, i want to see you
baby, you know that you’re my world
if i said that i want you, what would you say?
where you at? whatchu doing?
baby come inside”
you were filming this through your phone, but then you realize something. You look passed your phone … he was staring directly at you. You looked to the back of you, but no, he was staring right at you. He smiled at your natural antic. There was a tingle in your stomach and all you could do was stare back at him wide eyed. He sang the next verse with such heartfelt. You have already died inside 50 times over. When they were saying their goodbyes, Sam gave you a wave, you managed to wave back. “Is this even real,” you thought.
On your ride back to Seoul, you were overwhelmed with mixed emotions. You felt like crying because ultimately you were so happy. You told your roommate, messaged all your kpop friends, and yeah you did tear up a bit. You went to sleep the most happiest person in the world that night. Later that week, of course not forgetting a moment of your experience, you decided to walk the city and have a relaxed day. Life was good and you couldn’t complain.
That evening you decided to visit this corner cafe spot. Not to many people about not since it was getting late. You walk in and the smell of coffee and the light music comforted you. You ordered a latte and a pastry and turned to go sit down… but then you saw him. You swear you were about to have a heart attack. Sam Kim was sitting right there, by the window, at the cafe you were at. You didn’t know what to do. It’s not like you could just walk up and say hi. You calmed down a bit and observed him. He was writing in a notebook slowly and you could tell he was thinking carefully. His brows were furrowed slightly and he spinned his pen. Most likely a new song he was working on. He was wearing a hoodie and his fair was down. He looked perfect.
You sighed and decided to let your nerves get the best of you. You got your order and was about to go to the other side of the cafe, when all of a sudden you hear, “Hey, wait!” You turn and see Sam looking at you he waves and says, “Come sit here!” You come out of your shock and go over. You say, “It’s nice to meet you.” as you sit down. “I saw you at the event the other week, i was happy to see you at the concert,” he said smiling. Your heart was melting. You smiled back and said, “Of course! I really like your music and the other Angels.” You both chuckled. “Antenna Angels, i can’t get over how cliche i sounds,” he said. “But it’s cute!” you replied. The both of you laughed.
The two of you talked about you coming to Korea and where you’re from, things like. He was happy to hear you both shared a lot in common. “It’s kinda weird you know,” you suddenly said. “What is?”, he asked with a very slight concerned look. “The fact that i know more about you without having to ask” you said. At this he smiled and replied, “Yeah well, i’m glad i can find out more about you though,” and at this you blushed. The both of you have similar tastes in music, humor, even food! The compatibility was there no doubt about it. He listened with care when you told him some fun things about your past and such. His eyes are focused on you only and his eye-smiles made him look even cuter.
About two hours later of talking, you both realized it was night. Sam suggests the two of you exchange KakaoTalk ids and you happily comply. The two of you walked outside. “Hey, maybe we should meet up soon? Likes there’s a lot of places out here i haven’t been yet.. And i think it would be nice to go with you,” he asks while scratching his head. You scream a little inside. You smile and say, “That would be great! Just hit me up when you’re free.” “Awesome!” he says smiling wide. The two of you bid your goodbyes and you walk in your direction. You think about it for a sec, but you look back. He’s staring at you with those same loving eyes from the concert. You wave and he waves back, walking his way. As you hit the corner, you stop and lean against the wall comprehending everything that just happen.
“This is real,” you whisper to yourself.

Latest skincare routine
Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re enjoying the week. We’re heading to the airport, so I’ll be sure to share lots of adventures on IG stories when I have those internets. In the meantime, I thought today would be a good day for a skincare post! I’ve had some requests to share my current routine, so I thought I’d post the goods. My routine fluctuates depending on the time of year or if I’ve found new products, but here’s what it looks like right now. I always love to learn about new techniques and products so if there’s a new fave in your life, please share the love in the comments section so we can all shop together.
My daily skincare routine:
1) Wash:
My skin is sensitive and my eyes are annoyingly sensitive. (Example A.) I have to be careful what I use on my eyes, or they burn, turn red, or I get these weird little bumps from too much oil. For now, my favorite cleanser is this blueberry bounce cleanser. It’s so gentle that I can actually use it on my eyes to get off eye makeup without it hurting or burning. (I put some with water on a washcloth and carefully rub the makeup off my eyes and then rinse.) I used to use jojoba oil to remove eye makeup but realized I was getting more of the little bumps on and around my eyes. I stopped using it and switched purely to the blueberry bounce cleanser. The blueberry scent is beautiful and it’s very gentle.
Exfoliate: to exfoliate, I use a few different things. This Eminence exfoliator smells gorgeous and isn’t too harsh. Rice powder absorbs oil while lactic and salicylic acids remove dead skin cells. The strawberries and rhubarb infuse the skin with antioxidants. Every few days, I also use this Overnight Peel. It’s one of my very favorite products because it makes skin tight, glowing, and helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It’s seriously magic in a bottle. (Friends who have used this noticed a difference within 24 hours!)
Once a week, I’ll also use the charcoal mask to help with impurities and balance my skin. The best part about this mask is watching every single pore appear. YIIKES. You wash it away and skin feels remarkably brighter and smoother.
2) Prep:
Toner! I’ve tried a few different ones that I rotate between and love. Currently I’m using this green tea toner. It’s jasmine water facial toner infused with green tea, willow bark, and witch hazel to balance, clarify, and hydrate combination, oily, and blemish prone complexions. I feel like it really smooths out my skin and preps it for heavy moisturizer before bed, or for daily moisturizer and makeup in the morning.
The other toners in the rotation:
– Countertime hydrating essence. This is like a toner but more beneficial because it delivers nutrients into the skin. This product uses Beautycounter’s plant-based alternative to Retinol: a combo of bakuchiol and Swiss Alpine Rose. It also includes sea water for vital nutrients and minerals to the skin and fermented sugars to slow aging and optimize hydration.
– Wahmisa organic flower deep rich essence toner: My first experience with a toner was with this one and the first night I tried it, I was like, “I”VE BEEN MISSING OUT MY ENTIRE LIFE.” This one smells so gorgeous, like a floral perfume and is made with mostly organic ingredients. The only problem is that it’s harder to find now. I think I used to order it from the Glow Recipe website but it’s no longer available and I heard the ones on Amazon aren’t always legit.
– fresh rose floral toner. It smells dreamy and is alcohol-free. It’s mostly rosewater, so I think you can absolutely find similar versions at the health food store for less.
3) Nourish:
I alternate between serums, usually using this Countertime serum and the Boissance serum. They both use a plant-based retinol and help with firmness and elasticity. I haven’t noticed a huge difference between the two – I love them both – but the Countertime version has better ingredients and also includes the Swiss Alpine Rose to boost antioxidant defense.
4) Moisturize
Daytime: Skinmedica Defense Moisturizer SPF 35. I mix this with tarte bb cream or the Dew Skin for moisturizer. I don’t usually use true foundation on my skin because it looks and feels heavy.
Nighttime: My night cream love is the Supreme Cream. It feels like the most luxurious moisturizing cream, but isn’t greasy. It helps with elasticity, hydration, and firmness.
I used to be obsessed with this moisturizer (and it was a major splurge about twice a year) but they changed the formula! I bought one and it was super greasy and gross. Thankfully, Countertime Surpreme Cream came out a few months after that and I’ve been super happy with the switch.
Occasional:
This watermelon sleeping mask. It goes on in a thin layer and smells like watermelon Jolly Ranchers. (I think I learned from this post that scent is a game changer for me when it comes to skincare. It has to be unscented or smell incredible.) The next morning, my skin feels soft and smooth. It’s also gentle enough that I can let Liv use it occasionally and she feels fancy.
5) Eye cream:
This is my go-to eye cream. The moisture level adapts to what you need, so I’ve found that it’s the perfect amount of hydration without being too thick or oily. I also love the Countertime eye cream.
Tools: I use this gua sha set and jade roller! I try to use them at least once a day to help reduce puffiness and increase blood flow (nutrients and oxygen) to my face. I also dry brush my skin using this dry brush whenever I take a shower, working towards my heart in long sweeping motions. I do clockwise on my stomach and booty.
Whew! So there ya go. It’s funny because it’s easy to think you don’t use a ton of products, but when you sit down to actually list them, it’s a lot! This is why it’s important for me to use safer options whenever I can because the cumulative effects add up. (I pick and choose where it makes sense for my life. I’ll never stop using my beloved Moroccan oil.)
I’ll do an updated makeup post soon!
So tell me, friends: what’s your skincare must-have? Anything amazing that you’ve recently discovered??
xoxo
Gina
