Did you read the book I recommended? Do you understand now, my Dorian?
There were so many ways you could’ve spun the end of us, and you chose to paint me as a liar? Well, I suppose I shouldn’t worry how you paint your words. You were never the artist you portrayed yourself as; too technical and logical, you never stitched your very skin to what you create like I did. You could’ve easily shown your work to anyone, without feeling like it bore your very soul. Maybe you made the right choice in separating yourself from your work, my heavy involvement, no, my obsessive entanglement with my work, has only been a deficit. I think there’s quite a bit of truth in the saying that the muse longs to be the artist, and the artist yearns to be the muse. For years I prayed to be in your spot, to exist in the world beautifully, I paint my face 100 layers thick and am considered as much as art as plain grey wallpaper, you’re considered worthy of sculptures in your honor without effort. I longed to have your ability to convince others that your whims were their very own, to have those who you simply consider amusing occasionally, writing hundreds of poems, even entire books about you. But I could never give up my devotion, even if it meant a beautiful youth like yours. I am unfortunately the most known artist to display you, I have burned my paintings and ground my sculptures to dust, now all that is left of the works of you, are my words.

Omg I just saw that u write for atsv!! So I was wondering if u could do one with a female reader x hobie where the readers quite reserved to everyone in public (maybe she’d been a spidey longer so she’s lost more people? Idk why she’d be reserved bc I cannot write for shot lmao) and people think she’s super cold but then they like?? Walk in, and she’s like open and warm with Hobie (it doesn’t matter if she’s loud or not) and they kinda just look at the scene in shock like wtf and Pav is sort of smug bc he knew all along and then it comes out that they’re dating?
It Sounds Nice coming from You.
Hobie Brown x Fem!Spidey Reader
“I totally called it.” “Don’t even speak, Pavitr.”
kisses him cause he my bf (-compulsive liar)
People whispered about you. Spider people and the general public alike. Your city spreading gossip, rumours and misinformation to try and figure out who you were, but that was a Spiderwoman affair, every one of them dealt with it.
But having people same as you talk in hushed tones, glancing at you as you walked past. That’s a new kind of feeling.
The Spider Society didn’t exactly favour you, per se. There was nothing inherently wrong with you either, so no reason to get rid of you. But you were just so silent. No one knew a thing about you.
You mostly kept to yourself around base, never really trying too hard to make friends, you were well known enough not to be questioned. A loyal fighter was what you were recognised for, not your personality, your abilities.
There were still some people that managed to creep their way in though, their hearts so full of love, you didn’t know how to refuse them.
So you conceded. You let them in, and begged to any deity that would listen not to take them from you.
—
Hobie knew you as someone who could listen. Who understood him rather than challenged his beliefs. Not that he had any, but that was the point.
Your lack of input made him feel accepted in going on tangents of why he thought the way he did. And you just sat, and listened. A kind heart and an open mind.
Which eventually led to him falling for that kind heart. Tripping over his own feet to please your silent self. To get those small smiles or amused huffs out of you.
The occasional time you spoke to him, under hushed breaths and fond tones. God, he couldn’t take it.
The way your accent forms over each and every word, how your voice was akin to honey malt, sweet and addicting. Only giving him small doses, but he was the only one who got those doses. Only him, and you, and the words you spoke or times you listened.
He knows that people thought you were cold, or unloving. And maybe you were at first, maybe he thought you were. But he figured you out fast. Where you couldn’t talk, you could touch. Brushing your hands over his arm to get his attention. Linking your hand through his and dragging him away from people you don’t want to be near, he would smile down at you and follow along like a lost puppy. How your brows would crease a certain way, or nose would scrunch a little when you found distaste in things. He was a fool for you.
Where you lacked in verbal communication, you strived in every other category. So when some Spider-people decided to come to him, urging him for answers about you.
Telling him that he wasn’t sure you even wanted to be here—, Hobie would shut down the conversation quicker than thought to be possible. Giving a simple “She’s just quiet.”, and ditching the moment the words are out of his mouth.
It’d worked—, for a while. Ignoring the demeaning or conspiratorial comments made about you by spider-people a-kind. But eventually it got the better of him. Having him borderline snarl at the people who would talk shit right in front of his, or your, face.
“She’s silent, ain’t she?”
“Yeah. Peter 48 said she was like that ‘cause she killed her parents, made ‘er real quiet.”
“Jesus christ. Wouldn’t surprise me, she’s a freak.”
“Dude—“ One of the two spiders, the first one, turned to Hobie. Spider-senses ringing. Hobie stated back at them, deadpan and unblinking. “Don’t.”
The younger spider paled, quickly trying to backtrack.
“Hey— Hobie. I— Didn’t mean it. Was just repeating what I heard, ykno—“
“Cut it, mate.”
He squeaked, head tilting down in respect, the other spider following.
“Stop spreading shit rumours like ‘at. It ain’t fun when you’re the subject. ‘S it?”
“No.”
“Mm.”
Hobie walked past them smoothly, brushing shoulders with the kid just to scare him a little more. When he was far enough away, he heard them start to whisper to one another. “Fuck man, that was close. He could tell Miguel, and then we’d be out.”
“Jesus..”
He felt rather accomplished that day.
—
It was days later where you were brought up around him again. He’d been texting you, the upper half of his body hanging from Miguel’s platform, his wicks shifting every time he moved.
Miguel and Lyla were talking amongst themselves, clicking through holograms and sorting things out for potential anomalies.
Jess, Pavitr and Gwen had walked into the room chatting, Pav and Gwen expressing their excitement rather loudly.
He glanced up at them from his phone, you were still typing.
immm gonna b homein ten just be patient >:(
I’m patient 🦑

mmmmmm yummyyyy
He can’t die, he’s immortal
The ‘Texting’ bubble popped up on his screen.
“Hey, Hobie!”
Pavitr was running up to him, looking from his lowered position below the elevated platform.
He slipped further down the platform, slumping slowly as he greeted Pavitr upside down.
“Pav, my guy!”
Pavitr bounced on the balls of his feet, smiling wide at his friend.
“What’chu doing up there?”
His eyes darted to Miguel and Lyla, ending their conversation.
Smirking, he whispered to Hobie, “With the grump.”
Hobie snickered, gaining a disapproving look from Jess.
“Textin’ [Name].”
Just then, the next message from you showed.
immortal ??? how consistent of him to live
He grinned, typing back quickly while Pavitr eyed him knowingly.
He’s a squid, he’s more fluid than anything
ihu
terrivle joke
No, you don’t
And it was great
wtvr >:P
Hobie grabbed the ledge of the platform and swung down, landing softly in front of Pavitr and pocketed his phone.
“Glad ya ‘ere. Those two can’t keep it quiet, aye?” He said, pointing back towards Lyla and Miguel.
“They do argue very often.”
“Nah, Lyla don’t argue, mate. Just the hardass.”
Pavitr snorted and Hobie softly punched his stomach in jest, earning one from Pav to the chest, and starting a round of playful punching. Pavitr laughed as Hobie brought him into a headlock, scrunching his fist over the shorter man’s hair and rubbing it in.
They let up when they heard Lyla teasing Miguel for something again, giggling to each other at his expense.
He threw an arm over his fluffy haired friend and leaned his weight on him. Pav smiled up at him once more, brighter now. Before he could speak, Gwen’s voice echoed through the barren room.
“Same reason as you, I’m guessing.”
Hobie turned his head towards her, dropping himself off Pav and standing up straight again. Smiling at her as she reached him, and went in to hug her briefly. When they disconnected, he spoke again.
“Yeah—, No clue then, mini-punk.”
“Don’t call me that.”
“Neither big bad has said nothin’ to me yet.”
“Seriously, are we going to skip over that?”
“Maybe they’re waiting until [Name] is here!” Pavitr chimed in.
“What does mini-punk even mean!”
“Not exactly, Pavitr.”
Jess, who now was standing next to Miguel, spoke.
The trio turned to face the two elder spider-people.
“Huh?”
“We wanted to have a discussion with the three of you—.” Miguel put his hands on his hips, authority that Hobie only saw as a challenge emanating from his figure.
“—Away from [Name], she’s already been consulted.”
Hobies eyes narrowed, the atmosphere in the room suddenly shifting to something a lot less unfriendly, and a lot more cautious.
Jess caught wind of the younger man’s tense stature and shuffled forward a step, not unwilling to intervene.
“Nothing too bad, just—,” He paused for a moment, the dense light from the reflective floors making the contours of his face pop.
Hobie watched with batted breath, posture only slightly relaxing from the statement. The crease in his brows begging to be drawn, yet his pokerface was something to be beat.
“,—Addressing her.. lack of communication.”
A shiver raked down the brit’s body, physically restraining himself from chewing this man out with a rebuttal.
“Wha’ ‘bout it?”
His gruff voice was a stark indicator of his annoyance.
“Well, ignoring the rumours following her—,”
Hobie, the usually rather sensical man, was getting more agitated by the minute.
“,—We’ve noticed a certain independence that she holds. Something not many others do.”
The punk quirked a brow.
“So?” Gwen was the one to talk now.
“That doesn’t seem very serious, ‘f you ask me.” She laughed lightly, trying to lighten the mood. Something Pavitr seemed a tad scared to do. There was a lot of competition in the air right now, he wasn’t very competitive.
“Exactly, it’s not.”
Jess cut in, seeing how terribly Miguel started this conversation made her cringe.
“It’s not—, but,” She shook her head, hair falling prettily with every move. “,Her ‘independence’, has been more akin to ‘lack of teamwork’. In some cases.”
Gwen started to speak again, her eyebrows furrowed, just as Hobies now were. He was right about brewing with offence.
“So!—,” Jess cut her off before she could begin.
“So there’s no need for her to have distractions anymore. From now on, she will not be going on team missions. Just solo’s.”
“Wha—! You’re cutting her off?!”
“Gwen, it’s not like that.”
“Like hell it isnt! She’s a part of us!”
“Doesn’t this mean she’s going to be in more danger?” Pavitr spoke up, concerned.
“No— well, not unless—,”
“Unless!? You’ve gotta’ be kidding!” Gwen choked out.
“And what does ‘consulted’ mean! Did she agree to this?!—“
They continued to argue, Gwen and Pavitr advocating for your teamwork skills while Miguel and Jess had made up their mind.
“No communication,” He pinched the bridge of his nose “,Fuck off.” Hobie scoffed under his breath, turning to leave and storming out.
The voices of Miguel, Jess and his friends following him through the portal to you.
—
“You agreed to this?”
lIts not like they’re wrong, I just hold you all back.”
He huffed, exasperated. Not only were you putting yourself in danger, you were doing it alone. And letting some guy who has a borderline vendetta against teens be the call for it.
“Now, you know that’s not tr—“
His stern voice was cut off by the frown on your face quivering. A due sign of you nearing to cry.
“Oh, shit— C’mon dollface, c’mere.”
He sat down on your shared bed, scooting against the headboard and bringing you into his lap. A soothing hand ran over your back as you tried to reel in your embarrassment.
“I really didn’t mean to agree.”
Hobie sighed, pushing your head into his neck and watching how the rings adorning his fingers rose goosebumps in their path. “I know, sweet’eart.”
And he did know, the moment that it had been a meeting addressed solely with just Jess and Miguel, he knew that Peter had been excluded for a reason. That Miles had been sent after an anomaly as an unknowing distraction for Peter to chase after. He knew those two intimidated you. And the fear of parental disappointment was something they used on you—, young, sweet you. That only ever got hurt because she didn’t want her problems to hurt others, or herself.
You had opened up to him once. Told him what everyone twisted when they whispered sickening words. A story unlike the rumours crowding your reputation.
How no, you hadn’t killed your parents, or siblings, or whatever messed up thing people claimed of you.
You told him how you hadn’t been bitten yet. How, when your family was killed, you hadn’t had any powers. So you couldn’t save them. And it wasn’t even canon. Nothing could’ve stopped them from dying, but it didn’t have to happen. And that was the guilt that weighed on you. How no matter the hardships your parents put you through, a kid neglected of attention. You still would rather die a million times for them to live once.
And it’s all “would”, and never “can”.
Other spider-people don’t have to live with the fact their parents died for nothing. Was what you said. A messed up thought, no doubt. And one you felt guilty for. But the sole continuer of this sorrow-filled silence. Which has worked well enough to protect you so far, why is Hobie one to break that?
Because you love him, you guess.
His hands slid further down your back, resting on the curve of your waist in his lap.
His breathing soothed yours. The shuddering breaths you had been giving to stop your tears, also stopped.
“You wanna talk about your day instead, luv?”
“Yeah, thank you Hobie.”
“Love when you say my name, Babydoll. So pretty and sweet like that.”
Wrapping your hands around his lithe waist, you hummed. Beginning your recount of the day in the honeyed, reserved tone you’d always held.
—
Around half an hour had passed with Gwen arguing against Miguel before Peter showed up, Moles in tow.
“What’s all this about?” His slippers flopped when he walked and the baby carrier strapped to his chest shifted every time a sleeping MayDay squirmed to get comfortable.
“This—, This asshole!”
“Gwen.” Jess chastised her.
Gwen ignored it, pointing at Miguel accusingly. “—Kicked [Name] off the team!”
“Not kicked.”
“You said she wasn’t going with us anymore.”
Miles looked offended by the prospect. “Why?”
“She’s not kicked, she’s simply better off solo.”
“Oh, so it’s our fault then!”
“Gwendolyne.”
“All of you, stop.”
Peters voice ended the bickering, having learnt since fatherhood exactly how to use said voice. “We are not sending an 18 year old on solo mission against anomalies.”
“Since when did you have a say—“
“Miguel. You’re an idiot if you think i’m going to let that happen. That’s a kid.”
“She’s an adult.”
“When it’s convenient to you.”
Miguel pinched his nose bridge, growling under his breath. Jess spared a glance at him before wincing and backing down from the conversation.
“She doesn’t talk to people.”
“I’m sure she does, just not to you.” Gwen cut in.
“Yeah, her and Hobie talk a lot.” Miles prepped up on his toes. Pavitr smiled and hummed an agreement.
“Not that I’ve seen.”
Peter gave him another disapproving look. “Disregarding that. The fact you decided to not consult me on this decision is another reason that it’s not happening.”
“Consult? Like some council, please.” Miguel scoffed at him, rolling his eyes and turning to open a holographic tab.
“Yes, like some council. Someone’s gotta be the brains ‘round here.” The father joked, coddling MayDay as she cooed.
“I’m going to go inform [Name] the retraction of this decision.”
“Don’t you dare.”
“Oops too late, portals open.”
“Can I come with?” Miles jogged after Peter, hopping quickly through the portal, Peter, Gwen and Pavitr following. Not without Gwen flipping Miguel off as she went. “We’ll sort something out, she can go duos with Hobie.” Jess put a hand on his shoulder, watching as he stared off to where the portal had previously been with a sided expression before sighing.
“Yeah..”
“That went great.” Lyla dragged, popping up on Miguel’s shoulder.
“I’m a second away from shutting you off.”
The AI blew a raspberry at her companion, and disappeared.
—
He had went off on a tangent about some movie he saw, or song he’d heard. Hobie honestly couldn’t remember, he was too focused on you. The way your voice sounded, how open you were being with him when every now and then you would respond to him. The hearts in his eyes were probably from how heavy his own was beating. Staring at you like a sinner to a prophet.
You had moved down from his lap, now curled against his side, head leaning on his shoulder and hand resting on his chest. At some point, the movie you had been watching before Hobie showed up was unpaused, and serving as background noise for his quiet rambling.
Both of you pressed under a blanket to beat the cold, and the darkness outside your window being killed off by the lights strung across your room. He doesn’t think he’s ever felt this cozy, this utterly comfortable.
Sparks of colour strung out of nowhere, neither of them really seeing it at first, up until it spat out Miles. He stumbled forward a little and went to greet you before taking on the scene. You and Hobie cuddled up on a bed, blanket wrapped around you both, fire going, people singing. He was exaggerating the last parts, but it felt necessary for something so unexpected.
“Hey—, guys.” The awkward teen managed, before Peter walked through the portal with the other two in tow.
“Woah, no mean to interrupt.”
Peter put his hands up in surrender. Hobie snorted, it wasn’t like you were incapable of affection, It just seems he was the only one who got it.
“I totally called it.”
“Don’t even speak, Pavitr.”
He pouted, before giggling and waltzing over to sit next to the both of you. Flopping down on the bed and turning to watch the TV.
“Oh my god, I love this movie!”
“Favourite character?” You inquired. A collective raise of eyebrows was shown throughout the room.
Gwen shuffling over to sit down as well, a baffled look on her face.
“The horse.”
“Pff- Max?” Hobie snorted at Pav. Giving the still rather confused Miles - Peter duo a reassuring smile. And greeting Gwen with a fist bump, she smiled wearily at him before her smirk filled out and she punched his arm in congrats.
Pavitr nodded and laughed, gasping excitedly when the scene on the lake showed up. “Perfect timing.”
You glanced up at Hobie, Miles and Peter finding somewhere to sit as well, talking quietly amongst themselves.
He smiled at you, bringing you in closer while Pavitr sat smug.
The air of confusion slowly dissipated into something accepting, none but Pavitr had really expected you to be so.. Open. But they came to find they didn’t exactly mind it.
—
Everyone had left by now, the knowledge that you didn’t have to go on dangerous missions alone anymore leaving Hobie satisfied and you comforted.
“You doin’ right, babe?”
“Yeah, Hobes.”
You gripped his shirt a tad tighter and yawned, eyes drifting more shut as the minutes ticked down. “Wanna go t’ bed?”
“We’re in bed, dummy.”
He shot you a playful look.
“Don’ ge’ smart with me, young lady.”
You smiled at him before he made the decision to shuffle you both down in bed to get comfortable, switching off the lights by the outlet. He moved back to you, letting his whole body rest near yours, and letting you initiate any contact wanted.
A leg wrapped around his, and your arm still picking the fabric of his shirt.
“Sleep, sweethear’.”
“Mhmmph.”
Hobies breathe lulled you to sleep, white noise against your racing thoughts. He watched you fall, your trust in him to keep you safe was enough to make a man weak. He smiled, looking out your shared window at the city life below.
No crime, no anomaly or misshaped villain could possibly drag him away from you.

the Cullens with a reader who can't show emotions and finally smiles after 10 years because of something cute the cullens did?
The Cullens when their SO finally smiles
I’m so terrible at making titles I’m sorry guys. Also for all of these scenarios I was envisioning that the reader is a vampire as well so do with that what you will
Thank you for requesting and I hope you enjoy!
Edward:
He turned you years ago now
And he’s known you for even longer than that
And for all those years, you have never outwardly shown your emotions
The most he gets from you is a furrow of the brows or a slight frown
It frustrated him a LOT at first
He just felt like he could never get through to you
But over the years of reading your mind and picking up on your other cues as to what you’re feeling, he’s learned to be okay
The two of you are sitting in one of your classes in school
Your Spanish teacher is currently talking about basic vocab for the upcoming unit
You two weren’t paying attention, choosing instead to just look at each other, when the teacher calls Edward’s name
Mr. Cullen, mind telling me what this is called?” She points to the whiteboard that was currently displaying a picture of a shirt
“Camisa.”
“Wrong.”
“What?”
The look on Edward’s face was priceless, a mix between betrayal, mortification, and confusion
“This is a t-shirt, the word is camiseta. I suggest paying more attention next time.”
You wished you had gotten a picture of the snarl on his face
You couldn’t help the smile that formed on your lips as you giggled silently at Edward’s frustration
Instantly, all of his negative emotions were gone
You, the love of his life, the light of his world, the stone statue in his room, was smiling
He was in awe
He knew that he could never forget anything, his memory too perfect for that, but he still tried his best to commit your face to memory as best as he could
You noticed him staring and straightened your face out
He let it go until class was over, but as soon as the bell rang he grabbed you and pulled you into the hallway
“I always knew your face was capable of emotion”
“Nuh uh. My face is actually always permanently stuck like this”
“Liar”
Even if you never smile again, he can finally rest easy knowing what your gorgeous smile looks like
Even if it was at his expense
Alice:
She’s sort of used to not being able to pick up on emotions
Jasper’s always been more focused on not killing people, it’s not often that he’s comfortable enough to laugh
But then again, he shows discomfort on his face
You show nothing
Sure she was a little frustrated by it, but she got over it
Despite that, she loves you, and she loves everything about you
It’s not like this is a dealbreaker or anything
So life moves on
You were turned a couple of years ago by Carlisle, but you and Alice are only now getting married
You wanted to make sure that you could invite your human family without wanting to hurt them
And ten years was plenty time for that
You were currently standing back to back with Alice, the ends of her flowy dress were tickling your ankles
It was time for the first look, and you both were so excited
Carlisle and Esme stood nearby, Rosalie right in front of you two
“Okay, on the count of three, turn to look at each other. One, two, three”
You both whipped around
And before you stood the ethereal Alice
Dressed in a flowy dress with light purple accents, flowery clips in her short hair, and a huge smile on her face
She looked amazing
There were no words in your mind to describe her
So you just smiled
A big, toothy grin as you took in your future wife
You didn’t even get a chance to say anything before you were almost tackled to the ground by Alice
“This is the best wedding gift I could have asked for!!! I saw in a vision that you gave me an amazing gift but I didn’t get to see what it was! Thank you thank you thank you!”
“Alice I didn’t get you a gift?”
You were so confused
“Of course you did, silly. This right here.”
And with that she kissed you right on your smiling mouth
Jasper:
He’s sort of similar to you
Whenever he’s out in public, he’s too focused on not letting his urges take over
He doesn’t usually smile at jokes, frown at problems, or just generally emote
But when he’s home and away from temptation, he becomes more himself
Only, you don’t change
You’re the same stonefaced self you always are
It’s not too hard for him to deal with, he can feel your emotions
He knows when you’re happy, sad, angry, scared, everything
But of course, he has always wondered what your smile might look like
If he could sleep, he would dream about it
But he never pushes you
It’s a nice, October day
The trees are orange, yellow, and red. The air smells like honey and hot cocoa, and Jasper’s taking you to a horseback riding farm
He wanted to connect to his roots, and prove to you that he was capable of riding a horse at one point
You were both set up with your own horse
Yours was named Princess because she always carried herself with a certain pride
Jasper’s was called Toothache cause he likes to hit people in the jaw
He insisted on taking the difficult one, he claimed over and over that he would be okay
You and Princess were quick buddies, galloping around the pen with ease
Jasper was still trying to get within five feet of Toothache
He decided to try approaching from behind, seeing if the element of surprise would work
But all that got him was a hoof straight to the jaw
You couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled out of your throat, a quick, dry guffaw as you looked on in disbelief
Jasper was almost too preoccupied with his anger at the horse to notice, but he did
In an instant he was next to you, staring deeply into your face which was now lit up with laughter
“Horse be damned, we’re goin home, sugar”
He cuddled you the rest of the night
Rosalie:
She was and is very frustrated at your lack of emotion
She’s not asking you to smile 24/7
But once would be nice
The two of you were out and about
Carlisle needed some more supplies for his home clinic, but his schedule for the week wouldn’t allow him to go get them himself
So he wrote a list for whichever one of his kids wanted to go get them for him
You wanted to do it, and since Rosalie loves you, she decided to go to
That’s how you ended up standing under the awning of a RiteAid as the rain beat harshly against the ground
Originally, you guys were going to wait until the rain stopped to run out to Rosalie’s car
But it’s been 7 minutes (not that you were counting) and it only kept pouring
“Do you want to make a run for it?” You asked
“And get my hair wet? No thanks. We can wait, unless you’re in a rush?”
“No I’m good”
And so you kept waiting
As you were standing there, a car veered into the wet parking lot, tires squealing as it turned the sharp corners
It whipped past the front of the store… and splashed a huge puddle onto you and Rosalie
You stood there shocked for a moment, vaguely registering your newly wet socks, when you heard Rose shriek next to you
“I’m gonna kill that fucking asshole!”
Cue a complete meltdown
She’s yelling about the manner in which she will stalk him, slowly make him paranoid, skin him, and then leave his body for his family to find
All while looking like a wet rat
You can’t help but have a goofy smile on your face, your beautiful wife ranting angrily about some stupid teenager
“Are you laughing at me? I swear to god I’ll skin you too. This is unbelievable!”
Once she’s calmed down later she can’t believe that she missed a once in a lifetime opportunity because she was so angry
A couple kisses should calm her down though
Emmett:
He prides himself on being a pretty funny guy
He cracks jokes all the time
I mean, his speech at Bella and Edward’s wedding was full of jokes and innuendos
His ego gets a little bruised every time you don’t laugh at one of his jokes
He knows that you don’t laugh at anything, but still
He would LOVE to be the exception
But 10+ years and he’s started to lose hope about that
That doesn’t stop him from trying though
You two were walking in the mall, hopping from store to store as you bought everything and Emmett carried it all
Across the aisle, you see two people, a guy and a girl
The guy was wearing one of those alpha wolf t-shirts, the words “mess with the alpha, you get the roar” printed boldly on the back
The girl was wearing galaxy leggings, a shirt with a potato on it, and a cat ear headband
The guy took his fedora off of his head, holding it up so that it covered both his and his girlfriend’s faces while they kissed- for far too long, you might add
As you were standing in complete awe at the sight in front of you, you felt Emmett lean close to your ear
“Don’t wowwy kitten, daddy wiww pwotect you”
You lost it
You let out a loud laugh followed by giggles, doubling over as you clutched your middle
Now it was Emmett’s turn to stand there in shock
“Out of all of the carefully planned out, methodical jokes, pranks, and everything else, you laugh at a Daddy’s Kitten joke?????”
He doesn’t know whether to be happy or angry
Esme:
Again, she’s a little upset that you don’t show how you feel
Mostly she’s just worried that you’re gonna end up being emotionally constipated like Pre-Bella Edward
She does not want to deal with that again
Over the years, she’s gotten both more relaxed and more concerned
More relaxed because she’s come to realize that that’s just how you are
More concerned because you would really think that your SO would show some kind of emotion over the span of so many years
But whatever
She tries not to worry too much
Esme had recently joined a local book club with some of the other moms in their newest town
She loved her little group of friends, it gave her an excuse to leave the house
One of the girls had a birthday coming up, and Esme decided to bake her a cake
You’re sitting at the kitchen island, soft music playing from the radio as Esme floats around the room
All of the ingredients litter the counters, looking out of place in the normally empty kitchen
She’s humming as she’s whisking the eggs and milk together
You’re content just to watch her, making occasional small-talk in between phases of her concentrating
Hours later, it’s finally done
Nothing too extravagant, a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and delicate lettering of the woman’s name on top
Esme’s standing behind her creation with a huge smile on her face, pride obvious in her expression
Only she’s got something else on her face too
A little smear of the chocolate frosting right above her chin
You walk over to her, grabbing her face in your hands
She’s beaming at you, and you can’t help the small smile that makes its way onto your face as you wipe off the frosting
She stares at you for a moment with her mouth open, before she shoots you a loving gaze
“This suits you, darling, you should do it more”
And she kisses that smile right off
Carlisle:
He’s probably the least concerned
He’s met many people over his many years of life
No two people are exactly the same, and some people are really different
You don’t show emotion, that just makes you unique, it makes you you
So he’s not too worried
He questioned you briefly while you were still alive if you had depression or something like that
But after you said no, he let it up
Carlisle is sitting at his home desk, writing some papers for the clinic
He’s stressed, very visibly so
And you know exactly why
A new patient came in not too long ago, a young girl who he told you reminds him a lot of this girl he used to babysit when he was still alive
She’s incredibly ill and no one can figure out why
All of the tests show mixed results, the only concrete knowledge they have is that she’s dying
The dark circles under his eyes are prominent
He hasn’t gone hunting since the girl arrived by ambulance one night over two weeks ago
And before that he hadn’t hunted in a while
His skin is greying, his motions are visibly slower, his reactions more delayed
Even at this state, he’s in better condition than most humans, but this is not the man you know
Which is why you’re here with him
You’ve been trying to convince him to go hunting for a while, to just take a break and rest, but he won’t listen
So you’ve resorted to just hanging out with him
It’s better than nothing after all
But as you look over his shoulder to see what he’s writing, you find that you can’t make anything out
Various letters of English words are mixed in with Greek and Chinese characters, accent marks hover over letters, and the punctuation is all messed up
“Carlisle… is that a new language you made up?”
He stops for a second, sets his pen down, and really looks at what he’s been writing for the last 10 minutes
And then he just starts laughing
And you can’t help but smile too
“Are you finally gonna admit defeat and come relax for a little bit?”
He spins around to face you, fully taking in the smile on your face, before rising to place a kiss on your forehead
“Fine, let’s go cuddle”
Vampire! Bella:
She thinks you’re freaky
She’s always been a bad liar, so she can’t hold back reactions even if she wanted to
You can’t seem to react even if you wanted to
She thinks it’s so weird
She’s tried her hardest over the years to get something-anything out of you, but nada
She’s sort of given up by now
You two are out hunting
She insisted on running all the way to New Mexico to find a cougar, so off you went
You’re running through the trees, dodging branches and leaping over roots as you both follow on the tail of your prey
“Go that way, I’ll go this way, and we’ll trap it”
“Got it” you said, and veered off to the right
You managed to come up on the side of the cougar, pouncing on it and taking it down after a bit of a struggle
Only, you noticed Bella was nowhere to be seen
You left your now dead food behind to go searching for her
All it took was one call of her name for you to hear a response… very very far away
“Where the hell are you?”
“Down here!”
You looked down over the cliff’s edge to see Bella at the bottom
Dirt on her face, twigs in her hair, and her high heeled boots broken
You couldn’t help but laugh
“Really? That’s what it takes you fucking asshole? Me falling off a cliff? Oh, you’re so dead when I get up there!”
So naturally you make a run for it

MATTHEO RIDDLE HAD ALWAYS PRIDED HIMSELF ON HIS KEEN OBSERVATIONAL SKILLS. he was known to know everything about everyone at hogwarts, and nothing escaped his notice, especially when it came to his lover, you. today was no different. the slytherin had slipped into the library unnoticed, his intent to surprise you during your study session with a brief visit. but as he approached, he paused in his tracks, concealed by a towering bookshelf.
you were sitting at your usual spot, surrounded by stacks of books and hidden behind a particularly large bookshelf. you were engrossed in your studies, your brows furrowed in concentration as your eyes followed and drank every word on the pages. mattheo felt a swell of pride at the sight of you, his heart beating a little faster. he admired how hard you worked and how you could put yourself into the stuff you did.
but something different caught his eye at the moment. with a casual flick of your wrist, you muttered a quiet "accio," and one of the books from a distant shelf flew right into your open hand. you didn't even glance up, your focus never wavering from the text in front of you. mattheo's eyes widened, his mouth falling open slightly. wandless magic. he had heard of it, of course, but seeing it performed so effortlessly was a different matter entirely. he would be a liar if he said he didn’t fall in love with you a bit more upon the sight.
he stepped out from behind the bookshelf, his curiosity piqued. "[name]," he called softly, not wanting to startle you.
you looked up, surprised but pleased to see your boyfriend. wasn’t he supposed to be at the quidditch practice? "mattheo, what are you doing here?"
he ignored your question for the moment, moving closer before taking a seat opposite you . "you can do wandless magic?" his voice was laced with awe and a hint of disbelief.
you shrugged, a small smile playing on your lips. "i suppose so. it just . . . happens sometimes."
mattheo's mind raced with questions. "how long have you been able to do this?"
"i'm not sure," you admitted, closing the book you had been reading. it looked like you were done with studying anyway. "i've never really thought much about it. it's just always been easier for me to do things without my wand."
he leaned back in his chair, still processing what he had seen. "that's incredible, princess. do you know how rare and powerful that is?" mattheo couldn't help but marvel at you. he had always known you were special, but this was something else entirely. "have you shown anyone else?"
"no, you're the first to see. i didn't think it was that big of a deal."
"not a big deal?" he echoed, incredulous as he gaped at you with his dark eyes shining. he looked like it was christmas all over again. "[name], you're amazing. this is incredible. think of what you could do with this skill!"
"i don't know, mattheo. it's just something i can do."
he reached across the table, taking your hand in his before his thumbs went to trace the faint lines on your palms. "well, i think it's extraordinary. and i'm even more in awe of you now."
you met his sparkling eyes, smile growing. "thank you, mattheo. it means a lot to hear you say that."
wandless magic or not, you managed to swept mattheo riddle from his feet once again. and he let it happen.

y/n's perspective
“She’s awake! Get the doctor!” I heard and my vision was doubled while my head was throbbing. Where was I? The last thing I remember was…
“Then why don’t you run?”
Did he actually run? Was he finally free like he wanted? How does a hybrid escape without pretending to be human? Oh yeah… the black market.
If he did... I hope it was successful and not all for nothing.
“y/n? How are you feeling?” I heard and I looked to my side. “Jeno… how’s school been?” I offered him a smile and didn’t have to see his face to know he was concerned for me. “Good, I've been focusing on this internship and well I try my best to not lose sleep,” he said and I smiled. “Haechan should learn from you,” I said and I heard his soft laughter.
“How… are they?” I asked and he sighed. “Let’s get you checked out first. I’ll let Taeyong-hyung explain,” he said and I knew it was probably bad.
“Y/n the doctor is gonna come in and do some tests, you’ll be given pain medication and you currently have stitches so this will scar. We’ll set up future appointments” I heard as I saw Johnny enter the room.
I wonder if they're okay.
seonghwa’s perspective
Last week we were finally let out. That would mean she's dead or alive to have them do action. I don't know what they did to San or Hongjoong yet. But I was in observation to see if I should be considered for a breeding farm.
I heard them talk… I had no chance of adoption. My only option was a hybrid farm where their only purpose is to reproduce. It also gave me little hope that she was alive.
I know she’s scared of me… but she would’ve tried to convince them otherwise. I also did hear that Yeosang and Wooyoung were code greens ready for adoption but Wooyoung has been in the medical wing.
“If I could, those tigers would be shipped off. Hongjoong is excessively violent, he killed her. What am I supposed to tell San? Or Wooyoung? Those hybrids are far too dependent on her. If they knew, San would become a bigger threat to himself and Wooyoung would join him” I heard. She was dead…?
I may have not had a lot of hope but a part of me hoped she was alive. Oh, Hongjoong… we caused a mess.
“Seonghwa, you have a check” I heard as they opened my curtain. I saw the employee now opening the glass door. “I’m sorry,” I said… and he looked at me confused.
“If… if I didn’t help her she’d still be alive. Even then I could’ve stopped–" "Seonghwa none of this is your fault, I'm sorry your future isn’t looking too bright,” he said and I felt the tears run down my face.
“My future was never meant to bright”
yeosang's perspective
She was alive. I knew she had to be… there's no way she'd die.
I was in isolation. My records unfortunately were publicly known when I was in here. The accident at a popular apartment complex where politicians, CEOs, and even idols lived took pictures of what happened. They warned me… she called in asking if I was gonna be put up for adoption. If… she was dead. I would get a horrible punishment for defying her… maybe even move the country?
“Yeosang, are you ready for some air?” I heard one of the employees. I remember him being called… Jaemin? He was a friend of hers. “Any news?” I asked and he sighed.
“Don’t worry, she’ll be fine” he said and I nodded. “Do you believe that?” I asked and it caught him off guard. He was supposed to make me feel better. I know he’s not allowed to say anything…
“Look… she’s the strongest person I know. The last time I saw her, Johnny promised to make sure she was alright and my friend worked with him. She’s in a stable condition”
liar. He was lying…
“You don’t believe me do you?” he asked and I shook my head.
“She’s… not in stable condition. In fact, they're trying their best to monitor her at all times–” “What’s wrong with her?” I asked and he sighed. We started walking outside as he looked to think about what he’d say.
“Hongjoong when he clawed her jaw hit a vein connected to her heart. The week before when Kun was there, she flatlined but I know she’s stable now we just need her to wake up. If not she might be in a coma for longer than we’d hope” he explained and I could only feel hatred for those tigers and myself… I pushed her, and I misinterpreted her feelings. She was scared of them… and even us.
“Is there hope?” I asked and his smile said everything. It was forced and I could see the glassy look in his eyes. “There's always hope”
Liar.
wooyoung’s perspective
“Wooyoung you need to eat, we don’t want to put you up with the purple code hybrids. She’s not gonna be happy when–” “How can she feel anything? She’s not here… she’s dead isn't she?” I cut him off. The doctor sighed and shook his head.
“No, she's not dead,” he said and I didn’t believe him.
“Do it for her… don’t you think she’ll be distraught to see you in a worse state than before? When she saw you she said she was heartbroken. To know that you were a depressed hybrid… that those who promised her to take care of you weren’t–" "She’s not here!” I yelled.
“Let me mourn her… she isn’t coming back,” I said and I was fully convinced. She would’ve been here already, she’s gone. I should’ve been there.
“Wooyoung you need to take care of yourself, your weight is dropping and you’ll start to get sick..” I turned him out. I didn’t feel hungry… not when I used to live a fantasy almost two weeks ago now. I was hopeful at first…
but then she never came back.
san’s perspective
The world… stopped.
My world stopped… code purple. For hybrids who are dangerous to themselves, mainly ones who experience such stress, or depression they harm themselves.
Would it be so bad to be with her again? Constrained and isolated… How was Wooyoung doing? Was he like me?
I missed the feeling of that collar on my neck, the feeling of her warmth, I miss her. Where is she? How long has it been since I've been here?
Surely only a few hours… I wonder when she’ll be here. Maybe in a few hours?
“San, how are you feeling?” I heard and I finally saw someone after they put me here. “I’m… tired,” I said, I was tired, my mind felt like I was spinning and I felt sick.
“Do you remember what I told you last time?” he asked me. “What?” I asked and he sighed. “San, I've been here three times a day for two weeks now,” he said and I was confused. I laughed, “It's only been a few hours…” I said and he shook his head.
“I’ll remind you later, today we thought it would be good to take you outside” he said and I shook my head. “San, do you remember when you arrived here after the fight? You lost any sense of time and thought you lived the same day over and over again. You improved so much afterwards… she would want you to improve and get adopted again” he said and I shook my head.
“I am adopted, she’s my mate” I said and he sighed almost like he was tired.
“San, we’ve been having the same conversation for the past two weeks, almost three times a day”
hongjoong’s perspective
My hands felt dirty… They didn’t let me go to the cells anymore.
I need to get rid of her blood. I didn't mean to kill her. I… where was Seonghwa? Was he okay? Did he get adopted already? Maybe she’s alive and she took them… but not me.
I don’t deserve it… besides living with humans? I hate them… I hate her… but I want to apologize. I hope she’s okay. I want her to be okay. But is she? Why would they send me away if that's the case, they were preparing to send me off.
I was slowly accepting what I was destined for… I was gonna die. Born into a circus, I was always gonna die.
“You’re scheduled to leave in three days” I heard. It was the main doctor… “Dr. Doyoung will take you in to check your wounds,” he said and I was unchained from the ground to be led to the medical wing.
He knocked on the door when it revealed another employee… and Wooyoung? He looked… starved. His eyes looked lifeless and dark circles prominent.
He looked up at me to not even react. They led him away, speaking to him in a cheerful voice as if wanting to cheer him up. “You ruined the lives of four hybrids,” the behaviorist said to me.
“What's wrong with him?” I asked and he scoffed.
“The healthiest right now is probably Seonghwa and Yeosang. Yeosang though is still clinging to her being alive, while Wooyoung has refused to be cooperative with this severe depressive episode, even San has lost all sense of time and is worse. All humans aren't evil, but you let that control you and even ruined your own chance to actually live” he said as I went inside the room to see the doctor.
I… I'm sorry…
y/n’s perspective
“Two weeks?” I asked and they nodded. “Johnny and Jeno tried their best to take care of you… but you were asleep for two weeks and they thought for a minute your body was in shock, especially after your flatline last week.
“I… what?” I was confused with everything. Two weeks I was out… What happened to them? “You’re okay physically, the tests they've done should help and it looks like they helped you gain some strength to walk despite being comatose for two weeks” he explained and I nodded.
“Curious about anything?” Taeyong asked and I wanted to ask but I was scared. “I’m curious. Curious as to why you were suddenly scared of your hybrids. Kun told me that your hybrids said you started to be detached and started avoiding them and it was clarified that you were scared” he said and I nodded.
“When I did the interviews… Hongjoong mentioned that hybrids do anything to survive even if they pretend to like their owners” I said and he laughed at me. “You’ve clearly forgotten how those three looked at you. Wooyoung used to– actually has been obsessed with you for years, Yeosang is the most overprotective hybrid i've ever seen and San? He loves you… he was your first hybrid and he… he’s a code purple right now” he said and i stopped. I felt frozen…
“A… a code purple?” I said hoping I heard wrong and he nodded.
“He’s lost track of time… he thinks it's been hours. His mind is scattered in events, sometimes he’ll think he’s there because he attacked you and become depressed, or he’ll think the attack was minutes before and scream that he’ll kill that tiger. The worst of it is, right now… he’s waiting for you to show up in front of him. He thinks it's been hours and you’ll recover soon, for him it hasn't been two weeks”' he explained and he wiped my cheek.
“He… he’s no, you're messing with me. San… I need to see him!” I declared and he grabbed my elbow. “You shouldn't be so rash. No one knows you’ve recovered… Kun thinks you're as good as dead. He was there when you flatlined and thought there's no hope” he said and everything was overwhelming.
“I need to see him,” I pleaded and he smiled. “And we will, just let me go to the station first. We’ll go later today, I want to take you back home–" "No” I refused and he sighed.
“The blood is clean… Wonyoung had people clean your apartment–" "It won’t feel right with them not there” I argued and he sighed.
“Give me a few hours then, I'll call Yuta and Shotaro, they'll take care of you,” he said and I sighed. “I’m a grown woman I don’t need to be taken care of” I argued and he nodded.
“Okay… but they’ll meet with you to make sure you're okay, '' he said and I nodded. “I can walk–” “I need time alone… I know where they work” I said and he nodded. “Be careful, you just–” “Taeyong please” I pleaded and he nodded as he left.
I couldn't stop the tears flowing down. I was an idiot… I doubted them and I failed Hongjoong… I need to talk to him–
“Why are you crying again?” I heard as I noticed a man in front of me. It was the man that helped me before. “It's been a long day” I answered and he nodded.
“I’m sorry to hear that, but please don’t cry, surely whatever it is it can be fixed?” he said with a cheerful smile. “Have you ever owned a hybrid?” I asked and his eyes widened. “Only one,” he said and I nodded. “How do you know their feelings are genuine and they actually love you?” I asked and he chuckled.
“That's an interesting question… Well, hybrids are known for faking they care but that's a rare few. If you treat them with love and care I can assure you they will be the same” he said and I nod.
“What if they fake it though, even if you love them to the best of your ability?” I asked and he hummed. “Well, a hybrid can fake words, but the things they do have meaning. Where– I mean hybrids are like animals by the end of the day. They have animal habits they follow, like uhm bunnies circle around their owners, fox hybrids are dependent on owners and usually bond to one person for the rest of their life–" "What about canines and panthers?” I asked and he chuckled.
“That's a weird pair?” he laughed and I smiled.
“Well, panther hybrids only really expose themselves to their owners when they fully trust them so sleeping is a big one. Uhm… panthers are actually known to cook or feed their mates as an act of love? –” San often would feed me off his own plate and make me eat more… and he would always say how he preferred sleeping in my room.
He was showing he trusted me…
“– Dog hybrids however, are known to scent their mates and groom them? So dog hybrids will often fix their owners hair or males would often scent their owner to tell others to back off” he explained and suddenly Yeosang made much more sense to me.
“I can tell you're a good hybrid owner… any hybrid would be lucky for someone to care about them like you do” he said and I smiled.
“Thank you…?” I didn't know his name. “Oh? Uhm my name! My name is… Yunho” he said and I smiled. “Thank you, Yunho! My name is y/n” I said and he smiled.
“It was my pleasure, ah! I think you dropped this?”
Yuta and Shotaro were spamming my phone.
I was now in front of the infamous building… The Seoul Hybrid Rehabilitation Center.
I entered and I was immediately greeted by a shocked Haechan. I smiled at the boy who couldn’t even produce a sentence. “YOU'RE OKAY!” he yelled and I laughed as he hugged me tight. “We were convinced you weren’t gonna wake up” he muttered and I ruffled his hair. “Where's Kun?” I asked and he sighed. “Kun cares about you a lot… so does Doyoung but Kun sees you like his little sister–”
“Haechan, what's going on with him?” I asked and he sighed
“He’s planning on sending Wooyoung and San to Jeju’s Rehabilitation Center, as for Yeosang… There's a threat of legal action with his previous owner, Seonghwa is going to be moved to a breeding farm, and Hongjoong is being sent out of Korea '' he explained and I was speechless.
“W-What?” I asked and he nodded. “Kun right now is out but he’ll be back soon–” “Take me to San,” I said and he shook his head. “Only Kun and Doyoung have the key to get in there… and you're not supposed to be allowed without them knowing,” he said and I smiled.
“Please, let me see one of them?” I asked and he nodded. “I can take you to Yeosang,” he said and I nodded. He talks to have someone come get me and lead me to Yeosang.
“y/n?” I heard and saw Renjun. I smiled softly and offered a hug. “I'm so glad you're okay! When did you get discharged” he asked and I sighed. “Maybe two hours ago?” I said and he scoffed. “You should be resting–” “I need to see if they're okay” I cut him off and he nodded.
He leads me around the green code hybrids seeking adoption until we go towards the ones who have not been cleared for adoption.
“He’s missed you a lot,” he said and I smiled. He opened the curtain and I saw he was asleep. “Jaemin has been trying his best to cheer up him and Wooyoung but it's been hard for them,” he said and I nodded. “I’m only doing this cause I know he won’t hurt you and he is still your hybrid,” he said as he opened the kennel and waited for me to enter.
I nod and go in to kneel close to his bed. I pet his ears softly as he whined and opened his eyes slightly. “Hello, sleeping beauty,” I said and his ears flattened on his head.
“Are you real?” he asks as he grabs my hand, tightening it as if I'd disappear. “I’m real, Yeosang,” I said and he sat up looking at me for what felt like a few minutes before he started crying.
“Please, be real! I… I miss you” he said as he hugged me tightly. I rubbed it back as he sobbed. “I’m here, I promise,” I said and he pulled away to look at me. I wanted to cry too… so many times I got into my head that he faked everything to hide away from his owner when I should’ve known better.
His hand cupped my jaw to where my bandages lay. “Does it hurt?” he asked and I smiled. “I’ll heal,” I said and he nodded.
“I’m sorry for making you adopt them–” “It's not your fault… I got in my own head. Hongjoong is rough around the edges–” “You shouldn’t defend him” he said angrily and I smiled.
“Yeosang…. He was wronged. I should’ve voiced my thoughts sooner, but he deserves a second chance. What you suggested was sweet… he’s lived tormented by humans so he deserves to feel loved even if he doesn't know how to accept it” I said and his eyes widened. He nods…
“You’re too good to be real. I still don’t believe you're actually here… maybe you're a true angel visiting me in my dreams'' he said and I chuckled. “I don’t have wings or a halo,” I said and he chuckled.
“Doesn’t mean you aren't an angel to me” he said and I smiled.
“y/n?” I heard and I looked behind me to see Doyoung. “Did Haechan tell you?” I asked and he nodded. “I-I’m, why didn’t they tell us you were awake?!” he asked and I smiled while looking at Yeosang. “Well, I did wake up two hours ago,” I said and Yeosang laughed. “You should be resting,” he said and I smiled.
“I know… Doyoung. Can I see San?” I asked and he sighed. “I don’t have the key… Kun has taken charge of seeing Hongjoong and San, I only see them to check up on them” he said and I nodded.
“And… Wooyoung?” I asked and he sighed almost nervously.
“He’s… he needs to see you”
Yeosang was gonna be checked one last time by Doyoung while he led me in front of Wooyoung’s kennel. “Be careful with him… he’s been worse than I've ever seen him” he said and Yeosang didn’t want to let go of my hand.
“I’ll be here when you're out, I promise,” I said and he didn’t look convinced. “When have I ever lied to you? Or broken a promise?” I asked and he nodded.
They leave me alone with Wooyoung’s key. I knock before opening the door… It's to tell the hybrid I'm going in. I open it and see that he’s already staring at the door. His eyes widened.
“y/n?” he said and I noticed how hoarse his voice was. How skinny he was… how tired he looked. “Hello, Woo,” I said, trying my best to offer a happy smile as I felt my vision blur. “You're… alive?” he said, confused and not moving.
“Missed me?” I said and I sat down on the floor to sit at eye level with him. “I…” he was speechless. I smiled as I hugged him… his tears and sobs broke my heart. The way he tightened his grip on my body and let out cries was the only thing I could focus on.
He struggled with words as he sobbed.
“I... I lost- any hope that you were alive!” he let out and I felt a serious ache in my heart. “I’m sorry,” I said and he shook his head as he let go and ghosted his hand on my jaw. “It's not your fault,” he said and I knew what he suggested.
“It's not his fault either… I should’ve talked about what I was feeling "I said and he said nothing but hugged me. We sat there on the floor with him hugging me in silence.
“Wooyoung '' I heard as I saw Yeosang in his regular clothes and his collar. “Yeosang?” he said as he lifted his head without letting me go to see his friend. “The doctor wants to see you so he can discharge you,” he said and he tightened his grip on me.
“I’ll still be here… you get to be in comfortable clothes and your collar again,” I said and he nodded letting go but did move to leave.
“She’ll still be here,” Yeosang said and Wooyoung nodded. “Can… Can we get food from that street food market?” he asked and I smiled. “Anything you want,” I said and he nodded. He leaves but not without looking at me one last time and giving me a slight smile.
Progress…
“Are you gonna take in those tigers again?” Yeosang asked and I sighed. “I hate how I… I want to give them a second chance. A better chance without me being scared of them… I took them in because they wanted a better life and I didn’t even try like I did with you, Wooyoung, and San” I explain and nod.
“I don’t trust them” he said and I smiled. “And you have every right to,” I said.
“y/n?” I heard and I saw Jaemin who looked at me with the biggest smile. “How are you doing?” I said and he chuckled. “You see Yeosang, she’s okay,” he said and Yeosang nodded. “Jaemin? Can you take me to Seonghwa?” I asked and he sighed. “The tigers are gonna be transferred–” “Kun can’t do that, I'm still their owner,” I said and he chuckled.
“You're the same as ever. Let me take you there then, I'd rather not be sued and in debt even more than I am” he said and I chuckled.
“Yeosang, stay here for Wooyoung,” I said and he shook his head getting ready to argue– “He needs someone here, and I’ll be back,” I said and he nodded reluctantly.
I followed Jaemin when I noticed he was also a code green hybrid. “Seonghwa, you have a visitor,” Jaemin said as he opened the curtain first.
He looked at me shocked.
“You're… I’m sorry! I should’ve stopped Hongjoong, please I-I’m so–” “Seonghwa it isn't your fault '' I said while giving him a smile and he looked at me with wide eyes.
“I’m sorry for not offering you what I did to my hybrids' ' I said and he looked confused. “You deserve a second chance… so does Hongjoong. Let me make it up to you” I said and he shook his head.
“I… I should be asking that of you!” he said desperately and I smiled.
“Let's make it up to each other then!” I said and he was frozen… “I… why do you still want me?” he asked and I shrugged. “You’re a sweet hybrid… a farm doesn’t suit you at all,” I said and I could see tears forming in his eyes.
“I… I really am sorry I wasn't–” “It's not your fault, you… were the sweetest. You tried so hard to earn a place with me and I know you deserve it. So I'm sorry for letting Hongjoong’s words get into my head, I really do think you deserve better Seonghwa '' I said and he was silent.
“Do you accept me?” I asked and he smiled softly.
“If you’ll take me”

enchanted - l.williamson
short lil fic
pairing: leah williamson x reader
summary: after obssesing over tiktok, you take the jump to buy the perfume that’s supposed to make your partner obsess over you, so of course you had to try it
warnings: fluff, possessive leah
“sorry, baby” leah mumbled into my neck as i grunted, shifting my body weight in bed as she moved her arm out from underneath me.
“what are ya doing up?”i grumbled, voice still groggy as i rubbed my eyes and she leaned over my body, kissing my forehead .
“shh, go back to sleep, i’m going to walk nellie”she cooed, laying my body back down against my pillow, giving me one final kiss on my lips before getting out of bed.
“come on, nells!”she called out to the dog, who ran after as she headed down stairs, dog collar in hand before exiting the house.
with the front door slamming shut from leah’s exit, my eyes fell heavy as i fell back asleep.
✰
once you had started seeing about this venom perfume all over your for your page on tiktok, talking about how it was supposed to make your partner drawn to you, you were hooked. you went straight to your basket and bought the perfume, excited to get leah’s reaction.
you were sat in your car, waiting for leah to get back. today, you had planned to go out so that you could finally spend some time together, alone on your days off. you had finished getting ready, grabbing your sunnies, placing them on top of your head from the bright day in london, and slipping into leah’s car after you finished applying your lip gloss.
you checked you watch, you knew you had enough time before leah got back, having known she had not long left and would be at least half an hour.
you pulled your phone out of your jacket pocket, setting up on the holder for it on the dash board, making sure it was at the right angle before pressing record.
you didn’t do many speaking videos on tiktok, since you had been obsessed with the app mary had convinced you to join the tiktok squad with her at one of the england camps, fans loving seeing some of your content that you posted every now and then even more so if you got leah involved. if you were going to try this on leah, you might as well video it for your fans to see.
“hey guys! i just got this new venom perfume,” you said into the camera as you started to roll the perfume on your wrists. “apparently it’s going to make leah drawn to me, makes me irresistible.”
i rolled the perfume on my neck a few times, dabbing it on all places i know that leah was going to touch me .
once you had finished applying the perfume all over, you waited in the car patiently for leah to come back from walking the dog, ready to see if it would actually work.
your leg shaked nervously as you watched leah approach the car, getting in the drivers seat besides you. “hey,” i greeted her, smiling as she kissed me softly. “hey baby.”
“what’s that smell?”she pondered with a confused look on her face as she put her seatbelt on.
“what smell?”i questioned, giggling slightly to myself, i always was a bad liar.
“something smells really nice”she stated as she continued to sniff the air while i tried to keep a straight face. key word, tried.
“my new perfume maybe?”i shrugged, as she leaned closer sniffing my jumper, leaning her head against my shoulder.
“hmm, you smell so good baby”she audibly moaned as she leaned back into her seat, forcing herself to pull away.
“you like it?”you smiled at her, seeing how she bit her bottom lip, nodding and taking your jumper into her hands, pulling us closer again.
“come here”she said as you yelped, she grabbed your arm bringing you closer as she pulled you into a kiss, smiling in between as she kept saying kiss me.
“god your irresistible”she mumbled as she nibbled on the side of your neck making you arch your back in pleasure with a moan as her veiny, large hands traveled down to your hip bone .
we didn’t even make it off the drive .

What's in a Name? (+)
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x reader Summary: The one time that you don't walk away. Warnings: mentions of substance abuse, vvs suggestive Words: 1.2K
Masterlist
a/n: if ur js finding this fic, this is the bonus! the fives times r does walk away are here. this happens right after no.5, btw.
6. A lie is the truth
Arlington, Virginia, 2008
You couldn't sleep.
All you could think of was the fact that you were in Aaron's bed and he was right outside the door. The thunder continued to boom but your thoughts were louder than the storm outside; they consumed you.
It was irrational. You'd known him for nearly five years, and in that time, you'd only seen him an equivalent of five times, yet he was still on your mind. He'd been on your mind non-stop since New York—and that was crazy.
You felt crazy.
You felt crazy because he was right. You felt something.
It all started off as a game. You just wanted to get under his skin, play with fire a bit, but you got burned. You couldn't handle the heat; you couldn't handle the way the game stopped being a game. It became something else.
Hotch's role was to get irritated, maybe a bit flustered, but he was never supposed to flirt back. He was never supposed to want to know you— you couldn't even remember the last time anyone wanted to do that.
Lovers came and went over the years, but none had ever felt like this. It was always physical, but you and Aaron hadn't even kissed. Without any of that, he still had you in his grip.
You couldn't remember the last time you'd been with anybody. You don't know if you'd been holding off on purpose, if it was conscious. You'd been holding out for a guy you couldn't even be with, and now that you had the chance, you were the one holding back.
God, if he knew you before. If you'd met before, things would've been so different. Maybe he could've saved you from yourself.
But he didn't. When you were drowning, you pulled yourself out of the water. That old version of you died, and Y/N was born. Y/N was the one who saved you. When you had no one else, Y/N was there. She was your shoulder to cry on until she taught you not to cry anymore, to focus.
But now what did you have? An apartment you barely lived in and nobody that really knew you. But there was a man out there, a good man, who said he wanted to.
You didn't know what you'd show him—you weren't even sure if you really knew you.
But maybe... maybe you could find out together.
You'd never know if you didn't try.
With that thought, you threw the covers back and beelined for the door. When you opened it, you were surprised to find Aaron already behind the threshold, fist raised to knock. In an instant, he dropped it.
"Y/N—"
You cut him off. "Wait, just— just let me get this out." He looked confused. "If I don't get it out, I don't think I ever will."
There was a beat of silence, but then he spoke. "Okay."
His eyes were kind and patient as you tried to gather the words, everything you wanted to say vanishing from your fingertips. So you went with the first thing that popped into your mind. "My name is Lorelai." Surprise shone on his face, but you paid it little mind, racing to say everything before you lost the courage. "But people used to call me Lai. It was a play on words, because I was a liar. I lied about a lot of things. I got involved with the wrong kinds of people, got my hands on the wrong types of things, I was—" you swallowed. "I was an addict. And my life was gonna go down the drain, but things changed. Then I got on the government radar, and suddenly I wasn't Lai anymore, but I was still a liar; the difference was just that I was a better liar. More powerful. Now I'm Y/N. And that name changed everything for me. That is what is in a name. Everything."
By the time you finished, you were breathing heavy. You averted your eyes as a chuckle left you. "So, tell me, Aaron, do you still want to know me?"
You were expecting him to leave, to end it there and tell you he'd drive you home tomorrow, but instead, you felt sudden warmth on your cheeks as his hands wiped away tears you didn't know were there. "Look at me." When you didn't respond, he tried again, "Y/N. Look at me."
You looked up, expecting to see judgement and hatred, anger, but you saw none of that. You saw openness and understanding, and other emotions you couldn't pinpoint. You realized you couldn't decipher it because no one had ever looked at you this way.
His voice was soft and firm all at the same time. "Y/N, I don't care what your name is. I don't care if a lie is the truth— I care about you." He paused as if he wanted his words to soak in, but not once did he look away. "I want to know you, whether that be about Lorelai or Y/N doesn't matter. This woman in front of me right now, she is who I want to know."
Your heart beat rapidly against your ribcage as he leaned in closer. Déjà vu from your moment in the kitchen hit you hard, your eyes going back to his lips, the same lips that just uttered that he didn't care, the same lips that just washed away your fears.
He closed his eyes and then pleaded, "Let me know you, Y/N."
That shattered any last semblance of doubt you had left, and you barely had time to think about it before you were slamming your lips into his.
He reciprocated immediately, kissing you with the fervour of a man who'd been suffocated and you were his air. A sensation you couldn't name erupted all over your body, from your head to your toes, and you wondered how you had lived so long without ever feeling this. Of all the kisses you'd ever had, none could compare to this one.
But this didn't just feel like a kiss. It felt like a promise.
Your lips moved in sync together, just like when you'd been dancing that night in Washington. It was like your body knew all the steps to this dance without ever having learned it.
So now you wondered, if this was supposed to be wrong, why did it feel more right than anything you'd ever done?
Eventually, you had to pull away. His eyes were still closed. You grinned. "How about you get to know me tomorrow night at dinner?"
That caused his eyes to open, a full-fledged smile making its way onto his face, and you knew then and there that you'd do anything to make him smile like that all the time. "8 o'clock?"
You nodded and agreed, "It's a date."
His smile got wider, and then he ducked his head into the crook of your neck where it fit perfectly. You wrapped your arms around his neck, recalling how he tensed the last time you did so. Now he had a different reaction, pressing his lips against your neck and littering kisses everywhere.
Tomorrow, you had a date at 8'oclock. But as Aaron kicked the door closed, you wondered if you'd make it out of bed to get there.
You supposed you could miss one date.
You had a feeling there would be many more to make up for it.

sorry if it’s a little complicated, but maybe Megatron meeting Y/N again after so long, since having known them as D-16?
One Last Choice
A/N, not important: I don't think I got his personality right my b. If y'all have any tips or could point me towards some, I'd be forever thankful. Any criticism is welcome, constructive or not. This is supposed to be a gender neutral reader, so if I screwed up somewhere, please tell me.

CW: Major Character Death(Reader)
Words: 1750
Summary: A final meeting with an old friend.
You’ve been captured. At least, you think you have. Unfriendly servos were wrapped around your shoulders and hauling you across the floor with a fury you hadn’t seen in years. Although, that’s about the most you could gather from the situation. Your systems were completely out of whack. Up was down and down was up. Nothing made sense anymore. You could feel your arms bound behind your back, restricting your movement and disorienting you further.
The only thing you could be sure of now was the pain. It radiated through your frame like the energon flowing in your lines. Your HUD was flooded with warnings, the never-ending assault of painful information suffocating you and swallowing you whole. You could barely hear, could barely see. Everything was coated in a thick static that had taken over your world. Muffled voices sounded above you as you were dragged to whatever pit you would be left to go offline.
You try to count the steps for a moment, willing your aching processor to sputter back to life and erase the static from your every thought. It consumed you, drove out your very will and forced you to accept defeat. What were you even fighting for at this point? Your friends? Freedom?
The war had been going on for so long at this point, you weren’t sure you remembered. Optimus Prime—though you’ve never gotten used to calling him that—had tried so hard to keep everyone’s spirit alive. To keep the hope of winning strong.
You weren’t sure you’d say he’d failed, but you definitely weren’t hopeful now. No one was, not if they weren’t insane or a liar.
The impact of your face onto the ground surprised you more than you wanted to or were willing to admit. Pain floods your systems again, your vision going completely black for an awful moment. You hated to consider the option something as stupid as being dropped took you offline. You weren’t weak. You’ve proved it in the mines, on the battlefield, yet this little extra shove seemed to blow your circuits more than you liked.
The voices sound above you, muffled arguing hinting at the nature of your predicament. You grimace, letting your face fall fully against the ground. They were probably debating which one of them got to end you.
When rough hands grab at your helm, you try to fight back. Every movement felt like it’d kill you, sparks from your own fried circuitry burned your face. Then, with a painful tug at something lodged in your helm, the static lifted. You take a harsh vent as your mind clears. You felt alive again, no longer stuck in the hell that was your own mind.
You dare to lift your helm, hoping to face your captors and get in some insults before they blow your processor over the wall. Instead of the grunts you were expecting, you face the dark pedes of the mech that started it all.
“Leave us,” he orders, causing whatever soldiers who grabbed you to quickly flee the room. You wait a second, still stuck on your front with your neck painfully bent to be able to face his pedes. It would be humiliating if you were able to think properly.
The silence stretches between you until it becomes so heavy you feel you can’t properly vent. The fans under your plating sputter and pop with each second you’re stuck on your stomach, the weight of your own frame causing you to slowly overheat. Megatron lets the silence permeate the room for a few more moments before he takes another step towards you.
Your designation rolls off his tongue so much easier than you expected it to. There was no bite to his words, no underlying bitterness or anger. You shift on the ground where you’re left, ignoring the sparks shooting from your injured shoulder plate. You stare at the monster before you, the mech you once proudly called a friend.
His plating looked just as weary as your own, his optics dimmed and lacking anything but hatred and contempt. There was pain in his stance, a pain you felt deeply mirrored within your own frame. It was hard to see him like this, to see him as the one who killed Orion and caused him to become the Primus-chosen leader instead. You search his facial plating for any sign of the friend you once knew, the hot-tempered but easy-going miner who just wanted to get through the day with his friends.
It hurts to admit you can’t find him.
“Well,” he prompts, taking a small step towards you. The dark red of his optics burn starkly against his chrome plating, the room’s poor lighting not helping the menacing look. “Aren’t you going to say anything?”
“I’m stuck,” you gripe, letting your forehelm touch the floor once more. You weren’t really stuck. Not truly. You weren’t being held down, and if you could gather the will power, you’d definitely be able to face him on your knees. The problem with that, however, is that you have no desire to make the effort. Whether you stood, knelt, or laid in front of him, the outcome would be the same. There was no part of you that expected to make it out of here with your helm attached to your shoulders.
“Really now,” Megatron chides, his pedes thudding against the ground as he circles you like a helpless animal. Every step makes your helm ache, the vibrations shaking your entire frame. “I always thought you were stronger than that. I’ve heard stories of your retaliation against my troops while you fight against our freedom.”
Megatron stops somewhere to the left of you, the tension growing thicker. You bristle slightly, sighing. His engine revs in anger as he regards you, examining your broken frame tossed upon his floor. “You betrayed me. You’ve betrayed Cybertron. You stood against me and chose to maintain Sentinel’s Primacy-”
“Sentinel’s dead,” you cut him off, irritated at his growing anger. “You fixed that problem. Let it go.”
“Let it go?!” He roars, grabbing the back of your frame and heaving you up. You grimace at the new pains shooting through your spinal struts, trying desperately to find leverage on the ground. “We toiled away in the mines our entire function because of him! He desecrated our bodies before we were even online! And yet you still turn to his beliefs and follow in the Primacy’s footsteps!”
Megatron stares into your face with white-hot fury, his teeth grinding against each other as he waits for you to respond. You can’t respond for a while, unsure what to say or what to do. You hesitate for too long, Megatron’s scowl growing as he throws you back onto the ground. You wheeze at the impact, optics flickering as you try to recalibrate your senses.
“You’re right,” you manage out, coughing up energon and spitting it out onto the floor. You grimace at the rancid taste, trying to clean your tongue on the roof of your mouth. He was right, in the important ways. Sentinel needed to be rid of. Sentinel’s rules needed to be changed. But that had happened, before the war between Megatron and Optimus really started. Megatron got rid of Sentinel, and Optimus got rid of his system. The only problem now was the hatred that had sprouted in the very sparks of the cybertronians.
“Excuse me?” Megatron laughs, walking closer to your limp frame. “Did my audials get miswired? Is the great major of the Autobot army agreeing with me?”
He kicks your arm, trying to get you to meet his optics. You stubbornly refuse, keeping them trained on the ceiling. “I’d never expected to see the day.”
You scoff at his words, leaning your helm back against the cool metal of the floor. “More ‘bots do than you’d expect. Your problem is how you went about it.”
“Right. Because getting the job done is such an issue.”
Megatron fumes above you, pacing next to your side again. You ignore him for the most part, beating down old feelings of warmth and safety he used to bring. He was a different bot now, and so were you. Nothing between you was there, made obvious by his clear disregard for you. You were a means to an end now, nothing but a tool to be used to further hurt Optimus and his fight for the wrong freedom.
“You know what I don’t understand?” Megatron starts again, scowling down at your hapless form. You don’t bother to respond before he starts again, his anger rising and voice growing heavier. He continues to pace, stomping around your head like it would fix all of his problems. “You say you agree with me on the fundamentals, yet you still side with the Prime. You side with the system that ground us down until we were broken and then still demanded more. Sentinel was a traitor and a liar who betrayed our kind. And you still follow his lead.”
“I follow Optimus’s lead, actually.”
The glare that comment earned you could have burnt straight through your frame, his face scrunched up and filled with more hostility than a single bot should be able to possess. His eyes glowed brighter in the dark, his face now leering over your own.
“Do not say that traitor’s name in front of me. He is the same as Sentinel. They’re all the same. True freedom won’t be accomplished until they and every single bot that dares share their ideals are dead.”
The sound of his cannon extending surprises you at first, the warm glow of death casting over your frame. You couldn’t find yourself to be scared as you stare down the barrel of the cannon. It was there, somewhere, but not enough to make you tremble nor react in any significant way. You knew this would happen eventually. Whether now or later down the line, you’d die in this petty war.
“Any last words, Autobot?” He snarls. You stare at him for a second before letting your helm fall back, refusing to show fear.
“Good-bye, D-16.”
He doesn’t wait long after you speak before you can feel the blast burning through your chest, consuming your spark and your entire being with it. The aching pain from your frame halts, letting you be surrounded in a cold unfeeling. Your optics sputter for a moment more before shutting, letting you fall into the arms of Cybertron itself.

Parkers, Pots & Periods
Summary: Reader is Peter’s sister and is going on a field trip to stark industries, the catch? She’s on her period and has POTS… things go badly and Wanda and Nat step in to take care of you.
Words: 2324
TW: Periods, Pain, nausea (no puking), POTS, Cramps, Bullying, fainting, name calling, Flash (that’s its own warning), Flashes “nicknames” for peter, field trip trope.
A/n Hi guys I’m alive! Sorry for disappearing (kinda). My life is chaos incarnate. I accidently got stabbed in the thigh yesterday. But I stuck an avengers Band-Aid on it and I was fine :D
Somehow the universe decided to screw your over three times today. The first, you had POTS, whilst not a new condition it did make the next two things worse. Second you had a trip to stark towers which meant a lot of standing on a tour and being around your class and knowing the avengers would be lurking nearby. And third, the real icing on the cake … you were on your period as if you had blood to lose as someone with POTS and a low blood volume to start with.
So that was how you were doing today as you arrived at school. Sure, you had graduated about three years ago but there had been talks that someone had found out Peter’s identity and was planning something, which was how you ended up undercover to be a glorified bodyguard for peter… well a glorified babysitter with homework. You had been chosen by the team as you were the second youngest next to Peter and as a lesser-known member of the team who was young, you could pass as a high school student without raising suspicions. ‘Yay me.’ You thought sarcastically. Leaving high school was amazing and having to go back to babysit your little brother… not so much.
You skipped training this morning as you were already feeling quite awful due to your period and your POTS which was always made worse when it was shark week.
As you arrived at school with Peter, happy dropped you both at the block around the corner and you shouldered your old school backpack and sighed.
“Let’s get this over with.” You grumbled and peter nodded. Neither of you feeling particularly excited to go on a trip through your own house with classmates who hated you.
Peter was just as unhappy; flash had been giving him shit all week for his internship and wanted desperately to prove the Parker boy a liar today. When you had found out about the bullying you almost intervened before Peter had a talk with you. He reminded you of what uncle ben had said to you both before he died, and your eyes glossed over as you made the decision to respect his wishes and promise to your late uncle.
As your shoes slapped the pavement with exaggerated steps and dragging movements, a grin itched your face when Ned began waving to you from across the quad. MJ looked up and gave a single half handed wave cross salute before going back to her sketchbook, her legs kicked up on the picnic table.
You liked MJ and Ned. They had welcomed you to their group and they knew that you had already graduated but agreed to stay quiet if it meant keeping peter safe. They both knew you and your brothers’ real identities. As the second spider that protected the city aside from your brother and Natasha you had decided to keep your identity quiet until Peter graduated, knowing he would have just as many issues with the press if you were unmasked before he graduated compared to him being unmasked.
You threw your backpack down and threw your head into your arms, letting out an exaggerated groan.
“You feelin’ alright bonehead?” MJ said looking up from her sketch.
You simply grunted before turning your head, still resting on your arms to look at her through a furrowed brow.
“Shark week.” Was all you said, and MJ nodded before turning to her bag and digging around before fishing out a chocolate bar she threw at your head. Your spider sense kicked in and your hand flew up and caught it.
“Thanks MJ.” You grunted.
“Anytime Parker.” She said going back to her sketchbook. You leaned over to glance at the page and snorted. MJ simply suppressed a grin and kept working on the detailed drawing of Flash trapped in a display case at stark towers with a placard that read “Bullied Peter Stark, glass tapping encouraged.” With a drawing of Tony leaning on the display case eating a banana with Nat handing out tomatoes to the rest of the team to throw at flash. Leave it to MJ to make this trip better.
You thought maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. But curse your Parker luck because that was the moment flash began to storm over. MJ quickly shut her sketchbook as flash stood over Peter.
“Well, well, well. If it isn’t penis Parker. I wasn’t expecting you to show up today. With your big lie going public today I thought you would be too much of a wuss to show up. Prepare to be publicly humiliated Parker. Today is the day your life is torn to shreds.” He said.
“Like the lie about you having a brain flash ‘cuz I think everyone knows that’s fake.” MJ said flicking a few pencil shavings at him. She glared at him, and he glared back before huffing.
“Whatever idiots. I’ll see you on the bus. Parker don’t forget I would hate for you to miss your public execution.” He spat and headed off to wherever it was Flash lurked between tormenting Peter.
“Petey…” you began.
“No y/n I’m handling it.” He said shutting you down.
“Alright. Alright. I’ll leave it alone.” You said while silently wishing a piano to miraculously fall on flash. You desperately wanted to help but you also wanted to respect Peter’s decision especially as you knew his reason was fuelled by a very personal experience that had changed both of you tremendously.
As the last class before the field trip ended you felt like death warmed over. Your head hurt and your period was only making your POTS worse. As you stood from your chair, you had to hold onto the table as your vision went fuzzy for a second. When your sight cleared Peter shot you a pointed look which you shrugged off and headed for the bus.
If there was one thing you didn’t miss from high school it was field trips, twenty sweaty teenagers in a bus for who knows how long, most likely with no air conditioning which would only contribute to you feeling worse. None of that was appealing to you in the slightest.
As you all filed onto the bus you groaned when you sat down, putting your head in your hands, and taking deep breaths. The cramps had been getting worse all day and they were toeing the line of unbearable.
MJ sat next to you and kept a close eye on your movements or lack thereof.
As the bus lurched with the traffic you suppressed any of the wounded animal noises that were trying to escape you.
After what seemed like a torturously long bus trip you felt the bus slow to a stop. Looking outside the logo of stark towers was the first thing your eyes fixed on.
As everyone filed off the bus you swayed slightly trying to fight off the dizzy lightheaded mess along with the cramping. Life really wasn’t being kind to you.
With a hand resting around your stomach, you watched Peter sidestep flashes foot and walk inside.
The building was cool when you entered which made you feel a tiny bit better but still largely awful.
As the tour guide passed out the lanyards you and Peter hung around in the back.
“I bet puny Parker won’t even have a lanyard, he’s too poor to be let in.” Flash said nearby and your fist tightened at your side in an attempt to stay there.
When all the passes were handed out Flash was the first to point out you and Peter didn’t have one.
“Hey! The Parker’s are missing their badges. We’ll have to leave them behind. Sorry no poor people allowed.” He said with a big grin and Peter looked like a deer in headlights as everyone turned to face the two of you. You just shrugged.
“Friday?” The tour guide asked. “Has there been a mistake?”
“Ms Parker and Mister Parker do not require badges as they have tier 10 clearance, access is granted to all floors, labs and rooms.” A voice said from the ceiling startling a few people.
“That’s Friday.” The tour guide explained “she’s tony starks AI and she runs the tower.”
“I don’t know how you hacked the system, but you will pay Parker’s.” Flash said sticking a finger in Peter’s face.
“Whatever flash, you’re just mad that you have level 1 clearance and can’t go in the toilets without permission.” MJ said as flash stormed off after the group.
As the tour progressed you were feeling worse and worse, all this walking was making the cramps worse, and all the standing was aggregating your POTS. Your vision had been spotty for a while now and your legs hurt. Your midsection was cramping something awful, and you saw no end in sight.
As the group was shown to the museum floor you did your best to stay rooted to your body as your head felt like it was floating away.
“Y/n/n you should really go home. If you sneak off upstairs, I’ll cover for you.” Peter said and MJ nodded.
“I know your white girl, but you’re not meant to be that white… ever.” MJ said and you shot her a small glare with did nothing to deter her.
“Can’t I have to stay with Peter.” You said swallowing down the nausea you had begun to feel.
“I can look out for myself.” He said in a soft tone. But you shook your head which was a terrible idea as you swayed, having to lean on the wall the stay upright.
“Right, that’s enough….” Peter begun but your hearing was fading as Peter seemed to keep talking.
As your hearing and vision began to drift away Peter began softly alerting Friday to the situation, as he requested Wanda of Natasha to come and get you.
As he saw a flash of red hair down the hall, his spider sense flared, and he was just in time to catch you as your body finally gave up and went slack.
Natasha seemed to arrive almost at the same time you passed out into Peter’s arms.
The group had moved on and it seemed they were none to wiser to the avenger’s presence.
Peter looked panicked for a second as he held you up.
“I’ve got her Pete.” Natasha said as she picked you up effortlessly into a bridal carry. “Go catch up with your group Wanda and I will look after her. Don’t worry.”
“Alright. Text me updates.” He said and Natasha nodded dutifully before carrying you to the elevator.
When she arrived back on your floor that you shared with the two redheads, you shifted in her arms, letting out a small whimper.
Natasha walked over to the door to her room, opening it to see Wanda already having everything set up for a movie day.
“Oh my god is she ok? I know Peter said it was bad but … is she out?” Wanda said coming over and fussing.
“She passed out as I got there. She must be feeling terrible.” Nat said as she set you down on the bed gently. Wanda came and sat next to you as Nat changed into some comfy clothes and took to your other side.
Wanda’s hands carding through your hair was the first thing you registered when you came to.
“Nat, I think she’s coming around.” Wanda said softly.
You let out a small, wounded noise as you tucked your knees to your chest in an attempt to stave off the relentless cramps.
“Shhh y/n/n it’s ok. Natty and I have you baby. You’re alright.” Wanda said softly.
You whimpered again and shifted to clutch your midsection.
“Cramps?” Wanda asked knowingly still playing with your hair.
“Mmm.” You said softly.
Before you knew it a hot pack was being slid onto your stomach and your muscles went lax as Wanda pulled you into her lap.
You opened an eye and saw her smiling down at you.
Hello sweet girl. How are you feeling.” She said gently.
“Bad.” You hummed.
“Chocolate?” Natasha said as she offered you an already unwrapped chocolate bar. Not bothering to use your hands you began eating it while Nat still held it. Making her smile softly in amusement as she fed you the chocolate.
“Oh my god, I left Peter!” You said scrambling to sit up but Wanda kept you pinned.
“It’s alright baby. Fridays watching him and you’re in no condition to be doing anything other than cuddling and watching movies with us. Ok?” Wanda said. She could see the gears turning behind your eyes and gently turned your chin to look at her.
“Okay sweet girl?” She said again.
“Okay.” You said softly.
“Excellent. Now you pick the first movie.” Wanda said as Natasha returned with popcorn despite you not having seen her leave.
As the day went on you began to feel better. Between the salty popcorn Wanda was feeding you and the blue electrolyte drinks that were stocked in Natasha’s mini fridge you began to feel less terrible.
The girls had everything you needed, from a warm heat pack to chocolate to cuddles. You eventually drifted off feeling warm and only slightly in pain. Knowing you were safe with them.

June 2025 — Los Angeles, California
“Can you open the door?”
“In a second, K! Be patient!”
“We need to talk, open this door!” Kaylee yells, her fist pounding against the door.
I groan, tugging on some sweatpants and a shirt over my recently moisturized body. I had just gotten back from my pilates class, fresh out of a shower when she called and told me she’d be visiting.
I throw open the door, stumbling over my pant leg. “What?”
“We need to talk about your birthday show.”
The show is something we’ve been planning all year, music is what I love and I wanted to spend my birthday doing what I loved. But still, this show has been finalized for weeks, so I huff at Kaylee irritatedly. She dragged me out of the shower and banged on my door to talk about this?
“What about it, K?”
“So Summer backed out.” She starts, walking into my condo and dropping her bag on the table. She stands in my kitchen, pulling her work phone out of her pocket and setting the other on the counter. “Something came up, but I got KWN to take her spot.”
“That all could’ve been a text message. Or a phone call.” I laugh, pulling my hair over my shoulder so it would stop dripping down my back. “Why are you here?”
“What, you don’t want me here? Julian around or something?”
My eyes can’t help but roll at the mention. Not because of him, but because of the serious beef between the two.
“No he’s at a conference in Philly— are you guys ever gonna figure out your problems, by the way?” I question with a giggle. I turn around, my back facing Kaylee as I walk into my living room allowing her to make herself at home.
It’s quiet for a moment, no words spoken between me or herself even though I’m waiting for a response. When I look up from my spot on the couch her eyes are small, squinting at me. Kaylee is chewing on her bottom lip as she approaches me, gears turning in her head.
“You know, I’ve been meaning to ask you about the cameras last night.” She says. “You sure you didn’t mess with it?”
I try to avoid looking at her. I’m a good liar, but Kaylee has known me since I was 18, I can’t lie to her anymore. She’s suspicious, and though I don’t know of what it’s still incredibly nerve wracking.
“Yeah. Not at all.” Which technically isn’t a lie, I never touched that button, Paige did.
Kaylee nods, her head tilting back and forth like she’s weighing odds in her head. “And what’s his name is in Philly, yes?”
“Yes. Kaylee, what’s up with all the—”
The way she slouches on the couch next to me is exaggerated, a small thump when she cuts me off. “So then who gave you that hickey, Raye? Or all of them.”
In all honesty, I could’ve kept the lie going. I should’ve kept it going. I could act clueless, or tell her it was a bug bite, or that Julian left it a while ago. So many things I could’ve said but I chose to sit there quietly. The words piling on my tongue and dying there.
“Raye, I’m not gonna be mad. Just let me know now, so I can handle it if I need to.” She reassures me.
“No, no, you’re definitely gonna be mad.”
“Was it Paige?” I open my mouth to speak before kissing my teeth. When I make eye contact with her, she’s covering her mouth incredulously. “Raye, no.” She whines.
“I’m sorry!” I start apologizing, but in my heart I know I don’t regret anything.
“You’re gay?”
“I don’t think that’s the most important topic at hand.”
“Right, sorry.” She laughs, covering her mouth and brushing it off.
Even though I can feel her eyes burning holes in the side of my neck, I should feel embarrassed but all I can think about in my head is the manner in which the blonde left those marks on my neck.
I keep replaying that moment when I got home. Heavily buzzed and exhausted, standing in front of the mirror with my hand running across the tender skin. And the moment immediately following when Paige filled my phone with more teasing texts messages.
I remember even before then, when she was laying me down and feeling me up. Being so fucking vulgar in my ears as she told me what she wanted to do to me. So forward and nasty towards me.
The marks on my neck were a bright red last night that transformed into a deep purple when I woke up this morning. It was obvious that Paige was awfully proud of her work and how flustered she got me. After Kaylee walked in and we sat there on the couch, that smirk never seemed to leave her face.
“Those pictures. Were you guys—”
“No, we weren’t doing anything then. I promise.” I reassured. Kaylee isn’t even angry when she looks at me, but her eyes are disappointed; I’ve known her long enough to know that look. “I dunno, she just makes me feel different.”
I don’t know why I feel the need to explain myself. Kaylee simply wouldn’t understand why I chose to cheat on my pretty decent human being of a boyfriend, for a girl I’ve known for a month and a half. There really isn’t an explanation or excuse to be given. I made a mistake. A really bad one, but even then it doesn’t feel like it.
Paige doesn’t feel like a mistake, I couldn’t ever classify her as one.
The woman next to me straightens up, her elbows resting on her knees. She puts her head in her hands, thinking of what to say to me. “Different? You have feelings for her? Or are you guys just hooking up?”
“We haven’t slept together, K.”
She raises her head gingerly. “Wait so...” Kaylee begins. Her body turns to face me, suddenly I’m even more aware of the bruises on my neck. “You’re telling me, you and her have been kissing and hanging out or whatever. Telling me that you’re just friends, when you’re not. But you haven’t slept with her and might have feelings for her?”
“It’s complicated, Kaylee. I—”
“It’s messy, Raye, that’s what it is!” She runs her fingers through her short brunette hair. “You can’t be putting yourself in scandals like this. What if Julian finds out and runs to the blogs? Or if Paige outs your little affair to someone.”
I don’t hesitate to defend Paige with my first breath. “She wouldn’t do something like that.”
“You don’t know that! Y’think she can’t be pillow talking someone else right now?”
I haven’t even thought about the possibility of Paige doing all this with someone else. She isn’t like that, right? Rumors supporting that idea exist, sure, but that isn’t who she is.
“You’re still with Julian while messing with her. You think she isn’t messing with someone else either?” Kaylee practically digs the knife in deeper. “You’re thinking with your heart, not your head, Raye you know better than that.”
I do know better. I’ve always put my career first, but all it took was some icy blue eyes and blond hair to make me lose all my common sense.
I tear my eyes away from her, staring down at my hands. It feels like the weight of the world was sitting on my chest. “Fucking hell.” I mumble under my breath.
“You need to make a choice, babe. It can’t be both, you know that.”
I let out a loud groan, being forced to come to terms with all of this. “Yeah, I know.” I huff. I deserve this, I made this mess, let Paige get this close when I knew I shouldn’t have.
She was always there, everything I ever went through with Julian, Paige was the ear I needed. And because of that she weaved her way into my life and threaded a giant knot that I was left to untangle.
Then there’s Julian. Who even passed all the yelling is still the sweetheart I fell for in the first place. Lifting me up, and supporting me through it all. Yet, I still went out of my way to hurt him over and over again.
I’m fucking screwed.

“Two minutes is crazy, P.”
“Shut up. Quit being nosy.” I responded.
We played the Storm at home tonight, adding another much needed win to our season. As a result, Nika sits across from me at our table at Nobu, a much needed catch up with my good friend.
“I’m not! I wanted to talk to you about it anyway.” Nika hums. She’s smirking at me by the time I pocket my phone in my brown pants. “Those photos look like you got a lil girlfriend.”
“Definitely not a girlfriend. It’s complicated, Nik.” I answer, reaching for my passion fruit drink and taking a sip. “She got a boyfriend.”
Nika’s jaw drops as she looks at me. Maraye and Julian’s relationship is still surprisingly kept out of the public eye. I had to applaud her for it, I didn’t think she would be able to pull it off with how much Julian had been nagging her.
“Are you being serious.” Nika asks me. Our server comes back to the table with our food. I smile, muttering a thank you and taking my plate of Wagyu salad.
“Oh yeah. Deadass serious.”
“Paige.”
“I swear it’s not my fault.” I shake my head in defense. “She just— it’s literally impossible to stay away from her, bro.”
Nika doesn’t even try to stop the cackle that leaves her throat, ridiculing me and I can’t help but laugh with her. If I wasn’t in this position, I probably would’ve been laughing at myself too. Down bad over a girl who’s in a relationship, and allegedly straight. It’s truly comical.
“Oh my God, you’re pussy whipped!”
“Chill!” I scold, kicking her leg under the table in an attempt to quiet her down from yelling obscenities in this nice ass restaurant. “I haven’t even had sex with her, Nik. This ain’t what you think it is.”
She feeds a piece of sushi into her mouth. “You know what this reminds me of?” Nika asks, tapping her chopstick against the ceramic plate. “This reminds me of Nyla.”
I stop digging into my salad and roll my eyes at the mention of her name. The mention of the girl who I had been seeing for a large part of my college career. We’d slept together for a while, then I caught feelings and made it complicated. In all honesty you could blame Nyla for my lack of dating, but this wasn’t that.
Maraye wasn’t anything like Nyla whatsoever. I truly believed that.
“There’s been many other girls since Nyla, y’know that right?” I explain, my lips moving into a tight line.
“Ew, I don’t need to know about your slut activities, P.” She brushes me off.
“You asked!” I counter.
“My point is, you’re letting yourself get in too deep again.” She tells me and I turn my attention back to my food. “I’m not your mom. Explore, get to know people, I don’t care. But exploring with the straight girl, with a man is gonna get you hurt, P.”
My leg bounces soundly under the table. It’s a weird feeling, because in my heart I know Maraye is nothing like Nyla. But at the same time, we’re doing all that we’re doing while she goes back home to Julian.
“I can never figure her out.” I start, catching Nika slightly off guard. “I dunno if she likes me, or if she just wants sex, or if I’m jus’ a distraction for him.”
“You caught feelings for her, didn’t you.”
I hate that word. Feelings. I hate admitting them, I hate feeling them.
I think I do have feelings for Raye. She’s all I ever seem to be thinking about nowadays. I’m searching for her in everyone else. When someone laughs I’m thinking that it doesn’t sound like hers, or how someone’s perfume doesn’t smell as good as her’s does.
“I feel something for her, that’s for damn sure.” I shrug, mouth full of some fancy steak. “I needa clear my head, I’m never thinking straight when it comes to her.”
Nika stifles a giggle, covering her mouth with her palm.
“What?” I ask.
“Not thinking straight. Get it.”
I stare blankly before shaking my head. This was the person who I was trusting to give me advice. “Ha ha, dyke joke. Real funny Nik.”
“You said it, not me!” The giggles some more before finally pulling herself together. “All I’m saying, is that you don’t deserve to get hurt again. Take some time, figure it all out, and then be honest with her.”
I nod, taking it all in. Maraye is amazing in all ways possible, and I shamelessly want her to myself. But unfortunately that just isn’t the case. She isn’t my own, she belongs to someone else. I keep telling myself that I have to respect that, but it just becomes harder and harder every damn day.
I don’t know how to be second best. I’ve never been second best or allowed myself to be that. Whether it’s basketball or anything else in life, I’d rather be dead last than second best.
So to know that Julian is Maraye’s first choice, and I’m forced to be second is fucking unbearable.
Maybe I do need space. Figure out what it is I want from her and move forward from there. I don’t know how to do that though. I was fucking miserable that week where she wasn’t texting me, now I need space. Funny how that works.
“P?”
“Hmm?”
“You good?” Nika asks, spicy mayo at the corner of her lips.
I nod, feeling my mood slightly diminish just thinking about all this. “Yeah, fine. How’s recovery goin’?” I ask, changing the subject and moving the spotlight off of myself.

“Susie, will you indeed come home next Saturday, and be my own again, and kiss me as you used to? I hope for you so much, and feel so eager for you, feel that I cannot wait, feel that now I must have you — that the expectation once more to see your face again makes me feel hot and feverish, and my heart beats so fast.” (Excerpt from Open me carefully: Emily Dickinson's intimate letters to Susan Hunington Dickinson by Emily Dickinson)
“That is your favorite breakfast.”
You stopped playing with your fork and looked at him. “I am not hungry.”
He ate the last bite of his dish. “Oh, and why would that be? The last time you ate was for lunch yesterday and it was almost nothing.”
“I do not know. Perhaps I am tragically ill.”
“Clearly,” He scoffed sarcastically. “You miss her.”
“I don't miss anybody, Charles. I just feel unwell.” you stated.
“You, Sister, are a terrible liar.”
“And you, Brother, are delusional.”
He shook his head and stood up, putting the napkin you had embroidered on the table before storming off without any explanation.
You rolled your eyes, drinking your berry tea.
As much as you wanted to deny it, you were pensive because you missed Francesca.
You haven't seen her since dinner a couple of weeks ago, and you couldn't help but feel bad about it.
Three days after that evening, you went to her aunt's home but were told she was not there. You left a message for her: she was invited to join you for tea the next day or whenever she wanted to, for you would be at your home every day.
You canceled quite some plans just in case she went, but she never did. And you were devastated.
It was a lovely evening, and you thought everything went really well. Perhaps it was because you had called her darling. You felt it was proper at the moment, but now, not anymore. Now, in your mind, you have made her feel uncomfortable and lost her forever.
Charles’ mind was known for hardly being made up.
Dilemma was almost his second name, and it was no secret. Always a dilemma, and now wasn't the exception.
He hates to see you upset and hurting. You are his sister, and ever since you were born, he vowed to love you and protect you. And after your parents sent you away, it was his biggest purpose.
Right now, he had no choice but to tell Francesca Bridgerton, in front of him, the reason he was there.
Charles cleared his throat. “I suppose you have an idea as to why I am here.”
“Charles…”
“Frannie, did she do something wrong?”
“No, I just…” She sighed. “I have not been feeling very well lately, that is all.”
“Are you sure?” he questioned, not quite believing her.
“Yes.” She nodded.
“My sister has been punishing herself for your absence, and… it breaks me to see her like this,” he mentioned. Francesca felt her heart break at the thought of you hurting. “Why don't you come for lunch at our home? I shall have the cooks do something you like.”
“Uh, we were invited for lunch at the Maguire's home, I am sorry…” she lied.
Charles sighed. “When can we receive you, then?”
“I do not know.” she said, looking down to her hands.
He stood up. “I really hope you know she is hurting because of your absence. She did those five years, and she has these past weeks. She loves you, and I know you love her too. And no, not in a friendly manner.”
And, just like that, he left.
Francesca sighed and watched him leave, not able to decide what to do. To stop him. To ask him. To do anything.
In truth, the reason Francesca has not visited you in weeks is because she was scared of loving you. Not for being you, but for being a woman.
Her aunt Winnie had asked her if Lord Chadwick was courting her, but she didn't quite know what to say. She just said she did not know, but her aunt was convinced he was.
Understandably so, because no man would just invite a young lady to his home so many times if he didn't have any intention to court her. What she didn't know was that the one interested in her was you. Another lady.
After the implications regarding your brother, Francesca's aunt remarked how important it was for her to marry a gentleman, a good man, wealthy, and with title. The only one Francesca wanted was you.
You, you, you… No one else.
It pained her to know that her actions were affecting you, especially because the last thing she ever wanted was to make you feel bad. She loved you, and she knew that when you love somebody, you want that person to be happy.
But you could never feel fine or happy without Francesca. You couldn't deny that. Nor would she, especially now that you have reunited. And now that she knew that you loved her, too.
In all honesty, you calling her darling was unexpected and spooked her more than she was willing to admit. Maybe because it was a term of endearment and no one had used it on her before, or maybe because you used it, confirming she was your darling. Yours. Oh, how much Francesca longed to be yours.
So she thought about you during the lunch at Chadwick House she was invited to attend but wasn't intending to, during the afternoon she would've spent playing pianoforte instead, and during the evening she was supposed to get ready to sleep but didn't. Her aunt went to sleep, and she did quite the opposite, sneaking to the backyard to get you flowers, and leaving her home for the purpose of finding you.
Francesca did not particularly come up with a plan, so when she saw herself in front of the entrance to Chadwick House without a way to get in, she got worried. However, she didn't have to worry for much longer because Charles opened the door some minutes later.
“Charles!” She flinched and hid her hands behind her back as he suddenly appeared in front of her with a confused frown.
“Francesca?” He grinned. “What are you doing here?”
Francesca shook her head. “I- uh… I came to- nothing! I was just- I am going back.”
“Frannie, with all due respect,” Charles sighed, grabbing her forearm to stop her from leaving. “Shut up. My sister is in her chambers. Third floor, second door to the left.”
“Sorry,” She pouted. “I guess-”
“Lord save me! You two are driving me mad!” he exclaimed as he covered his face with his hands. “Get in there, Francesca, and don't you dare leave before resolving whatever it is that you two have going.”
With that, he left her there and got on the awaiting carriage she had failed to notice before.
Francesca sighed, walking inside the house and following your brother's directions until she reached your door.
She knocked, but received no answer, so she opened the door to find your room empty. Francesca guessed that, perhaps, you had gone out for a walk, so she went downstairs and ended up looking at you from afar.
You were sitting in the swing and looking at the night sky in utter silence, and she almost didn't dare to interrupt you. She, however, had a purpose for her visit and wouldn't let the courage she had gathered go to waste.
Francesca sat silently in the swing beside yours without saying a word.
“Charles, I told you to let me be.” you groaned, looking opposite from 'his' face.
She cleared her throat. “This is not Charles.”
You turned around abruptly to face her.
Dear God.
“Francesca-” you whispered, almost not believing it. “Are you truly here?”
“Yes, I am here,” She smiled, showing you the tulip of an unknown color in the dark. “But, firstly, this is for you.”
You smiled weakly.
At the silence, she spoke. “I, uh- I had to see you.”
“What for?”
“To apologize,” she replied and sighed, getting ready for the speech she had prepared the whole afternoon. “For not coming back after dinner. I… I was scared because you called me darling, and it made me realize that I might not be… alone in these feelings I find impossible to name. It felt real out of the sudden, and I was not prepared for it. I thought about them all those days and reached to a conclusion I was dreading: that I love you. Not like a girl who is fond of her childhood best friend or like a girl who has such dear affection for a sister, no; I love you like one loves the person that is to be their spouse, their love match. I know well enough that this is not something a woman is supposed to feel for another woman, but I do, and I have reasons to believe you do as well. Please, tell me I am not alone in this feeling, for I believe that love could never be as profound as mine for you were it not reciprocated.”
You grabbed the rope of her swing and pulled her close to you. “I love you, my darling. I love you so much that I fear the word love is not enough to grasp all that I feel for you. It is pathetic, the way your proximity makes my whole being combust in yearning; it is alluring, the way your eyes can heal all that chaos when they look into mine. Having you here with me, under the full moon and in a field of violets, is the utmost proof of how sacred this love is. How sacred we must treat it. Being yours is the ultimate purpose of my existence, and I would be beyond grateful to you if you allowed me to honor it by loving you devotedly and cherishing you adoringly.”
Francesca exhaled and hesitated for a single, intrusive second. She, right then and there, kissed your lips softly. There was doubt and insecurity, but you managed to wash it out by kissing her back with a passion she couldn't have even dreamt of.
“Would you like to stay for the night? It is far too late for you to return home by yourself and we do not have another carriage available. I fear Charles will not return until tomorrow.” you proposed, standing up and offering her your hand to do so, too.
Francesca nodded, now standing as well, and staring at your lips.
You smirked, closing the distance promptly.
You did not know how to kiss, but the two of you would certainly learn that night.
Of course there was an extra room, but there was no need for that. Despite the last sleepover being five years ago, there was still this feeling of comfort and intimacy shared between you and her.
“I know that sharing a bed has never been an issue for us,” you began. “But, if you wish, I could have the help bring another bed for you.”
“No!” she exclaimed, regretting the haste and reluctance of her answer. “I mean, no. It is not necessary, for your bed is big enough for the both of us.”
You nodded with a smile. “Would you like for me to get a maid to help you get ready to sleep? I might as well call-”
“No, There should be no need. We could help each other, is that not right?” she answered shyly. You were surprised to hear that, but thought nothing of it, ignoring the warmth taking over your body at the mere idea. “I- well, I- I did not mean it like… if you… if you want to. I do not have a problem. If you do, it is alright if you-”
“Yes, it is alright.” you agreed, approaching her and pointing to the bed with your head. “I had a maid bring a sleeping chemise for you… should you like for me to-?”
She nodded, undoing her coiffure before you got to her. “Yes, I should like for you to help me now.”
Francesca didn't know what was going on in herself. Her words seemed to come out before she could process them and her intentions were rather unclear even to herself.
Now, she was in front of you. Your hesitant hands trembled lightly as you started taking her dress off. Francesca let out a soft gasp when your fingers grazed her skin, noticing your closeness as she leaned closer to you, not creating contact just yet but desiring so, so very anxiously. You started undoing her corset slowly, trying to take in every second of proximity existent between you, the fervid hunger invading the moment.
Francesca let out a shaky breath, leaning toward you and, this time, she was actually resting her weight on you timidly. She whispered your name, almost silently enough for you to not hear.
But you always heard her.
Her head was resting on your shoulder, touching your cheek with her cheekbones. “I love you.”
You kissed her cheek gently and then went to her neck. You left slight bites on her skin and moaned as she pressed herself onto you slightly more.
“I love you, too,” you reminded her, and it felt as if it was the very first time you told her so. “I will never not.”
You kissed her shoulders and put your hands on her hips.
“I think we are…” you whimpered as she intertwined your hands with hers. “We are doing something we most likely should not.”
She exhaled with difficulty. “What would that be?”
“I saw them,” you began. “Anne and Petunia, my maids, they- I saw them doing this.”
“This?”
“Making love.”
Your answer left her in a place between confusion and oblivious understanding. She knew, but also she did not.
“What does it mean?”
“I went for a late night walk in the backyard and heard some noises,” you told her. “Chadwick House is not as big as the Devereaux Manor, so we do not need as much help, nor do we have enough room for more. Some of the help that stays at the house has to share a room, so my two lady maids do. I know where their room is, so, upon hearing the sounds, I peeked through the window in case something had happened. And I saw them… As soon as my shock subsided, I ran back to my chambers, but not without seeing them like we are now. They were kissing and touching each other, nude.”
Francesca frowned. “How do you know what it is called?”
“A few days later, I asked Charles about it, but I never said I had seen them. I told him I had heard it somewhere,” you answered. “He panicked and told me not to speak of such things ever again. Then, he said those are things men and women do after they marry, but that some men do it without marrying and that it was normal, but respectable ladies like me could not do so under any circumstance… So, naturally, I ended up asking Anna about it and blaming it on Charles. She said that it is called making love and that people do it to consummate their marriage. I told her that Charles said some men do, but that ladies like me cannot, so she explained to me that it is said that women lose their worth after doing that and must be valuable for deserving a marriage. Also, we could get pregnant when doing it with a man, but men do not have to worry about themselves being with child; I, then, asked if men did it with men or women with women, and she said it was possible but not well seen at all, so I should not do it unless I love and trust the woman, but that I must be careful and not tell a soul about it because it was a display of love, goodness, and intimacy that deserves to be cherished and not broken by society's discrimination. Anne also said that it is supposed to feel quite pleasurable. That is how I know.”
She nodded, taking a few seconds to think about it and analyze the situation.
“Can we… do that?” Francesca asked, some boldness whose origin she unfortunately ignored.
“Oh,” Your eyes met hers as she turned around. “Well, if you want to… I mean, I want to, but only if you do as well, uh… Do you want to?”
“Yes, I want to make love with you.” She smiled confidently.
“Are you sure?”
“I have never been more sure of anything in my life,” Francesca assured you, giving you a quick kiss on the lips. “Can I take off your gown?”
A soft exhale left your lips at the thought. “You can take all of me, my darling.”
Francesca smiled a little, pressing her forehead to yours. Your noses brushed each other's before you kissed.
And, when it happened, you could only describe it as mystical. With her, everything felt like magic.
You thought, more often than not, that you weren't built for this world. You weren't built for this society because you wanted nothing but her and to be able to dance with her at balls, to just say ‘this is my wife’ to everyone you met, to love her freely.
You weren't built for a society that kept you away from her.
You wanted to be with her like this always, to feel the tip of her fingers brush your skin and cause goosebumps, to stand naked before her and her before you, just like you were now.
“What are we supposed to do now?” she asked.
You shrugged. “Shall we find out?”
She chuckled nervously, feeling like the fire lighting up the room was actually inside of her. Francesca nodded, giving you the needed cue to end the distance between you two and kiss her.
It was hesitant at first. You didn't know what to do with your hands, so you just put her hair behind her ear, deepened the kiss, and then cupped her face. Meanwhile, Francesca freed your hair and rested her hands on your shoulders, not knowing what to do either.
She ended the kiss, looking at you with a glint of need in her shy hazel eyes. She sighed, all her fears leaving her body with that exhale. Her hands went to the back of your neck to pull you close and began kissing there, imitating what you were doing when you helped her undress.
You held her by her waist and her hands traveled your shoulders and her fingers drew burning, irregular shapes on your back. “This feels good.”
“It does.” She smiled against your skin.
In an attempt to get closer, you put your leg between hers and pulled her until your skin was on hers. Which also meant that you were close enough for your thigh to touch her core.
The moan she let out was almost delirious and the way her hips bucked in response caused her thigh to stumble upon you.
Your eyes met, both silently agreeing that what you just did felt, oh, so good.
Francesca swallowed hard and looked down as she bucked her hips to provoke the same feeling to both of you.
“God,” you moaned, holding her tightly against you and moving like she moved. “My bed.”
When you pulled apart to go to the bed, a strange emptiness took over you. It was not only emotional, as if missing each other a bit; it was physical, too. A warm and wet something was left on your thighs as a result of your pleasure, which came as a surprise because neither of you had any idea what any of what you were doing was, but you did know how good it felt.
Once you were finally sitting on your bed, you looked at each other as if asking for permission, but then you realized how absurd it was to ask, to wait, to hesitate, so you kissed, this time hungrily and intensely. The way you clumsily returned to your previous position gave away how much you needed each other.
You were so clumsy and careless, that this time it wasn't your thighs but your cores that met, and you cried out at how terribly delicious that contact felt.
“This… feels so…” Francesca began, not able to come up with the words that could describe how she was feeling, so she just kept moving with you and moaning your name loudly.
“Good?” you panted.
“Better than- than good,” she replied, her breath labored. “Great.”
Hearing her be vocal about this was unexpected to say the least. However, you found it exciting and hot. “How do you feel, Fran?” you encouraged her to speak, craving to hear her say things about this very wonderful moment.
“Great,” she replied, a strange pressure building inside her very being. “This- I like… this.”
You kissed her eagerly, harshly, to then ask. “Do you?”
“Yes…” She nodded, kissing you again as your hands traveled to her hips and then used the contact to guide her to be faster and pull her close enough to apply more pressure.
Francesca broke the kiss, her head falling back and giving you access to her neck. You sucked her skin, beginning to notice how she had some burning red spots on the places your mouth has been to before.
A desperate moan left your lips when a sensation started to form deep inside you, and she was feeling it, too. You could only describe it as if you were running from a great distance to a cliff, and everything you were doing in the earthly world made the inside you run faster and faster until you reached the edge. And there, Francesca was waiting for you to see how you slowed down for a second, only so she could hold your hand and jump with you.
In both the earthly and imaginary world, you moaned her name loudly as you fell off the edge of the cliff, or as you came with her.
She moaned and gasped, and hid her head against your neck to muffle the sounds she was making.
“Do not hold back,” you told her, feeling your orgasm last so very long. “I wish to hear you, please.”
Francesca obeyed you, pressing her forehead to yours and moaning your name against your lips.
It was so innocent, yet so sensual. It felt right, but, oh, so immoral. And carnal. And fascinating. Scandalous, beautiful, mystical, sinful.
You didn't stop until it was too much. Her embrace didn't end, and she wanted anything but.
“I love you.” you whispered, guiding her to lie on the bed with you.
She smiled. “I love you, too.”
“I am so happy that you still had love for me.” You kissed her softly.
“I will always have love for you.” Francesca replied.
You stared at each other in silence. Her hand was on your cheek, caressing it, and yours drew delicate patterns on the soft skin of her hips.
“Can we do this again?” Francesca asked.
You smiled. “Can we?”
“I should like that.”
“Me as well.”

One trend I've noticed a lot lately in the speculation of Tyrion meeting Daenerys is how he'll influence her. The argument often is that Tyrion will encourage her more "fire and blood" destructive tendencies when they get to Westeros. However, this view is often one-sided as it's always about how Tyrion will influence Daenerys but never about how Daenerys will influence Tyrion.
"Daenerys, I am thrice your age," Ser Jorah said. "I have seen how false men are. Very few are worthy of trust, and Daario Naharis is not one of them. Even his beard wears false colors." That angered her. "Whilst you have an honest beard, is that what you are telling me? You are the only man I should ever trust?" He stiffened. "I did not say that." "You say it every day. Pyat Pree's a liar, Xaro's a schemer, Belwas a braggart, Arstan an assassin . . . do you think I'm still some virgin girl, that I cannot hear the words behind the words?" "Your Grace—" She bulled over him. "You have been a better friend to me than any I have known, a better brother than Viserys ever was. You are the first of my Queensguard, the commander of my army, my most valued counselor, my good right hand. I honor and respect and cherish you—but I do not desire you, Jorah Mormont, and I am weary of your trying to push every other man in the world away from me, so I must needs rely on you and you alone. It will not serve, and it will not make me love you any better." -ASOS, Daenerys IV
Daenerys is not the sheltered child Aegon was who Tyrion could easily manipulate as shown when she called out Jorah for trying to isolate her from other men. Even Tyrion admitted to Aegon, having never met Daenerys that "she is strong" and "fierce." Daenerys was more worldly at 14 than Aegon is at 16. Even as a small, frightened girl at age 13 in the beginning of the series, she had more street smarts than her adult brother Viserys and has shown to be a prodigy in the series. Tyrion would not be able to manipulate her easily, especially since would initially be wary of him for being a Lannister.
Tyrion at the end of the day would be serving as her subordinate, him being largely dependent on her. Tyrion largely is the way he is because of the toxic family he grew up in. The Lannister vision has no idea of a Good Society, it's just pure self-aggrandizement by any means necessary. As the adage goes, rot always starts at the head. The monarchs Tyrion served as Hand, Joffrey and Cersei, were both cruel, incompetent tyrants with senses of entitlement that outweighed their actual abilities. They also had no concept of the duties of a monarch to their subjects, and instead just abused their power over others, including sexually. The one who actually ran the show for the Lannister regime, Tywin, was a cold, abusive Machiavellian who brutalized the smallfolk and his children, seeing them as pawns in his schemes. Tyrion could be cunning and brutal, because it was both encouraged and necessary for the winner-take-all, dog-eat-dog world of the Lannister court. It was an environment designed to bring out the darker side of his nature.
However, since the beginning we saw hints of the lighter side of his nature such as when he gave emotional support to Jon and designed a special saddle for Bran. He even helped Catelyn when they were attacked by the mountain clans even though she kidnapped him. In A Clash of Kings, we see hints of Tyrion wanting to be something other than the cold Machiavellian like his father when he stands up for Sansa when Joffrey beats her, and he has Morec killed and Slynt sent to the Wall for killing Barra, wanting to "do justice." In A Dance with Dragons, he risks his life to protect Aegon and even in his lowest he looks out for Penny even though she is a complete stranger to him.
Daenerys is a foil to Cersei, whose ruling philosophy is expressed in the statement "Why do the gods make kings and queens, if not to protect the ones who can't protect themselves?" Daenerys tries to live up to the image of an ideal monarch who protects the weak. She liberates the oppressed from slavery and tries to protect them, even performing acts like tending to those afflicted with the bloody flux herself, marrying someone she doesn't want and putting her plan of going to Westeros on hold to achieve peace. Working as Hand to Queen Daenerys, Tyrion may find himself in a change of pace in a different environment where for once his more positive tendencies are encouraged with his fondness for "cripples, bastards and broken things."
In short, in cutting himself off from his toxic family, Tyrion may actually find a new beginning in service to Daenerys. He's the Machiavellian polymath and court politician she needs, and she's the competent, idealistic monarch he needs.

I sighed, my head thumping. It had actually been pounding for three hours and despite the two aspirin and three empty glasses of water nothing had helped or even remotely soothed it. But I needed to get my work done, I was too determined not to. I scribbled down notes feverishly, my hand cramping more with each stupid letter.
“What is something no one wants, but no one wants to lose.”
The voice made me jump before I realised who it was. I relaxed my hand for moment, secretly thankful for the untimely interruption, as I registered the words that had been said. It was a riddle.
“Come out Hawthorne,” I called with a smile, lifting up my head and looking around to see where he might be hiding. I knew all the passageways and trapdoors that lead to this room, though they all seemed untampered with. I furrowed my brows in confusion trying to work it out. Where was his voice coming from?
“Not until you give the answer, heiress,” he replied, I could practically hear the smile coating his tone.
I sighed, “a lawsuit.”
Jameson reluctantly emerged from the wall opposite my desk. I contained the surprise from bleeding out into my features, giving me away. I hadn’t known there’d been a passage there. He sauntered forwards, hands in his pockets, so laid back he was nearly horizontal.
“New secret passageway?” I raised a questioning eyebrow.
He nodded, “discovered it this morning and wanted to scare you with it.”
“It didn’t work,” I said coolly.
“Oh really?” he muses, “because I distinctly remember seeing you jump out of your skins just now, heiress.”
“I was trying to entertain your poor attempt to scare me is all,” I replied with a shrug.
“Oh is that it?” he grinned.
“Mhmm,” I hummed in response before standing up and walking over to him, “you were going easy on me.”
“I wasn’t,” he shook his head.
“Oh then you should probably think of a harder riddle next time,” I teased.
“Feeling cocky?” he asked tipping his head to the side.
“Don’t panic no one could ever get as cocky as you,” I winked, “in case you were worried.”
“Well you’ve put my mind at ease,” he flashed a grin, kissing me on the cheek.
My face flushed a deep scarlet. I didn’t know how he still managed to make me blush like this. He just did. His grin widened when he noticed the colour tint to my cheeks and he kissed me again, causing me to turn an even deeper shade of red.
“I’ve been told I have that kind of effect on people,” I replied, looking up at him doe-eyed.
He stared at me, like he was taking in every intricacy of my face, drinking in every detail. It was as if nothing else around me existed in that moment, like I was the only thing that was worth looking at. It made my heart swell to nearly triple its size within a matter of seconds.
“You look exhausted,” he finally said after a long pause.
My face fell flat.
“Thanks,” I quipped sarcastically
“No seriously Ave,” he murmured cupping my face in his hands, “you look tired, how long have you been at this?”
His eyed a paper, dropped his hands and began running his finger down the contents, silently analysing my task.
“Only a little while,” I replied with a soft shrug.
“How long is a little while?” he asked.
I hesitated, “not that long.”
“You’re a horrible liar,” he almost laughed, brushing loose hairs from my face and tucking them behind my ears.
“Damn you Jamie,” I murmured.
“It’s not my fault you’re so easy to read,” he shrugged.
I sighed sitting back down in the office chair, my back aching to remind me that I should really talk a walk around rather than to more work, “I need to do this.”
“You need to take a break,” he countered, taking my pen from my hand.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed another, “I’m fine.”
“You’re tense,” Jameson replied simply.
“I’m not tense,” I snapped, glaring at him.
He raised an eyebrow, proving his point, much to my annoyance, “don’t be stubborn heiress, you and I both know you need a rest.”
“I took a break half an hour ago,” I lied through my teeth.
He let it slide this time, “take another.”
“If I take breaks every half hour I’ll never get anything done,” I exhaled, scanning over my next paper.
“You’re putting too much pressure on yourself Avery,” he said gently, “come on, let’s go somewhere, anywhere you want, you name it and I’ll take you.”
I looked up at him blankly, “this office.”
He sighed.
“I have work to do,” I replied, “I’m sorry,”
“Work can wait,” he protested.
“This work can’t,” I raised my voice a little, standing up.
“I’ll hire a whole team of people to do it for you,” he said, an inch of desperation in his voice.
“I need to do it Jameson,” I replied sharply, giving him a stubborn look that he couldn’t ignore.
He brushed last me softly and picked up a few papers, turning them over and scanning the information. He surveyed nearly everything on the desk. Taking a step back, I realised what a mess it all was.
“I can’t believe Alisa let you take all of this,” he muttered, “Avery this is days worth of work, hell maybe even a weeks worth.”
“She doesn’t know,” I said quietly.
“No wonder,” he murmured, “she would have you murdered if she knew you were attempting all of this.”
“It’s not that much,” I reasoned, “…I have responsibilities Jameson.”
“And one of those responsibilities is your health,” he told me, a firm expression on his face, “so you’re going to leave this all now and come with me for a bit.”
I shook my head vigorously, “I can’t-“
“Oh no I’m not taking no for an answer,” he smirked, “and we all know how stubborn I can be.”
“Not as stubborn as me,” I stuck my tongue out, arms firmly folded across my chest.
He flashed a grin of mischief, “we’ll see heiress, we’ll see.”
I felt his arm wrap around my waist, making my stomach flutter. His other arm swept my feet off of the floor and I lost all sense of balance. Fear seizes my heart for a fraction of a second and adrenaline courses through my veins. My arms instinctively clasped around Jameson’s neck.
“What are you doing?” I yelled, my heart still thumping.
“Carrying you away,” he replied bluntly.
“Put me down,” I grumbled, kicking my feet. A fruitless attempt at breaking free.
“No can do, heiress,” he grinned with a wink.
“Jameson I’m serious, I actually have to-“
“If you say the word work one more time I will tickle you,” he said, pressing his forehead onto mine.
“You wouldn’t,” I whispered biting back a smile.
“Oh I’m dead serious,” he replied darkly.
I glared at him playfully, “I hate you.”
“Nu-uh you love me,” Jameson shook his head, “you said so yourself.”
I furrowed my eyebrows, “when?”
“Just this morning,” he said, a smug sort of look in his emerald eyes.
“I must’ve been delirious,” I joked.
He beamed, before putting me down gently. Secretly I wished he hadn’t, I liked being in his arms. It made me feel protected. But I didn’t say anything. He swiftly handed me a pair of shoes and I stared down at them.
“We’re going on a walk,” Jameson declared.
“A walk?” I questioned.
“A walk,” he confirmed, with a lopsided smile.
“Come on Jameson I’m not playing games,” I rolled my eyes.
He shrugged, “well I am.”
“Please,” I begged, “I actually have things to do.”
He pushed the shoes further into my hands, “walk.”
I groaned reluctantly pulling them on, scowling at him the whole time. He only chuckled at my annoyance and aggravation so I purposefully tied the laces as slowly as possible.
“Come on,” Jameson said, when he noticed, “or I’ll carry you again.”
I shot him a look as I stepped outside. Fresh air hit my lungs. I’d forgotten how much I loved the taste. I drank in all I could then exhaled. I wanted a clear head. Sometimes I didn’t realise how busy my mind is until I forced it to relax. I hated to admit it but I really needed this.
Slowly, we began to walk down the pathway. Jameson interlocked his hand with mine, his fingers fitting perfectly as always. There was something about holding his hand that automatically comforted me. I couldn’t explain it. It was as if some sort of wave had washed away all that was bad, all that scared me. Besides his hands were always warm, mine were always freezing.
We walked in complete silence and it was pure bliss. The silence was everything I needed, this peace, this break, this moment of nothingness. My mind was finally free to just be. I didn’t have the pressure of thinking or feeling or doing.
He knew me too well.
Better than I knew myself. Before I knew it we found ourselves at the beach. Well, I found myself at the beach, Jameson had probably lead us here. In my absence of thought, I’d almost blanked the entire scenery on the way there, so I’d only realised we’d reached the beach when it smelt like the sea. I glanced at Jameson smiling, he knew how much I adored the beach.
“Want to go onto the beach?” he asked.
“Is that even a question?” I scoffed, barely containing my excitement.
“Just checking,” he winked
Despite the night coming in swiftly and the grey clouds tumbling over each other in the solemn sky, it felt so perfect. I broke off into a sprint towards the sea, running straight into it after discarding my shoes and socks. The water is piercingly freezing, so much so I hopped back a little. I crashed into Jameson who I hadn’t realised had followed me into the sea.
The ocean’s salty spray jumped up and licked my cheeks. My face broke out into an infectious smile that Jameson caught. He put his hands on my waist, lifted me off of the floor and spun me around as if I were in some sort of romance movie.
“I love you, heiress,” Jameson smiled as he put me down.
“Not as much as I love you,” I replied, tapping the tip of his nose with my finger.
I tipped my head back and laughed, stumbling into him after losing my footing. He caught me, as he always does. Then Jameson leant down and slowly kissed my lips. The motion was so long and drawn out I could’ve sworn it last eternity and three seconds all at the same time. He gently took my rosy face into his warm hands, kissing my icy lips again. The feeling was addictive, I craved more. I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened our kiss.
I’d never wanted something so badly in my entire life. He’d become my only desire. His lips were soft and silky, warm on mine. He tasted indescribably good. We broke away for breath, two beaming idiots.
I placed two tentative hands on his chest and stared at him, my eyes all wide and sparkling. Then I pushed him sharply, my tender expression replaced with the mischievous grin he taught me to use. Before he can comprehend what I’ve done he had already hit the water with a splash.
“You’re so dead, heiress,” he warned, standing up, prepared to go into a water war.
“Not if you can’t catch me,” I stuck my tongue out, taking off down the beach.
“You’re on!” Jameson yelled, beginning to chase me.
I laughed freely, adrenaline pumping through my body. I ran, the wind whistling through my ears and blowing through my hair. My chest grew more painful with every laboured breath and heartbeat but I didn’t stop running. I felt a pair of familiar arms grab my waist and yank me off of the floor.
“Ahhhh Jamie!” I screamed as he flipped me over his shoulder.
“I think I got you,” he said, I could imagine a smirk playing on his features.
“Put me down!” I yelled, pounding my fists on his back.
“Okay then,” he grinned, dropping me into the water.
I landed with a splash and the salty sea soaked through my clothes.
“Hey! That is not what I meant,” I grinned, standing back up arms folded.
“You said ‘put me down’ and I did just that,” he laughed.
I rolled my eyes playfully, “okay then smartass.”
He took my hand and led me back onto the sand. Jameson sat down and pulled me down gently between his legs. I rested back into his chest. My teeth chattered and arms shook as the cold air whipped around our sopping bodies. Pushing Jameson into the sea may not have been the smartest idea, though I thought it was worth it.
“Here,” he said, shedding his jumper.
“Put that back on,” I scolded, “you’re going to get pneumonia.”
“Been there, done that,” he shrugged.
“And you don’t want to do it again, put your jumper on,” I exhaled.
“You sound like Oren,” Jameson chuckled.
“I don’t care,” I snapped, “I don’t want you to freeze.”
“Come on Avery, just take it,” he said, “you know you’re cold, I know you’re cold, so let’s just be smart about this here.”
I sighed, taking it from him, “fine but if you get some sort of illness tomorrow I’m blaming myself and you can’t tell me not to.”
“Deal,” he shrugged.
I slowly slipped the jumper on before he wrapped his arms right around me tightly. I felt safe. I could smell the sweet scent of his cologne. The one that was practically a drug to me now. I nuzzled my face into the crook of his neck, his soft skin against mine.
I leant back and our eyes locked. He looked a little hesitant before the word left his lips, “tahiti,” he whispered.
One word. Our word. It sent a shiver down my spine. A mixture of relief and fear hit my stomach. I was waiting for him to say it. I’d had my explanation prepared but now I struggled to explain what was going on inside of my head. I blinked a few times and tried to form the right words.
“I’m stressed, like really stressed and overwhelmed with everything I have to do,” I just blurted out, “I can’t cope, there’s too much to do with too little time to do it in.”
“It’s okay,” he soothed, rubbing his thumb over my knuckles, “it’s okay.”
“It doesn’t feel okay,” I said, feeling an uncomfortable lump begin to grow in my throat, “nothing about this feels remotely close to okay.”
“Tell me something, heiress,” he replied gently, “the work you’re doing, is it necessary?”
“Of course it’s-“
“Not necessary to you per se,” he clarified, “I mean, is it work you’ve given yourself?”
I remained silent, answering with no words. I liked to feel on top of things, in control. If I gave myself extra little things to do to fill the time it would benefit me in the future, at least that was my philosophy.
“I’ve seen your to do lists,” he said quietly, “you work to hard, give yourself too much to do and you don’t know when to take a break.”
“I just don’t want to fail at this,” I replied, with a shaky voice, “I want to be three steps ahead not eight steps behind.”
“You have never been eight behind Avery Kylie Grambs, not since the moment I met you,” Jameson comforted me, “and you will never be eight steps behind, in all of your life.”
My cheeks flush and it’s not from the icy breeze.
“I wish you could see yourself the way I see you,” he said thoughtfully, “because you’re a phenomenon. I just wish you would stop worrying so much.”
His words bled straight into my heart, building up in the collection of all the wonderful things he’s ever said to me. It was a wonder I still had space, it surely would’ve burst by now. I felt myself get a little emotional at his words.
“Me too,” I grumbled, “I feel so stupid when I worry.”
“No, not because your worry is stupid,” he said quickly, “your feelings are very valid, but just because I hate to see you so upset.”
“I’ll try to worry less,” I told him.
“Easier said than done,” Jameson pointed out.
“Unfortunately,” I sighed.
“You know you can ask for help?” he asked, “if you do want to get your impossible list finished I’m here, Grayson’s there, Alisa’s there, hell anyone you ask would be there.”
“I don’t want to ask anyone for help,” I shook my head stubbornly, “I don’t need help.”
“Everyone needs help sometimes,” he broke to me gently.
“Not with paperwork,” I replied, “that’s stupid to ask help for.”
“No it’s not,” he shrugged.
“It’s practically admitting failure,” I said, playing with the hem of his jumper rather than meeting his eye.
“Nu-uh that’s where you’re wrong,” he replied, tipping my chin upwards so I’d be forced to look at him.
I didn’t pull away, “how so?”
“Admitting to need help isn’t failing,” he explained.
“It feels like it,” I told him, “I mean I have to physically go up to someone and admit I can’t do it by myself.”
“And why isn’t that perfectly fine?” he questioned, eyebrows furrowed.
I paused, “I don’t know…”
“You’re not built to know everything,” Jameson said, “if you were, you’d be like one of Xand’s creepy robot inventions and no offence but I’d rather not be dating one of those.”
I laughed, then sighed, “you’re right.”
“I know,“ he shot me a lopsided smile.
I rolled my eyes playfully, “alright don’t get too in your own head.”
“But my ego hasn’t swelled up to twice its size yet,” he pouted, green eyes twinkling.
“Suppose that’ll have to be a job for tomorrow,” I joked back.
“Yeah I’ll embarrass Gray and it should do the trick,” he winked.
“Don’t be mean,” I teased.
“I’m not,” he exclaimed, “I’m helping my ego flourish.”
“You and I both know that that does not need to happen,” I replied.
“How about we make a deal,” he said, suddenly changing the subject, looking a little too serious that I was used to from Jameson.
“What’s the deal?” I asked.
“Me and you have to promise each other that for at least an hour a day we plan an activity that takes our mind off of work and stress and life that we can do together,” he proposed.
“Okay,” I agreed, “yeah, I like that.”
“It can be as simple as taking a walk or as wild as skydiving,” Jameson said.
“We should do that again,” I smiled, remembering our last skydiving escapade for Jameson’s birthday. The photo was pinned to a board in our bedroom, it was one of my favourites.
“I second that, heiress,” he replied.
He kissed my cheek gently and it tickled a little. I giggled as his velvety lips touch my skin.
“I’ve got you no matter what, don’t you forget that,” he whispered in my ear.
I blushed, a flutter coursing through my body.
“I love you Jamie.”
“I love you more Avery.”

Misunderstandings
Alec x Fem! Reader
Summary: Reader is under the impression that her mate, Alec, wants nothing to do with her. He decides to prove her wrong.
Warnings:
Smutty, smut, smut, smut
Blood kink
Dom/Sub vibes
Alec speaking in Italian
I suck at summaries.
Word Count: 3,499
A/N: Requested by the ever lovely @rosedpetal Alec isn't as dark as I wanted him to be, but there's always next time. *wink, wink*
I remember the moment our eyes met. That luscious pull, full of want and desire. A red string of fate, pulling and pulling until finally, we were right there before each other. I had heard of him, of course. The witch twins had quite the reputation in the vampire world, just how they liked to keep it.
He simply stared, slightly taken aback and just as surprised as I was. To top it off, we were on opposite sides of what could have easily become a battlefield. I had been called in as a witness for the Cullens. I was somewhat of an anomaly. Only one of three known human and vampire hybrids, including Bella and Edward's child.
When Aro had extended his hand, it was all over. I was kindly invited to stay in Voltera, with Alec. Everyone was well aware of the fact that the invitation was more of an order, and I accepted. I had wanted to be near him anyways. Who wouldn't want to be near their mate?
Well, apparently mine.
I had been here for nearly three months, and he avoided me like the plague.
When we did speak, our conversations were short and stilted, and he usually wore a pained expression.
And then I heard the conversation.
I had been looking through the books on the upper floor of the library, hoping that considering all the books here, there was a section with modern day thrillers. I needed something to keep me sane.
I heard his voice from below.
"Master Marcus?"
"Alec." Marcus answered, voice soft.
"Is there any way to change it?"
I backed away from the railing slowly, pressing my back into the shelves. I could still see them both from my position, their silhouettes highlighted by the large fire in the center of the library.
"This is the second time you have asked me this, Alec." There was a warning in Marcus' tone that I had never heard before. "My answer has not changed."
"But she's part human!" Alec growled.
They were talking about me. I clasped my hands over my mouth in an effort to keep quiet, but I couldn't stop the tears. My mate didn't want me.
Marcus stood suddenly. "Be happy that you have a mate at all, boy."
Alec suddenly stiffened and looked right at me. Perhaps he smelled my tears, or maybe he finally heard the slow beat of my heart. A flurry of emotions flitted across his face, but I didn't bother to see what he landed on. Instead, I fled, for once using my vampiric speed to seek refuge in my room.
I've been hiding here for a week now. I think it's been a week; I was already losing track of time.
"Y/N?" There was a knock at the door, following the sound of Demetri's voice filtering through.
"Yes?"
"You're not naked, are you?"
The door opened slowly, and Demetri peeked his head in with a cheeky grin, before frowning as he took in the sight of me. I was sure I looked a hot mess, bundled up in a nest of comforters on the floor next to my bookshelves.
"Hey 'Metri." I sat up, giving him a small smile.
"Hey, love." He walked over before sitting on his haunches net to me. "Everyone is worried about you. No one's seen you in a week."
"'M fine."
He gave me a dubious look and I rolled my eyes and wrapped myself back up in my covers, picking up the book I'd discarded. "I'm fine, Demetri."
"When was the last time you ate?"
I paused, thinking and then shrugged. I couldn't remember. I just ate when I felt hungry.
"Well, we can't very well have you starve. Come on." He stood up and held out a hand.
"I'm fine, Demetri."
"And you're a liar, now come on."
I plopped down in my little nest out of frustration, purposely burrowing myself deeper into the covers.
"You can't make me."
"Wow, for someone who's- what? Sixty years old? You're such a child."
I glared up at him.
"I'm an adult and can take care of myself."
"Demetri, what are you doing with my mate?"
Demetri's back went ramrod straight and I immediately hid under the covers. Okay, maybe I was acting a little bit like a child. I hadn't spoken with Alec since the library incident, and I wasn't very keen to talk to him now. I peeked out from under the covers a little.
"I'm making sure that Y/N is taken care of." Demetri's voice was neutral, but I could hear the anger lying just underneath. "Something you have been failing to do since she arrived."
I gasped, wide-eyed. Demetri was treading on very thin ice. I couldn't imagine Alec taking too kindly to being challenged. Alec was quiet for a long moment, tense as he looked at Demetri.
"I can admit when I am in the wrong."
The words came haltingly, and the look on Alec's face was caught somewhere between a chastised schoolboy and sucking on a lemon.
"Thank you for taking care of her in my absence. Please leave, I can take over from here."
Demetri nodded his head, and casting one last concerned look in my direction, he left.
Alec looked at me, and I was surprised to see a look of concern on his own face. His next comment took me by surprise.
"Why are you on the floor, when you have a bed?"
"I'm aware I have a perfectly good bed. I just prefer the floor."
"What about the couch?"
"Not the same."
"That cannot be comfortable for you."
"Since when did you care about my comfort?" I snapped. "I'm just a mutt remember?"
Alec's eyes darkened.
"Watch your tone girl. You may be my mate, but I will not tolerate disrespect, even from you."
My shoulders deflated, hiding my face in my hands. "I think it'd be best for me to just leave."
"No." He followed Demetri's earlier move, and sat down on his haunches, arms resting on his knees.
"No?" I glared at him.
"You belong to me. You are my mate, and it is safer for you to be here."
"Excuse me?? You've made it clear that you don't want anything to do with me."
"It is simply because you are part human."
"Simply? Simply? News flash, Alec. You were once a human too!"
I found myself suddenly on my back, him hovering above me, with his arms caging me in. His eyes turned pitch black.
"I am all too aware of what I once was." He hissed.
"I- I can't change what I am." I could feel the tears starting to form and spill over. "If I could, if it would get you to accept me, then I would. But I shouldn't have to."
Alec jerked back slightly, wide-eyed.
"You are right." He pressed his forehead to mine. "And if I was a better man, I would not have wished for it."
He began licking away at my tears and I froze, barely daring to breathe.
"What- what are you doing?"
"Taking care of my mate. And you are mine. I will not let you go, and I will make sure that you are taken care of just as the status the mate of an elite guard deserves." I shivered when he finished, giving a small, chaste kiss to my forehead. "It seems that I have much to make up for."
Alec kissed me then. Slow and soft, pulling me out from the cocoon and sweeping me up to sit on the little couch in my sitting area. I felt oddly exposed as he pulled me in to straddle him, his back leaning into the soft cushions.
"And you- you accept me? Just like that?" I couldn't disguise the anger in my voice, a little thrown off by our new position but still pissed off.
There was a long silence as he searched for the proper words.
"That day, in the library… I had a long talk with Master Marcus. Are you aware of his story?"
I nodded. If there was something I had learned during my first few short months here, it was that Demetri and Felix were like a group of gossiping teenage girls.
"Then you can understand his demeanor. He misses her every day, and I know that I have neglected you and treated you rather…"
"Horribly?" I finished for him, and he smiled.
"I think horrible is an understatement."
"I think I must agree." I grumbled.
He let out a chuckle before letting his eyes roam over me again. "While I hold Master Marcus in high respect, I do not wish to be like him. I do not want to make the mistake of taking you for granted. You were made for me, and I you. The Fates do not make mistakes."
"Despite my being what I am?"
I found that hard to believe.
"Yes." He said quietly, but this time he didn't look me in the eyes.
I tensed around him, and I felt his grip tighten on my waist.
He was lying, but perhaps not for the reason I thought. My eyes widened in realization, and I relaxed against him.
"You know what I think?" I hummed quietly.
He looked at me from under his lashes, raising his brow ever so slightly, eyes dark with challenge. I should probably tread carefully but fuck it. I let a shaky hand run through his hair and he tilted his head back to look at me, exposing his throat. I let my other hand cup his neck, running my thumb along his jawline.
"I think that maybe… you're scared. And you have no idea how to handle it. That's what you ended up talking with Master Marcus about, isn't it? Because I'm weaker than a full-fledged vampire. Am I right? You think I can't protect myself."
Boom. Judging from the look in his eyes and the surprise on his face I had hit the nail on the head.
"You are oddly perceptive."
"Sometimes."
He paused again.
"I do not wish to lose you. I am sure word has already gotten out that one of the witch twins has a mate. I have basically painted a target on your back."
"One that I am more than willing to wear, so long as you never treat me like this again."
He relaxed and began to let his hands wander in light caresses, leaning in to give me another kiss, this one just as soft as the last.
"Never again."
"Good."
I could feel my heart swell.
"I have missed your presence." He whispered, his lips barely grazing mine. "I have missed seeing you in the castle." Kiss. "Seeing your beautiful face looking around in wonder." Kiss. "Seeing you laugh." Kiss. "And I have missed you. You have no idea how often I have imagined you here." Kiss. "In my arms." Kiss. "And even in my bed." Kiss.
Woah, woah, woah. What?
He grinned darkly at the look on my face. "Oh yes, darling. I have imagined you in my bed from the very beginning. In more positions than you could possibly imagine."
Had I not been pretty much immortal I think I would have died.
"I have imagined all of the different ways to claim you, and make sure that everyone knows you are mine." He whispered in my ear, nipping at my earlobe before sucking on it softly.
This is not where I pictured today going. I wriggled a little bit, feeling my nipples harden almost painfully. This was not fair.
"Careful, love." His voice was strained, and I felt him grow hard beneath me.
"You started it." I nearly squeaked.
"And I would like to finish it."
His hands were cold against my midsection, and I was suddenly very, very aware of the fact that I was dressed only in an oversized t-shirt and panties. He kept his eyes trained on my face, watching for every little reaction.
"If you don't want this, I can stop." He breathed, rubbing slow circles on my waist with his thumbs.
"Trying to come up with excuses, Alec?"
For whatever God forsaken reason I felt like needling him and pushing his buttons. A part of the back of my brain told me that was really fucking dumb, but I wanted to see what he would do.
He growled and squeezed my waist in warning.
"I think I recall telling you to watch yourself earlier."
Oh my.
"You said to watch my tone." I raised a challenging brow.
His hands dug into my waist now, and I was certain I would have bruises there in the morning.
"Amore." Another growl of warning.
I simply leaned in to kiss him, happy to finally have my mate here with me. Knowing that he didn’t really hate me but wanted to keep me safe. He was just being a dumbass about it.
He let out a little groan as our lips met. I let my kisses roam downwards, over his cheek and to his neck, nipping and licking. His hands drifted up, thumbing over my nipples before giving them a rather hard pinch. I sucked in a harsh breath, leaning on his shoulder and grinding my hips downward. He let out a pleasured hiss, giving my nipples another pinch and smoothing his thumbs over them.
"Arms up." He demanded.
I did as he asked, and he pulled off my shirt. I immediately crossed my arms over my ample bosom, suddenly self-conscious.
"Hands behind your back, darling."
I looked at him startled. "What?"
"I will not have you hiding from me, nor will I repeat myself."
My heart leapt at his words, gripping my arms tighter.
"Sorry, it's just…"
He frowned and slowly took my hands, lowering them down until I was completely exposed from the waist up.
"You are not to be ashamed, and I will not stand for it. You are my mate. You are stunning." He said softly.
He ran his hands over my skin again, his lips following right behind with a lightness that I almost couldn't detect. And not in a sexual way, although I could still feel his hardness underneath me, but in a reverent way. Worshipping. He cupped the back of my neck and brought me in for another kiss, deeper this time.
"Now love, hands behind your back. I will not tell you again." He rasped, one hand sliding around the front of my neck and the other brushing against one of my nipples.
He gave my neck a light squeeze in warning, his thumb brushing over my jugular. This time I did as I was told, and his lips twisted into a grin that could rival the devil's.
"Good girl."
I sucked in a breath. Oh fuck.
He kept watching me. "Are you okay?"
I nodded, a little dazed.
"You have to say it aloud, Y/N."
"Yes." I breathed.
"If we need to stop at any point, tell me."
"Okay."
"You are a fast learner, aren't you?" He leaned in, close to my ear. "I like that."
His hand left my throat, and he went back to cupping my breasts, kneading them softly before he bent his head and gave one a long lick, right over the nipple. Then he proceeded to suck one into his mouth, teeth edging along the sides.
"Alec." I moaned, throwing my head back.
I couldn't help it when my hips started grinding, but Alec immediately put a stop to that.
"The only pleasure you will get, is what I allow you to have."
A thrill went through me, and I opened my mouth to protest but it came out as a whine instead when he kissed me, tongue running along my lip and slipping past into my warm mouth. I then let out a shocked moan when his hands traveled further south, slipping his fingers into my panties and coming to rest on my soaked mound.
He rubbed teasingly, fingers finding my clit. Round and round and round. I squirmed against him, obscenely wet noises coming from below as he slipped two fingers inside me. His fingers began pumping in and out of me, combined with rubbing my clit, I could barely stand it.
Flushed, I pulled back a little, panting against his lips.
"Please." I whined.
"Please what?"
"Alec!"
"I want to hear you say it, Y/N."
"Alec. Please. Fuck. Me."
His eyes dilated at the sound of his name.
Before I could fully comprehend what was happening, I could hear the sound of something ripping, and realized that my panties were torn to shreds and dangling precariously from my hips. My warm, wet heat was exposed to the cool air, and his pants were undone, his cock out, with precum already leaking out of the tip. I panted like a whore in heat at the sight of him, eyes glazed and desperate.
He brushed his cock through my slick folds, completely in control. Then he slowly lowered me, my tight folds giving way and I let out a long moan of pleasure when he bottomed out. He was huge. I wasn't sure how he even managed to fit, or how he was going to be able to move. His arms circled around me, grasping my backside firmly.
"You managed to take my cock like a good girl. Now let's see how well you handle it."
"Wait, wait!"
He paused, looking up at me with concern.
"Can- can I move my hands now?" I pleaded.
He smirked. "No."
He thrusted his hips up without warning and I gave a shriek of pleasure. His pace was fairly brutal, and I loved every second of it. He kept sucking and licking at my neck, leaving a trail of dark, bruising love bites, and my nipples scrapped against his shirt. The pleasure was almost too overwhelming, it made the walls of my pussy clench around him.
"That's a good girl. So tight for me." He groaned into my neck. "How does it feel, taking my cock? To have me stretching you out?"
Oh fuuuuuck.
Alec was a dirty talker and I fucking loved it.
He pounded into me without mercy, and I could start to feel that delicious heat building down low.
"Yes. Yes. Yes."
I didn't realize that I had been chanting aloud until Alec let out a dark chuckle.
"Please." I begged.
He seemed to break.
"Hang on to me."
My hands immediately went to grab his shoulders, clutching at his shirt. I was pretty sure I heard a rip, but I was too lost in the sensation of being, you know, fucked out of my mind. One of his hands slipped down low again, his deft fingers circling my clit.
"Vieni per me, tesoro." He then proceeded to bite into my neck, right in the dip where it met my shoulder, and the sharp pain sent a wave of pleasure through me.
Mixing with the pleasure of his cock and the stimulation of my clit it was enough to send me crashing over the edge. I came hard, Alec's mouth muffling my own, swallowing my cries. His hands tangled in my hair, giving it a light pull. I could taste my blood in his mouth, and I found that I liked it. I swiped my tongue over his lips to get more.
Alec let out a surprised gasp, pulling back, his hips slowing down to shallow thrusts. His face was smeared with a little of my blood, and I leaned back in, giving him a lick before delving back into his mouth with a kiss, enjoying the taste of him and my blood mixed.
"Fuck." He groaned against my lips.
I dared to take a bit of control and ground down hard, making sure to squeeze the walls of my pussy to the point where he almost couldn't move.
"Fuck!"
Alec went rigid and then spasmed as he came.
We stayed like that, breathing hard for a moment, before he finally pulled out of me with an obscenely wet popping noise. I blushed and he simply gave me a grin. An actual grin instead of the devilish one I had come to know.
"Are you okay?" He asked and I nodded quickly, practically glowing with happiness.
"Words, amore."
I giggled. "Yes, love. More than okay."
"Good, because I'm ready to have you moaning my name again." He whispered, licking away the blood I had smeared on my own face. "Preferably in my bed."

Liar, Liar (Gavi)
Summary: Gavi thinks you’re cheating on him.

Gavi still remembered how alone he felt that day. It was the day of the semifinal for La Liga, one of the biggest games of his career, and one of the most important days of his life, and instead of being excited and focusing all his attention on the upcoming game, all he could think about was you.
Were you getting undressed for someone else right now? Did you even love him anymore?
He felt his heart tug painfully, and his mind wandered as he got lost in the what-ifs and maybes surrounding your relationship. Or lack thereof now he guessed.
Never in his life did he think he would ever be in this position. Growing up he had never loved anything as much as he loved football, and when he finally made Barca’s A team he swore he never would. However, that slowly started to change when you came into his life.
You were the cute girl next door, spending a year abroad in Barcelona and attending the same school as his hometown friends. The first time he had met you was when you were walking towards your apartment, hands filled with a random assortment of papers, textbooks, and chargers. The stack of textbooks partially obstructed your view and you missed a step causing you to go flying into the midfielder.
You let out a yelp as you hit the boy, papers falling to the ground.
“Oh shit. I’m so sorry! I didn’t see the step.” You frantically apologized, bending down to gather your things.
The boy stood still.
You looked up at him from the ground, “Oh my god you’re not hurt are you?” You asked, stressed about the fact that you could have injured the poor guy.
“I’m fine.” He said, finally bending down and helping you collect your things.
You both stood up and stared at each other for a second, unsure what to say before you broke the silence.
“I’m Y/n.” You said, hand outstretched to greet him.
“Pablo.” he introduced himself, reaching out to shake your hand, laughing at your formality.
You felt your cheeks turn red, “Sorry was that too formal? I’m still trying to learn the customs and stuff. Guess Google didn’t do a good job.”
The boy smiled at you, “No problem. I’m guessing you’re not from here then?”
You shook your head, taking a minute to adjust the various things in your arms, “No I’m an exchange student actually, from the States.”
Gavi nodded, “That explains the accent.”
Your cheeks turned even redder, “Haha yah. Still working on that.” You meekly responded, breaking eye contact.
Damn it. Barely one week in a new city and you were already known as an outsider.
It was silent after that and you took it as a sign to move on with your day, “Well thanks. And sorry again.” You said, beginning to walk past him.
“Let me help you.” Gavi said, turning to face you.
“Oh no worries, my apartment’s right here.” You gestured pointing to the door next to the one he had come out of.
“You’re Mateo’s neighbor?”
You looked at him surprised, “You know Mateo? Yeah, I live next door.”
He nodded, “We’re childhood friends.”
“So do you go here as well?” You asked.
The boy shook his head, “Nah, just visiting.”
“Ok well see you around I guess.” You said, waving bye.
He gave you a wave back.
“Oh, also most people carry bags around for their stuff here!” Gavi shouted at your retreating figure.
You spun around, seeing him facing you with a grin, both of you walking backward, “I got robbed!” You exclaimed.
Gavi felt himself let out a soft smile at the memory before his brain caught up to his heart and then he was drowning in heartache all over again thinking about what he had just lost.
“Joder!” Gavi yelled, his hand slamming against the locker as he saw the call go to voicemail again.
“You ok hermano?” Pedri asked, entering the empty locker room, finding the younger boy sitting on the bench, looking extremely upset, hands shaking, and breathing labored.
“I think- I think Y/N’s cheating on me.”
The words came out barely above a whisper, and Gavi ducked his head the second he said them, the situation hitting a hundred times harder now that he had admitted it to himself.
Pedri looked at him in shock.
When he had come into the locker room, looking for a very late Gavi, he hadn’t expected to find the midfielder not only unchanged but also in such a vulnerable state.
“Why would you say that?” Pedri spoke carefully, treading lightly, not wanting to make Gavi more upset.
Gavi pulled something up on his phone, handing it over. It was an Instagram story.
A video shared by your friend meant to share the club she was at, but also unknowingly sharing you in a very compromising position.
Pedri watched as the video panned to you in a black lace dress, drink in hand, as a guy twice your size leaned into you, hands possessively laid on your waist, pulling you into him far too close to be considered friendly.
You were only in the video for a second but there was no denying it was you. You were wearing the same dress you had worn for Gavi’s birthday dinner just a few months prior.
He bit his lip not knowing what to say. He thought it could have been a misunderstanding, but seeing the video he was beginning to doubt it.
He didn’t say anything handing the phone back to Gavi.
The boy looked up at him, eyes glistening, “You saw it too right?”
Pedri sighed, “Yah. I’m sorry Pablo.”
Gavi slowly nodded, turning away from Pedri as he fought to keep his emotions at bay.
“Fucking great. Now she won’t even answer me.” He muttered throwing his phone carelessly to the side.
“And what’s the matter with you two?” Xavi walked into the locker room, seemingly not pleased with how long it was taking the two to come out.
“Game starts in twenty and you’re both dilly-dallying like some preschoolers. Get moving. Gavi get changed.” He ordered.
“Coa-” Gavi began to speak, but Xavi cut him off.
“I don’t care. Deal with it later, game first. Out in five.” He pointed to both boys before walking out.
Pedri gave Gavi one last pat on the back, “Don’t think about it now. Focus on the game.”
“It’s the only thing I can think about.” Gavi admitted.
“How could she do this? Does she not care about me, about us?” Gavi’s voice wavered, and he took a sharp inhale trying to calm himself down.
Just talking about it was emotional. He couldn’t even imagine how having a conversation with you after would feel.
Would you pretend nothing had happened? Was this your way of letting him know you guys were over? Would he ever even get to talk to you again?
There were too many unanswered questions and Gavi felt himself getting overwhelmed as he considered the possibilities.
He grabbed his jersey, forcing himself into autopilot as he put it on. He felt like he was floating, watching over himself as he did all the things he was supposed to. He watched as he joined his teammates, listened to Xavi’s instructions, and took his place in the starting lineup.
Walking onto the field, even the thousands of cheering fans did nothing to interrupt his thoughts, all of them consumed with you.
He sang the anthem, and then before he knew it he was standing in the middle of the pitch, kicking the ball into play.
The first fifteen minutes of the game went as normal, he did everything he was supposed to, running to assist the attack whenever possible, and staying back whenever the opposition got too close to the goalpost. To everyone, he was playing exactly how he normally would, and while he was grateful that he didn’t seem to be costing his team too much, he would be lying if he said he was dedicated to the game, and he hated himself for that. Mentally he was still in the locker room, replaying the moment he had seen the post over and over again in his head, memorizing the way you had looked, in his favorite dress, pressed up against someone that wasn’t him. The pain was all-encompassing, something he had never felt before, and all he wanted to do was plead with you not to leave him, to love him like you had promised.
The referee blew his whistle, indicating a foul had been made. Gavi looked up at the noise being pulled from his thoughts, he squinted seeing something behind the shouting ref.
His breath hitched. Suddenly he was crashing back into himself. It felt like being soaked with ice-cold water while simultaneously being pricked by the same needle repeatedly.
He thought he was going to vomit.
Because there you were, like you always were, standing in the family section, in his jersey, a smile on your face as you waved down at him.
Based on the fact that you were even here he assumed you didn’t know he knew.
That for some reason got him angrier than he had ever been.
He clenched his jaw, shaking his head as he turned his back to you.
So you were just going to pretend. Go and hook up with random guys and then come back to him acting like an angel.
Your smile slowly fell, confused by his reaction. You were sure he had seen you, but his expression had been anything but happy. He looked pissed.
Anna, who was sitting beside you also noticed, “Why does he seem mad?”
You shrugged your shoulders, a frown on your face as you sat back in your seat, “I have no idea.”
Your brain raced through everything that had happened in the last few days, trying to pinpoint what you did for Gavi to be mad at you. You couldn’t come up with anything. You had just got back from France, spending the weekend away for your friend’s birthday, surely, he couldn’t be mad about that. You had already talked about it and he had practically shoved you out of his car when you had asked,
“Y/n I’m serious why would you even ask me that? Of course, you can go, I’m not going to control your life.” He exclaimed, shocked by your question.
You had asked him if he was okay with you going to spend the weekend with your friend in France, and he had been less than pleased with your question.
You laughed at his offended expression, pressing a kiss to his cheek, “I know, and I love you for that. I just wanted to double check though.”
He smiled softly, “Yeah, yeah. Now get out of my car I’m going to be late!”
You smiled at the memory, sure that he wasn’t mad at you for that. So then why did he not wave back?
You had missed his calls earlier this morning on purpose wanting to surprise him by coming to his game, but you never received a text from him saying anything was wrong.
The game continued, and you cheered along with the crowd.
Gavi was playing especially aggressively today, tackling players left and right, and shoving into them the moment they got the ball.
You bit your lip anxiously, you knew if he kept playing like this it was only a matter of time before he got a red card.
Your suspicions were confirmed not even ten minutes later when Gavi had slide tackled another player, sending them flying to the ground.
Immediately the whistle blew, bodies surrounding the two players as an argument broke out. You shot out of your seat, leaning over the railing to see Gavi standing in the middle. The player he had tackled had finally stood up saying something to him. In an instant, Gavi was shoving into the much larger player, screaming at him with such fury you would have thought he had just killed his family.
It only took a minute for the ref to make a decision and then he was holding up a red card for Gavi. The player in question let out a loud yell, eyebrows furrowed and jaw set.
You watched as he shook his head in anger, walking off the pitch, eyes blazing.
You tried to make eye contact with him, but he purposely avoided looking at the stands as he disappeared into the tunnels.
The other player got a yellow card but otherwise, everything continued as normal.
You sat in your seat for another five minutes contemplating what to do when Anna decided for you, “Aren’t you going to down and see him?” She questioned.
You nodded your head slowly, trying to fight off the feeling that something was wrong, “Yeah, I just wanted to give him some time to cool down, but I’m going now.”
You stood up, an uneasy feeling in your heart as you walked towards the locker rooms.
The guard let you in without question, used to seeing you after games.
You took small steps toward the locker room, why were you so nervous?
You heard a loud bang inside and instinctively rushed in, scared Gavi had hurt himself.
You found him sitting on the floor against the bench, hands wrapped around his legs, head buried in his chest as he rocked back and forth.
Your heart broke at the sight. He looked so vulnerable.
“Pablo.” You spoke.
Gavi’s head shot up and he looked at you with so much disdain that your guard shot 100 feet up, but you stood rooted in place.
“You cost me the game.” He spoke, voice thick with emotion.
“I’m sorry?”
“It’s your fault. You did this. You made me like this.”
“What? Pablo I don’t under-”
The boy cut you off, standing up, the hurt in his eyes had you reeling, “Of fuck off Y/n, you know what you did. Stop acting so innocent.”
You were stumbling over your words not used to seeing his gaze so venomous, “I do-don’t know what you’re ta-talking about.”
He laughed dryly at your words, taking a step closer to you, “Oh really so when you fucked that guy last night you weren’t thinking “Oh maybe this might hurt Pablo”, you were just thinking, “Eh what he won’t know won’t hurt him”. Well guess what? I know.”
Your throat went dry, your eyes widening at his words. He took your actions as confirmation.
“See you do know what I’m talking about it. We’re done Y/n I can’t believe I let myself love you.”
You stood in silence.
“Do you even love me?” His voice cracked as he looked at you.
He shook his head moving to walk past you, but you jumped into action, desperate not to let him leave. Your brain was still processing everything he said but you knew if you let him walk away now that would be the end, and you couldn’t let him leave thinking you didn’t love him.
You grabbed his wrist and he immediately spun around, glaring at you, “Don’t fucking touch me.” He seethed.
You relented, refusing to let go, “Pablo, please. Just listen to me. Don’t walk away!’ You pleaded.
“I don’t have to, you already did when you decided to fuck that random guy.” He yelled.
“I didn’t. I didn’t fuck him. I swear, baby just listen to me.”
“I’m not your baby.” He answered voice cold.
You felt his words hit you like a ton of bricks, and you physically took a step back from him, dropping his hand.
He didn’t move.
“I never cheated on you. I love you, you know I would never do that, you’re too important to me.”
His anger only bubbled, “Apparently, I don’t know anything. How are you going to deny it when there’s evidence?”
“Evidence what evidence?” You asked exasperated.
“Why don’t you ask your friend Angela? At least she did me a favor by posting you pressed up against someone else.”
The realization finally hit you. He must have seen you with the guy last night, that’s why he was so upset, and you not answering his calls this morning must have just fueled his suspicions.
You suddenly felt so tired, everything was falling apart, and you didn’t have it in yourself to scream at Gavi anymore.
You sighed, walking past Gavi dropping to the floor, leaning against the locker room door.
“What are you doing?” He questioned.
“Gavi, I know you’re mad but I’m not letting you leave until you let me at least explain myself, and if you still want to hate me after then that fine. But first, just listen please.” Your voice came out gentle, all the anger dissipated.
He shook his head in anger, “You can’t fucking trap me in here. Move out of the way Y/n. Now.”
You shook your head in resistance, “No. I know how you are; I know you feel so angry right now you can’t think straight. But I promise you if you just give me a minute, I’ll explain everything. I don’t want a miscommunication to be the reason you hate me.”
He was silently fuming, but he made no move to leave.
You continued, “I’m taking it you saw the video?”
Gavi didn’t say anything but by the way his hands balled into fists you knew you were right.
You nodded, “Ok, well it was me.”
You heard Gavi let out a scoff.
“That guy was pressed into me, but what the video didn’t show was me pushing him off me not even five seconds later, drunkenly yelling at him that I had a boyfriend that I loved very much, and who was much prettier than he was. I know it probably looks bad in the video, but he was just so much bigger than me that it took me a minute to fight him off.”
“Also, when he first came up to me, I genuinely thought he was asking me directions for the bathroom, not asking me to go with him.” You clarified.
It was silent.
“Why were your arms around him?”
“I was shoving him away. Obviously, I can’t do that with just my mind – no matter how much I want to.” You tried to lighten the mood, but Gavi only sighed.
Your shoulders deflated; he didn’t believe you.
You moved to the side of the door, “You can leave.” Your voice was barely above a whisper.
Gavi spared you one last glance before he walked out the door, leaving you alone in the locker room.
Your eyes watched him leave and the second the door shut behind him you covered your mouth with your hands, shoulders shaking as you let out the sobs you had been holding in.
Is this what being heartbroken felt like? Sure, you had relationships that end in the past on less-than-stellar terms, but never had you felt like this. Like you couldn’t breathe, like every small breath was squeezing your body, leaving you with no oxygen and an unbearable feeling in the pit of your stomach.
You sniffled, trying to pull yourself back together. You had to leave before the game ended and the team came back.
You were in the middle of wiping your tears when the door swung open again.
“Fuck this, I’m not leaving. I took five steps before I realized how stupid I’m being. I believe you. I trust you – but it’s just so hard because my mind is screaming at me to leave but all my heart is thinking about is how I’m letting go of the most real thing I’ve ever felt, and I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I left you like that all alone.” Gavi spoke, voice firm as he came to sit next to you.
You looked over at him with wide eyes, “You came back?”
He nodded, his Adam’s apple bobbing, as he scooched closer to you, “I always will.”

A Good Liar
Shanks x gender neutral reader. Platonic. 744 words. 'thought' "speech"
You and Shanks walk through town, you’re lesser known so you don’t have to wear any disguises but Shanks is wearing a cloak to avoid anything happening. A fight isn’t a problem, but it’s a bother. He puts the hood down to let his hair air out, it’s humid so it’s a bit suffocating having it on. When he’s airing it out a civilian notices. Shanks looks at them and they slowly pull out a transponder snail, before your captain can knock them out in public you stop him and walk to the person. “Noticed you saw us.” You say and they nervously put their hands up. “Relax, this happens kinda often, just came to clear things up. You think he’s Red-Haired Shanks, yeah?” You point back at Red-Haired Shanks who keeps a straight face watching you.
“No I didn’t- I mean-”
“No it’s fine, but he isn't. Sorry for the confusion, that’s why he usually wears the hood when he’s out. It’s easier than having to explain it to every person who misunderstands. The civilian looks confused, looking to Shanks who quickly changes his expression from also confused to a nervous smile while putting his hood back up.
“Huh? Not him?”
“Yeah my friend gets confused for him kinda often, the Marines have been starting to get kinda pissed off since they keep getting called for false alarms. It’s kind of a shit coincidence they look alike, especially since he lost an arm during a construction accident years ago even before Red Hair lost his arm.” Shanks stares at you as you speak, trying to keep his expression while he watches you shamelessly lie to this person.
“But the scar, and the facial hair?” You only take a split second before coming up with more.
“Ah, man.” You put a hand to your head like you’re annoyed. “Sorry, it's not your fault. He keeps his facial hair like that because it looks nice, I mean Shanks kinda has the attractive ruggish look yeah, though would be better if he weren’t a criminal doppelganger of my friend. For the scar, well look closer.” You pull his hood down and the civilian puts his transponder snail away. “Hair’s a bit more orangey, and his scar’s on the wrong eye.” Shanks’s hair just looks like that from the afternoon sun, and the scar part is just a straight up lie. However, memories can be slightly altered and the person starts to look unsure.
“True, Red Hair is said to have completely red hair…” They stare at Shanks who’s biting the inside of his cheek to stop a smile.
“It is. You can call Marines if you want but they’re not gonna do anything except ruin me and my friend’s outing and probably yell at you.” You say, the civilian looking unsure.
“It is on the wrong eye..” Gaslighting works wonders, especially with fear of being wrong.
‘They bought that!?’ Shanks almost widens his eyes but keeps it in.
“Looks older too.” They add.
‘Ouch.’ Shanks closes his eyes in pain.
“Shoot, I’m really sorry.” You did it, they apologize and you pat the person’s back while looking into their eyes.
“It’s okay, I just don’t like wasting the Marines’ time nor do I want to get you in trouble.” You say, having a sympathetic look on your face like you actually care. The person nods and you motion for Shanks to put his hood back up, which he does. After that you share a few pleasantries, joking about the “first few times” your friend got “mistaken” as Shanks. Charismatic conversation and a few words from Shanks with him changing his voice a bit is all it takes until you two leave completely safe. Once you two get somewhere more private Shanks puts a hand on his face and crouches down, bursting out into laughter. You’re shameless, absolutely and utterly shameless.
“Construction accident? O-On the wrong eye?” Your captain stutters in between laughs as you smile.
“Hey, it was for the greater good. Aren’t you glad I'm good at improvising.”
“Improvising my ass, you’re a straight up liar!” He manages to stand back up straight, still cracking up a bit as he wipes a tear from his eye.
“We’re leaving this place tomorrow morning anyway, doesn’t matter.” You say with a shrug.
“Good to have you on my side, I’m never playing poker with you again.” He pats you on the back.
“Darn.” You snap your fingers.
