ok ok, you gotta tell us more about the non-horse thing you saw please please please there are so many horse legends and I’m bhrhehehdhdhehhshdhsus
SHOW ME THE KELPIEEEEEE
Ok ok ok, so it’s not a kelpie lol (thankfully, as I 100% would have walked up to it and tried to befriend it and most likely would have DIED-)
A not-horse I can’t exactly explain, the eyes look almost human and the face and legs are just wrong, they stare at you when you walk through the aisles of the barn and won’t stop until you are out of sight, their tails don’t flick and they rarely attract any flies without wearing any bug repellent, when you walk past their stalls you hold your breath without noticing it until later, if you try to tack one up you just start shaking and anxiety spiking, if you are walking one from the pasture to inside you get the sense that you should be running away and not walking alongside it, all horses are smart enough but these seem more strangely intelligent and it just pushes in the back of your mind that this is a not creature you should have or mess with.
It just seems all wrong, I can’t explain it exactly and I can’t draw it if I tried, just something was off and as someone who has been around horses my entire life that is not normal behavior even when they are sick. And getting the sense that you don’t know what this creature can do or think or knows about you is terrifying.
I have 6 other friends who have told me a story similar and I didn’t even ask, they just brought it up and were like “hey… what do I do?” Told them to leave the barn as soon as they can and tell one of the instructors that the horse is acting weird and shouldn’t be ridden or messed with today, and check for sickness tmr if the behavior doesn’t change.
My aunt, my cousin, my uncle, my grandpa, have all told me stories similar on different occasions aswell, I’ve also heard of a not-deer from my aunt and not-mountain lions from my uncle. (He works in a lot of areas where you can encounter mountain lions, this man is so damn lucky he isn’t dead or hurt)
Also, not-animals are not skinwalkers. They are something else, it is not the same. If you are unlucky enough to have seen or near a skinwalker you know there is a difference, skinwalkers give you a sense of being hunted and killed from what I’ve heard. (I may have seen one, but I do not know if it was a skinwalker or just my anxiety medicine wearing off)
No idea whether not-animals ever were animals or they are creatures that are able to mimic but just wrong, but I do know they exist.

Name: All the Snail Badniks!
Debut: Sonic the Hedgehog (series)
Yeah! All of them! All four of them. Badniks are without a doubt some of the greatest video game enemies of all times, being funny robots based on animals, and most often invertebrates, at that! At least in the early games, each installment brought a whole new cast of Badniks to replace the previous game’s, leading to quite a diverse overall selection, and multiple models to fulfill the same role, or be based on the same creature. It is wonderful!
So what I am getting at is, there have been in four separate games, four unique snail-based Badniks, and we will go over each one today! And if you are wondering about the image at the top of the post, it is just a robot snail stock image. It’s pretty great. I had to include SOME kind of robot snail there, to not spoil any of the ones in the post, and to not show any bias! And also, Sonic is there, urging you to get a load of this snail robot. But enough of that, it is time to begin!
Name: Noro-Noro
Debut: Sonic the Hedgehog CD
First we already have my favorite of the snails! Isn’t it a darling? I know I said I didn’t want to be biased earlier but, I can’t resist when Noro-Noro is here. It has perfect proportions, perfect innocent eyes, and a lovely color scheme! Its spikes maybe give it a bit of a punk rock vibe, which it may or may not be aware of. It just squirms, first and foremost.
Isn’t that shell so neat? It’s like a tire or a fan or something! This is certainly no ordinary shell, and not one it could retract into. Noro-Noro is clearly designed for snail aesthetic for the sake of looking like a snail, not for any particular snail abilities! Real snails don’t have retractable shell spikes yet.
Name: Snail Blaster
Debut: Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Next, we have the most well-known! Snail Blaster was originally known as Snale Blaster for some reason, but I kind of like it. It is weird, but it sounds the same and makes it distinct. Snail Blaster crawls on walls, and do you know what it does? It blasts! It shoots a Blast at a 45 degree angle.
Snail Blaster is the go-to snail Badnik, and one of the lucky bunch of Badniks that gets to appear quite often these days, along with other classics like Moto Bug! It looks so much like a toy here. I can feel its plastic. While I do like Noro-Noro more, Snail Blaster’s wall-crawling, shell-blasting behavior is much more snail-like, so I agree with it being the main snail Badnik, if any must be.
Name: Snail
Debut: Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Our third snail has the most intriguing backstory of all! Chronologically, this WOULD be the very first one, but it was sadly scrapped from the final game! It is included third in this list because it WAS included in the debug mode of the mobile port of Sonic 2, released in 2013! This snail has a wheel and a flaming exhaust pipe, so you know it is a FAST snail, and indeed, it speeds up upon seeing the player!
I am amused by this concept art where you can tell they just really wanted to include a snail. No indication yet of how it would act, but you just need a robot snail sometimes. Really, Snail is rather similar to Noro-Noro, with its wheel motif, spikes, and yellow body! I wonder if it is intentional.
Name: Canister
Debut: Sonic Mania
Finally, we have the newest snail in town, and actually the first I ever truly encountered, with Mania being my first Sonic game with a snail in it! And what a splendid introduction this is! I love its colors. I love its ventriloquist dummy-like mouth. And I love its concept! Its name is very straightforward, as it is based on a film canister, fitting the production studio theme of Studiopolis Zone! Not only is the canister its shell, bit look at its back- the end of its “foot” is represented by a bit of film real, not even really an extension of the front part of the snail! What an awesome design this is!
Canister is not only a snail, but even fills the role of Snail Blaster, crawling on walls and shooting projectiles, albeit with different properties. They really didn’t need to make a whole new funny snail robot to replace an old funny snail robot they could have easily used instead. But they did! And that is wonderful!
I hope you like all these snails as much as I do! And just for fun, why not vote on this poll for your favorite? I am interested in seeing the results! And don’t let my own biases sway you, be true to your own favorite snail!

What’s your take on The Pale King as a romantic yandere?
ooo now this. This is what we should be asking. /lh
So I’ve been doing your asks in a non-hc format, but let me know if you want those!
WARNINGS: Yandere behavior, slight stalking, obsession, single mention of being eye candy, and abduction.
I think this would be an incredibly sticky situation. If there’s one thing we’ve seen from Pale King’s character, it’s that he takes what he wants. And if he doesn’t get what he wants, then he sends the hounds after what stops him. For this to work, you’d definitely have to encounter the Wyrm at some point. Meaning either you fought your way up to his personal court, bumped into him in the city/your stomping grounds (since he’s probably been everywhere) or even met him before he became king.
Let’s start with you knowing him before he became king. Wandering in these weird dusty cliffs was just temporary, you continued to convince yourself. The way the grey dirt got stuck in your throat if you breathed without a face cover made your shell itch, and made you wish it was a physical enemy you could beat down. The cliffs of course had their charms, with hoppers hanging around your legs as you walked. However, the further your traveled down, you started to notice some light…snow? It squished under your feet instead of crunched like the usual, and seemed akin more to stark white ashes than snow. Your attention drifted though when you saw a bug stumbling out the mouth of some beast. Rushing forward without a thought as to how it got out, you allowed it to lean on you. Their light was almost blinding, forcing you to squint as their sharp prongs almost caught your face. “Thank you…you’re…too kind…” The poor thing struggled with its words, a hacking cough starting up immediately after. You managed to drag it all the way back to your camp, with him finding stability in his legs along the way. He introduced himself to you as simply Wyrm, explaining he preferred, “using him with me is fine. If anything, you may address me in any way you like. I owe it to you after dragging me out of my corpse back there.”
“What do you mean, ‘your’ corpse?”
“…sorry, simple mistake. Still coming too after that whole…incident. May I ask what title I shall call you by?”
“Of title, I own none. But you may call me by…”
The conversation trailed off from there, soon the two of you finding comfort by a measly fire you built. Though it paled in comparison to his light, which you were tempted to prod at him about. Holding your tongue, you instead found yourself deep in philosophical discussion with the strange bug. He still leaned gently into you, one of his many hands finding solace in your own. You chose to let Wyrm be for now.
Come daylight, you two had begun the trek back into the barren land, your companion remarking on how this would make brilliant territory under the right leadership. A chuckle rumbled your chest and startled him, seemingly in a trance at your laughter. “It would take a god to create a kingdom out of this land. Find me them, and I’ll stay with you the rest of my days. You can be my lucky charm.” A faint heat brought itself upon his face, thoughts of those days spent with you overwhelming him. Well, if he truly wanted to rule this land, he would need a partner to support him…
“Just you wait. I’ll show you the beauty that we could make here.”
With a darling he met from his rebirth, he’d become quickly obsessed. This man is seeing the wonders of the kingdom from new eyes, and to have someone to take those first steps with and even explore his new home with would be emotionally overwhelming. He’s falling fast and hard and there’s no way he’s going to let the stress of building a civilization up from the ground stop him. Dedicates his days to seeing you smile, to hearing that lovely laugh again. Even if he didn’t meet you upon the first time his eyes reopen, he pretty much vibes the same. Strives only to spoil you with the highest of riches and treatment.
Now if you fought your way up to his court, then by this time he would’ve married Root. Now he loves his wife dearly, but he can’t just leave his most noble knight stranded and stuck in the barracks. The King would’ve watched you for a long time, hand picked you to be by his side. Honestly, you turn into a sort of eye candy. He gives you high respect and his love, but he does like to dress you up and show you off. Unlike his first meeting, where he’d keep you in private and spend his days lounging with you, in this meeting he’d spar with you. Eagerly entering your lavish room in the morning, piling on top of your sleeping form and waking you with breakfast. Rants about how he’s got new techniques to teach you, and how he’s tempted to see if he can train you to be intunned to soul usage. Root would nod politely as you were forced into the sparring room, PK’s hands already flexing as he summoned his weapons. He’ll personally heal any wounds he gives you of course, most caused by his blind overexcitement. Kisses them better and then drags you off to spend the rest of the day with root and him. Is just generally really happy to have someone added to the couple, including someone he can spar with. None of the cruelty he shows to independent kingdoms and thriving lands he can’t steal will be shown to you.
Now as for bumping into him on the streets, you’d probably found some secluded area to quiet your mind in. He wandered in there, hoping it was private and a way to escape his adoring populace. The two of you conversed shortly, him finding rest in you not gushing about him. Don’t get the wyrm wrong, he respected his people, but they could be overwhelming. It was nice to just have a conversation sometimes. Encourages you to return here on the daily, and also returns himself. Gets flustered if you aren’t there, eventually tracking down your house to have tea in private. Soon forcibly moves you into his home. If you’re a traveler however, he offers you to rest in his palace. Has you personally escorted there and then proceeds to fool you into never leaving. “One more day, just one more day for your tired bones. It must be exhausting to move around all the time. I can show you more wonders here than you will ever see in those dusty trails.” He’d chant, as he pushed you with all his hands back into the palace, buried in the halls, into your bed chambers.
So sorry that this one took a while! I took a short break to find inspiration for his character and exactly how to write him. Thank you for your patience!

[HOME] IS WHERE THE AVATAR IS [PT.3]
HOME MASTERLIST
SUMMARY: Iroh has been kidnapped, and by the time they get him back, they’re chasing after the Avatar before Y/N has time to unload all her problems to the old man over a nice cup of tea. Which is a shame since the list of problems is getting longer by the minute.
WORD COUNT: 5k
WARNINGS: violence, mentions of death, threats
A/N: woo!! its 1AM lads life is good and i hope this is also good <3
Iroh was missing. It didn’t take a genius to figure it out, the old man, no matter how questionable he was at times, was punctual. Y/N had yet to see him late to anything and she sincerely doubted he was going to start now, especially since Zuko had reminded him, rather rudely, that they had to leave soon if they were to catch the Avatar. Following Zuko through the forest, Y/N quickly realized that Zuko was not a genius.
Of course, if Zuko was a genius, Y/N wouldn’t be around. Her whole purpose since she’d been in the Fire Nation was to serve as his right hand, to be the things he couldn’t. If Zuko couldn’t do something, then she would, thats why they complimented each other so well. When he’s incapable of fighting, she beats enemies with ease. Where he lacked a strategic mind, she could develop revolutionary strategies, similar to the ones Zhao had referred to during their last encounter.
The man had clearly gotten under Zuko’s skin, and it seemed something about this was still bugging Zuko. Y/N had noticed his... odd behavior. He’d seemed far more withdrawn than normal, their late night talks had been far less frequent than normal. Of course, they were also no longer in the privacy of the ship, instead camping out in war torn territory of the Earth Kingdom. This left a weird atmosphere between them, and it was mostly Zuko’s fault, though Y/N probably should’ve confronted him when she first noticed. She was beginning to miss their conversations, and the more relaxed Zuko that only she saw. Now, it seemed that each time they interacted he was becoming far more awkward than normal.
Sighing as she trailed behind him, and calmly walking throw the brush of leaves in stark opposition to Zuko’s rather aggressive walk, Y/N simply sighed. “Zuko, perhaps you would get there faster if you didn’t spend all your time fighting the trees.” She gives him a sarcastic smile, eyes narrowing at him as he turns back to look at her, as though he’d finally been reminded she was nearby.
Zuko frowns, coming to an abrupt stop, “come here.” They were nearby the ‘hot spring’ Iroh had discovered, or more accurately, made. In the event that Y/N was wrong, a ‘rare’ event in her words, Zuko needed to take precautions, he would not allow Y/N to see his Uncle like that.
“Why?” Y/N asked incredulously, moving to enter the area, but Zuko yanks her back by the wrist.
She turns to look at him, just to have her eyes covered by his hand, “just in case.” He explains, taking her hand in his free one and guiding her to the hot spring. Zuko is suddenly glad that he has a hand over her eyes, because if Y/N could see him, she definitely would’ve started teasing him by now, especially since he can feel his cheeks burning as he pulls her along.
“I think you just wanted and excuse to hold my hand.” Y/N teases, a grin spreading across her face. Zuko had always been like this, protective, even when they were children and as far as he knew, she was anything but his equal. Y/N had always found it funny, seeing as she could easily handle herself in a fight, not that this fact ever stopped him.
Though she can’t seen Zuko, Y/N has a feeling he’s blushing as he grumbles out, “shut up.” He’s pushing through the final bushes, and when he freezes Y/N knows her theory was right. Zuko’s hand releases hers and Y/N dislikes the way she feels disappointed when it does, his other hand falling from her eyes to reveal the once prosperous hot spring was now sullied by raised earth.
Iroh is missing. And Y/N can’t help but feel worried as she stares at the scene, if the apparent Earthbenders caught him by surprise it’s no wonder he didn’t escape. Iroh, no matter how docile he may act, was a force to be reckoned with. Now it didn’t take a genius to figure out that it was Earthbenders, which probably explains why Zuko points it out so quickly.
Or maybe he just doesn’t need Y/N anymore. The thought brings about an odd feeling, one that Y/N can’t describe. She’d been by his side for as long as she could remember, and the thought had never crossed her mind, that one day she might not be by his side, one day he might not need her anymore. The possibility was bringing about several emotions, and now she was missing the one person she’d go to for counsel.
Counsel she definitely needed at the moment, seeing as she’d intertwined their destinies, as Zuko put it, permanently. There would be no getting rid of her.
Her list of problems was growing by the minute, and Y/N finds herself wishing that it was her list of excuses instead, seeing as she was going to need several excuses if he found out anytime soon. Iroh was missing, taken by Earth Kingdom soldiers, likely to be executed in the very city he’d once tried to overthrow. And Y/N had yet to even get any idea of how to handle Airbending, much less tell Zuko about it. Not that she could if she wanted to, seeing as he’d been avoiding any prolonged conversations with her.
And yet Y/N find herself grabbing Zuko’s hand, bringing his attention back to her and away from the thought of his missing Uncle, the man who had practically raised him. Though Zuko didn’t act like it, he cared for Iroh, and Y/N could see it in the way his body stiffened as he cursed his Uncle for his foolishness. “Everything is fine.”
This was a mess. Nothing was fine. Everything was pretty chaotic, actually.
That’s how Y/N ended up riding a Komodo Rhino in search of the old man, Zuko seated behind her as they made their way down the path. He was honestly way more stressed about the situation than he should’ve been, his Uncle was once a war general, he was perfectly capable of taking care of himself. Except, Zuko found the fact that he’d been captured in the first place rather concerning, especially since the man seemed to be more and more passive each day.
Zuko blamed the tea.
Though he found himself wishing for tea to calm his nerves as they the Komodo Rhino stumbles slightly, causing Zuko to fall off the animal entirely. This was mostly because he was far too awkward to place his hands anywhere near Y/N’s body, despite her warnings that something like this would happen.
Y/N brings the beast to a stop, dust rising as she maneuvered the animal towards Zuko, followed by guards that she was sure were struggling to stifle their laughs as Zuko grumbled, “go ahead and say I told you so.” He’s practically glaring at Y/N, who dons an amused look on her face as she stares down at him.
“Told you so.”
Zuko groans, allowing his head to hit the ground momentarily, wincing at the feeling before moving to stand, only to notice a shoe on the ground. One that he recognizes as his Uncle’s. Moving to pick it up, Zuko grins despite the putrid smell as he extends his hand outward to try and escape it. “I fell on purpose to retrieve this.” He couldn’t help but feel relieved, hopefully this was a sign from his Uncle, and he’d dropped the shoe on purpose.
Y/N is laughing now, “sure you did. But this is good, Iroh is probably nearby.” Her eyes scan the area, hoping to find some other indication of Iroh’s presence, Y/N notices the fading trail of Ostrich Horse tracks. “We should head in this direction,” she turns to Zuko, who is dusting himself off and climbing back onto the Komodo Rhino, “hold on this time.” Y/N says, giving him a tight lipped smile as she brings his hand to her waist, trying to ignore the way her cheeks warmed.
She whistles, signaling for the Komodo Rhino to begin to move again, while Zuko begins to panic internally. His hands were on Y/N’s waist, and he was trying to keep his touch as light as possible so as not to disturb her, but the way she glared at him suggested he should stop freaking out. Alas, the blush that painted his cheeks persisted as he wrapped his arms around her waist to keep from falling, that was the only reason he wrapped his arms around her. It wasn’t because he missed being around her— of course the lack of her presence was mostly his fault since he was avoiding her.
Regardless, Y/N almost falters at this action, almost, at the feeling of his hands resting on her. It’s been a while since they were this close to each other, and Zuko had no choice to endure it. But, it’s the sight of a dragon along with the Avatar in the sky that causes her mouth to gape open, distracting her from steering the Komodo Rhino away from the upcoming cliff.
Zuko throws his hands forward, snatching the reins from her as he swerves the animal away from the cliff, his body enveloping Y/N’s as he breathes heavily from the sudden event. “What the hell was that?” He exclaimed, hands remaining on the reins as he continued to maneuver the animal. Though the look on Y/N’s face worries him as she nods absently.
“Nothing, it was nothing.”
Nothing didn’t cause you to nearly go off a cliff. But he’d discuss that with her later, he decided, noticing the Avatar’s Sky Bison flying through the sky. “The Avatar!” Zuko called out, bringing the Komodo Rhino to a stop entirely as he watched the Sky Bison fly across the sky.
His words brought Y/N’s attention back to the present, her eyes snapping over to the Sky Bison. Zuko may not have known it, but Aang definitely wasn’t on that Sky Bison, or maybe his body was. Y/N didn’t know how the whole spirit thing worked, and if she was honest, she wasn’t really to eager too find out. Regardless, it would be a pointless chase.
Yet she suddenly felt worry fill her, because Y/N truly didn’t know if Zuko was willing to abandon his Uncle if it meant capturing the Avatar and restoring his honor. Would he do that to her? Abandon her entirely if it meant going back to the Fire Nation? Sure, he’d left behind the possibility of returning when they’d discovered her Waterbending, but with his renewed determination Y/N couldn’t help but wonder if she would get left in the dust as he chased the Avatar across the globe.
The thought left her mouth dry as she looked to Zuko, who had paused, eyes following the Sky Bison. Then he scowled, hands still on the reins of the Komodo Rhino as he whistled, steering the animal in the direction of the fading Ostrich Horse prints.
Y/N couldn’t help but feel flooded relieved, but that didn’t quell the anxieties within her. She’d seen... an intangible Avatar and dragon, as though they were ghosts, spirits even. This was a brutal reminder of the Avatar’s duty to bridge the worlds of spirit and human, Y/N had only read stories of the Avatar’s ability to enter the realm and interact with them. It was an ability she thought she lacked, until now.
This was a problem. A very big problem.
Letting out a shaky breath, Y/N shut her eyes momentarily, “what’s wrong?” Zuko asked, her behavior was abnormal, she was distracted and Zuko didn’t have time to worry about her, his Uncle and the Avatar.
Hesitantly, Y/N relaxed against him, her back resting against his chest as she frowned, “later.”
“Right.” Comes his response, and Zuko’s face was burning as he cleared his throat before continuing to guide the Komodo Rhino in the direction of the tracks.
They don’t discuss it later, mostly because ‘later’ is when Zuko finds himself saving his Uncle, and then threatening villagers for the Avatar’s location while Y/N threatens him for his violence. It wasn’t an uncommon occurrence, much to Y/N and Iroh’s dismay.
If Y/N was honest, she wasn’t shocked that they didn’t have time to discuss it. Seeing as they didn’t discuss the fact that she was capable of bending multiple elements, confrontation was certainly not their strong suit, and the fact that everything seemed to revolve around the Avatar wasn’t helping. At this point, home was wherever Aang went.
What Y/N would give for a conversation with Aang right about now, not that she knew what to say. He had no idea what she was capable of, and yet Aang seemed to be the only person who would likely understand even a fraction of what she was going through.
Barreling through the Fire Nation barricade, filled with ships that Y/N recognized from General Zhao’s fleet, it appeared Y/N would be giving her life just to see Aang again. She was beginning to think that this was the worst idea Zuko had ever had, and she’d been there for a lot of foolish ideas. Especially since there was no reason for Zhao to let Zuko pass, unless he needed something, that something was likely the Avatar. Y/N was pretty sure she needed him too, now that her Airbending at shown itself, accidents were becoming more... frequent, and hiding it from Zuko and more importantly, the crew, was far more difficult.
Aside from control, Y/N couldn’t deny that Aang’s abilities were impressive, watching him block a ball of fire surging towards his Sky Bison had been a sight to behold. And she couldn’t help but consider how insane it was, that she was seeing the only Airbender left, the only demonstration of Airbending in over one hundred years.
Poor kid. He’d come back to a mess of a world.
Y/N finds herself frowning at the thought, and at the possibility of Zuko departing on another ship to go after Aang, who appeared to be heading for the Fire Sage’s temple, “are you serious?”
Zuko is rolling his eyes at her tone, already boarding the ship as he turns to her, “are you coming, or not?” He’s taking the helm as Y/N’s mouth gapes open, struggling for words, she follows him onto the ship nonetheless.
“This could go very wrong.”
He grins at her, and the smaller ship begins to move, hidden by the smoke of the larger one, “that’s why I have you around.”
Y/N really wanted to wipe the grin off his face as she sat on the bench that was against the railing of the ship. Crossing her arms, she glared at him as she leaned back, eyes on the crashing waves below. It’s rather calming, especially when compared to the harsh environment they’d been living in while moving through the war torn Earth Kingdom territory. She’d gotten used to falling asleep to the rocking of the boat during their years of travel. Maybe that’s why Y/N’s eyes begin to flutter shut as the boat begins to move once more.
There’s a dragon. Why is there a dragon?
The sight of the beast serves as a reminder of the tattoo she’d seen in her previous ‘dream’ though Y/N can’t help but wonder if they were a little more than that as she stares at the dragon. It looks exactly like the one she’d seen Aang riding not too long ago.
This was a dream, great.
Rolling up her sleeve, the tattoo is there, the black and white dragons snaking up her arm, parallel to each other. Y/N finds herself returning her gaze to the real dragon, which probably should’ve shocked her more, except there was a reason she was a talented Firebender.
Whenever a Firebender sought out to earn the title of Dragon, they needed a witness, someone who saw the defeat of the Dragon and could serve as proof of the event. The Dragon of the West, otherwise known as Iroh, had selected the young and impressionable, Y/N L/N, viewing it as a learning experience for the young girl. Y/N thought she was going to see the end of the species, not it’s salvation, and perhaps that’s why she was the way she was.
Nothing could compare to what she’d seen in that fire, alongside Iroh.
The dragon before her looks angry nonetheless, almost annoyed at her presence as though it wasn’t the weird thing about this whole dream, a translucent blue color, like this was completely normal.
Y/N ends up glaring at the dragon as she asks, “what do you need?” And as though it can sense her own annoyance, the dragon releases a low growl in response, letting out a huff of flames onto Y/N that almost has her screaming in fear as she squeezes her eyes shut in preparation for death. Could you die in a dream? Y/N didn’t really want to know seeing as normal dreams didn’t involve historical events like her last one did.
She opens her eyes to see the flames dissolving around her, but she’s in an entirely new area. If Y/N is honest, it looks similar to the palace she grew up in. Fancy pillars line the room, along with a few murals on the walls.
This must’ve been what the dragon had flown Aang to when they were... spirits? Y/N didn’t know, nor did she understand much as she carefully moved around in the room, in the middle of it lied a statue of Avatar Roku, she recognized him from history books. The Fire Nation’s greatest enemy, that had once been its pride and joy.
The dragon still stood in the room, behind her now, staring almost judgmentally at her, Y/N turns to it nonetheless, “this is what you showed Aang.” A huff in what she hoped was agreement, “I need to be here too.” She deduced, staring the the doors that lied behind the dragon.
It seemed satisfied with this deduction, and Y/N decided to continue, “mind explaining the tattoo?” She gestures to her arm.
In response, the dragon allowed more fire to escape its mouth, causing Y/N to bring her arms up to shield her face as she yelped in surprise when she became engulfed in flames.
Y/N flinches in her seat, head whipping back and forth as she scans the area, just to realize they made it to the island. “Oh good, you’re awake.”
Stupid dragon.
Y/N nods slowly, hand gripping her arm, which burns, and she’s unsure if that’s because she literally got burnt in the dream, or because of the tattoo. Y/N can’t help but let out a shaky breath as she blinks a few times, eyes adjusting to the light as she sits up, “yeah.” She mumbles, pulling up the sleeve of her Fire Nation clothing just to find her blank arm. No tattoos, just how she’d left it. She can feel Zuko’s eyes rest on her as she does, likely in confusion.
Regardless, this is good. There’s no tattoo. Sure, Zuko probably thinks she’s insane, but who cared what he thought?
“I don’t understand how you feel asleep.” The boy in question grumbles, “have you not been sleeping?” It’s his own way of showing he cares, an insult followed by a question about her wellbeing, Y/N is used to it at this point, but this time around she can’t help but feel sad, knowing he formed this habit because of his childhood. Things had been different once. He’d been different once.
As Zuko helps her out of the boat, taking her hand to help her step down and off of it, Y/N replies, “not really.”
His brows furrow at this, “why didn’t you tell me?”
Y/N is opening her mouth to respond only for an explosion to sound within the temple, tearing his attention away from her.
What a nice reminder that she wasn’t the priority. Again.
Maybe it was stupid for her to want to be his priority in the first place, because he was definitely her priority. She’d left the life, the luxury, everything she’d built in the Fire Nation after having her life torn down, just to rebuild everything again at sea, for him. And he didn’t even have to ask her to, he didn’t have to ask her to have that horrid conversation with his father that she hoped he never found out about, and he didn’t have to ask her to just be there.
Then again, it had been drilled into her mind to protect and serve Zuko since she was a child. Maybe none of this was real, maybe Y/N didn’t actually care about Zuko, maybe it was just another one of the things she’d been brainwashed to believe by the Fire Nation. Maybe the days they’d spent together as children, the nights they’d spent now, the time at sea, maybe it meant nothing.
No, this was different. This was different and Y/N knew it, she just didn’t want to admit it. This was another thing on her list of problems now.
Y/N brushed these thoughts away as they mind their way through the temple, she didn’t have time for this, the horrifying dragon had given her a task and she was going to see it through. She needed to get into the room, and if Y/N had learnt anything, it was that wherever Aang was, that was probably where she had to be as well.
As they enter the room the explosion had come from, Zuko spares her a glance, bringing his hand to his lips as he nods to her. Aang is hidden behind a pillar as the Fire Sages set the door alight, causing it to slowly move upon, the gears within working for what was likely the first time in a century. It’s then that the rest of his friends strike, restraining the Fire Sages, one of them even betraying his colleagues as they call out for the Avatar, “Aang! Now!”
But Zuko’s already captured the boy, ensuring he can’t head into the now open doors and providing the distraction that was vital to the escape of the other Fire Sages, he called out, “shut the doors!”
Y/N has about half a dozen thoughts in her head as she wonders how she’ll get into the room if they close the doors, because as much as she hates the whole Dualbending— Tribending thing, she needs answers. Which is why she’s thankful when Aang manages to escape Zuko’s grasp without her aid, though Y/N’s feet seem to move on their own as she chases after him.
The bright light is almost blinding, but she can hear the doors shut behind her as she lands rather painfully on her side, pushing up on her arm to see Aang staring at her in shock. This quickly morphs into a smile, “hey, Y/N!” His brows furrow as he tilts his head at her, “what are you doing in here?”
Moving to her feet, Y/N grimaces as she dusts off her pants, “I was threatened by a dragon.” Aang’s face becomes one of shock, but before he can respond, something akin to thunder sounds through the room, light shining onto the stone on the statue of Roku. “What the-”
A fog starts pouring out of the statue’s mouth, swirling around the pair that lock eyes once more before Y/N finds herself atop a mountain, falling onto the ground and groaning in pain. Y/N brings a hand to her face to shield it from the bright light that is the sun? Or maybe its a fake sun seeing as this can’t possibly be real, not that it matters as she places her hand in the grass to push herself upwards, just to meet the eyes of the infamous Avatar Kyoshi.
Oh god.
“So you’re the mistake.” She mused, scanning Y/N’s figure. She had read about Avatar Kyoshi, and from what she had gathered, she had by far been one of the most powerful Avatars to ever exist. And one of the most violent.
Pushing away these thoughts to try and calm herself, Y/N simply frowned at the Avatar’s words as she moved to stand, the strikingly tall woman was already intimidating, her tone and history was not helping. “You could’ve been nicer about it... but yeah.” Y/N agreed, recalling her conversation with Iroh. She was just nature’s lovely mistake.
“Interesting.”
Y/N grimaces, steadying herself as she speaks, “there are probably lots of other... mistakes, so why am I here?” Iroh had spoken of the likelihood that there were others around the world, and Y/N herself had heard the rumors of Dualbenders across the globe in their search for the Avatar. She wasn’t special—well, she was definitely special, but at the end of the day she wasn’t the Avatar.
Kyoshi narrows her eyes at Y/N’s words, scoffing, “don’t tell me you’re dumb.”
“You are just as nice as they said you were.” Y/N grumbles, bringing a hand to the back of her neck, “care to answer my question?”
Raising a brow, the woman’s glance turns to the sky, “you are the mistake.” Kyoshi replies, “the only mistake of this cycle. The others have all be fakes.” Y/N can practically feel the disgust in Kyoshi’s words, and she doesn’t know if its because people lied about being Dualbenders, or if its because they exist in the first place. Not that she wants to know.
But what she implies rings through Y/N’s head as she speaks, “I still don’t matter. There’s a perfectly good Avatar already.” If Y/N theoretically was another Avatar, what purpose could she serve? They had an Avatar, one that was far more moral than she ever was, one that was ‘hero’ material. Iroh had also suggested that if there was only one ‘mistake’ then they were likely powerful, which could explain the possibility of Y/N being another Avatar.
Inhaling deeply, Kyoshi’s eyes fall back on Y/N as she says, “I have a feeling that when push comes to shove.” Her hand form a fist, “he will fail to do what is necessary. You on the other hand...” She trails off, her hand unclenching as she continues, “your Fire Lord seeks world domination, and it is disrupting the balance. You were made because the boy’s disappearance worsened the unbalance.”
“He’s not my Fire Lord.” Y/N grumbles, running a hand through her hair, “so what do you want me to do?” She asks, cutting to the chase, there’s no point in hopping around the subject. She’d been summoned for a reason.
Kyoshi offers her a smile, though Y/N can tell its not a friendly one as she speaks, “I chose to speak with you because you have yet to Earthbend and still, you remind me most of myself.” She raises a hand to the sky, and it darkens into a red hue as she explains, “Ozai will use Sozin’s comet to carry out his goal unless he is stopped. And you are progressing far quicker than the newest Avatar.”
The comet that aided in the destruction of an entire race, Y/N was familiar. Firebenders became unbelievably powerful during its appearance, and it would serve as the perfect opportunity for an invasion.
Y/N would know, seeing as she suggested it. She recalled the conversation in the War Room vividly, during a discussion on how they could defeat the Earth Kingdom in a quick manner. It was the first time she had outshone General Zhao, but not the last.
“You’ll have no choice but to work together, you must learn Airbending from someone, and there are no other teachers around.” Y/N can practically feel the woman’s anger, and wonders if it truly belongs to her, if she understood the Avatar Cycle properly then they were all connected somehow.
Y/N really wished this was a dream. But, this wasn’t a dream, and the fog seemed to swirl around her once more was a reminder of this fact, “Aang is the Avatar. He can handle this alone, I’m not getting involved..”
There’s a knowing look on Kyoshi’s face, and as she fades away Y/N can hear her final words, “you don’t really mean that.”
And Y/N had a feeling that she was right. A feeling that she absolutely hated.
A/N: anyways i wanna cut like at least six inches of hair and get bangs oh no also KYOSHIIIIIIII THE BADDEST BEST AVATAR writing this made me happy

Have some Asra n Muriel disorganized headcanons: animal themed!
Asra's most likely to answer quetzal if you ask for his favourite bird (he had a close up encounter with one his first time in nopal and had never seen a bird like it so it's a special memory), but he also appreciates all others. He also loves dart frogs and his favorite reptile would of course be perfect lavender angel baby fictional fantasy pythons. I'd also see him loving dragonflies as well.
He will see literally any animal generally and always say "they're one of my favourites!", though. It doesn't matter how many times he's said it that day or how many animals he's said it about. It's almost without fail he'll point one out and say it's a favourite.
One of his favorite animals is always the one in front of him Right Now, as a quick reference.
Plus, he loves to point animals out on travels or when out and about Vesuvia, so get used to hearing it!
He may attempt to catch critters occasionally too, or just pick them up, these will be mostly bugs usually. He just likes to cup moths in his hand on occasion and the watch them flutter out and I think he should be allowed to! Or just cradle bugs in his palm and watch them walk around for a bit. If it's a reptile or amphibian somewhere it could get stepped on or dried out or eaten he will still scoop them up and carry them to the brush.
[Cont. after cut]
Nothing he ever handles seems to get too upset or stressed, even when it's an animal that otherwise would. They just seem to be more relaxed if it's Asra who's touching them. Sometimes reptiles just come up to him (or even crawl onto his hand, as a few lizards have,) curiously enough. Though they may still refuse to be touched even then, they're notably not bothered by his presence when for others they'd run away. It's not something Asra's ever noticed to be odd, nor would it be overly noticeable to most people, but it's definitely something you can recognize if you pay attention.
Asra would also love to run on the beach sometimes, namely as a kid, maybe making himself invisible or otherwise undetectable until he's right up on a big flock of seagulls before giving them a hearty boo! And watching them all fly away all giggly. As an adult he may still stir up flocks for fun sometimes, or just to see how pretty it is to watch them all fly at once.
In general he just loves watching birds or bugs or whatever be it fly, always so effortlessly. Maybe he wishes he could fly himself. It certainly would make things easier he would come to think time to time growing up in Vesuvia.
Plus, he likes to collect the feathers that flutter down. Back when he sold masks, they were something he incorporated into them often. Then, too, he would also sit by the river after wearing himself out practicing hydromancy or what not, and a few times dragonflies would perch on him. He'd always gasp n grin all big and goofy when they did.
Muriel doesn't pick favorites really when it comes to animals (barring wolves and bears), but he does mirror Asra's 'one of my favourites' statements by saying "they're one of Asra's favorites," Occasionally.
While Asra's animal encounters or observations are typically brief, Muriel is more than content to just watch animals long periods of time. He can spot or at least know where to find some seriously elusive ones. The only one such animal Asra seems to have luck like that with seems to be foxes.
If you want to see an animal, local to the area around Vesuvia namely, Muriel can probably help you with that, granted he trusts you. This includes dens, hives, and nesting sites of course, things he will stop by occasionally in his forest to check on. His luck/skill in finding these things can't seem to be mimicked by even the most skilled animal trackers, you'd think they were practically just showing themselves to only him.
Muriel is also content to let animals do their thing and not interact with them much. Birds, butterflies and similar may land on him occasionally and he's always enchanted by it though, and will make no move to prevent an animal being on or touching him. Similar to Asra, he will also remove any animals in bad spots and put them somewhere better. He's a bit more effective at this though, as he tends to be looking down anyways, while Asra has probably smooshed a few pillbugs and snails before while doing his own thing- eyes elsewhere.
If Muriel did ever nerf a bug accidentally he would probably feel pretty damn bad, and if it wasn't reduced to a mere smear he would return its poor bug corpse to nature so that it might reclaim it. He'd get over it quick though if he was in a good mood prior, just give him a moment. If he was upset over something else already and he killed one, I could see it even pushing him to tears or rather making it worse if he was already at that point.
Asra would probably be like 'awh.... :( oof, I'm sorry lil guy...' and sweep it into nature if he could, but otherwise he would not be impacted too much.
Asra would purposely kill bugs on a few occasions even, pest bugs namely - like flies or mosquitoes or, of course, plague beetles. He may even instinctively lash out and flatten a bug that simply resembles a plague beetle enough, particularly if something had his anxiety or panic (ptsd trigger from the plague??) going. Otherwise plague beetle resembling beetles he'd be a little unsettled by, or uncomfortable to be around, but not enough to necessarily kill. He'd either move it somewhere else, try to scare it off, or move away from it. Muriel doesn't have many hang ups on plague beetle resembling bugs, though he would probably kill the real deal readily.
Any dead animals not in a wild area (like left in the city or on a road,) Muriel would move as long as it wasn't yknow. Too nasty. Birds that hit windows, starved or sickly scavengers, anything that dropped in a heatwave or was claimed by a flood, things like that, recent deaths. It pains him to see at all, but pains him more to leave them just.... There. Some he may bury, others he may leave out in places where there's animals he know will take it for food.
Injured or sick animals Muriel would try to help best he could, and he's successfully done it a few times. If it's blistering hot he'd also likely leave water out here and there for the animals of the forest, and he may enlist Asra's help with this to replenish water in natural water basins as well in droughts.
Muriel can handle animal death okay, hunting and fishing is a thing he does to some degree, it's just the preventable or senseless ones that hurt, it's worth saying here. It's just sad. He'll be okay after though, unless there's something more nefarious and upsetting at play.
Asra helping unwell/hurt animals would mostly consist of magic healing, but beyond that he wouldn't know what to really do besides bring it to Muriel or any animal experts near him. He doesn't come across these situations too often thankfully, though. Domestic animals he would take in more readily, and would let crash at the shop for a while if he can. If it's a livestock animal he'll ask if Muriel wants to take it in, or even in the case of an ownerless pet animal. If not, he can ask around. See if anyone wants a new dog or cat or... Goat. I just imagine those are the kinds of animals he's most likely to find in need, being in the center of Vesuvia.
Moving on from that....
Animal knowledge!
Asra likely doesn't know a ton about animals outside of ones that feature prominently in magic and myth, he's just good at identifying them and overall tends to appreciate their presence. Identifying animals can make for good pass times on long travels, or if he just sees something particularly neat he may simply want to know what to call it. He also probably learned most the common local Vesuvian species names growing up, probably through reading, though the bulk of his knowledge of the nature he grew up around is probably botanical- foraging can be dangerous! Plus, magic knowledge probably leans more heavily on plants than animals as well.
If Asra can't identify an animal, though, he will simply make up a name for it on the spot. If he finds out it's ID later he will still refer to it as his made up name followed by AKA/sometimes called/locally known as [real name]. He also tends to refer to tons of animals as the infamous, famous, legendary, revered, etc. Regardless of relevance, commonality or obscurity. He just thinks they all deserve such titles, and when has a little flair ever hurt?
"Ah, MC, look! It's an Abramesmerwhymsical Zadithi midnight-billed stilt-wader! Though it's sometimes also known as the famous crab-plover," Kinda shit. He enjoys it.
Muriel doesn't actually know the actual names of a ton of animals species. He knows of a few though, not to mention the Asra-given names that stuck with him. Despite not knowing their names sometimes still, he can tell most all species apart readily, and juveniles from adults, males from females, things like that. He watches animals of the forest regularly and is in tune with the local species life cycles, breeding or rearing seasons, migratory patterns, unique behaviors and everything else. Though his knowledge is probably limited to Vesuvian species, he's able to quickly pick up on other animal's traits and such when outside of Vesuvian territory, and is generally good with animals as is.
He knows what doves/pigeons and owls and vipers and mice and geckos etc are. He may not know that a specific species of such is called like, namaqua doves, omani owls, ocellated mountain vipers, cario spiny mouse, kotschy's middle-toed geckos n shit. It's not like he has NO idea, species names are weird and can be long winded so....
...He just doesn't know that dunnocks aren't actually called stripple-caped tseepers.
But he doesn't need to. <3
If he does learn the real names for them though, he is quite glad and will use the name readily. If you're looking at a Muriel who's in the city more, he will probably read up on this information himself, but otherwise he would of course treasure it if MC told him.
The only reasons he doesn't even know the names to begin with is mostly because the names you'll hear out and about most commonly only cover a fraction of species to start, and everything else youre mostly going to have to study via reading or classes. Neither of those seem to be things a young homeless Muriel would care to pursue lmao.
Annnnd
I forgot what else I was going to add and lost track so, I'll maybe add more later. I'll probably also amend this as I may find I don't agree with my own statements the next day and also I don't proofread so. I hope u enjoyed these feel free to add on or add differing opinions!

Clean Reinstall for Baldur's Gate 3
[Originally posted on r/baldursgate3.]
Every time the game updates with a new patch, you MUST clean your game out of all mods. If you've already installed the patch without cleaning the game, you will need to do a clean reinstall. Follow the steps below to do so.
Go to your Documents\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods. Delete everything in this folder. (Alternatively, if you do not have backups of your mods, simply move them into a different folder outside of the Baldur's Gate folder.)
Go to Documents\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles. Whichever profiles you have had, you will need to restore the original version of modsettings.lsx. You should do this for every profile to be safe. You should always keep a clean backup of this file when modding, but if you don't have one, go into the existing modsettings.lsx, CTRL + A, and replace it with the text in the following link, then save. If you have a backup generated by Candor, it may be titled modsettings.lsx.backup. Link for clean modsettings.lsx text: https://pastebin.com/kcLeDKjx
Go to (Drive):\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data, and look for a \Generated folder. This is usually added by a mod that changes textures (such as alternate appearances, tattoo mods etc). If there's a Generated folder, delete it. You will need to reinstall any texture mods after the update. (Note: I'm not actually 100% sure if this will cause issues if not deleted prior to updating, but better safe than sorry.)
Go to (Drive):\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin. Look for a file named DWrite.dll. If this file is in the folder, delete it. This is from Norbyte's Script Extender, and will crash your game on launch until it is updated for Patch 6. You may also want to delete ScriptExtenderSettings.json and ScriptExtenderUpdaterConfig.json.
Double check that you have removed anything mod-related from your game's install location. I don't know of any mods that would hide elsewhere in the install folder, but I also don't use every mod in existence, so do your own due diligence in this regard. Any mod you've installed needs to be removed from both the Baldur's Gate install folder and the Documents folder.
Finally, update your game to Patch 6. If you already updated without cleaning your game, you will need to uninstall the game and reinstall it again. Verifying your files, in my experience, is not good enough to fix the weird bugs/errors that come up if you updated with mods installed.
Once the game is updated and/or reinstalled, launch the game vanilla with no mods installed. Ensure that everything works as intended. You will not be able to continue an old save, so start a new game and just make sure you're not seeing weird glitches. I would check both the CC screen (textures, tattoos especially) and also load in the game to ensure you can jump, attack, and use any spells you may have modified previously. If those spells are not available to a level 1 character, use Cheat Engine and the most recent cheat table to add the spell in question to your character for testing purposes. Test any and all spells, actions, etc that may have been previously modded.
If you are still encountering weird behavior as of step 7, you missed something. Go back and redo steps 1-6, then retest again.
If everything works as expected, congrats! Your game should be clean now, and you can go about adding the mods you like. Keep in mind that some are not yet updated to Patch 6. Make sure you're grabbing the updated versions of any mods you use, and be aware that using an outdated mod may result in unexpected behavior, bugs, or glitches. Use at your own risk.

update on Temptation of Two Wolves
— i did a bit of research and apparently the story will be either based on/ will be an adaptation of a 2004 korean film of the same title!! 늑대의유혹
the game will probably follow the same plot as the film/novel, so i'll go ahead and put some info on the story below
SYNOPSIS
Jung Han-Gyeong* (MC) is a country girl no matter what angle you look at her. Her looks and behavior are a dead giveaway. After her father passed away, she moves to Seoul to stay with her mother, and with a plan to attend Kang-Shin High School.
On the bus, she meets Ban Haewon, the most popular and sought out guy in her school, after getting hit in the head by his slipper— the latter thinking that the former had been dumped by her boyfriend and was crying. Haewon then starts to fall for her after getting to know her— finding her pitiable and adorable.
Han-Gyeong meets Jung Taesung after an accidental encounter during a gang fight. Taesung recognizes Han-Gyeong and asks if she remembers him, to which she says no. Taesung then tries to win over her affection while going up against his rival, Haewon. Taesung only hopes that the two— especially Han-Gyeong, would never know of the secret he's hiding.
* MC's name may or may not be changeable in the game
PERSONAL THOUGHTS
— okay so like i went ahead and watched the film and OH MY GOD Y'ALL WE ARE IN FOR A LOT OF DRAMA.
— i left out a lot of stuff and i don't think i'm gonna share them here bcs it's a whole lotta spoilers
— mild spoiler warning. the nature of mc and taesung's relationship is bugging me and oh god idek where to begin. it's up to y'all if you wanna know the whole story before playing the game or not (i suggest playing blindly tho. it adds a whole lotta suspense)
— THE ENDING IS WILD. MAN I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE WHAT I JUST WATCHED. TEARS WILL BE SHED.
— again i feel uncomfy with mc and taesung but eh, the film iz based on a 2002 web novel so there's bound to be some stuff that's weird. i just hope the game won't be too loyal to the film and novel's plot bcs 💀💀 y'all...

First off I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone that follows me and deals with me 🥺💕 I kinda can’t believe I’m at 100? I have a lot more up coming so bare with me!! I also wanted to try my hand at writing a few headcanons for some of our favorite boys involving how they handle their emotions when they first find that special one! Will do some more later! And since I reached 100 followers I will also be releasing some of my world-building headcanons about my CEO Maul AU that is in the works!
Wolffe- This boy gets extremely, overwhelmed with his emotions and in turn, he begins lashing out at others accidentally. It's simply because he doesn't understand how to control all these new emotions he's experiencing and he's confused and scared. After all, he's not even supposed to be feeling like this so he feels as if he's failing:
*Ever since you convinced Plo Koon to aid his men to Aleen for support, Wolffe has started feeling weird. Any time you tried to approach him though, he was rather reserved and sometimes gave you the cold shoulder. That is until you kept pestering him and eventually broke that beskar like a shield he had up.
*He doesn’t understand what it is, and he’s convinced he’s picked up a bug or something while planetside. Though he refuses to admit being sick and keeps it to himself.
*Part of him doesn’t understand why he has the constant need to get off 24/7 either, and somehow his mind always ends up wandering to you.
*Maker is he spiraling in the hell of feelings.
*During a skirmish with the 501st, he starts lashing out at Boost more than usual because it’s a “life or death” situation, and any mistake they make during these drills reflect on the battlefield. Even though it’s just a friendly game Skywalker organized to keep the troopers entertained but also practice strategizing.
*As days pass, and the more you’re around Wolffe begins secluding himself more. Trying to deal with the weirdness he’s experiencing, still not able to pinpoint what the hell is going on with him.
*“Good you’re here.” When Sinker manages to locate his Commander and he barges into his quarters while starting to interrogate him.
*Wolffe felt like a blaster shot got him right in the chest. He felt like he couldn’t breathe, knowing he couldn’t escape Sinker’s questions. The commander hadn’t even noticed his emotions were controlling his behavior he was too wrapped up feeling like a defective clone.
*Wolffe knows clones weren’t supposed to have feelings, only to do their duty by serving the republic and that was it. Not even allowed to have possessions and yet, the idea of you being his was something he couldn’t suppress. It was wrong but anytime any other man spoke to you, held your attention he longed to stun them with his blaster.
*Eventually, Sinker was able to get Wolffe to unravel everything he was hanging onto. At first teasing, the commander was his first instinct, however, once he noticed how uncomfortable and shrunken the man in front of him was he immediately began comforting him.
*Wolffe made Sinker swear not to tell a soul, in exchange for relentless teasing and inside jokes between the two now. Something Wolffe “hates” but it’s better than everyone knowing, especially you while he gets all the advice from his brother on emotions, love, and most importantly how to get you in his grasp.
*“Kriff Wolffe, I’ve never seen you blush so much,” All Wolffe could let out was a low growl, eyes too focused on you walking down the hallway. Just the way you smiled and greeted him left him in a trance. “Guess that’s why they call it puppy love! Get it, Wolffe! Maybe we should just call you Wolffe Pup!”
*“Cut it out di’kut.” He hissed, walking away to escape to his quarters.
______________
Echo- This precious baby is worried he's not good enough for you. He's super shy and just wants to treat you the way you deserve is that too much to ask?
*100% hopeless romantic, but not sure how to execute it.
*This boy is SOFT. But he’s not one to seek out that attention for himself, he just wants to bask you in that attention, making you feel like you’re his whole world. Because you are. He’d do absolutely anything for you. But in the beginning, it was hard for him to even consider himself worthy of your love. He never knew what love actually felt like until he met you, but he was always intrigued by the idea of love.
*When he first locked eyes with you, it was in a cantina on Tatooine. Wrecker insisted on checking the planet out to scope out any odd bounties to take care of since there were no current missions.
*Of course, once his eyes met with yours that was it. A chill ran down his spine, and his cheeks were dusted with a rosy hue. Butterflies filling his stomach. Once the rest of the bad batch caught on, boy did they give him hell.
*Majority of their time on Tatooine, Echo would wander off by himself into town in hopes to run into you, but knowing damn well he wouldn’t try anything. He was far too scared and self-conscious about it. Especially after meeting the Techno Union, he didn’t feel worthy of your time, didn’t feel like he deserved anyone. He felt like a monster.
*If he wasn’t looking around for you, he was sitting outside the bad batch ship, prosthetic knees pulled into his chest as he pondered the true meaning of love. Considering the possibility you are what most call a “soul mate.”
*All the secret reading of holo novels and never prepared him for the true experience and now he’s left alone with his thoughts. Hatred building at all his imperfections he now has.
*Tech at one point tried to explain the whole biological basis of love and theories supporting it, but that only made Echo’s head spin. On the other hand, he had Wrecker in his ear on the vulgarities of love. Though, because these troopers were different, they didn’t discourage their brother either. They fully supported whatever would make him happy which only made him think of Fives even more. Fives would know what to say and guide him in the right direction because after all Fives always had civies swooning over him.
*“For Fives.” He’d repeat over and over, trying to muster the courage to even approach you at the market. Echo wanted his brother to be proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone in an attempt to discover if what he was truly feeling was love.
*Even though he was embarrassed to admit it to himself, he attempted some of Fives’ pick up lines but when the words tumble out of his mouth…they sound more like rambles, managing to forget the important parts of said pick up lines leaving Echo red and more flustered
*He’s honestly so precious trying to follow in his brother’s footsteps. Even if he’s making a fool out of himself, the giggle he gets from you is so rewarding that he keeps coming back to your vendor stall.
*The way he sees you look at him like he’s not broken and defective based on his cybernetics makes his heart leap. He finally found someone that hasn’t pitied him or trying to fix him.
*This is love. This is without a doubt the definition of love he was searching for. Crosshair was wrong. Soul Mates did exist, and it was you. Maker was it you, and he will do his best to try and show you how much he cherishes you as he learns more.
________
Fives- This man doesn’t stop at anything!! We all know he’s a popular man, but when that one special someone has his heart that’s it. He’s 100% devoted and will try to win their love every single day as if its started all over again. His pick up jokes are hella corny though and I will die on this hill!
*Confidence!!! Need I say more? Especially after a few drinks at 79s.
*This man will not hesitate to invade your personal space and whisper sweet nothings in someone's ear. Except when he tries it on you? He earns a swift smack to the face, damaging his ego a bit.
*Boy, the look on the rest of the 501st’ face should’ve been holorecorded. He’s NEVER rejected. But you weren’t the type to entertain drunk strangers. Despite the embarrassing encounter, Fives is plotting another scheme to get your attention. Although let's be honest, he’s always scheming!
*Even though he has a pretty high body count, it never meant anything to him. Just some stimulation and stress relief. However, that all stopped when he laid eyes on you. He swore to himself that he’d do everything in his power to be with you. But not just intertwined in the sheets, no, soul and all, hand and hand.
*Fives has heard about love before, but he never really thought he’d find someone who made him feel like that. If he was being honest with himself, he was kinda skeptical about it. After all, he didn’t really know anyone who experienced it. At least he wasn’t aware.
*It took him quite a few days of talking in the mirror and hyping himself up before he dared to try again before it dawned on him you may not even be there again. This kind of sends him spiraling a bit, anxiety starting to creep up on him like a Rishi Eel.
*One thing about Fives though is he’s determined. He was willing to wait as long as he possibly could to cross paths with you once more in hopes to patch things up and catch your attention. Some of the boys had Kix check up on their brother as he was constantly rambling to himself, thinking about all the possible scenarios he’d had with you at 79s. He managed to convince everyone he was fine though, just strategizing.
*His second attempt at winning you over went a little something like this; You were leaning against the bar, talking to a friend while he waltzed up to order a drink. He notices your friend begins to nudge you, only for you to roll your eyes once you see who it is. Of course, he’s got that stupid grin on his face, ready to work his magic. “You look tired darling.” His mouth hovers over the brim of the glass, eyes locking with yours. “I’m fine.” Your eyebrow raised, curious as to what game this clone was playing. You had to admit he was ballsy and hot…in an irritating kind of way. “Hmm...Surprised.” Fives mumbled taking another sip of his Trandoshan ale, “Cos you’ve been running through my mind all day.” The friend next to you ended up spitting her drink on the floor and your face beat red and not because of the alcohol.
*Once he laid out that card, that was it. He locked you in and you had no choice but to give him some of your time.
*Just the way he admires the words tumbling out of your lips, all attention on you, is surprising. Here you thought you had a man just wanting to slip into your pants and yet, he’s listening to your life story, asking questions about you. Your likes, dislikes, everything.
*He’s not one to admit he’s wrong, but he apologizes for his first interaction with you. Even admits that he was so awestruck with your beauty that his brain just stopped functioning.
*After several outings, his demeanor never changes. He’s so into you and remembers every detail about you. Any shift in your tone and he’s pressing you to talk about whatever is on your mind. Wanting to be the one to help you through it all.
*“Ya know Rex. I think I’m in love?” The captain couldn’t help but let out a snicker before realizing Fives is serious. “You? In love? Since when was that possible?” Fives just rolled his eyes and gave Rex a somewhat gentle push, before sneaking a peek at the holopic he has of you. Love was better than he expected, especially when it involved you.

True Self [Genos x OC]
Ch. 2 | ~To Avail~ (pt. 1)
The infestation of mutated bugs hadn’t lightened up. For the past few weeks, the Hero Association had been announcing constant threat levels of both Wolf and Tiger. Many C-Class Superheroes had gathered together to form teams to take on the threats since they weren’t strong enough to encounter an enemy on their own. Although the threats were easy to maintain, there were too many popping up to a point that it all became tedious.
The higher ranked classes didn’t see any point in intercepting as it didn’t seem like much of a big deal. They all either dismissed it or took action if an enemy came in their way. To most, they viewed the main issue as more of an inconvenience rather than an actual problem.
Though there were a lot of mutated bugs, not all seemed to have brought harm to society. The Hero Association may have sent out many announcements, but there were also just large bugs that just acted like ordinary bugs. This, of course, wasn’t good news for those that weren’t fond of critters. It was more anxiety inducing to see them.
Saitama would often have some fun with the situation. With the large bugs roaming around, he would often ride some to maneuver around to take on those that were actual threats. For some time, it brought him amusement, but it didn’t give him that excitement he chased after. All the creatures showing up were far too weak in comparison to him. There was no challenge.
Occasionally as Genos would watch his master with his antics and blast whatever creature he was on to bring him back down as there were more important things that needed to be done. The cyborg knew that not all were bringing destruction, but they were disturbing the peace. If all the mutants got used to being within the cities, they might unintentionally take over by inhabiting the area as they got accustomed to it.
Meanwhile with Miyu, she was in the forest. She wasn’t able to pay the cities rents since they were too expensive with her pay. When it came to things like cleaning, she would go to a spring and hoped for the best as she rubbed flowers against her clothes, hair, and body in the water. She always brushed her teeth at the public bathrooms back at the city, which she didn’t mind too much. However, the long way back was the issue. It took too much time and energy, which caused her to be sleep deprived and exhausted a majority of the time throughout her shift.
With all the announcements that the Hero Association gave to the public, she was sure to be cautious during her travels back and forth. Luckily, she’d only seen harmless ones like giant butterflies. Miyu didn’t mind it too much as long as she wasn’t in a close enough distance to touch her. They were beautiful to look at, and she doubted that the ones she had encountered would really do her harm.
Miyu’s shift was about to start soon, but she was far too tired to go. Although she knew she needed the money for necessities like food, she didn’t have the strength to go. She looked at the path that she usually went and groaned out loud as she knew she also had to drag her luggage around. She didn’t trust leaving it anywhere in fear of it getting taken or destroyed by whatever was in the forest. She hazily began walking off.
At the udon shop, Genos had arrived for part of his daily routine other than the workouts. He noticed he didn’t see Miyu during his run, so he assumed that she was inside already since she was at times, but she didn’t seem to be there. He asked the owner if she had a day off and she forgot to tell him or something.
Her boss shook his head and informed him that she hadn’t shown up at all. He soon called on the phone for another worker to take over her shift. “I don’t understand why she’s late.” he commented. “She said she would work everyday, but she probably needed a day off. It’s not like Miyu can call in though.”
“Why can’t she?” the blonde cyborg asked curiously.
“The girl doesn’t own a phone, so we can’t contact her.” he shrugged.
Genos looked down and placed his metal fingers on his chin to lightly rest on as he thought to himself. He did notice Miyu being sluggish in the recent days, but he didn’t think too much about it at first. Now that she’s late, it did bring some concern. He decided to wait out at the door frame for a bit. He laid his back against the wall and placed one leg up behind lightly as he crossed his arms.
As Miyu made her way, she felt the sweat dripping off of her body. From her head to lower body, she felt disgusted with how sticky she felt. Up ahead, she could see Genos waiting for her at the entrance. She gave out a heavy sigh as she knew that he waited for quite a while.
He looked to the side and saw Miyu riding her luggage as if it was some ride. His eyes and eyebrows slightly twitched from not understanding her strange behavior. Genos stood still as he kept his eye on her, waiting for her to catch up. When she got to a close enough distance, she smacked her luggage to roll next to him. Genos’ eyes widened as she had never done that before.
Miyu walked in all drowsy and apologized to her boss. She then asked, “What about my shift.?”
He shook his head. “You don’t seem all too well. I think it’s best that you take a few days off.” her boss suggested.
She felt shakened a bit from the thought. “But--.”
He raised a stopped hand sign and interrupted her before she could say anything. “I get that your financial situation isn’t the best right now, but you seem to need it.” He noticed her distressed expression. “I don’t intend on firing you given the amount of hours you do and someone had just quit recently. How about I give you at least a week off? If you go any longer than that, then there’d be an issue.” he suggested for her.
Miyu hesitantly agreed and nodded, “Okay..” She walked outside and saw Genos was still there, now standing next to her. She looked up at him with her tired eyes and squeamish smile since she was dissatisfied with the day.
Genos noticed the eye bags under her eyes. “You’re tired.” he pointed out.
“Yeah, I am.” she said bluntly.
“What’d your boss say?” he asked her.
“That I’m off for a week.” she told him.
He raised his brows. “Well, that’s good for you. You can go home now to rest.”
Miyu looked at him and froze for a bit. He slightly tilted his head, waiting for her to respond. She looked back at the direction she came from and began to internally scream. “Ugh.!” she wailed out loud as she collapsed onto her knees.
He offered his hand out to her. “Is there a problem?” he asked, again.
She glared a bit but quickly shook off her expression. Miyu looked at his metallic hand for a bit. Her stare went from his fingers to up to his shoulder. ‘I wonder if it hurt..’ she thought as she placed her hand onto his to help her get up. She then dusted off some dirt and groggily sighed, “Too far..”
Genos pulled out a flyer and showed it to her. “I must attend to this.” he said as he showed her.
Miyu looked at the flyer intently and took it from his hands to look closely. It was about bargaining discounts at the supermarket. “Oh..” she yawned, “That’s today.?”
Yes, you can come if you want.” he told her as he took the flyer back.
She looked behind her then back at him and nodded. “Might as well.” she agreed as she lazily dragged her luggage around as she followed him to the supermarket.
“My Master hates missing out on such sales.”
Miyu squinted her eyes at him. “You’re always talking about how great this ‘Master’ of yours is, yet it sounds like a kink at times.” she laughed to herself.
“No, you’re misunderstanding what I say, just like him. Great minds surely do think alike.” he compared both Saitama and Miyu.
“No, I don’t think that’s the case here. I’m literally just trying to help you understand easy themes.” she disagreed with him.
“You call it easy because it comes naturally to you.” he pointed out.
She facepalmed, practically tired of trying to explain to him after the past time. After a while, her legs slowly began to give up. “I’m tired.” she complained.
“Do you need assistance?” he asked as he walked back to her.
Feeling weirded out a bit and uncomfortable, Miyu shook her head as she sat down on her luggage. “Just for a bit.” she pleaded.
He proceeded to go up to her and push the luggage with one hand. “You’ll slow us down if this continues.” he commented nonchalantly.
“H-Hey! No.!!” Miyu whined. “Don’t push it while I’m on it.!” she begged him as her face turned red from embarrassment.
Genos stopped and looked at her since he didn’t fully understand. “You’re in need of aid though.” he pointed out.
“And I thought you were learning from me?” she asked sarcastically. “Like- it feels weird. We’re not close or anything. I know more about you than you know of me, and I thought we’re more of a teacher student kind of thing.”
“My Master told me to live like my age. Given the material you’ve given me to read, I can count you as a friend of some sort? The reliable one.”
She raised a brow and said, “But you haven’t known me long.”
“And in some of those mangas, those characters didn’t know each other for long.” he rebutted, proving her wrong.
Her mouth shifted to the side awkwardly as she avoided eye contact. Miyu soon snapped her fingers when she thought of something. “Again, you don’t know much about me.”
Genos looked ahead as she got up from her stuff. “Then why don’t you share more? It might make you more comfortable.”
“Fine.” Miyu began walking ahead while doing jazz hands and motioned him to follow her. “Let’s go somewhere else for now if that’s the case. That sale doesn’t end ‘till 8pm.”
Genos followed her, confused on what she had planned. “Are you not tired?” he wondered.
“You honestly put me in such a shock earlier than I have enough energy to at least last me this day.” she awkwardly laughed it off as the blood that rose to her face slowly faded. Her face was still pink to a noticeable degree, so when Genos caught up to her, she looked the other way to make sure he wouldn’t see. “If your master told you to go act like your age, then we’re going somewhere.”
“And where do you intend on making us go?”
She shrugged back at him and replied, “I don’t know.”
“You can’t say that we’re going somewhere without a destination.”
“Yeah.” she scoffed. “You can.” Miyu waved her hand slowly in front of his face. “Want me to sound sophisticated? Hm? Then- the future is an enigma.” she said with an upfront yet sarcastic attitude.
Genos nodded slowly as he followed her. He tried keeping up with her pace regarding topics. Miyu would often say one thing and then another the next second. It was a lot for him to process since her behavior seemed more unpredictable than Saitama’s. Though she was tired, she kept going on about how it was important to enjoy places or try to have fun.
The two went around some of the cities. Genos would give descriptions about some of the places that Miyu would point out and question since she wasn’t familiar with a majority of them. He continued to give as much information to what he knew, which was overwhelming. Miyu found it unnecessary, but she let it pass by since she got to learn things too.
It didn’t take too long for them to realize that the supermarket’s discount sale’s end was nearing. They headed to the supermarket to take advantage of the lower prices. Genos looked at the list he had written down and also remembered some other things to pick up since they were so last minute.
“What are you doing?” Miyu asked as she peered his side.
“I’m checking if there’s anything else I need to get before I head back.”
She shook her head in disbelief and placed some coupons into his hand. “Use these.” she told him.
Genos noticed she wasn’t carrying much and questioned her, “Shouldn’t you get more items than that?”
Miyu averted her eyes and stuttered, “T-To be honest.. I don’t really have a place to go to..”
His eyes widened. “Then where have you been going whenever we part ways after our lessons?”
“Ahaha..” she laughed awkwardly. “Yeah- about that.. I kinda.. Go to that forest nearby.”
“I think you need to explain more later.” Genos looked her straight in the eyes firmly without breaking eye contact. “You seem to need more help than I thought.”
Miyu tucked in her lips since she had been quiet about the situation for some time. “I’m sorry..” she apologized.
He shook his head and said, “Master Saitama would surely understand.”
“What’re you talking about?” she yawned.
Genos didn’t talk any further as he focused on the remaining time they had left before the sale was over. Admittedly, he was disappointed with her to an extent. She should’ve at least said something sooner. When he got everything they needed, he made sure she was keeping up with his pace.
As they headed to City Z, Miyu began explaining to him that it didn’t seem right for her to open up about her issue at hand. It didn’t sit right with her that she was getting all the help she was getting from Genos after just meeting him a few weeks ago for the sake of shoujo manga learning purposes. Although he insisted that aid can be found from the empathy of those that understood and have been in that situation, he felt guilty.
“Why’d you leave your town?” he asked curiously. Genos noticed that she had a pretty durable luggage. “You seemed to be financially okay before.”
Miyu yawned, again. Her eyesight seemed to be weary from pushing herself for so long. She waved it off. “Mm.? Egh..” she sneered in disgust. “It’s weird and gross in my opinion. My family basically wanted me to have an arranged marriage..” She shook her head since the idea bothered her. “I didn’t want that, so I left.”
Genos kept silent as he had nothing to respond with to that. He couldn’t relate or fully knew the whole story. He could tell that she clearly didn’t like it though, so he didn’t ask anymore details about it. “About the forest, we’ll get back to that. You’re far too tired to talk more.”
She nodded as her eyes slowly started to struggle to stay open. “Yeah..” she sighed.
They soon approached the door and Genos knocked, signaling Saitama that he had arrived. Though he had brought more than his master would’ve expected, he was sure he could find something to explain about. Footsteps grew closer and the door soon opened.
Saitama opened the door and was somewhat shocked. He was pleased with more groceries, but he didn’t understand why Genos had brought a girl over. He looked at Miyu for a bit and realized that it was the new worker that the blonde cyborg was borrowing manga from. “Oh!” He pointed at her with an amused expression. “It’s that worker you were talking about.” he said with a calm tone as he looked at Genos.
Miyu squinted as she looked at Saitama. She wasn’t sure if her eyes were playing tricks or not. As she looked at the man’s face, she couldn’t help but look at his bald head. She, too, pointed back at him and drowsily said, “Egg..” before passing out.
Genos quickly caught Miyu and held her by the shoulders to keep her standing. “Master, this is Miyu, the worker that owns all those mangas.” he looked at his master only to see his face in shock.
The bald man stared at her, unable to utter a word. He frowned as he was offended by the new unexpected guest that his disciple had brought to their home. He was about to ask why she had knocked out, but he couldn’t help but be bothered by her comment. He knew she was referring to his features. He glared for a bit and muttered, “There’s nothing wrong with my head..” Saitama then turned his attention to the blonde cyborg that had brought her there in the first place. “If you’re going to be bringing girls over, I’m gonna make you move out.”
“That’s not the case, Master. I barely know much, but apparently she’s been in the forest.” Genos walked in carefully and placed her onto his futon for the meantime. He then began putting the groceries away and started to cook for both him and his master.
Saitama trotted into the kitchen with widened eyes as he pointed at the living room, where they usually do everything in. “What’re we going to do about a sleeping woman in the place?!” he whispered to Genos in distress.
Genos continued to unload the abundant amount of groceries. “I’m not too sure.” he admitted. Noticing the dissatisfaction in his master’s face, he pulled out the coupons that Miyu had given him back at the supermarket. “She helped save us more money than usual.”
“Ooh! That’s a good thing.” Saitama looked back at the living room again and shook his head. “That’s not enough with 3 people in this small apartment.”
He thought about it for a bit as he gave him his dinner for the night. The two of them sat down in the hallway and ate their food. After some silence had passed, Genos had offered to pay some extra rent for a bit and suggested that Miyu do most of the household related work when they were away to get things done faster. Saitama slowly nodded since it didn’t seem as bad of an idea, but it all depended on Miyu ultimately.
When Saitama was finished, he went into the living room, unfazed. He wasn’t going to not sleep in his own futon in his own place. He quickly picked it up and moved it closer to the front door to get away from the strange girl. “It smells a lot like leaves in here.” He quietly opened the patio door a bit to let some air in as the night passed.
The next day, Miyu woke up and stretched her arms out. She lightly rubbed her eyes and turned to her right and saw both Saitama and Genos staring back at her on the other side of the table. It surprised her enough to move back to the wall in shock. She looked around and noticed that they were in a small, compact apartment.
Genos left some fruits on the table for her to eat for breakfast since they were good for her health. Since Miyu was so sleep deprived with a practically physically worn out body, he thought some sugar in her system would’ve been best for her to consume.
Miyu gratefully thanked him and began eating, but she could feel the awkward atmosphere. She had accidentally made eye contact with Saitama and quickly looked in the other direction to avoid making things weirder.
Saitama soon broke the silence as he couldn’t take it anymore. “You made my apartment smell too much like nature.” he told her straightforwardly while pointing with a bored expression. “You need to shower.”
Her face turned red from embarrassment. “I’m sorry about that..” she apologized as she awkwardly scratched the back of her head.
“Master Saitama is busy and would want you to have an explanation shortened to be 20 words or less.” Gentos explained to her.
Miyu looked at him with a confused expression then at Saitama. Her eyes’ focus alternated for a bit as she wasn’t fully comprehending everything since she had just woken up. “What am I supposed to explain.?” she sheepishly whispered to Genos.
‘Why’s she whispering?’ Genos wondered as he didn’t understand why she was acting in such a way. She was still loud enough for Saitama to hear. He heard her from across the table, so of course his master, who was right next to him, heard as well. He assumed it was some social cue test from the manga lessons and went along with it. He raised a hand up by his face to make somewhat of a wall by Saitama’s side and used his regular voice saying, “Your forest situation.”
Miyu made an “O” with her mouth as she understood and did a slow nod. She turned her focus onto the bald man and once again got distracted by the top of his head. “I- uh..”
Saitama noticed her eyes’ stare. He looked at her firmly with a somewhat done smile and a vein popping out of my head. “I get it. I’m bald! I stressed myself out from so much working out that all my hair came out!” he exclaimed. “I’m not old too, so don’t even try calling me old!”

This region is composed of many islands, the two biggest are the most residential, the rest mostly function as a wild area. Hope you enjoy your adventure here!!
You will begin your journey in a city called loloma (island), you are tasked with finding Professor Banyan, then you will get your starter as well as meet your rivals, Nia ((girl) picks starter strong against yours, and is your cousin) and Filipe ((boy) picks starter weak against yours, and is lifelong best friend), you will also be granted a ride pokemon that allows you to traverse the water, and explore the wild area with ease.
Next, you will travel to the mainland of duavata (viti levu), and arrive in a city called sautu ((capitol) based off of the real life city of suava), there you will have your first gym challenge. Then you can either travel north to the city of Marau (based off of waila city), or west to the Vinaka Sara Resort (Picific Harbor).
If you go north you will end up in Marau and challenge your second gym, and then you will travel south west to Vinaka Sara Resort, and challenge your third gym.
If you choose to go west you will end up in Vinaka Sara Resort, and challenge your second gym, and then you will travel north east to Marau, and challenge your third gym.
After getting your second and third gym badges, you head further west and inland to Iyau ((biggest and richest city) Tore) and home to 3 quests you have to complete to progress further, at the end you get a shiny medallion, allowing you to turn one of your pokemon into its shiny form, after you are the champion, you can buy more shiny medallion, but they are super expensive, and lowers a chosen stat.
Next, you head to totoka ruins (Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple), you have a trade sequence side quest that starts with you meeting the evil team, fighting them, and giving back the item they stole, at the end you get to have max soup.
Next, you go on the longest route of the game, it is so important that it has its own name, trail of the drowsy giant (garden of the sleeping giant), here you meet the colossal 3rd legendary, you don't catch it, but you do have an opportunity to challenge it. After this encounter, you fight some evil team goons. You then head inland to the town of savasava (navala) then you challenge your 4th gym.
After your 4th gym, you head to the north coast to a city called yalodina (Rakiraki) you are greeted by your rivals, in a flutter of excitement because after the 5th gym of this island, you get to challenge this islands elite four, and if you beat them, you get the duavata island badge, allowing you to travel to the second main land island, rokova (vanua levu), you have the choice to weather fast travel there by boat, or to go through the wild area.
Once you land on a remote beach on rokova you are immediately dumped onto a route, and it is your choice to either head north to the city of sara (lekutu), to challenge the gym leader, or you can head east to a beach with access to the wild area, in which you can go to a previously inaccessible island duo, lomasoli (makogai island and makodroga), the biggest of the two is residential, the smaller one houses a gym.
If you go north, you head to sara and get your 6th gym badge, and then you head to lomasoli and get your 7th badge.
If you go east, you head to lomasoli and get your 6th gym badge, then you head to sara and get your 7th gym badge.
After you get your 6th and 7th badges, you’re tasked with finding the evil team’s hideout which turns out to be a remote island in the wild area called, paisoni, you fight many grunts, the admins, and finally the leader, who tells you their plan to take over and contaminate the region with regisite (bug type) OR regiblight (poison type), the team leader has one of those two on their team. After the fight, you are able to walk deeper into the facility, you can find the masterball and fight/catch the third regi, regibrium (ghost), that the evil team is keeping hostage in hopes that it does not sense the imbalance of either poison or bug and come after them seeking equilibrium. After you catch regibrium, you fight the team leader again, this time, you're able to catch the other regi, with the help of regibriums ability. After you catch either regisite OR regiblight, there is a cut seen in which the two regis burst out of their pokeballs and disappear. YOU DO GET THE POKEBALLS BACK, AND YOU ARE ABLE TO CATCH THE REGI TRIO LATER IN POSTGAME. You are told by the team leader that this is not the last time you will meet.
After your evil team encounter, you head to your 8th gym in a city allied maravu (savusavu/j hunter pearl company and showroom), where you get your eighth badge, the pearl badge. After you beat this gym, a new group of people emerge, claiming to want to help purify the land allowing new life to flourish, after the destruction caused by the evil team. They are called the savi company, on your first encounter with them they even give you, the hero of the region a second masterball.
Next, you head north to challenge your 9th gym, in a city called mai (labasa), there you have another encounter with the savi company, and the residents have been noticing some suspicious behavior with them, like tampering with the water or taking plant samples. You are ten sent on a mission to follow them into the woods, where you see some familiar people, the leader of the evil team and the admins. They pull out a pokeball and a legendary pokemon comes out (depending on which game), now you either have the choice to fight them or report it to the gym leader, no matter what you choose, you have to fight them because they will hear you as you walk away. You fight all of the admins, but the leader makes a quick escape. After you defeat the final admin, you are told their actual plan which is to bring this region to its knees, wither by flooding it with huge surges from the rivers, destroying all of the settlements and wildlife, or growing so many plants and trees, creating an overabundance of oxygen, causing the islands to be very flammable, and then burning it to the ground, so they can take this region as their own. You then run away, and tell the gym leader.
After your encounter with the savi company, you are a little shaken up, knowing that your home could soon be destroyed, unless you stop them. You then go to collect your 10th gym badge in qaravi (nabua, but moved to the weird peninsula thing)
Finally, you are able to challenge the rokova elite 4, victory road and champion. Victory road is its own island, called bolebole (taveuni island), you fight trainers on victory road until about half way, where the first elite 4 member is, after you fight them, you are back on victory road, there are no more trainers to challenge, only very strong pokemon, correlating to the elite 4 members type, and about every ⅛ of the path there is a new elite four member. After they are all beaten it is time to fight the champion, you head along victory road, super strong wild pokemon are appearing with no type in mind, in post game, you can find the legendary birds. Right as you get to the champion, you hear a ringing on your rotom phone, its professor banyan, they tell you that they think that the savi company is launching their attack, with water levels rising, or plants growing insanely fast. You then go and fight them, and catch the legendary. You then go and defeat the champion, and you are not allowed to use the legendary. You are then crowned champion of the Paratasi Region!!!

Episode 125: Doug Out
“It can't be all ‘Bam!’ ‘Pow!’ action all the time.”
(First things first: Lamar Abrams’s delightful promo art leans away from traditional cards with the title and storyboarders, and this is my favorite of the bunch. He really knocks the visual pun out of the park.)
Dr. Maheswaran is a titanic presence in her daughter’s life, and while she does have a canonical first name—Priyanka, according to Ian Jones-Quartey—it says a lot that the show itself only presents her as “Doctor” or “Mom.” She, not Doug, is the person Connie must reconcile with in Nightmare Hospital. She, not Doug, is the one that’s late picking Connie up in Storm in the Room. She, not Doug, takes the role of Yellow Diamond in Stevonnie’s psychic dream from Jungle Moon. And Doug, as should be clear now, has a first name that we actually hear on the show. Hell, it’s in the name of the episode.
Doug’s status as a background character allows his characterization to be more fluid than his wife’s. In Fusion Cuisine, which is a weird episode period in terms of Maheswaran behavior, he tells a joke to break the tension and disapproves of Steven and Connie hugging. In the far superior Winter Forecast, he’s frustrated with Greg in the bad timelines, appreciative of Greg’s cherry sweater in the good timeline, and we learn that he can’t drive in the snow (but thinks he can). Connie has told us that her parents are strict, which logically means he’s strict, but we see more impatience than strictness in his voiced appearances.
None of what we’ve witnessed lines up too well with the Doug we get in Doug Out: sure, we’ve seen his awkwardness, and I guess his tendency towards jokes at inopportune times means he can be funny, but he’s super silly in this episode. Normally such a huge shift in characterization would bug me, buuuut:
Doug is such a minor character that it’s not a huge deal that his personality adjusts to fit the story better, and
We’ve only seen Doug with Dr. Maheswaran nearby and I can totally buy that he acts differently when she’s not around.
It would’ve been nice for the canon if a little more of Doug’s behavior from Doug Out had been established earlier, but yeah this isn’t a dealbreaker for me. It’s already weird that Connie said in Bubble Buddies that her family moves around a lot because of his security job, considering they don’t move at all over the course of the show and her mother’s job certainly pays more than her father’s, so at least showing Doug at work lends some consistency to her claim.
Entering the episode by pulling a prank on Steven is a succinct way for the show to tell us this is a new Doug. We do get references to the Maheswarans being all about safety, namely his concern over Steven's hydration after eating salty fry bits, but he’s simultaneously silly with the kids and proud that his daughter is a “swashbuckling swashbuckler.” Plus his dopey smile is the same as his daughter’s dopey smile and it’s the most precious thing in the world.
There hasn’t been any indication that Connie is distant from her father, despite his lack of screentime; in fact, one of my favorite unspoken bits of characterization for the family is how she (and through her, Stevonnie) often wears his signature flight jacket. But it’s still great to see them get along so well, keeping up the light mood from the beginning of the episode and amplifying it through paternal playfulness.
While bringing kids along for a security mission after hours doesn’t sound like something an ultra-responsible parent would do, I choose to see it as a sign of Doug’s respect for his kid and her friend. He knows they’ve handled dangerous situations before, and it’s neat to see him acknowledge this by allowing them to ride along. Moreover, the whole point of the episode is that he doesn’t think his job is exciting, so it’s not like he thinks he’s throwing the kids into a violent situation. And considering he wants to see more action like his daughter does in missions or his wife does in the hospital, I’m glad that this jealousy never turns petty or mean-spirited: this wasn’t a given, as he’s been unfriendly in the past. Doug sort of rules in this episode, and it’s nice that veteran voice actor Crispin Freeman finally gets something to do with him.
The goofiness isn’t limited to Doug, as half of what makes him great is his playing along with Connie and Steven’s prepackaged goofiness. The kids are in top form in Doug Out, dressing as ridiculously-named parodies of Carmen Sandiego and Mario while they’re on the case (Connie’s assertion that Pizzapoppolis sounds more Greek than Italian is in contention with her bemoaning the laws of physics in the Gravitron for the best “Connie’s A Nerd” joke of the night). They’re down to mess around and ruin a teen’s night, and I’m here for it.
Still, I wouldn’t call this a full-on goofy episode, particularly when it evolves into a sequel of sorts to Gem Hunt. Aivi and Surasshu’s soundtrack evokes exaggerated noir as Doug talks shop, but shifts to a menacing drone as the trio encounters evidence of something sinister afoot at Funland. Steven and Connie stay in-character during the chase, but drop the act when discussing the possibility of a Gem Mutant or Homeworld Gem. Whatever they’re hunting is clearly hunting them, and perhaps the most impressive aspect of Doug Out is maintaining a tone of genuine looming danger that isn’t undermined by the episode’s numerous jokes.
The mystery, as in Gem Hunt, is complicated by a red herring. During Connie’s first big mission we’re led to believe that a Corrupted Gem might be healing itself, given the multiple distinct footprints, but we learn in the third act that it was Jasper all along. This time we get a wide array of dangerous possibilities, so the third act Onion reveal initially comes as a relief. But we’ve never seen him this scared before, and his distinct silhouette doesn’t match that of the shadowy figure on the roof.
Before we can think about the hints that Onion isn’t our perp, the focus shifts back to Doug as we conclude his character’s episode-long arc. He wants to be taken seriously, projecting a badass vibe that’s often undermined moments later by an intentional joke (like calling his daughter by her “Cucamonga” alias with a straight face) or by the emergence of his inner square (pretending to be undercover by removing his glasses then instantly relenting because he needs them to see). He’s not incompetent, correctly deducing that the culprit isn’t a regular teen and quieting the children to listen for clues, but he’s just a normal security guard in a family with a surgeon and a kid hero. You can’t blame the guy for developing a bit of an inferiority complex.
So again, I really appreciate that his behavior doesn’t devolve into toxic overcompensation, because that’s the obvious route to go and it would’ve made this episode so much worse. He respects the kids and doesn’t pretend he needs to protect them, and he doesn’t let his desire for action let him get in over his head—in another similarity to Gem Hunt, he stresses the importance of calling for backup instead of stubbornly going it alone. When Connie talks about how much she loves and values him, we’re allowed to feel it, because she’s reiterating what we’ve seen rather than letting a petty control freak off the hook.
We’re coming off another terrific Dad Moment in Lion 4, but Greg being great is par for the course. Most Dad Episodes are understandably about him: other father/child relationships have their days in the limelight (Fryman and Peedee in Frybo, Kofi and the Pizza Twins in Beach Party, Bill and Buck in Shirt Club, and Yellowtail/Marty and Sour Cream in Drop Beat Dad), but Greg gets more focus episodes than all of those combined. So while I would’ve liked to see more of him in an arc that hinges on the phrase “my dad,” I love that we get one last new Dad Episode to kick off the end of Season 4, especially if it lets us see Connie again before her kidnapping.
Onion may be a red herring, but the whole ending with Doug and Connie’s sweet talk is another red herring, tricking us into thinking the episode is wrapping up and that despite the suspicious inconsistencies, Onion was just being Onion. Unlike Gem Hunt, our heroes don’t solve the mystery, and because they don’t, neither do we. We have more information than Steven that something sinister is afoot, with an alien threat that for some reason is going after Onion, but before our sleuths can learn more, we cut to black.
After the victories of taking the ocean back from Lapis and saving the world from the Cluster, Act III of Steven Universe is the first with a tragic midpoint, and the fallout of Steven’s sacrifice at the end of Season 4 ripples through the first third of Season 5. Episodes like Storm in the Room and Lion 4 bring plenty of angst as well, so Doug Out wisely gives us some comic relief before the sweet-and-somber flavor of The Good Lars and the tension that follows. That tension is still present here (we get a cliffhanger, after all), but I’ll take moments of pure happiness where I can. This isn’t a silly episode in the vein of The New Crystal Gems, but it’ll still be a while until we have this much fun in one episode again.
We’re the one, we’re the ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!
It’s time again to expand our Top List, from a Top Twenty to a Top Twenty-Five! Most are Act II classics that got pushed down by the sheer volume of great episodes, but Lion 4 makes the cut as well. We’ll keep it at 25 until Change Your Mind; normally I’d switch to 30 at Episode 150 to keep up the Top 20% trend, but it seems more fitting to expand when the original series concludes.
Doug Out sadly does not make the cut, but it’s still an episode I love. We’ve had plenty of cliffhanger episodes that feel incomplete, and while this one also leaves us wanting more, it still works as a full story and not just setup. And the story is great!

Variations on a Theme: "The Weird vs The Quantifiable" -- Aggregated Commentary from within the Gutenberg Galaxy
The pursuit of examining the world through philosophy, mathematics, and science tends to be seen as expanding the borders of what is known and quantified, conquering the territory of what is not yet known. In this pursuit, the investigator encounters wonder or the "weird", and what ideologically separates some philosophers and scientists from others is whether the investigator sets aside the weird as a misunderstood quirk of what is not yet known but still knowable, or the investigator takes into account the weird as a fundamental, permanent attribute of the landscape of inquiry that may perhaps always represent factors which intrinsically and inescapably evade knowledge and literary explanation, not as a bug of our understanding but as a feature of the true ontological state of affairs. The former mindset supposes that with more time and rigor, our inquiry will finally arrive at a sort of epistemological/ontological "bedrock" that dispels any sense of the bizarre, the latter treats scientific inquiry itself as necessitating the injection of a sort of subjective poetry or play to adequately do justice to the full reality of what is observed and described for our purposes, without ever expecting that we will hit such bedrock. Materialism/scientism perhaps would posit that any inclusion of the mystical or poetic in the language we use to describe the world is inappropriate, pseudo-scientific, pseudo-intellectual, or maladaptive; the mystic posits conversely that to exclude the poetic and not make room for the weird is maladaptive.
I have here a collection of excerpts from other thinkers that I think work together to allude to the mystical as a permanent fixture of our endeavors for clarification through experimentation and language, or at least suggest that a more "mystical" mindset will always be more useful than one that is conversely more in the vein of materialism/scientism trying to arrive at a "final technical vocabulary":
-------------------------------------
“We say the map is different from the territory. But what is the territory? Operationally, somebody went out with a retina or a measuring stick and made representations which were then put on paper. What is on the paper map is a representation of what was in the retinal representation of the man who made the map; and as you push the question back, what you find is an infinite regress, an infinite series of maps. The territory never gets in at all. […] Always, the process of representation will filter it out so that the mental world is only maps of maps, ad infinitum.” --Gregory Bateson, English anthropologist, social scientist, linguist, visual anthropologist, semiotician, and cyberneticist whose work intersected that of many other fields. His writings include Steps to an Ecology of Mind (1972) and Mind and Nature (1979). In Palo Alto, California, Bateson and colleagues developed the double-bind theory of schizophrenia. Bateson's interest in systems theory forms a thread running through his work. He was one of the original members of the core group of the Macy conferences in Cybernetics (1941- 1960), and the later set on Group Processes (1954 - 1960), where he represented the social and behavioral sciences; he was interested in the relationship of these fields to epistemology.
-------------------------------------
“The mind is somehow a co-creator in the process of reality through acts of language. Language is very, very mysterious. It is true magic. People run all over the place looking for paranormal abilities, but notice that when I speak if your internal dictionary matches my internal dictionary, that my thoughts cross through the air as an acoustical pressure wave and are reconstructed inside your cerebral cortex as your thought. Your understanding of my words. Telepathy exists; it is just that the carrier wave is small mouth noises.” --Terence McKenna, "Eros And The Eschaton". McKenna was called the "Timothy Leary of the '90s", an American ethnobotanist, mystic, psychonaut, lecturer, author, and an advocate for the responsible use of naturally occurring psychedelic plants. He spoke and wrote about a variety of subjects, including psychedelic drugs, plant-based entheogens, shamanism, metaphysics, alchemy, language, philosophy, culture, technology, environmentalism, and the theoretical origins of human consciousness. -------------------------------------
“If quantum mechanics hasn’t profoundly shocked you, you haven’t understood it yet. Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real.” --Niels Bohr, Danish physicist who made foundational contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum theory, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. Bohr developed the Bohr model of the atom, in which he proposed that energy levels of electrons are discrete and that the electrons revolve in stable orbits around the atomic nucleus but can jump from one energy level (or orbit) to another. Although the Bohr model has been supplanted by other models, its underlying principles remain valid. He conceived the principle of complementarity: that items could be separately analysed in terms of contradictory properties, like behaving as a wave or a stream of particles. -------------------------------------
“We have to remember that what we observe is not nature herself, but nature exposed to our method of questioning.” --Werner Heisenberg, German theoretical physicist known for the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, which he published in 1927. Heisenberg was awarded the 1932 Nobel Prize in Physics for the creation of quantum mechanics. He also made important contributions to the theories of the hydrodynamics of turbulent flows, the atomic nucleus, ferromagnetism, cosmic rays, and subatomic particles, and he was instrumental in planning the first West German nuclear reactor at Karlsruhe. -------------------------------------
“We have no right to assume that any physical laws exist, or if they have existed up to now, that they will continue to exist in a similar manner in the future.” --Max Planck, German theoretical physicist whose discovery of energy quanta won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1918. Planck made many contributions to theoretical physics, but his fame as a physicist rests primarily on his role as the originator of quantum theory; the discovery of Planck's constant enabled him to define a new universal set of physical units (such as the Planck length and the Planck mass), all based on fundamental physical constants upon which much of quantum theory is based. -------------------------------------
“There is no such thing as philosophy-free science; there is only science whose philosophical baggage is taken on board without examination.” --Daniel Dennett, American philosopher, writer, and cognitive scientist whose research centers on the philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, and philosophy of biology, particularly as those fields relate to evolutionary biology and cognitive science. A member of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, he is referred to as one of the "Four Horsemen of New Atheism", along with Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and the late Christopher Hitchens. -------------------------------------
“Things themselves become so burdened with attributes, signs, allusions that they finally lose their own form. Meaning is no longer read in an immediate perception, the figure no longer speaks for itself; between the knowledge which animates it and the form into which it is transposed, a gap widens. It is free for the dream.” --Michel Foucault, French philosopher, historian of ideas, social theorist, and literary critic. Foucault's theories primarily address the relationship between power and knowledge, and how they are used as a form of social control through societal institutions. His thought has influenced academics, especially those working in communication studies, anthropology, sociology, cultural studies, literary theory, feminism, and critical theory. Though often cited as a post-structuralist and postmodernist, Foucault rejected these labels. -------------------------------------
“When the mind projects names and concepts on what is seen through direct perception, confusion and delusion result.” --Patanjali, sage in Hinduism, thought to be the author of a number of Sanskrit works. The greatest of these are the Yoga Sutras, a classical yoga text. -------------------------------------
“The man who says that he has no illusions has at least that one.” --Joseph Conrad, Under Western Eyes (1911). Polish-British writer regarded as one of the greatest novelists to write in the English language. Conrad wrote stories and novels, many with a nautical setting, that depict trials of the human spirit in the midst of what he saw as an impassive, inscrutable universe. Heart of Darkness is among is most famous works. Conrad is considered an early modernist, though his works contain elements of 19th-century realism. His narrative style and anti-heroic characters have influenced numerous authors, and many films have been adapted from, or inspired by, his works. Numerous writers and critics have commented that Conrad's fictional works, written largely in the first two decades of the 20th century, seem to have anticipated later world events. -------------------------------------
“I learned very early the difference between knowing the name of something and knowing something.” --Richard P. Feynman, American theoretical physicist, known for his work in the path integral formulation of quantum mechanics, the theory of quantum electrodynamics, and the physics of the superfluidity of supercooled liquid helium, as well as in particle physics for which he proposed the parton model. For contributions to the development of quantum electrodynamics, Feynman received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1965. He assisted in the development of the atomic bomb during World War II and became known to a wide public as a member of the commission that investigated the Challenger shuttle disaster. Along with his work in theoretical physics, Feynman has been credited with pioneering the field of quantum computing and introducing the concept of nanotechnology. -------------------------------------
“The critical ontology of ourselves has to be considered not, certainly, as a theory, a doctrine, nor even as a permanent body of knowledge that is accumulating; it has to be conceived as an attitude, an ethos, a philosophical life in which the critique of what we are is at one and the same time the historical analysis of the limits that are imposed on us and an experiment with the possibility of going beyond them.” --Michel Foucault -------------------------------------
“In mystical literature such self-contradictory phrases as ‘dazzling obscurity,’ 'whispering silence,’ 'teeming desert,’ are continually met with. They prove that not conceptual speech, but music rather, is the element through which we are best spoken to by mystical truth. Many mystical scriptures are indeed little more than musical compositions. “He who would hear the voice of Nada, 'the Soundless Sound,’ and comprehend it, he has to learn the nature of Dharana…. When to himself his form appears unreal, as do on waking all the forms he sees in dreams, when he has ceased to hear the many, he may discern the ONE—the inner sound which kills the outer…. For then the soul will hear, and will remember. And then to the inner ear will speak THE VOICE OF THE SILENCE…. And now thy SELF is lost in SELF, THYSELF unto THYSELF, merged in that SELF from which thou first didst radiate.… Behold! thou hast become the Light, thou hast become the Sound, thou art thy Master and thy God. Thou art THYSELF the object of thy search: the VOICE unbroken, that resounds throughout eternities, exempt from change, from sin exempt, the seven sounds in one, the VOICE OF THE SILENCE. Om tat Sat.” (H.P. Blavatsky, The Voice of the Silence). These words, if they do not awaken laughter as you receive them, probably stir chords within you which music and language touch in common. Music gives us ontological messages which non-musical criticism is unable to contradict, though it may laugh at our foolishness in minding them. There is a verge of the mind which these things haunt; and whispers therefrom mingle with the operations of our understanding, even as the waters of the infinite ocean send their waves to break among the pebbles that lie upon our shores.” --William James, Varieties of Religious Experience. American philosopher and psychologist, and the first educator to offer a psychology course in the United States. James was a leading thinker of the late nineteenth century, one of the most influential U.S. philosophers, and has been labeled the "Father of American psychology". Along with Charles Sanders Peirce, James established the philosophical school known as pragmatism. James also developed the philosophical perspective known as radical empiricism. James' work has influenced intellectuals such as Émile Durkheim, W. E. B. Du Bois, Edmund Husserl, Bertrand Russell, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Hilary Putnam, and Richard Rorty, as well as former US President Jimmy Carter. -------------------------------------
“Metaphysical assertions, however, are statements of the psyche, and are therefore psychological. … Whenever the Westerner hears the word ‘psychological’, it always sounds to him like ‘only psychological.’” --Carl Jung, “Psyche and Symbol”. Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. Jung's work was influential in the fields of psychiatry, anthropology, archaeology, literature, philosophy, and religious studies. Jung worked as a research scientist at the famous Burghölzli hospital, during which time he came to the attention of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis. The two men conducted a lengthy correspondence and collaborated, for a while, on a joint vision of human psychology. Among the central concepts of analytical psychology is individuation—the lifelong psychological process of differentiation of the self out of each individual's conscious and unconscious elements, a process which Jung considered to be the main task of human development. He created some of the best known psychological concepts, including synchronicity, archetypal phenomena, the collective unconscious, the psychological complex, and extraversion and introversion. -------------------------------------
“God is a psychic fact of immediate experience, otherwise there would never have been any talk of God. The fact is valid in itself, requiring no non-psychological proof and inaccessible to any form of non-psychological criticism. It can be the most immediate and hence the most real of experiences, which can be neither ridiculed nor disproved.” --Carl Jung -------------------------------------
“Daniel C. Dennett defines religions at the beginning of his Breaking the Spell as ‘social systems whose participants avow belief in a supernatural agent or agents whose approval is to be sought,’ which as far as Christianity goes is rather like beginning a history of the potato by defining it as a rare species of rattlesnake…. He also commits the blunder of believing that religion is a botched attempt to explain the world, which is like seeing ballet as a botched attempt to run for a bus.” --Terry Eagleton, Reason, Faith, and Revolution. British literary theorist, critic, and public intellectual, Eagleton has published over forty books, but remains best known for Literary Theory: An Introduction (1983). The work elucidated the emerging literary theory of the period, as well as arguing that all literary theory is necessarily political.

So that “nice girls finish last” sex worker blocked me, unsurprisingly.
And I’m thinking about how intensely pretty much everyone reacted, especially to the idea it was general dating advice.
And... I never quite got past the tone Discworld is written in, so I might be missing some bit of context, but my gf told me something the other day that comes from it that she thought might make sense to me:
“Evil begins and ends with seeing people as objects.”
And while a lot of us seem to disagree on what exactly “empathy” is, it seems a lot of us agree on that.
And that’s the thing I think people were reacting to when hearing that that person was a sex worker wasn’t enough to make them less horrified by that post or by the women praising it.
Which is part of why I think it’s important to recognize that emotion is part of morality for us--we don’t just evaluate “you are a queen, he needs to recognize that, because you are ‘high value’ and he is not” as “misandry” and assert “misandry is wrong”--we also FEEL WEIRD seeing someone act like that. It BOTHERS many of us, both rationally AND emotionally.
And a fair number of the men who were acting put off by it were neurodivergent, simply because... a lot of ND men are mutuals of mine. I might be Ntishly typical minding, but I honestly thought they were upset or uncomfortable at being talked about like objects, not making a rational assessment of the post’s points.
I don’t so much care how intense the emotions are or how warm and fuzzy--I just think that saying “some people are moral without emotion” is pretty selective, and ignores how much of moral reaction is “oh my god what the fuck” when someone dehumanizes someone else, or “holy shit thank you” when someone actually sticks up for someone who’s oppressed.
And--I’ve said this before, but I think the communication disconnect is that--the thing I’m talking about is dehumanizing others, is forgetting they have a perspective or convincing yourself their perspective doesn’t matter. I think a piece of that is not emotionally responding to them, as shown actually by that post.
Remember “don’t share your body too soon, as you might fall in love?”
That parses to me as “don’t do anything that might result in you getting attached. In order to treat people like this, you have to studiously avoid possible attachment.”
And that’s the thing I’m talking about--that lack of attachment and lack of emotion and dehumanization are all connected. Not one to one, not exactly, but... one definition of “not having empathy” is “not being able to imagine oneself in another person’s shoes.”
Which... why wouldn’t being better at that make you more moral? And why would it be completely independent of having emotions about that person?
That’s why I’m confused--because any time I see people talking about behavior they see as immoral, they seem to be upset by it (and maybe even kind of uncomfortable by other people not being similarly upset--see the many people who said “this isn’t just about being a sex worker though” TO ME when I said “this is upsetting to me but may be partially about a persona.”)
Immoral behavior bothers us. I don’t know how to explain why that is, and no--I actually don’t know whether it universally bothers everyone who behaves well, considering every possible neurodivergence.
But it bugs most decent acting people I’ve encountered, NT or no, and... I know people are trying to say I’m dismissing their experiences, but I don’t understand how you could judge something as immoral and yet not be bothered at all by it. And it’s possible I’m simply terribly unimaginative, but I don’t feel like anyone’s shown me what that’s like yet.

hey! can i have a partner or a team please! whichever is best for you! 💕
my star sign is cancer, my mbti is enfp, and my enneagram is 6w5! my hogwarts house is gryffindor, and i believe my patronus was a dragon? that or a thestral - i can’t remember which i got last time, haha.
my favourite colour is a soft lavender-blue, but i like most soft colours, like pink, yellow, green, orange - you name it! my favourite places are either bustling cities, old towns with lots of scenery, architecture and history, or out in nature. i really like cathedrals and other beautiful buildings!
i’m a passionate person, and i also get pretty excitable - i’m easily pleased, and i always love to get involved in the things i enjoy! i’m pretty empathetic, and i care deeply about everybody i meet - i love helping others, and i’m always there to listen! around groups of friends, i tend to take on a nurturing, leader-like role - but i’m just as content being a follower too! i like backing people up and making them feel safe around me. however, i’m also stubborn, and don’t ever know when to quit. i can sometimes seem a bit forgetful or scatterbrained, but i’m also pretty kind and playful. patient while also being extroverted.
i really love storms - almost as much as i do the summer heat - and i hope to be a zoologist! animal behaviour and ecology have always fascinated me - as has ancient history (particularly the military side, haha).
thank you in advance! i hope your blog goes well 💕
Hey there!
Thank you for the first submission and the shout out on your blog! That is really appreciated, and thank you again for your patience :)
I read through all Pokémon to have better ideas of maybe hidden meanings I didn’t know about. I found a lot of Pokémon for your profile, and actually had a hard time picking 6 among a dozen. Here’s my input though.
I also can’t help but notice that we have a lot in common ^o^
Your partner is…
Riolu.
• Known as the Emanation Pokémon, Riolu is not all about brawls. It is very sensitive to a type of energy called Aura. Although it doesn’t fully understand the powers it may have, it can still sense and see them, and that makes it extremely empathetic, just like you!
• As it can see and feel other people’s emotions like happiness or anger, you and it wouldn’t have any problem communicating or understanding each other ! A mere look would suffice for you guys to bond.
• But this sixth sense comes along a superhuman strength with this little dude. As a very stubborn and determined Pokémon, it would be the perfect companion for the Gryffindor at heart that you are! Besides, looking through my Pokédex, three words come up to describe it : playful, energetic (excitable) and loyal. Sounds familiar?
• You guys would make an awesome duo, as it would be there to protect you just like you would protect it, and you would share a friendship a lot of people would envy you. It would have no problem walking out in nature by your side, or exploring ancient buildings, and its loyalty would know no limits. How lucky you are!
How about the rest of the team, now ?
Tricky, isn’t it? I can see a lot of Pokémon that would love to have some adventures with you. Let’s see. I see something very small. It seems to be a bug.
Cutiefly.
• Cutiefly is one of the smallest Pokémon ever discovered so far. As innocent as it may look, this little fairy bug knows more than one trick and is also very much connected to the realm of auras and emotions. I can see it being the Pokémon that you would encounter right after Riolu.
• A lot of people misunderstand it because of its size, but you too might very well get along. Capable of detecting auras in living things, it can predict the movements of its opponents in battle. However, Cutiefly tends to pick up on the strong emotions of the living beings around it, and it can let those emotions overwhelm it a little due to its gentle and kind nature. This is why he is drawn to people, especially people with a good heart like yours.
• You can find one in fields or meadows, especially during the summer time as they do like the climate. However, a lot of Cutiefly are also very much attracted to the city, and notably old towns or buildings. Why, you may ask? Because all the emotions and feelings packed in those places attract them! Like you, they find the beauty of those feelings endearing, and seek those old, memory charged places.
• This is why your Cutiefly would be more than happy to go on a trip with you, whether it’d be a warm meadow, or an old church.
Another Pokémon soon joins the duo. He’s green, and very intimidating for such a small size.
Bulbasaur.
• Ah, yes. Bulbasaur was one of the first Pokémon that came into my mind while getting to know you. An extremely loyal person that likes to help others and take the position of leader when needed? Bulbasaur can get behind that idea!
• It is not by pure chance that Bulbasaur is a Pokémon professors give away to young trainers. Those cute little Seed Pokémon are known to be friendly and extremely protective. In a group, they often assume the role of guardian, in a very natural and casual way. They often like to carry the young ones with their vines to rock it in the air, too !
• Nurturing and friendly, they often are casual leaders and will not boast about it. Besides, they love to rest outside, bathing in sunlight.
I see those three Pokémon forming a trio very dear to your heart. However the team doesn’t stop there. I can see more companions, eager to make themselves known to you.
Baltoy.
• Baltoy is probably the only member of your team that doesn’t look like an animal. However, the mystery around it makes it even more interesting, doesn’t it?
• Intriguing and fascinating, Baltoys have been known to populate the planet since thousands of years. It is said that humans made it out of clay during the ancient times, a time where it started to guard its human creators through many centuries. Paintings on cave walls proved this statement.
• Nowadays, you can find those weird looking Pokémon in ruins, graveyards, or buildings that have a deep connexion to the past. As a living being bond to History, Baltoys are regularly being studied by researchers that discovered they often cry in unison when they’re reunited. Some believe they’re grieving their friends, gone hundreds of years ago.
• As a trainer fascinated with History and old architecture, Baltoy will most likely be your guide to the most breathtaking sites of the world while having find a new friend to protect.
Electabuzz
• This one is bigger than the rest. It might also appear less friendly but don’t let yourself be fooled by its demeanor! Electabuzz are very excitable Pokémon that are overwhelmed with the energy stored in their big fuzzy body.
• It often makes them restless or mischievous, but it doesn’t mean yours can’t have a big heart. Although it can be found near power plants for its energy, you can meet Electabuzz in grasslands. Those creatures love thunderstorms, just like you do, and even feed from them.
• This is why they will often chase them to get recharged in energy, and your Electabuzz will probably guide you to some of the most spectacular storms you might ever see, without putting you in danger! It is said that it is quite a show to watch them recharging, especially if they’re struck by lightning. Be careful though, as it can sometimes be a bit unaware of its strength!
Gabite
• Made popular by Cynthia, Sinnoh’s Champion, Gible and its evolutions are known to be very tough Pokémon to care for. However, I am not surprised to see why this Gible would evolve by your side to become a Gabite.
• The sharks of the sand often get a lot of attention from those who love to study the behavior of Pokémon, and their Dragon type makes them even more complex and interesting to get to know, doesn’t it?
• Gabite are fierce, predatory Pokémon that will protect their territory no matter what. I find it similar to how you care a great deal about your loved one’s safety. Along with Riolu, Gabite would be the most fearless warrior of your team and would protect the 5 of you without a second thought.
• Besides, he shares with you that stubbornness that makes him unable to see where he should stop once he’s involved in something.
• Did you know that his scales had medicinal properties? Yes, Gabite doesn’t only protect his group with his body! Its scales can heal most illnesses, and what’s best for a caring soul like yours than to be friends with a strong Pokémon that has healing properties?
Yes, I could very much see those Pokémon surrounding you. However, I see some other shapes appearing along these ones. Maybe you would also be happy to own a Mimikyu, a Kangashkan, a Mudbray or a Galvantula? Only time will tell. In the mean time, thank you a lot for trusting the witch for today.
I hope you like your team ^o^ That was an awesome experience, please feel free to ask for another option if one just doesn’t feel right! I really had a hard time choosing between a lot of them, so if you liked one of the four I mentioned last, I can totally switch one or even give you a brand new Pokémon :)
