Imagine a whumpee who isn’t able to lie. Maybe they’re cursed or maybe they’re a fae (my favorite idea) but either way, they have to tell the truth. The whumper knows exactly how they feel about their circumstances and they can’t hide anything from the caretaker either. It just makes them much more vulnerable and adds emotional whump potential too. It could also be interesting to see them try to hide things or be misleading without outright lying. It was just a random thought.

Okay, so you’ve accidentally stumbled upon one of my FAVORITE tropes! It happened in one of my fandoms a long time ago and boom, I was obsessed. My favorite part of it is the word traps both characters can end up doing- Whumper trying to word everything to get the answer they want, Whumpee trying their hardest to find loopholes that let them come as close as they can to lying. My other favorite part is when it’s unintentional- someone asks a question as a joke or an offhanded comment, only for Whumpee to take it seriously because they don’t have any other choice.

In conclusion this trope rocks harder than a Rolling Stones concert, everyone go use it.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? What’s up with how the dunmeshi fandom just lies about this kind of stuff all the time. It is easily confirmable information that it was a monthly series, something incredibly common in the industry.

A not weekly magazine schedule is literally common !! Especially in the seinen shoujo and josei demographics, sometimes monthly, sometimes biweekly, sometimes every two months, sometimes seasonal! Please stop lying about how Dunmeshi was some special unique creation that defies all standards of manga just to hype it up because it is so clear that every single one of these comparisons is centered around Weekly Shonen Jump (and understand that SJ has many magazines under its brand that are monthly or semimonthly). Not everything is WSJ and it needs to stop being the only point of reference in conversations like this 🤧
