I received a question longer than 8 parts that Iām going to post here (it was off anon, so Iām not revealing the identity of the question asker). Iām not going to answer it because my FAQ very clearly sets an 8 question limit and also as you will see it didnāt actually provide a lot of useful information despite the length. I am however going to talk through some of the issues, specifically relating to unnecessary information. Needless to say this will be a very long post hence the read more link.
Before I begin I want to give the origins of the 8 question limit:
-itās an arbitrary number. felt it was generous and iirc I did go back and look at some past questions to see what was on the longer but still reasonable side
-I did it mainly because copying and pasting each individual question is tedious and also there is a limit to how much Iād like to read and also some people see āno more than 8 partsā and instead of interpreting this as āI should edit myself as thoughtfully as possibleā say āI should expand whatever I have to say to 8 parts long, even if it really is only 6 parts worth of materialā so 8 was a number I could live with.
-I have yet to find an 8+ part question that couldnāt have been edited to a much shorter question while still keeping the same amount, case in point:
I'm asking for outside help because I've been on a hamster wheel for years where I believe I found my type get happy for a couple hours/days, find all the "signs" of me being that type all along and then...wake up not believing it. Or I see/read something that type is supposed to do/think like that doesn't fit me at al, or see someone I'd like to be like that it's another type and start digging again. I desperately need to arrive at a final typing because it's driving me crazy, I can't quit 1/9
Any preamble that amounts to ācould you please type meā can be summarized to ācould you please type me?ā, a 5 -word phrase. This might however be the preamble that hits the most of my āoh I do not want to engage with thisā buttons though:
Long and pleading which makes me kind of uncomfortable, like I do not know you and I donāt handle pleading and begging well anyway
Overinvestment in figuring out their type when often itās times like this when taking an extended break from MBTI would likely be the best thing for you and indeed your overemphasis in getting an answer rather than learning about yourself might be whatās making it so hard to type
Also when someone says theyāve been trying and trying for years I get nervous because there is a very real chance theyāre going to say a lot of stuff that is consciously or unconsciously pulled directly from MBTI descriptions and itās going to be absolutely useless to work with.
[I should note for this and the rest of my criticism: I have, obviously a whole lot of preferences and dislikes and expecting you to cater to all of them would be completely ridiculous. Had this been an 8-part question I would have answered it, even if that answer might have been āI canāt tellā. As is, however, Iām hoping this might serve as some insight into how to make your question as good as possible which as a bonus will make me more likely to spend lots of time on it because I will be impressed and delighted by your effort.]
When interested in something I gotta find out how it works, or how itās made. I find that as interesting as the thing itself. I see the way different elements can influence each other in arriving at a certain outcome, and I make decisions according to it. I trust my own reading of whatās probably going on. I trust patterns, things are often connected, not a coincidence. I usually judge fast and hard. I can change my mind very quickly if new facts comes in, but Iām very rarely neutral or 2/9
Some examples would be nice. I mean maybe this person is intuitive and maybe a thinker, although that first preamble didnāt sound very thinker to me, but also everything here is purely in the realm of subjectivity. Obviously weāre going to be subjective about ourselves, but a big part of why I want examples is that it forces people to not say stuff that sounds like itās ripped directly from a type description.
or uncertain about things/people.I donāt like to make promises because of independence and not wanting to promise what I canāt deliver. I dedicate so much time to my personal hobbies I forget my chores. I tend to get obsessed in finding an answer to something until I get so dizzy/overwhelmed Iām forced to step back (typing myself in different theories is the best example). Hate to see people passing on wrong information and therefore misleading others. I gotta step up and correct them. 3/9
This is fine, Iād still like clearer and more specific examples but itās fine; the one criticism is when someone starts taking about how they approach MBTI as an example in typing them itās like PLEASE DO A HOBBY THAT ISNāT ABOUT NAVEL-GAZING, IT WILL IRONICALLY BE MORE HELPFUL.
I have very high standards, specially towards myself. My pride is heavily tied to being great at the things I care about, or am expected to perform. Really canāt stand biased judgements and behaviour by others, and police it in myself too. Truth is my #1 value. I have a natural thirst for and ease at handling a lot of data about whatever Iām interested in. One of biggest pet peeves is resistance to facts. Iām highly observant of things and people around me, thereās so much information I get 4/9
Ā Okay this sounds kind of like a repeat/rephrasing of a lot of the information in the first two actual content parts (talking about interests, thirst for knowledge, judgement), and editing that down probably could have saved you an ask space thus getting you your answer. If you find yourself running long, go back and see if you are repeating yourself. I do this a lot! When I make blog posts here I donāt care, because this is my place and I do what I want, but I have a tendency to ramble in emails too and I always do a second pass if itās longer than a paragraph to make sure all the information in there is helpful in making the point I need to make and isnāt repetitive (unless my point is DONāT FORGET THIS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD in which case some thoughtful repetition is often good).
advice, or cried in front of others myself so I canāt relate.Iām very open minded when it comes to physical differences, cultures, orientations etc. But I have a Strong sense of wrong and right that when crossed leads to indignation and promptly ācancealingā people, cutting them off my life. I felt very uneasy when I realized that things I felt a connection to (favorite color, number, animal, flower) lost their meaning to me. Logically I know itās not a big deal, but it felt like I lost 6/9
so I think we lost a question here (I got 9 questions, but the last question said 10/10) which is another reason to keep it short ā fewer opportunities for tumblr to eat it. Although, had two questions been eaten by Tumblr I would have probably answered this, but thatās probably not a gamble you want to make. Anyway this is emphasizing the strong judgements again, and a little emphasis is actually fine ā it helps me know what is really important to you ā but again, if youāre running long that should be a thing to cut, after the unnecessary preamble.
something. .I need to express my thoughts/opinions, but my feelings are private.I have a huge fear of failure that holds me back. Iām terrified of finding out I suck at what Iād love to do, so I keep that as a fantasy and donāt try it out, to not kill the possibility. I have self sabotaged to keep myself in āsafeā spaces but I have realized the reason Iāve been so restless is because I have to honor my ambitions which have always been big and bold. Mistakes and deficiencies jump out at me 7/9
Ā The information here is mostly fine (although again with the expressing and strong feelings), but itās also again without examples. There have been precious few examples here, and thatās really difficult to type from ā again, Iām not saying itās easy or even fully possible to be objective about yourself, but sometimes people say āI have a thirst for knowledgeā and it means they are pursuing a PhD in philosophy, and sometimes it means they are someone who thinks that reading Wikipedia pages is a personality. [brief aside on that ā I donāt want to say reading Wikipedia pages is bad. Itās not. I do it. Yesterday I was interested in how African prints were made and I looked up the Wikipedia page on them, which after a few clicks into related subjects brought me to a page about the androgynous water deity Olukun who originated in Yoruba faith traditions, and it was super interesting. But likeā¦this is just a thing most generally curious people do and not a particularly unique or special indicator that you are smart, which is how it often seems to be intended.] Anyway my point is: examples, examples, examples. If you give specific examples I will be so much happier and more excited to type you because I actually feel like I can say something meaningful.
like neon, I can make very precise and detailed of anythingās quality in seconds. I have little patience with people that are not interested in improvement or resist positive change. Something that drives me nuts is lack of punctuality and money managing skills. Iām very annoyed by unrealistic people that ignore logic or constraints like resources. Iām equally impatient with people who only operate on whatās on the surface and is accepted as true: people who never question the common sense 8/9
Again thereās justā¦no examples. Thereās also been a lot about what this person likes and doesnāt like about other people, and that would better be taken up by information (and examples!) about themself.
or status quo, that trust everything authoritiesā or the media tells them and never do their own research.I often donāt feel the need to actually do things to see if theyāll work, or try things out to see if Iāll like them. Iām pretty certain of things even before I experience them. Iām not inclined to be diplomatic and persuade. I convince by proving something with evidence, or making they see reason through logic argumentation, and point out possible consequences of choices. I compare 9/9
Iām always a little skeptical of people who think The Media is a monolith, just in general, but thatās neither here nor there. Also, hereās a reason why examples are useful ā they provide context into the situation which addresses the very natural conflicts within people, vs. this: āI often donāt feel the need to actually do things to see if theyāll work, or try things out to see if Iāll like them. Iām pretty certain of things even before I experience themā coming from someone who just claimed they value truth above all. Likeā¦this is at least in my opinion the opposite of what someone who values truth would say, because a person who values truth would check if things worked. Which isnāt to say this person is lying ā but it means Iām going to have trouble because without, ironically enough, any evidence, which they say they like to use, I donāt know which of those conflicting statements is true or even if they are truly in conflict and just situationally dependent.
things/people a lot naturally because the similarities (and disparities) between them jump out. Itās hard for me to be really surprised at things, or at a personās character.Iām impatient with learning and doing things that involve many steps/processes. I want to learn everything fast and am just now learning to grow discipline to stick to things in the long run if I donāt see quick progress. I find half baked concepts and theories very annoying, I don't like much ambivalence or vagueness 10/10
I donāt like much ambivalence or vagueness either, but here we are. Also, saying that you tend not to stick with things in the long run and are just developing the ability to do so if you donāt see quick progress does kind of make me have questions about you desperately trying to figure out your MBTI type for years as claimed before. Less is more because it gives you fewer opportunities to contradict yourself.
Ā Anyway, the takeaway: keep your preamble short (seriously - almost every time someone goes over the 8-part limit itās at least partially because they talked about their MBTI typing journey for 1-2 asks when a single well-phrased sentence would be far more useful), keep your examples concrete and specific, focus on yourself more than what you think of others, and read what you wrote before sending it to me.

Father God's Reasons for Us Not Knowing Why
1. In suspending our need to know why, with God, we hold onto perfect submission. Where we can be more of who He needs us to be in our relationship with Him, and that is closer, in a way only submission can afford. When knowing-it-all or even a little, won't ever be enough to afford us more closeness with Father God. Some guiding reasons for why we don't always need to know why we go through troubles, hurts and sorrows in life. Whatever they may be is for the simple fact of this we know now if it wasn't ever clear before.
2. Another, and often less popular one, at least for me - is our Heavenly Father is under no contractual obligation to tell us why. As if we have anything hanging over Him, like blackmail. Our Heavenly Father is blameless, so we cannot be righteously angry with Him when He does not share all of His secrets, right away.
3. He desires for us to grow through our struggles, and past our pains, so they are not in vain. Only when we give up on this opportunity for a greater blessing, after the hurt, do we lose out on that blessing. The big reason for the big why, and all the fulfilment that comes along with it. That isn't to say when we stumble and fall and breakdown along the way, more and more, we ought to give into that. Making a cycle out of it. As some sort of fight against the Almighty's reasons for holding out on his answers to our whys. This will not work with Him. Because we cannot force anything out of Father God. For who can fight Jehovah God and win anything out Him? Not Jacob in the wilderness (Genesis 32, KJV). Or even the Satan in Heaven (Luke 10v18-24, KJV), Earth (Mark 5v6-13, KJV) or hell where He has the home ground advantage (1 Peter 3v19, KJV). It is best in our relentless pursuits for why, that we suspend all urges to fight the Father Almighty God, and give in to His direction to not knowing everything. A path along which our big reasons for our big asks do meet in Him. In the process, giving our hearts, brains and souls a puzzle-solving vacation, and just carry on with the easy piece of our complicated issues on our walk with Him. That's what He likes to do, taking care of the hard stuff to solve in our lives (Genesis 18v14, KJV; Jeremiah 32v27, KJV). In which our big reasons for our big asks of why are at rest anyway.
4. He is inviting us into conversation for what He is up to doing on our lives, for the good of those who love Him and serve Him according to His purpose, with us being right there in the mix of it to testify (Romans 8v28, KJV). Rather than conversation for explaining Himself to us like a student in trouble at the school principal's office. When neither one of us is in unforgivable trouble, but a moment of pause, for praising Him on the work that is underway for His Kingdom, and thanking Him for inviting us into that Goodness.
What helps us be mindful of all this is not forgetting:
1. We are His children under His loving, watchful eye (Matthew 10v31, KJV), even when we stumble, fall, breakdown and cry where He is ready to pick us up. Exactly where He saw us straying towards and away from Him.
2. He is always with me, the way He was for Moses and Joshua (Joshua 1v5, KJV) in their troubles, hurts, and soul numbing pains.
3. Thanking Him for being in ultimate control, and nobody else (Matthew 6v9-13, KJV; Revelation 7v14, KJV).
4. Father Jehovah God always has some Divine purpose, that is always better known down the road of our faith walk with Him. Because His foresight in purpose is always greater than our own (Isaiah 55v8-11, KJV).
5. Thank Father God for His ever prevailing Goodness that survives us into a new day, for us to get closer with Him, and in the process knowing the big reasons to out big whys more wholesomely (Lamentations 3v22-23, KJV; 1 Thessalonians 5v18, KJV). With Him, our Heavenly Father being the glue who binds it all together.
6. Whether we believe it or not, knowing when our hurts, pains and sufferings will come to and end (like how we can expect our tax returns or pay cheques exactly to the day) is absolutely, totally and completely less important than staying by His side on our walk with Him. All the way, to the meeting point of our big whys' and their big reasons (1 Peter 5v10, KJV).
7. Answering yes to Father God's invitation to grow in Him more, past the immediate cries of our whys, will never lead us astray (Matthew 19v27-30, KJV).
8. He who speaks Life directly into us, is the One Who Knows exactly what our pains, hurts and sorrows are all about (Matthew 5v3-11, KJV; Revelation 21v4, KJV). No one else of any kind of heart, mind or body can deliver us Words that enliven us into walking with His guidance, to where He - the Father needs us to be in Him.
9. Father God sets a limitation to every heartache and pain, even when it isn't obvious in any way, shape or form (1 Corinthians 10v13, KJV). What matters is we carry on, past the hurt, holding fast onto His unwavering Hand. So we might be lifted up to where He needs us to be on our walk with Him. Every step, stumble and fall along the way. Breakdowns and cries all included too.
10. The Word of God is like a shield (Ephesians 6v11-13, KJV). It protects us from all the harms of life that get in the way if our big whys meeting their big reasons. Even when don't believe the Word for what it says, or drop it because we've lost faith in it. The Word will always hold true, in our hands or anybody else's. Even the Satan's. Because my Father God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23v19, KJV). When we hold onto His unshakable Word, we'll be a lot more secure in arriving to the big reasons for our big whys. So like any soldier under attack, as we are that for our Heavenly Father. We gotta hold on tight to our shields, each one of us, against the ever greater attacks from the Satan.
11. Trusting Jesus as the Lord of our lives as the ultimate and perfect preparation for our lives' biggest whys to meet their biggest reasons, all the smaller ones included too. Because the Father our LORD Jehovah God, cares for all we care about as well.
12. Giving over our lives and wisdom for understanding our problems to Jesus Christ. So He may be our guide through our lives issues, to their reasons for happening, and comforter in the process of learning them too. As we walk with Him all along the way through eternity.
It's my prayerful hope you will all partake in this surrender to Him on having to know why for everything, for picking up a walk with the Father to His reasons for our whys, instead. Whilst rejoicing in the love of His presence all the way. In His Son's Holy name. Amen.

If youāve been around any cloth diapering groups, youāve probably heard a bit of excitement around a brand called Lighthouse Kids Company or Lighthouse Diapers for the past few months.Ā The hype train arrived at the station recently after they released their summer passport series of exclusives across a variety of retailers including Nickiās Diapers, Abbyās Lane, The Crunchy Bean, Crunchy Rosie, and Green Path Baby, the sister company of Lighthouse Kids Company, and further continues with the recent Dearest DiapersĀ release and My Sweet Pickles release coming tomorrow, 8/21/2018 at 8:30 AM PDT (11:30 AM EDT), as well as upcoming exclusives at Diaper DepotĀ expected to land in late August and Fluff & FamiliaĀ expected in September.Ā The exclusive promotion introduced a lot of people to the brand through the retailers as well as the retailers to a lot of different customers who usually shop elsewhere.Ā This also included ridiculously fast sell out times, including The Crunchy Bean exclusive āShirleyā selling out in under a minute, while the rest were all gone in under 10 minutes.
Why are Lighthouse Kids Company Diapers so Hyped?
There are a couple main reasons Lighthouse Kids Company Diapers are so popular with those who have tried them.Ā The designs are unique, andĀ the interior of the shell is a breathy jersey knit much like the interior of a lot of swim wear instead of fleece, cotton, or other warm but absorbent materials.Ā Also, the absorbency is a built-in book tongue style natural fiber in the form of bamboo with a stay dry topper on one side, making the diaper good for both potty training and younger babes and very easy to add additional boosters in that stay in place.
Unique Design and Style of Lighthouse Diapers
I think the biggest reason for the fan following is the unique designs.Ā A lot of companies will get a generic PUL or TPU that they can buy from different fabric dealers, whereas the patterns for the diapers at Lighthouse Kids Company are designed in house and consequently unique.Ā There area a few other companies with unique designs as well, however the majority of the time they look, uh, not great.Ā The designs from Lighthouse Kids Company are consistently beautiful.Ā In the most recent Go Coastal series where they partnered with another local artist from Florida, they brought elements of beach life into a unique summer diaper.Ā To top it off, most of the recent diapers have been designed in a way that makes a bad bum placement unlikely.Ā It still happens, but thatās usually just a rare unfortunate soul (such as myself with Shark Bait), and the tabs tend to be fantastic to balance it out.
Frequent Retailer Exclusive Releases and Limited Edition Prints from Lighthouse Kids Company
On top of that, the company has only been in business for about 2 years, and they have more prints and colors released than a number of decade and older diaper companies.Ā Considering theyāre unique and beautiful, it definitely gets the Pokemon āGotta Catch āEm Allā mentality going.Ā There have been a total of 53 diaper releases in just over two years, making for about one every month on average with frequency increasing.
That said, with LKCās recent rise in popularity, a lot of retailer exclusive orders didnāt include enough diapers to meet current demand, making it so many sell out incredibly quickly and a lot of people miss out on getting prints they want.Ā Consequently, this leads to people who flip the diaper on Buy/Sell/Trade pages for double or triple the retail price due to the large demand and limited supply.Ā Fortunately, thereās a very frequent release of new diapers to keep looking for new releases if those prices are a bit excessive to you, and at $20.99 for solids and $22.99 for prints at retail, the price isnāt bad.

How Do Lighthouse Kids Company Diapers Fit?
Fit of an LKC AIO with additional 5 oz booster.
For a good video on getting a proper fit from LKC diapers, I strongly recommend their YouTube video.
Lighthouse diapers run a little small due to the stretch in the TPU, the waterproofing layer of the diapers.Ā Thanks to the TPU being so stretchy, Iāve seen them comfortably fit skinny and chubby babies alike, though I know some parents arenāt comfortable with how much they need to pull the TPU to get a good fit.Ā My son weighs around 23 lbs and is very tall for 8 months old, so he is a little slimmer.Ā I canāt speak to having a chunky baby unfortunately, but I know some mamas with cute chunky babies have the diaper work for them, while some do not because they feel theyāre too tight in the thigh without any riser snaps and pulling the elastic to relax it.Ā My son can go with one riser snap connected if using a booster, but generally is more comfortable without any riser snaps and the waist all the way fastened.Ā I believe the sizing for the diaper, saying they will work until the child is 32 lbs, is likely very accurate.Ā I have seen babies as small at 6 lbs wear them as well, though they advertise for kids larger than that.
That said, the diapers are incredibly trim.Ā Even with a 5 oz booster added, theyāre still significantly trimmer than a Grovia ONE or any pocket diaper Iāve used for equivalent absorbency.Ā They fit along what you would expect to be a normal underwear line, and donāt limit your babyās movement.
Ā Design of Bookfold Insert in LKC Diapers
The design of the LKC diapers is unique with the bookfold inserts.Ā There are a few AIOs available that have book tongue inserts, but like the Grovia AIO, they require an attached, snapped in booster still and do not include a dry touch side and sometimes require assembly after the wash due to it being recommend to unsnap them in the wash so as to not weaken the snaps over time.Ā There are no snaps on the interior of the LKC diaper, which with its absorbency is rather impressive.Ā There is no assembly required unless you need to use the booster, and with how slim these diapers are, it makes them great to throw in a diaper bag on the go, and incredibly fast in the laundry.Ā They dry in the same time as my fleece-lined diaper shells do on low, or in half 2/3rds the time my bamboo inserts on their own do.Ā All this while offering a dry touch side with natural fibers.Ā The only other natural fiber diaper I can think of that offers a dry touch side is the Best Bottom Heavy Wetter AIO.Ā Compared to pocket diapers, AI2s, or even other AIOs, the LKC design significantly speeds up the laundry process and makes stuffing no longer a necessity for most parents.
Adding a booster inside is simple with the bookfold insert, pulling the insert up higher as necessary for a smaller baby is also easy enough, and the insert easily catches wet and plop-able poops alike.Ā Additionally, due to the stretch, the swim diapers also work great as covers, and come with the same breathable jersey material as the AIO.

Lighthouse Kids Co Diaper Absorbency
LKC diapers come with an additional, small bamboo booster, but the primary absorbency is the bookfold insert.
Absorbency is one of the areas I find fault.Ā Iāve prepped my diapers to the point you normally would for near max absorbency, and I have yet to reach three-fourths of the 12 oz of absorbency for the bookfold insert stated by LKC per their website.Ā I even have a couple of older diapers I purchased used that had been worn many times in the past couple years that barely met the absorbency including the booster in the measurement.
My methodology for testing a diaperās absorbency is pretty simple.Ā Good used condition (GUC) diapers are nearing needing their elastics replaced and are well-loved, very good used condition (VGUC) diapers have slightly relaxed elastics and have been used pretty frequently, while excellent used condition (EUC) are typically nearly like new, though in interest of diaper science, my EUC diaper had been through the wash about 20 times.Ā I used one diaper of each type for these measurements. I weigh the diaper on a zeroed out kitchen scale.Ā Get the absorbency portion wet by soaking it in water, then wait until it stops dripping water, then I weigh it, subtracting the original weight.Ā I wonāt bore you with all the photos and math, but the numbers are in the table below.Ā The shell can also hold an additional ounce of liquid, but when youāre relying on a TPU shell and athletic jersey to absorb, youāre likely approaching the point where you learn that water resistant is not the same as waterproof.

A diaper approaching the end of its normal life without additional repairs thatās been used for years is the only one reaching the absorbency claims in my stash.Ā 7 oz of absorbency for a regularly washed AIO isnāt bad, and the additional booster is very petite for the amount of added absorbency Iāve measured, but itās definitely taking a lot more prepping than I expected to get even close to holding 12 oz in the bookfold insert.
That said, it is appreciated they list the absorbency as a number instead of vague statements like āsuper absorbentā and for āheavy wettersā given this means very different things for different people.Ā My heavy wetter pees over 40 oz at night without any additional feedings at 8 months old.Ā Another mamaās heavy wetter pees 10 oz, exceeding most AIO capacities without a booster.Ā Actual measurements are amazing for knowing what to expect!
While Iām finding the prep time to full absorbency to be unusually long compared to other bamboo and natural fibers, the LKC all-in-one (AIO) is definitely one of the more absorbent AIOs on the market, and because of its bookfold insert, itās very simple to add a 5 oz booster that will stay in place.Ā With 13 oz of absorbency, my new LKCs hold up just fine for my little guyās daily needs for a couple hours, and my GUC diaper with a 5 oz booster with the included 2 oz booster works well for naps.Ā The included booster is so trim and small, you can easily add an additional booster with it.
What Boosters Work Best With Lighthouse Kids Company Diapers?
Softbums small bamboo booster in LKC bookfold.
Really, any insert that measures shorter than 11.5 inches and 4.5 inches wide will fit in the bookfold insert just fine.Ā Currently, Iāve found the Softbums small no-prep bamboo inserts work the best with my LKC of the inserts I have plenty of.Ā Iāve also tried Grovia, random microfiber, and Geffen hemp.Ā Microfiber isnāt as absorbent and adds a lot of unnecessary bulk.Ā Groviaās cotton boosters were a bit long in the shell, as were Geffen hemp in the plus and normal sizes.Ā Geffen hemp newborn fits well, but doesnāt absorb very much.Ā The Softbums small no-prep bamboo fits perfectly inside the bookfold so you can still use the stay dry side of the insert, and I havenāt had any issues with the speed at which LKC absorbs urine to date, so found microfiber unnecessary.
Overall Opinion of LKC Diapers
I would definitely recommend them if you happen to buy one at retail price instead of double at the B/S/T.Ā $23 for an AIO with such great absorbency potential and being a natural fiber is a good price point if the fit works for your baby.Ā However, as with all cloth diapers, they donāt always work for everyone.Ā If you want to try one, I recommend one of two options.Ā One, buy a less popular diaper such as Funfetti, Violetās Garden, or Coral Cove on the B/S/T group on Facebook for retail + shipping to give them a try, or wait until thereās a multi-retailer diaper release rather than a retailer exclusive to increase the likelihood youāll be able to buy one.Ā As you can see, after I bought one, I definitely bought more, and theyāre currently my favorite diaper I own.Ā They have a trim fit, beautiful and unique prints, wash and dry quickly, easy to use bookfold style, are breathable in the summer so my son doesnāt get too warm and sweat out, and of course due to being TPU are soft.Ā Along with that, they also usually sell adorable matching bibdanas that are incredibly soft you can buy to go with the diapers as well.
That said, unless you enjoy collecting, I wouldnāt recommend paying double or triple retail for one to give them a try.Ā Iād save that for after you fall in love if you donāt need to be frugal.

Ā The truth is, I was going to use that headline win or lose. A win wouldāve been better, but at least we can now link our lede to headline by saying that the Wizards kept the Sixers at armās length.
Welcome to the Wood. The last time I did this on any consistent basis was 2012, before the Phillies totally shit in their beds and began a five-year hibernation in it. The purpose of Wood, besides making it generally difficult to pee, is to regale in tales of the previous night and celebrate our superior team. We donāt do it for all the teams because itās a lot of work (a grind, if you will) and something is lost when youāre trying to make tongue-in-cheek, not-so-thinly-veiled sexual references of sports conquest for dreadful teams. It just wouldnāt work with a team who counted among its standout stars Jerami Grant, or had Alexey Shved on the roster. But this team, your team, your townā¦ well, theyāre worthy of such loosely scheduled morning posting.
For those of you who are new here, strap in, because the last time this series had its lifeblood pumping, we wound up making a t-shirt of a pissing horse. And for you OG CB readers, WELCOME BACK. Iāve missed you. Let me grind up on your hip as we awake from our slumber.
Letās Wood!
Ā Start it off right
First, the necessaries: The Sixers lost a tight game, 120-115. Joel Embiid had 18 and 13 in 27 minutes (!!!), while Ben Simmons was borderline LeBron-like with 18, 10, 5 and 2 in 34. Markelle Fultz was, somehow, better than expected. And Robert Convington I think just hit another three-pointer from that deep, well-formed shooting pocket of his.
A loss is a loss is a stupid fucking phrase. But consider the Sixers were rolling out units that hadĀ literally never played together in a game, and two players who hadnāt yet played an NBA game, and Joel Embiidās minutes algorithm, and Jahlil Okafor and new free agent signings, and players returning off injury against a well-formed, veteran, experienced team, on the road, and, well, yeah that was impressive. Unless of course youāre from the old school Philly sports mindset, in which case you have to FUCKING HATE EVERYTHING:
Sixers showed great promise in opener last night, but it's not enough. After 4 putrid seasons, they need to win games. And they didn't.
ā Angelo Cataldi (@AngeloCataldi) October 19, 2017
This team should be beyond talking about positives in a loss. https://t.co/sfkMZCVxo2
ā Reuben Frank (@RoobNBCS) October 19, 2017
It was their first game together. Their three best players had a combined 31 games playing experience. Their point guard was coming off a near season-long injury. Their shooting guard just arrived here. And they wereĀ leading at the half against John Wall and the Wizards.
Sure, I get that this might get old if they start 2-10, but letās give them some time ā I donāt know, like A GAME ā to gel and get to know each other.Ā JJ, Iām Joel, this is my friend Jahlil. Iām just kidding, nobody likesĀ Jahlil. Want to grab a burger?
Ā The A team
Mike Breen ā āA FOUL!ā āĀ and Jeff Van Gundy calling a Sixers game. God that feels good. No Mark Jackson last night, as Doris Burke joined in the three-man (er, person) booth. Sheās great, actually. I like Jackson, too. A good āMama, there goes that manā gets me horned up for hoops action like no other. Burke gets a full-time color commentator role. But Jackson will remain a part of the A-team once the playoffs come around.
Still, seeing the Sixers get the A-team treatment from ESPN feels good. I canāt imagine this crew has called a Sixers game over the last four years. Iām too lazy to look it up, and donāt know where I would, but suffice it to say, this was rare and, I guess, unexpected. Weāve arrived. And hearing Van Gundy gush over Simmonsā height was something to behold.Ā Otto Porter is 6ā8, and Simmons is much taller than him. He might be 7ā0! Or hearing Breen remark that Simmons was playing āpoint centerā as the biggest guy on the floor. Yeah, Iām all fucking in on that.
The halftime show, on the other handā¦
Paul Pierce on Joel Embiid:
āIām tired of getting a little taste of him . I want the whole loadā http://pic.twitter.com/2VUpSZKKju
ā BLACK ADAM SCHEFTER (@B1ackSchefter) October 18, 2017
Delicious.
That group, besides mispronouncing Embiidās name and not knowing how long heās been in the league (four years), was hit or miss, though I did appreciate their loss of words at the donāt call it a minutes restriction.
Ā Rebranding the minutes restriction
I LOVE how the Sixers have rebranded a āminutes restrictionā to call it a āplan.ā Nothing escapes the arm of their very large (according to this Philly.com story about their sales and marketing efforts) marketing department.
The last two days have been dominated by coverage of the incorrectly referred to minutes restriction, which, to be fair, was a phrase born more out of media branding than the Sixers themselves (Brown was clear this week that Embiid would have a range and not a hard cap). So what do the Sixers do?Ā Letās, ah, tweak the phrasing on that.
Brett Brown after the game:
āThe rigidā¦ whateverā¦ pick a number. Itās more of a plan that we have this year rather than a restriction.ā
And Joel Embiid:
āWe gotta stop calling it a minutes restriction. I think the plan is to get out there, play, see how I feel. Thereās gonna be some games where Iām gonna be tiredā¦ but yeah, we gotta stop calling it a minutes restriction. Itās a plan.ā
Got it? Plan. Not a restriction. Or you can call it āfucking bullshit.ā
Ā Markelle Fultzās free throw form
Markelle Fultzās free-throw form still looks a bit weird.
http://pic.twitter.com/wtMSQWM9a7
ā NBA SKITS (@NBA_Skits) October 19, 2017
Yuck.
But, I thought Fultz actually played well. I think that observation is based partly on the fact that weāve all reset our expectations with him. Heās not Simmons or Embiid. Few are. Those guys are both freaks in their own regard, and itās unreasonable to expect any rookie, even the number one pick, to come out and look like a vet like those two guys have. Fultz is not only younger, but certainly more raw. Throw in the fact that he has some sort of shoulder injury and hasnāt been around an NBA coaching staff for 12+ months, and thereās going to be more of a learning curve with him. And despite his -18 number last night, I thought he played quite well. Attacked the rim, defended adequately, and wasnāt a liability out there.
But heās not going to be the player we expect until he gets comfortable with his shot again. I mean, SHOOOOOOOOOOOT:
He didnāt.
Ā Robert Covington
I want to live in his shooting pocket. Just pitch a tent there and have wild sex parties. Everyoneās welcome. He shot lights-out. That pace isnāt sustainable, but him and Redick are a dynamic 1-2 three-point threat. Add in Embiid eventually getting more of his to fall and Fultz, you know, like taking one every once in a while, and that Sixers gravity is going to be full John Mayer.
But new rule: Robert Convington should never put the ball on the floor. Just shoot it or look around and pass. Never dribble.
Ā Almost throw it down

Philly fans are the best. How many times did Breen and the rest of the crew comment on the Trust The Process chants? And it didnāt hurt that this guy was wearing a beautiful hoodie:
You can get that right here.
Ā So close
I think he meant Markelle Fultz.
Ā Embiid is the best
Joel Embiid does not care about your convention.
Ā Simmons
Ben Simmons was LeBron-like. The way he moves up the court, passes the ball, drives. It all looks so familiar.
LeBronās per-36 stats in his NBA debut (he played 42 minutes) were 21, 8, 5 and 3. Last night, Simmons had 18, 10, 5 and 2 in 34 minutes. Not bad.

RACE REPORT(S): ELLENSBURG AND PACIFIC PATHWAYS TRIATHLONS
So, itās been a while. For some reason I didnāt write a report for Ellensburg, even though it was a great race and a dope swim PR. I qualified for Age Group Nationals at Ellensburg (I was informed in an email from USAT, later on). Funny enough, my race at the Pacific Pathways Triathlon at Joint Base Lewis McChord, which wasnāt great, reminded me that I should write a race report, and maybe by combining a mediocre performance (Pac Pathways) with the memory of a better one (Ellensburg), I can build a reasonable narrative of progress. Also it wasnt that bad. Season bike PR, holla.
Full disclosure: I missed a race between these races because my car broke down the night before. Apparently, it was an amazing race, perennially one of the best ones in the area. Lake Meridian. Whatās worse, according to the finishing times I would have placed 3rd in the Super Sprint. Oh well. Shelve that as a coulda-been. Back to reality, as it understand it...
Ellensburg was the first race Iāve ever done where I spent the night in the small town where the race takes place, thus I didnāt have to wake up until 6:30, very nice, and only had to drive a few minutes over to the start line. The drive out to Ellensburg over the pass from Seattle the day before took care of the nightmarish idea of getting up at 3AM to drive for two hours before racing. Iām sure this contributed to a relaxed race and a decent performance. At Pacific Pathways, despite it being a relatively short drive (about an hour), I had to add a very ornery DMV-style wait in the predawn darkness for a civilian base pass for me and my girlfriend. Very lame. it took almost an hour, we waited with our pulltab numbers and had to have our IDs, my vehicle registration and insurance. So, if you wanna do that race next year, just remember itās actually a Quadrathlon, with the fourth discipline being a trip to the DMV.
Please take a number...
I arrived at the race itself with very little time to spare, and had to squeeze my bike into transition (which wasnāt organized by number at all - a free for all) between some others whoād budgeted more time for the DMV than I had). Stressful! I had an idea to just lean my bike against the transition area barriers, as some eventually did, but I didnāt. I shoulda. I had a hard time maneuvering in the transitions, and this was in part due to the visually cramped/adhoc nature of my transition area... Anyway...
SWIM
Maybe the biggest difference in the races. From a spring/summer full of 2,000m open water swims to really improve, I managed to eke out a 7:13 400m swim at the Ellensburg triathlon, which put me in 28th place out of the water (/113). Approximate 1:48 100s, not amazing, but definitely a PR for me in the water. And I went in relaxed, swam easy. Compare that to the Pac Pathways race, where I, with delusions of swim grandeur, went out with the front row of swimmers determined to push it, exhausted quickly and ended up out of the water in 10:09, flat 2:00 per 100, about the same as all my older, unmentionable swim splits. So, not terrible, but it was effort wasted. I go faster when I go less hard. Counterintuitive. Anyway, Ellensburg put me in T1 in a relaxed spot, ready for a great bike.
the tiny lake at Ellensburg...easy breezy swim PR... what a treat!
The swim at Pac Pathways...I found my way up to the first row...cocky bastard...
And theyāre off!
T1
At Ellensburg, a 1:14 T1: not great but comparatively decent (my T1 at Lake Wilderness Tri was 1:15). So, technically, all kinds of PRs at Ellensburg... Unfortunately I paid for it with that reckless swim at Pac Pathways; not seriously bad - 1:33 - but extra nonetheless. To be honest, when I saw the splits for transition, I was shocked it was so low. I felt like Iād been fucking around in transition for more like two minutes, but time has a way of dilating in the Tās, and you feel every second extra hard. Anyway. The lesson is: relax in the swim, if for no other reason than I wonāt go any slower, and Iāll have a nice smooth transition afterward. In general, however, until I move from my Keen sandal clip-ins to a triathlon-style bike shoe like I used to use (Sidi T1ā²s, so comfy!) and relearn my flying bike mount, I can expect that my transitions wonāt improve that much. Slipping bike shoes on wet feet with shaking hands will always cost me 10-20 extra seconds. So until then (I.e., the rest of this season), I need to focus on that lower end single-minute transition, and try and eke out a sub 1:10 T1. And relax in the swim. Of course.
THE BIKE
Really, nothing that glaringly different or bad between Ellensburg and Pac Pathways. In a way, Pac Pathways was a PR for this season (22mph over the 14.2m course), whereas Ellensburg was about the same as my other races, approximately a 21mph bike average, for the 12.4 mile course). Ellensburg was an amazing bike course. Maybe most people donāt like an out-and-back, but I knew what to expect, and was very comfortable with the fact that it was gradual uphill, headwind all the way out (~18mph) and downhill/tailwind all the way back (~30 mph). Needless to say, it was dope cruising that second half at 30 mph. At Pac Pathways, where my bike average was 22mph, I didnāt feel any remarkable calculation along the course. Chock it up to the fact that I was mixed in with a much larger group coming out of T1, and we were all constantly passing the women, who started their wave of the race 10 minutes behind men and relays (an odd choice, as it basically means all but the fastest women have to deal with dudebros passing them the entire race - is that fun???). So the distraction was in constantly passing and avoiding danger with the tetchy tri-peloton I found myself in. No drafting, in theory, but it always feels less legit to be in any kind of group/cluster during a triathlon. This isnāt ITU. Hard to avoid when youāre passing a slower wave and, of course, when I swim slower than my fitness dictates.
Compare that to Ellensburg, which felt like such a clean bike. I was only mixed in with the other T1 people for a brief moment, mounting and clicking in, and then during the odd corridor in the trees before we exited Irene Rinehart Memorial Park onto the bike course proper. I had to deal with a couple of people attempting to pass me but not quite having the gas for it, then having to re-pass one of them, frustratingly, on the turn out of the park. Out on the course, I passed a half dozen people on the slow headwind first half, and was passed myself by three or four big dudes on the way back. At Pac Pathways, however, as unremarkable/mediocre as the course felt, it was a PR for me for this season. Gotta remember that.
T2
At Ellensburg, an 0:41 T2, at Pac Pathways, an 0:56. Chock it up to the same issues of relaxation, etc., in terms of setting up / having a clean transition. Reracking my bike at Pac Pathways was an exercise in recombobulation. Not like Ellensburg, where I could visualize my transition area even before I reached it. Easy, simple, predictable. Anyway. Not every race morning is created equal.
THE RUN
At Ellensburg, another PR (21:46 = 7:01s per mile) for this season. At Pac Pathways, a typical, if slightly improved run (22:10 = 7:09s per mile, better than Lake Wilderness, Black Hills du). Not a great difference, but considering my bike PR at Pac Pathways, that run aināt bad. Itās hard not to compare any/all such performances to my lifetime PR, which makes all of this seasonās performances look mediocre, but there is improvement present here. I was very pleased with my Ellensburg run, as those flat sevens were enough for me to catch all but one of the big guys who passed me on the bike. The weather at Ellensburg was hot - it cleared up early and was cool, but by the time of the run, approximately 8:45 AM, the sun was already very intense. The run is shaded and cool for only a short portion, in the woods behind the lake, before you exit the park and cross under the highway and are out in gravel trails through prairie, totally exposed and boiling hot. The aid station manned by the kids of the local high schoolās cross country team was a welcome sight at two miles. But yeah - out on that hot run I caught four dudes who clearly crushed the bike course, very satisfying. I came in to the finish in 7th place overall, and won my age group by a handful of minutes. At Pac Pathways, the run was half through the neighborhoods towards the far end of the the park, then half through the woods in the park back along the lake to the transition/finish area by the Shoreline Park beach. Nothing remarkable to report. Because of the way the swim waves went out, it was unclear whether or not the people I passed were actually in front ofĀ me or not. If that makes sense. Iām sure I passed some people on the run, but it wasnāt something I could focus on like at Ellensburg/Black Hills/Lake Wilderness. Anyway, the ultimate result wasnāt amazing, but I still got 2nd in my AG...
ELLENSBURG
1:06:39
7th Place Overall
1st, AG 30-34
PACIFIC PATHWAYS
1:13:37 (meh)
15th Place Overall
2nd, AG 30-34

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme originally fromĀ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.Ā Itās a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things I have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on my blog.
I so forgot my Sunday Post last week, so Iāve combined the two as one big one. Not much exciting has happened these past two weeks. Been tired a lot lately, especially the last few days. My bf has a kind of flu thingy and gets a weird sleep cycle because of it, which results in screwing up my sleep as wellā¦ Feel like I could sleep for two days straight and still not have enough sleepā¦ Fell asleep on the couch at least four times in the last few daysā¦ One at night and most during the days, watching a movie or episodeā¦ Maybe itās also the winter coming down at my energy levelsā¦ Itās cold, sad weather and not much to doā¦ And especially with him having the flu, it means I canāt do a lot ā besides reading, sleeping, eating, cooking, blogging or watching an episode or movie ā I know you need your rest when not feeling well, so I wonāt bother him with too much noise and stuffā¦ But itās gets kinda boring after a few daysā¦ In combination with my sleepiness, it makes me less motivated to watch or read anything.. So it getās real boring.. Hope he feels better soon and I feel more energetic againā¦ Gotta work out tomorrow again, prepare for my first Taekwondo exam on February 3rd!!
One exciting thing that did happen was discussing out holiday. Itās becoming more permanently set and booked =]=]=]=]=] I so wanna go to Orlando and Harry Potterās Wizarding Worldā¦. Biggest issue is saving money to spend there hahahahaha
Big thingy did happen on the blogā¦. I WROTE/PUBLISHED/ MY FIRST REVIEW IN THREE MONTHS AGAIN!!!!!
This weeks posts:
What about that bookchallenge 2016 + goal 2017.
December Wrap-Up + January TBR.
The Backlist Reader Challenge 2017.
TTT#19 Top Ten 2017 Debuts Iām Excited For.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Awesomeness!!
TTT#20 Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant To Read But Didnāt Get To (But TOTALLY plan to).
#72 The Diabolic.Ā <<<<<āāāā- !!!!!!!!!!!
Ā Coming next week:
TTT#21Ā Ten Underrated/Hidden Gem Books Iāve Read In The Past Year Or So (up to you if you want it to be those published in the past year or so or just ANY underrated book youāve read recently).
Tv Thursday #7. Week 3 [need some motivation there too, donāt want to let you guys downā¦]
Maybe some reviews =]
So in the last two weeks Iāve had a great start of this yearās Goodreads Reading Challenge 2017. Iāve finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Iāve read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Quidditch Through the Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them all by J.K. Rowling and The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid.
Iām currently reading Breath of Fire by Amanda BouchetĀ [Kingmaker Chronicles #2] as a NetGalley review, Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling and Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch. After Breath of Fire Iāll start reading Halfway Bitten by Terry Maggert and/or The Gender Secret by Bella Forrest. After Snow Like Ashes Iāll start Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth. That beautiful hardcover will arrive this Tuesday and so I hope Iāve finished reading Snow Like Ashes before it arrives =]
So these two weeks I watched A LOT of episodesā¦ If youāve noticed a weird watching order with bones thatās true nothing is weird thereā¦ Apart from the fact that the first two episodes of Season 4 were a double episode and my streamer made episode 1 episode 1&2 and made episode 2 number 3 and so onā¦ So I got confused in the episode titles and figured it out after watching episode 8 hahahaā¦ A bit late, I know but Iāve watched the missing episode after allā¦
My bf finally wants to watch series again during dinner ā instead of brain-dead comedy central re-runs ā and now weāre watching Modern Family S8. Weāve watched How I Met You Mother as our dinner series before Modern Family and Youāre the Worst will probably be our next. We also watch a few others together, but mostly they wait a long time because of the snack series [HIMYM and Modern Family, eps of 20-23 minutes instead of at least 40 minutes an episode]. Those are Gotham, Marvelās Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Scorpion. The rest of the shows canāt be watched together because of work, our preferences in watching series and our progress if watching the same series.. haha we love a lot of the same things, but in some series Iām ahead of him and some heās ahead of me.. So we watch together separately mostly lol.
