This is a fine mess we're in Pt. 1 (Henry Standing Bear x Reader)
•• OMG IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I WROTE ANYTHING! I am happy to see others getting into Longmire 👀 and that may have sparked something in me to write this yesterday. I hope you all enjoy! 🥰••
One thing that was nice about living in Durant, was the stillness at night. Even for a small city like Durant was. Tonight was a quiet July Saturday night, and Henry had the ceiling fans on high to try and keep air moving throughout the bar. The sounds of the crickets and cicadas outside were almost drowning out the music coming from the jukebox in the far corner. You and Henry were busy cleaning up the bar. On Saturday nights The Red Pony closed at 2, but you both usually stayed another hour or so to get it cleaned up before leaving. Well, at least before you left. Henry lived above the bar. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw him pause and look at the clock.
“Go on home, (y/n). I can finish this in the morning.” You’d been working for the man for three years, and every Saturday night he pulled the same trick. He never finished it in the morning. It was forgotten about until Tuesday and you both had to rush to finish cleaning before you opened. You’d only let that happen a few times.
“Henry, you know damn well I ain’t doing that.” You smiled with a grunt as you flipped a chair onto a table. “It will be easier just to finish it now.” Henry didn’t have time to give a smart remark as you both jumped at the doors being swung open so hard they crashed into the walls, cracking some picture frames. A man rounded the corner.
“Hey! The bar’s closed! Sorry buddy!” You stated, looking him over. He looked like he’d gone through the wringer. His hair was jetting out every which way and he was caked in sweat. He put his hand up on the doorframe to the bar room and stumbled forward. A bloody handprint was left behind.
“I think y’all are gonna do what I tell ya.” He smirked. You took a fearful step back as he pulled out a gun from the back of his pants. While lifting his jacket you could see that he’d been shot in the lower abdomen. That explained the bloody hand. He quickly pointed it at Henry. “Now you, Cheyenne. Get over there. You too.” You and Henry complied with his order, going to stand beside the Jukebox. He motioned with his gun as he walked behind the bar. “Down on the ground, both of ya.” You crouched before leaning up against the Jukebox.
At the same time, the music shifted to a much louder song and the man snarled, showing his blood-stained teeth. “Shut that piece of junk off!” You hated seeing how your hand shook as you reached around to the other side to unplug it. Being so close to everyone at the Sheriff’s Department, you thought you’d be more than prepared for this type of scenario. You were wrong.
“What do you want?” Henry asked defiantly. His voice stayed as strong as ever. He might have been doing it for your benefit. He probably saw how scared you were. “Just take the money in the cash register and leave.” Henry dictated that last word in a much harsher tone. He laughed.
“I just hit the biggest bank in Durant, I don't need your money.” He picked up the phone before starting to dial a number. “We’re gonna have ourselves a little hostage situation. Long as that dumbass Sheriff gets me what I want, we’ll all go on our merry way and never see each other again.” He flicked his eyes upwards. “Now, just sit there and shut up.”
It was a tense few minutes of silence before the man finally started talking again. You wish he would utter his name so you didn’t have to keep referring to him as the man. It was getting kind of old.
“Yes, Deputy Ferguson, you can help me. See, I just robbed the City of Durant bank. I’d like for you to tell your boss that I’ve got two hostages down at the Indian bar by the Reservation and if my demands ain’t met, well, someone’s gonna get shot.” He shot the screen of the jukebox, just above your head, and you screamed. Glass and sparks showered over the top of you, Henry putting himself between you and the falling debris.
“Are you alright?” He whispered. “Were you cut anywhere?” You gulped down a lump of fear before you could respond.
“Y-yeah, I’m fine.” You somehow found yourself able to let out a low chuckle. “I guess I should’ve let you finish cleaning.” Henry wrapped an arm around your back and gave your shoulder a reassuring squeeze before pulling you closer to him. He pressed you right against his side. Despite the situation, you could almost feel the blush spread across your face. Henry’s eyes never left the man behind the bar, even as the lights from Walt’s bronco came through the windows, you could hear his siren blaring.
“Walt will get him. If he can not, then I will.”

DNF/Georgebur PotO & LND AU
Okay, to begin with, thank you so so much for giving me the chance to blab about this @dtvibez because I’ve always wanted to work with this AU, but I’ve just never had the characters to do it with and my musical nerd heart is thriving right now. Alright, anywhodilydo, geek-out over, let’s get into it - just a warning kiddos, this is gonna be a long one so strap in and hold on...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roles
To start off, let’s address the roles here for how I believe these plots would fit best with the characters involved - it’s purely up to individual interpretation, but these are my thoughts as an in-depth lover of these musicals.
Obviously, our dear George is the leading lady Christine Daae in this story, that was pretty much a given - let’s just be honest here guys, he’s the simp-bait through and through and if that wasn’t Christine, I don’t know what was. Meg - Christine’s friend - and her mother Madame Giry I’m going to combine and make Fundy for reasons I shall disclose later in this post, and Sapnap will have a role to discuss later down the line too, just lemme get there. Now as for the love interests, I can easily say that Eric/The Phantom is Dream and Raoul is Wilbur in this situation. Some of you might be questioning why it wouldn’t be switched because Raoul was her childhood friend and Eric was a gifted musician, but I have answers for you ahead on that, don’t you worry~ ;)
Phantom of the Opera Arc
After studying under Dream - or the Nightmare of the Opera as people prefer to call him - for years to be the star singer he was always destined to be, George is finally granted the chance to do so when some strings are pulled behind the scenes to give him a leading role in an opera. There isn’t anything George wouldn’t do for his Angel of Music after giving him such a chance at success, and Dream is practically preening with pride over how astounding his Georgie has turned out to be. Before Dream can whisk George away in triumph, however, his childhood friend Wilbur shows up out of the blue to shower him in praise and remind him of the puppy love they shared as children before George moved to the opera house. George is smitten with nostalgia, to say the least - it’s nice to put a face to the affection for once.
Needless to say, Dream is hardly pleased with this turn of events and actively tries to keep George not only away from Wilbur, but also to himself because George is quite literally all he has in the world - not even his music can compare to how much George means to him. Of course, the way he goes about this is hardly morally right and only serves to drive George further and further away from him and into Wilbur’s arms as a safe haven from all of the horrors. In the end, though, even after so much heartbreak and all the terrible things Dream’s done to keep him hostage as his muse and love, George finds it in his heart to forgive him for being how the world made him to be and genuinely offers to give up his freedom if it means he won’t be alone in that darkness anymore and Wilbur won’t die.
As expected, Dream realizes he really can’t do that George when it comes down to it - he simply loves him too much to force him to stay if it means he’d wind up hating him for it in the end. He’d rather let him be free and live the life he’s been dreaming of with Wilbur than have him stay and live the rest of his life resenting him. Even so, George is surprisingly hesitant to leave and can only offer to return the wedding ring Dream gifted him as a final goodbye and a silent show of his remaining love for him before he let’s him go in return and goes off with Wilbur. Following that night, Dream disappears from the opera house altogether, never to be heard from again...
Love Never Dies Arc - *SPOILERS*
...Or so the story goes in Paris 10 years ago. Little did anyone know, Fundy actually helped Dream steal away from the opera house when the mobs came searching for him and was unyieldingly by his side as they made their way to America for a fresh start. Once there, Dream - with a little seedy behind-the-scenes help from Fundy - founded a successful side show on Coney Island where he and others like him such as Sapnap and Punz - Miss Fleck and Dr. Gangle - are able to live freely and are treated with respect for their unique traits. Fundy has actually taken to training under Dream to be a successful singer in his own right with a well-known show in the attraction, his only goal to gain Dream’s favor and hopefully prove he’s able to replace George in his life. Dream unsurprisingly has no interest in anything of the sort and still actively mourns the loss of his muse - not even his music brings him joy anymore because it only reminds him of what could’ve been, and Fundy will never be his Georgie despite how much he insists otherwise.
But Dream is a clever thing, and he winds up securing a contract for George - who is now married to Wilbur and is raising a 10-year-old son with him - to come perform at the side show for one last performance. George takes the contract with little to no thought as to the odd pseudonym on the paperwork because Wilbur has lost himself to gambling and alcohol over the years, and they’re desperate for money to survive. At first, George is irate and somewhat heartbroken to learn that Dream’s been alive after all these years, especially after how their lives have turned out following the one night of passion they shared before he disappeared. He admits he still loved Dream when he left and would’ve gone with him, but because he thought they couldn’t be happy and left without him, that ship has long since sailed. They both wish things could have been different, but also accept that what happened happened and all they can do now is move forward with the choices they’ve made.
Much to everyone’s immense shock, though, George’s son is actually Dream’s and not Wilbur’s - a fact which Dream deduces on his own after connecting the dots between his age and musical prowess. Unfortunately, the child is terrified of Dream’s true face just as George once was and after getting the truth confirmed about the child’s real parentage, he begs for him to never know. George ultimately blames himself for what’s happened, and although he can’t take back not telling Dream of their child and the fear said child feels toward him, he swears to perform for him one last time to make up for it before they return to Paris to avoid hurting him further. Meanwhile, Dream vows everything he’s worth in the world to be the child’s once he’s gone even if he can’t be his father, and Fundy isn’t happy to hear that in the slightest because he will have nothing after all the sacrifice he’s made for Dream. All of the sleazy deals and late nights in his dressing room plying people for Dream’s success, and he will get nothing - his mind is just too fragile to face that reality at this point without doing something rash.
Naturally, Wilbur has no clue about any of this at first and makes a drunken deal with Dream regarding George - if George sings for him, he and the child will stay with Dream and Wilbur will leave. If George doesn’t sing, he and the child will leave with Wilbur with all of their debts wiped away as not to burden their family further with his problems. Wilbur then proceeds to try his best to convince George to stay with him by using nostalgia yet again since he now knows who the child belongs to as well, but in the end, George realizes that although he may have loved Wilbur at one time, his love for Dream transcends all that and has never once wavered despite everything they’ve been through. Throughout everything, Dream has always been there waiting for him and wants nothing more than for George and their child to have the life they deserve - Wilbur lost all of that a long time ago. George makes his choice, and Wilbur leaves as promised with the acceptance that he while no longer makes George happy, Dream does and he’ll take care of him - but the child, however, leaves with a distraught Fundy seeking to “right his problems.”
They manage to catch up to Fundy in time to avoid disaster, but not completely as he still views George as the reason he could never be happy with Dream and winds up fatally shooting him in the midst of a mental breakdown. Dream can do nothing but hold George - the man he loved and was finally loved by in return  - as it’s revealed to the child who his real father is, only for him to flee the scene in horror of the truth. For once, Dream is at a loss for what to do because there isn’t any more time for them to have their happy ending and he hasn’t any idea what to do about their child without George. In his dying moments, George soothingly reminds him of one simple fact: Love never dies, and the best thing he can do is just live and give everything he can for both himself and the child now as all they have is each other. With a final kiss, George slips away and a sobbing Dream is left cradling his body when the child and Wilbur - who he ran to find to help George after he was shot - arrive on the scene.
Dream isn’t cruel. He understands how Wilbur must feel in the same situation, so he allows him to mourn the loss of George in his own way with the child as he contemplates whether or not he can continue on. While he debates what to do with himself, the child slowly comes to him unafraid and willing to face the man he now knows to be his father in a new light. In his eyes, Dream can see George, and that’s more than enough for him to stay just a little longer in the world.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry if that’s a lot to process and read through, but it was a lot to get out and I wanted to be crystal clear on things as not to confuse people. This is for the most part just hitting the main plot points of the musicals, however, tweaking and adjustments and further deep-dive analyses can be done now that I’ve gotten the main idea out of the way. I definitely don’t want to stick too strictly to it myself and want to tailor it more to the SMP events and characters, but I’ll save that for later since it’s already super late and I should be writing my fic instead.
Happy writing kiddos, thank you for letting me indulge myself with this concept and I hope you enjoyed it~ <3

The first time he saw her was when she transferred into his class in the second year of high school. He couldn't take his eyes off her, her hair tied up in a low ponytail and pulled it around resting on her left shoulder as she twirled the end around her finger, later discovering it was what she always did it when she was worried or nervous about something. And god did he find it cute.
It didn't take him long to meet her as Kyoko had befriended her pretty quick and she quickly became one of the team as she was regularly come and watch them practice, becoming a joint manager with Kyoko.  The first time he got the confidence to ask her out was to the school festival. He was so happy when she agreed to go with him. They were having a lovely time until the rest of the team found them and joined them. So the first date didn't exactly go as he planned. Suga didn't let him stop him, during the week once he found out that practice was cancelled on Saturday, he was already at your desk asking if you wanted to go out together for coffee and see where the day takes them.
That was the first of many dates, it wasn't long till they were together. Noya and Tanaka were jealous of Suga, he had bagged himself a goddess, as they called her, but they still had Kyoko to dote on anyway even if she didn't give them the time of day. (Y/N) supported Suga in every way she could, from being at practices and aiding with the new first years. She was so proud of him when he made Vice-captain on the team, and when they got to national, she practically floored him with joy when they won against Shiratorizawa.
She was by his side the whole time they were at national, not wanting to miss a single match, even if they did lose in the quarter-finals she was still so proud of them. After graduation, they ended up in the same university, while Suga studied to be a primary school teacher, (Y/N) choose (degree). They got an apartment together, enjoying coming home to each other, being able to snuggle up on the sofa, watching some junk on TV.  His favourite days was when he would go back home, after a long hard day of lectures and it was one of her days off, she would be in one of his hoodies that was far too big for her, half hanging off her shoulder, as she danced around the kitchen baking some kind of goodie to some of her favourite songs. She had gradually gotten more comfortable over time with him, not wearing her make up around him. Suga didn't care if she did or didn't wear makeup or if she was a mess, or in those old faded jeans that she loved, they had paint stains on from the time she helped her grandparents decorate, to him she was the most beautiful girl in the world.
When they graduated university, he got the confidence up to ask her father permission for your hand in marriage, her parents absolutely loved him, he was the kinda guy they always wanted for there daughter, but even so (F/N) couldn't help but tease Suga a little when he asked, but her father said yes he could marry his only daughter.
He had everything planned, he had picked her favourite gemstone has for the ring with diamonds surrounding the gem. He took her away for the weekend to the beach and to a nice restaurant. While walking down the beach barefoot enjoying one another company, he finally got up the courage to ask.
"(Y/N) the past six years together have been the greatest six years, I didn't think I could love a girl as much as I love you." Her hand flew to cover her mouth as she gasps as she watched him get down on one knee, opening the small box in his hand, (Y/N) saw the (gemstone) surrounded by diamonds set on a platinum ring, it was the ring she had always wanted, how did he know, the only people she had told was, Kyoko, Yachi and the other managers at the summer training camp back in their third year.
"We have supported each other through thick and thin, we may have had our ups and downs, but we still got through them together, so I wish to ask you, will you continue to go through those ups and down's with me for the rest of our lives? Will you please become my wife?"
She nodded, tears welling up in her eyes with the biggest grin on her face "Yes! Yes, I will happily marry you!" Slipping the ring on her finger, she launched herself at him tackling him into the soft sand below them, her lips meeting his in a passionate kiss. Pulling away they lead together on the sand, (Y/N) snuggled into the light grey-haired boy side, he was over the moon, he watched as his fiancee gazed at her ring in the moonlight.
"How did you know that I loved (gemstone)"
"Do you remember when you and the other managers were talking about what kinda ring you would love if you got engaged, Kyoko had recorded you describe yours and send it to me. I have kept that mind for the last five years."
"Five years? I love you so much, Koshi, thank you. I am going to have thank Kyoko for this too." She giggled, that was the giggle he wanted to hear for the rest of his life, it was like music to his ears.
"I love you to my angel."
A year later they were married, it was a small affair, the old Karasuno team was there along with a few from Nekoma and Fukurodani, and of course both of their families. Of course, Daichi was the best man and (Y/N) had Yachi, and Kyoko has her bridesmaids, Kyoko as her maid of honour.
Suga, was in tears when she walked down the aisle to him, in her beautiful white princess style dress with a v-shaped neckline, the bodice of her dress had a decorative layer of lace that ran down her arms, her light makeup and her hair in a mixture of intricate braids and curls that was pulled into a bun. He still couldn't believe that this beautiful women in front of him was about to become his wife. The ceremony was beautiful and sweet, the wedding breakfast was full of tears and laughter from speeches. When it came to the first dance everyone watched the pair as they gently dance around the floor, nothing special just being closed to one another and enjoying each others company, Suga had an arm wrapped around (Y/N) waist while hers was wrapped around her back and placed on his shoulder, their hands linked together as they dance to Better Together by Jack Johnson, their song. Soon everyone was dancing, it was a lovely evening party with everyone having fun and being merry, watching Tanaka and Kyoko together was beautiful, they had finally gotten together and had married early in the year. Noya had come back from his travels for both the weddings.
The honeymoon was a surprise from their parents, they didn't know where they were going, but their parents convinced them to let them pay for it. The car drove them to the airport with their luggage in the boot, they had no clue what was pack, the best man and maid of honour had packed, knowing where their parents were sending them. It wasn't till they got to the airport and checked in that they discovered they were going to the Maldives. Once they finally arrived there villa was beautiful, right one the beach yet secluded enough to give all the privacy they needed.
Two weeks later, after the very eventful and memorable honeymoon, they returned, moved into their new house and were back to work, Suga returning to his job as a primary school teacher. While (Y/N) enjoyed the daily dose of her (career). Two years into their marriage, they discovered that they were pregnant with their first child. Of course, they were over the moon having been trying for the last year and a half it was finally happening when they decided to stop trying and let it happen when it happens.
Suga was over the moon and so excited, his wife had started maternity leave at seven months, and he loved sneaking into the house watching head do odd things around the house from cooking to just sat on the sofa reading a parenting book. He had tried to convince her to take it easy, but (Y/N) reminded him that was wasn't a fragile piece of glass and she would get easily bored if she just sat around watching tv or reading books. It was at that moment he was glad for the cordless vacuum so she didn't have to bend over to plug it in and it was much lighter than that old one they had.
He smiled just having come home from work, he had opened the door quietly sneaking into the house so his wife wouldn't be aware of his presence, her pregnancy glow just made him love her so much more, there she was sat on the sofa, with her feet propped up out in front of her, noticing that her ankles had begun to swell again, he was happy to massage them for her. He watched as she was reading a children's book out loud to there little peanut, the nickname they gave the baby, neither wanted to know the gender looking forward to the surprise. The midwife had said talking to the baby was an excellent way to get the baby to know their parents' voice.
"Why didn't you know, his eyes are orange, his tongue is black, and he has purple prickles over his back-" (Y/N) was rereading the Gruffalo. Having become a little obsessed with those books, Suga was pretty sure that (Y/N) didn't need the book any more, she must have to know the words off by heart by now, from the Gruffalo to Room on the Broom and Zog, even he knew the works off by heart, but his personal favourite was Each Peach Pear Plum and Polar Bolero. (You have no clue how long it took me to find and remember the name of this book)
He watched her continue to read the book, not wanting to disturb until she was finished, he loved the fact that she gave voices to each of the characters each was different.
"You love that story, don't you, my angel." Suga walked over, placing a gentle kiss on her lips, before cupping her swollen belly, "Did mummy read you the Gruffalo again? Did you enjoy it?" Receiving a kickback they both couldn't help but laugh at either the enthusiasm or dislike to the story.
When (Y/N) water broke, Suga was at work and (Y/N) was spending time with Kyoko, who had also recently found out she was two months pregnant, she was telling (Y/N) about how Tanaka had reacted. Which was highly entertaining, he was gobsmacked and then jumped around for joy as he usually did.
As Kyoko drove (Y/N) to the hospital there was a call to Suga telling him what was happening and to meet them at the hospital, the school had been very understanding and let him leave the second he found out just beating the girls to the hospital. (Y/N) was placed on the hospital bed and rushed to the delivery room with Suga by her side. Kyoko waited in the waiting room contacting, both of Suga and (Y/N) parents first, then the Karasuno team. All of them, when I say all of them I mean, Daichi, Tanaka, Ennoshita, Yamaguchi, Asahi, Yachi, the to be grandparents, as well as their siblings. Were waiting outside in the waiting room by the room that (Y/N) was taken into. Kageyama, Tsukki and Hinata were travelling down together from Tokyo as they waited, and Noya was on the next flight back to Japan from Australia.
One thing that (Y/N) would be eternally for is the fact that her mother had passed on her short labours to her, still being their first child it was eight hours, but she had heard of women go through twenty-four to forty-eight and more.
Suga appeared at the door holding a little bundle wrapped in pink, and behind him, his wife was being pushed out in a wheelchair to be taken to her new room to rest, she was also holding a bundle but wrapped in blue.
"Twins?!" Hinata squeaked, having made into the hospital with Kageyama an hour ago, the new parents nodded, with grins on their faces.
"This little one was hidden behind her brother. That's why she never came up on the ultrasounds" All of them followed after the new parents towards the new room, the nurse saying that only family was allowed but was very taken back when (Y/N) and Suga said they were family. Once (Y/N) was settled into the new bed. The twins in the bassinets, they came to meet the latest additions to the family, they had named the baby boy Hiroaki and they baby girl Nishi, everyone was cooing over them, the twins were going to have eight uncles on top of the siblings that the new parents already had, what (Y/N) couldn't believe was how taken Tsukki was by Nishi, that girl was going to be spoilt by him. After twenty minutes, everyone left to let (Y/N) rest and said they would be back tomorrow.
"Koshi, look at our beautiful babies." (Y/N) gushed as she watched the twins sleep from where she was laying on the bed.
"You did so well my angel, I didn't know you had such strength." He winked at her grinning as he remembered the fact he was sure she nearly broke his hand, she had most definitely cut off the circulation in his hand with that grip. Suga leaned down, brushing her hair away from her forehead, placing a kiss there.
"Thank you for giving me the greatest gift ever. Now you get some sleep I will stay here with you." Climbing into the bed next to (Y/N) that the nurse had brought in for him.
Suga had been given leave from work, the twins being born not long before the summer holidays anyway so an extra month he was grateful for so he would be able to help his wife with the twins, but he had to promise to bring the children in for his colleagues to meet as well as his young students, as they have been so excited that their favourite teacher was having a baby.
Suga has always been so in love with his wife, but the look of her in the nursery holding the small bundle in her arms as she rocked Hiroaki back to sleep after his feed. He was in such awe of how beautiful the look of motherhood suited her. Even with the slight bags that were forming under her eyes, her hair was askew from the sleep she had been awoken from. He was quite impressed with how she slotted into motherhood, she was a natural. The twins were also so well behaved, they only cried when they needed feeding or to be changed, they slept most of the nights but they did wake rather early.  The look of motherhood on his wife was his favourite look he had seen on her. He had never seen anything quite like her tonight.
