I need more stories and fanfiction where the MC is an adult. Really don't like the way we've shifted to every single MC has to be barely 19 years old paired with these men who are at least twenty years older than them. Why did we go backwards.

😮‍💨
Hahahahhahah.
I am wheezing. Wow. These kids. It's like a little fairy tale they imagine for themselves and then they live in it.
Okay so they said this :
"meaning that in the case of naruto’s kids they’d have to have grown in his womb to have those markings which confirms naruto as dfab and also confirms hinata as dmab as they’re her kids too. if you were referring to them being Naruto’s kids, then the correct pronoun would be ‘his’. But no, it pretty much has to be him and Hinata, with Hinata being trans too - Himawari has physical characteristics similar to Hinata. And the show and manga both confirmed it by having the kids exist with the markings - that is itself the confirmation, regardless of if Kishimoto meant it to be (which he likely did not - he probably forgot the specifics of his own rules and just wanted the kids to look cool). But according to the universe rules he created, that’s how it has to be."
So Naruto grew his kids in HIS womb because otherwise his kids won't have the whiskers (not whiskers btw, just marks). So apparently the 'universe rule' that Kishi made, according to these kids, basically 'implies' Naruto carried the kids which is why he is trans and his kids have whisker marks. They can't see that this universe rule is simply their assumption without any validation in canon. Heh. And apparently Hinata is also trans. Why? How? Himawari had physical characteristics that are similar to Hinata.
Umm yeah, she is her daughter. That's how genetics work. Smh.
Universe rules Kishi created. Lol. Can't read narrative for shit but ready to follow up on the non existent universe rules Kishi 'created'. It's just so dumb.
Kishi didn't mean it, he must have forgotten his own 'specific' rules. For his MC. Sure.
Noice. Because that's what professional writers do. Make specific rules for their protag and then conveniently forget about them. Totes. Spot on. Emphatically accurate.
Hehehe. They can't digest the fact that Boruto and Himawari having whisker marks is just a design aspect so they can appear distinctly as Naruto's kids. That's literally it. No other reason. For Naruto, those marks were functional, as they would flare and darken when his kyuubi chakra leaked out. They served a design purpose in Naruto's story. They don't serve any purpose in Boruto. Boruto simply has them because he is Naruto's offspring whose design necessarily needs to look similar to Naruto. So he is instantly recognisable by the audience. That's really all. No mental gymnastics required.
These kids are playing make-believe stories for their heart's pleasure. They find themselves too het and vanilla in an increasingly complex world and so, they look for diversity where there isn't any. Can't follow a very gay love story for shit (wherein they ignore the story and major characters but glorify and overestimate their largely irrelevant and less than sidey fave character, a selfish and boring woman married to a gay man) but they can and will appropriate queer theories to feel better about themselves. Reassure themselves. They also want to be seen as woke and forward thinking. Lol. And they think appropriating important concepts without an iota of intelligence, objective thought or consideration is the way to do it. Won't acknowledge a very visibly canon and credible gay love story that makes this manga, but will surely pull their heads out of their asses to believe Hinata is queer and NH is special. Wow, so woke. So QuEeR. Lol silly lil hypocritical ones.
I think they are just little kids or young adults who want a little feel good hormones and I guess, just let them have fun? They will get it sooner or later. Including how to comprehend media. All sorts of eye openers around, they just gotta look for it, maybe have an epiphany. Lol. If they don't, it's their loss.

Sorry if this has been asked before. Been reading Hana and Angel threads and while the hate is disheartening, I can't help but agree the execution of Hana is really disappointing. That said, Megumi has had so many interactions in the Culling Games but somehow none of them really stuck. At the very least with Yuji, his relationships are well crafted and given more emotional weight but with Megumi? Why is it that the author seem to deny giving him a good and well established connection outside of his friendship with Yuji? Is he purposely being limited to just the MC's friend? I would have thought that as deuteragonist he'd at least be explored more outside of the constraints of his ties with Yuji.
The Hana situation in particular. Thank goodness that she's still alive, but the real question is, will her supposed 'connection' with Megumi play a role in his character development? Or is she just relegated to be a future plot device?
Like, I just don't get some of Gege's decisions. Why bring up the whole 'getting saved by Megumi as a kid' when he could have just went with she's a vessel for Angel and that's it? Why make a connection if he wouldn't bother expanding it (in case all that is in store for Hana is simply to be used as plot device later)? Idk, it feels demeaning to Megumi's character. Like the half-assed relationships around him is a mirror to his character or something.
I salute your passionate love for Megumi, anon 🫡.
But, to your point. I get it about the execution. I just don't think too much about it. I'm over here vibing with Gege, anon 🌊, I acknowledge but ultimately don't focus on the flaws in jjk. I like it enough to be selective about where I focus my critical thinking regarding jjk.
But I do think Gege is very guilty of steamrolling through things and characters and that's why a lot of people can't stomach jjk.
I also must admit I have zero objectivity about Megumi so I see the situation differently than you. I kind of wonder if rather than limiting his character as a friend to the MC, Gege is just writing Megumi as a quiet young man who has few friends with whom he connects deeply with. You know... like the total introvert that he is.
To me, Megumi having few relationships also speaks volumes about how Megumi holds Yuji and Tsumiki in very high regard. It could be hc, but there's something very "attachment" issues about Megumi.
I taco'more about it under the cut.
Regarding your question about Hana as a plot device...
As much as I hate to say it, I think given the treatment Tsumiki got, Hana turning into a plot device is very likely, most especially because her symbolism represents light in the sense that she brings illumination and reason (Angel).
Basically we're reading Megumi Kaisen and Gege just wants to give Megumi development no matter who gets dragged into his drama.
Ok but in all seriousness. While I maintain that having a crush on Megumi does not cheapen her character (even though I acknowledge I'm not a fan of the "girl pines for unavailable boy" trope), I can see why others don't like her back story.
The only thing I can think of is that either we don't have all of the information we need about them yet, or Gege is sort of using the backstory to show something regarding "fate/destiny" but was admittedly sloppy about it.
The thing with "fate" as a trope is that it's hard to execute. If you've read Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle/xxxHolic you've seen it. How do you make it look like fate is happening without it feeling like plot armor?
Look at it this way: what are the odds that Hana would run into Megumi ever again? Under these particular circumstances no less. She's literally host to what sounds like a major sorcerer from the past who has the power to exorcise Sukuna.
It's "fate" plot armor in action if you consider there are millions of people in Tokyo and that the Culling Game wouldn't even be happening if it weren't because Toji didn't kill Geto.
The fact that she calls him "destined" one is a bit too much, yes. And you know what? Between you and I, one of the reasons I've hated how people hate on Hana is because I can relate to her infantile and undeveloped perception of love, which is why I like the hc of a Hana that learns to see the real Megumi--the natural progression of that perception.
But back to the fate conversation, you also want to keep in mind that Megumi is literally a "blessed" child and the son of an unlucky af man who happened to break destiny. He is also the one descendant of the clan that inherited Ten Shadows.
So you have tons of "fate/destiny" type elements around Megumi's character and Hana is one of them.
Regarding his relational dynamics feeling unfulfilling to you. I mean, yeah I gotcha. If you care to come over to the dark side, the way I see it, again, he's very selective of the people he gives his heart to.
You give meaning to things according to how you see the world, so even if Gege is not going deep with the writing, come on, come to the dark side. I must admit I personally don't see how the relational dynamics being half assed says anything negative about Megumi's character. I do love the idea that these dynamics he has with others say something about him though...
Like his dynamic with Sukuna speaks to his own untapped creative potential.
Or how his dynamic with Gojo was part of what made him doubt himself since he already assumed he could never surpass him.
Or how his dynamic with Inumaki shows he's very intuitive.
Or how Hana is a mirror of Megumi's naïveté when it comes to putting certain people on a pedestal because he cares for them intensely. Idk anon, I kinda like this hc about Megumi because Hana metaphorically represents the light/mirror he needs to become aware of this pattern in himself.
In conclusion, I just want to say that I do think this would be one of those situations where, for the sake of enjoying jjk, one just files one's grievances under "don't think about it too much and focus on jjk's strengths and what you do love about it."
Hope these mindset reframes help if you care to consider them, and thanks for stopping by.

Adaman, Irida and Volo 1, 8, 14, 22, plus one wildcard for whichever question you want!
Oh hey!! Welcome to my blog, you're my first ask! Dunno if I'm supposed to choose one for each question or do all of them, so I'm doing the latter. This is gonna be pretty long, so buckle up lol
Why do you like or dislike this character?
I'm pretty neutral with Adaman, he's a character with solid design and personality, but I just wish there's more story to him. The only noteworthy story stuff I find about him is that he has a lot of siblings, which make for a fun dynamic, he's a bit unsure being a leader (altho that appears few and far between), and that's kind of it? He's kind of boring imo Adaman fans pls don't come @ me ;A;
Irida, on the other hand, I actually get attached to a lot more than I expected. She has the same solid design and personality as well, but I like that there's more focus on her personal conflict. Since she's young and a recent leader, the insecurity of being a leader is stronger on her side, not to mention the whole thing with Palina. You can actually see that she's growing as well over the course of the main story.
Lastly, Volo. He has a death grip on my soul Unsurprisingly my fave, mainly because of the angst potential he has and his way of thinking. Personally, I take one look on his idea of "The world is unjust so we need to start over" and thought 'oh, big mood'. (The same reason I got attached to Cyrus lmao) Unlike Cyrus tho, he's a lot more human and he acknowledges it, which is where I like to imagine how shit goes down with him, especially with his vague backstory.
8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
When it comes to all of them? Just water down their personality by A LOT. One thing I saw in how ppl treat them in fanfics, especially with Volo, is either making him a terrible irredeemable monster with zero personality other than 'evil' and 'master manipulator' and making him the butt of the joke, or he's a soft fluffy UwU boy that instantly regrets what he's done and becomes good after the MC kisses him or something. Like I get that it happens in memes for the former and x reader indulgences for the latter, but cmon guys. Once or twice is fine, but I feel like it's so overdone. You can't just erase the canon like this. Volo is a compassionate guy. Volo knows well the weight of what he's doing / will do to the world. Those things can and do coexist.
I also have a really long tangent for Volo being compared to Kamado in terms of evilness and being hated / loved by the fandom, but that's for another post if you actually want to see it.
While I don't see much of their depiction in fics (because I'm not wading through 157 submas or x reader fics just to find a decent fic of them), I do also think that, like Volo, Adaman also suffers from his character and story shoved aside because ppl focus more on the fact he's hot, be it in fanarts or fics. I do occasionally see some interesting takes on his character that are explored further, but it's either a) a hidden gem, or b) overshadowed by the main plot of more popular fic focuses (again, submas AUs or x readers)
And for a main character, Irida is just really shoved aside in the fic department. You have to actively scour for stuff about her, although I don't actually do that so I don't really know how bad this gets.
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
Why would you make me do this I am the worst at this aaaaa- (ded)
Adaman is not formal. At all. Assigning him a steampunk aesthetic because of the association with time is really cool, but expect him to be fussy about it. He is 100% casual, bonus points if the clothes are long sleeved and baggy or loose in any way. (Which is ironic since those are a nightmare to clean in boggy terrain. Whoops, sorry bud) In a way, his modern drip is actually really fitting.
Irida is definitely the opposite of Adaman. She NEEDS her clothes to be at least somewhat revealing, otherwise she won't survive the summer. I can also see her choosing light colored clothes instead of the black undershirt in her modern drip since it reflects light (and therefore heat) instead of absorbing it. Also jewelries. Nothing too excessive, just a bracelet or maybe some earrings to match her outfit.
Volo is definitely an ancient greek aesthetic, although he may be open to other things as well. Like Adaman, his clothes tend to lean on the more comfortable side, although he doesn't mind revealing clothes too much. His default is thick jackets or hoodies with fur linings (and the fandom also agrees since it's the consensus modern drip for him lmao) but I imagine him wearing more traditional celestica clothes in private since his heritage is near and dear to his heart.
Literally no polyester, rayon, nylon, or any synthetic fabric for these guys. They would die of rashes within 30 minutes. (Aside from Volo, but he's still dropping it after a while)
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don't like?
While I'm mainly a Volo x Reader fic main (yes I'm one of those ppl pls don't judge ("o_o)) I actually enjoy the fics that analyzes their characters and behavior more. Potentially also worldbuilding and relationship dynamic with some other character (that don't involve romance) is also really good and I keep coming back to them.
Some of my recommendations for Volo in Ao3 is teach me a kinder world (whatever you can bring) and a lot more Volo and Cogita stuff by absolutenadir. Another one is 成功を祈ります (English ver.) and while it's presented as an x reader, reader barely appears and there's zero romance scenes at all. After the story itself, there's a really detailed breakdown of Volo's character as the author has a philosophy masters degree (bless your soul Laurentine, hopefully you're doing well out there) and I think it's a good foundation for understanding and writing Volo as a character as well.
While I don't actively read Adaman and Irida focused fics, there is The Importances of History (Class) by annasofroma which is a series dedicated on worldbuilding and relationship building. While the main focus is on the Galaxy Team, I've read all of them and there's at least one fic in there where both are prominent figures and actually express a distinct way of thinking. There's also same earth; same air; same sky which explore their sibling-like dynamics.
But on that note, shoutout to jdphobe for making that and Apotheosis as well. Definitely the most invested I have ever been in a long fic. There's two other legends arceus fic of theirs as well that focuses on Volo but be sure to give them a read as well!!
And I think that's it!! This post's gone on for long enough so no wildcard for today. Thanks for sending me the ask!

Like 4 ish questions (Note: Ofc you don't have to answer if you don't want to)
1. Do we get the choose what languages we can speak or is that not something that will be an option / you don't know if we can yet?
2. Will there be a relationship meter with Coach Sy?
3. Can Sy speak Czech?
4. Will the finished version cost money? If so how much?
Really love the game so far and I've replayed it like 3 times already (going onto 4th right after this ask) and have only known about it since yesterday, it's amazing ! I really love tennis but never learned to play + my school has never had a team so being able to see tennis media is great !! I really love all the characters and the story telling is impeccable, can't wait to see the finished product!
HAHA cool, this is so organized, I love it!
1. Choosing languages (beyond English) is something I might add later on. I’m getting a sense of how much people would want it in the poll, because it is extra work, but it’s definitely on my wishlist. If I do end up implementing it, it’d probably be a “meaningful” choice for 2-3 languages (as in, little moments where folks will interact with you differently in-game) + an “input” choice for all other languages (as in, type whatever language you want but the game will not acknowledge it beyond ‘oh MC speaks x language’)
2. There’s currently a combined relationship meter for Coach Sy and Coach Jones.  No intention to separate the meter. + To answer another poll respondent: no... Coach Sy is not an RO, and neither is Valentina.....🙈😂
3. Yes, Coach Sy can speak Czech She spent most of her young adulthood and adulthood split between UK and the US, but grew up in what was then Czechoslovakia. That said, I can’t speak Czech, so if I ever add Czech sentences into the game, I’m counting on google, and any Czech-speakers among my readers to tell me if I screwed up horribly.
4. The finished version will cost some money. How much? Who knows. I plan on releasing the game as part of the Hosted Games label one day, and it will likely be >$0. But that’s still a long way away :P
I’m so happy that you like the game and I totally agree - more tennis in games and movies/tv shows would be awesome! Hope the 4th run-through was just as enjoyable :D

So.. I just got done reading the novel and I have some questions. For one how come WWX himself never publicly outed JC for his lies, really. It would have saved him the trouble is it because there is some sort barrier due to his low status. Two, After I read the novel my faith in people really decreased not to sound like a Debbie downer but the fact that everyone easily believed in the lies told from the sects got me so heated like WHAT?! In fact, the lack of acknowledgement to WWX when he played a huge part in the war and then condemned him for Demonic Cultivation even though he saved them was really telling of their character. I actually wouldn't have minded the mc going the villain route but obviously that not the theme or moral of the story. Lol, Really loved the ending was realistic when JC and WWX parted ways.
To me JC was a really good character. He wasn't the big bad but he played the childhood friend antagonist quite well. He did so much damage to the people around him that I genuinely laughed when he was blacklisted from marriage prospects.
However, he sucked so much as a person that I inwardly cringed sometimes from the shitty things he said. I hoped that his ending would be brutal 😔 but, I liked how it turned out. His mother and him were such petty bitches lol 😂, I can't. They keep spouting the same tragic backstory as if they're lives were from soap opera. I really wished though other than LWJ and WWX for someone to actually look this man in the eye and tell it how it is that he is nothing without our main protag coddles him.
Also, the sects got to much power. There isn't really a structural government. Idk shit about politics but damn I guess you can do whatever the fuck you want if you are blessed with the riches. I automatically hated Rich people after I read the novel 🤣
Ah congrats on finishing the novel! ✺◟( • ω • )◞✺
Haha your takeaways are very similar to mine. When ppl complain about WWX at the Nightless City Pledge Conference for ex, I'm just like: WWX should've ended more careers ・:*:・゚’☆. If you can't stand the heat then stay out of the kitchen pledge conference where you're pregaming and hyping each other up before going to attack a really really powerful guy to kill him and the people he's protecting. Or maybe don't shoot an arrow into his chest while he's actually still talking trying to explain himself. That average archer dude and his brother w the shitty sword skills really just came to fuck everything up for everyone involved.
It does feel like we were ROBBED of the catharsis of seeing jc forcefully ejected from the world of the living... It makes sense that he didn't. I get why it happened logically. I get that ppl born w a silver spoon up their @33 rarely get what they deserve but STILL 😪. WWX and Wen Ning are too flipping good. This is also why I still enjoy JGY as a character. jiang cheng decided to mouth off to him in the Guanyin temple and JGY was like: you picked the wrong place, the wrong time and the wrong bitch, and dropped every truth bomb on him at once. bliss. To say nothing of how Wen Ning- kind, timid, Wen Ning delivered this absolute banger in chapter 89:
Sect Leader Jiang----you, you’re such a headstrong person, forever comparing with others, but know that you could never compare to Young Master Wei!” [🖕]
Now, I was thinking about your initial question "why didn't WWX publicly out jc for his lies" and it made me realize jc lied quite a bit didn't he? He lied to WWX about how they could stage the defection and then called him the enemy of the entire cultivation world behind his back. He lied to the cultivation world about WWX declaring himself its enemy. He clearly told some lies to Jin Ling, since Jin Ling believes WWX ordered Wen Ning to kill his father and mother: Jin Ling: "And what else I’ll never forget is that he ordered Wen Ning to kill my father and mother!”. jiang cheng reiterates that in front of Jin Ling in the Guanyin temple :
"But all those years, I was never enough next to you. Their love, their dedication, even their life! The lives of my father, mother, older sister, and even Jin ZiXuan! Because of you, all that’s left now is an orphaned Jin Ling!”
With a terrible shudder, Jin Ling’s shoulders slumped. His expression waned as well. (Chapter 102)
jc clearly just dragging Jin Ling into his argument as another weapon to use against WWX giving zero fucks about how it's affecting Jin Ling. So anyway , I think for WWX to try to clarify any of it earlier no one would have believed him so it would have been pointless. By the end the truth does come out. Of his core and the Wens from the blood pool helping everyone. Wen Ning is now running around with the Lan Juniors night hunting. Jin Ling likes WWX and defends him against jc repeatedly and realizes jc is the problem. So yeah... it all comes in due time. Lastly. I thought it's so funny that you bring this up:
I automatically hated Rich people after I read the novel 🤣
I had this scene bookmarked for how hilarious it was. WWX Relatable king:
This young master had a vermillion mark between his eyebrows. His features were delicate and pretty, yet also harsh and unkind, and he was very young, around Lan Sizhui’s age. He was still half a child, but held a longbow in his hand and wore a quiver of arrows on his back, as well as a long sword which shined with golden light and glittered with gemstones. The embroidery on his clothes was as exquisite as any, uniting into a white peony over his chest, the golden threads slim glimmers in the night.
Wei Wuxian sighed and muttered, “Rich people…”
The boy was surely some young master from the Lanling Jin Clan. That clan alone used the white peony as its emblem, suggesting that their own beauty was comparable to the flower’s. The white peony was also the king of flowers, and thus through it, the Lanling Jin Clan also subtly advertised that it, too, was the king of cultivators. The vermillion mark on their foreheads represented “enlightenment and ideals illuminating the world.”
The young master had originally nocked an arrow on his bow, itching to shoot, but upon seeing that the spirit-binding nets contained only people, he was sorely disappointed. He whipped around suddenly, irritation written across his face. “Every single time it’s you idiots. There are over 400 spirit-binding nets hanging around this mountain and none of them have caught anything, but already you people have ruined nearly twenty of them!”
Wei Wuxian’s thoughts continued to be, “Rich people!” (Chapter 7)
